Speaker 1 (00:11):
Hey, welcome to Revisiting the Mania WrestleMania Rewatch podcast. I
am Carlos and I'm Maria, and we are not alone
in this revisit. We have a multi time guest of
our show and dear friend of ours Raymond from our

(00:31):
pad TV RAM.

Speaker 2 (00:34):
Hey, how are you guys? Hey?

Speaker 1 (00:36):
Thank you for joining us if you have not watched
and you're new to the channel. Basically, we started this
channel because Maria and I we're gonna be revisited or
we're going to be attending the WrestleMania forty in Philly.
And Maria had never watched a WrestleMania at all, and

(00:57):
the reason that I became a WWE fan was because
growing up, I only watched WrestleMania pay per view events,
either by videotape or by going to someone's house. And
we figured maybe that'd be the best way to get
Maria into the fandom. So how did that work out
for you?

Speaker 3 (01:17):
We were just talking about going to the next WrestleMania
in Vegas, so I'm not sure if that's gonna happen,
but I think that would be pretty awesome. This last
WrestleMania was pretty cool and better than expected, so it
was wrestle coan, so definitely into all things wrestling right now.

Speaker 2 (01:35):
Have you been to a wrestle con No, I have, not,
tell me about it.

Speaker 1 (01:41):
Well, it's just you know, like going to a comic
con and you had like the highlight people like when
we went to see Twet two, like Jim Lee would
have a booth and he'd be saying autograph Scott Snyder.
So you know, we were lucky enough to get there
early enough we got Rick Flair autograph. We had a
way two hours, which would have been like waiting for

(02:03):
like a Jymney or Scott Snyder type of talent. But
you then you have like the people who are a
little bit older or just doing like little indie books
and things like that, like you're Jake the Snake and
things like that. But Maria had lots of fun, meaning
not only Jake the Snake but also Tito Santana.

Speaker 3 (02:25):
From him.

Speaker 1 (02:26):
Yeah, they had started this new stuff where you get
to do breakfast with champions or you get to do well,
I guess lunch with ECW talent. Since it was a billy,
so we decided to do both. But the Saturday or
the Sunday morning of wrestling the night too was Breakfast

(02:48):
with Champions, so we not only got to see Tito Santana,
but we also got to see Ron Simmons. Damn the
Honky Yeah, the Honky Tonk man uh. I forget who
else was there, but those were like a little bit
of highlights. And then someone no showed, so then they

(03:08):
got a Victoria Lisa Marine.

Speaker 2 (03:13):
Yeah. So my my WrestleMania weekends, I went to quite
a few. When I was in the video game business,
the video game companies would organize a video game tournament
with the wrestlers called the Superstar Challenge, so I would
go to those before the actual wrestling card. And then
I had a friend that wrestled for Ring of Honor

(03:34):
and they'd always piggyback a show on that weekend, So
you know, I'd start the weekend watching my friend wrestle
in like a Bingo hall what and then watch the
WWE superstars play a video game. Some of them would
just go there and drink if they weren't wrestling that weekend,

(03:54):
and then go to the card itself.

Speaker 3 (03:57):
That's awesome, that sounds like a good time.

Speaker 1 (04:00):
Well, now we gave like a little bit of a
primer to anyone that's joining us, you for the first time,
and also thank you. Do you have any tidbits or
anything about the show?

Speaker 3 (04:11):
Oh, WrestleMania. The thirtieth annual WrestleMania took place April sixth
of twenty fourteen. At that time, it was the Mercedes
and Super Dome now known as the Caesar Superdome in Orleans, Louisiana. Also,
it was live on pay per view, So you guys
watched on pay per view, right.

Speaker 1 (04:32):
Yes, yes, Let's take a look at the couple of
shots of the white shots and things of the stage
instead of like this, think that that looks pretty cool.
I think that was better than the whole like set
up from the previous year because it was outdoors. I
like that it's the more clean look because you don't

(04:54):
have to worry about it raining or anything inside. So
there's nothing like a canopy. Yeah, ring, so you got
like real clear sight lines and things like that.

Speaker 3 (05:05):
Yeah, not that many obstructions, right, yeah.

Speaker 1 (05:08):
So it's not like when we went to Wrestlemingia forty.
But were we were kind of sitting like on this
end ring of this current shot, but in the lower bowl.

Speaker 2 (05:18):
And you were you were also freezing. Weren't you the
weather so cold?

Speaker 1 (05:22):
Yeah, it was definitely.

Speaker 3 (05:24):
The second name was so much better. But the first
day was really cold. We brought blankets, we had colds,
we came ready. You know, we're from Chicago, the Midwest,
so we know cold weather, but at that day it
was just really cold out there.

Speaker 2 (05:37):
Yeah, wore shows are it's it's a gamble because you
don't know about the weather, not just in terms of
the people being comfortable, but also for lighting when you're
filming it. You know, if it's overcast, that could really
throw a ranch in the works.

Speaker 1 (05:54):
Oh yeah, yeah.

Speaker 3 (05:55):
So in attendance during WrestleMania thirty, there were over sixty
sixty thousand people in attendance and over six hundred and
eighty four thousand people purchased on pay per view, So
that's a lot of MOLLA. And I really enjoyed the tagline.
You guys know what the tagline.

Speaker 1 (06:12):
Is that the good Times roll, because that's also the
title of this episode.

Speaker 3 (06:17):
Yeah, it's not a good Times roll. So what did
you guys think about Hung Kong as Hops?

Speaker 1 (06:23):
Yeah, it's a great picture of the showkicks off with
fulkemania here, you know.

Speaker 2 (06:32):
And he watches, he botches the line. Didn't he call
it this silver Dome?

Speaker 1 (06:38):
He called it the Silver Dome like three times.

Speaker 3 (06:41):
It's not the first time he got something wrong.

Speaker 1 (06:43):
Yeah, so that's also like as fun as it was
to see how Kogain back for like thirty is one
and I think it was about this time, it's like
we can't get the he can't get the name of
the stadium right, not only the first time. Like we're
at the Silverdome, at the Silver Dome and he announcers
you're trying to say them. He's like he must be

(07:03):
having flashbacks to Body Slamy Andandre the Giant, so.

Speaker 2 (07:09):
He botches his words, just like the candidate he's supporting.

Speaker 3 (07:12):
That's true. I agree exactly my sentiment, Raymond. I'm like,
what's happening?

Speaker 1 (07:20):
Stone Cold has to come out here and help out.

Speaker 3 (07:23):
Were you guys as excited to see stone Call as
I was?

Speaker 1 (07:25):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (07:26):
I was, because I was not excited to see Hogan.
But when when Austin and the other guy came out
there the other.

Speaker 1 (07:33):
Guy, Yeah, I'll just cut to the chase after Austin
comes out. The most electrifying man also makes an appearance
for the third straight WrestleMania The Rock.

Speaker 3 (07:44):
Yeah, I agree, And the highlight for me is when
The Rock, might I say, looking super fit comes out.
He talks about his friend, his childhood hero, and talks
about Sina Daniel Bryant, chance of yes, yes, Yes, go
through the crowd, and he ties it all together. I
thought that was pretty impressive, very very good.

Speaker 2 (08:05):
This was This was absolutely epic. I mean, these are
the three biggest stars in w WE history, three of
the biggest stars in wrestling ever, and to have them
all in the same ring at that time, it's just
it's pretty mind blowing.

Speaker 1 (08:21):
We did see The Rock and Hulk Hogan wrestle before,
but yes, our comment from our YouTube channel, thank you
for joining us live, Wayne and friend. Also of this podcast,
he mentioned we never gotten Austin versus Hogan. That's true
at eighteen I'm kind.

Speaker 2 (08:40):
Of glad Austin and Hogan never happened, because after how
Hogan handled his program with HBK, he just would have
messed it up and be like, yeah, I'm not good
with his brother, you know, and hold one of those.

Speaker 1 (08:57):
Vince, I need one more run, brother.

Speaker 3 (09:00):
You all smell what the Rock was cooking Like I
was because I was excited to see him, and I
just have to say thank you to the year of
twenty fourteen. His shirt the rock Sorry you have to
go on says just bring it, and he brought it, so.

Speaker 1 (09:16):
They should bring that shirt back into the shop. I like,
I would want to buy that shirt to get that's.

Speaker 2 (09:20):
A good shirt.

Speaker 3 (09:21):
Yeah, I was so happy to see him. He did
such a great job and tied it all together because
that Hogan intro was a little painful to hear it
when it started.

Speaker 1 (09:29):
Yeah, we have a question from once again from Wayne,
but even maybe you can help out with Mariam now
that you're getting a little bit of your smart mark knowledge.
What if Austin didn't retire, we could have seen would
you have one to see hope In Austin at Wrestlmingia nineteen.

Speaker 3 (09:47):
Okay, So I think I would have wanted to see
a trio so like Hogan, Austin and someone else. But
who that someone else is? I'd have to think about it.
What about you guys? What is triple threat?

Speaker 2 (10:00):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (10:01):
Triple threat man, Yeah, I would I would think that
you wouldn't need someone to carry because Austin was already
so you would need the triple threat. That's a good
call by you, Maria smart marketing training, because you would
need someone to carry not only Hogan but also Austin

(10:21):
because his injuries are mounting up to around WrestleMania eighteen
to nineteen. So if not a one with triple h
if we're thinking back in nineteen, I would have to
say maybe like a Curt Angle or Eddie.

Speaker 2 (10:40):
I was thinking of Angle or HBK. You need someone
who can sell.

Speaker 1 (10:46):
For Yeah, So that would have been interesting to get that.
It's a good question to.

Speaker 2 (10:52):
Get to the original question. I would not have wanted
to have seen it because at that point I was
so tired of Hogan man, I didn't want to see
him in the ring ever. Again, I love that SummerSlam
actually had with with Sean where Sewn just over sold
everything and Gold. I thought that was hilarious.

Speaker 1 (11:12):
Yeah. I think that was the Summer Slam right after
the Rock Hogan at eighteen. So for those who are
interested in looking and revisiting Bagstown the events of the
past that shape the wrestling future. So the announcers, I
have a question for you, guys. The announcers say that

(11:34):
Hulk Hogan Stone Cold are the two most celebrated superstars
before the rock shows up. Would you guys agree, like
in the the ww history, what do you think, Raymond?

Speaker 2 (11:49):
Yeah, I agree with that. I mean Austin sold more
merch than anyone. I don't think he has the record.
I'm not positive about that, but at that time he
had the most sales by far.

Speaker 1 (12:04):
Yeah, I agree with like as far as being the
most celebrated, like as being like, you know, as Raymond says,
what I'm thinking when they say celebrated, I would convey
like people who like wear their shirts, say they're catchphrases,
who are being presented more in the pop culture outside
of a wrestling ring, Right, what about you?

Speaker 3 (12:29):
I mean, well, that's a good question me looking backwards,
are they the too?

Speaker 1 (12:35):
What is the celebrated too?

Speaker 3 (12:37):
Most celebrated? I right away, I think of HBK. I
don't know if that's just like my bias, because I'm
a big fan of his wrestling, so I would consider
him one of the biggest celebrated wrestlers. And again that's
just my favorite bias.

