How are we doing? Everybody?Welcome to Season three, Episode one,
presented by Helger, South Coast PowerEquipment, Thomas Welding, Gender Motorsports,
Robinson's Race Parts and Fab Hayes Signsand Designs, and Brandon's Meat Shop.
He beats it, you eat it. We had New Hampshire Motor Speedway,

(00:22):
Northeast Classic practice days at manat Knockand other various tracks and as well as
the smart tour of the one hundredand seventy five Pace Lap ninety nine Green
Flag Lap race at Hickory. Sosit back, listen to the episode Welcome
to the twenty twenty four season forUS or from US, because yeah,

(00:47):
this is our first episode of thisyear. So thank you guys for listening,
and we'll see you guys out there. I don't know everybody. Everybody
have we earn everybody year of theUS and finished Takfast Soft Time, where
we talked anything and everything about racingfrom north to South, that various shops
we go on as an unedited andno bullshit anyone to just go back to

(01:10):
the pit. Well he fucked up. Kiss my day. Were talking about
rules. I don't know we gotall these rules cudes that we see on
the track. I've been waiting forthis hut he even run you're running home
for like five years. Way insideof me's blaming me watching that day range
jacket, orange jacket. I raisedit just like you, Joe David's us.

(01:32):
I need it for the wind. You can talk to various drivers in
their shop where they cut their teeth, blood their blood and then make their
name and the sport that we loveof short track racing on a tree and
so get back, relax and graba road soda and ventory the various drivers
that we go and meet, andnow on with the show that's always says
every time, Oh, you know, we should do this, we should

(01:53):
do that. You're scared, you'rescared. How we doing? Everybody?
My name is Brandy Phillips here ofthe Rough of Fenders podcast and long inside
me is TPM James Seagroves the CorseyWelcome to season three, episode one.
We usually start the program over whenthe first race of the year pretty much

(02:13):
kicks off that we actually go tobecause we're not going to the icebreaker.
We yeah anyway, Uh so Jamesis here, he went and enjoyed uh
smart Tour modified racing, a lotof fucking controversy. There. We went
and enjoyed the Hehmortor Speedway Northeast Classic. I was gonna, well, yeah,
I brought my kid out to goto the Child's Museum with Cairo midday

(02:36):
of it. But Saturday was practiceday, Sunday was race day. So
there's that. But James, uh, what happened over at the Smart Tour
decent race through and through? Yeah, it was. It was a little
bit of a mess. It wasgood until like towards the end, and
then everybody didn't know what the fuckwas going on. So what happened,

(02:59):
dude? No, the old daywas like the whole race was a mess.
Oh okay, well maybe I wasjust skimming. Let's start, Yeah,
let's start off with the fucking pacelaps, dude, Oh my god,
we did so like the start ofthe race, they the normal flagman
broke his I think he broke hiswrist go karting, No he can't,

(03:22):
so he can't flag. So theyhad a different flagger and I don't know
if he just doesn't know how tolisten to the radio from the race control
or anything, but they ran likefifteen laps of pace laps before the green
storm. Guys, the guys, the guys, just the guys, just
waving the yellow flag constantly, lapafter lap. Next thing you know,
you see the lights are off,all the pace car, the pace cars

(03:44):
pulling in. This dude's just wavingthe yellow flag. Jesus. Oh dude.
It was like, what is goingon? So four laps later we
get going green and then just dude, every crash that fucking happened every caution.
It wasn't a quick six laps ofyellow with our three laps for the
pits and like three laps is tofigure it out, dude. It was

(04:05):
fifteen twenty laps of fucking caution lapsevery caution. Like it was almost to
the point we were gonna cue upJason and be like, hey man,
do we need more fuel because likethis is getting crazy. We did,
so it was just, man,it was just so much caution laps.
Like we made a joke. Itwas the Hickory undred greenwoll ninety nine green
flag laps and one hundred caution lapsbecause it was just it was so long.

(04:28):
I wonder if there was a communicationproblem with with the tower to the
guy. I think there was becauselike it was rough, dude, like,
and we'd be waiting like we didour pit stop and I swear to
god, we waited like seven morelaps where we went green, and like
it was just it was crazy. And then there was like one point we
were like listen to the spotter. They didn't even say anything to the spotters,

(04:49):
and it was all of a suddenlike, oh, choose gone one
to green, Like, holy shit, guys. It was just a mess.
In that aspect. There was realgood racing, a lot of hard
racing, you know, a lotof bumping and grinding, nerf bang nerf,
nerf bar banging. You know.It was a good, good race.
And then yeah, the the end, the ending, which was kind

(05:09):
of crazy when when they blew itand both Sadlit cars they all just got
it. They were into it allnight. They were they were just racing
hard. They were using the bumper, they were we were hitting the chrome
horns, you know what. Thereit was just it's modified, you know
how normal modifies would race. Andthey and at the end it caused a
caution. They said they were gonnago green. White checkered Bert was in

(05:33):
second, and then Carson dropped thewindow net already, So all of a
sudden, they were just like, race is over. So they changed it
and we only so we only ranninety nine laps? Isn't that what it
is? It was the Hickory hundred. It was supposed to be the Hickory
hundred. So yeah, they theythey called it off early, and then

(05:59):
the whole tech Where do you holdon? Sorry, stay where you are?
Are you running back and forth inthat house talking to the fucking podcast
right now? It's like you're runningby and you're saying ship and then leaving,
No, it's my no, mymy mom's dogs going nuts. So
as you were saying back and forth, and you know, there was controversy,

(06:26):
well, no, hold on,don't skip over this. Who the
fuck was arguing because obviously in thevideo it was the crew. It was
just like the whole fucking both allthe crews because blewets so it was us,
yeah, two others. So itwas you know, Jason's car,
Burt's car, Slate's car, andhonestly, I think it was it was
the car blew it was driving, and then both Saddler cars were right after.

