Speaker 1 (00:00):
Super exciting if you did not know, we're gonna actually
going to start out with the show with the way
we are going to start doing every show. We're going
to do the trivia right out the gate, just so
we don't say I was worried that we're going to
bring up something in the history part that might help
you in the trivia part. So here we go.
Speaker 2 (00:23):
Let's let's do it.
Speaker 1 (00:26):
Number one Kirby's Adventure. We had its roots and a
canceled title, which was announced in two thousand and five.
Intend to announce the traditional Kirby game for the game
Cube at E three two thousand and five and released
a plethora of screenshots. What game was it originally? So basically,
(00:51):
what did they show at E three two thousand and five.
Speaker 3 (00:53):
I remember they showed a four player Kirby games. It
basically turned into Kirby's Returning to dream right, right, But
I don't know what it was before that.
Speaker 1 (01:03):
I'll give it to you. It was actually originally GameCube
Return to Dreamline. Okay, you didn't do that. Number two.
Speaker 2 (01:12):
This is the first time I've ever got question one right,
So I'm gonna.
Speaker 1 (01:14):
Roll yeah where I'm actually pretty happy for you. Number two,
Masterhand and Crazy Hand, antagonists from the Super Smash Brothers
games appear as mini bosses in What Kirby Game?
Speaker 2 (01:27):
Uh Kirby Squeak Squad, Squeak Squad.
Speaker 1 (01:30):
Kirby in the Amazing Mirror, which is actually the game
I have in my hand?
Speaker 2 (01:35):
Okay?
Speaker 1 (01:36):
Sorry? Number three? When unmasked, what does Mennonite look like?
Speaker 2 (01:42):
He looks like a black Kirby.
Speaker 1 (01:44):
So they are the same.
Speaker 2 (01:48):
Uh, I don't.
Speaker 1 (01:51):
Know, well, I mean species two and A three A band?
Speaker 2 (01:56):
Yeah, yeah, this is it? This is it today?
Speaker 1 (02:00):
Number four. Miametto originally wanted Kirby to be what color?
Speaker 2 (02:04):
Yellow?
Speaker 1 (02:05):
Wow? Look at you? That's correct?
Speaker 2 (02:09):
Was my favorite Kirby?
Speaker 1 (02:10):
Oh? Really do you play?
Speaker 4 (02:11):
Is?
Speaker 1 (02:11):
When you do?
Speaker 3 (02:11):
Like?
Speaker 1 (02:12):
Okay? Number five? Interesting? Interestingly, when the first Kurby game,
Kirby Streamline, was released in the West, the final color
of Kirby hadn't been decided, so on the packaging, what
color was he? That's correct? So what do you go?
(02:37):
Number six. Kirby's signature copyability was introduced in what Game.
Speaker 2 (02:44):
Kirby's Adventure?
Speaker 1 (02:46):
That's correct? Which is number two? Right, You're all over
the place? Look at you?
Speaker 2 (02:53):
What price do I get?
Speaker 1 (02:54):
For getting a Why did you get a hundred? You're
gonna get a hundred. Number seven who it's the incompetent
antagonist King Dede in Kirby sixty four and Super Smash
Brothers Brawl wast him.
Speaker 2 (03:08):
That's a fail, Okay, I've never thought about that.
Speaker 1 (03:11):
It was actually Sikorai, the creator of the Kirby series.
Speaker 2 (03:16):
Of course.
Speaker 1 (03:17):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (03:18):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (03:21):
Number eight. Across all the Kirby games, Kirby has over
ninety different copy abilities, including the mixed abilities he can
gain from combining two like in the Sweet Squad and
in sixty four. So Super Smash Brothers franchise. How many
does he have? So obviously not as many, not the
(03:41):
whole ninety. So think about it. He has You can
say over blank, it's over forty, all right, that's what
we have.
Speaker 3 (03:52):
I know it's over forty just because of a roster
and brawl. But then you have to take count melee
character dynamicity.
Speaker 1 (03:58):
Right, Well, that's correct.
Speaker 4 (04:00):
Forty Wow, that's including his own abilities.
Speaker 1 (04:04):
So they got too wrong. Something cheated first, all right?
So number nine. The difference between the American and Japanese
box art and Kirby games, besides language, is.
Speaker 2 (04:17):
What he frowns in one and smiles in the other.
Speaker 1 (04:20):
Okay, that's correct, I feel like this leaked.
Speaker 2 (04:26):
You haven't even been around me for the past few days.
Speaker 1 (04:28):
That's true, you have been away. Number ten. During development,
Kirby was known as.
Speaker 2 (04:35):
Ah I do know this, m I don't know. As
soon as you say, it's gonna like, just go ahead
to hit me with.
Speaker 1 (04:47):
It, Okay, Twinkle Pop Papa. Yes, it's too bad.
Speaker 2 (04:55):
That's not it's definitely not a effort.
Speaker 1 (04:57):
That's too bad, all right, So let's just get in it.
Just say, you know what the Liquid Gamer podcast is.
We talk about video game icon So we've done episodes
on MegaMan, Mario Sonic, and today we're doing Kirby. So
if we did not know, Kirby is a created by
how Laboratory and Nintendo. The designer Mashi Hero Sikorai, which
(05:21):
I mentioned earlier, was the you know, the main go
to for it. There was like I remember when you know,
I read a lot of stuff as far as like
when it was first created, like they had the box
art and they had their name, which was a Twinkle Popopo,
but they kind of just put a filler in forevery
it was just a blob, and they liked the way
(05:42):
it looked so much that they actually made the blob
of the character, which I thought was a neat little
genius story behind the creation. I mean, it was literally
just a blob that they made adorable. Even in the US,
he's always pissed off, he.
Speaker 2 (06:00):
Really is.
Speaker 1 (06:02):
So he's categorized as a small pink ball citizen of
Dreamland and the planet top Starry. Yeah, it's been an
over twenty games since his creation in nineteen ninety two,
which is pretty good. I mean, you know, being an
exclusive character, you don't have a lot of titles usually
(06:25):
unless you just slap your name on it like Mario.
Speaker 2 (06:27):
Right.
Speaker 3 (06:28):
So what impresses me though about Kirby is, you know,
as we're going to go through episode today, we'll see
how consistent his game releases have been and how plentiful
they are. But it doesn't ever feel like he's a
main Nintendo icon. Yeah, it's true, just doesn't feel that way.
Speaker 1 (06:45):
So any think about Nintendo a lot of people. I mean,
first you go to the Mario Brothers, but typically you
go to Link with Legend of Zelda, and then you're
going to go to Simus with mentroid. Right, that's kind
of the tears exactly. Kirby's never really on the list.
I think it's but I think a lot of his
I'm not gonna say disrespect, but a lot of his
(07:06):
lack of being in the spotlight is because he's so handheld.
Speaker 3 (07:11):
Yeah, but that's still I run it because Nintendo's best
selling hardware has always been there handhelds.