Speaker 1 (12:55):
All Right, that's your opinion, Everyone's welcome to And with that,
let's start breaking down this. Oh you know what, I forgot.
I didn't get a chance to put it on here,
but during the research for WrestleMania thirty I found when
Phil was burning all the bridges cmpunk he made an

(13:16):
Instagram post. I'm sorry for anyone, but if anyone comments
and wants to see this, I will post it on
the YouTube channel. But cmpunk put an Instagram story out
there of what the supposed card would have been, and
this was dated as of the screenshot of the list
is dated as January twentieth of twenty fourteen. Then he

(13:39):
posted this later after he was ready to burn all
his bridges, so it would have had an match of
Roman Reigns versus Dean Ambrose for the United States Championship,
Big Show versus Kin just for nothing, just to have
Big Show versus k Daniel Brahan versus Seamus John Cena

(14:01):
versus Bray Wyatt, which is a match on the card
that ended up staying Undertaker versus brock Lessner. Oneother match
that ended up staying cm Punk was supposed to face
Triple H just for like they were gonna decide what
it was gonna be later and the main event was
gonna be Randy Orton versus Bautista. Yeah, for the WWE

(14:27):
Heavyweight Champions. And the only thing I got to gather
from here was they ended up obviously ended up pulled
it off on the Shield breakup because the Shield ended
up having a Triple A three man tag the Shield
versus the New H Outlaws and the Authority kN Unmask

(14:51):
King whatever he wanted to be known as at that time,
and Triple H ended up facing Daniel Bryan because Daniel
Brian Fever was hot. Oh yeah, and that man received
a push for eight months.

Speaker 3 (15:10):
Daniel Bryant.

Speaker 1 (15:12):
Brant, Oh yeah, I still have him a bag band
of Daniel Briant. So was Raymond. Yes, he is Dragon.

Speaker 2 (15:19):
I used to watch him before WrestleMania when he was
wrestling in armories and bingo halls, so I was happy
to see him get this far. And I wouldn't say
he was given a push. I think he earned this
one because they totally tried to bury him for the
last two years, starting with too WrestleManias Ago where he

(15:43):
lost to Seamus in eighteen seconds and they just tried.

Speaker 1 (15:47):
To you know, yeah, oh yeah, I agree, and then
they had him tag team the previous WrestleMania was King
you know when they had that whole team hell no in.

Speaker 2 (15:58):
The therapy sessions.

Speaker 1 (15:59):
Yeah, And I was telling him when we we visited
that one, did you know that like this had this
whole thing was just and you could still hear even
though you know Daniel was over there just trying to
push the no movement. Yeah, the audience was dirty from
that WrestleMania and even a little bit before, they were
still pushing yes yes, yes, no, matter how much Daniel

(16:20):
was doing no.

Speaker 2 (16:22):
No, no, And it was cool to see him earn
it organically and them giving the fans what they wanted
despite in spite of you know, Vince's plans, Like they
couldn't they couldn't not push him at a certain point
because it was just over.

Speaker 1 (16:42):
It shows that, you know, just like the previous resume,
and we just had WrestleMania forty, but also before that,
we had Kofee Mania. Yes ran a while too, So
it's good that once in a while the audience gets
it right. I'm sure that you know, Raymond, I'm not
a very big fan about all the Cody crybabies that

(17:04):
made us not have the Rock Versus Roman reigns.

Speaker 3 (17:11):
So all the fans didn't want to see that.

Speaker 1 (17:14):
No, they wanted Cody to finish his story. He finished
the story and it's gone nowhere. The story is boring
and now now who do they have to come back
to Raymond? They have to come back to the bloodline
and they have to come back to Roman Rains.

Speaker 3 (17:30):
If I hear that intro one more time, one more.

Speaker 2 (17:37):
Although I am I am psyched. I am psyched that
Jacob Fatu is finally in the mix.

Speaker 1 (17:43):
I've been excited when they get h in there because
he's also when they could work first man size. Yeah,
I mean he's still to the tongas.

Speaker 2 (17:53):
Yeah, but he doesn't have that. He still looks kind
of baby face. He has a baby face like physically
not wrestling style. I just like I was listening to
Jim Cornette podcast and the way he described Jacob Fotu
is like, this guy looks like like he would eat
your pet, like.

Speaker 3 (18:12):
The animation or yeah, you watch it, I watch it sometimes.
So with the animation, it's.

Speaker 1 (18:21):
Good now that we've given you guys, what if in
a little bit of primer, we're gonna get into breaking
down these matches.

Speaker 2 (18:30):
Have a short tangent. I watched a comic con interview
with Dan Housen, and Punk walked across the screen just
to clown him, and then he's like, hey, look it's
Pepsi Phil. He has his name is Phil, so I
think we should all start calling him Pepsi Phil.

Speaker 3 (18:50):
Done that to us?

Speaker 4 (18:52):
Funny?

Speaker 1 (18:53):
Alright, Oh Phil, what happened to him is he is eagle,
got out of control.

Speaker 3 (19:01):
I'm gonna use the shirts and sleepy shirts and stuff.

Speaker 4 (19:06):
Follow.

Speaker 2 (19:07):
He didn't follow Dan Hals's method of being very nice,
very evil. He was only very evil.

Speaker 3 (19:15):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (19:15):
So that that takes us to match number one, number one,
daniel' brien versus Triple h and whoever wins this match
advances to face Brandy Orton and Batista as a triple
threat match for the unified titles of the WWE and

(19:36):
the World Heavyweight Championship. This match ends up going for
twenty five minutes in fifty eight seconds. Oh yeah, well,
we can't never forget about Stephanie because she is an
authority figure. Now, this is when they're taking over for

(19:56):
Vince as the bad guys that we have on screen,
Her and Hunter and the faction is called the Authority. Yeah,
so then we have this great entrance here from Triple H.

Speaker 3 (20:12):
I think the entrance is top tier for me, and
I don't know what it is. It's like one of
my and I'm not a huge fan of Triple H.
For those who listen to watch this podcast, I don't
know what it is, but this entrance is pretty awesome
to me. I thought it was super cool.

Speaker 2 (20:30):
I only like it for the three women involved.

Speaker 1 (20:33):
Yes, So if we're looking at this as I'm facing
this image, on the bottom left hand side, we have
the lady with the blond hair and the blue tips
that comes up later on as being Alexa Bliss. The
women on the other lady on top on the same
left hand side is Sasha Banks, who is no longer

(20:56):
in the company, but she is an a e W
as Mercedes.

Speaker 2 (21:02):
Money, Mercedes Moan.

Speaker 1 (21:06):
And even though she's cut off here a little bit
from her logo, let me see if I again go
ahead and get that off for there you go. That
in right there by the sledgehammer is Charlotte Flair.

Speaker 3 (21:22):
Charlotte, Charlotte Flair, Yes, Charlotte.

Speaker 1 (21:28):
Those ladies end up being a very integral part of
the women's uh right now, She's still Charlotte Flair. Is
still taking time to recover from an injury that she suffered.
Besides her implants First Team again, did that happen again? Yeah,
it happened like a little bit before she ended up

(21:49):
tearing something. I forgot what it was.

Speaker 3 (21:53):
She tore something. The Rockets recovering from a.

Speaker 1 (21:55):
Torn Yeah, that's that was the original thing here that
they want need uh the rock to come back for
a third one, but tourist Pelvis he couldn't come back,
so they called the Teton.

Speaker 2 (22:09):
Why did you like this entrance? Because to me he
looked like like gold plated skeletor. But maybe that's why
I thought it.

Speaker 3 (22:17):
Was so cool, because it was like he was so
done up. I want to say, this is the best
costume or wrestling garb that I've seen him, And like
remember his old timey wrestling days when.

Speaker 1 (22:29):
He came what was his original He was the Blue
Bud of Connecticut. Yeah, but what's his name? The rich.

Speaker 3 (22:37):
The Hunter Hurst Helmsley from looking like he came from
a romance novel. So I felt like we've upgraded. He
likes super cool. I think his passume looks awesome. First
time I've seen him pop out with the ladies you know,
like that was in Stephanie or China? Sorry are China?

Speaker 2 (22:56):
Was this the first WrestleMania with the buzz cut? Did
he have long here the year before?

Speaker 1 (23:01):
I think so, yeah, before they came in with new hair,
because he's kind of like semi return. He's doing the
Undertaker where he's just like doing like before, he's trying
to wind it down, and once he thinks he's out,
they're like, Hunter, we need you to come in and
take something.

Speaker 3 (23:21):
He's like, thank you, audience. If you think that this
introduction to Triple H was as cool as I thought.

Speaker 2 (23:27):
I was at.

Speaker 1 (23:30):
Or if you thought that this introduction of the yes,
Yes Yes movement was the best introduction of the night,
you can drop a comment below.

Speaker 3 (23:42):
Look at that beard. It's so much win a championship
on its own.

Speaker 2 (23:47):
That shirt sucked though, weird, Like is the shirt I.

Speaker 1 (23:51):
Don't know if it was like Castro that they actually
got for the model or Cha me my cousin Juwie.
It didn't have like yeah for this match of twenty
five minutes to fifty eight seconds. What did you think, Maria?

Speaker 3 (24:09):
I thought the first match is pretty cool. You know,
Triple H definitely has a bigger build than Daniel Bryant,
So just the two seeing them like, one guy is
definitely bigger a brawler, and then Daniel Bryant. He is
a brawler, but I feel like he has more technical
style as far as wrestling as well, which I can appreciate.

(24:32):
They lock up, Triple H immediately tries to use his
strength to dominate. I thought that was pretty cool.

Speaker 1 (24:38):
What did you guys think, Raymond, how let you go first?

Speaker 2 (24:41):
Yeah, No, I'm I'm a big I'm not going to
use his WWE slave name.

Speaker 1 (24:47):
What Daniel Brian.

Speaker 2 (24:50):
I'm a big frame of Brian Danielson.

Speaker 1 (24:52):
Always have Brian Daniels. I mean, you don't have to,
like right here, you could assume Daniel aka name Yeah,
instid of like the way Brian Danielson sounder. So he's like,
let's just go with Brian Danel.

Speaker 2 (25:08):
No the trademark purpose So yeah. So, I mean this
is arguably that his peak. Physically, he was always great
in the ring, but this was when he put everything
together both you know, Promo's personality and Hunter. Even though
this is the tail end of his career, he's still

(25:30):
really smart and knows how to work. Maybe he couldn't
do some of the stuff he did five years ago,
but his style was never high flying or anything like that,
so he can still work the style pretty well, almost
almost kind of how you know. Randy always worked a slow,
methodical style and that helped him extend his career up

(25:51):
till now. So it made sense. But as a fan,
I was so sick of Hunter at this point that
I just didn't I didn't want to see him. You know.
I think he's awesome as a wrestler, even better as
a creative. I love what he's doing with the company now,
but I always lumped him in into the situation of

(26:16):
holding Brian Danielson down because he is part of the family.
So I'm like, oh God, this guy again. And you know,
but I knew it was also inevitable at this point
that that Brian was gonna win this one, So there
was kind of a giveaway there, like, you don't you
don't open the show and not have him win, if

(26:38):
you know, the crowd would have revolted. Imagine if he
jobbed like the crowd would have been snow pissed. You. Yeah,
but it's a good, good technical match, nothing too crazy,
but and I like the injury, the postmatch injury angle,
you know, to make him sympathetic for the main event.

(27:00):
So that was smart.

Speaker 3 (27:01):
Yeah, so definitely really did anything for me in this man.

Speaker 1 (27:05):
No, Stephanie is just out there to be like an
intimidator to add more of that green psychology to the
underdog story that they're telling. What's maybe she's a more
tamed down.

Speaker 3 (27:21):
She's yelling at random.

Speaker 1 (27:23):
Yeah, so she's supposed to be like the main like
even though like they're both known as the authority, her
and Hunter, we don't know that the main authority is
through Vince's Baby's Girl, Baby Girl with Stephanie.

