Speaker 1 (00:00):
So we're getting closer to the end of the Liquor
Gamer podcast. I thought would be nice to cover one
of those games that, as soon as it came out,
created a lot of hype and then they just kept
making games.
Speaker 2 (00:17):
They have made a lot of time.
Speaker 1 (00:20):
So I only played typically not a Grand Theft Daughter
like the last show we did, but I typically only
play number games, right, Okay, So if you have a
one come out like a Halo, right, and then you
have Halo two come out, and then you have four
games in between, and then Halo three, I'm probably just
gonna skip all the garbage.
Speaker 2 (00:41):
That is a bad attitude.
Speaker 1 (00:43):
Oh you didn't play ODST. It's like, no, is anybody
in it that I care about?
Speaker 2 (00:47):
No?
Speaker 1 (00:48):
Not everything is a non cannon to play Halo Wars, No,
I didn't. Is it Halo four? No, it's Halo Wars.
Speaker 2 (00:57):
There must be some franchise that you like where you
want to play all of it.
Speaker 1 (01:03):
I mean I played fall Out in New Vegas. Okay, yeah, yeah, and.
Speaker 2 (01:08):
It's not four.
Speaker 1 (01:11):
But I mean, yes, there are franchises I guess that
I will make exceptions for. But it turns out the
franchises I like don't really make a lot of games.
Speaker 2 (01:21):
Yeah, I've noticed that about you.
Speaker 1 (01:24):
It doesn't really work out. But this franchise I love.
They just made too many games, in my opinion, So
I did skip over apparently a lot of the good ones.
According to you, I played the vast majority of them.
There's a more handful that I have not. So we
have Assassin's Creed, Assassin's Creek two, and then in between.
Speaker 2 (01:42):
What do you want to fail the trivia?
Speaker 3 (01:44):
Oh no, I'm just going over the I'm just going
over the toes. Okay, We'll put it off as long
as possible.
Speaker 1 (01:49):
Okay, Sassin's Creed, Assassin's Crek two. Then we have Brotherhood Revelations,
then three, then Black Flag, and then what's the island?
Speaker 2 (01:57):
You have Rogue Rogue in the recent one syndicate.
Speaker 1 (02:02):
Syndicates three more games, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine games.
Speaker 2 (02:09):
I'm gonna go hand Throwing Liberation because they did bring
it to console, so ten ten.
Speaker 1 (02:14):
It's a little much like when horror movies go off
the deep bend. That's where we're at. So I quit
playing after three because I got sick of these little
silly spinoff games.
Speaker 2 (02:33):
Oh man.
Speaker 1 (02:35):
Even though I liked the pirate stuff in three the
ship stuff I.
Speaker 3 (02:39):
Did not get four.
Speaker 2 (02:40):
I actually did not like that.
Speaker 1 (02:41):
Nobody nobody did. That's why I thought it was weird.
When Black Flag was coming out, I was like, what.
Speaker 2 (02:46):
But it's so good at Black Flag, like Leaves and Bounds?
Speaker 3 (02:49):
Is it as good as sid Meier's Pirates?
Speaker 2 (02:53):
Of course? All right, I want the trivia and I
wont the trivia as well. I did keep it only
to the number based games and his request.
Speaker 3 (03:04):
I appreciate it.
Speaker 2 (03:05):
So I expect you to do well, right, No, no.
Speaker 3 (03:08):
No, because you have been very rude.
Speaker 2 (03:11):
You know what? This one? I was very nice because
I could have went and like pulled a bunch of
historical things and like been such a jerk, like what's
the city next to Jerusalem that you visit? But I
didn't do that. Okay, So number one name? You got?
This name the main protagonists of the Assassin's Creed trilogy.
Speaker 1 (03:33):
So Desmond Miles, Yes, okay, okay, why did you? Why'd
you softball me just to make me look like an idiot?
For the other nine, I guess.
Speaker 2 (03:45):
Number two name the four assassins of the new Mirric
Assassin Creed games.
Speaker 1 (03:53):
Uh, I mean I'm really just gonna stick with I'll
tell you're a Nancio.
Speaker 2 (04:00):
Okay, you feel I get I get no no, no,
no no. I said, name the four and you gonna gave.
Speaker 1 (04:06):
Me two, and I get a fourth point for each one?
Speaker 3 (04:09):
No no way, what no way Shenanigans is.
Speaker 2 (04:14):
I'll tell you et c O Edward? What was the Connor?
Connor from three?
Speaker 1 (04:20):
Edward is a pirate. I only know that because the
character is loosely based on a character named Edward from
something else.
Speaker 2 (04:29):
So, okay, good, I didn't a good thing. I didn't
use that trivia question.
Speaker 3 (04:33):
Oh, okay, that's been funny.
Speaker 2 (04:37):
So one two, number three, one and a half. Fine, man,
you're just greedy for points in any type of way
one and a half, okay, getting errors and all types
of number three. Originally in Assassin's Pree one, okay, there
was going to be it was going to be a
Prince of Persia spinoff. What was the title of that
(04:58):
game going to be?
Speaker 1 (05:00):
Oh that's kind of cheap because it was supposed to
be Prince of Persia assassins. Okay, yes, I'm surprised that
you did know that, though, well I didn't.
Speaker 2 (05:09):
I didn't know that until I read that.
Speaker 3 (05:11):
Oh, okay, are you not a fan of Prince of Persia?
Prince like the movies?
Speaker 2 (05:16):
No, I didn't watch the movie, and I like Jake
Jones anyway, I guess Imre's sister.
Speaker 3 (05:23):
Actually even.
Speaker 2 (05:26):
Number four, what is the name of the company that
makes the Memories of the Assassin's Creed games and of
you know the words like like you know, the whole
game series is Memories of the.