Speaker 2 (07:17):
It's just weird. I don't know.
Speaker 3 (07:19):
It sounded like he plays a second fiddle to Mario,
but I've always felt like Kirby's platform as as far
as the genre, even though he kind of branches out
all over the place, is.
Speaker 2 (07:30):
A little more intuitive than Mario. To me.
Speaker 1 (07:33):
Well, I mean even his howers are better.
Speaker 2 (07:35):
Yeah, I mean I don't know, like.
Speaker 1 (07:37):
Maria's never been able to have two abilities, maybe not.
Speaker 2 (07:41):
At the same thing.
Speaker 3 (07:42):
Yeah, yeah, so I don't know, But I mean Kirby's
definitely no slowsh I mean he's you know, like you said,
he's been around since ninety two, so I.
Speaker 1 (07:50):
Mean he's a lot younger than Mario as well. Yeah,
and even younger than simusanlink.
Speaker 3 (07:56):
I just think it's kind of unfortunate that, you know,
how laboratory do such a good job with this iconic character,
but you never feel like you know Kirby's the system
celler a lot of times that you know, you hear
Kirby game. Okay, it's coming out, I'll get it. But
Mario's like, up, it's.
Speaker 1 (08:17):
A day one kind of game where Kirby it'll be
on sale. But that's just that's too bad. That's too
bad because they really are fun, I mean, especially platforming.
Speaker 3 (08:29):
I found I find every Curby game to be more
challenging than any Mario game in terms of the objectives
that are in the game.
Speaker 1 (08:39):
Uh So, if you do not know his abilities, which
started in Kirby's Adventure, he could swallow in essence or
absorb kind of like that that wind gasping, and then
he press down, you get the you have the copy
of the ability that you just engulfed. Correct, which was
(09:02):
a really cool concept. I mean, like it kind of
reminds me kind of when we did the Mega Man episode.
You get the power after you beat the boss, right,
and this is kind of.
Speaker 2 (09:10):
This is a step for farther than that.
Speaker 1 (09:12):
Yeah, because there could be multiple types of enemies in
a level and they could just switch back and forward
what else.
Speaker 2 (09:21):
So so lets so let's do the first.
Speaker 1 (09:24):
Game Kirby's dreamline. He was much fatter, much fatter. He
wasn't as cute, I'll tell you that.
Speaker 2 (09:34):
Yeah, it's kind of interesting.
Speaker 3 (09:35):
Like you kind of talked about the development of Kirby,
I think it definitely shows in the first game. It
was almost like and I think it's interesting that they
chose to debut a game like that on the game
Boy because I would imagine the concept that they had
behind Kirby and what they wanted to do would have
definitely fit the more than a game Boy. And you
(09:59):
know Mario hit Ayes before it came to game Boy.
It was kind of interesting. But the Dreamland for game
Boy had four levels. They were very short, it wasn't
very hard. As you said, there was no copyability, so
you were inhaling people and then spitting them out.
Speaker 1 (10:17):
I mean there was more because you know he can
fly sort of yeah, yeah, fills his body with air
and flaps his little hand things, right, But that that thing.
Speaker 3 (10:29):
That was that was pretty much it for that game,
though it didn't do anything else. So you compare that
to a Mario and you just kind of it just
fell lackluster. Like I went back and played it and
I just was like, I don't I don't see how
this got a second.
Speaker 2 (10:44):
Game at all. But you know, then we moved to
ninety three.
Speaker 3 (10:48):
A year later you have Kurby's Adventure, and even to
this day, I you know, replayed it on the virtual console.
That's a mind blowing any S game. Like you said,
we talked about Mega Man. At the end of the
boss you're collecting power, so you have eight powers, but
I think there's over twenty five powers in that game,
(11:09):
somewhere around sixty five levels. And they had even a
hub world. Like all of that was unprecedented. No game
had a hub world, you think.
Speaker 2 (11:17):
I guess.
Speaker 3 (11:18):
I'm not sure if Mario Super Mario Brothers three came
out before that or not. But it's a beautiful NIS game.
The sad part about it was that it came out
at the end of the Unis life cycle, so a
lot of people didn't get to play.
Speaker 1 (11:29):
It, right, but it is available now it is virtual console.
Speaker 3 (11:34):
It's one of my favorite NYS games, definitely my top
five Curby games still just from the perspective of challenge,
because you know, if you get somebody's ability, but to
get hit you would lose it. You have to chase
it down. They would like floating around the stage at
the start. You gotta go get it to get it back.
Plus you had there was a lot of fun in experimenting,
(11:58):
like what a billion might to get from suckond in
this person. So you spent a lot of the game
just like this this guy looks cool with me and him,
and then you like turn into a wheel and like
you just plowed through a bunch of people.
Speaker 2 (12:11):
So it was it was definitely interesting.
Speaker 3 (12:13):
I'm sure it probably pushed the n Ees to as Yeah.
Speaker 1 (12:18):
So, but one of the reasons, I mean, you know,
just from talking about the first two games, you can
kind of see why Kirby is not at the same
level as Mario. Oh yeah, I mean his first outing
was weak, yeah, and then his second outing was on
a dying system, so bad timing.
Speaker 3 (12:41):
Yeah, you know, I feel like he's always been the
victim of poor, poor marketing and bad timing.
Speaker 1 (12:47):
That's true. He has never been marketed privately. So so
after that the Game Boy, we had Kirby's pinball lands.
I know you do, but he fits so well sounding
it's truby it's true, fitting very well in the pinball world.
But I mean, you have to understand, we were at
a point where, like so many pinball games are coming out.
Speaker 4 (13:09):
There was pinball game, pinball game, Yeah, there was, it
really was.
Speaker 1 (13:15):
So he just was really just following with the curve,
just like Mario follows with the curve of other things
as well.
Speaker 3 (13:22):
But I think that's what's cool about Curby though, is
like I said earlier, we'll see through some of the games,
is he could do a thing like pinball ran.
Speaker 2 (13:30):
I don't Mario doesn't make sense to have a pinball game.
Speaker 1 (13:34):
They like it, But I love every pinball game on
the game Boy Advance. The button, the flippers work.
Speaker 3 (13:42):
Yeah, well yeah, okay, that's control the controls. Yeah, but
you know Pokemon pinball. I know people like that too.
I just I don't know, I don't understand it. I
don't have the pinball player. Maybe i'd even grow up
in that pinball arcade era.
Speaker 2 (13:57):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (13:58):
But no, I think it's cool that Kirby, you know,
because he's a ball and he can do all the
kind of thing he can be in a pinball.
Speaker 1 (14:04):
Land, right, So no, I think it fits perfectly nineteen
ninety four. So I mean, as we said, how consistent
his games are three ninety four right, which we you know,
the shows that we've covered previously. It wasn't like that, right,
there was always fiatus. So ninety four Kirby's Dream Course?
(14:25):
Did you play that?