Speaker 2 (27:39):
So Stephanie is still on my dream girl list if
she gets divorced.

Speaker 1 (27:45):
I don't think she's gonna get divorced anytime.

Speaker 3 (27:48):
No, that's heavy for your I don't know if.

Speaker 1 (27:51):
It's hat and heavy, but i'm the assumption.

Speaker 2 (27:56):
I think it's the the net worth is too high
talk about.

Speaker 3 (28:00):
Their very strong.

Speaker 1 (28:02):
Yeah, so this attack happens right after Daniel Brian wins.
He ends up getting like a little bit of daylight
and he hits him with the cycloney, did they call
it that? No, they don't call it the cycle. But
since you want to refer to him as his government name,
Brian Danielson. We'll continue that and we'll just call it

(28:24):
hit him with the cycle. Is that okay with you? Raymond? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (28:30):
Little nature. God's been like refereeing for like.

Speaker 1 (28:33):
Fifty en you're still referee too, Like, wow, did this?
The referee a good referee? Well, he's still working, so
he's gonna be good or he has dirt on somebody.
So after Brian wins, after hitting that cycloney, after being
like worked out by Hunter and things like that, like Hunter,

(28:57):
once Daniel starts off hot, Hunter starts worrying. He puts
them in this. We can't call it a cross face anymore,
right because we're going away from Daniels, and so they
call it the yes lot. But when it's not there,
it's it's a LaBelle.

Speaker 2 (29:15):
Or lovell, LaBelle Jean label. It was a judo judo.

Speaker 1 (29:20):
This is the technical name of this. Hold the LaBelle
the bell LaBelle lock. The wrestler Chris Benoit used this,
and then they call it the Crippler cross face. But
because of all the stigma that's held with Benoi, they
started calling it the yes lock. Because it was part

(29:42):
of Daniel Bryanton. Yeah. So then then when he left,
it's called the actual technical name, which is the LaBelle Lock.

Speaker 2 (29:50):
So when I'm when I'm in a live crowd and
someone uses a cross face like that, my friend Jose
and I one of us will always out shades of
Crisp Benoi just wow.

Speaker 1 (30:05):
Oh right, So this is the tax still was talking about.
But after all of this real, would you recommend that
anyone that's new to watching rerest watching Wrestlmingia thirty or
as an old and for some reason has not watched

(30:27):
this match or this event, would you recommend for them
to go back and watch it.

Speaker 3 (30:31):
I think it was a pretty solid match for the
beginning of this WrestleMania Wrestlemingia thirty. Watch it. It was good.
You see Triple H, his introduction, his pool guard, random
Stephanie at and about on the ring, and then you
get to see some good technical wrestling from Daniel Brian

(30:52):
Brian Danielson. I'm turning into my mom, but it's confusing.

Speaker 1 (30:57):
I told you that last show that he's known that
is Daniel Bryan here and his name is Brian Danielson
anywhere else but the WWE. It is very confusing.

Speaker 2 (31:08):
It's also his name on his driver's license. Also, Yeah,
I mean, I think.

Speaker 3 (31:15):
It's pretty cool. We see his story continue. The fans
couldn't be happier. We saw that in the beginning when
he first popped out and he is the curious as Victory.
I think it's pretty.

Speaker 1 (31:25):
Cool, Raymond.

Speaker 2 (31:27):
Absolutely. I mean it was a good match. I'm glad,
and they wrestled at the right level. You don't want to,
you know, blow it out in the first match and
then have everything dip, so they had the right amount
of excitement. They told the story that leads to the
main event with the injury angle, and yeah, Brian Danielson's

(31:49):
just awesome. I will always watch him wrestle for as
long as he wrestles, which isn't much longer.

Speaker 1 (31:56):
Sadly, we's gonna go part time, so he's gonna retire
from the road. So maybe he'll just do maybe four
five maybe pay per views a year and like once
in a while show up at a TV event for
aw But I think he's committed to making a w work.

Speaker 2 (32:19):
Yeah. I really hope his contracts up right in next Yeah.

Speaker 1 (32:22):
But I think he said he wants to because I
don't know if Hunter is gonna bring him back, because
they wouldn't want to. They didn't their doctors never wanted
to clear him, even though like his personal doctor like, yeah,
he's fine, he can wrestle, Like, I don't know if
you want him in the ring. So and as for me, yes,
clean sweep it. I definitely recommend if you have not

(32:45):
watched this match for any reason, please do yourself a
favorite and go out and watch the first opener match
of Wrestling Your thirty Daniel Brian Brian Danielson, the American
Dragon versus Triple H just because of the way they
did the match, psychology of this match, leaving you rooting

(33:07):
for Daniel Bryant, leaving you wanted to shove it up
to the authorities, ask and shades of Stone Coll, Steve
Boston or any of the other anti heroes that we
had they've been said, brought up over the years. And
but that we move on to the second match, the
Shield versus the New Age Outlaws and Kane, and this

(33:34):
match goes for the Yeah, two minutes and fifty six seconds, Maria,
any thoughts on this match, anything that sticks out, anything
that you loved about this match, I mean.

Speaker 3 (33:48):
The Shield already starts in the ring when we get started.
They definitely if you don't know them and you haven't
seen them, they look like a action heroes. That's a visual.
So on the other side, you see Kan, the New
Age Outlaws, Billy Gunn and World Dog. They seem like

(34:11):
they're a little overconfident for us, who look like they
belong in a wrestling museum.

Speaker 1 (34:16):
What do you think, Ye like, it's definitely past their time.
I was shocked when the New Age Outlaws came back again.
I'm still shocked that Billy gun is still out there
and performing and wrestling Green Wrestling.

Speaker 2 (34:31):
Yeah, but he's doing it to hang out with his
kids though, which is cool. So yeah.

Speaker 1 (34:39):
And then The Road Dog Brian James is booking NXT
with his friend and Hunter's friend HBK. So those guys
made out pretty good. Still so far and still.

Speaker 2 (34:54):
Those guys made out.

Speaker 3 (35:00):
No oh anything about match.

Speaker 1 (35:03):
I thought, uh, you know, if Anthony's watching once again, Anthony,
I really respect you and your knowledge that you have
about wrestling, but Caine is not for me. He's never
for me. And this is like if Kane was anything
worth of anything. This is not the time. This is
like the Downhill spiral. Yeah, what about you, Raymond.

Speaker 2 (35:27):
This was a good bathroom break match. I mean, you know,
as good as the first match was. This was really
brought the crowd down. I mean, people love road Dog's entrance.

Speaker 1 (35:39):
And then they cut it off. They didn't even let
you do anything. All you heard is that you didn't
even hear him say it's me, it's me, it's the deal,
doublet anything like that. So that and gets cut off
by the Shield entrance, and then eventually we randomly get
the Cane entrance right after the Shield entrance. It was
something was off with whole timing of the entrances.

Speaker 2 (36:02):
Maybe the first match ran long.

Speaker 3 (36:04):
Maybe just get a guy cloth lined by Roman Ree.

Speaker 1 (36:07):
Yeah, this spear, I think is what you're talking about,
where he takes out both of them, and uh, that
one was pretty cool. Spot here. The spots only all
belonged to the Shield. They're the young, hip, cool people
that are on the roster. We at this uh outside
rope flip from Seth Rollins out to Caine. If people

(36:30):
did not know, that's Kane unmasked with his hair growing out.
And then we had this tope from Rollins and uh
Ambrose stereo stereo stereo topaz and yes, if you did
not know, the shield ends up winning here.

Speaker 2 (36:48):
So at this time, who did you like best in
the Shields?

Speaker 1 (36:52):
At this time I liked Rollins just because of the
work that he had already done in NXT. He seemed
like you was more of the more complete guy he was.

Speaker 2 (37:05):
Yeah, I agree with that assessment. I just never for
some reason, I never liked him when he was what
was his name, Tyler Rex, Tyler Black. Tyler Rex is
a completely different guy, yeah, Tyler Black. I'm like, he
looks like a dirty CM punk. Is that?

Speaker 1 (37:22):
Yeah? And I think that's why he ended up getting
that splash of blonde, because uh, they well obviously wanted
to get a way away from any type of reference
to Phil and anything that might have confused him or
opened him up for a lawsuit and things like that.

Speaker 3 (37:38):
So you're asking I'm a.

Speaker 2 (37:40):
Fan of Yeah, same at that time I was. I
was on Roman. Didn't like Seth, although I thought he
was the best worker, and still today I think he's
the best worker. But I can't stand as goddamn cackle.
I hate it when he does that.

Speaker 3 (38:02):
Like their longevity, like from seeing them in the Shield,
and again you know Nord Wrestling watching all these Wrestlemingias,
and I'm like watching wrestling now, I'm surprised, but she
like they're a longevity from like the Shield to now
that they're basically what is it like w W E superstars.

Speaker 1 (38:22):
Yeah, I mean they're all main event players. Uh yeah, Ambrose,
not for this company anymore, but for John Moxley as
he now known as in a e W. He's done
a lot of.

Speaker 2 (38:34):
Work and he's determined to get hepatitis.

Speaker 1 (38:40):
Yes, dude likes to bleed.

Speaker 2 (38:42):
It's weird.

Speaker 1 (38:44):
The nation really stop him, but that's that's her responsibility
now the world. So, but if we wanted to recommend
this match, Maria, would you say, anyone make up three
minutes of their time to watch.

Speaker 3 (39:00):
I think put it quite eloquently, but that's under three
minutes good time for a bathroom break, and it's for.

Speaker 1 (39:09):
Me obviously we sweep it. I would assume Raymond obviously,
since you mentioned it's a bathroom break, do not make
any time out of your day, whether a new fan
or an older season fans or someone just getting into wrestling, uh,
to watch the second match of this Wrestlmingia thirty events.

(39:30):
So that leads us to the third match, which isn't
really well, it is a match, but it's not a
one on one match. It's the Andre the Giant Memorial
Battle Royal. Now, Raymond, what is the difference between a
Battle Royal and the Royal Rumble that we have every January?
Now maybe a little bit later in February this next year.

Speaker 2 (39:52):
So Battle Royal, everyone starts at the same time, and
it's it's just a schmas Nobody in the first five
minutes or so, not a lot happens because the ring's
so crowded, so they're just doing like short punches. Sean
used to do this, like really short elbow that he
only used in Battle Royals, and it's just a mess

(40:17):
to get guys a payday for WrestleMania. Royal Rumble is
an entirely different match and much more interesting. When do
they have that?

Speaker 1 (40:28):
Now that's in like, well, the next one in Indianapolis
five is gonna be February first, right.

Speaker 2 (40:35):
So Royal Rumble is every two minutes.

Speaker 1 (40:39):
I think it's ninety seconds.

Speaker 2 (40:40):
Ninety seconds someone new comes to the ring, so two
guys start, and then they keep bringing guys in, which
makes it more interesting, especially with the surprise entrance. So yeah,
I'll have some nice surprises. You can do the pacing better.
You don't have to do that thing where guys are
moving in the ring, but they're clear really resting or

(41:01):
waiting to do something.

Speaker 1 (41:03):
So give about the audience a little bit of imagery here.
So this is basically what we ecorded about. We have
all thirty one people here pictured here, we have Biggie
in the background. We had Xavier Woods. It looks like
gold Dust's ahead Czarro Gender Mahon no longer with the
company Titus. It looks like the Maze our truth Mark

(41:28):
Henry Raymond Stereo is laying down there getting kicked by
Alberto del Rio down there. Yeah, Mexican Mexican crime happening
right there. A young Drew McIntyre for people that are
looking at this picture, and Fandangos over there with his silver.