(06:48):
We're like they were all in alot like we were right next to
each other all day, so youknow, and they they were the cause
of the last caution. Blew Itkind of he just drove it in deep
and Ashman kind of came down andthey bumped and pushed him up and after
I couldn't see it after I sawthe contact. So I don't know what
actually like caused them from the actuallycaused a caution, but I saw it

(07:11):
was them. Well, I wasjust walking back with Jason. We were
we were all just going back bringingthe toolbox back from our pit stall,
and we just hear them screaming, and I just pulled the phone out and
was like, oh, hell yeah. So to put into clarification, oh
yeah, I said it was Ohit was. We didn't say it was
the right people, I did.I just we just said it was the
blewet in Baldwin because it was theteams, not because it was them.

(07:34):
It was just the teams. Andthat's how I said it to to Randy.
So don't yell at him, yellat me for just saying, hey,
blew It and fucking Baldwin are goingat it. Because after that whole
little little fight bullshit happened, blewIt and Baldwin were standing on the front
stretch literally talking at each other, like just saying like, oh you ran

(07:55):
me down, Oh you ran medown, You ran me like shit you
were And they just kept going inthe same circle for twenty minutes. But
I couldn't that was we were.We were trying to load cars and load
toolboxes and ship and get all Burt'stools out because he had to go figure
out what if he was pulling amotor or not. You know. So
there's just a lot going on.But yeah, no Blue, it was
Bluet's and the Saddler Stanley team. But I just I just when I told

(08:18):
you it was the Blue I justmeant it was their camps, you know
what I mean. I like, yeah, And then I watched the video
after I posted it, and Iwas already half in the bag. I
was like, I'm going to bed, I'll get so then, yeah,
we obviously figured it out in themorning. But like I said, we
owned up to it and all thatship. But it was the same It
was the same ship. If it'snot the drivers, it's the pit crews.

(08:39):
And I was at Jason in thebackground saying, all those guys are
the people that are not even thereto work on the fucking car. Yep.
Yeah, usually how it is.But hey, but then I looked
at Jason when I turned the videooff and I was like, hey,
Jason, if someone ever came upto you, I don't go to the
shop and I'll fock someone up.Yeah. Well, yeah, no,
you can go to the shop, you just choose not. So there's that.

(09:03):
Uh, and you can't use mypodcast as an excuse because we only
do this on Mondays when we havefucking time to do it. But at
the same time, it was thesame fucking thing. Like either it's their
camps or or the drivers themselves,it was still the same thing. And
people are like, oh, well, I don't know why. I don't

(09:26):
know why. We're trying to silentthe controversy. That's what half a racing
is is a controversy. And they'relike that, yeah, we fucked up
on the on the thing and wefixed it. I totally understand that,
and hopefully it fixed throughout fucking Facebook, because we're still people like telling Bald
when he was trouble and ship likethat, and I was like, I
was like, no, that's notwhat I meant, guys. It was

(09:48):
just fucking me. I have noproblems with he. He's a good driver.
I mean he's good for being aseventeen year old kid, you know
what I mean? Like he,I mean he and like kind of overhearing
him and blew it talking like hehe's no, he knows like about the
craft and he you know, hisdad definitely has taught him a lot in
his young age of driving these things. I don't think he's driven a lot

(10:09):
of them. I mean I don'treally know much of his career as a
matter. If you're around it alot, who know what the fuck's going
on? Yeah, exactly so,And like he, they and they all
they were saying, you know, the same ship to each other. Basically,
it was you know, it wasjust racers trying to get what their
side of the story was, youknow, just to another driver that is

(10:31):
mad at them and trying to dothe same thing. You know. So
it's it's just one of those deals. They're just getting ready for Bowman Gray.
I don't know if I don't thinkSadler and Stanley even goes to Bowman
Gray, but they're practicing for nextweek, for this week. But yeah,
so, I mean that was yeah. That was like the main like
hickory hickory stuff. Well yeah, but then tech tech cap yeah yeah,

(10:54):
and a tack. So the thetwenty three team did not want to pull
their motor. They didn't they refusing, causing a little ruckus and a lot
of controversy, a lot of talks, a lot of people not really just
doing anything. I'm standing around theircars. I mean, there was a
lot of that, and then theyfinally just brought Hirshman, Burton Lofton and