Speaker 2 (14:25):
Love it?
Speaker 1 (14:26):
What isn't it?
Speaker 3 (14:27):
Is golf basically, but Kirby is a ball and who
hits them? You hit him, So you have to you know,
there's a obviously there's like a hole or a hole
to knock the ball into and you have to bounce
them off the wall.
Speaker 2 (14:44):
Sometimes you have to like pop them in the air.
Speaker 3 (14:48):
A lot of physics based to it, because you can
even apply a spin where you can come backwards or
go forward or sideways.
Speaker 2 (14:55):
He has his abilities in there. So like you say,
if you get the umbrella, you pop him in the air.
You use the umbrella and then you flick to where
you need to go. It's really it was very interesting. Now.
Speaker 3 (15:07):
I think I think it's interesting looking at this list
that it was the first debut on the Superintendo for Kirby.
Speaker 2 (15:15):
So but it's a good game.
Speaker 3 (15:17):
There's a big following for it, especially from the multiplayer aspect.
First multiplayer game for Kirby where the yellow Kirby was introduced.
So interesting, But then after that you had Kirby's Avalanche
was a pollopop?
Speaker 2 (15:33):
Is that how you said? How do you feel about Popop?
I'm not really it's interesting. I like it.
Speaker 1 (15:41):
We'll explain I don't.
Speaker 3 (15:43):
Even really know how to explain it. I think we
talked about this with Doctor Rabidina's Mean Bean Machine on
our Sonic episode. I mean, I guess you compare it
to Tetris. It's not Tetris, but you're lining up beans.
Speaker 2 (15:56):
I believe they are with the same color matching four
they did supier.
Speaker 3 (16:01):
I think at that time, like like you were saying
with the Pinball, we just had a plethora of games
that were following pop.
Speaker 2 (16:10):
But there's nothing unique or special to it. It's just
Kirby thing.
Speaker 1 (16:13):
So yeah, so now that's another poor marketing as far
as Kirby is involved, because you know, the first time
he's on the first time he's on the Super Nintendo
is a golf game, and then a year later you
get pretty much yeah, and then we really don't see
I mean, I guess Kirby Streamline two on the Game
(16:34):
Boy would be Yeah, the closest to a real cannon
Kirby game.
Speaker 2 (16:38):
Yeah, and Dreamland too actually surprised me.
Speaker 3 (16:40):
I played it on the three D S virtual console,
Big Big Jump, and I'm kind of surprised that the
game Boy was able to do some of these things.
Speaker 2 (16:49):
They had more levels, but it.
Speaker 3 (16:51):
Introduced his friends, the different pests that he can I
guess he could ride, so to speak. And they even
I had an element of mixture to his ability. So
if you had an umbrella or a stone, if you
jumped on the owl, the owl would do different things
with the stone than the hamster or through the bird.
Speaker 2 (17:13):
So that was kind of interesting too.
Speaker 3 (17:17):
And it was the first one to have color for
the game Boy. Not much color pale on the game
Boy color, but some nonetheless.
Speaker 1 (17:26):
Which is what we wanted, right, But you're right, it
wasn't not not near what they are obvious.
Speaker 2 (17:33):
That was all that was crazy back then. Yeah, Kirby's
Blackball never played it.
Speaker 1 (17:39):
I mean, it's breakout. I mean it's not like it's
it's non cannon. It's one of those casual filler games.
And then we had Kirby Superstar on the Super Nintendo.
Speaker 2 (17:49):
Favorite Kirby Ever. Wow, yes, and rightfully.
Speaker 3 (17:54):
So it included seven Kirby games in one, one of
which was a beautiful reading of Kirby's Dreamland. So it
expanded on the multiplayer where player two. So if Kirby
had an ability such as the wheel, player two could
turn into the wheel, and he could.
Speaker 2 (18:17):
It was co op with Kirby. So then Kirby could
jump on the.
Speaker 3 (18:20):
Wheel and ride the wheel, or you can turn it
to Knuncle Joe, so you got to turn into player
two got to be some of the enemies, which is
really cool. Also a superstar with one ability, you had
several attacks with that ability.
Speaker 1 (18:35):
Right as opposed to this power equals that's attacking right.
Speaker 3 (18:40):
And even that was really awesome because it added more
to the Okay, I want to know what all I
can do with the rock, what all I can do
with the laser the beam. But the biggest thing about
that game was the amount of continent where it offered you.
I mean, I say seven games, but they're really combined
into one big game. But you had games like Dina Blade,
(19:05):
which was kind of have his own story arc where
he's trying to save Dreamland, of course from a big
giant bird Metal Bird. Then there's the sequel to it,
which is Revenge against Metaonite. But the best game on
there I think most fans will agree was The Great Cave.
Speaker 2 (19:24):
Wow.
Speaker 3 (19:24):
I can't believe, I forget the name of it, but
you're essentially finding treasure and there's like fifty different treasures.
They're fine, but they all have all the treasures are
various Nintendo themed games, so you all like find the
Samms's helmet, Mario's coin.
Speaker 2 (19:39):
There's even some third parties little nuggets thrown in there.
Speaker 3 (19:42):
So finally, the game that the Super Nintendo deserved to
have is the big thing about it.
Speaker 1 (19:53):
So after that, I think the game had some success
because we saw Dreamland three come out the same year,
so that was kind of the first, you know, Dreamland
part of the series that was on the.
Speaker 3 (20:07):
Super Unfortunately, Dreamline three I didn't get to play on
my Superintendo, but through virtual console I've come to appreciate
a lot more and realize that it is a very
very well made game. The art style is all hand drawn,
(20:29):
so it's very different. I think that turned a lot
of people off, but the level design is so much
more involved compared to Superstar.
Speaker 2 (20:37):
It brought back the.
Speaker 3 (20:38):
Kirby friends, more abilities, much much, much harder challenges in
terms of collectibles. But again, it was the victim of
releasing when the Super Nintendo was dying. Right, So it's
another game that is highly rated, but it's not played
by most people.
Speaker 1 (21:00):
Poor Kirby. Yeah, so let's go to nineteen ninety nine,
which I think gave Kirby a little bit more Jeffs do,
which was Super Smash Brothers. Yes, so all this time,
you know, it's like it's funny because I played Kirby's
(21:21):
Dreamland and then I played Kirby's Adventure, but I didn't
play anything Kirby because.
Speaker 2 (21:26):
It wasn't like, yeah, it's understandable.
Speaker 1 (21:28):
Crazily impressed or something. Right, But in nineteen nighty nine,
it's when Smash Brothers came out. They're like, oh, I
totally forgot about exactly this character.
Speaker 2 (21:38):
Exactly. There's a lot of characters like that in that game.
I didn't know about. Ness.
Speaker 3 (21:42):
Yeah, it was a big deal, you know, even in
Star Fox at that time, Like, okay, there was a game,
but it's like no, yeah, I get to be possible class.