Speaker 2 (41:50):
And like say his name properly, please vando.

Speaker 1 (41:58):
Id for anybody. Yeah, and uh so this ring is
really packed. You got Dolf Ziggler here.

Speaker 2 (42:07):
I believe this is Sinca, but which Sinkara because they
changed the guys.

Speaker 1 (42:13):
I think this is the beginning the actual one yeah,
this is the beginning one.

Speaker 2 (42:19):
So look at look at the left corner there like those.

Speaker 1 (42:22):
There are people resting right there.

Speaker 3 (42:27):
And this is the funniest part. It's always the beginning
because you see people kind of just hanging out and
then as it gets you know, morepened out than you
start to see more wrestling moves.

Speaker 1 (42:38):
No, Maria, you mentioned that you have a regret. Do
you want to share with Raymond with The regret was.

Speaker 3 (42:44):
That I was looking at Alf for some time, but
I was a little nern and I didn't go to
go meet him or take a picture with him or anything.

Speaker 1 (42:54):
So Raymond, remember I mentioned to you or we were
waiting for two hours Rick there to show up. So
when I kept looking at Dolf Zigler had his booths
across from us while we were waiting in line, and
I kept telling her like every fifteen maybe twenty minutes,
I'm like, do you want to go meet dof Zigler?

(43:17):
We have time? When she look over him lovingly but
like those dirty eyes, She's like no, and I was
like okay. And then there was like a random chair
someone did not show up at their booth yet. That
was next to Nick to Nick, and I'm like, you
know what, I was using that chair just go sit
over there, and I thought maybe that would give her

(43:37):
the courage to go talk with him, because no one
was talking to him.

Speaker 2 (43:41):
Nobody, I mean, and I don't I don't know if
you clown people at these things, but that's what I'm
used to doing. I would have been like nicky, like
when he was in the Spirit Squad. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (43:58):
So yeah, so he was there. This was I think
the morning of Night one of WrestleMania, so everyone's you know,
like there, and I guess maybe they had gone to
the Ring of Honor, the Supercard of Honor that they
probably would have had the night before. We were not
able to make it. We did have offers to go,

(44:18):
but you know, just like, I mean, why did.

Speaker 2 (44:23):
You not talk to him?

Speaker 3 (44:25):
I don't know what it was. I just felt nervous.
It was like also, I was like, oh, no, that's fine,
Like he was on my list of people that I
was like really pumped to see that list.

Speaker 2 (44:35):
I thought it was on your you guys like three.

Speaker 1 (44:42):
No.

Speaker 3 (44:42):
I had my list like people that I wanted to see,
like one of my most tendy Bassy. Who else is
on my list?

Speaker 1 (44:49):
Take take the Snake Cowboy Bob, but we never found it.

Speaker 3 (44:53):
Kept like missing Cowboy Bob, who else? Randy Daddy and
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (45:00):
And we missed out on Broker t Off Friday. He
was only cash only and we would not get cash
before we got there. There was only one ATM on
site at that I think it was Hilton or Sheridan
that they had this down in downtown.

Speaker 2 (45:18):
Would you you would have paid for Booker?

Speaker 1 (45:21):
Yeah, it was only like either eighty or ninety bucks,
but it was like a combo of Brooker and Charmel.

Speaker 2 (45:29):
I would have paid just to be like, dude, stop
doing commentary like that.

Speaker 1 (45:34):
Really, that's why he left because he had to start
getting prepped and ready for some something that NXT they said,
and they supposedly said he was going to come back,
and he never came after that. Tangent is done, so
we get back. Let's get some more highlights of this thing,
of this battle Royal were gonna. I like the costume

(45:55):
here that Raymond Stereo has as the Mexican. Mexican Crime
happens here as a sixth one nine is being performed
here on Alberto del Rio Charlotte's X Yes Charlotte x
fiance or did they get married really, I don't know.

Speaker 2 (46:15):
She's been raried a few times, so it's hard to
keep track.

Speaker 1 (46:19):
Yeah. So, and then we had the streak of Kofee
finding ways to not get eliminated as he is thrown
out over the posts of a corner turnbuckle and manages
to land where his feet are at the bottom step
of the stairs. You remember how long he had the

(46:40):
streak Raymond lives like five years or six years where
he had for these type of royal matches where he
found ways to stay in the game.

Speaker 2 (46:52):
Yeah, they had stuff like where he would get thrown
out but land in a chair outside of the ring,
like a rolling the announcers chair.

Speaker 4 (47:02):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (47:03):
And then they I like when they incorporate the other
New Day guys into it.

Speaker 1 (47:07):
Yeah, but they're not the New Day at this time.
I don't think it yet. I think this is just
a little bit before.

Speaker 2 (47:14):
Because what's the match? Isn't he.

Speaker 1 (47:19):
And Big Eye? But they're all still wearing like their
own individual gear. Like you can see like he kind
of has like his I call it like the Predator
logo because that's what it kind of looked like right
there to me no, because it's like he has braids
like in this logo. It's very like predator like is

(47:41):
what I always associate that those braids.

Speaker 2 (47:44):
Yeah, by the way, Kofi was always one of the
best guys in the video game tournament.

Speaker 1 (47:49):
That dude can play, Oh, you can play better than Xavier.

Speaker 2 (47:53):
Well no, I mean Woods wasn't invited to these things
when I was young, or he wasn't. He wasn't up
there yet. But for a while, Kofe was the top gamer.
Kane actually plays games a lot too. Ray sucks, so
that's funny.

Speaker 3 (48:11):
This is one of my Battle Royal Yeah.

Speaker 1 (48:15):
We like the way that Cesarro ends up winning here.
He ends up carrying uh the big show over the
top rope here and he secures his wing his win.
And I believe they said that this was the first
memorial Andre, Yeah it was.

Speaker 2 (48:34):
I mean it's hard. I like it as a match,
It's okay. I don't like Battle Royals in general. I'm
a big fan of Claudio. I'm not using his w
W slave name either. Caesaro Claudio, says Claudio Casanoli. I've
been a fan. That's another guy. I was watching Russell
and Bingo Halls I loved him in the Ring of Honor.

(48:56):
He had this gimmick where he would say hey, I
don't know if you watched his R week stuff, but
because of his accent, they limited his English, so you
would go up to people like hey, and the fans
would do it too, you know how they hey, yeah,
like what this punches? You know how they do the

(49:17):
boo and yay for him. They would do hey when
he Yeah. But he's a fantastic worker, and it's hard
for me to watch this match without thinking how w
W should have done way more with him because he's
in the ring. He's fantastic. Best European uppercuts I've ever seen.

Speaker 3 (49:39):
I guess I have to watch someone was wrestling because
when I was watching wrestling back then, when he had
the shewn, I really didn't care for a sosorrow ah
so and then him winning with the Big Shell passing
him out of the ring. That was a surprise to
me too, So you know, I thought this was cool.
I like the tribute to Andre and that's pretty awesome. Yeah,

(50:00):
and I would actually recommend that people watch it. It
was a good time for me. We'll start of course,
we know it's always this will start with you, but
it's pretty cool to see all these parents wrestling.

Speaker 1 (50:10):
Yeah, Raymond, would you recommend that any newer fan or
any fan at all watch this pay per view mean match?

Speaker 2 (50:20):
I'll give this one a skip. I just think Battle
Royals are boring now. Those are old matches from like
the sixties and seventies. I don't think they really work today.

Speaker 1 (50:33):
Okay, and I also agree with Raymond. There match this
Battle Royal. It goes for thirteen minutes and twenty five seconds.
Even though like this match manages to have great spots
to highlight, Like once the field gets narrowed down to

(50:54):
like maybe twelve or fourteen the more known superstars, it's
starts picking up and you got everyone being highlighted by
being able to throw in like their marquee moves and
signature like moves that they get to do, like show
like a picture of Cesarro doing his giant swing that
he was making a little bit more famous at that time,

(51:18):
getting some pops and things like that. But I do
not recommend that people make time out of their.

Speaker 3 (51:25):
Schedules to do I still have this tribute to Andre
the Giant.

Speaker 1 (51:29):
I don't think so. I don't remember they had it
for like a few years in a row, and then
I did not see it in the newest WrestleMania. I
think it was like on a SmackDown.

Speaker 2 (51:41):
Yeah, they've they've been moving it to the SmackDown before
WrestleMania just to get everyone to do something for that weekend,
and also because Battle Royals just aren't that good.

Speaker 3 (51:54):
So yeah, like I said before, this is probably like
the one and probably only, you know, like bat Royal
that I'd recommend, just because of the tributa to Andre
thought that was pretty nice. And then even though one
for me it wasn't that great because like I said,
I'm I was not a big fan of to Sorrow.

(52:16):
I can't think of his name right now, Claudio Claudio.
So I was surprised with the big show got tossed
and lost on this one.

Speaker 1 (52:27):
But with that that takes us into one of the
match four I.

Speaker 3 (52:32):
Didn't even say one of the best shows of the card,
the best match. I'm looking forward to hearing what you
guys have talked about.

Speaker 1 (52:38):
All right, Well, let's talk about this Johnson versus making
his WrestleMania debut Bray Wyatt that's being accompanied by Eric
Rowing and Lou Carper. Yeah, rest in piece to two
of these individuals. Now, uh, Lou Carper also known as

(53:00):
John Huber and Bray Wyatt is uh.

Speaker 2 (53:05):
Don't forget Brodie Lee. Brodie Lee was his wrestling name
in Indy's.

Speaker 1 (53:10):
Naw Yes, that's Luke Harper for people they are keeping
spot and Windham Rotunda. That's right for bright gray gray whites.

Speaker 2 (53:24):
So trivia question for you, Carlos, because this is something
in your wheelhouse. Do you know how Brodie Lee arrived
at that name or how John Huber arrived at the
Brody Lee name.

Speaker 1 (53:36):
I don't remember the Brody part, but the Lee I
is associated because he's looks similar to Jason.

Speaker 2 (53:42):
Lee and Brody was his character in Mallrats.

Speaker 1 (53:45):
Oh okay, thank you Yeah, alright, Like I like, I
know the Jason Lee Lee part, but I don't remember
the Brody Yeah. So thank you for making that connection
for me, because they would have probably bothered me if
it was something different. So, Maria, what did you think

(54:05):
about seeing Bray Wyatt here and his h Wyatt family.

Speaker 3 (54:15):
I mean I thought the introduction has their introductions was
going are pretty cool. Yeah, and then when Sina enters,
basically the usual mix of chairs and Booze does never
give up towels like you know, yeah.

Speaker 1 (54:30):
The scene of Machine never stops with the merch. I
always find a different like color to make pop fluorescent,
whatever color you want to make it bright.

Speaker 2 (54:44):
And that's why the Rock called them fruity pebbles.

Speaker 3 (54:48):
Yeah, and then we get a spider walk early on.

Speaker 1 (54:52):
Yeah, we do get that match. So like John Cena
starts off hot u in this match with bray Wyatt,
and then he's getting in a groove and he's doing
his diving shoulder tackles which usually ends up leading to
his five knuckle shuffle. And as John Cena is trying

(55:14):
to get into that, we get bray Wyatt popping up
in his crab stands spider whatever you want to refer
to it, and that just throws off and then we
get a lots of things here where Johnsena is being pushed.

(55:35):
You know what, this reminds me of Raymond?

Speaker 2 (55:37):
What's that.