(11:16):
the texta. They shut the doorand they said, look it's top three
or that's it, and so allthree motors are are going to the NASCAR
Technical Institute to be checked out.Yeah so I mean but like, yeah,
they arguing for it, like likeyou gotta look at the circumstances Lofton

(11:39):
pulls off for victories, which Itotally get other than Baldwin four out of
the six, and they're gonna lookat it to argue about it is just
like I get the point. Butat the same time, it's like just
do what they say and just getit over with because the thing is like
the I can just look at youand be like all right, then you

(12:01):
don't want to fucking pull the nextguy will it doesn't matter, you know
what I mean? So I getit, But congratsle often guys, I
mean unofficially they won their fourth UHrace and row not in a row.
I can't keep saying that fourth racesseason for the Smart Tour, So they're
on a roll. I mean,he's doing pretty good for someone that said

(12:24):
he just wanted to fucking win one. He's got four, so he's doing
pretty good. And yeah, no, the tech shit is you'll find that
anywhere, you know what I mean. Just the other ship, like people
just trying to silence and the controversy. I would think you'd want that.
Well, yeah, like tear medown, like I want to show everybody

(12:46):
like I'm legal and I just whoopedyour asses, you know what I mean,
Like that's what I would want.Yeah, No, I get it.
I don't know. It's just yeah, it's just one of those things.
You gotta find that anywhere. Theonly other controversy there was on the
race that I forgot to mention tilljust now is Carson did jump the last
restart and they just let it go. He jumped it by a fucking half
a car length. Carlingth like itwas a good jump. I congress to

(13:11):
Carson Long. Yeah. And thenand then, like Bert said, Bert
said in his interview, he kindof he kind of used him up,
kind of used Burt up a littlebit on the restart as well. But
I couldn't see that from where Iwas standing. No, it happens.

(13:33):
I mean I get it. Yeah, I get it. But the people
that were like just trying to silencethe controversy and like, were mad that
you took a well, I getit, Like, but you're gonna see
that either way, and we're notgonna shy away from obviously that. Yeah,
we could have done a better writeup. I should stop drinking and

(13:54):
putting ship up that James says,I was like, who was it between
he said the names, I waslike, all right, throwing it up,
fucking there it is, so,yeah, I get it. Don't
yell at Randy Yellow. It's stillour fuck up. I should have done
better. But like like I said, I know, I fucked up,
and we do just drunk. Ifixed it, come on most of it
most of the time. Ah.But yeah, No, the tech ship
and like the controversy was the controversyand stuff no one threw a bumper at

(14:16):
each other, So that's pretty good. Yeah, So Sunday we went up
to uh because you went to SouthernNational, right, Yeah, yeah,
Wake Friday, But there was thatrate. There wasn't much going on in
that one. I'm just normal latemodels crashing into each other. Small bullering,

(14:39):
yeah, small bullering. Well theydid well. They did. Like
they had one guy just kind oflate, late dive under a guy spun
him out and I don't and itwas a car I haven't seen before from
going there, so I didn't knowif he was a new driver or not.
But later in the race they gotbehind him and he absolutely decimated him

(15:00):
right back at him and but theyran. Yeah. But besides that,
I mean it was a pretty goodday. I don't even remember who won
the races, to be honest withyou, because County was kind of a
blur, which was me and Parkerwho me and Parker. I raced for
Parker in that wonderbread car that Wake. Yeah, Well, he didn't bring
his car because week one was theship show and he was like, well,

(15:22):
I don't really want to destroy myship just yet. So me and
him sat in the stands and drankbeer, so it's kind of it's kind
of a little bit of a blur. Yeah, figures. So yeah,
Sunday we went up to New HetroMortor Speedway for the Northeast Classic, and
boy, it was warm when yougot there, and then when he sat

(15:43):
on the hill it was cold, like there was a lot of wind.
I was like, Cairo was like, I'm gonna blow away, all right,
just laying feet first, that's allyou can. You just had to
put some fishing weights on her onher shoes. Yeah, we hooked some
propane tanks to her so she didn'tfly away. But Boone had a good

(16:03):
time. We had a great timedown on the back stretch for Jimmy Dee
and the whole gang that did showup for that. I mean, it
was windy, but it was good. It was good racing throughout the thing,
throughout the whole program and stuff passwas uh pretty decent. Eddie Mack

(16:25):
picked up the win in that.Trevor Sanborne, Uh, Dennis Spencer got
like loose underneath uh Trevor Sanborne andwashed up and fucking Trevor went for a
hell of a ride out of twoand New Hampson Mortar speedway. It's a
mile track, so that they gotsome speed underneath them when they're doing when
they're doing rowndy rounds out there. So feel bad for Trevor glad he's all

(16:48):
right, obviously, I'm glad wehave soft walls and not concrete anymore,
like straight concrete. Uh. Butthe point of that was like, fucking
that was just a hard wreck.I mean he almost wrote it out outside
of the track, you know whatI mean? He lifted oh wo,
so he hit hard? Oh yeah. It did look like a lot of

(17:11):
the videos that I saw, likeit looked like every every hit was hard
yesterday for the yeah, for themost part, well every hit you showed,
it looked like every hit was like, well, yeah, we'll get
into the act race Like fuck,so was it only act? Was like
the only like ship show show?Absolutely? Ship show? I mean he
had like the past wasn't awful besideslike a couple of RECs or was it

(17:34):
because like the way everyone is talkingthe way I'm seeing how like Facebook and
not being there not. I didn'tget to watch it. I haven't really
seen much, but it sounded likethey were like, oh, the whole
day was a ship show No,it was just the ACT race. I
mean, it wasn't a ship Itwasn't a ship show on well, no,
it was a ship show on thedrivers because we'll get into it.