So yeah, like Kirby, it was almost like, hey, Kirby
is you know that's a small roster that in that game.
Speaker 2 (22:00):
The fact that Kirby is one of the eighth or
really one of the twelve, you.
Speaker 3 (22:04):
Know, despite the fact that we've only really talked about
four real Kirby games, if you will. As far as
being platformers, it's interesting.
Speaker 1 (22:14):
Yeah, because I mean, like if anything, like Nas has
earned it with earth Bound, star Fox is kind of
on the same cusp as Herby. Yeah, just huge, right,
But still, it was good to see him in the limelight, right.
I mean it's an easy choice as well. When you're playing.
(22:35):
I mean, not only do you have the ability to
kind of like drift down a frame, but if you
have a power you like of someone's we are you
can have it, right, So if anything, it's it's not
necessarily a cheap but I mean, like he's pretty much everybody.
Speaker 3 (22:54):
Right, Yeah, I mean there's a disadvantage of the advantage
to her, but no, it's definitely like, hey, I got
your power, so you're not really any better than me,
other than maybe some of your other attacks, but even
to this day is still like that.
Speaker 1 (23:07):
Yeah. So so I'm excited to see him and the
new ones. Yes, yes, it's not your Super Smash Brothers.
We had Kirby sixty four the Crystal Shards.
Speaker 3 (23:20):
I've got mixed feelings about this game either. Still, I
really like the mixture of abilities.
Speaker 1 (23:26):
Yeah, that's I mean, that was the big thing about
it was mixed.
Speaker 2 (23:29):
It's really well thought out.
Speaker 3 (23:31):
Some of them are extra lane, like, for example, if
you take fire and you mix it with ice, you
turn into an ice cube that melts, so you don't
do anything dumb. If you get electricity and ice, you
turn into a refrigerator that spits out food.
Speaker 2 (23:51):
Not really that cool, but I remember the refrigerator. Yeah,
all the other abilities are really cool.
Speaker 3 (24:00):
I didn't like the pace of the game because Kirby
moved really really slow the levels, I thought, I mean,
the appeal the look to the game is interesting. It's
kind of the three D two D polygon look where
it feels like you're three but you're really not.
Speaker 2 (24:19):
But it's it's.
Speaker 3 (24:22):
Hard for me to like love that game because it's
just missing something. The bosses. The game's easy, like there's
no difficulty to slow and easy. The collectibles and puzzles
are kind of grinding, but it's not. It's not a
top Kurby game for me. It's just fun.
Speaker 2 (24:43):
And I wish they would bring back that you know mixture,
that power mixture, especially now with all the new abilities
we've seen. Right, But.
Speaker 1 (24:56):
A lot of people like, yeah, Kirby sixty four up.
All right. So after that, two thousand and one, we
saw the game Boy Color release of Tilt and Tumble.
Speaker 2 (25:08):
Didn't have a fortune to play in it.
Speaker 1 (25:10):
Uh, It's it's like Plinkoe, except long levels of falling.
It wasn't I mean, it's again, it's not canon.
Speaker 2 (25:20):
It's like that mattered.
Speaker 1 (25:21):
Yeah, and then we had, of course Super Smash Brothers Melee,
so that was his introduction on GameCube, was in a
multi character.
Speaker 2 (25:30):
Game, A lot of people's introduction.
Speaker 1 (25:32):
That's true, that's true. So Melee is my one of
my favorite Super Smash Brothers games.
Speaker 4 (25:38):
You're a Melee I am.
Speaker 1 (25:41):
To be honest. I guess I don't know. I probably
played I like Falcon and Kurty so here though.
Speaker 2 (25:49):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (25:50):
But I mean, as long as as long as somebody
is playing as Simon Saran, I'll be fine.
Speaker 2 (25:54):
That's true. That is true. That actually is very true.
Speaker 3 (25:58):
Yeah, his hammer and just like all his attacks, they
they nerved him too.
Speaker 2 (26:03):
Much for me. Yeah, I didn't like any other.
Speaker 1 (26:06):
I don't disagree. It depends like, if I'm playing defensively,
I would be Kirby just because he can just kind
of drift. Well, yeah, but if I'm playing aggressively, I
probably play.
Speaker 2 (26:20):
I'm sure he's probably bottom tier for tournament players.
Speaker 1 (26:23):
No, he is, yeah, because I mean it's really just
in a way you just kind of like hide. They
can drip off far enough that you can get back,
but they can't catch, which is too bad. Two thousand
and two, game Boy Advanced Kirby Nightmare and Dreamland.
Speaker 3 (26:42):
The remake to Kirby's Adventure. I liked it just because
of how much I liked Kirby's Adventure. It is nice
to see your redone. I later found out, which I'm
kind of ashamed that I never did it. That once
you beat the game, you can go back and players
Menna Nite through the game.
Speaker 1 (27:00):
How's that?
Speaker 2 (27:01):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (27:01):
I need to I need to accomplish that in my life. Okay,
I need to play as Minna Nite.
Speaker 1 (27:09):
Gon'd be sweet. Yeah, I wonder what he does.
Speaker 3 (27:12):
I think he has the he has his sort ability dedicated,
but he can do other things too.
Speaker 1 (27:19):
Okay, he can't like fly cop.
Speaker 2 (27:22):
No, he can't copy, but he always has a sort
so I don't know.
Speaker 1 (27:27):
I will look into that. I can easily find that
man Dreamland.
Speaker 2 (27:32):
To play, Yes you can.
Speaker 1 (27:34):
Two thousand and three Kirby's air Ride. So basically, you know,
with the success of carning games and other kind of
cart driving fun games, Kirby got his own little cruising games. Yeah,
cruising is there's there's not a lot of actual playing
(27:58):
Kirby's Air Ride GameCube.
Speaker 2 (27:59):
What do you think did not like it? Tried so
hard to like it, It's just it was impossible.
Speaker 1 (28:06):
He's really pissed on the cover.
Speaker 2 (28:08):
He is very do you know why we do that Americans?
Speaker 1 (28:13):
But do you know why?
Speaker 2 (28:15):
I think they feel like he won't sell if he's
always happy or.
Speaker 1 (28:18):
Something like that, like everybody mad, ma never mad though, No,
he's simples, simple man.
Speaker 3 (28:28):
Yeah, I mean, Donkey con is always just really mm hmm.
But uh no, I just I think this was a
game that was only fun when you played with people.
Speaker 1 (28:39):
I agree. I don't think I've ever played without.
Speaker 2 (28:42):
Well I never had no that, I never had anyone
to play.
Speaker 1 (28:45):
With, So that sounds like a personal problem.
Speaker 3 (28:49):
Well, it was more So who wants to play Kirby
Year right, or who wants to play a Smash Well or.
Speaker 2 (28:56):
Any of the Mario parties. Yeah, nobody wants to a ride.
Speaker 1 (29:01):
That's too bad. That's probably the second game I played
with my wife. That's how long we're gonna know.
