L’articolo mette una lente d’ingrandimento sull’idea della possibile lotta tra uomo e macchina. Partendo dalla finzione cinematografica, analizza l’impiego attuale e (probabilmente) futuro delle macchine e, nello specifico, dell’intelligenza artificiale.Nel concentrarsi su positività e negatività dell’appaltare sempre più operazioni a parti “non-umane”, l’autore conclude il suo intervento con la fondata certezza dell’impossibilità della creazione di macchine cognitive “simili all’uomo”.