(17:56):
But a lot of people are scrutinizingthe the promoters, which is like a
total different thing. But we'll getwell obviously, uh get in. We'll
definitely get into that. Uh butyeah, no to what you were saying,
only the only the Act one hada lot of recks in it.

(18:18):
We'll say it wasn't a ship show. It was great racing through like some
of it, and it was justlike fuck why and then you know what
I mean, evened itself out?Does that makes sense? That was the
how are the mods there? Imean, I guess I can see ship
so the what which one is likethe tour mods or what? Yeah?
Oh, wasn't it that what ranwas tour mods? Well yeah, but

(18:42):
then they had the crate mods too. It was like two different mod things.
They had the open type and thenthey six O four crate if I'm
correct, Yeah, obviously six fourcrate. But yeah, so Eddie Mack
picked up the win in in thepast race. I'm just trying to get

(19:07):
the the thing about I'm trying toremember off the top of my head.
I know no Sella won the TourType I want to say, hold on
fucking a dude. Twenty seven differentfucking divisions for modifieds. Anyway, Yeah,

(19:29):
so the past Northeast Classic fifty,Eddie Mack picked up the win,
DJ Shaw second and Eddie was moving. I mean, you don't know how
hard cars are rolling until you seethem mount mild tracking, Like, holy
fuck, did he just pick upsome carlinks? You know what I mean?
You know what I mean? Uh, Tour Type Mod winner was Anthony
Nocell so oh yes, I wasright there. And then Sonoco Mod's Danny

(19:53):
Kates picked up the win for thoseguys, and then the act race was
Switcher towards the end, overcoming DerekLuchalki to to pick up the win his
second win at the Northeast Classic. But the six H four guys they only

(20:15):
had like six cards, but theyput on a hell of a show.
Street Stocks, Ryan Waterman, theApplebee's Assassin, Applebee's Appetizer Assassin. Ryan
Waterman picked up the win. CharlieBaldwin was fucking in his own area code

(20:36):
the race before, like I feelbad for him because he had a fast
piece that whole day and like Ithink it was like eight laps, nine
laps into the feature. The motorssaid take it easy, but some motherfucker
was running thirty two point seven's ina street stock. A motors meyway,

(20:56):
I don't know if he had thatsmall boat in the right rear again like
he used to, but that thingwas fucking rolling, you know what I
mean? Oh yeah, uh soI did? I did hear that from
Albi told me that he was fuckinggoing moving like the next guy was like
five tenths off. I if Iif I remember the half a second off

(21:17):
to be honest, like their fastestlap, like Ryan Waterman ran like a
thirty three. I don't want todiscredit the man. Hold on, let
me let me go look at thetimes the feature. Oh shit, I
gave him some more credit. Soso fucking Ryan Waterman in that fucking feature.

(21:41):
We'll we'll do the we'll do thebest, uh best lap time.
Jimmy Renfruit ran a thirty three totwo. Okay, Then you scroll all
the way down to Charlie ballwin inthe in the U feature race, he
ran a thirty three oh, butin his heat race he ran a thirty
two point seven. I was like, holy damn fuck, Like I didn't

(22:03):
know it was that hard, LikeI don't know, it was just fucking
rolling, cheating. Fuck. Butno, it was great racing all throughout
the day. It was just somefucking dumb, fucking moves that I watched.
On the backstretch. You had, like this is no particular order.

(22:25):
You had Stephen Donnie who he hadto run down the backstretch and got ran
down the track a mile track, got ran down the back like the NASCAR
ship where they just run you allthe way to the fucking bottom. Yeah,
pretty much that's what happened, likethe Indy car so so Steven had.
There's video on race in America.Anybody can fucking argue with me about

(22:45):
this or not, but come on, Stephen Donnie who he had to run
down the back stretch and got randown to like almost the line, but
he was still pulling all the way. And then Moltz just fucking hung it
left just here you go, andabsolutely yeah, he absolutely destroyed himself.