Speaker 1 (55:39):
When in Batman or the Dark Knight saga when the
Joker shows up like this whole psychology like watching it now,
I get it. This like bray Wyatt pushing Johnsena, Johnsena
is like you pitting me of the good guy here,
he's like the standard and he's trying to push John

(56:00):
Cena to break his one rule right, you know, to
make himself show his true face to his fans. All
the little kids that look up to him are anyone
who wants to have Johnstena as there make a wish,
show him that he's a bad guy. And once in
a while he can, you know, go off the edge,

(56:22):
and he never does. Anytime he gets tempted to, like
in this example, use the steel steps or if there's
interference being done here by Luke Harper, he manages to
like fight off temptation. Even here where Bray White is
welcoming John Cena as he holds the steel chair to
use it on him, he sees Eric Rowl and get

(56:44):
up on the ropes on the mat and he uses
on Eric Rowlan instead before he delivers the AA and
gets the one two three penn in the win right
for the match that ended up going for twenty two
minutes and.

Speaker 3 (57:00):
Five seconds, Ray, would you recommend this match?

Speaker 2 (57:05):
Oh? Absolutely, I mean this was a hard one to
rewatch just because to what these guys are dead and
that was a big, big, big Brodie Lee fan big
bray Wyatt, fan of bray Wyatt, not the fiend. I
like the bray Wyatt character a lot, and the psychology
of this match was what made Braywyatt unique. I loved

(57:29):
his style and as Carlos was saying, him trying to
push Sena's buttons and get him to cross the line.
From from a psychology standpoint, I thought this was the
most interesting match of the night.

Speaker 1 (57:44):
Okay, what about you, Mario, do you recommend people newer
fans or anyone that's looking for something.

Speaker 3 (57:50):
And your new fan, I definitely recommend that you watch
this or if you haven't watched it before. I think
it's a solid match. We have a lot of good
moves from both sides, and that's worth the rewatch.

Speaker 1 (58:00):
For me, all right. And as for me, I feel
like this match went a little bit too long.

Speaker 2 (58:09):
M I feel like, who's the time on it?

Speaker 1 (58:13):
Twenty two minutes too Like if it was maybe like eighteen,
maybe like fifteen to eighteen, I think that probably would
have been like a better window. Like I don't see
like anything that was added on there. There's a lot
of rest breaks that you have, whether it's like inside

(58:35):
of the ring or outside of the ring because of
the interference from whether it's Eric Growing or Harper. As
much as I would like, for like, because of what happened,
like this is his first wrestleming manch and I would
love to be able to recommend Break someone make time

(58:55):
to go out and watch a Break Wyatt match, But
this is just not it for me, just because of
as far as like the ring psychology of the match.
It's a great match because of what we mentioned. You know,
it's something similar like if you have no understanding of
how to make a heel or like someone that's a

(59:16):
little bit more of a psychology psychological like if you're
trying to push somebody as a mastermind and have games
and things like that, this is one way to booket
and this is how you would do that with a
heel and a face. And it's a great example of that.
But as far as like the execution, as far as
telling the story through wrestling moves and things like that,

(59:38):
I feel like it kind of falters a little bit.
And that's why that's fair.

Speaker 2 (59:41):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (59:45):
Yeah, with that we get to the Hall of Fame
class of fourteen.

Speaker 2 (59:51):
That's a good class.

Speaker 1 (59:54):
Yeah, it's one of the ones now that Maria has
only not been able to recognize one person I think
out of the previous Hall of Fame classes, but making
the Hall of Fame class is Jake the Snake Roberts,
and Maria is a very big fan of Jake the
Snake Roberts.

Speaker 3 (01:00:14):
Wait did he tell you that? I Actually, I was
so shocked. I'm like, well, what are these emotions coming
out of me when we got to meet him at
that Russell.

Speaker 2 (01:00:23):
Con make fun of you that.

Speaker 3 (01:00:27):
I didn't know that that was like an emotion that
would be triggered when I met him. But it was
just you know, watching him like Russell and seeing him
throughout the years. Oh man, I was like, he was
such a talent and his hay Day. I was so
excited to meet him.

Speaker 2 (01:00:44):
And great story of because he was in a really
bad place before DDP helped him out, so it was
really nice to see him recover.

Speaker 1 (01:00:53):
And that he was inducted by Diamond Dallas Page. Yes,
so that was also a good thing that you have
to see. And then uh, half of the winning team
of the Wrestleming Card, Mister t from the A team
from Rocky three, Clover Lang here in the Flash finally

(01:01:18):
makes the w W Hall of Fame.

Speaker 2 (01:01:21):
How did he get there? Did he take an airplane?

Speaker 1 (01:01:24):
I hope I ain't. Yeah, they managed to rent the
band from somebody at that point. Uh so, and then
we have because mister uh Mooney had passed away the
previous year. Yes, Baar Bear's children, his sons ended up

(01:01:48):
being the ones that get the privilege of inducting them
into the w W Hall of Fame.

Speaker 2 (01:01:55):
Right, So this is the one that I was happiest about.
I don't know if the surprises either of you, because
I was watching this guy forever, Like he was in
w c c W World World Class in Texas and
he would work with Rick Rud was one of his guys.

(01:02:16):
First time I saw Rick Rud was down there a
guy named Texas Red or Mark Callaway who is now
the Undertaker.

Speaker 3 (01:02:26):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:02:28):
Yeah, so it was cool watching him. He initially they
almost they tried to make him like their Bobby Heenan.
He had like bleach blonde hair in the suits. He
wasn't as big as he was as when he size
wise in terms of you know, his stomach, as he
was in when he was Paul Bearer. But yeah, I've

(01:02:48):
been watching this guy forever, and a lot of people
only know him as Paul Bearer, but he had a
pretty significant, significant career as Percival Pringle, the third.

Speaker 3 (01:03:00):
First of all, Pringle.

Speaker 2 (01:03:02):
The third.

Speaker 1 (01:03:07):
He earned that, I mean, yeah, he earned the third.
You better give him the three rich that I am.

Speaker 3 (01:03:16):
I'm a super big fan of him, so I was
really happy to see him inducted in the Hall of Fame.
Like I said, all the choices made Sons induction.

Speaker 1 (01:03:27):
This one probably because you were not aware of who
Carlos familiar.

Speaker 3 (01:03:34):
He is like a very famous Puerto Rican wrestler.

Speaker 1 (01:03:38):
So you know, yes, he is the father of Carlito.
Is it Epic, Yeah, Epic is also is uh son,
and then Primo is obviously his his nephew.

Speaker 2 (01:03:56):
So back when I was a total mar I would
buy like Pro Wrestling Illustrated magazine and they would always
have like the monthly rankings and the top three were
always Hogan, Flair and Cologne and his title and I
forgot what the name of the federation in Puerto Rico was,

(01:04:18):
but he was the Universal Champion. So I'm like, well,
this guy's better because he's champion of the universe. Wow,
the other guys are only champion of the World.

Speaker 3 (01:04:28):
But I think that's also a sign of the times
that we grew up in because that's how I used
to get my media too. You know, that was like
one of my favorite source of the media's magazine. And
then you know, you start working, or when I started
working and I was able to pick up what I wanted.
I used to pick up like anywhere from DJ magazines
to hip hop magazines to graffiti besides my fashion magazines,

(01:04:50):
because you know, that's where you're getting all your information from.

Speaker 2 (01:04:54):
Oh I used to get I used to write for magazines,
and they used to pay the most magazine, No, out
of what you might have read, I did a lot
of work for fa JM PC magazine paid the most.
That was awesome.

Speaker 1 (01:05:17):
We're getting to the final two. Here we have Leada
also making the w W Hall of Fame.

Speaker 2 (01:05:25):
Yes, although I was more of a Trish guy, but
I love Lida's work. I mean, both of them really
elevated women's wrestling, and they gave opportunities to the next generation.
You know, we wouldn't have the Bailey's and the Sashas
and the Charlottes without Lida and Trish or really fit
Finley was the one that they gave him the job

(01:05:47):
to train the girls as a joke, and yeah, he's
a proud, surly Irishman and he's like he was going
to do it despite them.

Speaker 1 (01:06:00):
Yeah, once people thought that these bridges were burned, but
he's back. Brian Helwig, also known as the Ultimate Warrior,
is the highlight of the twenty fourteen WrestleMania collass.

Speaker 3 (01:06:19):
I was kinda surprised that the crowd reaction. So I
don't know if we like missed that watching this, like
but they're, you know, re visiting WrestleMania thirty. I thought
he would have gotten more of an outbouring because they know,
I was like very excited to see him when he
walked out.

Speaker 1 (01:06:34):
Yeah, I did notice that the pop wasn't as loud,
but I'm not sure how many people or in the
audience might have known all the backstage dealings or rumors
or anything that's been associated with The Ultimate Warrior.

Speaker 2 (01:06:52):
You think it's a smarter crowd at WrestleMania, So that's
why he didn't get the pop.

Speaker 1 (01:06:56):
That was the only thing that I can think of
unless they were all at the bathroom or broy merch
or getting sex for the last four the last three
matches that we have left on this card.

Speaker 2 (01:07:09):
I mean, honestly, I was more excited about Percy getting
the Hall of Fame than as he was known in
w CCW the Dingo Warrior, which is.

Speaker 1 (01:07:22):
So that was a Hall of Fame class And you
have no issues with this plasts, right, they all deserve it.
I agree for me because now you know everybody was
well Carlos Cologne. But yeah, and then we have Brack

(01:07:44):
making his wwe return after his little hiatus trying out
for the NFL and failing at that and then going
to UFC.

Speaker 2 (01:07:56):
He's back, and then did he have a what was
the intestine thing he had.

Speaker 1 (01:08:03):
Made? He had diverticulates particulars. Yeah, well yeah, because because
by the lightning of your stomach. But I forgot he
had diverticulitis.

Speaker 2 (01:08:16):
Yeah, they had to remove a pretty large chunk of
his intestine.

Speaker 1 (01:08:22):
I was making fun of Kenny Omeg, like, who the
hell gets diverticulitis as a wrestler. Sorry, Kenny, if you
ever managed to watch this, Not like I was questioning
your talent or anything like that. It was just like,
it's a weird. It's a weird disease for wrestler to
get because they take care of their bodies and they
watch what they eat and things like that. Because so yeah, Undertaker,

(01:08:49):
Oh we've got another comment here. The Ultimate Warrior came
back to w W. E got into the Hall of
Fame on Saturday. Yes, that's what I forgot.

Speaker 3 (01:09:00):
Thank you.

Speaker 2 (01:09:01):
Can you show the screen again.

Speaker 1 (01:09:04):
Yes, yes, yes, I'm going to get back to it.

Speaker 2 (01:09:07):
It's like, oh, he's dying right now.

Speaker 1 (01:09:10):
Yeah, thank you, Raymond. Yeah, you know we noticed this now.
I had mentioned to my wife that he dies later
after the raw that our viewer Wayne points out, he
comes out, yes, but during this when he's coming out,
when they're announcing the Hall of Fame, he's not only

(01:09:32):
always grabbing or pointing at the crowd, but he's always
touching around his heart. And it's very eerie to watch
now because you know, like he's very limited. This is
like his last forty eight maybe possible thirty hours that
he has left on his earth. And he's like, yeah,

(01:09:54):
that's I thought.

Speaker 2 (01:09:55):
He was like, I love you guys. Yeah, it's like
I'm dying.

Speaker 1 (01:09:59):
I'm dying. Oh. Then you're like, wait a minute, he's
like playing it like he's got like he's like, no,
I just have some massive reflux or something like that. No,
I'm good. We're gonna go ahead and get through this.
And unfortunately, after the next row, he's he is no
longer with us, So Peace.

