Speaker 1 (00:00):
I don't know what everybody, everybody when you fill ups
here of the rushing fingers tight class soft to where
we talked anything and everything about racing from north to
south at various shops.

Speaker 2 (00:10):
Were going as an unedited and no bullshit anyone to
just go back to the pit.

Speaker 3 (00:15):
Well he fucked up, he can kiss my dad.

Speaker 2 (00:18):
Were talking about rules. I don't know we got all
these rules cues that we see on the track.

Speaker 4 (00:22):
I've been waiting for this home even run you were
running the oh for like five years inside of me's
blaming me watching me in that day, Raine Jacket, Raine.

Speaker 2 (00:34):
Jacket, I raised it just like you joint David's us.
I need for the wind.

Speaker 5 (00:37):
You can talk to various drivers in their shop where
they cut their teeth, blood their blood and they make
their name in the.

Speaker 2 (00:43):
Sport that we love of short track racing on a tree.

Speaker 5 (00:49):
And so get back, relax and grab a road soda
and enjoying the various drivers that we go and.

Speaker 4 (00:54):
Meet and now on with the show that's always says
every time, Oh, you know we should do this, we
should do that.

Speaker 3 (00:58):
You're scared, you're scared? Fuck New River.

Speaker 2 (01:03):
How we doing? Everybody? My name is Randy Philts here
of the Recken Fenders podcast, and as we always have,
we let TPM sign off on the start of every
fucking episode that we have here. This past weekend, we
went over to New River as James was a big
fan of and helped out our buddy Sammy Pachitt because

(01:23):
Sammy was pacheating. I hope you like that word play
right there. Yeah, that was good. It's not about it
at work. I was like, I fucking try to figure
it out. But yeah, So we went over to New River.
I showed up late, got to sit at the pitgate
thing to where they allow us over and nothing's going on.
I'm like, hey, can I cross? He's like, you gotta wait.

(01:43):
I was like, for fucking what what are we waiting for?
There's nothing on the track. You have late models lining
up for fucking tech, So can I go. He's like, yeah,
they said it was okay. I was like, thanks, love
that place. So the organization's great. Well, I get it
to try. And I'm not saying it like that. I know, stop,

(02:05):
I'm not saying it like that. I was just confused
what he said. No. I was like, why what I do?
Why can't I why can't I cross, But yeah, no,
we went and helped out Sammy and uh yeah, I
mean we had a bad fast car. He brought a
bad fast car. Like I even looked on Facebook Marketplace
right after. I was like, I need that for a

(02:26):
street car.

Speaker 6 (02:27):
Man.

Speaker 2 (02:27):
That thing sounded nice out there, even being an automatic.
I've had a stick shift, but even being an automatic
sounded good.

Speaker 3 (02:34):
Yeah, and it was fast. I'm glad they took out.
I guess like the competition was really bitching about they
have a breakout rule at New River where you can't
go under a certain time, and all the competitors were
complaining about it all year. So for this big they had,
it was called the Bomber fifty two b fifty two

(02:54):
bombers Erase, it was fifty two laps. You did twenty
five and then you got ten minutes to check stuff
on your either your nice car, your junk box, whatever
you decided to bring that day, and then you went
back and did another twenty five laps or will it'd
be like twenty seven. So yeah, they all did that,
and then they saw Sammy's name on the list of

(03:16):
drivers in and commence bitching. Like straight up, everyone just
don't Sammy does it right. We've had him on and
we talked about it before. Where you know, there are
certain rules where it's like, oh, two grand's the max
and all this. Well, if you find a car that's
under two grand, that's you know, hit a deer or

(03:37):
hit a tree or but it's a nicer car and
you do the work to make it raceable and driveable.
I mean that to me is fair. It's fair game.
There's a lot the divisions are you either have the
nicer cars and the people that work on their stuff,
or you have the guys that pull it out of
the woods every weekend and use the practice to get
the leaves out. I mean there's literally two kinds of

(03:58):
people in this division, and it does cause some bullshit.

Speaker 2 (04:03):
Well yeah, but I mean to be fair. When I
looked at race monitor and he was like a second
and a half faster, I was like, God damn dude.

Speaker 3 (04:17):
We were the only ones that literally we had temp Gage, tire,
temp Gage, we had all your people. They run it
like it's an actual race car because they are still
racing and it's just embedded in a well you get
what I'm saying. Like they race it like it's a
late model almost.

Speaker 4 (04:33):
You know.

Speaker 3 (04:33):
They they scale it at home. They do all that,
and they try things, and that's what you gotta do.
You went in at the shop, not at the track.
So and you know, I'm one of those culprits that
pulled the car out the woods on the Friday night
to go to Wake County. I knew I would like yeah,
like that. I knew I wasn't gonna like win. I
was just out driving having fun.

Speaker 4 (04:54):
You know.

Speaker 3 (04:55):
Hell, I got a couple of thirds and a couple
of fists, and I thought, I thought it was a
fucking amazing you know what I mean, it was awesome.
Most of the time. I just showed up to have
fun and hope maybe something happened where the top five
would get wrecked and you'd be able to come out
on top.

Speaker 6 (05:09):
You know.

Speaker 3 (05:09):
But I do say they need to just have a
split the division and have like a B class where
it is nothing. You know, you can have a car
that you just pull out the woods and have fun with,
and then have a class where you can have like
the nicer cars but still kind of be in any
car class, because that's what it's called. It's called any car.

(05:30):
So you know, have that class where the guys want
to actually work on them, but some of us can't
afford fucking late models. I mean, that's just that's just
the truth of it, you know. And if you're doing
it all out of pocket, it's hella fucking expensive. I mean,
the Thanksgiving Classic that's next weekend at Southern National, it's
pretty pricey and you didn't win them much unless you're
in the late model stocks. Like, it's it's just, you know,

(05:53):
it's a heart, It's just one of those hard things. Sorry,
he's hitching his arm real quick.

Speaker 2 (06:01):
I didn't know if you wanted to keep going there.
But yeah, that's not on the tracks fault or anything
like that. I like that they opened it up and
they didn't have the breakout rule because we would have
definitely had to.

Speaker 3 (06:09):
He didn't show up with a breakout rule. Huh, he didn't.
He wouldn't show up if it had a breakout rule, yeah,
because you know how hard that would be to be
that slow.

Speaker 2 (06:19):
What was it like in nineteen a nineteen seconds or
like it was either fucking eighteen one.

Speaker 3 (06:26):
I know when they first did it was like twenty,
but then they kind of gave it a little bit
because cars were getting faster.

Speaker 2 (06:30):
So yeah, I mean we're not boasting about it.

Speaker 3 (06:34):
It was we're just that's what happened, guys. I mean
we're not.

Speaker 2 (06:37):
That's literally what happened. What are you run in the
qualifying at eighteen three?

Speaker 3 (06:41):
No eighteen four? And then it was an eighteen three
in the race towards the end.

Speaker 2 (06:45):
Yeah, but like the first practice I was like, damn,
he's quick. He was like an eighteen to two eighteen one, So,
I mean I get it, Like those cars are fucking fast.
Like he's even got a fucking automatic track. The wole
fucking thing with them steerwheel with a you just hold
the button and it'll just go right back. Yeah. I

(07:07):
was like, say me, this ain't no motherfucking race car.
The fuck is this? Where's the disconnect? What the fuck
is this ship?

Speaker 3 (07:16):
But so we had fun. I mean, the other the
good part about the whole night though, was that late
Model race.

Speaker 2 (07:21):
The Model race was good. I mean, it was clean
and green.

Speaker 3 (07:25):
It was cool because you watch these guys, they're trying
to save tires. A one hundred and thirty one lap race,
last three quarter track, like literally the leaders were almost
two of them and they were just cruising. You had
guys that were they take off on the outside because

(07:45):
no one everyone's being easy, and they'd pass three cars
around the turn and then they'd get to the lead
and then they try to slow down and another car
would do it, and it got really good. Then we
had that one. I don't remember what the caution was for.
Shout out to the forty seven. I'm just gonna say
now that dude went lat one dragon frame sounded thing
like the thing too for forty two. Yeah, he was

(08:07):
scraping frame. Sounded like thing was on fucking seven cylinders.
And that dude was just driving his heart out the
whole time. And he mean he was up to the
top five.

Speaker 2 (08:15):
He was doing good. Towards the end of it.

Speaker 3 (08:17):
That's when well everyone started actually hammering on it, and
that's when you could see like, yeah, it's and then
it broke.

Speaker 2 (08:23):
Yeah, he got in the record.

Speaker 3 (08:23):
He got in the reck with that one car, I.