(23:07):
Why did you guys do not haveany fights? I don't know, because
well I do know. Christmas shotdoesn't tolerate that ship. So if you
want to race the year and getthe big pay out at the end of
the year and be able to babygot it. But but yeah, the
first tour does that? Will Iwill literally go broke and go follow that
tour. Support them first tour thatputs boxing gloves on every fucking on every

(23:33):
flagstand and says winner gets fifty bucks. If you have a problem fighting on
the front stretch telling you fully supportingthem one hundred percent, I'll do anything.
No, I totally get it.But uh fuck, what was I
gonna say? Yeah? So thatthat was that. So there was one

(23:55):
ship that I saw. Davey Riandois going through the fucking Ringer right now,
And I've watched the video about fouror five times and I still don't
know what he did wrong except makethe move to the inside and ride it
all the way down. I mean, he was in his lane. If
we're going off a lane choice,it's not like he moved up and grabbed

(24:18):
Eric Sands and we're gonna call ithow it is. I don't give two
shits who anybody is. So howit looked at the video, literally the
video on racing America and stuff likethat. Whether people want to fucking is
okay with the mover. I meanthere was just people just angry at people,
just to be angry at people. But like this was one incident where

(24:41):
I was like, I don't understand. Maybe I don't understand the closing speeds.
Maybe I just am on the outsidelooking in, but any person,
it looked like Davy was there andEric Sands came down, collected each other.
They went up towards the wall.Connor McDougall, that pour son of
a bit, she fucking got theworst of it. Absolutely hammered the wall
straight up, I mean hard.I was like Jesus Christ. And then

(25:04):
obviously when you hit the right frontoff the hit the right front off the
the wall, it probably you loseyour brakes a little quick. So he
rolled in right after it and justlike slapped tard. Joey Pole got turned
by someone and turned three backed intothe wall. And then there was a
pile up on the backstretch. Andfucking poor Fellows who just just recently lost

(25:27):
his garage and still got got histime, like still had time while dealing
with all the shit that he did. Put a put a act late model
together to go back out there withhis old man and just race and just
ride in the back and towards helike towards where this shit happened. But
what had absolutely got destroyed down theback there's just a lot of people destroying

(25:51):
each other. I mean, whatit needs a new car, Trevor Sandbourne
the same thing. Like there's abunch of people going to the chassis shops
this time off of just stupid fuckingmoves or just both fighting for the same
position and all that stuff. Ididn't see the backup, the pile up
on the back because race in Americait's like one video and then you get

(26:12):
the back like you get to watchthe backstretch from the fucking flag stand,
but really high up. So Ilook up Tanner Woodard is just like absolutely
destroyed, I mean killed. Andthen poor bastard Fellows, Fellows gets it

(26:33):
wowed up and I don't know whothe hell was in this other twenty one
that was out there, but motherfuckerdidn't try well, he did try to
stop, but he was a littletoo late and absolutely folded the shit out
of Fellows, sending him Casey bEddie was in it. And then a
couple other guys. But it wasjust a shit show. I mean,
I'm glad Whatard was all right.I mean that was a fucking wreck and

(26:56):
a half, especially at New hampshMortor Speedway. I mean, you're carrying
a lot of speed through that corner. You don't slow down that much.
You just drift up and then tryto peg it down and hopefully the car
sticks. But yeah, so thatwas that. And then uh yeah,

(27:17):
yeah, for the most part, that was that was most of it.
It was just a lot of carsthat there's a lot of moves that shouldn't
have been happened, or it wasjust a lot of zero respect being put
out there. I mean, afterthe fact, after all the dust settles
and everything's done, then people arejumping on social media saying these cars aren't

(27:37):
built for this, which yeah, which I totally understand. I mean,
yeah, I get it, likethat's what I'm saying. And then but
at the same time, I'm gonnaI'm gonna like throw this out to like
old school. Back in the eighties, they were throwing late models on Darlington
for special events Darlington in the eightieswhen safety didn't fucking matter. And now

(27:59):
you guys are scared because you guysare building these light ass cages to go
on short tracks and then you go, oh, let's go alow, you
gotta build a safer car. Idon't think it's that, It's not I
it's well, yeah, you guyscan all go to the guys can go
all to the promoter and be like, for these bigger tracks, we need
this or that or this or that. Like at the end of the day,

(28:19):
all you guys, all forty ofyou guys signed up. You guys
all knew what the fuck you're gettinginto. If you guys can't police your
own drivers to not run like totalfuck balls, and I don't know what
to tell you there. You can'tput it on the promoter for bringing on
and bringing you to a track that'sa that's a prestigious track for NASCAR to

(28:41):
be in New Hampshire, A loan. I mean, we're lucky to even
have it with how fucking the shittyracing has been ever since before the next
gen car. But you get mypoint, Well, we've always this is
the fourth running of it. Imean, the showdown was was was the
beginning of it all, you knowwhat I mean? And we put on
a hell of a show, fromstreet stocks to late models to modified all

(29:06):
that shit. No one but thefourth year in and I know some people
had the same take on like howthese cars are not safe enough to be
there. And I'm not going tobe an expert of an act late model.
But at the same time, youcan just go to the promoter and
say, like, like, itused to be an imitation and you used
to have to have to show yourworth for it and all that stuff,

(29:27):
and I mean you can't. Yougot to give people the benefit of the
doubt because they're still spending almost thesame amount of money as the other guys
to get a car out there atthe like it's still a base cost to
get out there, and obviously you'regonna have your highly funded teams and then
your teams that are this These recksjust absolutely destroyed the twenty twenty four year

(29:49):
for them, you know what Imean. And that's what you get.
So to a point, I mean, I don't I don't know how to
put it nicely. You gotta yougotta, you gotta sit down all together
and understand you can't put short trackmoves out there on a big mile mile