Speaker 3 (01:10:18):
You're one of my favorite wrestlers.

Speaker 1 (01:10:20):
You are, so with that, we can finally move on
to brocklast second match. Yes, here's Brock listener back being
sponsored by Jimmy John John his cap. But he's worrying here.

Speaker 3 (01:10:37):
You know, I'm like, what is this? I asked him, like,
what are you worrying? Why?

Speaker 2 (01:10:42):
There is like UFC trunks.

Speaker 1 (01:10:45):
Yeah, that's what I was telling that he's still sponsored.
I don't know how long that Jimmy John's deal was for,
so he has to wear those trunks.

Speaker 3 (01:10:54):
I really want your take on this match because I
was really.

Speaker 1 (01:10:57):
And the Undertaker having his great entrances like always, and
I found a great shot because this just shows how
committed the Undertaker Mark Callaway was to his character that
he always found ways to like give us little moments
like this where he's like, I gotta sell the character

(01:11:20):
of the Undertaker. Let me roll my eyes back and
give people the look that everyone knows me for okay, So.

Speaker 3 (01:11:28):
I didn't have a comment because we were watching the
introduction to the Olympics and there was a scene where
have you watched the beginning of them?

Speaker 2 (01:11:39):
No interest? No interest, not until not until like Brazil
plays Columbia and beach volleyball.

Speaker 3 (01:11:46):
I will say usually we have like not that much
interest or any interest in the Olympics. But I started
seeing like different shots of different things, so I was like,
I want to watch this introduction, and one part of
the introduction was so wild, I'm like, this could be
part of a WrestleMania.

Speaker 1 (01:12:07):
It was that part that I mentioned in the chat
Raymond where they had like this one break where it's
like it goes from lay Miss to a metal band
starts playing outside. Yeah, I watched that one. It has
like Marie Antoinette blood spurting, like.

Speaker 2 (01:12:26):
It's I forget what band it is, but really good. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:12:31):
I had lots of like good thrashing metal and things
like that that I like, And I was like, who
is this band? Because I never mentioned it.

Speaker 3 (01:12:42):
With all his metal bands. And it's funny because other
wrestling fans have the same sentiment. Because I started seeing
memes like what is this part of WrestleMania. Oh, sage
guy is gal like, this is crazy so we get
to see this battle of AHEMO. Are you a fan
of Barack?

Speaker 1 (01:13:02):
Yeah, we have go on Raymond before I go into this.

Speaker 2 (01:13:07):
It's hard not to be a fan of both of
these guys because they they've done so much for the business.
I don't know, I mean, the the best thing about
this match for me was the ending because I was
not expecting it at all, like at at all, and
watching the crowd react to the ending was fantastic. And

(01:13:32):
even the little things they did, like they added a
few seconds before announcing the winner, kind of like letting
the shocks settle in, but they spent a few seconds
before playing the winner's music, So just little touches like
that made it cool. They always show that no one

(01:13:53):
African American fan who just looks, you know.

Speaker 1 (01:13:57):
People can see the picture I have of right here
on the bottom of the picture right there, but I
could not find I was actually looking for that actual
picture where he's just standing there shocked.

Speaker 2 (01:14:12):
Mouth dropped.

Speaker 1 (01:14:13):
Yeah, and he's just like what the fuck? Yeah, just
like everyone's reaction there. But yes, if you have not
inferred or gotten any other hints that were dropping. The
Undertaker does end up losing. The streak is over. At
Wrestlminga thirty, he is twenty one in one he loses

(01:14:35):
to brock Lessner, even though he starts off the match hot,
which was kind of weird to me because, yeah, well,
any of the matches that he's had I think since
like maybe Wrestlemingia nineteen, he's always started like kind of slow.
He's always been getting beat He's always been like receiving

(01:14:58):
the beatings from whoever he's facing, whether it's like Triple
HHBK Big Show and even when he was in that
triple Threat match and things like that. But this time,
even with like seeing Punk getting back to like how
like when seeing Punk was wrestumating with him, like to

(01:15:19):
last year twenty nine CM Punk came out as the aggressor,
and this time Undertaker came out as the aggressor, and
if he couldn't come out at the previous year at
see him Punk as the aggressor, hindsight being twenty twenty,
now you can see like all the breadcrumbs are there
that he was gonna lose this match, because it's all there,

(01:15:43):
like we didn't want to believe it, like all the
clues were there, like we had failed and saw me
in this mystery when we were like, oh, Undertaker's gonna win.
There's no way they're gonna have him lose to brock Lesner.
But it's all there. This is one of the rare
instances where Undertaker starts off as the aggressor and he
is bringing it to rock Lessener. He was not this

(01:16:05):
motivated when seem Punk was dumping Paul Bear's ashes everywhere
and running off of his arn, but for some reason
he had a vendetta against brock Lesser.

Speaker 2 (01:16:16):
By the way, check out Hayman. Like Hayman's reactions throughout
this match, Yeah, fantastic, fantastic.

Speaker 1 (01:16:24):
Yeah, And we got to where even the Undertaker's putting
them in the Hell's Gate and everything like that, Like
brock Lessener is taking this beating throughout this home match
and is getting little things here, but little by little
into this match, and he does answer once in a while,
but it's not like a consistent type of thrashing like

(01:16:47):
the Undertaker's putting on him. And we do get where
the Undertaker, for some reason wants to do old school.
He wants to do his rope walk. He attempts to
do it for the second time, and that's when brock
Lesner catches him slipping and puts them for the f
five for like I think the third time in this match,

(01:17:09):
and the one two three allion Wind goes to brock Lessner,
who ends the streak. Do you want to go first
or you want to wait?

Speaker 3 (01:17:20):
Well, brock Lesner, I'm do. I recommend that you watch
this match, yes, because it's iconic. You know, it's the
end of the streak.

Speaker 1 (01:17:30):
What is it?

Speaker 3 (01:17:31):
Twenty one to one. I was shocked, just like the
audience was when they saw it, just like you guys
probably were when you watched it. Yeah, that he finally lost,
the streak was over, But I'm kind of I was
kind of upset that he lost to Barack Lesner. I

(01:17:51):
know it seems like you guys are fans of Rock.
I've never been a really big fan of him. You know,
the man is definitely big, definitely looks like he powered
through with so many protein shapes and then he gets
you know, the pin and the wind for this one.

Speaker 1 (01:18:08):
But I was pissed.

Speaker 3 (01:18:10):
I'm like, to brock Lestener, that's who he lost to
the streak.

Speaker 2 (01:18:16):
Is over with him.

Speaker 3 (01:18:17):
I'm like, not anybody else. We didn't choose anyone else, right,
not any other person. Didn't He just come back to wrestling, Yeah, yeah,
come back to wrestling, and he loses a streak to him.

Speaker 2 (01:18:35):
I totally agree with all of that. I mean, you
need to watch the match. As you said, it's iconic
and for the reaction at the end. But I still
I will always think it was the wrong decision to
put Brock over like this because the wind does nothing
for him. He's already an established star. He has a
great talker and Hayman, I mean, he got another catchphrase

(01:18:58):
out of it is the man who puts one in
twenty one and one. But it should have been given
to a young guy to elevate them.

Speaker 1 (01:19:08):
Yeah, now, Raymond, when Marie and I were watching this,
she asked me the question of which I'm going to
ask to you, who at this moment in time, if
WrestleMania was like the point where Vince had decided and
Brock was not in the company, who else do you

(01:19:29):
think that he would have chosen to have break the streak?

Speaker 2 (01:19:34):
I don't think you do it at this time, though,
I mean I think they should have given it to Roman.

Speaker 1 (01:19:43):
Did no, you asked me, and you're like, why Roman?
And and here's the thing I'm going to go off on,
you know, I'm not like trying to. If you have more,
you can let me. Yeah, But as we have seen
in the Shield here, it seems like Raymond had asked
me who I felt was like the most ready and Roman.

(01:20:05):
Roman is not ready, and you could see it like
he is not ready and Vince tries to put to
give him the football and have him run with it,
and the audience does not like it as the first
play we face for years, and he's just not ready,
and the Undertaker keeps going on the street for like

(01:20:28):
he has like four or five more matches after this,
he doesn't retire, so, like you mentioned, it's really bad timing,
and he does. He eventually does get another loss and
his records and his Wrestlming record, but at this time
it is very definitely poor timing. And if he did

(01:20:50):
lose it, it should have been to Roman reigns. But
if we had to pick someone at Wrestlming at thirty,
who would have been the other pick?

Speaker 2 (01:20:57):
Who's still there? That's young? Show me that screen of
the Battle Royal. Let's just pick someone from there.

Speaker 1 (01:21:05):
Yeah, we got this shot.

Speaker 2 (01:21:07):
I don't know Drew was the chosen one, but he
was in that three m B gimmick, which.

Speaker 1 (01:21:14):
And then we have this shot there, like there's no
one in the company all the time. Maybe Dolf Dolph.

Speaker 2 (01:21:20):
Yeah, they had so many problems trying to push Dolph.

Speaker 1 (01:21:24):
To be because he unfortunately kept getting hurt.

Speaker 2 (01:21:27):
Well also his promos were never good.

Speaker 1 (01:21:30):
Yeah, but like like when they put the belt on him,
then he ended up getting like two concussions in a row.

Speaker 2 (01:21:36):
Right, But imagine if if Dolf got the one in
the twenty one and one, Yeah, I could road.

Speaker 1 (01:21:42):
That for for years. We probably would still be in
the company right now. If he would have got that one,
win would be any like, it could have.

Speaker 3 (01:21:50):
Been anyone, somebody iconic, I don't know, even like a
Rock or No.

Speaker 1 (01:21:58):
The Rock's not wrestling anymore, streveling anymore.

Speaker 2 (01:22:01):
But we gotta gotta give it to a young guy
to give.

Speaker 1 (01:22:04):
Them the undertakers made it already here from wrestling in
nine or eight up to this point. You have to
give it to someone that's already passed it.

Speaker 2 (01:22:17):
Entering.

Speaker 3 (01:22:17):
That's trying.

Speaker 1 (01:22:20):
I think this PG slashed the reality era. I don't
know what the hell the reality era.

Speaker 3 (01:22:25):
Reality era like when they have reality TV show.

Speaker 1 (01:22:28):
I think when they were just like trying to get
away from giving you characters, and Aaron was just presenting
you like a version of themselves.

Speaker 3 (01:22:38):
That's kind of the reason why old wrestling is so
like Maria Missus.

Speaker 1 (01:22:48):
Still around original Rest in Peace Born.

Speaker 3 (01:22:53):
This naturally pissed me off because I was just like,
out of all the people, you know, not that the
streak was over, like I said, couldn't have gone a
couple more years until they had that person, But I'm like,
out of all the people, we picked Rock.

Speaker 2 (01:23:10):
Okay, it's just a bad decision. But still the reactions
at the end are still great to watch, but yeah
they are. I don't I will never like this decision.

Speaker 1 (01:23:21):
So would you recommend anyone to go back and rewatch
this newer fan or fan that's looking to haven't watched it.

Speaker 2 (01:23:29):
The end is so good that I mean after the bell,
just just for that, I think it's worth watching.

Speaker 1 (01:23:36):
Yeah, So fast forward to the twenty one minute mark
of this match. Because I agree to I agree with Raymond,
like as this match is unfolding. There's like nothing that's being.

Speaker 2 (01:23:52):
Like, not a great match.