Speaker 2 (08:25):
Know, but I don't know what he broke to where.
I mean, he was dragging whatever the fuck that was
like the whole race actually, whatever whatever it was, he
got his money's worth it around that track. Because that's
how we knew it was the forty two because the
sparks would just fly out of tude. It was a
cool ass purple color too, all the way down the
backstretch into three. But like you were saying, like krants

(08:50):
and laps of it.

Speaker 3 (08:52):
Were literally like that would be if the leaders would
have just like raced as hard as they could and
they stayed like the would have got lapped like it
was close.

Speaker 2 (09:01):
Yeah. So the thing is is like they didn't have
a mandatory fuel stop, So this is why they weren't
saving tires. They were just saving fuel because.

Speaker 3 (09:09):
Both that place each stars.

Speaker 2 (09:10):
Yeah, well you get my point. They were they it
was one hundred and thirty one lap race. Typically what
wasn't set in the driver's meeting that they ran out
at like one. Yeah, so like halfway through, like the
half of the race, I wish it was on like
a streaming things.

Speaker 3 (09:29):
So they do it there, they do it their own.

Speaker 2 (09:31):
Oh that's right, yeah, they do so, but like for
like most of the race, you could see that people
were just like sitting there and then what was it
like it was like lap it was the one when
Riley Neal when the stack up happened.

Speaker 3 (09:46):
That was like thirty nine. The second attempt at lap
thirty nine to go, thirty nine to go.

Speaker 2 (09:51):
Yeah, it's sorry.

Speaker 3 (09:52):
The billboard didn't do laps up. They did laps down,
so it was thirty nine to go, so it'd be like.

Speaker 2 (09:57):
Lap ninety two or uh yeah, yeah ninety two. So yeah,
there was a stack up to where who who spun
the tires?

Speaker 3 (10:09):
I think it was they said whoever in front of
whoever was in front of Clay Jones spun him, and
then Clay and then I just played the according.

Speaker 2 (10:16):
Stacked up and Riley got the worst of it. But
after that they.

Speaker 3 (10:21):
Went after turned up, you know what I mean. So,
I mean Connor Jones led a lot on that race too.

Speaker 2 (10:26):
He was hanging out and then he which is so
awesome where he's not fucking destroying someone or.

Speaker 3 (10:34):
Well, I mean it's not can't destroy someone if you're
the only if you're out front. I mean he got
he went when he got to the lead, he was
no one was down. I don't think it was. He
was gone.

Speaker 2 (10:43):
Well instead of just yelling out car numbers here Thomas Bean.
He was having a good run there. Ronnie Bassett Junr.
Was doing good until he hit the inside wall and
then it messed it up a little bit, but he
came back. Riley Music. He had a fast car, which
that is the forty seven. But I don't think that's

(11:04):
who you were talking about. Yeah, No, I was talking
about Rusty. Rusty had a solid car. He led a
couple of laps too. There, Tristan McKee, he fucking third
lap Dorn people. I'm like, all right, get there, get
to the lead. But no, it was it was a
good It was a good race. I I I enjoyed

(11:26):
the ship out of it. I mean it was a
clean race too, which was the best thing about it was.

Speaker 3 (11:30):
But it wasn't It wasn't really single file. You had
so you had like, no, you had like six or
seven of them in one group, and then you have
like a second and a half two seconds out, there'd
be another group that was big and they were they
were getting a little after it but saving at the
same time. Yeah, they were all all over each other.
And then you had Lapsovich and what did you say?
His name was krant Krantz, And I mean Lapsovitch and

(11:52):
Krantz both actually got in a wreck, but we didn't
get we couldn't see it. Doing so well, which comes
back finish is fourth.

Speaker 2 (11:59):
Yeah, I know, but he I don't know what happened
between him and yeah, because it was a trailer, but
we we see them feel feel save entire saving, and
then when they started racing, then there's a caution and
then we don't see laps of it, and then we
see grants and the whole left front ripped right off
of him, Like fuck just happened there? But uh no,

(12:24):
it was, like I said, it was a good race.
It got heckticed towards the end, but they cleaned it
up a little bit. But he couldn't really you couldn't
really uh complain, I mean other than the fucking Okay, guys, dude,
I don't know what what what was what took so
long to do the the fucking the introduction.

Speaker 3 (12:53):
I honestly, I think they were doing driver intros, I know,
but like they did that, I think they had some
g SPOCKX races which we didn't go over there.

Speaker 2 (13:03):
To like look them. That was before that was before
that was after the Legends race.

Speaker 3 (13:09):
Yeah, which that was also a pretty good race.

Speaker 2 (13:11):
Which yeah, the Legends race was a really good race.

Speaker 3 (13:14):
But the guy next to us which we got to
talk to Daniel. Daniel Dean yea, which we want to
get on.

Speaker 2 (13:21):
We got to get him on. I didn't text him
this weekend, so I mean, I.

Speaker 3 (13:24):
Mean he I think he said Friday was his day.
But Friday, yeah, we're not.

Speaker 2 (13:29):
I mean, we might bring the fucking thing out to
see we might bring this out. We can get power
in the mics out there, fuck it, bring people over
to Ant's house.

Speaker 3 (13:40):
That'd be fun. Well, even just like in because there's
gonna be at the track, I'll do it.

Speaker 2 (13:45):
There's gonna be Yeah, if there's a bear at the track,
fucking we'll do it at the track.

Speaker 3 (13:49):
That'd be cool.

Speaker 2 (13:51):
I mean, hey, I mean it's the Flor's four hundred, dude,
you get my point. Like I called the floors four hundred,
just like I call Bowman Gray Bowman and get yelled at.
It's just a little mannerhythms. All right, fucking yankee, But
you get my point. Ah? Where was I going with that?

(14:13):
Because now you fucked me all up? Oh, we were
trying to get Daniel on, but he' said Friday was
his day. We're gonna be out in South Carolina.

Speaker 3 (14:21):
So we'll get him on.

Speaker 2 (14:22):
He's cool. I talked.

Speaker 3 (14:24):
I've actually helped him before. I went to Southern National
with Sammy one day and they're running chargers and they
popped a tire and they were running over and I
just I just grabbed the fucking impact and I just
started changing his tire for him. So, I mean, so
I've helped him and then we've talked a few times
here and there. I met him at Rocking. I met
him at Rockingham actually I worked there, so.

Speaker 2 (14:44):
His story, you know what I mean. He used to
work for Jennifer Joe Cobb. He doesn't like this. Yeah,
So I mean he got his he's still he's doing
like a sponsorship ship now that he told us and
stuff like. So, Yeah, no, we'll definitely get him on.
I think that'll be cool. We got to get some
of the Southern people on this thing, even though I

(15:05):
mean I haven't really branched out or anything like that.
I tried to get a hold of Charlie to talk
about the whole coalition, which we'll go into.

Speaker 3 (15:13):
Yeah, he left us and he both he left us
on Red, both of us.

Speaker 2 (15:17):
He probably just doesn't like you, probably not, that's probably it.

Speaker 3 (15:22):
I asked you, I asked the tough questions. That's why.

Speaker 4 (15:24):
No.

Speaker 2 (15:25):
But no, like you were saying the Legends race, that
was good, But like you were saying, Daniel Deane's old
man was out there.

Speaker 3 (15:32):
Yeah, and like the guy that was next to us,
just like he was having a grand all time watching. Yeah,
he was excited.

Speaker 2 (15:38):
Hey fell down, he was so yeah, he's so excited.
He fell down. He was trying to push to start
the car already. And with those motorcycle motors, when they fire,
they go.

Speaker 3 (15:48):
They don't go, not like the late Model where you
could kind of just coast it.

Speaker 2 (15:51):
Yeah, yeah, go. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (15:55):
So that was that.

Speaker 2 (15:56):
Scottie Benford had a fucking hell of a race.

Speaker 6 (15:59):
He was gone.

Speaker 2 (16:00):
Yeah, from the drop he was, he was gone. Jacob,
Jacob O'Neil and Shane Irving they were having a hell
of a battle along with who's the other one? He like,
I think that would would have been Shane Irving because
right at the end he spun.

Speaker 3 (16:19):
Oh yeah the other They had the Dale number three
kind of but it was white and orange.

Speaker 2 (16:22):
Yeah, I love that car was awesome. But yeah, no,
other than that, I mean, I.

Speaker 3 (16:29):
Mean, we had the we had the kids, the Bandoleros,
which was there was only three of them.

Speaker 2 (16:34):
So I mean Spit and ben Lee sing.

Speaker 3 (16:36):
Those are the guys that were next to us that
thank you, thank you to the I guess the last name, Sandy,
so said Sandy team for letting us stand on top
of their nice holler so I could see the whole
track for the race.

Speaker 2 (16:49):
James said he was gonna swan tom bomb.