Speaker 3 (05:43):
Assassins taken from the animates?
Speaker 2 (05:45):
But what is the name of the company?
Speaker 1 (05:49):
Okay, So it's kind of confusing, just because in four
it's a different company, right.
Speaker 2 (05:55):
No, it is? Well, yes, and no, I.
Speaker 1 (06:00):
Think the half point for the animus, well L isn't
l A? Yeah, it's an A, right, I guess o.
Speaker 2 (06:17):
Horbo as it is Absturgo, Absturgo.
Speaker 3 (06:23):
And then what's the name of the one in four
the video game Coming.
Speaker 2 (06:27):
Entertainment, which is a subdivision of them making money off
of what they're really doing?
Speaker 3 (06:36):
Okay, Absturgo.
Speaker 2 (06:39):
So you've got two out of four, two and a.
Speaker 3 (06:42):
Half out of four, yeah, Absturgo.
Speaker 2 (06:45):
Goodness. Number five, what are the two ways to travel
besides walking and fast travel? In all the Assassin Creer games.
Speaker 3 (06:57):
Do you want two more besides that?
Speaker 2 (06:59):
Well, there's there's only two more besides that, but.
Speaker 1 (07:03):
I mean there's different games like in their Horse and Carriage.
Speaker 2 (07:08):
What is your answer?
Speaker 3 (07:10):
Well, that's what I mean. That's what I was gonna say.
Speaker 2 (07:14):
You fail because it's horse and boats naval ships. Those
are two ways you travel in the game, the naval
ships and one there's no in all the games.
Speaker 3 (07:25):
Oh you want me to combine them?
Speaker 2 (07:26):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (07:27):
Halfpoint?
Speaker 2 (07:27):
Okay? Oh my goodness, did I not say worse? You did?
But you did say boats because there real horses in
three or four?
Speaker 3 (07:35):
So okay, I've had three.
Speaker 2 (07:37):
Oh my goodness, man, is this what you did in school?
Like you made your teacher give you points? Honestly?
Speaker 3 (07:49):
Kind of?
Speaker 2 (07:50):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (07:50):
I mean I would definitely.
Speaker 2 (07:54):
Number six. Which game was the first that allowed you
to swim?
Speaker 3 (08:01):
Too?
Speaker 2 (08:02):
Okay? Do you know why? Just for kicks? Why? Well,
why you couldn't swim in the first one?
Speaker 3 (08:08):
I'm assuming it was harder to like create.
Speaker 2 (08:13):
Ubisoft claimed that the animis did not have the capability
to have you swim.
Speaker 1 (08:22):
So they blamed on the They actually blanded on something
in their game.
Speaker 2 (08:29):
Interesting. Yes, it's very interesting. I couldn't, like, I can't
fathim being an assassin who can do all this parkurd
and all this stuff, and you can't swim darn knight animus. Okay,
so what do you got now? You have four? Four
(08:51):
out of seven? Yeah? Seven? Now what is the hidden
ability that all the assassines have allow them to see
unseen things? Oh?
Speaker 1 (09:03):
I'm gonna get this wrong, but I should get a
half point ego vision. You got it right, Okay, I
didn't still want the half point no ego.
Speaker 2 (09:15):
Vision, this one you kind of cheated.
Speaker 3 (09:18):
But which one we're talking about?
Speaker 2 (09:21):
The next question? Then the machine that uses DNA from
Desmond and others half.
Speaker 3 (09:28):
Point for the other one? Seven or six?
Speaker 2 (09:33):
Uh? You know what, let's just give you a seven.
Let's just put a curve on it. Number nine. In
the opening cinematic of Assassas cree one, what weapon does
alter you're used that is not usable in the game.
Speaker 3 (09:52):
Oh, so it uses a weapon and it's not usable
in the game.
Speaker 2 (09:59):
You know the opening scene where he's like trying to
save the guy from getting hung and.
Speaker 1 (10:04):
He doesn't use his blade. He doesn't use his blade
in the opening. He does he does both. Uh, I
don't know.
Speaker 2 (10:16):
It's his sword. It's a crossbow.
Speaker 3 (10:18):
A crossbow. I'm trying to think of something I didn't use.
Speaker 2 (10:22):
They wanted to have it in the game, but they
felt like it didn't make sense.
Speaker 3 (10:26):
Well, they added it to the next week. I like
the crossbow. I didn't use it.
Speaker 2 (10:31):
Though, No, not really.
Speaker 3 (10:34):
Like My big thing in two was doubling.
Speaker 2 (10:38):
You know what? Throw? I did actually like throwing knies
though it was very quiet. Yeah, because now you're shooting
guns like everybody. Here's you. I mean, I guess it's primitive. Though,
if you think about it, I guess number ten, the
last one. This one. You're wrong, kid, name, won't you
(11:01):
won't get name? One of the two books that was
most influential in the development of Black Flag.
Speaker 3 (11:10):
A Black Flag.
Speaker 2 (11:17):
I'll give you apple point if you get both.
Speaker 3 (11:19):
No, No, it's fine.
Speaker 1 (11:21):
I would assume, uh, Treasure Island. No, the Pirates with
the wy what I based a card game off that book?
Speaker 2 (11:36):
The answer would have could have been The General History
of Pirates with the Why.
Speaker 3 (11:43):
That's the full title of it. No, I'm not joking.
I don't want a point.
Speaker 1 (11:45):
I don't want to point, okay, now, but that is
general History of Pirates with a y wonder is the
book I based my card game off?
Speaker 2 (11:52):
Ironically the other the other answer would have been the
Republic of Pirates.
