really great speakers. And so now tonight. So yesterday, which
was Monday, I was sitting here working on the comic
con and I got a phone call. You know, a
(02:54):
gentleman said, I hear you're having an event and I
would like to be a vendor. I said, sure, let
me tell you a little bit about it, and ultimately
we agreed that he might want to come on board
and be a vendor. Well, he said, by the way,
I need to tell you something. And whenever someone says that,
(03:14):
it's always good. I know I'm getting ready to hear
a grand, grand story. He said, let me tell you
who I am and what I've done. And I was
so shocked, surprised and pleased to hear this story. You
can't you can't believe it. So our special guest tonight
(03:35):
from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Is Simon Garth. How you
doing tonight, Simon.
Speaker 3 (03:40):
Great, good to be with you, gentlemen.
Speaker 1 (03:42):
We are glad you're here. And I mean, you've got
probably one of the most interesting stories I have ever heard.
It turned out to be one of the top five
hoaxes of two thousand and one. But it's the fact is,
it's a great story. It's a great human interest story.
(04:02):
So I'm gonna turn the floor over to you and
tell us how all this got started. Ladies and gentlemen,
here's the Simon Garth's story for two thousand and one.
Speaker 3 (04:14):
Yeah, so let's go back in time, two thousand and one.
So eBay. Everyone's familiar with that. At that time, maybe
five or six years old, and everybody wasn't into eBay
like they are now. Wasn't the popular thing where it
was a household name. But I was on eBay and
I was doing really good. And if you're on eBay,
and you know, you get a little number next to
your name, like a credit score. As you do interactions
(04:36):
with people, you do deals buying or selling. Well, a
glitch happened on my account and I couldn't sell anymore.
I could buy but I couldn't sell anymore. And that
was and that's what I like to do, is buy
and sell this little garbage and stuff on eBay. And
so being a new company and being two thousand and one,
(04:57):
there was no customer service number to call. It was
they emails back and forth, and I said, listen, you
know my account is messed up. What can I do?
So they said, finally, we're sorry about that. You're gonna
have to start a new account, create a new name,
and use your same financial information, but you're gonna have
to have a new name because people can't have two
(05:19):
accounts on eBay. So I said, okay. It was a
pain in my butt, and I said, you know what,
just to get back at eBay for the inconvenience of this,
and for me starting like a new credit score, because
that was the big deal. It killed my credit score.
You know, I had to start from scratch. I said,
let me do something stupid. Now, this was before they
were selling kidneys and babies or trying to sell them
(05:40):
on eBay and all that stuff, so nothing really wacky
had been out there too much yet. So I put
a picture of a glass jar and empty glass jar,
and I said the soul of Bigfoot for sale for
five dollars right, and the story I put along with it,
you know just where the starting bid was five bucks
(06:00):
jar whether you think the soul's in there or not. Whatever.
Two people contacted me, and once, you know, I got
a couple of I think there was a couple of
bids on it before they eventually took it off. But uh,
it got a couple of bids. But I got a
couple of letters. And one guy said you've lost your mind.
You know, you're nuts, And I ignored that one. But
the other letter said this, I got to know the story,
(06:23):
please call me. And so I was bored and I
called the guy. I forgot to block my number, and
uh so I caught this dude, and he says, tell
me the story. So I'm gonna have fun on board,
and I said, okay, listen. At the time, I said,
I'm a thirty year old security guard. I was, uh,
you know, which was It wasn't true. I was thirty,
(06:44):
but I was a security guard. And I was camping
in ain Or, South Carolina, and you know, a little
outside of Myrtle Beach here, I said, And I was
while I was camping I was attacked by Bigfoot, and
I shot and killed Bigfoot. But I happened to dabble
in voodoo a little bit, and so before Bigfoot died,
I removed his soul and I encased it in this
(07:05):
glass jar. Now, you know, don't try to buy the body.
That's not for sale on eBay. I'm trying to work
a deal with a Discovery channel and so that's not
for sale, but I will sell you the soul of
Bigfoot in this glass jar. So again eBay kicks the
you know, the the auction off. But this guy says, okay,
that's he goes. This is the story of the century.