(30:11):
track that you're doing one hundred andthirty plus. A lot of people just
need to use their head. Andat the same time, like like cause
if you guys, if you guyscollect each other and you guys got spotters,
so you can't say you don't andyou have mirrors and you have awareness
because you're running a fucking late modeland you're yeah, you're not running a
late model just because just because like, yeah, the late model. You

(30:33):
kind of have to have at leastsomewhat of a sense of idea driving well
to be in a late model. It depends how far you go there,
but you get the point. Butlike you get what I'm saying. Yeah,
No, I get what you're sayingobviously, but like just everybody like
going after act and shit like that. I was like, I was like,
I get you guys as concerns andI and I'm with you at the

(30:56):
end of the day. It's driversafety at the end of the day.
But I don't know why you wouldwant to shut down an event or go
somewhere else that we've been at formultiple years. I mean half of you
guys, you guys run a fullseason either at Thompson White Mountain or thunder
Road and then you want to goback to another short track to run of

(31:17):
a one off race, to godo that, just to go run I
mean to each of their own.But I mean I thought the New Hampshire
was I'd be circling exactly. Ithought it would be a different fucking thing.
But like people like track in NewEngland, the biggest track in New
England, and then like you don'tsay you wouldn't go there, like you're
crazy. And there's also there's alwaysa way to make cars safer or anything

(31:41):
like that. And that's why Iwas like, go to the promoter,
see what you can change, thensay we need to just stop this because
it's a one off track that youguys are doing that it is a prestigious
track, just like how we wentdown to Richmond, or you go down
to Bristol and you go run yourshort track car there and stuff like that.
Like, yeah, the the marginof error is very way slimmer at

(32:06):
a bigger track obviously, but atthe same time it's all the same risk
that you guys are all taking allat the same time. Obviously, driver
safety is in Christmashd's eyes. Imean, I don't think it's not the
nineteen fifties where everybody's out there withthe fence posts from their neighbors all jig
welded together and you're out there runningdirt coops and shit like that. Like

(32:27):
there's also there's always like Ben strivesto get it, to get it safer,
and so everybody can walk away andmost people like and most people just
had soreness, which is which isgreat to hear. Obviously, I mean,
we're moving. I totally get it, but just the way how shit

(32:52):
went about it after the fact, after all that stuff. It starts with
the drivers and then it goes tostuff that you that you guys can make
too, to make better I don'tknow, better racing, better safety,
I guess at the I mean,yeah, that's what I meant, better

(33:14):
safety for your cars and implementing rulesand just so you guys are safer out
there. Trust me, you guyshave more balls than I would put my
car out there. You know whatI mean. I get it. I
get the the speed factor, thewrecking factor, the sudden impacts and all
that stuff. But you'll tear shitup at Bristol, Richmond, Martinsville.
Like I said on my post,or your local track. At Thompson,

(33:37):
I saw the same impacts that Isaw at the World Series. I saw
it loud and to a point, you know what I mean, And that's
that's you wreck hard at Thompson. You wreck hard at tom Hard, you
wreck hard anywhere you want to be, I mean. But obviously, like
there's different levels of it, butthe same wreck time you and a hell

(34:00):
of a lot of speed at Thompson. Maybe not quite as much as Loud,
but you're pretty fucking close moving movingimpacts or impacts is way tougher at
Thompson because it's straight concrete and I'mglad that keep going. Sorry, And
that's I mean, like the bigdifference was, like they're complaining about those
hits and everything. They're not complaining, they're worried about for someone remember that

(34:24):
there's a safer barrier there for areason, because of how dangerous the speeds
can be. Like that's they theyhave safety up there, and glad for
Loud and to have that, youknow, even for the short it helps
the short track guys because that hurt, that hit would have hurt hurt hell
of a lot more if those thosesafer barriers weren't there. Man, if

(34:45):
you hit Tom, that would havebeen some broken legs, you know what
I mean. So to my pointis like, yeah, I get it.
It's all different like fractions of impactsand stuff like that. Like,
guys, I totally understand, Butit all starts with you, guys.
It all starts with the drivers,I mean, and some of you drivers

(35:06):
fucking put on a hell of ashow, and some of you drivers had
some bad fucking luck. And I'mnot putting any blame on fucking anybody because
that's not what I'm here to do. I'm here to just say, like
like obviously they put the factor ofyour safety into the thing. We do
this race because it's a big eventfor local guys because we can't just roll
into fucking New Hantre mortor Speedway wheneverwe wanted to and run run our local

(35:30):
car, you know what I mean, unless you're doing doing the road course
race and and shit like that. But that's about it. And then other
than or go see the fucking Christmaslights like Cairo over here. But like
other than that, it's like it'sa big event. That's like you tear
the same shit up anywhere else youwould tear shit up. It was just
harder impacts, which I totally understand, and bigger speeds and all that stuff.

