Speaker 1 (00:00):
Apologize for the delay. During this time of year, it's
always more difficult to do recordings, so we are a
little late. Yes, but we're back with an episode featuring
Super Smash Brothers, which is a weird choice because it's
my season.
Speaker 2 (00:16):
Yes, quite a thunderstanding.
Speaker 1 (00:18):
But I thought that it would be topical just because
of the recent release of the newest Super Smash Brothers game.
So why not do a Super Smash Brothers episode? I thought,
good choice. Good choice to you. Yeah, we'll see what
the audience thinks. We'll see if we get any listens.
Speaker 2 (00:36):
I think this is your first non mature game too.
Speaker 1 (00:38):
I know, and I only did it because what do
we replaces? I don't know. I know we pushed off
some other ones, but you know whatever, that's okay. Super
Smash Brothers is a huge game, big part of my life,
especially just it's it's probably the best social game I've
ever played. Its did what you did?
Speaker 3 (01:01):
Buy it? Right? No?
Speaker 1 (01:02):
Oh, I'm waiting for this episode to buy it. You
need to convince me. No, do what. Yeah, I'm not
going to be a sheep.
Speaker 2 (01:10):
It's the Nintendo way.
Speaker 1 (01:13):
No, not my way. So if you did not know
Super Smash Brothers. If you know what it means in Japanese,
it's Duranto Smash Brothers, which means Great Melee Smash Brothers.
Speaker 2 (01:29):
I did not know that.
Speaker 1 (01:30):
Actually, well before we start talking about all the me
right now, ah, well, that's what I do. But you're
gonna trivia me, so feel free to great me yes,
because I'm not going to do very well because I'm not.
Speaker 3 (01:45):
But you're gonna learn a lot though.
Speaker 1 (01:46):
That's good. That's what I want to do, right, feel free?
Speaker 2 (01:50):
All right?
Speaker 1 (01:51):
Love a gamer trivia number one?
Speaker 3 (01:54):
You know this one?
Speaker 2 (01:55):
Who are the first four secret characters in the first
Smash Brothers.
Speaker 1 (01:58):
I don't know that.
Speaker 2 (01:59):
Don't love that?
Speaker 3 (02:00):
No?
Speaker 1 (02:02):
How would I know that?
Speaker 3 (02:05):
You don't? I mean the four blocks that are statigym.
Speaker 1 (02:09):
Of course I unlocked him.
Speaker 3 (02:10):
You don't know.
Speaker 1 (02:11):
I mean that's a long that's a long memory. What
if I get won? No? No, no, I don't know.
See I would have gotten I didn't know Captain Facon
was locked. He was one of my give him. I
definitely had him one. Damn. Oh, this is gonna be
(02:33):
a train. Oh great facts Melee took?
Speaker 2 (02:39):
How many must have developed?
Speaker 1 (02:41):
How would I know that?
Speaker 3 (02:42):
It's like a historic. Man, you're killing me right now.
This is why you don't do Nintendo.
Speaker 1 (02:47):
Heillo no, okay six thirteen, okay, thirteen, I worked straight. Yes,
he lived a very rough life to make that game.
Speaker 3 (02:59):
Two.
Speaker 1 (03:00):
Yeah, whenever, this is going.
Speaker 3 (03:02):
Number three.
Speaker 2 (03:03):
What feature of the Wii system was not used in
Brawl notion?
Speaker 4 (03:07):
Yes, there's one, there's one, yes, okay. Number four. The
smash balls were originally intended to be in which game?
Speaker 1 (03:19):
The smash balls?
Speaker 2 (03:20):
Yeah, the Final Smashes, the Big.
Speaker 1 (03:22):
The first game that no, no, that's no, He's always
always wanted. Okay, yeah, Actually, if you want to go
into detail, you can actually find the audio for the
Big Super Smashes and.
Speaker 2 (03:38):
Yeah, okay, stun me.
Speaker 3 (03:40):
I don't know, you don't know the first two two, four.
Speaker 1 (03:46):
That's funny, I'm scary stuff.
Speaker 3 (03:50):
The Proximity Mind item strongly resembles the model from what game.
Speaker 1 (03:57):
That's a little controversial actually is yeah, you want to
know what you say? All right? So credited we have
Project Dark mm hmm. But it looks a lot like
the one in Golden Yes, I think. And it's funny
(04:19):
because in this country it's we don't even call it
the Proximity Mind but in the Japan game it's called
that exactly. But this is before Microsoft got rare and
there's all kinds of drama.
Speaker 3 (04:32):
Yeah, it's kind of silly, but.
Speaker 1 (04:34):
It looks exactly like it. It's not even a close.
Speaker 2 (04:39):
So you you read about it really strongly.
Speaker 1 (04:42):
Wow, that's wow.
Speaker 2 (04:45):
You have to three out of five?