Speaker 2 (29:09):
I should have played a different game.
Speaker 1 (29:11):
Now that we played Coliseum Air Ride in the Spanish. Okay,
that's what we do. So now a game that you're
not a fan of, lope, and yet neither is the
gaming public.
Speaker 2 (29:23):
No.
Speaker 1 (29:24):
Two thousand and four Kirby and the Amazing Mirror.
Speaker 3 (29:27):
They try to do something different. They give you what
I guess they would consider an open world, an open
platform world with a bunch of mirrors that you go
in and out of through worlds. But it's a weird
concept because you easily get confused of what you need
to do.
Speaker 2 (29:45):
Next, and once you do us which you.
Speaker 3 (29:48):
Should be doing, you didn't have to backtrack through a
bunch of levels to get to where you need to be.
But to add to that confusion is if that wasn't enough,
they have four.
Speaker 4 (29:56):
Kirby's in the game, right.
Speaker 3 (29:58):
Which, granted, if you're playing with four people with the
lake cable, which was tremendously tedious back then. Why linking
up with four people and sitting there playing, No, that's
just not Maybe that's just maybe we're spoiled today with
wireless technology, but when we're playing by yourself.
Speaker 1 (30:22):
I'm playing by myself right now, Kirby's are pointless. He
just opened the gate for me to get in the
level because somebody needs to stand on that.
Speaker 3 (30:31):
Yeah, if you call him over there, Yeah, but you
run out of calling pass. It's just not it's not fun.
Speaker 1 (30:38):
You have said, because there's no yellow, it's orange.
Speaker 3 (30:42):
I did think that was silly, but it's just it's
the the open world iss of it really does it.
Speaker 1 (30:51):
In That's true because I mean like once you you know,
I just went through two mers. When you get there,
you're like, oh, this isn't what I'm supposed to be,
So go back and go to like the other mirror
a little bit further backward in the level. Yeah, so
that I mean, I thought it was supposed to be
kind of it's supposed to have that element of oh
(31:11):
you got.
Speaker 2 (31:12):
Man, it doesn't work for a platform.
Speaker 1 (31:14):
It's more like a maze, like you know, like a maze.
Speaker 2 (31:17):
No I want to play a platform.
Speaker 1 (31:20):
That's what it is. Plat.
Speaker 2 (31:23):
Sorry, they wouldn't work for signing Mario or anybody.
Speaker 1 (31:26):
It doesn't work well anyway. Now let's get to your favorite,
one of your favorites. Yes, two thousand and five, Kirby
Canvas Curse. I have not played probably, I honestly have
not played anything up until Epic Yard.
Speaker 3 (31:44):
So sad, but Canvas Curse is honestly one of the
most original games that Timbo's ever made.
Speaker 2 (31:49):
And what's even more.
Speaker 3 (31:51):
Surprising is that it was a Launch Window DS game,
so which is a first for Kirby because I always
was like, I'm, you know, throw me in on the
dyeing system now. But in this game, he's completely a
ball and you're using the stylist to draw where he
needs to go, and you're doing things like drawing loops
which speed him up.
Speaker 2 (32:12):
He still has has his copybuility, so he runs.
Speaker 3 (32:15):
When he plows into an enemy, he can then get
a being that opens up other areas of the course,
different things like that. But it's hard to really talk
about the game, like experiencing it and seeing it and
just seeing the innovation of the I don't even know
what you would call it, but just the I guess
(32:37):
the ball system because every just rolling around, it really
really works that. If I'm not mistaken, I do believe
it's the highest rated Kirby game Metacritic wise. And it's
funny that we're doing this episode today because it just announced.
I think you would call a spiritual successor to it
for the WU Kirby's Rainbow Course, we're just gonna do
(32:58):
the exact same thing for the You.
Speaker 2 (33:01):
So you're using the styles to draw where he needs
to go?
Speaker 1 (33:06):
Sounds weak.
Speaker 3 (33:07):
You should definitely try You definitely deserve to try it. Why,
I guess you don't have a you don't have an R.
Speaker 2 (33:13):
Four, so no, but I think it would eventually end
up being a WEE virtual console release.
Speaker 1 (33:21):
That would make sense so with the touch.
Speaker 2 (33:25):
But it's definitely a virginal I have nothing bad to
say about the game.
Speaker 1 (33:32):
You really love yourself. Some curse all rights to two
thousand and five. Next year after that, we got Kirby
Squeak Squad on the Hamsters on the cover.
Speaker 2 (33:44):
Uh, I think they're rats. What the rats?
Speaker 1 (33:50):
They're like guinea pigs or something?
Speaker 2 (33:52):
Rats? They're rats? Yeah, they're rats. They're definitely rats. His
friends well, no, Well the squeez Squad is rats.
Speaker 1 (34:02):
Oh well I know, but like like as Friends, let's hamsters.
Speaker 2 (34:06):
Yeah, but they're not in it. Squad Sweet Squad was.
Speaker 3 (34:13):
A traditional two D platform with the ability but well,
the thing I like about this game is kind of weird.
Speaker 2 (34:20):
But Kirby can store powers in.
Speaker 3 (34:22):
His belly and then the bottom screen on the DS
you can pick which ability.
Speaker 2 (34:28):
You want to use.
Speaker 1 (34:30):
It takes away the whole.
Speaker 2 (34:32):
Yes and no, you only get the whole five that's
a lot.
Speaker 3 (34:37):
It's cool though, because there's a lot of abilities in it.
In the Squeeze Squad, they in every level you have
three or two treasures you need to find the last
one a member of the Screech Squad has.
Speaker 2 (34:48):
You need to take it from him and get to
the end of the level before he catches you.
Speaker 3 (34:53):
So at the end of every level you kind of
have a race slash battle going on, which made it interesting.
It was a lot of unlockables for it, like in
the Treasure biases, like it changed Kirby's color let's see either.
He eventually open up new worlds, new levels. So it's
just a good solid platformer, doesn't do anything tremendously crazy.
Speaker 2 (35:15):
But this was the first two d ds Kirby.
Speaker 1 (35:21):
So the year well, actually two thousand and seven took
a year off and then we didn't see anything until
September two thousand and eight. Yes, that's true with Kirby's
Superstar Ultra.
Speaker 3 (35:34):
Which even at its just a repackaging of Kurby Superstar,
which I completely passed on.
Speaker 2 (35:41):
Oh yeah, but we did have Brawl that year.
Speaker 1 (35:43):
We didn't have Brawl as well. You like brawl, Yes,
you're a brawler.
Speaker 2 (35:48):
I'm a brawler.
Speaker 1 (35:49):
I'm a meleeer.
Speaker 2 (35:50):
I like all Smash brothers though, But.
Speaker 3 (35:54):
Yes, Bra brought us Midnight and Day to Day to
be playable for the first time. Good old Sakarai, making
his characters prominent.