(07:26):
I thought, after I told him that through a voodoo process,
me putting the soul into this glass jar, that he
would have said, okay, have a nice day, nice talking
to you.
Speaker 1 (07:36):
But no, he was.
Speaker 3 (07:37):
He was, he was, he was fully in. So I
told him, I said, well, listen, my uh, my sister
or somebody in the family had a bunch of kids
and we got a big meat freezer. So we threw
out all the meat. We put Bigfoot in there. So
that's where he's at, and uh, you know, this is
this is what we've got. But again. I'm trying to
work a deal with the Discovery Channel, so please, it's
not up for auction and all that. He says to me, Well, listen,
(07:59):
how do you how do you want to be contacted?
And I'm thinking to myself, God, he wants to talk
about this again. I said, look, you know, if you
if you have to, just just call me back, you know.
And I said, you've got my number, and he said, okay.
He didn't tell me that he was a reporter for
the news Flash service, and he took that. He took
my name and my phone number, and he put it
(08:20):
out to eight hundred different news outlets in one shot.
My phone when people say my phone blew up. Now
my phone blew up, you know, it blew up. Calls
from all over the country from anybody you can think of.
I've got, you know, messages from the Discovery Channel said hey,
(08:43):
we understand you're trying to, you know, work a deal
with us. Please, we've had a blank check. You know,
how much do you want for big but we'll do this.
Two of the to Me one of the most remarkable
calls where Lauren Coleman, cryptozoologist, calls me and wants to
talk about that, but my favorite was Art Bell from
Coast to Coast.
Speaker 1 (09:04):
At the time.
Speaker 3 (09:04):
Oh my god, Art Bell the art and.
Speaker 1 (09:08):
He is the god. He is, truly and still is
the god of the paranormal interviewers, one of the the
dean of the Dean of everything paranormal. And just to
think you got a phone call from Art Bell, I
am impressed.
Speaker 3 (09:23):
Well, I'm registering my kid in preschool at the time
of the phone rings, and so I said, excuse me,
I gotta take this call. It was, you know, back then,
you weren't getting all these weird telemarketer calls, so you
actually took an outside area code phone call and Hello, Simon,
this is Art Bell. And I'm like, oh my god,
the Art Bell, you know, is calling me. And he
(09:45):
was the first one where I said, listen, mister Bell,
this is uh something that's got a little gotten out
of control. And I take you and your show very serious.
Your viewers are very serious people. They'll probably try to
kill me. I'm gonna let you know this is this
is fake. This, none of this happened. But I was
just having fun with this guy and he put this
out to everybody, and it's it's really gone crazy, and
(10:09):
he said, well, listen, I appreciate you being honest. You know,
good luck with whatever happens with this. But he was
this super cool guy who was an honor to speak
to him, even if it was briefly and for some nonsense.
I'd rather it be something else, but it was just,
you know, it was an honor and privilege to talk
to our bell over that. But in the meantime, I
was interviewed all over the country through radios, and mostly
(10:31):
radio programs would call me up and say can we
have you on, like for radio morning programs, and a
lot of them, I would say, well, listen, guys, you know,
here's the deal. It's it's just a hoax, and here's
what happened. They said, no, no, we go with it
like it's real. Half of them wanted to go with
it like it was real. The other half said okay,
and well they'll they'll. They would kind of tear me
apart for, you know, perpetrating a hoax, which I really
(10:53):
didn't try to do. I was just having some fun
with eBay and it got out of control. So for
two weeks, I'm on radio shows all over the country
and it's I'm having a blast and all that stuff.
I never know, you know, when the calls are coming in,
it's it's it's a great time. I finally end up
getting a call from a local report of the Sun News,
(11:13):
Myrtle Beach's newspaper. And I don't think I said this yet.
At the time, I'm a police officer. I'm retired now,
but I was a police officer. This woman calls me
and she says, can I do a story on this
on your bigfoot stuff? I said, yeah, sure, and she
starts asking me a lot of questions, and she wanted
to get a picture of me, and I said, whoa, whoa, whoa.
(11:35):
I can't. I can't have a picture of me because
then then you know, cat's out of the back. I'm done.