Speaker 1 (11:55):
The Republic heard so general History of Pirates. So if
I would have said that, I would have gone, I won. Yeah,
you learn that's okay?
Speaker 2 (12:04):
Seven? Yeah? Seven? Want to wait again? Wait a way
to pass?
Speaker 1 (12:09):
Well, you gotta whatever it takes. I'm gonna buy the
shirt that says born a hustler.
Speaker 2 (12:20):
Oh, if you can only see my face.
Speaker 3 (12:22):
Work hard, hustle harder, hustle hard.
Speaker 2 (12:26):
That's so hard.
Speaker 3 (12:27):
That's me. I just hustled up.
Speaker 2 (12:30):
Yeah, taking advantage of errors on the previous ones.
Speaker 1 (12:33):
And man, So two thousand and seven, Assassin's Creed came out.
Speaker 3 (12:42):
What do you think of? Where would you rank this
in franchises?
Speaker 2 (12:46):
Top ten? For you? Oh? Yeah, yeah? Oh for me? Yeah,
I think it's the best newest franchise since the PS
three Xbox three sixty era. Okay, And I say that
because of the amount of content that's shoved into the game,
(13:07):
even though people give it a lot of bad rep
for various different reasons. I can't think of any French
as that has come out within the last ten years
that has this much, this many installments with a whole
lot of content that's all connected. Right, maybe maybe you
could go with mass Effect.
Speaker 1 (13:25):
Maybe you only got three it kind of halted, so.
Speaker 2 (13:32):
I don't know. I think it's definitely up there. Okay,
I think it just deserves a respect.
Speaker 3 (13:39):
What's your favorite sets in the screen game?
Speaker 2 (13:43):
It normally would be Brotherhood, but Black Flag is really
pushing the Yeah, so it's worth buying.
Speaker 1 (13:52):
It definitely is ill. You know, I just gotta pierce
for it. So I just bought it for real cheat.
Speaker 2 (13:58):
I originally had no intentions of ever playing another Side
of Screak.
Speaker 1 (14:02):
Game because the trilogy it just gets supposed to be. Well,
the trilogy was supposed to be the end, and it
did fine.
Speaker 2 (14:08):
It did fine, And I'm like, I don't want to
be a pirate and I didn't like the boat stuff
from the previous ones. But it's very, very very deep,
huh if you're into the story. Most people don't follow
the story inside of.
Speaker 1 (14:19):
Creed so because it's so convoluted, but you kind of
have to be a conspiracy theorist to really appreciate.
Speaker 2 (14:26):
And you are.
Speaker 1 (14:27):
I am, I get it now you are crazy ancient
aliens watching.
Speaker 2 (14:36):
But it's very ironic the amount of that they have
dumped in that game to appeal to a wide array
of people.
Speaker 1 (14:46):
So so Desmond is kind of just this bartender who
was kidnapped to be well, I guess it was a
sleep study really right, or tricked into being kidnapped kind
of where you go into a program called the animis
or and then there's the Animus two?
Speaker 3 (15:05):
Is there three of them or four of them?
Speaker 2 (15:08):
That's why I know there's two?
Speaker 1 (15:10):
Okay, So when you go into the Animus you live
the life of your ancestors based off your DNA. So
super cool right right out of the bet. And then
I'm playing this awesome dude who kills people in an
open world, open world. The weapon, even though it's very simple,
(15:30):
for some reason, came off unique and like just awesome.
Yeah right, Not a lot of people know his finger's gone.
This finger is missing. I didn't know this that astuallym
So he actually, I'll tell you to remove this finger
so the blade can come out. He's the only assassin
(15:51):
missing a finger because before he died he actually created
a blade that doesn't need your finger to be severed
to use. Interesting but I mean, if you're sitting there
and some dude walks in with the finger miss and
if you've heard the stories, I would probably run, you
know what I mean. So the assassins, you know, the
(16:11):
Assassins and assassins Creed are based off of the a shashion,
which are actually, you know, a real group that existed
during the time of not only the Templars, but like
this middle like Middle Aged time. And even though in
history if you go back and actually do some research,
(16:32):
they weren't necessarily the good guys, and the Templars weren't
necessarily the bad guys, just based off of what they've
done throughout history.
Speaker 3 (16:40):
But still super cool to black.
Speaker 1 (16:44):
So in a way it felt a lot like hit
Man because I love himn hit Man. Like literally they're like, hey,
go kill this guy, and you have unlimited options on
how you want to do it stealthy, you can do
it stealthy ways. Like for me, part of it was
like sniping with hit Man, the newest Hitman. I remember
(17:05):
one of the coolest things, like you go online nowadays.
Back when Hitman first came out, we didn't really have online.
We just kind of had to wing it. But there
they showed like fifty different ways to assassinate this guy,
and back when I was really into achievements, there was
a there's an achievement for going through two window panes,
(17:26):
sniping and then reaching him, and I did it. I
did it, and it was It's pretty epic. Rewarding, Yeah,
very rewarding, and in a way it comes off disturbing
because you're like, wow, I just got a lot of
enjoyment at it. I guess bad for my kids, Like
what's next? You know, you can go so with Desmond,
(17:56):
he didn't really know that his family lineage was based
off of well, murders and more liberators are good.
Speaker 2 (18:04):
You know.
Speaker 1 (18:04):
It just really depends on how you look at that.
The first incarnation was I'll tell year, he's probably still
my favorite. He's definitely still up there because, like my
one of my favorite moments in two is when you
play is out TI Year again. It's kind of like
a flashback within a flashback, and it was good to
(18:26):
see him in that higher quality, right.
Speaker 3 (18:28):
You know, But when you keep.
