It's seven o'clock on a Monday afternoon, so you know
what time it is. It is time for you a
weekly episode of SCV Chat. Before it gets started, please
remember the views opinions expressing this broadcast, not necessarily the
views of opinions of the SUV. It's geez Nor Division
Brigade Camps. There's the decideraries. How is everybody doing in
Dixie Line tonight? We have a good show for you

(03:42):
planned as always.

Speaker 4 (03:45):
Yeah, I really hate it when you do that. Do what.

Speaker 6 (03:50):
The Dixie Land? That's kind of my trademark when I'm
doing the intro. I love you too. By the way, Uh,
before we get started, I was gonna mess with GCB
and I got some new additions to my office. So
we're gonna start the show showing that off Audrey is here.
She's ready. If you know me, you know I'm a

(04:13):
huge Indiana Jones fan, so I got this Indiana Jones
replica artifact right here.

Speaker 4 (04:18):
So that's cool.

Speaker 6 (04:19):
I'm enjoying that that is being put in what would
seem to be almost as safe in my office. I
got an Indiana Jones replica journal, and these are all
very lovely additions to my office. Plus this very expensive
piece of crap. It is very very expensive. Let me

(04:40):
see if I can grab it, I can bring it
over here. Might not be able to all right, ever,
go alright, I got this Indiana Jones replica gold globe.

Speaker 4 (04:55):
Oh something just clicked. That ain't good.

Speaker 6 (04:59):
Yeah, we're growing the moose chat office, if you will,
getting it going. And I have never seen that arm before.
That is that is the man that really doesn't look good.

Speaker 7 (05:16):
Yeah, I'm I'm working on working on the thing.

Speaker 4 (05:22):
That scared me though.

Speaker 6 (05:24):
Oh gosh, but uh yeah, so yeah, I do need
a moose or two. Checking in with past Commander in
Chief Paul Gramlin Jr. The most sharp dressed man in
the SCV, Yeah, I do need to get a moose.
I am getting too Cheetah pets one is a.

Speaker 4 (05:42):
Chea chea chia chia. You just work on your thing.

Speaker 6 (05:49):
So I'm getting I'm getting too Chia Pets. One is
Jason bosher thing. I'm looking forward to that, and one
is a surprise again. Uh, it is one of my
favorite franchises.

Speaker 8 (06:10):
Uh.

Speaker 6 (06:11):
So you have a couple to pick from, and I'm
gonna get that and they're both it's it is going
to get so I'm gonna have to Cheeta Pet Chia
Pets next to Audrey and we're gonna really liven up
this office. Uh.

Speaker 4 (06:26):
But it is really good to see y'all.

Speaker 6 (06:29):
I'm getting everything still ready for the Missive Division reunion. Uh.
That is this weekend. It is always the weekend after
Jefferson Davis's birthday. Goodbye.

Speaker 4 (06:41):
And you.

Speaker 6 (06:47):
Look like you've been working on this thing since five.
You look just done inside.

Speaker 7 (06:55):
I'm I'm I'm about to take a certain HP computer
outside and grab my lovely clock and empty rounds into it.

Speaker 6 (07:11):
Fair Yeah but yeah, no, no, yes, Uh, the Jason
themed chia pet you can probably guess what it is.

Speaker 2 (07:22):
Uh.

Speaker 6 (07:22):
And we actually have the past commander in chief right here,
and I'm going to glue a picture of his face
on top of it and that will be a remembrance
of uh jabo And compared to popular opinion, I loved
working with Jabo. I think he liked working with me.

(07:44):
I don't know. No, I think he hated it. I
think he's happy that he doesn't have to anymore. But
I still, I still, I still work with him.

Speaker 7 (07:55):
On this, not not jokes about that.

Speaker 4 (07:57):
This month.

Speaker 6 (08:01):
We could. I think it'd be a fun episode. Not
a therapist in here.

Speaker 7 (08:06):
Yeah, so it may work, it may not work. I
don't know if it's trying to launch.

Speaker 6 (08:13):
Andrew, I have not checked the email this week.

Speaker 9 (08:16):
I have been.

Speaker 6 (08:19):
Doing a lot of stuff that I didn't realize I
had to do. So I have three big events back
to back to back. I have the division reunion, I
have National Reunion, and then my camp has our biggest
event of the year in July, and so I have
not realized how much stuff my poor father has been

(08:39):
doing over the years to get ready for that. So
I have been in multiple meetings today and sending out
emails all day for that, and of course getting everything
at my farm ready for the division reunion because I'll
be leaving.

Speaker 7 (08:55):
Yeah, Andrew, if you're talking about the stuff that you
put in the patrinon chat, we really don't.

Speaker 6 (09:05):
I mean we check it about once a week. That
it's not a way to, not the way to to
to get stuff to us, Like we can't even download that.

Speaker 4 (09:15):
Yeah, uh off of there. No.

Speaker 6 (09:19):
If you need to contact us, there are multiple ways.
But if you need to send in pictures for a
look around, or if you want to contact us with
a decent chance of us seeing it not once a week,
then yes, Uh email us at SUV Youth Outreach at
gmail dot com.

Speaker 2 (09:35):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (09:35):
My camp event.

Speaker 6 (09:37):
My camp has what we call our annual event, which
is like how my dad has described it as a
mini reunion. It's our camp's biggest event of the year.
It is the Nathan Bedford Forrest Birthday Cell of Corporation
and Recruitment Barbecue. It's when we kind of have elections,
when we have awards presentated, cake, barbecue present I'll stand

(10:02):
by that presentated and we try to usually have a
big guest. One year we had the Mississippi Division Commander,
the newly elected Mississippi Division Commander if I remember correctly,
you do, uh, And he presented a lot of stuff
that year and kind of just a big time to

(10:24):
get camp members we haven't seen a while, talk, contact them,
bring them to the meeting.