You know, my chief sees that I'm fired. I'm gone.
So she says, okay, we don't have to do that,
We'll just we'll do it over the phone. Well, she
was the daughter of one of our police detectives. I
knew this the whole time. And I'm sitting there going, oh,
I'm dead. I'm just digging my hole deeper and deeper.
(11:56):
But you know, I wasn't really defrauding anybody. I was
making no money off this. It was just we're just
having some fun on the radio. But she ended up
doing a huge story in the Sunday paper. And remember
the Sunday papers, and maybe they still are, but they
used to be big papers. So it was nice. I
was the front page there, a big old story. But
with her, we came clean and I ended up telling
(12:17):
her Listen, some friends of mine got a hold of
my phone in my computer and had you know, had
their fun, and they set this whole thing up. But
it's not you know what happened happened with the eBay thing,
and I said, you know, we just wanted to get
on the Howard Stern Show with the whole thing. And
we never ended up getting on the Howard Stern Show
with it, but you know, we we did have our fun.
But all this went on for two weeks, and then
(12:39):
September eleventh happened. You know, the world shut down and
they had something else to talk about. But if you
if you go online and look up Simon Garth and Bigfoot,
you know, the story's still there and if you can
find the right article, I still have the same phone number,
so it's if you can find the right one. You
can annoy me with phone calls.
Speaker 1 (12:58):
Oh my god, you know what, that's exactly what I did.
I'll tell you this. After we talked, I went online.
I typed in Simon Garth, Bigfoot, Myrtle Beach and it
came right up. Oh yeah, yeah, it really does. And
what an interesting story, especially to kick off our time
(13:22):
on Channel twelve. Uh here in it's just great trade,
doun Away, you are going to get to start the
questioning of Simon Garth.
Speaker 2 (13:34):
I can only imagine. I can only imagine when you
finally say to people, no, no, no, I just I just
made it up. It's made it up. They're gonna be thinking, oh,
he's lying. Yeah, this really happened. Absolutely, this is proof
positive that really and he didn't want to tell anybody
about it because now he's got this. I can just
(13:55):
hear people thinking that in their little minds that will
because he's saying it's fake, then we know it's not fake.
Speaker 3 (14:03):
What Therefore, I'm trying to work the deal higher, trying
to get that's.
Speaker 2 (14:07):
Right, you're not Maybe you'll give a finger a big
foot out of the freezer. You're holding out for the
big box for the whole.
Speaker 3 (14:15):
Big foot Well see untild by the time. Really we're
talking about people had pictures, footprints and stuff like that.
This guy is talking about he's got bigfoot in the freezer.
Speaker 2 (14:24):
Yeah, frozen bigfoot, fresh fresh, frozen big fresh obstacles.
Speaker 3 (14:30):
Let's go.
Speaker 1 (14:33):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (14:33):
And I tell you, some of those DJs tore me apart,
and you're like, how dare And that's what with our
bells audience. I didn't want to get ripped apart, but
some of those morning show guys they tore me apart,
like how could you do this to people? You know,
get their hopes up and all this many and you.
Speaker 2 (14:52):
Just have too much time on their hands, too much
espucally me things like this on the radio.
Speaker 3 (14:57):
Sure especially, I can see that. But if you tried
to do this, it wouldn't have had the same result.
You know, it would have got no wind at all,
you know, no traction. It was just I.
Speaker 2 (15:10):
Probably made it jump even higher on people's radar because
you know, just wow, people people are people.
Speaker 3 (15:21):
But it shows you they want to they want to believe,
and they wouldn't love to hear that, like, Okay, we
finally got one in a freezer.
Speaker 1 (15:27):
Here we go.
Speaker 3 (15:29):
Now, if you if you remember, and all.
Speaker 2 (15:31):
The big foot hunters are saying, oh, man, a freezer.
I should have looked in a freezer.
Speaker 3 (15:35):
That's freezer man. And then a few years later some
guys in Georgia tried to steal the story a little bit.
But where they went wrong and I think there was
an ex copper like a cop out on medical leaf
or something like that, they said they found a dead bigfoot.