Speaker 3 (16:51):
If anyone came over. We were swant on right Frogs
Flash Dude, Rob.

Speaker 2 (16:59):
Van Dan, the people. Uh so yeah no.

Speaker 6 (17:02):
But so.

Speaker 2 (17:05):
The thing is though, well just like other than that,
like the racing was great, sammy, besides the fact of
everything wrapped up to how much.

Speaker 3 (17:17):
I think we got. I think it was up to
like sixth.

Speaker 2 (17:27):
Up to third.

Speaker 3 (17:29):
It was the second O one, not the first one.
There was two O ones. There's no one w and
no one.

Speaker 2 (17:34):
Yeah, so this is fifty one, fifty two, oh yeah,
up to fourth, damn damn. So see I get like,
oh yeah, dam he did run at eighteen three just
to put, just just to put into perspective, Brady Price,

(17:56):
which who had the terceell that finished it, well yeah,
I always fucked that up. At finished second he ran
a nineteen to one, so eight tenths is fucking crazy anyway, Uh,
he ran a good race. I mean what the halfway
break he complained about a vibration, But what did we
figure that was? Out? About just running?

Speaker 3 (18:19):
I just took, I just took. I fucking took all
the rubber out the wheels. I think what it was
is we put that different tire on the we swapped
them tires, and it just it was just loading more
on the right rear because it was a little bigger,
and he and that was just a feeling he feels.
So it felt flat to him because we didn't do
that all day.

Speaker 2 (18:37):
Yeah, that's true.

Speaker 3 (18:38):
And I don't know what the pressures were when his son, Aaron,
he said it back to start, No, I mean at
the start, I don't know what it was and what
their usual pressures are.

Speaker 2 (18:49):
And then when we did the halfway break, he put
them back.

Speaker 3 (18:51):
Here because we had to swap. Yeah, we had to swap.

Speaker 2 (18:54):
Almost almost lost his whole fucking phone on the track.
That would have been a de precaution.

Speaker 3 (18:59):
Yeah, hey, the spoiler helps save it though.

Speaker 2 (19:02):
Yeah, I guess so, that big old fucking spoiler. So yeah, no,
like long story short, I mean I still got to
get him a DQ cone because he said that, and
I kind of got a shirt from him in that
in that drawer somewhere, So we'll get him his shirt.
You can bring it to the Classic when I'm up
and up at New Hampshire for a Thanksgiving. We'll be

(19:23):
at Claremont for that too. We'll go see it Thanksgiving Classic.
I totally forgot about it, and then Uh, I kept.

Speaker 3 (19:31):
Singing entries for it, and I was like, Oh, that's cool.

Speaker 2 (19:33):
I didn't know the minivan fucking race there. I gotta
find out what day that is. Someone let me know.
I'll rent a goddamn minivan. Boone would be a static
at the fucking pet fence watching me wall the fuck
out of it. But uh, going back to the topic here,
UH went to tag They said that the spoiler was
too much.

Speaker 3 (19:52):
So well, so here was what I got out of that.

Speaker 2 (19:54):
Well, the cars want to come with him?

Speaker 3 (19:56):
Well no, but in the rules it does say you're
allowed they want want you. You're allowed to do like
I guess you'd say, decorations.

Speaker 2 (20:03):
Yeah, I read it. It is a decoration thing you're
allowed to have a panel for.

Speaker 3 (20:06):
In my opinion, I think that's more of a decoration,
because we're definitely I don't care if it wasn't.

Speaker 2 (20:13):
Okay, So let's play the devil advocate here if it was.
If it was a decoration, it wouldn't be formed to the.

Speaker 3 (20:21):
Well, all the Samy, the last three cars Sam he's made,
they look he likes how he wants them to look good.

Speaker 2 (20:28):
That's why I'm not saying. I'm not saying it didn't.
But if you look at it from the tracks perspective,
if you form it to what the car looks like,
and it's sticking up tall instead of just putting like
a fucking panel on it. Me, I didn't run trunks.
That's a lot of weight, you know what I mean.
I'd take it right off then put the spoiler right

(20:50):
across the back. Here you go, Well, I.

Speaker 3 (20:52):
Would say, because I made the joke because like, well,
you know me, if I had a car, i'd have
a fucking a tail from a fucking cup or like
a race, you know, from a late model or something
like that. I'd have a front nose. You know, I'd
want my car.

Speaker 2 (21:05):
To kind of look cool. But you didn't win.

Speaker 3 (21:07):
By I mean that it wouldn't. I don't think that
would have made no fucking.

Speaker 2 (21:12):
Didn't make a difference. They were just to the point.
I get they have to withhold their rules, and that's
totally okay, and I'm totally in favor of that, Do
not get me wrong on that. But at the same time, like,
it is what it is at this point, you know
what I mean.

Speaker 3 (21:30):
I mean whatever, we got the trope, we got the picture.

Speaker 2 (21:34):
The trophy, that's what he said he was there for,
So I mean, it is what it is. I mean,
we can go back there without a fucking fin on
the back.

Speaker 3 (21:42):
Do it again, and do it again, and probably and
still hitting eighteen three, because I don't even at an
eighteen three, I don't think it was fast enough for
that really would have made any fucking difference. I don't
think it make.

Speaker 2 (21:54):
I mean, we could look at that thing that we
are looking at all weekend, which is a good fucking tool,
which I'm not gonna gonna say what it is or
anything but secrets. Dog, it's secrets, but it'll help big time.

Speaker 3 (22:08):
That was the coolest ab I've ever seen.

Speaker 2 (22:10):
That's that's the coolest. That that is by far the
coolest thing to where you can set where you want
everything is and then you just go from there and
you just watch to see what it is. So just
to be very fucking vague, but uh no, I get it.
I mean I get I get the tracks point, get
Sammy's point. I mean, so it's just hard to be.

Speaker 3 (22:34):
I paid big money to put show time on the back,
all right, guys, Like it was a sponsor banner.

Speaker 2 (22:38):
It could have been.

Speaker 3 (22:39):
I mean, I mean it had had a sponsor on bullside, well,
had a sponsor on one side and his nickname on
the on the other.

Speaker 2 (22:44):
Side, I would get it. Yeah. Well yeah, so I
mean it is what it is at this time. I mean,
they did come with them, So I get the tracks
point on the ship, but it shouldn't matter either. So
I get Sammy's point on the ship. But but he
was fair. He's like, I'll split thet He's like, he's like,
give me a hundred bucks off of it. Like I
don't give a buck, but uh, just go back, I dude,

(23:08):
I want him to build a s C d R
A car though.

Speaker 6 (23:11):
I want him to.

Speaker 3 (23:12):
That would be doing an sc d R A would
be so fun.

Speaker 2 (23:15):
It would It's a whole different ballgame.

Speaker 3 (23:18):
And we have figured out he has one too, Like
you just gotta put a fucking motor in it.

Speaker 2 (23:23):
Yeah, which isn't that long to do. No, he has it,
he has everything, especially what he has, it's not that
long to fucking do it. Give me three hours and
a six pack and I can get it in there easily,
hook it all up and everything. So hopefully he does that.
So this past weekend, well week should we call it

(23:45):
week for what the coalition?

Speaker 3 (23:50):
Yeah? I think it. When was it officially announced?

Speaker 2 (23:53):
Officially announced November four eighth, So it happened a week
ago if we're going by so five days ago. So
I was trying to figure out what it was and
all that stuff, because I got a thing on the
podcast page was like, it's called the North Carolina Short

(24:18):
Track Coalition. It's pretty much.

Speaker 3 (24:21):
Every track, every asphalt track in North Carolina, but Hickory.
Hickory is the only one that didn't as in it.

Speaker 2 (24:27):
Yeah, it aces in North Carolina.

Speaker 3 (24:31):
Yeah, it's about an hour hour and twenty from here.

Speaker 2 (24:33):
I thought it was in Virginia. No, did I think that?
Wasn't it the new one that they'd just be alt too.
Isn't that brand new?

Speaker 3 (24:42):
That's the one that I did this. I actually had
a video on our page about it last year because
I went and it was the cheapest beer that ever. Yeah,
and I got a coozy for the second yeah.

Speaker 2 (24:52):
Okay, so yeah, it was that place. So I thought,
I don't know why my geographies ship, but I get it.
I give them a tip of the cap trying to
make everybody go on to the same rules. If that's
what they're shooting for.

Speaker 3 (25:05):
I mean, it says about promotion and just helping each
other out.

Speaker 2 (25:10):
So like, I think, what is what these tracks need
to do?

Speaker 3 (25:13):
Well? I mean it is gonna get It is hard though,
because it's nine tracks and do you have a do
you have them?

Speaker 4 (25:19):
All?