Speaker 1 (04:47):
Three out of five? Look kind of you know, number
six passing in your number? I will Okay.
Speaker 3 (04:58):
The braw in bra Pikachu is believed to be who.
Speaker 1 (05:06):
What are you talking about? That is not even a question.
Speaker 3 (05:09):
That's all I can in brawl is what believed to be?
Speaker 2 (05:16):
Who?
Speaker 1 (05:19):
You're trying somebody, somebody in a suit.
Speaker 3 (05:21):
They're clearly not going to get it. Ah, It's believe
that he is the evolved from a Peach you from
Melee because all of his altimate outfits and his vault
tackle smash ball is something only Peach you can have. Wow,
he can which he could not do in Melee.
Speaker 2 (05:41):
But Peach you can't, gotcha?
Speaker 1 (05:43):
All right? Yeah, that's odd. That's just like a fan fiction.
That's not even like a question, but.
Speaker 3 (05:51):
It's it's accepted in the speculation, accepted in the community,
all right, Well.
Speaker 1 (05:55):
In speculation shouldn't equal trivia.
Speaker 3 (05:59):
I might give you that actually anyway. Number seven on
the Brawl Pokemon stage, when it turns to ice inside
the ice house, you can see a picture of what.
Speaker 1 (06:13):
Is it? An animal?
Speaker 3 (06:15):
Yes?
Speaker 1 (06:16):
A cat?
Speaker 2 (06:18):
Why would you say a cat?
Speaker 1 (06:19):
Because it's sacrificed pet? You will?
Speaker 3 (06:22):
You clearly know this day?
Speaker 1 (06:25):
A cat? Yeah, it's a white cat. Went great.
Speaker 2 (06:31):
You must have did some homework or something.
Speaker 3 (06:34):
Everybody noticed that everybody knows the first four characters.
Speaker 1 (06:39):
That's true anyway, it's so funny. I got the hard ones.
Speaker 3 (06:44):
Okay, remember eight in the n sixty four? How many
unused stages are there?
Speaker 1 (06:57):
Four? Two?
Speaker 3 (06:58):
And they're both variations of yourn.
Speaker 1 (07:01):
Oh the one okay with the wood planks, I know
what those are.
Speaker 3 (07:06):
For. Four Are you gonna are you gonna come out
of this? Okay? Or are you gonna have?
Speaker 1 (07:11):
What do you want? Question?
Speaker 2 (07:13):
This is number nine?
Speaker 1 (07:15):
Okay, Hey, we're out of ten though, I'd be fine with.
Speaker 3 (07:18):
That number nine. What metroid character was planned to be
in braw Oh?
Speaker 1 (07:25):
Come on? The dragon thing?
Speaker 3 (07:31):
You would to me? You're not getting come on?
Speaker 1 (07:37):
I don't know the name? Oh boy, that's right, gosh.
Speaker 2 (07:44):
But can you tell me what aspect he was planning
to be used.
Speaker 1 (07:48):
Do I get some kind of point?
Speaker 2 (07:51):
How do you do half?
Speaker 3 (07:53):
You give me a halfruggling and assist, Yes, we'll give
you that.
Speaker 1 (07:58):
Yes, I have because I need the red damn all.
Speaker 3 (08:05):
This was number ten. You've got four and a half
out of ten in the wikis massion in.
Speaker 1 (08:14):
The child Oh no.
Speaker 2 (08:16):
No, I know of this under the bead well you know.
Speaker 1 (08:20):
That there's it looks like a stamp, but it's a boo.
Speaker 3 (08:26):
Yes. Sorry, five and a half out of ten.
Speaker 1 (08:31):
Five and a half out of ten.
Speaker 2 (08:32):
First time there's ever been a half point.
Speaker 3 (08:33):
That's five and a half. I remember requesting a half
point before it.
Speaker 1 (08:39):
I guess I'll give it to you next season. Five
and a half out of ten. That's not bad. I
knew the weird things, but I didn't know the main
villain from Medroid's name or the unlockables. Wow, that's a
that's a pretty good run. Pretty good run.
Speaker 2 (08:59):
I gave you that.
Speaker 3 (09:00):
So.
Speaker 1 (09:01):
The original Super Smash Brothers release in nineteen ninety nine
for the Nintendo sixty four. It was very small budget.
It was supposed to be Japan only release. Actually, I mean,
if it was, what was it supposed what was it called?
Speaker 3 (09:14):
Originally it was Dragon Well it originally had like punked
the Polygon.
Speaker 1 (09:19):
Fighters, right, but I mean it was called like it
was supposed to be a completely new IP and it
was like people nobody ever heard of because they were
all new and it was like Dragon Fighter Quest or
something like. It was something weird dragon something, and like
Sakarai was pretty He was like, yeah, we can't have
a home based console without somebody that is recognizable, right,
(09:43):
So he put together a kind of a demo of
people fighting. Do you know what four characters he had
fighting in the demo that he I'm.