(35:52):
And that's where you guys all gotto come to a collective group.
When you guys are in that driversmeeting and being like, give each other
room, give each other space, you guys are gonna have big runs.
Closing speeds are wicked, harder hitsbecause once you collect each other, you're
just going for the ride. Youhave no control what the fuck happens goes
next. So it was great race, and it was a lot of people

(36:15):
got fucking torn up, and itsucks that it happened, but it is.
It's racing. It's what we allsigned up for. Everybody that would
signed up for that race, theyknew what they were getting into. Where
issues pushed that they shouldn't have.Yeah, so you guys need to fully
soli drivers or talk to them ordo something, do something different. Don't

(36:36):
go yelling all this shit about shipand all that, and it fucking goes
nowhere with it. Trust me,I'm a known product of it. But
at the same time, like Iget, I'm glad everybody walked away safely.
Like at the end of the day. I get people's concerns. Don't
think I don't. I driver's safetyis definitely like my number one is number

(37:00):
one, anybody's number one. Wewe do this as a hobby. I
mean, I've definitely had my fairshare of not being safe. Well,
yeah, I get that same here. But I think I'm not. I
actually think I'm pretty No, I'vebeen pretty bad. I went to Southern
National out of cage and that wasprobably the dumbest thing I've ever done.
Yeah, so at least he feltdumb for doing it. I'll do it
again, it again. Okay,So James, I'm just stupid. I'm

(37:23):
just stupid. At the end ofthe day. We want you guys safe.
Who gives a shit about James. He doesn't do anything. He and
I got a helmet. He justsits there and uh, but like I
totally understand. So that was that, I mean, that was most of
it. I mean, you can'treally do much for it's racing. Everybody

(37:45):
was signed up for it. Ifhe didn't want to do it, he
didn't have to sign up. It'sup to the guys. And yeah,
that could I don't know if itcan make a break to the season.
No, it is. Yeah,it's the first point race of the thing.
It's like some people and if someof these smaller teams that got involved

(38:07):
that probably don't have you know, big sponsorship or money to just throw in
a car, they're fucked for theseason now, you know, first race
of the season. You can't evenrun Like that sucks like that, I
might, like I don't know,Like I said, I don't know how
they didn't not how they did notfight, because I would have been fighting.
I would. I mean, ifI can't run the rest of the

(38:28):
season anyway because the cars fucked,I mean might as well, I'll punch
the dude in the fucking nose, like at the anger, like at the
I get the concern. I totallyget it. What we do. You
should shut it down. You guysshould just keep doing it and just but
have I mean, I even likemaybe even have if the if there are
guys that are inexperienced and then thisis their first time out loud, you

(38:51):
know, first time, have anextra practice for just the guys who have
never been there. Just do extrameetings, you know, like that you
help these guys get accustomed to itas well. Don't just like be like,
all right, we're in a practiceand race. That's it, like
figure it out. Well, that'swhat you get with mother nature. But
at the same time, I knowwhat they used to have is that they
used to have an invitation. Soyou had to show your worth to be

(39:14):
not your worth, but your abilityto be able to know even like didn't
you have to be like top certainamount of points in the in the act.
I didn't go that far, right, I didn't go that far and
what it was, but yeah,I'm sure it was forty three of drivers
at that would do the race forforty or forty three and then yeah,

(39:36):
it was always an invitational until theystopped running it NASCAR weekend. Yes,
so, and then they would andeven that, then they had the bags
where you had the the advanced people, the people that been there before,
and then obviously uh like the intermediaand then beginner and then that's where you

(39:59):
sat like intermediate went middle of thepack, aren't experienced, they're in the
back. Just figure out where you'reat go from there, you know what
I mean. But other than that, I mean, it was a it
was a rough race. I totallyget it, and I totally get that
A lot of people have to rebuildfrom here. A lot of people are
done because of here. But that'sthe that's the chance you get. I

(40:22):
mean, I mean you take withanything. I mean I could just you
can destroy your car at a quartermile or a full mile. It's part
of the game. I get theget the pissed off ship because we shouldn't
be doing short track moves at thistrack. It's stupid, it's not needed.
A lot of issues were pushed thatdidn't need to be pushed. And

(40:44):
I mean it's fifty laps had amile track, so no, that's like,
that's a long fucking it's a longrace. You had. You guys
had enough time. But I getit and gotta get where it's going because
that track is all about runs andI totally get it. So that was
that. I mean, other thanthat, there wasn't that much controversy other

(41:05):
than just uh, just just themoves that didn't need to be moved,
like pulled and stuff like that, and people not being aware of their surroundings
or whatever the case may be.However you guys want to chalk that ship
up. Is that's what you guyswant to do? Some moves I I
don't. I don't understand why,but that's what happened in Okay. Uh.