But where they went wrong was they were charging people
to go see the site where they found the dead
(15:56):
big foot because they said they had one in a
freezer as well, and they even put a picture and
it was a terrible costume and it was it was bad.
You could tell right away. But they were trying to
steal the story. And I was like, guys, but they
got arrested.
Speaker 2 (16:07):
From what I understand, there are there are hopes and
people making money taking money.
Speaker 3 (16:12):
You can't you can't do it. And you got fraud
right there, the real fraud. So yeah, there's telling stories,
then there's fraud, you know.
Speaker 2 (16:18):
So that is a story. Signmon, that is so much fun.
Now when when your police buddies and your your your workers,
your your co cops, they found out about it.
Speaker 3 (16:31):
What was their reaction, Uh, laugh their head off. You
know what my biggest fear was. I was waiting for
this to happen to be on some huge case, right,
some big murder trial, and they got me on there
and say, officer, why should we believe your testimony? Aren't
you the same guy that said you had bigfoot in
the freezer? You know? I was just waiting for that.
Speaker 2 (16:51):
Yeah, but he's not there anymore. So I'm cool. We're
cool now.
Speaker 3 (16:55):
We sold that freezer and we forgot that.
Speaker 1 (17:00):
We did that.
Speaker 3 (17:01):
Ever happen? No, And I was really you know, mostly
of course, worried about the chiefs because you'd be like,
you know, you'd be like, okay, one of my officers
has lost his mind, so h But I got kind
of known for doing some stunts here and there, and
people kind of got used to me doing nonsense like that.
So even today people still you know, if if you say,
and I was amazed with this, how I found the
(17:22):
Bigfoot convention? I said, Man, when you say my name
in Myrtle Beach and Bigfoot, you know, people call me like, hey,
did you hear there's a convention. I'm surprised, you know,
Uh that I wasn't called before, but but I'm so
glad I found the convention. It's gonna be it's gonna
be a great time. I'm really looking forward to it.
Speaker 2 (17:40):
I think it'll be just tremendously fun for you to
go absolutely And what I'm.
Speaker 1 (17:46):
Gonna do, I gotta say this. At the end of
the day, when I get up to do my talk,
I'm going to talk about two Bigfoot sightings that have
made their way to be f r H, the Bigfoot
rear Field Research Organization, And then I'm going to talk
about the greatest Myrtle Beach story in history. And what
(18:06):
I'm going to do for those of you that remember
to tell the truth, I'm going to say, well, the
real Simon Garth, please stand up, and then he's going
to stand up and I'm going to bring him up
to the stage. I'm just telling everybody this because it's
going to be so much fun. Look, I'm gonna say this.
(18:31):
I won't say this. I want to preface this with
with the following statement. I have seen Bigfoot. I have
had three major encounters with bigfoot, and Bigfoot in my
opinion is out there. But this is well, First of all,
it happened in Myrtle Beach. I mean, what more can
you stay? And we and we broadcast out of Myrtle Beach,
(18:52):
you know, the sun and fun capital of the world,
the golf capital of the world, the most amazing place
I could ever live. And I love it here. I'll
never move. But you know, for this story. And what's
even better is this story found me. I didn't go
find it. I heard the name Simon Garth back in
(19:13):
the day, back in the day, and I've forgotten and
when and when he told me this began tell me
this story, I said, oh my god, this is great
and I've got to tell you. I called up Rock
and Randy, who runs Channel twelve, and he said, oh
my god, that is the greatest story you could ever have.
(19:34):
I said, I don't think we can ever We never
beat this story. This is this is just the most
interesting story. And we've got the perpetrator. He's intelligent, he's fun.
He kept saying it's a hoax. But you know what's funny, people,
a lot of people didn't believe you that it was
a hoax.
Speaker 3 (19:55):
They're like, no, you've got it, and you know now
you're just trying to work a deal with other networks,
you know, the discovery. They weren't coming in the right price,
so maybe somebody else could, you know. I wish that
would have been the case, a nice bidding war. That
would have been fine with me. But uh, yeah.