Speaker 3 (09:52):
Sure was one of them? No, No, then I don't know.
Speaker 1 (09:58):
Uh so the original he pitched to Nintendo execs and
he brought in a game that had Mario, Link, Star Fox,
and Donkey Kong fighting it out, and that sold it
and that is what got it to be pushed to
you know, Super Smash. And it's funny because like you
(10:18):
thought you assumed Kirby was gonna be in there, but
Sacarai is really big on like, at least then, he
was really big on making Kirby like, hey, I know
that's my baby, but I'm not going to shove it
down people's throats. So but anyway, the first game was released,
(10:38):
and then after that we saw the successor, Super Smash
Brothers Melee in two thousand and one for the game Cube.
It is the best selling game on that system of
all time.
Speaker 3 (10:49):
Yes, and it was originally supposed to be a launch title.
Speaker 2 (10:53):
It was.
Speaker 1 (10:54):
Yeah. There was actually supposed to be a lot more
characters too. There's supposed to be a lot of things
with that game, yeah, but it didn't work out. And then,
of course, in two thousand and eight for the Wei,
we saw a Super Smash Brothers Brawl, and then after
that we have the newer installments for the We You
and Through the S. But so let's just talk about
(11:17):
the original game, right, So who was your go to?
What was who was your go to character in the
first game? Favorite level?
Speaker 3 (11:26):
Okay, A favorite level would definitely be.
Speaker 1 (11:30):
Sector Z.
Speaker 3 (11:31):
I love the great I love how big the great
box stage is the background and the music. Favorite stage, Okay,
go to character. It's gonna be tough, but it definitely
would have to be.
Speaker 2 (11:45):
Link.
Speaker 1 (11:46):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (11:49):
I really can't say why because at the time I
hadn't played a lot of Zelda games, but I just
liked the character.
Speaker 2 (11:55):
It might be a tie between him and Kirby.
Speaker 1 (11:57):
Actually, for me Eat my favorite level was actually Sector
Z as well. I think a lot of people appreciate though.
And favorite character was Sadness for sure. Okay, but I
would play is Fox? Yes, I thought you would say
(12:20):
Fox or Falcon, so.
Speaker 3 (12:22):
Their character, you know.
Speaker 1 (12:25):
No, I don't know if my car, like if mine
was already unlocked, maybe it's fired.
Speaker 3 (12:33):
Remember I really did like the unlocked the one unlockable
stage where the US came.
Speaker 2 (12:40):
I like going through the pipes.
Speaker 1 (12:42):
Okay, what about the mini games?
Speaker 2 (12:47):
Oh, I love to Break the Targets.
Speaker 1 (12:48):
Yeah, Break the Targets is fine.
Speaker 3 (12:49):
Boy was probably my favorite. I'm sad that they never
brought that back.
Speaker 1 (12:53):
Weird. It's really weird because I mean, they're, like Nintendo
is really good about listening to their audience. We saw
that with the new release, like the accessories that were
released for that game. It's crazy.
Speaker 3 (13:07):
Well, I guess they did bring a form of variation
for Break the Targets, but it's not.
Speaker 2 (13:12):
Characters specific.
Speaker 1 (13:14):
Oh okay, there was originally supposed to be. Because you
actually mentioned levels that were created and then gotten rid of.
I included in my guestimate levels that were made for
Break the Targets. Oh okay, because they did get rid
of those two of those because of like originally there
(13:40):
were supposed to be more characters, so they had characters
specific levels that were debunked. That's okay, I'm not gonna
harp on that five and a half out of ten.
I will, I will take that to the bank.
Speaker 2 (13:54):
I'm never going to forgive.
Speaker 1 (13:56):
All right. So Super Smash where there's Malee favorite level
and favorite.
Speaker 3 (14:02):
Character actually on Melee and that was my favorite character.
Speaker 1 (14:09):
Wow, why.
Speaker 2 (14:14):
I don't know?
Speaker 1 (14:16):
No, no, no, no word?
Speaker 3 (14:17):
What about I'm I'm so sorry, so disrespectful. Mewtwo is
definitely my favorite by far.
Speaker 1 (14:23):
Oh I never had mewtwo.
Speaker 3 (14:25):
Did you ever lock anybody every match?
Speaker 2 (14:27):
Brothers ever?
Speaker 1 (14:28):
Yeah? I just know I never played like I unlocked it.
Speaker 2 (14:32):
I never played you had to play eight hundred matches
to get in?
Speaker 1 (14:34):
Then maybe I don't have yeah, eight hundred.
Speaker 3 (14:39):
Eight hundred, Yes, Daunting task.
Speaker 1 (14:41):
Here are some issues I do.