Speaker 1 (18:32):
Making new games and you just get more and more gadgets,
you try to forget about out TI Year, but you don't.
Speaker 2 (18:37):
Yeah, yeah, and it doesn't help that every game they
allow you to put his role like his costume back home,
like I'm all tight year with a good now doesn't work.
Speaker 3 (18:50):
Because I know who he is.
Speaker 2 (18:51):
I mean just pre said he's immortal. He's just he's.
Speaker 1 (18:55):
Lived through No, because we already have enough reality taken
out of the game.
Speaker 3 (19:00):
Okay, so why make them immortal now?
Speaker 2 (19:04):
Well, you know, it's funny you said that because I
think one of the things about SEZs a Creed it
feels very grounded.
Speaker 3 (19:10):
To me with the alien stuff.
Speaker 2 (19:12):
What aliens? Well, okay, not okay, there's two worlds in
Assassin's Creed. That's like, what's crazy about it. You have
the history that they're trying to portray of real life events,
but then you have this these gods that before civilization
like just kind of out there. Yes, that's out there.
But other than that, like when you're in the animal alien.
Speaker 1 (19:34):
Gods who want to help us save the earth, yes.
Speaker 2 (19:37):
And are trying to resurrect themselves, I think is what
they're trying to do now. But other than that, the
animous world when you are assassine, when you're in places
like Jerusalem, Damascus, Italy, like they feel really grounded they
do so.
Speaker 1 (19:52):
And actually, if you go back even further research wise,
a lot of people that you assassinate of people you meet,
like NPCs, like the Davencian stuff, these were all real people, right, Like,
you might kill this guy, but he was really killed, right,
So I don't know if that makes it better or worse.
Speaker 2 (20:13):
Yeah, kind of insensitive, I guess, right.
Speaker 3 (20:17):
That was my great, great great grace. Not yet, not yet.
How many more are they gonna make?
Speaker 2 (20:24):
I don't know. Hopefully it just goes on forever.
Speaker 1 (20:27):
Because I didn't play all of them, right, I played one, two, three,
But he's dead, right, Desmond.
Speaker 2 (20:31):
Is, which kind of made me upset.
Speaker 3 (20:34):
But how's this working?
Speaker 2 (20:38):
Well, that's what's so awesome about Black About four is
when Desmond died, they pretty much stole his DNA from
his dead corpse to make all these memories that you're
now playing out in side games and four and they've
Abstergo has turned it into a business where they literally
are saying, here's Assassin's Cree four based on on dees
(21:00):
miss DNA. Right.
Speaker 1 (21:02):
I mean, that's probably one of the neatest parts about
the whole deal is that they're taking these memories in
the game and making a video game. And if you
play Watchdogs, if you go to a certain it's kind
of like a neighborhood and you can see through the
walls as to what people are doing in each of
(21:23):
the homes. There's a guy playing Assassin's Creed and his
dad's asking all these questions about this game, and the
kids playing.
Speaker 2 (21:30):
The game cool.
Speaker 1 (21:33):
The file that the game comes up with is the
game is created.
Speaker 3 (21:38):
By Absturg Entertainment.
Speaker 2 (21:40):
Interesting, Sobsturgo exist in Watchdogs.
Speaker 1 (21:45):
And it's actually do you remember the point where the
Absturga guy goes missing? Yeah, okay, you kill him in
Watchdogs and you hide the body.
Speaker 2 (22:00):
I need a boom boom. That would be so epic
if it just all came together.
Speaker 1 (22:07):
But Watchdog's v. Assassin's Creed comes out of the day
batmaner v.
Speaker 2 (22:12):
Superman Boy. I don't want to talk about that anyway.
Speaker 1 (22:19):
Oh, and also, the creator of Absturga tries to sell
the company and Watchdog their operating system, and it's actually
the operating system that the dude uses to hack in
everything it's made by It's created by Obsturga but owned
by the new company. In this game, it's cool. It's
(22:39):
actually cool that UBI Soft or u be Soft or
Ubisoft or ubi Soft. Ye the uh, it's cool that
they've combined all their worlds and you know, they you.
Speaker 2 (22:56):
Know, like I said earlier, I feel like they definitely
deserved that they've gone leaps and bounds from like where
they were in the PS two era as far as
their level of production. When you look at the end
of Assassins Crey game, those credits take forever. It's at
least fifteen minutes.
Speaker 3 (23:13):
There's many not as long as a like Kajima game, but.
Speaker 2 (23:17):
Maybe still, but I means they're pumping out one per year.
There's it's just so much and because.
Speaker 3 (23:23):
I mean there's like why there's Ubis Montreal.
Speaker 2 (23:26):
And there's the you know, all the international students that
they deal with, and they do so much research into
like filling in information in the game, right to try
to have their life, like like you said, all these
real people that they.
Speaker 1 (23:40):
Like, you're killing real people, right, You're interacting with real
historical characters in real places, in real places that are
pretty damn accurate to the world.
Speaker 2 (23:51):
Yeah, I mean real landmarks and stuff, real landmarks. So
I mean, I'm kind of a nerd, Like, like just
last night, I was sitting there going through, you know,
the little catalog of all the landmarks that I passed
in Black Flag.
Speaker 3 (24:06):
Okay, Like I just I'm that.
Speaker 2 (24:08):
Type of guy, Like when I go to the museum,
I want to read every platum. Yeah, so I kind
of do. I kind of do the Assassin's creed after
I've finished the game, Like what did I just all
go through?
Speaker 3 (24:17):
Yeah, that's cool.
Speaker 2 (24:18):
So I'm deep into like the world of what's going on.
Speaker 1 (24:22):
So with two, they made us like the guy pretty quick.