Speaker 1 (01:23:53):
It's not a great match. Yeah, So this matchment for
twenty five minutes. So at the twenty four minute mark
of this match, fast forward it. If you want to
watch What Not to Do? How to piss off your
audience that you've been building the character for the past
twenty three years and you want to piss off everyone.

Speaker 2 (01:24:16):
Reaction at the pin was also brilliant.

Speaker 1 (01:24:19):
Yeah, but if you want to see what not to Do,
watch that match, watch the ending. If you want to
see great storytelling from someone just from selling a reaction,
like committing to a character that a story is being told,
and how they're reacting in real time, which I know

(01:24:42):
that they knew four hours before the event that the
Undertaker was actually gonna lose. Vince had Vince had to
tell the Undertaker four hours before the match they had
no idea how the match was gonna go, and he
told him You're gonna lose, and the Undertaker was like
for real and he's like, yeah, we want to hey, pal, hey,

(01:25:05):
bal I need you to do this job. No, they
had no idea what I had looked this up. I
think it was sports Kita Squita. They said that uh,
they had interviewed the Undertaker, and the Undertaker did not
know the results of how this match was gonna go

(01:25:26):
until four hours of the match. The Undertaker was arriving
to the arena and they're like, hey, Vince wants to
see you, and Undertaker, Hey, what's up Boss, and the
other Vince like, Undertaker, we're gonna need you to do
the job today. We're gonna put over Brock because Brock
needs to win and he's the future and and Mark

(01:25:51):
is like for real and Vince is like, yes, he's
the future. You're gonna retire. I'm gonna take care of you,
and that's it's.

Speaker 2 (01:26:00):
Going to be.

Speaker 1 (01:26:01):
And then it takes like okay, Boss might be.

Speaker 2 (01:26:04):
A second best reaction prior to a match ever going
with Hell and the Cell when Foley told him what
he wanted to do and throw me off and he's like,
you want me to do what?

Speaker 3 (01:26:20):
We were watching the fully documentary and it's been brutal
to watch. I have to finish it.

Speaker 1 (01:26:26):
Yeah, the career of McK foley from w W that
he's always been that rough, but he should not.

Speaker 2 (01:26:36):
Be as coherent as he is. No Yeah, there's I
don't understand how his brains aren't totally scrambled at this point.
Love that man, loved his career.

Speaker 3 (01:26:47):
But that guy, like you know when he was young eighteen,
you know.

Speaker 2 (01:26:52):
He should be like with Biden and some mental wars
and he should be in like a ma recare even it.

Speaker 1 (01:27:02):
You're still okay, Yeah, Nick Foley, if this video makes
it out to you or someone send it to you,
we are great fans of you. Yes, and we love
you very much, and.

Speaker 2 (01:27:14):
Give your daughter my number.

Speaker 3 (01:27:20):
Not only are we visiting the Menia, we're also reconnected.

Speaker 1 (01:27:24):
We're reconnecting hearts.

Speaker 3 (01:27:27):
We're reconnecting hearts.

Speaker 1 (01:27:29):
We'll move on to the next match because we have
and the return of a women's match, because WrestleMania twenty
nine broke the streak where there was not a women's
match for thirteen sixteen years. I think they had a
match and they broke the streak Lash WrestleMania, and now

(01:27:50):
the women's are back on the card. Second, Yes, Vicky
Guerrero Invitational match. We had fourteen divas, Sanna Delicia, Fox,
the Bellas, Cameron, Naomi, Emma, Layla, Natalia, Rosa Mendez, Summer Ray,

(01:28:15):
and Tamina, who was like a J Lee's bodyguard. Is
this match went for how long?

Speaker 3 (01:28:24):
Six?

Speaker 2 (01:28:26):
Yes?

Speaker 1 (01:28:27):
Raymond, what do you have to say about the Vicky
Guerrero Invitational?

Speaker 2 (01:28:32):
I mean, I love a J She's she was a
great worker, and she's a total nerd. Girls that are
into comics always very cool, and she's into Pokemon as well,
So I'm happy she she got the rub. But look
at look at this ring, like what a third of

(01:28:52):
these girls can wrestle? Yeah, like most of them are horrible?

Speaker 1 (01:28:58):
Is it a third list? Let me take the low out.
So we have Alicia Fox, which is decent in the ring,
she's not Yeah, the moment, we have Natalia, we have
some ray we can skip down. Yeah, we have Viva Marie,
who that only failed the first time that she's in here.

(01:29:19):
She failed the second time when they resign her camera's
right behind Lilian. She's also failed. Layla Nope, Oxana which
is forefront here by the Rose with the silver and
care Emma, which Emma can go over the second time.
Can work though, Yeah, But like she tried to come
back to.

Speaker 2 (01:29:39):
W w E with her Yeah, didn't she have? Like
Emma is coming for like six months.

Speaker 1 (01:29:47):
Uh and then Naomi's here with Temina and I believe
that it's uh Rosa Mendez No, so I think it's less.
It's like maybe one six or something like that, or
this talent can go. So uh yeah, this match the

(01:30:09):
only highlights. And I always hate to give the Bellas
any type of credit, but they at least pulled off
some good topay suicides here. They no one managed to
hit the ropes, no one got caught up by the roads.
And then a face plant or anything like that.

Speaker 2 (01:30:27):
Well that's because they also had people catching them.

Speaker 1 (01:30:30):
Yeah, but at least, like you know, that's normally like
a problem like you might encounter with a topay And
like the Bellas are like not the most coordinated people.

Speaker 2 (01:30:41):
But they're they're live women, so topay isn't too bad
for them. Like if a fat guy is doing it,
it's much harder.

Speaker 4 (01:30:49):
Like who was that guy in uh oh who had
that really bad botch in that in that hip hop
group with a Shante the Adonis, the other guy that's
in TNA now he had that really bad botch?

Speaker 1 (01:31:06):
Oh my god, I know you're talking.

Speaker 2 (01:31:10):
Yeah, that guy.

Speaker 1 (01:31:11):
I can't think of his name because I don't watch
t NA. Fortunately, there's like if anything, if I like,
yes I watch wrestling, get some of my wife's nerves.
What she's like, what do you watch more wrestling to?
If I always have a choice on what I'm gonna watch,

(01:31:33):
it's gonna be w W E a W in New Japan.

Speaker 2 (01:31:40):
It's hard to watch a W man. I can't. I
can't do it, and I can't watch the whole show.
I can only watch highlights now.

Speaker 1 (01:31:46):
And that's how it is with me right now with
n x T or I can't watch the whole show.
I can only watch highlights.

Speaker 2 (01:31:52):
I can't even get the girls like they have like
five of the same girl in n x T. I
can't tell them.

Speaker 1 (01:32:00):
So this match, getting back to this thankfully ends with
AJ putting the the Black Widow yeah or whatever. Sure,
but Naomi doesn't willingly actually tap. I couldn't find this thing,
but it actually looks like AG's making her tap for

(01:32:21):
this match to actually end at the six minute forty
eight second mark, Maria, would you recommend anyone to go
out there and watch this Vicky Guerrero invitation?

Speaker 3 (01:32:34):
This is the past for me. Although I was really
excited to see Women's Magic one a women's match after
we haven't seen one in so long. I am a
fan of aj I am definitely a fan of Nanny
and Naomi. So they're still wrestling now, you know. Yeah,

(01:32:56):
like you said, those women can go love their outfits,
but can I say, hey, you should definitely watch us
even develops fins making their moves and also kind of
like not as fluid as I thought it could be
and rehearsed, but you know, you know you're rehearsing this,
but it just like a little force to me, So

(01:33:17):
I'd say pass.

Speaker 1 (01:33:18):
And that's what I told you, is like I hate
to kill many type recrams, but they only had like
the most like decent spot of this match. This match,
I don't recommend anyone go out and watch this match.
These are one of the last few matches that we
have with aj Lee. She does retire about like maybe
three months after this, after the Payback pay per view.

Speaker 3 (01:33:39):
I believe.

Speaker 1 (01:33:40):
Yeah, she loses the match. Yeah, so she loses her title.
Spoiler alert for newer fans who are watching this and
looking for recommendations. Aj does lose the following night to
Monday Night Raw, which is a premise of the movie
Fighting for my with my family. That is the life

(01:34:01):
and career of Soriah Bevis Beavis. Yes, we did watch
it because it's life the time, Life story. Florence played Soriah,
which is at this time known as Page. She makes
her NX. She jumps from NXT and makes her w

(01:34:22):
w E main roster debut the following night on Monday
Night Raw, she challenges a j Lee an impromptu match
and she ends up capturing the Divas title, which I
think after that gets is it? After that match, it's
like the next one, it gets changed.

Speaker 3 (01:34:40):
Where is Page?

Speaker 1 (01:34:41):
Page is now in a e W where she goes
by her real name soria.

Speaker 2 (01:34:47):
Which was her mom's wrestling name.

Speaker 1 (01:34:51):
Mm hmm.

Speaker 2 (01:34:52):
And in the movie, her mom is played by Circe Lanister.

Speaker 3 (01:34:55):
Oh yes, I'm movie.

Speaker 2 (01:35:00):
Yeah, I love that movie. Yes, I don't love this match, but.

Speaker 1 (01:35:07):
If you do want to watch something entertaining, go watch.
Maybe we should do a bonus episode movie.

Speaker 3 (01:35:21):
I would, but I would not revisit this match with that.

Speaker 1 (01:35:29):
Working to the final part of this WrestleMania match, Daniel
Bryan the Fat the Triple A should be part of
this triple threat main event for the w w E
and the World Heavyweight Championship. They're unified as one belt
right now, they're not separate versus Randy Orton and Blue

(01:35:55):
Tis I mean Budtista.

Speaker 3 (01:35:57):
People had on the audience.

Speaker 1 (01:36:00):
It goes for twenty three minutes and twenty seconds.

Speaker 3 (01:36:07):
Maria, I forgot about the book that you said he wrote.

Speaker 1 (01:36:10):
Bautista wrote the book. You don't remember what he was
talking about.

Speaker 2 (01:36:14):
Oh yeah, that's what about growing up white? Even though
he's half Filipino.

Speaker 3 (01:36:20):
So we're talking about Bautista, I mean Bautista. You got
me saying it. He's a movie star at this time.

Speaker 1 (01:36:28):
Right, Well, he had just already wrapped filming the Guardians
of the Galaxy movie Guardians of the Galaxy one, because
it actually releases in theaters in August of twenty fourteen.

Speaker 3 (01:36:39):
Right, so one of my favorites.

Speaker 1 (01:36:43):
So where are you getting it?

Speaker 3 (01:36:45):
I don't remember. Oh, well, he's he's multi talentin.

Speaker 2 (01:36:50):
No, he's he's a funny actor. Oh.

Speaker 1 (01:36:57):
I think what she's getting that ringmen is like he's
a movie star or he's in movies. Not a lot
of people can make a living being in movies and.

Speaker 2 (01:37:07):
Make a lot of money sucking at wrestling.

Speaker 1 (01:37:10):
Yes, exactly, or writing. I guess the middle of the
road bestsellers too about their lives. Yeah, I can't be
Mike Polis, who have written many books, even children books
and things like that. But let's get into this match
that goes into since it's a triple threat match, has

(01:37:32):
no d q's and no count outs. This, also, for
people that are keeping score, is actually Randy Orton's third
triple threat match at a WrestleMania pay per view. So, Maria,
what did you think of this match?

Speaker 3 (01:37:55):
I thought it was pretty cool, but again, I'm surprised
that this was the main event. Have we seen a
triple threat does the mean event before?