Speaker 3 (14:44):
Everybody got e. I mean, this is you're not You're
not around the Timo gamer. That's why favorite.
Speaker 1 (14:50):
Stage that's actually except it.
Speaker 3 (14:53):
Is actually going to be the Mario Brothers two stage, okay,
because I'm like that. I like well the music though,
and Mario two is just like, you know, a classic,
But I like that Burdo comes out and like shoot
the ants at you and stuff you.
Speaker 2 (15:11):
Kind of a wild choice, but.
Speaker 1 (15:12):
That is a weird choice. So for me, high role
was my what is so many people? Why do hardcore
smash Brothers people hate that stage.
Speaker 3 (15:24):
Because everybody goes to the bottom when they're geting ready
to die and just bounce up and down off the
walls over and over.
Speaker 1 (15:30):
So that's why, Yes, I love that stage. Mm hmmm.
As far as characters, I mean I kind of continued
to play with Sammis, but I guess I would throw
Link into the Bowser other Bowser into the Bowser was
(15:55):
I'll go with Bowser for mine, just so I can
have a different one. What about weapons?
Speaker 3 (16:04):
Actually, I would say he has the best weapons.
Speaker 1 (16:07):
That's why I'm bringing up now, Yeah, what was your
favorite weapon?
Speaker 3 (16:12):
Well, I can definitely say the fan.
Speaker 1 (16:13):
I hate the fan pointless. Well, I mean like that's
kind of the beauty of the game is that they
give you all these pointless things too.
Speaker 2 (16:25):
But he's not ways to be annoying with them.
Speaker 3 (16:27):
What like the fan you can.
Speaker 1 (16:29):
Just continually really fast yea.
Speaker 3 (16:33):
Not to mention if they did use it right, they
could break a shield.
Speaker 2 (16:37):
But the home Run Bat was definitely.
Speaker 1 (16:39):
Yeah, home Run Bat was pretty hardcore. Magic carp was
one of those other jokes. But for me, the saber
is my go to weapon like thing. Maybe yeah, but
I would only do what I'd like to do. We
(17:02):
would do you know, any kind of Star Fucks related
levels will be fine, but lightsabers and pistol ray pistols, yeah,
ray guns only slow mo and then it just turns
into this epic ten minute battle.
Speaker 3 (17:19):
I've never thought about doing that.
Speaker 1 (17:21):
You got to.
Speaker 3 (17:21):
I've done Pokemon battles.
Speaker 1 (17:23):
Yeah, those are fun. There are a lot of magic
carbs stuff, a lot of magic carps, so.
Speaker 3 (17:32):
Please you know, I just found this out not too
long ago actually, that Sakurai was not actually planned to
make braw because he left how laboratories. That's true, and
he just like announced the Smash Brothers before he even says,
(17:53):
who's gonna make Smash Brothers?
Speaker 1 (17:54):
Right, But he was brought on.
Speaker 3 (17:56):
He brought on, He had to ask to be brought on.
Speaker 1 (17:58):
Well, he requests did a a meeting he would have
got called anyway, because he was kind of promised it
when he left.
Speaker 3 (18:06):
Nothing like giving a big game without knowing you're going
to do it.
Speaker 1 (18:10):
So Super Smash Brothers Brawl released what was it two
thousand and eight? Okay, uh, good additions to the game, right?
Oh yeah, yeah, So I figured you who was your
favorite character?
Speaker 3 (18:28):
Bra?
Speaker 1 (18:29):
Really I would assume Sonic.
Speaker 3 (18:32):
It would be if there wasn't a certain friend of
mine who wasn't super annoying with Sonic, Yeah, that would
be you Drew.
Speaker 1 (18:40):
Did he play Sonic?
Speaker 3 (18:41):
He continues to only play with Sonic, Yes, annoying.
Speaker 1 (18:46):
I don't I didn't really care for But anyway, I
played his Solid Snake.
Speaker 2 (18:52):
Yeah, because Static.
Speaker 1 (18:56):
It was wild, especially the way they kind of teased it,
like in the thing. I'll never forget that E three
like it was in two thousand and six, so like
two years before the game, but just the idea that
I could beat up Mario with Solid Snake excited. It
(19:17):
wasn't an epic trailer one thing about Brawl when they
were actually making like the opening video, how went through
set separate companies just to make it as epic as
it is.
Speaker 3 (19:34):
Oh, yeah.
Speaker 1 (19:35):
Yeah, what's is that your favorite? What's your favorite?
Speaker 3 (19:41):
No, the Colonel my favorite one.
Speaker 1 (19:43):
Oh wow, that's a big that's a big endorsement.
Speaker 3 (19:47):
I don't understand what like the community to smash of
this community, like why there's so many like I'm pro Melee,
I'm pro Brawl.
Speaker 1 (19:54):
Yeah, I'm a Melee guy.