(41:31):
But at the same time, itwas just lack of respect, not
giving room, pushing issues that didn'tneed to be pushed. Is what it
is. You know what I mean. It's racing. Yeah, it happens
in racing, and we can't belike, like, fuck, that guy
fucked this guy. The people thatknow that they fucked that, they know

(41:54):
because they're sitting there cutting the backhalf of their car off right now while
we're doing this. So people knowwhere they were wrong or not know there
where they were wrong, or whateverthe case may be. That's between you
guys. You guys gotta get yourYou guys gotta go watch the tape and
watch where he's fucked up people onthe same page. And yeah, Racing
America covered it so you can getthere. They got pretty much almost every

(42:15):
damn crash that did happen that day. But like I said, I get
the anger, I get all thatship, and you guys just gotta I
don't know, sacked Tapp, theguy that's driving everybody like shit, tell
him to chill the fuck out.I don't know, but I get the
concern but I think last part Irvin, Like remember when Ire in Irvan I

(42:37):
kept wrecking the fuck out of peopleand they in the driver's meeting and I
told him like, calm the fuckdown. Yeah yeah, mm hmm,
that's all you really gotta do andbring that and ship back. Stop being
a bitch. If a promoter's tellingyou you're driving like ship, you're probably
driving like Shita, like the racewrector the driver whatever, you're driving like

(42:59):
shit in a me you're probably drivinglike shit. Well they're calling you out.
I get that, but I getthe concern and everybody's all that stuff.
I totally get the anger all that, but I don't think the Northeast
Classics should go anywhere. I mean, we went to Richmond. That was
a great time. I had funat Richmond. We've had big events at

(43:20):
Bristol. We have had big eventsat Martinsville. People wreck that ship too,
so that's what it is. ButI don't know. I'm off to
manad Knock this weekend, make thereturn to the Bad Dog for their repave
and all the all the festivities therewith Desmond. We were up there fixing

(43:42):
up safety ship. James, whereyou headed for this weekend is the Bowman
Gray opener. So you are going, oh fuck yeah, okay, perfect,
So James will be at Bowman.Come come go fist the cuffs with
me about me naming guys wrong,Yeah, it's please. I'll be Wake
Friday most likely m hm. Soyou know, Wake Friday, Bowman Saturday,

(44:07):
and if I find something to doon Sunday, I'll I'll be doing
it. So that's how Sunday wentwith us with Southern Nationals. Sammy just
called me. I was like, hey, they're racing today. You want
to go? And I was like, yeah, yeah, fuck it.
That's when I met when I Ifinally got to meet that Daniel Dean.

(44:27):
We've talked a lot, Like wemet at Rockingham before when I worked there,
and we talked on here and thereabout like Martinsville and ship like that.
But then I, yeah, sowe have to shoot ship a little
bit on Sunday. And then hepopped the tire in the charger rais and
I got to change the tires. So I felt pretty cool about that.
I just kind of like moved Ikind of moved his crew members out the
fucking way. I was like, just give me the fucking thing. No,

(44:49):
I totally get that. They werea little they're just a little slow
man, you know. And Iwas just like, you know what,
fucking bang my bang, and youknow, cranked it out. We appreciate
it. Service killed the pitstop.Killed the pit stop on the Smart Tour
on Saturday too, So that wasawesome. That's good fucking like like actually,
like honestly, I fucking perfect pichopon my on my end, I

(45:10):
don't and nine did a good jobof a slamming that right rear on had
both left sides done. Oh dude, we killed it. It was quick
prid to you boys, right. But yeah, that's that's where we'll be
this weekend for the first actual featureracing at Minad Knock Sense the Repave,

(45:30):
So we'll be there with Desmond.So yeah, that's that's what we're doing.
James will be at Bowman. Yeah. I don't really have much guys.
Uh, I mean just uh,I don't know, give room space.
I mean, ship don't drive likeidiots. Yeah, I mean Act

(45:52):
puts on a good race and anywherethat they go from the short tracks of
the Big One, so I meaneven Hickory, they didn't do bad or
the last time. They were atHickory last year. Like it wasn't They
didn't drive like idiots there. Yeah, it's just one of those things.
You have great races, you haveship races, and this was right in
the middle. I mean with theshitty wrecks that did happen. Yeah,
but they were still good racing.I mean, Jesse Switcher towards the end,

(46:15):
Uh pretty much caught Derek, who'swon it two times and he's on
his way to a third, andJesse Uh got the runs towards the end,
picked it up and uh picked upthe first win for a c t
Eddie Mack picked up the first winfor pass. But yeah, no,
it was a fun time. Ienjoyed my myself other than freezing. But

(46:38):
we were freezing up there. Butregardless, we had fun. This is
season three, episode one, SeasondaleBaby, Season Dale, Season Dale season
I guess we'll call it this onejust because it's the first. We gotta

(46:58):
we gotta do that, we gottado The day episode is episode three.
It's gonna be that's gonna be theday episode. That's three three. You
know, Yeah, I got you, We'll do it that. But uh,
oh and maybe we'll maybe we'll geta driver on that drives a number
three car just for the hell ofit. Not Austin Dylan telling the fuck
off. Oh no, not him. I would have talking about him.
I was just gonna go find thenext three car in the pits this weekend

(47:21):
and just be like, yo,yeah that works. But episode so I
get like two weeks, dude,I'm gonna get you on because you were
number three. No, I getthat, And that's literally that's what's gonna
happen watching. Uh but yeah,no, that's that's this episode. Hopefully
we have more for next week. We'll see what happens throughout the twenty twenty
four season. Seems spicy already downsouth, and it sounds like it's making

(47:45):
its way up north. So we'llsee you guys next weekend doing this stuff.
Yeah, thank you guys for listening. James, go fuck yourself.
Yeah, fuck you