Speaker 1 (01:38:03):
Yes, we have. I just told you rang Orton was
in three of them. Remember Randy Orton had a triple
threat match with triple h I think it was John Cena, yes,
and then the second one before this, it was Randy Orton. Uh,

(01:38:24):
Kurt Angle maybe because Kurt Angle was in a triple
threat match too. And I forget who else.

Speaker 2 (01:38:29):
Was in Mercelmania twenty who was a triple threat? Yeah
for the title.

Speaker 1 (01:38:33):
Yeah, so Ben Wah, Ben wash Angle.

Speaker 2 (01:38:40):
And Sean And that's when Sean super kicked his way
into signing the contract, which I still want to try.
I still remember when that happened.

Speaker 1 (01:38:50):
If you were ever signing any contracts for large amount
of sons of money, you can just superkick. Try what
Raymond is sounding about. Kick somebody and then you signed
your name on that contract and you tried to collect
on the funds and you let us know if that
works out.

Speaker 2 (01:39:08):
How does that even work because it's not like Sean's
name was on the contracts, he just signed it. That
was one of the dumber wrestling moments ever, although the
Wyatt six recently topped it.

Speaker 3 (01:39:21):
HM, Yes, what any think about that?

Speaker 2 (01:39:24):
Matt Tree, Well, it loses points for Batista because I
was never a fan of him as a wrestler, love
him as a comedic actor. I think he's hilarious. Never
liked his wrestling, hated his promos. And Randy This is
when I was. I didn't like Randy early in his career.

(01:39:46):
Always thought he looked great and could wrestle well, but like,
what is your gimmick? You're a dick?

Speaker 3 (01:39:52):
I asked, what is a what is the thing?

Speaker 2 (01:39:55):
You know? But as as he's gotten older, I appreciated
his work more for his longevity and consistency but you know,
I'm Brian Danielson guy. So I'm happy with the way
this match went and the yes movement as anyone who
watched the beginning of this show was so tremendous at

(01:40:19):
this point that I was happy for him. I mean,
this is a guy that I watched in like high
school gym's friends of my friend met him several times
at this point, and the right guy won, so that
that made me happy. But you know, Batista still sucks

(01:40:40):
at wrestling.

Speaker 1 (01:40:43):
Yes, And would you have been happy if they had
gotten the Rock because that was the original Like Batista
was not like in the books as coming back, even
though Seeing Punk said that he was. But Vince's original
plan was to bring back the Rock and had him
challenge it get for a title, whether it was gonna

(01:41:04):
be with John Ceno, Ranton Norton, so fantasy booking what
if moments? If this had been the Rock Randy and
Daniel Bryan, would that have made you feel a little
bit better about this match?

Speaker 2 (01:41:18):
Well, then I would know the Rock is definitely not winning.
I'm not a fan of giving titles to part time guys.
Logan Paul for example, that like what has he had
two title defenses in the last year or whatever. Yeah. Yeah,
I mean the Rock is part time at this point,

(01:41:38):
so I don't think he should be in championship matches,
although it's like he's gonna get it with Cody.

Speaker 3 (01:41:44):
So yeah, I'm taking a triple threat with Randy and
Brock and Daniel instead of the Undertaker.

Speaker 1 (01:41:57):
Instead of Undertaker. There's about that. I am. I'm it's
been how many years and I'm still Dan. Yeah, it's
been ten years since the streak ended, and this this
is what I like about us having done this retrospective.

Speaker 2 (01:42:17):
Yeah, it's really interesting the reactions.

Speaker 1 (01:42:19):
And because it's like you wouldn't have never known this
if I just were like, hey, let's just go to
wrestle in your forty I'll expect everything to you and whatever.
And now you have like that same type of like
commitment to like you've seen everything that we've seen since
the very beginning right up until like you skip now,

(01:42:42):
because we skipped when we stopped recording. We were like
at twenty we had just finished twenty, so you were
missing like ten years of wrestlmingia input into your little brain. Here,
my little brain.

Speaker 2 (01:42:54):
You shouldn't tell your wife she has a little brain.

Speaker 3 (01:42:57):
That's never We're going to talk about that after this fun.

Speaker 2 (01:43:05):
So, by the way, I need I need a favor.
When you make clips, can you do a clip of
me saying how a really good comedic actor but a
crap wrestler. I'll yeah, no, post it on YouTube so
it lives forever.

Speaker 1 (01:43:24):
So uh, but do you recommend this match to anybody?

Speaker 3 (01:43:28):
I think it's much just fine, you said Daniel Brian winning.
I agree with his win here the crowd loved it.
He was doing some yes kicks and everybody was like
really excited about that. Everybody's excited about this win. I'm
happy that he won. But I say, watch it, sure,
watch it. Could I have thought of another person as

(01:43:50):
part of this triple threat aside from Bautista? Yes, Like
I said, even a Barack would have been fine in
this triple dot? So what do you think?

Speaker 1 (01:44:01):
I think that this is a match worth revisiting, not
only if only. I'm sorry, that is what I'm trying
to say. Because of the storyline that was built up
for Daniel Bryan. This was like the ultimate how you

(01:44:22):
get an underdog over story arc. You had the underdog
going up against the authority. Quote unquote the on screen
bad guys of the company. Not only do you have
your main bad guy lose, so he continues his journey

(01:44:45):
in quest of the WWE and World Heavyweight Championship titled,
but you also try to interfear in that match, because
after Daniel is coming out hot, you would come out there,
Stephanie and Hunter and you try to go ahead and

(01:45:05):
try to stick it to Daniel Brian, and Daniel Brian
does his little tope here to take out the breath
that they bring in and Hunter and Stephanie, and when
Hunter also tries to get himself on the apron, he
takes a knuncle sandwich as they would say back in
maybe the forties.

Speaker 3 (01:45:25):
Yeah, and Brian, he's like a Metsays guy, but he
has a big heart and I think he grove to us.

Speaker 1 (01:45:34):
That's the best part. I think of the character that
he's built over the years, that he has proven like
he has many ways of being able to get a
victory over his opponent or like remember I mentioned to you,
like maybe two shows ago when we did the Wrestlming
your rewatch with how they were building at Bert to Lirio.

(01:45:58):
But I always thought that Albert had like that flaw
that he only had a submission move as his finisher,
and it's just limited because there's only so many ways
that you can have what it's that arm bar, it's
just the arm bar. And then there's only so many

(01:46:18):
ways that you could like sequence a move to get
into that finisher. And then they never bothered to flesh
out giving them another type of like finisher or another
way from the finish an opponent or tell a story
through those moves and things like that. There was one
spine I wanted to talk to you about where it

(01:46:39):
looks like they do like a combination Baptista bomb and
an r KO. Yeah, that's cool, and that move is cool,
but the bump that Randy takes on this monitor, like
this monitor is right by this back was, as Carlino say,
not cool because he ends up getting like a big

(01:47:00):
welt and like cut around that, and I think it
message ably that's.

Speaker 2 (01:47:06):
His fault though, that's that's not anyone else. Well he yeah,
it's it's on him to land properly.

Speaker 1 (01:47:16):
But that monitor is not on there, and I think
it's just like when they threw it, it just landed
right underneath where the table was gonna break, so maybe
they should just like not have thrown it underneath or wherever,
like thrown it more outside. I get what you're saying,
but yeah, no, I understand your point too.

Speaker 2 (01:47:35):
But it also makes me appreciate a thing we saw
in the last pay per view where they did the
table spot and the monitor even though it's the little
ones now they use the LEDs, but Graves made sure
it was clear to protect the other guys. I like,
that's a good announcer, but you can also tell he
was a worker.

Speaker 1 (01:47:55):
He knew to do that, and he pointed out because
there's been like a lot of head shots with chairs
being done, not only on a w especially with the
blood and guts show that they have with a W
on Dynamite, but also with like you mentioned, the previous
uh w w E Money in the Bank pay per view.

(01:48:16):
But Cory Graves even tweeted out that you know, you
should always no matter if they tell you the chairs
gimmicks or whatever, you should always be careful with those
chair shots to the head because.

Speaker 2 (01:48:27):
His career ended because because of concussion stuff. But I
think Jack Perry should get hit in the head as
much as he wants.

Speaker 1 (01:48:38):
If he wants if he gives you the okay, I
mean you have no choice but to do it. I
mean I understand as much as I'd.

Speaker 2 (01:48:45):
Like to like, he shouldn't do that.

Speaker 1 (01:48:49):
Yeah, look, but if he wants to do, like, if
he wants to use real glass, I'm just say, like
through this, let him into hardly. Yeah, Like I know
he was looking out for him, but you sometimes you
just gotta let people make their own mistakes.

Speaker 2 (01:49:09):
But he was asked to talk to him about it.
So yeah, yeah, that guy sucks anyway. He's almost as
bad as Batista.

Speaker 1 (01:49:20):
So yeah, if anything, I do recommend, getting back on
the tangent that we do recommend that my wife and
I my wife does not recommend, right, I think it's okay,
but I do recommend just based on the whole trajectory
of the story arc of Daniel Brian winning the title Raymond.

Speaker 2 (01:49:39):
Yeah, I mean there there are two things about this
match and why I recommended. Brian Danielson's awesome him getting
the moment was excellent, and also the match itself. It
shows how great Brian and Randy are that they can
carry a piece of garbage into a decent match. So

(01:50:03):
with that, and if you want to read the dumbest
book ever.

Speaker 1 (01:50:15):
And with that, thank you very much for joining us
for this.

Speaker 2 (01:50:19):
Yes, oh yeah, yeah, I do stuff. Yeah. On our
pad TV next week we are reviewing Wolverine or Deadpool
and Wolverine. It's actually going to be a fatal four
way got four people in the mix. I'm excited to
talk about this movie. I know you guys haven't seen

(01:50:40):
it yet, but it's definitely one of the biggest spectacles
I've ever seen. Not sure how it is is a movie.
I'm gonna actually see it again tomorrow night, okay, but
there's so much if you're a comics nerd at all,
or an mcu nerd, or if you're a Fox Marvel nerd,
which I don't know if there are those, there's so

(01:51:03):
much in this movie that it's it's kind of phenomenal.
It's the most brilliant piece of fan service I've ever seen.
Not sure how good it is as a movie, So
that will be a conversation.

Speaker 3 (01:51:18):
Like, is it a great movie? No, what does it
go the audience that they want to see?

Speaker 2 (01:51:22):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's kind of like I think Captain
America the Winter Soldier. Fantastic movie, but I'll watch Civil
War more because it's more fun and it's it's just lighter.
So this Deadpool and Wolverine falls into that category, but
even more so so. We're doing that Thursday, six pm

(01:51:45):
live Pacific time. But please, if you can't make it live,
just go to our pad TV, YouTube and Facebook please and.

Speaker 1 (01:51:54):
Twitch and if you and by Bautista's book if you
haven't noticed, but we have the banner going down to
the bottom where if you were not able to watch it,
or if you can't watch this video like we do,
post the audio on all major podcasts networks, whether it's Apple, Spotify,

(01:52:14):
podcast Streaker, anywhere you get your audio fixed or podcasts,
it should be there. But if it's not, let us know.
This episode will be going up on Monday the twenty ninth,
and you can follow us on Twitter and Facebook and Instagram.
And we're visiting Mania, Maria. Do you have anything else?

Speaker 3 (01:52:37):
Until next time, keep the Wrestlmania spirit alive and we'll
catch you on the next episode of Revisiting the Mania.
Take care and stay tuned for more wrestling nostalgia.