Speaker 2 (25:19):
Right? So I pulled it up like.

Speaker 3 (25:23):
ACE and Wake they're Fridays, that's what they run. Okay,
they run Fridays Orange County and the rest of them
run Saturdays. Carterette does Sunday somewhat.

Speaker 2 (25:32):
How far is Ace from Wake?

Speaker 3 (25:34):
Like an hour and twenty.

Speaker 2 (25:36):
Okay, So I think they're all working together to where like,
if they're having big shows, I think going against each other.
If it's weekly racing and you're an hour from each track,
pick wherever you want to go, you know what I mean,
It's good I think I wonder if it's gonna be

(25:57):
like NHSCR where everybody has the same rules.

Speaker 3 (26:00):
I'm kind of hoping, but I don't want to. I
don't want to to bomb.

Speaker 2 (26:03):
And Gray's in it too.

Speaker 3 (26:05):
Now Bowmen Gray NASCAR took over Bowman Gray. After this season,
they kind of did like they took it over, but
it wasn't one hundred percent. But now next year it's all.

Speaker 6 (26:14):
Them, okay, So is he.

Speaker 2 (26:18):
Okay? Well, I saw the like because they had a
meeting already and all that stuff, and they had all
the tracks, and I.

Speaker 3 (26:24):
Just want to know, like I wish we could have
got there was more information.

Speaker 2 (26:28):
Well well not that well not maybe everything's not finalized yet,
so maybe that's why they're withholding this. I mean, you
gotta fucking understand, like nine tracks, they all got to
figure out what they can all do to come together
to do all that stuff. And we saw it before
and the biggest thing that happened up here was just
too many fucking egos were all in the same fucking

(26:50):
room and well, like, but I enjoyed it. I enjoyed
it because before we had this fucking podcast and I
had my spiite, my spat and shit all that before
we made up and all that stuff. My biggest thing
was like I was sitting there running Friday, Saturday, Sunday
and it didn't fucking matter to those fucking people. And

(27:12):
I'm like, well, like I didn't mind it. I loved it,
racing fucking three days out of the week. That's my favorite,
you know what I mean, like every every weekend. But
then it started to get fucking bullshit, and then I
was like, well, fucking.

Speaker 3 (27:25):
I just don't want it to be where it's like,
oh well, even though this is the set of rules,
some tracks let this go, but some tracks don't, you know,
because we had that issue.

Speaker 2 (27:35):
We had an issue up there where fucking it wasn't
in six shooters.

Speaker 3 (27:39):
Where like Claremont you couldn't have the stock bump stocks
that were in the six shooters, But then you go
to like Hudson and you couldn't cut them out, so
it was like get.

Speaker 2 (27:46):
Them and then you could cut them over there. Clairemont
was another one where fucking pier stock showed up to
Hudson with left side weight bolted to it. I'm like,
what the fuck? I was like, Oh, can I do
that too? They're like, oh, no, you can't have that.
I was like, motherfucker, he does and he does too,
and that one does like am I missing information here?

(28:08):
So yeah, they can't have that. They can't have that,
and I mean they're coming together.

Speaker 3 (28:13):
Here's the one thing is New River and Carteret tried
this before a few years ago and it ended up
Carteret and would have like scheduled a big legend race
the same day as New River on purpose. I mean
that's they start like. It didn't work because then they
just started fucking putting races on top of each other

(28:34):
and then they stopped. They kind of worked it a
little bit. I mean it was a it's kind of
a back and forth and then it just kind of
went out like they just stopped, you know, even cross
promoting each other. So hopefully it works out again. I
wanted to work because I think it'd be cool where
you can go to each of these tracks.

Speaker 2 (28:50):
It'll be it'll be big for these tracks because coming
from the Northeast. And this is no disrespect to anybody
down here, and I totally don't want you to take that,
but the promotion for shit down here is.

Speaker 4 (29:05):
Not that.

Speaker 2 (29:05):
No, it's not as it's maybe I'm out of the loop,
but I don't really see a lot of posts about
I'll see one post for that fucking day, like for
the week, and then that's it.

Speaker 3 (29:19):
Yeah, Like some of the bigger races, like they're like, oh,
an entry list for this or this guy's joint is.

Speaker 2 (29:24):
Big because I like that Florence is doing that. That's cool.
They already at fifty three entries, probably has already gone
up by now, had four people show up at the
shop today for their rebuilt jack. So keep keep getting
your rebuilds, keep sending rebuilds. I need shit to fucking do.

Speaker 3 (29:44):
So yeah, so we're gonna hope that works out. I
think it will as long as everyone is on the
same page and they're open to just talk and not
just do you know if that makes sense.

Speaker 2 (29:58):
Well, yeah, that's probably gonna be because they have all
what until what April.

Speaker 3 (30:03):
Some tracks April. Yeah, I mean that's when.

Speaker 2 (30:05):
We're not going to count Bowman because Bowman starts forby.

Speaker 3 (30:07):
All right, Well we don't. We haven't got our full
schedule yet, but yeah we are. We are doing the class.

Speaker 2 (30:11):
They're probably still trying to figure that out with the clash.

Speaker 3 (30:15):
Yeah, so, but I mean, yeah, most of the I
mean some tracks, like I said, like Southern National they
do a race. They do like a week long event
in March for Speedek. They call it speed Week or
speed whatever, speed something. New River usually does a race
around New Years.

Speaker 2 (30:30):
What was that first one?

Speaker 3 (30:31):
It's like speed I think it's either Speedfest or speed
Southern National.

Speaker 2 (30:37):
I think it's like Speedfest or something like that.

Speaker 3 (30:39):
I don't remember. But you know, so some of these
tracks do they do these special events beforehand, but like
the Point Tank doesn't start till like April.

Speaker 2 (30:51):
Well yeah, this, uh so going back to the point
they that's probably what their main goal is. And that's
what they said, is like just trying to work together
and like cross promoting and stuff like that. Because it's
not that it's bad, it's just very very light, you
know what I mean. Like you see the tracks that
we have up North, they're fucking doing it what like

(31:14):
once a day. They're sharing stuff, which is big, like
because I tell you why as a podcast person of
doing like doing the shot tour shit, and I would
announce it one day and then like people like who
are you going to see? And I'm like okay, already
I already told you. But we'll just keep sharing it
every day and that'll make it work. And because not

(31:34):
most people like see it, you know what I mean,
because it gets lost in.

Speaker 3 (31:37):
The sometimes news and shit, Like sometimes I just get
sick of like having to scroll and find like, all right,
what track's actually running this weekend?

Speaker 2 (31:46):
Do you know what I mean?

Speaker 3 (31:46):
Like, what's what seven fucking tracks are running this weekend?
Like where, yeah, where's the big show, where's the you know,
all all that stuff.

Speaker 2 (31:53):
What's the closest, what makes more sense to go to?
And stuff like that. So I I don't mean it
as a just effectful thing. And I know they're trying
to ship like that, but like more promotion will never
be bad, you know what I mean. No one's gonna go,
No one's gonna I mean, if you do complain that
fucking tracks are trying to fill seats and stuff like that,
or trying to remind people what's going on for that weekend,

(32:15):
if even if it's especially if it's like a fucking
big show and stuff like that. So yeah, it's called
speed week. Speed Week.

Speaker 3 (32:21):
So well, like this year, I.

Speaker 2 (32:24):
Think I think it's a good thing. I think it
is and hopefully we can get Charlie or one of
them on the fucking thing and they can give us more.

Speaker 3 (32:32):
So like early this year when I did speed Week,
it was March first, second, third, fourth, well, third and
fourth were off day. It was just track rentals. Then
it was like the fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth, it
was just straight Yeah, they were running car store, PLM chargers, bandos,
any car late just they're like opeless late model stocks.
The fifth, but yeah, you just legends or late models

(32:55):
and legends and Bandaleiro is basically raced the whole the
whole time. And then yeah, and they that's cool, you know.
But then yeah, the normal points, Yeah, it's about April
is when most of the normal points whenever NASCAR does
their whenever they start the National points is when most
of these tracks start. And when the National points are over,

(33:16):
that's when they they stop.

Speaker 2 (33:18):
I think. And to the point of like where they're
racing the same days and stuff like that, but if
they're like an hour away, what they should do is
what NHS t r A should have done, was like
start rewarding people for that are bouncing around or something
like that, have like a point fund for or.

Speaker 3 (33:39):
Like or like they might do that though you know
nine tracks, they might do it. They might do a
coalition championship or that be cool.

Speaker 2 (33:46):
Well not not like well yeah, but like throughout the year.
But I get it, like for a racer to go
and jump I mean for fucking three tracks that I
was running that that is easily like a four hour
round trip every weekend, which I didn't care because I
was racing, you know what I mean, I didn't give
a shit. But it'd be cool if like they were

(34:06):
watching they were doing that for the guys that were
doing that stuff, like uh, Chris Rando, he did that
this year, like he went fucking everywhere.