Probably one of the coolest moments is when you actually
go to you know, the compound that's got like all
the assassins like memorials right right, and then you get that,
you get.
Speaker 3 (24:38):
The Mario guy.
Speaker 1 (24:40):
A lot of nods to gaming in these uh in
these games, and I think that's kind of cool for
Ubisoft to do that. I mean, the character obviously didn't
go it's a me, it's a Modio and it's Italian.
And also I mean there's other nods like to U
none of you're solid. There's a cardboard box that you
(25:02):
can get in and these are all into actually most
of these.
Speaker 2 (25:05):
I man, yeah, yeah, two leaps and bounds and it's
just I mean, one of the biggest additions was that
secondary blade.
Speaker 1 (25:14):
Then I used the hell out of like when you
jump on two guards and it's just beautifully tied.
Speaker 3 (25:20):
But you know it was set up for you to be.
Speaker 1 (25:23):
It gives you this accomplishment feel that you just don't
get from a lot of games.
Speaker 2 (25:28):
We know, I remember, I think, correct me if I'm wrong,
but the Year two came out, I'm pretty sure it
was the same as Arkham Asylum and Uncharted Man maybe
not in Charge. There was another big game that came out,
and you're like, you're looking at these three games, which
we're all contenders. It might have been it might have
been it might have been Uncharted, Yeah, because I think
(25:50):
and it's just like you were seeing what next gen
really looked like, because Assassins Creed one to two, like
even just graphically like it, but.
Speaker 1 (25:59):
Actually I have Reaped played one and it doesn't look
very good. It doesn't it funny. But still so.
Speaker 2 (26:07):
As I mentioned, you could swim now, but they you know,
they just even those little things like Frameway was just better.
Speaker 1 (26:14):
Yeah, Like everything that was actually a good year for
it was gaming because I mean two was I mean
it was epic. Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's the highest
rate of Sage Career game too, like Metacritic wise, Yeah,
I think so.
Speaker 2 (26:30):
Well.
Speaker 1 (26:31):
Anyway, two, you know, I mean it was the same
kind of stuff. Really did two have a lot of
play at the end in current in present time? I
think it did, right, Yeah, And you're like running through
and you're doing all this stuff. Yeah, I mean that
was cool. But I was like, is this gonna be
what three is?
Speaker 3 (26:51):
Right?
Speaker 2 (26:52):
Yeah, because basically it Desmion starts to learn that he
is actually an assassin or the animis may soon.
Speaker 1 (26:59):
It triggered, it triggered, it triggered his lineage skills. But yeah, two,
I remember very heavily that you know, you do play
in current time at the end, you escape with the
girl what's her name?
Speaker 2 (27:15):
Oh I forget?
Speaker 3 (27:18):
Does she die in two or three? Three? No?
Speaker 2 (27:21):
No, I'm sorry she does in two. But in the
two art.
Speaker 3 (27:26):
Okay, I know she was dead at some point.
Speaker 2 (27:29):
They really messed me up.
Speaker 1 (27:31):
Yeah, that's why they shouldn't do that. But anyway, two
was good, very solid. I liked the idea of changing
outfits a lot that I wear that blue one a lot.
Speaker 2 (27:40):
You were the blue one about that game? Did you?
Speaker 3 (27:45):
I don't know if I invested that much time into it.
I beat it, but I don't you know what I mean?
Speaker 1 (27:50):
As well as Assassus Creator games you beat, but doing
all of it, it's kind of like how Arkham City
and you know the Hellos games, Arkham Knight and stuff.
I just like, do you really want to go find
all these?
Speaker 2 (28:02):
And I shouldn't want to, but I do.
Speaker 1 (28:05):
Yeah, that's why you can't play like fall Out and stuff.
Speaker 2 (28:09):
I try it.
Speaker 3 (28:10):
I mean, hurt, What are you gonna do it?
Speaker 2 (28:13):
Just picking up every single cup or bottle cap and
little nick knacked.
Speaker 3 (28:18):
Turn it come into a couch.
Speaker 1 (28:19):
I said that last time you are But I just
I don't like the idea that I might miss something.
Oh you're going to miss something because I mean, once
you choose a faction, you cut off an entire two
entire groups really almost three depending That urged me. But
you have to make a choice, just like you in life.
You have to make a choice and stand by.
Speaker 2 (28:39):
I make choices that I won't lose. How's that saying
fall Out?
Speaker 3 (28:44):
You're gonna lose someone or the other? All right?
Speaker 1 (28:48):
So after two was Assassin's Creed Brotherhood and what was
that stupid revelations? I heard you get more story though, right,
like more alien stuff you did.
Speaker 2 (28:57):
It started starts to anticify, but in relations you actually
get to go back and play all tire year as well.
Speaker 1 (29:03):
Yeah, okay, I mean I'm just not interested in these spinnis.
Speaker 2 (29:08):
I will just say this. And Brotherhood they had the
best feature that they have yet to bring back, where
you can recruit normal people that you save up the street,
train them up to be as sash, Like you literally
have to train now, and then you say I want
seven of you to come with me, and they're just
being hiding. And if you see a bunch of guards
(29:28):
that you need to take out, you just whistle. They
all throw the knives or they come down and tack them,
and you just keep on about your business.
Speaker 3 (29:34):
That's a good point too. Had a ton of distractions, yes,
which one did.
Speaker 2 (29:39):
One prostitutes was pretty I'm the guy.
Speaker 1 (29:42):
Who threw the money, okay, and when the crowd just
all came over and it's like all right, buddy, and.
Speaker 2 (29:47):
Then the soldiers have to like calm him down. Yeah
that was but I didn't like.
