Protecting Yourself from Email Forwarding Scams

They hack into a victim’s email account and obtain wiring instructions. By creating a rule in Outlook to bypass the victim and directly reach the banker, they manage to redirect funds to their account. Fortunately, the bank notified the victim about the suspicious activity and halted further withdrawals when she reported it.