Speaker 3 (34:15):
He was down here a few times too.

Speaker 2 (34:17):
Yeah, he was down here running getting suspended and you
actually get suspended suspended probation. But you get my point. So,
but like like just to see the recognition for that stuff,
which someplaces, some people did, like race Day they called

(34:37):
it out and stuff like that. And I usually shout
him out for coming all the way down here or
going out to New York or whatever. He shows up next.

Speaker 3 (34:46):
I hope somebody'll come to the bass.

Speaker 2 (34:48):
I'm not gonna lie, he's coming to the back. Well,
he always goes to the bat Ah, Shane Jendron's coming,
Josha Rard's going.

Speaker 3 (34:57):
I'm gonna assume Clements is going because he goes every year,
has some type of issue whatever time he goes.

Speaker 2 (35:02):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (35:04):
I'm gonna assume he is because he's he was selling
this car.

Speaker 2 (35:09):
Same with Fanning. I don't know if Fanning's coming or
if he's staying home, but he's probably coming. Fanning's probably going.

Speaker 3 (35:16):
I mean, I just think it'd be cool. How you
guys come down, you guys get the still race. It's
kind of cold, but there's no snow, so it's it's
all right.

Speaker 2 (35:23):
Yeah, it's a little it's a trade. Watson's coming down
to probably most likely, but Shane Gender and that's a
new name, stuff like that, So what we should have
a good But going back to the point is like
if they have like something like that, like a points fund,
like for each division, like which which three divisions do

(35:44):
they have that all run at all different tracks other
than fucking Bowman, because Bowman's totally different.

Speaker 3 (35:49):
Well, so like the hard thing, well, Bowman different rules. Well,
the the mini stocks really aren't because A J. Sanders
goes arounds Waite County, so sometimes he run and there's
a few other I don't remember names, like all the
one hundred percent, but they they do run other tracks
and show.

Speaker 2 (36:04):
Well I'm not talking about names, I'm talking about divisions.

Speaker 3 (36:07):
Oh yeah, yeah, I mean yeah, the the Sportsmen, which
is their late models is they didn't run different chassis,
but they're and then they have a street stock division,
which is basically.

Speaker 2 (36:18):
Just another form of fucking late models.

Speaker 3 (36:20):
Yeah yeah, but like but at Wake County, Bombers and
any car is like a Division three because they don't
have a lot of divisions. They do late models and
then they have eight charger races, then they do Bandaleiro's
Legends under the in Nex stuff, and then it's any
car and mini stocks and sometimes they'll have like champ
carts and then it's tours. So they don't have a

(36:42):
lot of like local weekly divisions. So like any car
drivers that we're running at Wake, we're getting like division three.
We're in Division three points, where like most other places
where any car is like Division five, you know what
I mean. So it's like that's gonna have to be
changed as well, I think, because it's just different yeah,

(37:03):
well if they with this coalition, they might bring other
divisions from these other tracks over. Yeah, so well I
just have to find out.

Speaker 2 (37:10):
Oh yeah. But going back to my point is like
that that opens it up for the racers because I
was a racer that I didn't like racing at one
fucking track. I fucking hated it. I absolutely got sick
of fucking until I was banned, and then I was like, a,
I will go fucking play at Star because the people
at the Star, like if if they ran you like shit,

(37:31):
you run them like shit. You guys fucking hang out.
It's about it. I mean Claremont every time I'd show
up and start in the back, even if I won
my fucking heat race. Same with an That, same with
but never mind that fact. Like I was running everywhere,
but I hated fucking running one track. I hated it.

(37:54):
I hated it because it's way more enjoyable to go
somewhere and just try to learn something, Like I learned
a new track, you know what I mean. Like I
would go I would go up to the Lafont Race
and do do the races up at Claremont and absolutely
Butcher turned one and two and shit like that. But
then Saturday, go over to Manadnock, absolutely hate my life

(38:14):
into three Uh leave there, go to Hudson, have a
decent fucking day at least, you know what I mean,
and then just flip flop from there.

Speaker 3 (38:22):
And I mean I did that. First time I race
Starr in the street stock I looked like a fucking moron, Yes,
But then I went back a couple of years ago
last year would and ran Dad's car in Approvi eight
and it kind of seemed like I got raced there
for a little bit. I kind of figured it out.

Speaker 2 (38:37):
You saying that, Like, so it was four tracks because
I would go like on days that I didn't want
to go to Banannoc or when I got banned from
Vanandannock because I got sick of fucking getting drove through,
I went over to Star I was like, fuck it,
we'll go over there. So it was four but you
get my But you get my point. The nine the
nine track Alliance thing. It would be good for racers

(38:57):
to be able to branch out and go run somewhere and.

Speaker 3 (39:00):
Not worry about maybe not worry about their local points
all the time. If they have a if they have
a nine track point fund. These guys can kind of
venture off, like I.

Speaker 2 (39:08):
Know, but NASCAR's NASCAR though, right No, maybe.

Speaker 3 (39:12):
Oh no, you can run wherever. Yeah, because you can
run wherever.

Speaker 2 (39:15):
Fucking Division one. You're run against dirt late model guys
that fucking been running since James.

Speaker 3 (39:20):
When you're running against guys that like go to one
track Friday and then another track Saturday.

Speaker 2 (39:24):
Because that's when the points start, is when NASCAR starts, right, No,
I don't think.

Speaker 3 (39:28):
I think local points start in April. That's why mostly
sharks starting at I'm no, I'm talking like the NASCAR
regional I think I think they start in April, in April, yeah,
and then they ended I know they end in like September. Yeah,
like April to September. There is NASCAR points.

Speaker 2 (39:44):
So but you get my point, like there's they're running
multiple I think it's a good thing. I think it
would be a cool thing to see.

Speaker 3 (39:51):
I'm it's gonna be. I think it's a good thing,
But I just don't want it to be what happened
up North where it became a ship chat and that.

Speaker 2 (39:58):
Was the biggest thing, and when we shared it, a
lot of people said that. But I'm I gave I
gave NHS you are there chance to see what it
was like and all that stuff and go from there
before we even had this fucking podcast. Shit, So this
is way before we had this. So I gave them
their day on that ship. And then, like you said,

(40:21):
it was just I won't say it was it was
bad because it was good for the racers, but then
it just got bad because they couldn't go and sit
in the fucking same room and just talk about At
some point they kept it as it's my way or
the highway type stuff. That shit was dog shit like.
That stuff was like, at the end of the day,

(40:42):
your number one feeder into your pockets is a racer,
so whether you want to fucking other than that, it's
sponsorship for the track and stuff like that. And but
the number one feeder into tracks pockets are racers, and
that's that's about it. Other than that, it's sponsors. And

(41:04):
if you ain't got fucking cars showing up, you ain't
gonna get sponsors for the next year.

Speaker 3 (41:08):
And that also is the people got the people in
the stands.

Speaker 2 (41:11):
Well that too, But that's like the third most thing
that you gotta worry about. I mean, yeah, you want
good crowd counts too, Yes, totally get it. But if
if if you if you lose twenty fans, So put
it like this, if you lose twenty people that are
fans at what we got a ticket?

Speaker 3 (41:33):
I think it was twenty five this weekend. No, No,
I'm just saying, like to give us a number. Yeah,
around twenty usually usually it's around twenty, twenty twenty five,
depending on track, like Wake County's fifteen, Bowman Gray's twelve,
and then some tracks are twenty. When big shows come,
it's expensive sometimes.

Speaker 2 (41:50):
Oh yeah, because they're paying the purse.

Speaker 3 (41:52):
Yeah, Like when everybody has cars, towar is usually thirty
thirty five. I know when they did Wilkesboro with the
double of smart door in cars, it was forty five.

Speaker 2 (42:02):
That pissed a lot of people.

Speaker 3 (42:03):
Forty five fifty. It was Fuck, it's more expensive to
go to that than it was to go to the wheeliners.
They're really nice. Think the general tickets like thirty five bucks.