Speaker 2 (20:11):
Well you know, I think I think it could probably
push this forward and say, well, you actually don't have
big Foot in the freezer anymore because you had to
make room for a lizard man.
Speaker 1 (20:21):
Sure, Oh, doctor Tray, how did you pick out my
favorite cryptid little lizard man from bishops Bill?
Speaker 2 (20:30):
A lizard man in the freezer now? And and Bigfoot after?
How when was this ten years ago? Fifteen years?
Speaker 3 (20:38):
Two thousand and one, yeah, two thousand one.
Speaker 2 (20:40):
You know, after you're in the freezer for about ten years,
it's just not the same.
Speaker 3 (20:44):
Loss as freshness.
Speaker 2 (20:45):
Yeah, fruit fresh got freezer burned.
Speaker 3 (20:48):
Absolutely. Yeah, the fruit fresh wouldn't take. We had to
get rid of them. Sorry, Now I do I do.
I saw the cover for your Your lizard Man book.
I see that Greg Ball Watson did the cover for that.
Oh oh do you know Greg bow I had him
(21:09):
almost well, he drew it for me. I he I
commissioned him for an art piece. I was gonna get
King Kong and Godzilla tattooed on my ribs, and uh,
he did amazing work, but uh the design was too
good and too big, and and I thought about the
how that would have felt on my ribs and it
really would have hurt. And I said, you know what
I'm gonna I'm gonna pass on that. So I got
(21:31):
I got Cang fighting Godzilla on my on my arm now,
But uh, it was a it was a better choice.
But yeah, it's amazing art. I gotta frame. But he's
an amazing artist. I got a lot of his work.
Speaker 2 (21:41):
Well, instead selling portions of the soul of Bigfoot, little
little jars.
Speaker 3 (21:49):
You know, my mom was my dad. My dad had
a beautiful garden and my mom used to can. We
we lived in Massachusetts and she used to can all
the time with all the garden stuff. So I've got
plenty of jars I could bring we could. You know?
Speaker 2 (22:05):
If people ask where did you find the seat of this?
Where did you find where did you find bigfoot soul?
What is Here's a question for you. Where is the
seed of the soul a bigfoot found? And is it
the same as humans?
Speaker 3 (22:20):
Oh, I'd say no, it's a whole different, whole, different animal.
There a whole different species, and our souls are not
the same.
Speaker 2 (22:33):
No, I would I would think it would be different. Now,
do you know where the seed of the soul of
humans are? No, the pancreas.
Speaker 1 (22:40):
Yeah, oh, doctor Trey, you gotta tell this story.
Speaker 2 (22:45):
I'm telling you. I'm a general surgeon.
Speaker 3 (22:47):
And I have to believe it. You guys are doctors.
Speaker 2 (22:49):
I can attest. I can attest to the fact that
the seat of the soul is the pancreas. And you
really don't go messing with the pancreas otherwise you it'll
bite you in the ass. Sure, so we as general surgeons.
If you ask any general surgeons, we will all agree
the seat of the soul is the pancreas. But I
don't know where it would be for bigfoot.
Speaker 3 (23:11):
You know, you hate to go with the obvious, the foot,
you know, you hate to do that.
Speaker 2 (23:14):
But it could be the foot.
Speaker 3 (23:16):
Yeah, it can't be the foot.
Speaker 2 (23:18):
Maybe maybe like the well, if it's paranormal, it could
be the parathyroid glands. But you're you know, parathyroids are
in the neck right top, in the bottom poles of
each of the thyroid on the thyroid poles, and sometimes
(23:40):
you can have five, sometimes you can have three, sometimes
you have two, sometimes you have six, which is why
finding parathyroid abnormalities is so difficult in surgery. And that
would be perplexing, and it's a it would be a
paranormal parathyroid. Sure, I think that has a certain ring
to it. The seat of the soul of Bigfoot would
be in the parathyroid gland.
Speaker 3 (24:01):
Let's go with it.
Speaker 2 (24:02):
I think, I think, I think that's what I go for.
Speaker 3 (24:04):
Yeah, it sounds good.
Speaker 1 (24:08):
Listen another great, another great medical result found right here on.