Speaker 1 (29:51):
Waste my money because I wanted to like care make
cool noises react as well. I I gotta say the
NPC stuff and s his creed is unparallel compared to
other games. You've like, oh yeah, when you're walking through
a crowd and he actually puts a hand on a
guy's shoulder and he actually moves through the crowd, it's
just like and it's it's beautiful in a way. Yea,
(30:13):
like if the right music is playing, it's a very
because I always walk slow when I play Assassin Screen.
Speaker 2 (30:19):
Oh yeah, not really. I don't like the spring either.
Speaker 3 (30:23):
Yeah, it's just kind of one of those like you're
just like like.
Speaker 1 (30:25):
You're focused on the guy you're after, right, and you're
just kind of moving through and I don't know, and
then if you need to, you can sit down on
a bench and blend in and there's just all.
Speaker 2 (30:35):
This cool stuff. I just like to like be up
on the roofs.
Speaker 3 (30:38):
You like roofs.
Speaker 1 (30:39):
I feel like that there's there's a bunch of different
kind of players. There's roof players. There's people that hide
in the shadows, and there's people that just go through
the crowd.
Speaker 2 (30:48):
And Black Flag I'm always in the bushes.
Speaker 3 (30:50):
Yeah, always I feel like I was in the bushes
a lot in three.
Speaker 2 (30:54):
I don't Yeah, I can't really remember, so.
Speaker 3 (30:59):
So after you came three.
Speaker 1 (31:01):
One of the reasons I didn't get that trivia question
right is because they didn't know how to say the
Ronto Hong Kong.
Speaker 4 (31:07):
I don't know how to say his name either, But
Connor works well. Yeah, Connor hasway so honestly that had
animus three point zero in that one. Yeah. Uh, I
spent more time hunting than anything else.
Speaker 2 (31:26):
I really didn't enjoy it that much. Why it it
liked purpose for me?
Speaker 1 (31:33):
Definitely lacked purpose, but your character had more of a
I mean it was a redemption story.
Speaker 2 (31:39):
Yeah, yeah, I definitely.
Speaker 1 (31:40):
They give him a story as opposed to giving.
Speaker 2 (31:45):
Desmond a story, right, Yeah, which I didn't didn't like,
But I will say Connor is probably my favorite assassin.
Was that only because, like you.
Speaker 3 (31:56):
Said, he's the beefest you noticed that, But.
Speaker 2 (31:59):
He's also the most docile one. Yeah, Like he's not
out Really.
Speaker 1 (32:04):
He's the scariest from Afar because it's bigger.
Speaker 2 (32:07):
He's bigger than they all have interesting like opening cinematics
like Seo, like he watches his family die, like the
first five minutes of the game, like you usually gravitated
to it, Connors is kind of the same way.
Speaker 3 (32:22):
Yeah, it's child.
Speaker 2 (32:23):
Yeah, but I don't know. I think I just like
the fact that it's like the whole American that's what
you don't like. No, No, that's that's why I like.
I like him in that setting, like, you know, maybe
because it touches home because where Americas I don't know,
So I guess I get it now why Like the
(32:45):
Assassin Creed does so well overseas.
Speaker 1 (32:46):
Now, hell, good point, So we won't have Assassin's Screed
Tokyo coming up? Yeah, Samurai Assassin.
Speaker 2 (32:54):
But uh as far as Desmond goes in three, Like
I just got really disappointed because, you know, sorry if
I was spoiling anything, but you know, he dies, right,
And one of the things that everybody wanted was like,
one day we're going to get a modern day Assassin's Creed.
Speaker 1 (33:13):
We're gonna be That's what I thought three was. Yeah,
and then I saw like George Washington or something, you know,
I was like, right.
Speaker 2 (33:20):
WI team, And still you're like, well, the next thing
has to be like twenty ten.
Speaker 3 (33:24):
Yeah, we can't keep jumping back.
Speaker 1 (33:26):
We can't go a bag at this point, right, you
take a bag at least you're like the sixties or something.
But we didn't get that, So we sure didn't. But
we also didn't expect them to take something people hated
from three and make an entire game out of it.
Speaker 2 (33:41):
Yeah, I don't know. I didn't. I never used that.
I used that both for one mission because you had to,
and that was I enjoyed it. You did, did you,
like like actually building it up and getting a crew
and all that.
Speaker 1 (33:52):
Yeah, but see even in two, I built up stuff,
like you know how you had to build up that
compound where they're all I enjoyed.
Speaker 2 (33:59):
Did you You'd have to run money all over the place.
I did.
Speaker 3 (34:02):
For some reason, I made good money. I made good money.
Speaker 2 (34:05):
I did a lot of stealing, like walking behind people.
Speaker 3 (34:08):
Just what's are probably throwing some money. He worked hard
the ranch, give back to the poor.
Speaker 1 (34:16):
But yeah, I love three, granted, Like my favorite part
of three was it wasn't the weapons, it was the traps.
Speaker 2 (34:22):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (34:23):
If I can set up a spring low trap on
a tree and a guard just literally gets flung up
in the air and I can just go up.
Speaker 2 (34:29):
And it's very unique here, it's a.
Speaker 1 (34:33):
Totally different element because I mean, honestly, you play all
these Assassin's Creak games, apparently there's no trees in Rome.
Speaker 2 (34:41):
Like I was just gonna say that was like when
you watched that trailer, like he's freaking park corners the trees.
Speaker 3 (34:47):
Yeah, like Limb after limb, Yeah, that's nuts.
Speaker 2 (34:50):
It is nice, But.
Speaker 1 (34:52):
After three came four, I did not play four. Even
though I like the pirate stuff, I just wasn't gravitated
to it.