Speaker 2 (36:04):
In his game.
Speaker 1 (36:08):
I liked playing his mad line.
Speaker 3 (36:10):
I'm sure everybody did, which is why he's officially banned
in tournaments.
Speaker 2 (36:15):
He's the only character in.
Speaker 3 (36:16):
Any fighting game to ever be banned. He's not allowed
to be used. Why because he's overpowered and he has
priority over everybody's attacks. All his attacks have priority over
everybody's attack.
Speaker 4 (36:30):
He's a melonite, I guess sure.
Speaker 3 (36:33):
But but Day to Day is also you know, the
least in a tournament scene, he's he's very high tier. Yes,
I've actually started using him against my friends and they
hate me now.
Speaker 2 (36:46):
They all joked and May laughs, You're gonna be day
Toy day. I am no.
Speaker 3 (36:54):
But that was the first Smash Brothers with the three
characters from Kirby Universe, the three main characters.
Speaker 2 (37:04):
Let's see. Nothing else really to that.
Speaker 3 (37:08):
One thing I did notice about that game though, because
it was the first match Brothers with a story mode.
Speaker 2 (37:13):
The story mode was very heavily involved with Kirby and
King Day.
Speaker 1 (37:17):
Day Day, I do.
Speaker 2 (37:21):
Good Old Sakarai right, Well, yeah, his game, I guess so.
But yeah, so what else?
Speaker 1 (37:33):
Uh?
Speaker 2 (37:34):
Well?
Speaker 1 (37:34):
After that, man on the wek what hate hates a
strong word, especially the.
Speaker 2 (37:42):
Kirby strongly dislike.
Speaker 1 (37:45):
What did you not like about it?
Speaker 3 (37:47):
I don't like not having consequences, so I don't like
that I cannot die, Okay.
Speaker 2 (37:55):
I don't care about losing my jewels. I don't like.
I just don't like the game.
Speaker 3 (38:04):
I know a Malionaire a lot of people right now,
but it's just not a Kirby game, which I know
because there's really it was never supposed to be. It
was a Prince fluff game.
Speaker 2 (38:14):
Kirby. But my wife likes it because she can't get hurt.
Speaker 1 (38:19):
But I mean you had to appreciate at least the
art style.
Speaker 2 (38:21):
Oh yeah, nothing, the art style.
Speaker 1 (38:23):
Conceptually with separate worlds that are undone through fabrics. Yes,
I mean great to unstitch thing. I mean, it's just
it was. It was very smart and it was well
done for the Wii.
Speaker 2 (38:35):
So here's the thing.
Speaker 3 (38:36):
If if that was Prince Fluff and not Kirby, would
you have probably played that game?
Speaker 1 (38:41):
I would have not. I want, I wanted to picked
it up. It might have not made it past you know,
it might not have made it into stores.
Speaker 2 (38:51):
In the US, and I'm sure Nintendo knew that.
Speaker 1 (38:53):
Yeah, you know.
Speaker 2 (38:57):
No.
Speaker 3 (38:57):
I love I love the music, like the stream me
the piano music is really good.
Speaker 2 (39:03):
The innovation and ideas behind is all great.
Speaker 3 (39:06):
I don't like that it's Kirby, okay, because that's not
what Kobe does.
Speaker 1 (39:10):
I don't like, but nobody would have played it if
it wasn't Kirby.
Speaker 3 (39:14):
I completely understand. That's why it's kind of like a
I don't know, a conundrum, maybe just not just not
gonna ever be on my top five list.
Speaker 1 (39:26):
Ever, Well, I don't say it's some top five.
Speaker 2 (39:29):
Some people it's the best Kirby ever.
Speaker 1 (39:32):
It's a good game. It's just not the most curbyish.
Speaker 2 (39:37):
It's not. There's no there's no it's dreamline. There's no copyability.
Speaker 1 (39:43):
So I don't how long did you play it?
Speaker 2 (39:46):
Though I got to uh at least World five or six.
Speaker 3 (39:50):
My wife wanted to play it all the time because
she she likes not having to uh worry about getting hurried.
Speaker 1 (39:57):
Either or do anything. You're just gonna around.
Speaker 2 (40:01):
Let's make it easier than Kirby sixty four.
Speaker 1 (40:03):
Why don't we did twenty eleven Kirby Mass Attack on intiendo.
Speaker 2 (40:08):
DS hated that too?
Speaker 3 (40:11):
Why because it's Kirby not copying people again and you're
flinging multiple Kirby's on enemies.
Speaker 2 (40:20):
Don't like it?
Speaker 1 (40:22):
What about Kirby's return to Dreamland for the week?
Speaker 2 (40:25):
You know why? Because it's to be copying Kirby.
Speaker 4 (40:29):
Right.
Speaker 3 (40:30):
So, but the multiplayer is really good in that game too,
Like you tried to expose in the quiz that you didn't.
Speaker 2 (40:38):
Think I would know.
Speaker 1 (40:40):
Yeah, uh what, I'm gonna have to get a different
source next time.
Speaker 3 (40:49):
The use of the four player co op where everybody
had different abilities and could work together without really interfering
with each other, unlike Yusuper Mario Brothers is terrific, so
a lot of levels to it. I was it was
nice to see finally like the I'm gonna use this
(41:11):
word loosely, the power of the Wei bring fretty games
to you know, it's full.
Speaker 1 (41:18):
Who's your favorite boss?
Speaker 3 (41:22):
The eyeball Cloud?
Speaker 1 (41:25):
What is the boss that you always fight.
Speaker 2 (41:29):
Whispy the Tree.
Speaker 1 (41:32):
Well, it's not like it's just I look forward to
that that first. It's usually first level stuff, but I
always look forward tone because it's so lank it is.
Speaker 3 (41:45):
However, that I'm glad you brought that up though, because
the return to Dreamland finally like made the bosses a
little more interesting.
Speaker 1 (41:54):
That's why I brought it up, Like because of Wispy
in that game.
Speaker 2 (41:57):
Yeah, I completely forgot about that.
Speaker 1 (41:59):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (42:00):
Yeah, he gets pissed off halfway through and just like starts.
What does he do? Starts like trampling through the level
or something.
Speaker 3 (42:06):
Yeah, Yeah, it was pretty It was really good.
Speaker 1 (42:10):
It was good. It was a good change of pace,
like you expected something and then kind of turned on you.
So they re released on the Virtual Console, several games,
you know, Pin mil Land included, but after that Kirby's
Dream Collection special addition for the Wii. But again, I
(42:30):
mean you can only re release something so many times.
Speaker 2 (42:35):
I have to say too well.
Speaker 1 (42:38):
Yeah, but I mean like if you look at so
the Dream Collection and then after that, before we get
to you had Triple Deluxe, right, did you play Triple
Deluxe that's from this year? He had nothing?