Speaker 3 (24:14):
Scary cast quickly discovered. Now, I in my life, I've
had and I wish I believed that I could be hypnotized.
I would love to do it because I think I
saw Bigfoot when I was a kid. But I need
to go back and I need to see what I
saw again to really interpret It was a dark shape,
(24:37):
you know, bipedal figure go walking through It was a
wintertime in upstate New York, walking through the middle of
a yard where somebody should not have been walking. Didn't
make any sense for someone to be walking through there,
all dark and all that. But I was I was
a young kid, and I was busy. I had two
puppies I was out there playing with and we were
rolling around the snow and all that stuff. But I
(24:58):
quickly looked over and I saw this figure walking through
my mind at the time was to tell me, well,
I was a hunter or something like that. But remembering back,
it was all dark, and it was there was trails
to the left or the right where you should normally
have been walking if you were going back to hunt
in the woods, but it walked right through the middle
(25:20):
of the woods, so it didn't really make sense. And
it was across my grandparents' property, so I was like, wait,
who are you to be traps and across there? But
I was also tracked. One time I was in in Massachusetts.
I was at the top of this mountain they called
a mountain. There was only about a thousand feet up
and I was hanging out with my brothers and they
had their girlfriends and I was being a little brother
passed and they told me to hit the bricks. You know,
(25:42):
they won their alone time with the girls. So I
had to walk back home, which was about a mile
down to the base of the mountain, and it was
a pretty good road. It wasn't like a little trail,
but something tracked me all the way. You could hear
it walking in the woods, and I'm thinking, you know,
as an adult later on, knowing more things about animals,
I said, well, it's not a bear. It's nothing that
(26:03):
wanted to attack me, because it would have attacked me.
There was plenty of times where I would run and stop.
I'd walk fast and stop and listen, but it never
revealed itself. But it was just out of sight in
the woods and tracked me that whole mile. And when
I remember seeing the edge of that road to where
the trail finally meets the real pavement, man lit up.
(26:25):
I flew. I've never run so fast in my life
that I so whatever it is didn't have that response
to go get me and eat me. Something big and
loud tracked me all through the woods. So I've had
maybe two encounters, but I don't know. I can't say
for sure. I would like to think that that's what
it was, because that's just great. But I can tell
(26:48):
you this, as a police officer for twenty years, I
have had absolutely seen some UFOs over Myrtle Beach. I
worked beach patrol most of my career, and you see
a lot of stuff out there over the ocean. Just
some of it makes sense, some of it doesn't. And
I had a couple of encounters out there that just
they don't. You can't explain them. You just really can't.
(27:12):
Some real stuff.
Speaker 2 (27:12):
But you know, we listened to lots of people claiming
to see this or that, and those statements ring true
with authenticity because you didn't over embellis. You just said
what you saw, and it's not enough to be definitive.
But the tracking of the woods behavior, that's a pretty
common thing with Bigfoot, And.
Speaker 3 (27:34):
Oh really didn't I didn't know that?
Speaker 2 (27:35):
Yep, yep. They evidently they have a pretty good sense
of humor and they don't follow people. Uh. And as
far as seeing a figure go across, who knows. But
it's the kind of thing that that we hear about
and people aren't absolutely sure. But the height of the
of the thing that's the give abnormally tall, so could
(28:01):
have been could have been.
Speaker 3 (28:03):
Well as far as the tracking thing, you know, So
now my inner child uh is scared to death now
now that you're confirming that was probably Bigfoot. Uh yeah, really,
when I relived those memories, I'll be a little bit
more scared now. But yes, I've seen some weird stuff,
but with the with the eBay thing, you know, it
had nothing to do with those. And I've been a
(28:25):
fan of bigfoot and paranormal stuff my whole life, and
it's just it's just awesome the way that worked out.
But you could not have created that from scratch. You know,
if you tried to launch that, you wouldn't have just
wouldn't have took off.
Speaker 2 (28:39):
So that's that's just a really great and funny, very
funny story.