Speaker 3 (34:59):
I don't know why. It's just did an appeal to me.
Speaker 1 (35:01):
I really can't blame you, because like a lot of
these games, you're in places where there's it's not really
like known there's bad guys, you know what I mean.
Like when you think of like Rome or whatever, it's
like you don't really go, well, there's a whole bunch
of bad guys in Rome, or like when you're in
Revolutionary America, it's like, oh, there's evil everywhere. But if
(35:23):
you're a pirate, you know there's bad guys.
Speaker 2 (35:27):
Yea, you are a bad guy.
Speaker 3 (35:28):
You're a bad guy. They're a bad guy.
Speaker 1 (35:30):
It just I don't know, it just didn't have the
same feel. It didn't have that like one and two.
Not to be weird, but it was a sexy time period, right,
Oh yeah, it was like it was beautiful multiple ways.
Speaker 3 (35:44):
The architecture everything.
Speaker 1 (35:45):
Three kind of ignored that and went kind of in
the way of nature where nature was kind of the
the backdrop.
Speaker 2 (35:52):
It was.
Speaker 1 (35:53):
You know, it's beautiful. It was untouched by modern society
that we know. And then fours like what is it
sand and water?
Speaker 2 (36:01):
Is that kind of the lot of islands? Yeah, a
lot of islands. It's the West Indies, So I mean,
I don't you know, I don't think too many people
know a whole lot about that.
Speaker 1 (36:12):
Like they they did do a good job of like they.
Speaker 2 (36:17):
Did like Black Bears there, there's there's a.
Speaker 3 (36:19):
Lot of what's Redhead are joking?
Speaker 2 (36:23):
I didn't know?
Speaker 1 (36:24):
Is he supposed to be read Head? Yeah? And it's
funny they use that book, the same book I used.
Speaker 2 (36:29):
Hm hm. That's interesting. But they I know, they use
places like Nasa, which are real places, but I don't
know anything about them, so they don't really touch home to.
Speaker 3 (36:38):
Me hapen in that so maybe I would.
Speaker 2 (36:41):
Like it, you know, but going out into the ocean
is probably the most exciting thing because you've seen dolphins
and whales and you can actually harpoon and hunt.
Speaker 3 (36:55):
That's probably not right nowadays.
Speaker 2 (36:59):
They maybe not, but you can go into water deep
deep diving and you have to. You can even go
after sharks. I don't. I don't mess with that though.
Speaker 3 (37:10):
I mean there's a lot like why would I get it?
Speaker 2 (37:13):
You would get it because it really is different from
all the other ones, It really is. But it's guns?
Is it all guns? Oh? No? Oh no? I mean he's.
Speaker 3 (37:21):
Definitely more of a stealth guy.
Speaker 2 (37:23):
He definitely has his double blaze and okay, you know
darts just like you know, making people go crazy and
putting them sleep and all that stuff. The gun is
really like, I just don't feel like being sneaky. Sometimes
I do that. But that's why you should get it.
Because it is number four and you only like to
(37:43):
play number games, that's true. And I don't know if
you'll if five is any time soon. I feel like.
Speaker 1 (37:51):
Pushing out all these or should I get the one
on Vida Liberation?
Speaker 2 (37:58):
Yeah? I like Liberation, but I don't don't. I mean,
you can downlo on PS three for ten bucks. Aveline
is actually a really good character because she's a liberator
for the slaves in New Orleans, nice, which is kind
(38:18):
of cool. And she makes cameos in Black Flag and three. Okay,
So the funny thing about three, which I didn't realize
until beating four, is that four actually takes place before three.
Connor is actually Edwards's grandson, Okay. Yeah. And then Rogue,
(38:42):
which is a PIS three game side game that is
Edwards's son, Connor's father Rogue. He's an assassin turned templar
who is going to basically gave revenge on all the assassins.
Real remember in three, like for the first hour you
(39:03):
actually play as a templar. Yeah, it was weird. That's
him from Rogue.
Speaker 3 (39:06):
But you were like, this guy is awesome. It's funny
you play awesome.
Speaker 1 (39:10):
So you're playing three and like, I don't know, it's
a good hour, right if it's so, like you play
this first down and a half two hours and then
like this is great, yes, And then I don't know,
kind of just cuts like after you've burned that they
all ceremony, yeah, the ceremony, and then you like kind
of goes through the scene with you burning down this village, right,
(39:32):
and it's like, wow, this is hardcore, and then it's like,
I'm not even playing as this guy, and then he
plays him as a kid. I think that's why I
people don't like it. Maybe I think that's why because
we never had that. We didn't play as CEO as
a kid.
Speaker 2 (39:47):
No, whoa, I don't know. I like it, but I
was so upset when I found out I was a
templar Like what No, like all these No, I'm not
about that, but you are, so, Yes, you should go give.
Speaker 3 (40:05):
Black Flag, Okay, I'll consider.
Speaker 2 (40:07):
Maybe I just let you borrow.
Speaker 1 (40:08):
We're not finishing, okay, because I'm pretty busy with Fall,
but I'm almost platinum.
Speaker 3 (40:14):
I'm ninety percent.
Speaker 1 (40:16):
Once I'm platinum, I'll create a new character and wait
for DLC. So, no big deal, No big deal.
Speaker 3 (40:23):
The film should be out.
Speaker 2 (40:26):
Next year, I think. So it's only been into Hell
for five.
Speaker 1 (40:32):
Yes, Michael Fassbender will be playing the the main character.
Speaker 3 (40:38):
We're assuming.
Speaker 1 (40:39):
I don't know what they're gonna do. I don't either, Like,
I don't know if they should go the Animus route
at all. No, just do an OUTSI.