Speaker 3 (42:53):
Yes, they played Triple DEXE. If I could sum it up,
is essentially Return to dream Landford to the Right. It's
not at all bad, but if you've played Return to Dreamline,
you're not going to be impressed by it.
Speaker 1 (43:07):
Yeah, because I mean I feel like everything is just
a rehash.
Speaker 3 (43:11):
They need to do some abilities. I like in You're
like the clown ability. What was the other one? I
don't drawn a blank on it, but there was there
were some nice abilities. It just wasn't It wasn't challenging
at all. For the collectibles. I don't know if you
go for those or not.
Speaker 1 (43:29):
But well I did. It's not like I got any
kind of satisfaction.
Speaker 3 (43:34):
Yeah, Unfortunately I completed it and moved on.
Speaker 1 (43:38):
But yeah, so before we talk about the future for Kirby.
I just want to go over some of the stats
that he carries. So since he first appeared in Kirby's Dreamland,
Kirby has always been received very positively. Nintendo Power listed
Kirby as their nineteenth favorite.
Speaker 2 (43:56):
Hero nineteenth, there's eighteen better.
Speaker 1 (44:00):
Commenting that he doesn't get the respect that he deserves.
And that's from Nintendo Power. Actually, Kirby ranked second on
top ten Super Smash Brothers Characters on Game Daily's website. Okay,
that's reasonable. Then we also hand games Radar had him
(44:28):
listed as the most lovable blob who got the Stretch,
calling him one of the cutest things to appear in
a Nintendo game. Okay, that's weak, all right. I g
and top ten Veterans Super Smash Brothers Characters. He was
ranked sixth on that one, which is fine.
Speaker 3 (44:50):
I g in.
Speaker 1 (44:52):
And then we had what was the last stat oh cheek.
Code Central has Ninja Kirby listed as the ninth top
ninja in video games.
Speaker 3 (45:06):
Ninja Kirby is pretty awesome. He's very awesome. I look
forward to that ability.
Speaker 1 (45:10):
When you get that one.
Speaker 2 (45:11):
Yeah, you're like, I'm holding onto these.
Speaker 1 (45:14):
Yeah, it's definitely a bank.
Speaker 2 (45:17):
I need Ninja Kurby a Smash. But it's not that
I think about it.
Speaker 1 (45:21):
I wish there was a way for us to get
powers that Kirby has that aren't based off other characters
in the.
Speaker 3 (45:27):
Game, especially like I know I'm kind of jumping ahead,
but like when you're looking at Mega Man, like he's
got all kinds of abilities.
Speaker 2 (45:34):
Like Mega I mean, Kirby should be able to you know.
Speaker 1 (45:39):
It's not like when you play his Mega Man and Smash,
you're gonna have to kill an enemy to get it right.
Speaker 2 (45:44):
Yeah, So I don't know. I'm hoping that's maybe something
that you've thought about.
Speaker 1 (45:50):
They need to do something, they need to make it, so,
I don't know, even just like items he can absorb, Yeah,
you know what I mean. Yeah, like somebody throws a
bit or there's a baseball on the ground and I
swallow it. I think I think something should happen.
Speaker 2 (46:05):
Yeah, I mean it would, it would any other time.
Speaker 1 (46:09):
But we'll see where that goes.
Speaker 3 (46:12):
A quick question, did you ever watch the Kirby cartoon
when it came out? Now, I was sorely surprised you
liked him.
Speaker 1 (46:23):
Yes and no, I don't like the voice acting well
that's the thing.
Speaker 3 (46:27):
The first episode, I'm like, wait a minute, Kirby's baby
or something.
Speaker 2 (46:32):
Like, you can't. I really thought like because Kirby's Adventure.
When I was five, that was my first.
Speaker 3 (46:37):
My second game, I was like, this is awesome, and
so all this time I'm like, Okay, Kirby's just like,
Kirby's cool. And then I watched the first episode in
his car soon I'm like, he's an idiot. He's just
a baby and mend and I.
Speaker 2 (46:50):
Tells him what to do.
Speaker 3 (46:51):
Yeah, and then I'm like, well, wait a minute, is
it medat Night bad?
Speaker 2 (46:57):
I saw when I've watched a few episodes of The Cards.
You know, it was okay, but I will just be
wildered that he was just.
Speaker 1 (47:06):
His manga is actually better than anything, so I would,
if you know, if you want someone to check out
that as far as media wise, like entertainment value, like
the manga is much more. It's about, you know, it's
about it's more violent. Where the cartoon was odd, it
was odd.
Speaker 3 (47:24):
I just never got that impression through the Curby games
that he was like that there's no reason for me
to believe that he has no talking intelligence.
Speaker 2 (47:36):
But I guess I'm mane intended carriages talk fairly.
Speaker 1 (47:39):
That's true, all right, So E three obviously just happened,
or you know, as far as Nintendo's conference, so what
was What are they talking about? Because I haven't got
a chance.
Speaker 2 (47:57):
Were they started off with Smash Brothers.
Speaker 1 (47:59):
I would hope, So I'm gonna watch it later on.
Speaker 2 (48:01):
That okay with you?
Speaker 3 (48:03):
Uh Me is a playable character. It's actually very interesting because.
Speaker 1 (48:08):
I don't want that.
Speaker 3 (48:09):
You have three kinds of means that you can be
a brawler, a shooter, or a swordsman and you can
pick what attacks you want for that meaning.
Speaker 2 (48:19):
I think it's cool.
Speaker 1 (48:22):
They have legs and everything.
Speaker 2 (48:24):
Leg yeah, I mean they're well done. And what about
out They're not just you know, you know, just in
there just to be in there. But heads yeah, I
feel like they're appropriately scaled though. Okay, they don't look
they don't look too wild. Let's see. That's what they
showed today.
Speaker 3 (48:44):
Like I said, I already talked about the Kirby Rainbow course,
they did show gameplay for Yoshi's Yarn, which is now
Yoshi's Wooly World.
Speaker 1 (48:54):
Wow to say, Yoshi's Wooly World.
Speaker 3 (48:56):
Willy World, which is epic yarn yoh, which that looks
really good.
Speaker 1 (49:04):
Boy, Yeah, you won't be able to die. If you
won't be able to.
Speaker 3 (49:07):
Die, I'm not sure. It looks like I can die,
so I didn't see. But there's no baby Mario or anything,
so I don't I'm not sure exactly where it's going.
But they showed up about ten minutes, so it's worth
a love ten minutes.
Speaker 1 (49:24):
I'm not a big Yoshi like you, even though it is.
I do like that course and alright, course.
Speaker 2 (49:33):
They talked about their figurines.
Speaker 1 (49:35):
They did, yes, their one.
Speaker 3 (49:38):
They did not show Kirby, but Smash Brothers will be
the first game to use it.
Speaker 2 (49:43):
Where essentially like, if you have a link figure, that link,
your link will.
Speaker 3 (49:52):
Be different from my link because you can level up
your link by either fighting it or having it to
fight the computer. And you can customize difference if you
have the figure. Yes, you can customize different abilities with it.