Speaker 2 (42:10):
If that well, which I get, but you got good
racing out of it. But going back to the point
is like if you lose twenty of those at twenty,
so what for four hundred bucks? Yeah, okay, that's one
set of tiz that's like set of tires. So if
you which I get like, I'm not I want to
see fans in the thing. But like, call a spade

(42:34):
a fucking spade. The people that feed your pockets are racers,
and then the other people that feed your pockets are sponsors.
But if you don't have racers and you don't have sponsors,
because you know what I mean. So it's just like
that's my big thing. Listen, listen to the drivers, and

(42:54):
it's gonna be a fucking shit show. Don't make it
a fucking don't make it up. We want to know
what you want to know you you want to change,
because then you'll have twenty seven different fucking Like I
used to go to rules meetings and just raise my
hand for yes and no, just fuck with them, you
know what I mean. So it's not really but if

(43:14):
you go to racers and be like, hey, we're gonna
try this out, see how it works, and then if
it doesn't work and you got ten fucking racers saying
fuck that, then let's stop doing that. But my big thing,
like and this is a now like a counterpart to
going from the south to the North. I wish the

(43:35):
North would adapt the scuff tires or the takeoffs for
like the lower divisions, like lower divisions. Dude, like one
hundred and eighty dollars for six tires. I would do that.
You would get so many people that would go and you, well,
who knows what it is. I don't know. I didn't

(43:56):
count how many twenties I'll be pulled out when we
were at well, you're at Hickory. But it's like one
of those things what I mean.

Speaker 3 (44:02):
Like, yeah, having the scuff tires for the lower divisions
like street stocks, if I mean some of their tracks
have like no, actually no, not up North. They don't
have late models and chargers and seven different versions of
it of a late model. Yeah, but they don't have
seven different versions of a late model like we have.
Like yeah, yeah, but like when you go to Southern

(44:24):
National when they're running, they got chargers, they got limited.
You know, there's a bunch of different division you know
what I mean, diversions of there's limited, there's pro late models,
super late, super late model, late model stock car store
late model, which is late model stock where the rules
are a little different. Chargers, challengers at some tracks. So

(44:46):
like there's a lot of different fucking versions. There really is,
and you know that that that's fucking but like some
of the Southern National is just looking at it for
their chargers, which is the lower late lower version of
late model one of the or like not a late
model stock but it's kind of shocks and carburetor and
maybe a couple of other things. But what they're doing too,

(45:09):
so their race Yeah, they're race tires, fuck you, they're
they're race tires. Too new, too new, too scuff impounded
after the race and then you get too new and
two scuff Saturday and the stuffs are from Friday. That's
not bad, Like that's a decent way to do it,
because it makes a little cheaper.

Speaker 2 (45:28):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (45:29):
I think Wake County did that too, is they did
it every week for their late models. Was too new
to scuff and just to make it cheaper.

Speaker 2 (45:36):
Well, well that and then we had the fucking whole
thing of shortage. So but to that point, yeah, it's
probably to make it cheaper for everything, but you're still
getting a full set, you know what I mean, at
the end of the day, you're still paying for a
full set. But yeah, no, just having too too too

(45:58):
new too scuff is like, I don't know, you just
gotta The biggest thing is like that's what all push is,
just like listening to IF. But it has to be
a vast majority kind of thing. I mean, do what
you're doing. It's the coalition. Will it'll work if you
guys all work together, like we know it from experience

(46:19):
up north.

Speaker 3 (46:20):
So if you work together, it'll work out amazing. But
if you start, if you guys falling away.

Speaker 2 (46:24):
From that, everybody's gonna feel that shit everyone.

Speaker 3 (46:28):
So and then if you start just kind of ignoring
that and doing it your own way like you've been
doing before it, you know, that's another way you could
kind of message.

Speaker 2 (46:35):
So well, hopefully more more stuff like comes out about
it and like we're just speculating, but we saw it
firsthand and stuff like that, you know what I mean.
So yeah, so yeah no, but yeah, So this weekend
it is Florence.

Speaker 3 (46:49):
Bud the bud Car, the butd Car's back.

Speaker 2 (46:52):
Baby still should be a felony to ask fifty dollars
for a fuck the one.

Speaker 3 (46:57):
So there are cheaper ones, but they're not the cool
one that we liked, the ill that we likes fifty bucks.
I was like, God, sham it.

Speaker 2 (47:02):
Of course we have to have expensive taste and still
should be a fucking felony for fifty dollars for a
late model fucking shirt. That's fucking hurriz, even if I
don't care who it is, you know what I mean.

Speaker 3 (47:14):
Like, So, yeah, when they did it, it was the
first meeting, so they just they just started it.

Speaker 2 (47:19):
Yeah, they just they just started it in November fourteenth.

Speaker 3 (47:21):
They just their next meeting is in December.

Speaker 2 (47:24):
Yeah, when everything happens and stuff like that, you.

Speaker 3 (47:28):
Know, yeah, when I get a little bit of time
to do everything. Because but this week's you know, the
SC four hundred. Then you got Thanksgiving Classic for three
days at Southern National, with Caraway also running their version
of Thanksgiving Classic on Sunday, which they call it the Original.
I don't know. I don't know much about the history

(47:48):
of it. But yeah, but they also they are running
like a New Year, like a Winter Racing Series two.

Speaker 2 (47:55):
So yeah, there's a lot of racing.

Speaker 3 (47:57):
It's about what happened, so it's gonna be cool year
round racing. Baby. I love it.

Speaker 2 (48:03):
Yeah, So I'm I'm for it. I mean, I give
it the hope that it needs to be because at
the end of the day, race is stagnant right now.
It's not growing, it's not going away, but it's it's stable.
And like some people are like, well, tracks are closing down,
I'm like, well, fucking I don't know what to tell
you for that.

Speaker 3 (48:22):
Well, I mean some people you hand them, you give
them a fucking money, is a lot of fucking money.
They'll look at that and go mmm, like it's not
a bad fucking deal, you know what I mean. That's
some of these guys. They got to think from for
themselves at some point where you know, if the tracks
struggling and they're.

Speaker 2 (48:39):
Beach rich guy, then fuck you dude, fuck that guy. Yeah,
fucking piece of shit. But I get it. No, I
totally understand, Like, trust me, I understand. But race and
stagnant right now. I still think it is because we
just had a fucking we have a premiere Late Model

(49:01):
Stock Tour. We have a CT which is another premiere
late Model tour Street stocks with Boo. It's starting to
grow and stuff like that.

Speaker 1 (49:12):
We have.

Speaker 2 (49:16):
We have a bunch of stuff that's like starting to
come up. Smart Tour when they get their ship together finally,
but that's still big. I mean you got Bobby Labonnie,
you got all these guys, got the Baldwin.

Speaker 3 (49:28):
Yeah yeah, looke, Well the Baldwin's got Newman Colter who
used to run trucks. Boone is running trucks before. You know,
a lot of good name.

Speaker 2 (49:37):
Yeah, just ran tality. So like yeah, Jonathan Meyers out
there with flip flops.

Speaker 3 (49:42):
You got a lot of good names in in that series.
So yeah, but like it's still a good to me.
It's still a I would say decorated, decorated, but it's
a known you know, it's a good.

Speaker 2 (49:53):
It is decorated with talent. Yeah. I mean, like I said,
I don't know how long they been doing it. How
long have they been doing it? I'm asking you, Oh
I don't.

Speaker 3 (50:05):
I don't know how long the Smart Towards been but
they did like like this new version of it. Oh yeah,
I don't know about the new version because I was
I say, it used to be it was an older
series and they d had the wheel in Southern Modified Tour,
and then when that broke off, this kind of came
to fruition. Is pretty much That's how I've I've thought
about it.

Speaker 2 (50:24):
Anyways, you get my point, Like Wikipedia, where you at,
I'll just ask a racer you can do that too.
Happy birthday Jason Myers.

Speaker 3 (50:36):
Yeah, birthday to the legend Jason Myers, the working Man
as a Bob Dylan there calls him.

Speaker 2 (50:47):
Why is that so he uh, he just.

Speaker 3 (50:50):
Celebrated his birthday for the offseason, getting ready for next year.
So it began in eighty nine. The NASCAR took the
series over in two thousand and five to run it
as the Southern Tour, and then when the Southern Tour
merged back to just Wheeling Modified Tour twenty twenty.

Speaker 2 (51:16):
Yeah, so four years ago is when they went to
Smart Yeah so yeah, so it's still brand new. They
still have to get everything. I give people their fucking time.
But some ship, let's cast line tapping over there.

Speaker 3 (51:35):
No, I'm hitting this fucking stupid thing with my hand. Oh,
stupid table with a fucking handle.

Speaker 2 (51:41):
I didn't think it was over sheets right now.

Speaker 3 (51:44):
Yeah, man, gonna need a snack wrap for get some
cold cuts, get some cold cuts, get some cold cuts.

Speaker 6 (51:57):
Oh shit.

Speaker 2 (51:59):
Uh but yeah, no, I'm I'm in favor of it
and stuff like that. But like going back to my point,
Florence is this weekend the SC four hundred.

Speaker 1 (52:08):
Is that right?

Speaker 2 (52:09):
Did I say it?

Speaker 3 (52:10):
Right?

