Due episodi della Prima Guerra Mondiale furono particolarmente formativi nella “educazione politica” di Antonio Gramsci: la rivoluzione bolscevica e la disfatta militare italiana a Caporetto. Gramsci intuisce la necessità di un nuovo legame tra attacco e difesa, guerra di movimento e di posizione.L’articolo indaga le innovazioni strategiche indotte nel pensiero politico europeo con la Prima Guerra Mondiale e con le tesi di Giulio Douhet e le loro conseguenze nel pensiero Gramsciano e Comunista dello stesso periodo.Gramsci conosceva Douhet e aveva letto anche il celebre “memoriale” che Douhet aveva stilato contro Cadorna e che gli era valso la degradazione e la condanna a un anno di carcere. Se Douhet fu un critico radicale di Cadorna, Gramsci fu un critico radicale del “cadornismo politico”. Cioè di una politica tutta assalti, violenza, avanguardismo.