Speaker 1 (50:07):
Where do you put the figure right on the.
Speaker 3 (50:09):
Game pad on the little left corner where there's that
little white space just kind of you just kind of.
Speaker 1 (50:15):
Touch it in it reads it Okay.
Speaker 3 (50:19):
They did say it would also be used in Mario
Party ten Mario kar eight is actually gonna use it,
which is interesting. It didn't expound on that, but sounds
like that's going to be their form of DLC.
Speaker 2 (50:31):
Okay, it is releasing this holiday.
Speaker 3 (50:34):
So they showed about twelve figures which were pretty much
all Smash Brothers.
Speaker 1 (50:40):
Okay, so no, I don't I don't remember seeing a Kirby's.
Speaker 2 (50:44):
I don't remember.
Speaker 1 (50:46):
But so if I don't have the figures, I don't
level up.
Speaker 3 (50:50):
Obviously, these figures are let's see did you ever play?
It's not eventually like with the chows M do you
remember on the dreamk cast? Like you can take the
memory card out and walk around, right, I will look
at it that way, like if I were to come
over to Yeah, if I was to come over your house,
I'd be like, hey, you want to find my weak
(51:10):
and see what I've done with.
Speaker 1 (51:11):
But if I don't have a figure in I handicapped,
No you.
Speaker 2 (51:18):
I don't. I don't know.
Speaker 3 (51:19):
It depends on how well I've trained my I feel
like that's kind of I feel like there's kind of
a Pokemon.
Speaker 1 (51:24):
And they should then they should have done this with Pokemon.
Speaker 2 (51:26):
I think I think there's still going well, they did
kind of with that rumble you. But I think I
think that was kind of the idea. It's not a
bad concept. I don't think.
Speaker 1 (51:35):
No, no, I have no issue. Like when Skylanders first
came out, I was on board. We got all of them, Yeah,
Disney Infinity. I played more anxious for two point zero
than I was for the first one. And then this
is coming out, and then my head, I'm like, how
are other companies going to be able to do this?
Because everybody wants to get on the bandwagon Sony Camp,
(51:59):
we saw what happened.
Speaker 3 (52:01):
I think the problem with like Nintendo's With Nintendo's concept,
you won't be re buying characters because once I buy Mario,
I can use him in Smash Brothers and Mario Kart
and in Mario Party.
Speaker 1 (52:15):
No no, I get that.
Speaker 3 (52:16):
So I don't know if anybody else can really follow
that unless they're unless that. Divisions want to say, Okay.
Speaker 1 (52:21):
How does it remain profitable if you don't have new waves,
new characters.
Speaker 2 (52:25):
I guess I guess it's kind of reverse.
Speaker 3 (52:28):
They're hoping that the figurines will prompt you to buy
the big game, which I could probably say.
Speaker 4 (52:35):
I'd be inclined to that in Mario party.
Speaker 2 (52:38):
Well, I love my party anyway.
Speaker 1 (52:40):
Well, but now you get to play as your level
fifty Marios that doesn't do anything. We don't know, but
he has an orange chat orange chat. Yeah, that's what
you customized it, lashing.
Speaker 2 (52:52):
Are you speaking? There's no, no, well, I don't know.
I mean Luigi figure. Yes, that's that's joke, because it's
going to be really good.
Speaker 1 (53:06):
Well, I mean I wish in the best of luck.
I mean, I might buy the figures just for, you know,
to put on my desk, but I don't know if
I'll take part in the whole leveling up thing depends
on what figures, Like what do they have we fit
trainer on there? Are you kidding me?
Speaker 2 (53:28):
Okay? Well, I mean, but why would should be she's
in the game.
Speaker 1 (53:33):
Okay, I think there had to be a Kirby figure
might have been. He's little, he's shorter than all have
been swallowed.
Speaker 2 (53:43):
You're taking that pretty hard.
Speaker 1 (53:45):
That's just I don't like the addition of that character.
Speaker 2 (53:47):
It's zero service.
Speaker 1 (53:50):
Just with weapons a little more robotic.
Speaker 2 (53:53):
Okay, you can be the male trainer.
Speaker 1 (53:55):
I'm all right. Okay, Well we'll see, I mean, we'll
see how this goes, but uh so we'll launch for holiday. Yes, well,
I wish them the best, but most likely I will
be getting Infinity two point out over that, even though
I don't like the way ven it looks.
Speaker 2 (54:14):
But is it the It's not.
Speaker 1 (54:20):
No, it's Eddie Brock, but they just the art style.
He's very swollen like, but then he has little legs.
That's kind of odd. But we'll see where this goes.
What do they call that? What do they call the toys?
There's like an abbreviation what for?
Speaker 3 (54:40):
Okay, I'm not sure where why?
Speaker 1 (54:44):
Yeah, okay, they're not the best with names, Nintendo. Let's
be honest.
Speaker 2 (54:51):
What was it? What was the Kirby name?
Speaker 1 (54:54):
Oh yeah, what was that?
Speaker 2 (54:57):
Mario warn that you like, completely blew my mind with.
Speaker 1 (55:04):
Nintendo's wild They are a little off off base with
their with the American.
Speaker 3 (55:11):
Yeah groups, But now I look forward to some more
Kirby games.
Speaker 2 (55:16):
Like I said, I'm definitely looking forward to the next one.
Speaker 3 (55:21):
It seems like my guess is we've probably won't beginning
anymore for the three DS. Just looking at the history,
we don't give too many iterations on a system, so
lest they're planning to do some type of pinball, they might,
oh boy, because I guess it has been a while
since you've had a pinball Kirby's true, I don't need
(55:43):
any of that dream give me a dream course two.
Speaker 1 (55:47):
But uh hmm, so well awesome. I think Kirby was
a good choice. I wish I got to play more
Kirby games growing up.
Speaker 2 (55:56):
That's why you have the virtual console.
Speaker 1 (55:58):
But I was more Sega than Nintendo during most of
that time. Well, thanks for listening to the Liquid Gamer
podcast and I hope everybody had a great E three.

Speaker 2 (56:25):
I don't have a shirt.
Speaker 1 (56:27):
I don't know feeling that.
Speaker 2 (56:29):
I think after getting a C, I should probably get
a shirt.
Speaker 1 (56:32):
Getting get a somebody is not a C.
Speaker 2 (56:34):
What it is in grade school?
Speaker 1 (56:36):
In private school, okay, wow, in private school rules, you're.
Speaker 2 (56:43):
Just a way to win.
Speaker 1 (56:45):
No, that's what it is.
Speaker 3 (56:46):
No, No, I deserve a Okay in today's society, you
need to encourage me by giving me a reward, even
if I came in last.
Speaker 1 (56:56):
I don't like today's society. All right, again, thanks for listening.
Name is Ryan, and everybody have a great Kirby Day. Yes,
good gaming.