Speaker 2 (52:10):
There?

Speaker 4 (52:10):
You go?

Speaker 2 (52:11):
Thank God? Now I can go get a South Carolina
tattoo on my face.

Speaker 3 (52:16):
That'd be kind of cool.

Speaker 2 (52:17):
Yeah, I know. But we have that this weekend which
is gonna be filled with drivers all over you know
what I mean.

Speaker 1 (52:27):
You have.

Speaker 2 (52:29):
Obviously have Dale Junior coming down, but you have a
bunch of people coming all come from all over honestly
to race. So that'd be cool.

Speaker 3 (52:39):
And they got they've gotten some good sponsors for the
race too, Like yesterday, Coca Cola came on board as
an official sponsor.

Speaker 2 (52:49):
That's big.

Speaker 3 (52:51):
Citrus Safe was the official Victor Lane sponsor. I'm pretty
proud they follow us shout out hell yeah, and they
do they sponsor the restart cone.

Speaker 2 (53:01):
Well, yeah, I know, I know who they sponsored. I
was just saying that they all shout out yeah, trying.

Speaker 3 (53:07):
To see if I can find like the full entry.

Speaker 2 (53:08):
Well, while you find that, we'll run some ads and
we'll be right back.

Speaker 5 (53:15):
Hey, guys, just wanted to drop in and let you
guys know about a couple sponsors that help us out
on the podcast, Benny's Body Shop and automotive repair located
in Deep Carmel, Maine, written by a good friend James Goodman.
He does everything for racecars to your running boards that
are that are falling off, cab corners that hold a
family of seven mice and everything else in between. And
with him installing the lift earlier this year, he has
you covered on anything automotive repair wise as well. Make

(53:38):
sure you guys give him a call at two zero
seven seven four five three zero four zero. Another big
supporter of the rough Infender's podcast is Robinson Portable sam Blasting.
They will take your rust, paint, powder cooat off from
projects you have in the yard to race cars chassis
so you look great on race deck.

Speaker 2 (53:52):
Big or small, they will do them all.

Speaker 5 (53:53):
Give them a call at two zero seven three one
four two six three four and tell him we send
you what you.

Speaker 2 (54:00):
Yelling about over there?

Speaker 3 (54:02):
No, I just said, Tristan mcke's running it hell yeah,
but yeah, there's there's a lot of names.

Speaker 2 (54:07):
So who are some big ones?

Speaker 3 (54:08):
Some big ones we got we obviously we have Junior
running a bud car. Josh Barry will be there running.
I don't remember which car is running, but I know
he's running.

Speaker 2 (54:16):
I think he's running. Kevin Harvick's one number is he.

Speaker 3 (54:21):
Doesn't say actually sorry, seventeen. Else we got Kaden, I
don't remember.

Speaker 2 (54:30):
Honey cut, honey cuts. Hold anyway, keep going.

Speaker 3 (54:35):
Then we have Riley.

Speaker 2 (54:37):
He said music.

Speaker 3 (54:38):
I thought it was music this whole time. Music music,
not music, not music.

Speaker 2 (54:43):
Music. I don't think it's music. I think it's music.

Speaker 3 (54:45):
All right, Well, we got a but he would be there,
Brent Cruz, a lot of these, a lot of cars
tour guys, Connor Jones who just won at New river
landon Huffman, Mister Corporate, Trayton Lapsovich could be there. Sam Yarborough,
he runs a lot down South Easter on the cars tour.
He had Matt Cox who also used to run the

(55:05):
car stour, runs a lot at Florence and other tracks
in South Carolina. Brendan Brendan McQueen's gonna be there. Ronnie
Bassett Junior. So yeah, there's and then there's there's just
a lot of cars going.

Speaker 2 (55:17):
In general.

Speaker 3 (55:17):
There's fifty six of them right now.

Speaker 2 (55:19):
Which is so now it's up three more fifty six. Yeah,
this morning was fifty three, so now we're up to
fifty six. So how are they doing? Break it down?
Because I know it's gonna be on flow, right, Yeah,
So the SC four hundred, if you guys are uh listening,
we'll be on flow this weekend, so make sure you

(55:40):
guys tune in for that. So how are they doing qualifying?

Speaker 3 (55:48):
So since they have over the twenty cars they said,
I think is what they wanted. They're doing the top
twenty and qualifying go to get automatically locked in and
then everyone else has to go through heat races. So
that's and then they think they're taking twenty. Yeah, top twenty.

Speaker 2 (56:13):
Here we are. I wish they'd do the top ten
of heat races. I'm for it. Bring fucking heat races South.
Anybody can put down a fat lap, you know what
I mean?

Speaker 3 (56:30):
Well, yeah, the point get on that pole.

Speaker 2 (56:34):
Now I'd rather see. I'd rather see.

Speaker 3 (56:37):
Yeah. Late Model says if more than forty two cars
talk twenty, lock into feature, rest in two heats, and
the first heat race takes their both heat races, take
the top six.

Speaker 2 (56:50):
Top ten, everybody else run heats, top five, everybody runs heats.
That would be crazy, that'd be fucking dope as shit.

Speaker 3 (56:58):
And they're twenty one car five spots six. Well right
now at six, but if you do the time a
little bit trying to Okay, So if they're taking thirty two,
they're taking thirty two cars.

Speaker 2 (57:12):
Out of fifty six. Yeah, top five, everybody else run heats.

Speaker 3 (57:16):
Fuck you for twenty five laps?

Speaker 2 (57:17):
Hell yeah, fuck yeah.

Speaker 7 (57:19):
Twenty heats and then what well, okay, so what would
we do? So how would we do because this is
what the Milk Bowl does.

Speaker 2 (57:31):
If you qualify in the top two, you still have
to run a heat race, but you can pull off
halfway through. How would you do that for this? But
fuck damn it, that wouldn't work because heat race is
that thunder Road is fifty So lap twenty five you
can pull off. So thirteen and as so what well

(57:54):
not thirteen and a half? Please don't pull off, don't
constant caution on last thirty, don't try to like okay,
So like lap thirteen they pull off, I would.

Speaker 3 (58:03):
Do that, Yeah, I mean the top I'm gonna have
be such a fucking thing to watch heat race. You
know they don't have because I don't think they have, like, oh,
another set of tires for the you know, the guys
around the heat race are gonna already be behind the
guys in the top twenty unless they are running heaters.
But it says they're lock in, so I don't know,
doesn't say if they're running. I don't think so though.

(58:26):
I think they're gonna run these heat races, kind of
like BEV five.

Speaker 2 (58:29):
Everybody else run heats.

Speaker 3 (58:31):
Should I would live like Martinsville top two.

Speaker 2 (58:34):
Fuck that to everyone else, Thunderbroll, Thunderbowl, thunder Road, Fucking
top two locks in and then the rest is heats.

Speaker 3 (58:43):
Or something that would be cool.

Speaker 2 (58:45):
But yeah, now I'm trying to fucking figure it out,
and now I'm gonna get coached on the coach on
Texan this weekend. But I think I I think for
big races like this, everybody should because you're fucking everybody else.
So well, twenty, top twenty gets in and then the
other here's the thing, and then the other thirty six

(59:06):
got a fight. It's a life.

Speaker 3 (59:07):
It's a two hundred and fifty lap race. So the
halfway break go on twenty five ten minute break.

Speaker 2 (59:11):
So I don't are they allowed to switch tires?

Speaker 3 (59:13):
Well, I mean, I don't have the rules up, but
I'm gonna assume how many tire race? Is it two
hundred and fifty laps?

Speaker 2 (59:20):
Total?

Speaker 3 (59:20):
One hundred and twenty five?

Speaker 2 (59:21):
Holy fuck? How many?

Speaker 3 (59:23):
That's what I just I'm trying to figure that.

Speaker 2 (59:24):
I just told I just asked how many tires.

Speaker 3 (59:27):
I'm trying to look that up.

Speaker 2 (59:29):
You just told me the fucking laps.

Speaker 3 (59:31):
Yeah, I have to go to a different page so
I can read it. It doesn't say anything on it
how many. It doesn't say it on the on.

Speaker 2 (59:38):
That race day, itinerary how many tires? Is his race?
It's two hundred and fifty laps. It's fucking awesome, but
that is not what I have. I have to give
you ship. What the fuck? I think? Well, I know
I'm trying to turn five, top five. Everybody else runs
heats and then the top five they can they have

(01:00:00):
that will? Yeah, they have to run like fucking twelve laps,
just eaving it up. I mean, you know who's gonna
be up there, so doing the top twenty and then Nope.
I don't like it.

Speaker 3 (01:00:18):
It is a good race though.