Speaker 3 (19:56):
I mean I am, But I moved with the I
adjusted to the new games right, whereas I feel like
most people are like, no, I want to continue to
do conbos that you cannot defend. So I'm going to
stick with Melee. But I mean just overall production and
just balance.
Speaker 2 (20:16):
Balance is key thing.
Speaker 3 (20:18):
The new one, hands down, doesn't none of the other
one's hold off ford to it.
Speaker 1 (20:23):
So let's talk about the new one announced in twenty eleven,
So three years after the previous one came out. It
was announced announced in twenty eleven? What year is it four?
So it took him long enough.
Speaker 3 (20:40):
Yeah, at least it wasn't as agonizing as waiting for Brawl,
which was delayed twice. But I think the key thing
with the new one is, like I said, the balance.
You don't feel like any character can't beat another character,
even like Meddaite who this should have been in my trivia.
(21:03):
Mennonite is the first character in any fighting game to
be banned from a professional tournament. Of all the fighting games,
Mortal Kombat Street Fighter, he's the only character ever to
be banned because he was so unbalanced. But now he's
like so toning down and everybody feels right. Kind of
(21:23):
hard to talk about just how fluid and nice the
game was, I mean, without the screenshots, don't to do
with justice, just in terms of the frames and animations
and things like that, the backgrounds, even the three D
s version, Like it's obviously a scale down version, but
they did a good job and giving it enough uniqueness
in the stages so that you don't feel like you're
(21:45):
double dipping.
Speaker 1 (21:47):
Okay, well let's talk about the new characters. Yes, so
you have the fit trainer. How does she play? Or
do you pick the male or females in.
Speaker 3 (22:02):
You just you just pick future and there outs and outfits.
Speaker 1 (22:05):
So there is a male.
Speaker 3 (22:06):
Okay, it's very zero sup Samus like I assumed, which
is which is good?
Speaker 1 (22:13):
Animal Crossings Villager another edition, very fun, what kind.
Speaker 3 (22:19):
Of Probably the best thing you can do is he
can plant a tree, grow it and then you use
the axe to cut it down, and it's pretty much
almost an instant kill.
Speaker 1 (22:32):
Don't know if the tree lands is.
Speaker 3 (22:33):
Very very even when it grows, like if you're standing
on top of when it grows, or really he's pretty
good and he can he can grab, He can pick
up any projectile, which is kind of an animal crossing
dans is being able to pick up stuff you didn't
throw it.
Speaker 2 (22:51):
Back at you.
Speaker 1 (22:52):
Rosalina and Belser Junior.
Speaker 3 (22:55):
I think Rosalina is supposed to be the substitute for
ice climbers who didn't make it back because as the Star,
you can actually control it like you could Nana if
you were scared enough.
Speaker 2 (23:05):
You can trick the computer in Toto doing.
Speaker 3 (23:06):
That, but now it's actually a feature send the Star
out and whatever she does, it will do, so I
can literally be juggling you. However, you can fight the
Star and knock the Star off, which then Rosaline has
helpless for about ten fifteen seconds.
Speaker 2 (23:22):
Kind of interesting.
Speaker 1 (23:23):
That is interesting. Little Mac.
Speaker 3 (23:27):
Most overrated player in the game. What do you mean
everybody is picking him online because of how cool and
strong he is, but he has the worst air recovery,
so which is he just does a little uppercut. It
literally goes nowhere.
Speaker 1 (23:43):
So distance recovery is bad.
Speaker 3 (23:47):
So online, when you're playing in for a Glory mode,
which is flat stage, no items, you knock him off.
Speaker 2 (23:55):
If you do, he can't get back on.
Speaker 3 (23:57):
He has the lowest win percentage online because everybody's picking
him and they just see like I don't know if
you've seen the video, but when when you hit him enough,
he builds up a ko bar I just like can
punch out hits with you're out, So everybody, that's why
everybody's open to get the hit kind of.
Speaker 1 (24:14):
People with seven with the with the load weapon.
Speaker 3 (24:17):
Yeah, just just wait out and it zooms in, slows
down and then it's cool.
Speaker 1 (24:25):
Uhninja Pokemon X.
Speaker 3 (24:28):
And Y, I think I think it's an odd choice
considering there's like seven hundred Pokemon to pick from. But Benja,
I guess, kind of feels like Chic except with the
counter attack and I don't know, it's like the speed
and normal attacks are really all there, and the same
(24:51):
slight variations of course, but I would compare most of Chic.
Speaker 1 (24:55):
Okay, all right, and then we have dark Pit.
Speaker 3 (25:06):
Dark Pit is just kind of like the colone of Pit.
Speaker 2 (25:10):
He has just minor.
Speaker 3 (25:13):
He's just one of those minor variations of Pitt, kind
of like that same thing with Doctor Mario. He's in.