Speaker 3 (28:45):
Well, so so now what I'm afraid of right is
now I've I've taken two trips around the country and
my jeep once I retired, and I've gone into big
what I call Bigfoot country. Now. You know, from what
we understand, bigfoot can be found just about anywhere, you know, really,
but when you get out to the Pacific Northwest, you
really and you start looking around and you get out
there in the woods, you go, oh, yeah, this is
(29:08):
Bigfoot country. And I went out to uh, I got this,
I took one off. Maybe I'll bring it with me
and I'll throw it to somebody. Willow Creek, which is
kind of close to the Patterson film where they where
they filmed the Patterson film. In reality, it's about two hours,
but they make you feel like it's right down the road,
but it's kind of neat the movie they did one.
(29:28):
Have you guys seen it Willow Creek? Have you seen
that one?
Speaker 1 (29:32):
And I haven't docs Trey, have you seen Willow Creek?
Speaker 2 (29:35):
No?
Speaker 3 (29:36):
No, this this will blow your mind because it blew
my mind. So those movie is called Willow Creek and
it was directed by bobcat Goldways remember that guy with
the voice that crazy, you know, So he did it
and it's kind of like a Blair Witch format where
it's done by the video cameras the whole time. And
(29:57):
they go up to Willow Creek and it's this couple
and they're film and there they want to go see
where the Patterson film took place, and they go hike
up into the area, but they go all through town
but the town. Here's the thing when you go out
if I don't know if you guys have been out
there or not, but when you go out to the
Oregon and in California, Northern California and Washington State, you
(30:18):
get kind of sick of seeing Bigfoot stuff because it's everywhere,
you know, like Bigfoot Coffee, big Foot waffle house, Bigfoot this.
But they did have on the They had an Ace
Hardware in town at Willow Creek and it had Bigfoot
beautiful paintings on along the side of the building, these
beautiful murals of Bigfoot helping people build stuff. You know,
(30:39):
like he's over there with the wheelbarrow and stuff and
he's got like a you know, apron on the hammers.
It was just really is awesome. You know. It's across
from the big Foot Steakhouse down the street from the
Bigfoot Motel where they have a Bigfoot cage in the back.
They've built one, and there's a Bigfoot museum in town
and it's it's super cool with great wood carvings of
these huge you know, big sasquatch things. But my favorite
(31:03):
place and it's not there anymore. I looked it up
because I wanted to see it again, was the Early
Bird Cafe. And all they sold in this place is
Ammo and burgers. Cheeseburgers. That's it, cheezburgers and Ammo. It's like,
if you want to go hunt Bigfoot, load up, get
a good meal, get your AMMO and get out there.
It's closed down now, but in the movie the couple
(31:24):
go there. But it's really cool that the big Foot
Burger was two huge patties. I mean, I'm a big dude,
but even I had a hard time finishing it. But
it's two patties on this bread that's the shape of
a big foot. I don't know how they make it,
but it's really neat. It's a foot and is amazing.
But it's a film that's worth checking out, and it's
it's scary, but it's like a it's a it's got
(31:45):
a real blair Witch feel to it and all that.
So but yeah, once you get out there in that
Pacific Northwest, you're like, oh yeah, Bigfoot's here. He's hiding
here somewhere, no no question about it.
Speaker 2 (31:57):
That's great.
Speaker 1 (31:58):
Yeah, that's so interesting. Well, Simon, this has been a
wonderful story. It's it's really got some humanity to it.
It's a lot of fun. We appreciate you coming on
our show tonight and telling your story, which was listed
(32:19):
as one of the top five hoaxes of two thousand
and one. Now you will be live time at the

from nine am to about five thirty pm. And you
will be there, and I'm gonna get you up and

(32:41):
what I call one of the most unique stories I've
ever heard. And I can't believe that you were drawn
to give me a call that morning and I looked
at that number, I said, now four or five seven
or four seven nine, Yeah, I better get it. And
then I got Marketer and it absolutely changed my life.

doctor John, it's nice to meet you. And the first
(34:31):
thing I said was, Randy, I'd had you on my
show three years ago on Scary Cast. Don't you dare
say nice to meet you. It's more like good to
see you again, I hope. He started laughing, and that's
the conversation that started our excursion to Channel twelve TV network.