Speaker 2 (40:49):
Your movie, should it be implied?
Speaker 3 (40:52):
No, you can do it after the end. You can
do at the end, but don't.
Speaker 2 (40:54):
Make it so like at the end, like oh, this
was all in somebody's head.
Speaker 1 (40:57):
Right, but it's still important, Like some guy wakes up
and he has you know, does that.
Speaker 2 (41:04):
Guy really sell you as an ALTI year though, Nope,
that's what I felt.
Speaker 3 (41:09):
Nope.
Speaker 2 (41:10):
And so I don't know if I even want them
to do that well, like to and go a different route.
I don't know, it's too late. Maybe maybe maybe the
movie a prequel to one. I don't know. I kind
of like I feel the same like Uncharted, Like everybody's
clamoring and excited for Chart, I'm like, Okay, one of
(41:30):
the reasons you love on Chart is because the voice
acting has done so well, like this is these are
the characters. We don't want somebody else to do this.
You don't want the Last of Us movie, Like these
characters have you soul?
Speaker 1 (41:41):
Yeah, Like they're not gonna look exactly, they're not gonna
sound exactly.
Speaker 3 (41:46):
You're not gonna be happy.
Speaker 2 (41:47):
No.
Speaker 1 (41:48):
Like with Assassin's screen, I think you can get away
because there's not a lot of dialogue, especially from the
assassins himself, and unless you do it because he's just talkative,
but he's Italian. Yeah, so, I mean it's really just
I don't know where they're going with it.
Speaker 2 (42:05):
But you know, that's the problem with all movie video games.
I don't care if I like any of them. Yeah,
the characters don't match the characters that you've come to love, right,
Resident Evil being the number one offender?
Speaker 1 (42:18):
Yeah, I think more of comment actually did pretty well. Okay, Yeah,
Halo movies that just can't get around.
Speaker 2 (42:25):
Silent heels are bad.
Speaker 1 (42:27):
Silent hills are bad. What don't you like about Resident
Evil because none of the characters from Residevil, aren't it?
Speaker 2 (42:32):
Not until the fifth one when decided to make Chris
just a little side character.
Speaker 3 (42:36):
Yeah, they made it like a fan surface movie.
Speaker 2 (42:38):
Oh, I guess you had Jill in the second one?
Who still whatever?
Speaker 3 (42:42):
Whatever the real I'm still gonna watch the next one.
Speaker 2 (42:46):
Is there another one? Yeah, there's at least one more.
I think the last.
Speaker 3 (42:50):
Making money off of this or not.
Speaker 2 (42:52):
The funny thing is it's actually done more money every
single installment. No way. Yes, I couldn't believe it either.
The budget got bigger and they also grossed more every
single time, especially when he went to three D.
Speaker 3 (43:06):
Just like Jovo bitch in It as well. Mm hmm, okay,
I like her.
Speaker 2 (43:11):
She's grown on me. I guess.
Speaker 3 (43:15):
Video game movies are rough. It's a rough cell.
Speaker 1 (43:19):
It's hard to uh get any kind of similarity, at
least a master chief. I mean, it was a CG nightmare.
Speaker 2 (43:28):
Like this song.
Speaker 1 (43:30):
This isn't like sometimes when you watch movies that are
like so CG mixed with live action. It's like, I'm
gonna watch who Friend Roger Rabbit. It looked better than this.
Speaker 2 (43:39):
I don't know. I kind of don't have a problem
with CG.
Speaker 3 (43:44):
We'll see.
Speaker 1 (43:44):
I just don't want them to make a movie where
you know, OUTSI year and then it keeps digitizing out
to oh, I see.
Speaker 2 (43:53):
What you mean. I just don't need that.
Speaker 3 (43:54):
I don't need a load give me a load screen
then if you're gonna.
Speaker 2 (43:57):
Go all up that so just like hey, we're in Yeah.
Speaker 3 (44:03):
You can digitize at the end.
Speaker 1 (44:04):
You're digitized in the beginning, maybe once in the before
the climax. Just to give us something that don't don't
make it a huge part of it.
Speaker 3 (44:10):
The aim did.
Speaker 2 (44:11):
If you like it and it does well, would you
like them to go to the rout of the games
like XCO next Connor.
Speaker 3 (44:17):
Different actors.
Speaker 2 (44:18):
I just follow the game work sort of. Okay. I
feel because of your recent podcast, like with Star Wars,
like you liked the games to reflect the movie story wise,
you didn't like side story.
Speaker 1 (44:34):
Well, no, with Knights of the Old Republic, it's all
sides storry. Okay, you know what I mean, because it's
all fake, it's all non canon stuff.
Speaker 3 (44:40):
You can do whatever you want, but with some things
just I.
Speaker 1 (44:43):
Mean, first of all, you're adding history into this, so
you probably shouldn't veer too much anyway, don't make the
alien thing a huge focus.
Speaker 2 (44:52):
It probably will be.
Speaker 1 (44:56):
All right whatever, But anyway, definitely deserves an episode. So
I'm happy that we did it, but I'm not looking
forward to the movie adaptation. I will get Black Flagger
if I wasn't on sale this holiday then missed. Okay,
sat pretty good? Okay, Well, I will definitely look into that.
(45:17):
Hopefully I can play it and give you my opinion
at least before we have our final episode. Yes, all right,
so when I get seven out of ten, right, that's good.
That's better than roll my eyes.
Speaker 3 (45:30):
Well, you can do whatever you want, so until next time,
I believe what else we got on the doctor.
Speaker 1 (45:36):
We got outer scrolls. There's a there's a few upisodes. Yeah,
until next time. My name is Ryan and I'm Dante Tong.
Good gaming, good gaming,