Speaker 2 (25:22):
As well.
Speaker 1 (25:23):
And Robin.
Speaker 3 (25:24):
Lucina and Mark, Well, Lucina is a variation of Mark.
Her difference she actually has a big difference though, so
with Martha and Melee and Brall. The tip of Histori
does a lot more damage.
Speaker 1 (25:36):
But Mark is stilling it.
Speaker 3 (25:37):
Mark is still in it. But with Lucina or I
should I should put it this way. With Mark, if
I hit you with the broad side of the sword,
it does less damage. The tip does a lot. With
Lucina is even so I guess you could say she's
Mark for news.
Speaker 1 (25:54):
Okay, what about Robin.
Speaker 3 (25:58):
I don't really care for Robin. It's just kind of
his her own character. Pig Mail a female. It pays
a lot of harmers to the fire on the games.
I don't know if you've ever played with you know,
she's got all the magic abilities and the sword and
they all charge it, but they all run out, So
they run, you know, they run out just like in
(26:19):
the game for them to come back. Kind of cool.
Choke Choka is becoming increasingly annoying. He's from Xeno Blade
and his biggest thing is the I believe it's called Armada,
where he can change his mode like his nutrienty, so
(26:41):
he can change to defense mode, which is really heavy
but slow. He can change the speed or to being
able to jump.
Speaker 2 (26:50):
Which click of a button or you just hit being
and he changes.
Speaker 3 (26:57):
So he's got all these different vases. He can change
to really good mass attacks, good counters. He's a solid character,
but just the trick is mastering what motor you're going
to be in, so because there's always a disadvantage of
whatever motor pick.
Speaker 1 (27:15):
Uh, we'll see that one. Mega Man.
Speaker 2 (27:20):
My favorite character of course.
Speaker 1 (27:22):
Right we assume.
Speaker 3 (27:25):
He just has you.
Speaker 1 (27:26):
Know what, can he switch mouns? No, so what do
you get one?
Speaker 2 (27:31):
He will.
Speaker 3 (27:34):
He has his megabuster, but all of his attacks are
attacks from Mega Man games, so I'm kind of jumping genres.
Speaker 1 (27:47):
Or not genres but topics.
Speaker 3 (27:50):
But he kind of reminds me of Dante from Devilman
Cry and Marvelus capcom where he just has so many
attacks that just seem like they should be specialized, but
they're not. So he's overwhelming. However, he's really slow. Okay,
so strong, really slow. A lot of attacks to master.
Speaker 1 (28:12):
Have you mastered it? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (28:13):
I feel like I have.
Speaker 1 (28:15):
Hopeful about the next time you come over, will you
should bring the disc download it? Ye, bring your whole
thing over here, all right, pac Man.
Speaker 2 (28:30):
Pacman's cool.
Speaker 3 (28:32):
I thought he was kind of a choice, but I'm
I'm welcome to since Namco was working on the game.
Speaker 2 (28:38):
He's quirky, Like he throws a fire hiding down.
Speaker 3 (28:42):
He throws a parapella and then like chases it after
it and in the process bites you. He has this
thing where he charges up like different Namco items and
he'll throw like an asteroid at you or the the gallica,
like a cat or a key or something. He's quirking.
(29:06):
He's a better looking game.
Speaker 1 (29:09):
And watch Okay, it looked like it like when the
fighting like kind of like eccentric, kind of weird ME fighter.
Speaker 3 (29:20):
I don't really play with the me fighters, but I
guess I appreciate them. I mean, I mean they're being
I mean, there's so many variations to him. It's really
just like, I mean, they're custom characters obviously, but I
I can't get into I mean, whether you want to
be a sword fighter or a gunner or a brawler.
There's nine different moves for you to pick character.
Speaker 1 (29:43):
So do they may make at least other characters.
Speaker 3 (29:47):
No, they're they're pretty original, pretty strong too, actually so interesting.
Speaker 1 (29:56):
And then lastly, I want to talk about the duck
Hunt duo. What is that about? I remember when they
first announced it, it was odd.
Speaker 2 (30:05):
I don't get it.
Speaker 1 (30:05):
But is it eccentric as well?
Speaker 3 (30:08):
It's extremely eccentric. But he's not a weak character. I
mean a lot of people use him. I mean the
biggest thing about him that's annoying is for some reason,
he has this can that he can, like a tin
can that he controls, and he just like just moves
it all across the board and then waits to dead.
(30:29):
Dated that sounds like that sounds stupid, doesn't it? Kind
of trying to visualize it just doesn't make sense. I
don't know why he has a can. The duck doesn't
really do anything other than fly you to recover and
a couple of pecks here and there. But I mean
finals Magic School, because you know they do the as
(30:51):
if you're playing duck.
Speaker 1 (30:52):
Hunt, do you use the motion?