Speaker 2 (01:00:19):
It's a good race, but I don't you can't make
a pool for it. You can't fucking gamble and the
fucking thing because you got the top twenty that's locked in.
They don't have to put time on their tires. Does
that make sense? Yeah, I mean, I guess it was
just fucking the rest of the field.

Speaker 3 (01:00:37):
But if they're allowed to change, if they're allowed to
change tires after one twenty five, as long as you survived,
you can bolt on that new set and fucking hammer down.

Speaker 2 (01:00:45):
So I hope it's that. Oh I doubt at least
maybe two higher race.

Speaker 3 (01:00:50):
Maybe two one or two. I can't find shit on
my website about it.

Speaker 2 (01:00:56):
If anybody knows the answer, let us know. This is
what I mean.

Speaker 3 (01:01:01):
Yeah, like they're like it only just says like what
the payout is and what they're doing for laps, and
she doesn't say anything on their ship about tires.

Speaker 2 (01:01:09):
I guess I'll go, Well, I can't because we're not
doing pit passes. It's never mind I said I'll go.
I was gonna say, I'll go sit at the driver's
meet and see how they're doing it, because I'll ask
that question. But I'm not racing. But I'm just wondering
how many tires is this and all that stuff because
I haven't seen anything about it.

Speaker 3 (01:01:25):
Yeah, I don't see I don't see anything about tire.

Speaker 2 (01:01:31):
Force. A four tire RAYS twenty gets locked in, can't
change tires.

Speaker 3 (01:01:37):
That's why I think it would be it would be
at least a swap, at least two. But with the
way Florence is, it might be it might be a
four fucking tire swap. It just doesn't really tell me
shit on this.

Speaker 2 (01:01:51):
Something will let us know? Please?

Speaker 3 (01:01:54):
Something well, because like this isn't very helpful and I
look like idiot, Well.

Speaker 2 (01:02:05):
You don't look like an idiot. I couldn't find it.
Maybe it's on flow, Yeah, it is on flow. Oh,
here we go. Maybe you can look on flow.

Speaker 3 (01:02:19):
Are you gonna tell me ship?

Speaker 2 (01:02:20):
It ain't might No. He goes to the floor, goes
to the flow app. They tell me ship. They share
news on the Facebook page to pal James is learning
how to be a part of media.

Speaker 3 (01:02:36):
Oh, Ship, go right to the source, right to the app.

Speaker 2 (01:02:41):
He goes to the app. Let's see, I'll do it.
Ryan Priest went to r f K today. It was
wasn't that already a thing?

Speaker 3 (01:02:55):
So it was like the worst kept secret because they
well they do the well. A couple weeks ago they
did a press, they did a wet tire test and
they had they The guy, one of the RFK guys
literally said it on an interview, was like, yeah, Preachts
driving one of the other cars, and I was like,
all right, there you go.

Speaker 2 (01:03:12):
Did you watch any of the ice slip?

Speaker 3 (01:03:15):
Uh No, because we were up the track?

Speaker 2 (01:03:17):
Was that the same day?

Speaker 4 (01:03:18):
Ye?

Speaker 3 (01:03:19):
All I know is Hershman was leading it halfway and
then that guy in his second tourmad uh Start ended
up winning it. So good for him. He beat big
money Matt.

Speaker 6 (01:03:32):
He's a local, right, I'm not going to assume, Yeah,
who was it that?

Speaker 2 (01:03:43):
Who did that?

Speaker 1 (01:03:45):
I fuck.

Speaker 3 (01:03:50):
Another thing that school uh j g R lifted there.
You can't race anywhere else uh clausing there for their drivers.
Brisco and Bell couldn't go to like the Chili Bowl
and I do all that stuff because they used to
have a thing where you couldn't do that. Couldn't really
race any other stuff because the same reason Chase Eli
got hurt snowboard and they're like when Bowman broke his

(01:04:12):
back in a sprint car race last year. It's kind
of the same thing because they don't want them to
get hurt and not be able to drive their main car.
That's their job, but JGR lifted their restrictions on it.
Well that's what happens, and it's fucking racing.

Speaker 2 (01:04:28):
Yeah, I mean shit happens.

Speaker 3 (01:04:31):
Yeah, but I still can't find shit.

Speaker 2 (01:04:32):
So anyway, we'll try to figure that out. But I
think it's top five and then everybody else front heats
would be nice and then make the fucking top five
run fucking twelve fucking hot laps and call it good.

Speaker 3 (01:04:45):
Do like a dash or something, you know, like dirt
cars do, or they do like the top six dash
and they run for six laps winter it gets like
extra money ball. Yeah, Like that's how they.

Speaker 2 (01:04:53):
Could be fucking cool. See that's a good fucking idea,
Like how they do with the Chili Bowl.

Speaker 3 (01:04:57):
Well, most sprint car race is like that to or
like well like that too, Like they a lot a
lot of dirt. It's a dirt thing, dirt thing.

Speaker 2 (01:05:10):
Yeah, No, I think that would be cool. They isn't
it like one one lap drags?

Speaker 3 (01:05:17):
No, they do like like on well on dirt, it's
usually like six laps, like a six lap dash.

Speaker 2 (01:05:24):
Oh they do, okay, yeah they do that, but didn't
they like set Paul one year where it was like,
weren't they like doing like pretty much like drag racing.

Speaker 3 (01:05:33):
Dude, I've seen I've seen things like tours and like
big events do a fucking dash where it's the driver's
foot racing down the front stretch to get their position.

Speaker 2 (01:05:44):
That's true, that would be cool. Nah, probably not just
the front stretch like a two lap shootout. Well, no,
I'm talking like they would run on foot top five
lined up.

Speaker 3 (01:05:52):
Okay, No, I've seen them like on dirt track they
ran on foot from turn four to turn one and
that's how they started.

Speaker 2 (01:05:58):
That's how they got them.

Speaker 3 (01:05:59):
Bull.

Speaker 2 (01:06:00):
I might as well make it fun, I guess.

Speaker 3 (01:06:02):
I mean good for the fans too. You know, watch
these guys slipping and sliding and race the shoes, try
to run across the track. Yeah, you trip me, I'm
gonna dump you later.

Speaker 2 (01:06:15):
But yeah no, we'll be at Florence. We'll see how
that all turns out. We'll definitely update you guys on that.
I think that's gonna be a big event. As a
lot of people going, the number will grow as the
day goes. I mean, it's only fucking Tuesday.

Speaker 3 (01:06:26):
We're gonna have to get there early because Junior is
there and whenever Junior's hat a fucking race that ship.

Speaker 2 (01:06:30):
Packs get there, we get were early, the first comes
the worse. I'll just fucking flash my band.

Speaker 3 (01:06:40):
Perfect you know what I mean? Yeah, you know who
I am?

Speaker 2 (01:06:47):
Not that but yeah, so yeah, no, we'll be at Florence,
so I don't have much more. Man, That was really
it much.

Speaker 3 (01:06:56):
It was really it honestly because we didn't really we
couldn't really fall anything else.

Speaker 2 (01:07:01):
We'll have a lot for Florence and stuff like that.
I gotta get those fucking road mics back, dude, Yeah,
because then we can be at the track fucking doing
this ship.

Speaker 3 (01:07:08):
So ask the pressing questions while they're still in the
car that's destroyed while their crew fixes it.

Speaker 6 (01:07:15):
How do you feel?

Speaker 2 (01:07:17):
Yeah, tell us I'd probably send James to do that.

Speaker 3 (01:07:20):
Like you did with the d Q cone at the Enduro. Yeah,
what you get dcubed for? He go?

Speaker 2 (01:07:26):
Who got dqed? Got de cute? Oh ship? But shout
out to our sponsors to help us out, and uh,
obviously all you guys that do listen and support us
and stuff like that. We're trying to come back fucking
bad time to start doing it all. But no because again,

(01:07:47):
our we still have speed weeks coming up.

Speaker 3 (01:07:49):
It's a big show season, baby down here. It's big
show season.

Speaker 2 (01:07:53):
So we'll be well be we gotta get we gotta
get that fucking we gotta get those mics back down here.
So I'll be on the hunt for those this fucking
these next couple of weeks, because because I have equipment
to where we can just do it right at the
fucking track. That would be nice. I'll bring this whole
fucking thing. We'll go find someone's camper. That's what I

(01:08:13):

Are You A Charlotte?

Are You A Charlotte?

In 1997, actress Kristin Davis’ life was forever changed when she took on the role of Charlotte York in Sex and the City. As we watched Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte navigate relationships in NYC, the show helped push once unacceptable conversation topics out of the shadows and altered the narrative around women and sex. We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today. "Are you a Charlotte?" is much more than just rewatching this beloved show, it brings the past and the present together as we talk with heart, humor and of course some optimism.