Speaker 3 (30:55):
No?
Speaker 1 (30:56):
They just kind of how they fake it. Yeah, okay,
that's too bad. As far as levels, any new levels that.
Speaker 3 (31:11):
They're also good. But my favorite one is probably the
Warrior Worre stage. Okay, only because the mom randomly comes
out and then she spots you. It's just like it's
just a hilarious animation that goes on.
Speaker 1 (31:27):
Is funny.
Speaker 2 (31:31):
Weird one on Brawl, So this one's pretty cool.
Speaker 1 (31:35):
Okay. Any new items.
Speaker 3 (31:39):
All the items are terrible. What they're all terrible? They
went too far with overpowered items. Like there's an item
from Skyward Sword that just blows you off the stage.
It's so strong. It's I mean, you have to turn
it off unless you're just trying to have one of
those drunk everybody just plays smash Brothers and laugh type
(32:03):
of knights or whatever. It's just an overpower item. What's
the other one? There's there's like a variation of the
Red Gun where you shoot it but it delays and
then it shot sets you really quick and just explodes
and it's really strong.
Speaker 1 (32:21):
It's just weird.
Speaker 3 (32:23):
I don't know what they were thinking with the items.
I think they could have just kept it simple. There's
you know, like the dragoon where you collected three pieces
and then you fly at somebody. Yeah, there's a variation
of that where you put together a big gun that
pretty much does Samwich's final smash. Nobody wants that, Yeah,
(32:43):
I mean I just I don't know. I pretty much
turn them off, which is sad because items.
Speaker 1 (32:48):
Is part so ambos.
Speaker 2 (32:54):
Oh yeah, I think that's part of the best.
Speaker 3 (32:56):
Reaure in the game.
Speaker 1 (32:57):
So which ones do you? I just fox today, okay.
Speaker 3 (33:01):
And heartbroken that I may not be able to buy
a mark because they apparently are being discontinued. It's not popular,
but I have Mario, Donkey.
Speaker 1 (33:11):
Kong Yoshi, and Kirby with levels.
Speaker 2 (33:14):
Donkey kong Yoshi have fifty.
Speaker 3 (33:15):
Everybody else haven't touched yet.
Speaker 1 (33:17):
Fifty fifty. You have fifty level Ambos.
Speaker 3 (33:20):
It's not hard to get. Oh okay, it may take
like maybe an hour or two out. Yeah, but the
leveling up is not The thing is playing against them
so that they pick up your attributes, because I could
if I wanted to, I could just have my two
amoebos fight for three hours and they'll get to level fifty.
Speaker 1 (33:39):
But they won't be very smart, so you put them
on CPU and they just fine.
Speaker 2 (33:43):
You could if you wanted to.
Speaker 1 (33:44):
So, once you get to level fifty, can you become smarter?
Speaker 3 (33:47):
Yeah, they still can, that's not really what do.
Speaker 1 (33:51):
You mean becomes smart?
Speaker 3 (33:53):
Like for example, I trained my Donkey Kong to do
a lot of grabs. So I picked Donkey Kong and
flog him so that he would understand I do a
lot of.
Speaker 1 (34:03):
Rapping, okay, and he pretty much does the same thing,
like when you fight him.
Speaker 3 (34:08):
Well, when I fight him, and when I have him
fight other people, he instinctive.
Speaker 1 (34:12):
You have him fight other people? What do you mean?
Speaker 3 (34:14):
So like, like the other night we got together, everybody
about their meebo, I joined, I joined the game, My
doggy Kong got in the game, and everybody did. So
we did a player smash my team against their team,
and so Donkey Kong is fighting the other players in
the mebos and he pretty much does It's not exactly
(34:38):
like me. He still does some stupid things, but he's
pretty strong, and he's much stronger than the level of
my computer. That was probably my biggest grape of like
mail and brawl, Like, once you got pretty good at
the game, the computer wasn't hard to fight, but most
people can't beat their level fifty and mebos like sometimes
I get too stocked. He'll beat me with two stock,
(34:58):
and I feel like a a pretty good Smash Brothers player. Yeah,
I don't think you would have any chance of being
Mymiebel at all.
Speaker 1 (35:06):
All Right, we'll have to test that.
Speaker 3 (35:08):
It just might crush here.
Speaker 1 (35:10):
Alright, we'll see, we'll do a follow.
Speaker 3 (35:12):
Up, who we will?
Speaker 1 (35:15):
Uh? Did you buy a GameCube controller because the adapter
is hard to find?
Speaker 3 (35:20):
No, I've decided. I just well, I played the demo
when they had the Smash event it best Buy, and
I picked up on the pro controller really quickly. They
felt right home from me, so I didn't feel the
need to.
Speaker 1 (35:32):
I have a pro controller, so I'll probably be okay. Yeah,
it's pretty natural. I mean, yeah.
Speaker 3 (35:36):
It it feels fine. I mean, I guess nostalgia.
Speaker 1 (35:40):
Yeah, but it's kind of expensive that.
Speaker 3 (35:44):
None of the adapter is hard to find. It's not
worth it.
Speaker 1 (35:47):
Yeah, they're going for like one hundred and twenty bucks
on Amazon. Yeah, which is insane.
Speaker 3 (35:54):
The Martha Neebels are going for like ninety.
Speaker 1 (35:57):
Why because they're not making up?
Speaker 2 (35:58):
Yeah, they're hard to find.
Speaker 1 (36:02):
So as far as the game, the way it's being received,
destructor give a nine point five out of ten. Euro
Gamer gave it an eight out of ten, Game in
Former gave it a nine point seven to five out
of ten, games Radar four point five out of five,
GameSpot nine out of ten, IGN nine point eight out
(36:23):
of ten, and Hardcore Gamer gave it a four point
five out of five.
Speaker 3 (36:28):
And it just won the vga's Best Fighting Game of
the Year.
Speaker 1 (36:33):
Wow, it's huge. Uh so I'll pick it up.
Speaker 2 (36:38):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (36:39):
Uh? I mean verses though, why how is that gonna help?
Speaker 3 (36:47):
Well, for one, it's the only confirmed way you're gonna
get YouTube.
Speaker 2 (36:54):
Mm hmm a's DC when it comes out.
Speaker 1 (36:56):
Okay, you might, but I don't know. Although you can
buy it mm hm.
Speaker 3 (37:02):
They said they don't want to do paid DLC. But
I guess I don't know. I guess that's the same
thing about a forty dollar game.
Speaker 1 (37:10):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (37:10):
I just think you. I think you should at least
get it to play it and then maybe again.
Speaker 1 (37:15):
Okay, say you experienced both, gotcha, Well, I definitely get it.
You recommend it to our listeners as well to get
ye Muslim, don't you know what I just bought? I
bought on Black Friday, but they had games, but I
won't get one. Yeah, it was only value games and
(37:37):
this was a meyer, So we got a gift for
somebody Portal two, and then I got myself Ductails for you.
Speaker 2 (37:47):
How is that?
Speaker 1 (37:48):
How do you feel it's I mean, it's pretty much
an exact.
Speaker 3 (37:52):
I was just in a discussion with Day because I
just beat that, like maybe a month ago. It didn't
feel as wow as the Origin.
Speaker 2 (38:00):
I don't know, like the music was on point.
Speaker 1 (38:02):
Yeah, the music if visual looks good.
Speaker 3 (38:05):
There's something about it. I don't know if it's the
voice acting or all the cut scenes. I just feel
like it took the flare out of it. But it's
still fund Actually never beat the original.
Speaker 1 (38:15):
Yeah, I never did, so that'll be fun for me
to relive.
Speaker 3 (38:19):
I welcome or ducktails too, if they ever saw it.
Speaker 1 (38:23):
Yeah, if it's in value, yeah, if I got it
for free after buying a fifteen dollars game, yeah, if
I got two games for fifteen bucks, got.
Speaker 3 (38:33):
A waste what you buy two fifty dollars games and
they got a value game for free?
Speaker 1 (38:38):
No, no, no, no no, you buy one fifty game,
you get another game free. So I got two fifty
dollar games on it. So basically I paid seven dollars
for ducktails. Okay, totally worth it?
Speaker 3 (38:49):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (38:50):
Actually yeah?
Speaker 1 (38:54):
Nice. So next episode is Halo.
Speaker 3 (38:59):
Yes, I know nothing about Halo.
Speaker 1 (39:01):
I know, I'm so.
Speaker 3 (39:04):
I was close to buying Xbox one so I could
buy the Halo collection. Yeah, but not a street Fighter
five is a Sony exclusive. I won't be buying Xbox one.
Speaker 1 (39:14):
Wow, it's funny that that puts you over the edge.
Speaker 3 (39:20):
Gotta have my street Fighter.
Speaker 1 (39:23):
Well that was fun again, five and a half out
of ten, right, five and a half. We'll see if
I do better. We'll see if I do better on
Halo that.
Speaker 2 (39:30):
I think that just means you're a half failure.
Speaker 1 (39:33):
Well, I feel like I should have got the four
levels hit them.
Speaker 3 (39:37):
Failures always feel like they deserve something.
Speaker 1 (39:39):
That's true. That's true. We'll see what I do on
the Halo one. There's a lot you could pull from
so not as broad though as Mass Effect.
Speaker 2 (39:46):
So I feel like I'll do okay, And that's your
last episode, right, yes.
Speaker 1 (39:52):
Fall Out. My name is Ryan, Thanks for listening, and
there's always good gaming year
Speaker 2 (40:03):
All right,