Speaker 4 (10:30):
Stuff like that. It's a very cool event.

Speaker 6 (10:32):
I enjoyed every year, kind of a we do a
bit of business at the beginning, and then the rest
of the day is just kind of good old fashion fun.
We've had camp members start singing before, and they're actually
good singers and play the guitar before, so we've had
live entertainment at this event. It is one of my favorite.

(10:52):
I look forward to it every second week of July.
Thank you, Thank you, Carl, the the Lovely Army of
Tennessee Commander Carl Jones, I would love award awartations are presented.

(11:14):
Ortations are yeah.

Speaker 4 (11:19):
But I hope that answers your question. Charles, good to
see you.

Speaker 6 (11:22):
By the way, Moose never lets the English get in
his way. Never, I will never let the British.

Speaker 7 (11:29):
Win, especially when he says English as in the language
you I don't know were born.

Speaker 6 (11:36):
Well, you weren't born speaking it, but uh, I don't
know if I'm speaking it right now. I know I'm
not speaking Spanish.

Speaker 4 (11:50):
Thank God for that. No, you know, I blast on
h BLA Eastpola. Well, I don't think it's gonna work.

Speaker 6 (12:01):
I'm comfortable with being a cheeta pet. It was interesting, interesting, right, chia,
pet chia, pet chia, pet chiapet All right, now, real quick,
I did not say no when you appointed me. I

(12:22):
was joking about something I was doing at the moment.
I think I made it perfectly clear that I was
was the way you wanted me to boars.

Speaker 4 (12:35):
I was there. He told you.

Speaker 6 (12:36):
No, no, no, no no no no. I I don't
recall ever being asked to be aide to camp and
saying no, I would. I loved being your aide de camp. Uh.
And I was very confused when I wasn't given orders.
So I thought that, you know, because JPO said he
wanted me to be as aide camp and I was like, okay, great.

(12:58):
I don't recall ever saying no.

Speaker 4 (13:00):
Uh.

Speaker 6 (13:00):
If it was that night in Georgia, after the the
night the lights went out in Georgia. Yeah, the nights
and the lights went out in Georgia.

Speaker 7 (13:11):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (13:12):
Man, that escollected quickly. It's a song.

Speaker 2 (13:20):
I know.

Speaker 6 (13:22):
I can't remember if I said no or not. I
just know you need to not check your trust, your
soul to it back with Southern lawyer because the judge
of the town has boodstained on his hands. Great, Uh,
what are we about Uh, this is SCV chat. We

(13:42):
are Southern Entertainment. I like to call it. We are
your one stop shop for all Southern programming and u
s CV news.

Speaker 4 (13:56):
But yeah, no.

Speaker 6 (13:56):
So my camp made two awards and so we'll be
presenting them this year along with a couple other things.
So I'm looking forward to it. It's good to see everybody.

Speaker 4 (14:10):
For those that.

Speaker 7 (14:11):
Are wondering why I'm in such a terrible mood.

Speaker 6 (14:15):
No, I'm getting it. So every time I get into
my office, do SEV work. I have the motto what
would a t rex do? And that is how I
will continue that work.

Speaker 7 (14:29):
What he means is when you say is remember, and
since usually for somebody who's passed away, so he didn't
know that he had died.

Speaker 6 (14:37):
I don't recall saying in remembrance he did well. In
honor of Jabo, I will have a chia up pet
and another chia pet, but I will glue Jason's face
on his.

Speaker 4 (14:55):
This has been hooked on phonics with moose Hey.

Speaker 7 (15:01):
So for those that I'll go ahead and tell y'all
what what what we were going to try to do,
But it doesn't look like it's ever gonna work.

Speaker 4 (15:09):
So yeah, yeah, well no, it's just it's it's the
old computer that it's on. It's not gonna let it work.

Speaker 6 (15:18):
So but uh, if you're not, I I think I
can figure it out if given enough time.

Speaker 7 (15:24):
Well, what I'm gonna try to do is actually download
or screen recording software and just.

Speaker 4 (15:31):
Do it that way.

Speaker 7 (15:32):
Yeah. So there was a game that came out a
couple of years ago called Civil War Ultimate General or
Ultimate General Civil War spending that spending that word out
or that turnout, and it's essentially, uh, you get to
take control of an army, you get to build your

(15:53):
own general, take control of an army, and uh, you know,
fight battles. And I'm in the middle of I've had
it a couple of years ago and uh what was
testing to see if it would even work.

Speaker 4 (16:11):
Still it does.

Speaker 7 (16:14):
So yeah, we're, uh, we're gonna start doing a recorded
series of a campaign, the Campaign of Cooper C.

Speaker 4 (16:23):
Cooper.

Speaker 7 (16:26):
So the uh for those that are on Patreon, Uh,
within the next couple of days, you will see a
poll come out. You actually be on this game. You
get to create your own general, uh and this one,
of course will be Cooper C. Cooper, and you get
to command, the command the soldottans that are soldiers that

(16:51):
are with it. So like, for example, I'll pull up
this one picture of I can get it to add
that's the sad thing. I can get it to out
of this computer or not this one. So you literally
get to pick like whether you're a tactician, strategist, logitician,
or whatever, and those get to those.

Speaker 4 (17:12):
Set who you.

Speaker 7 (17:13):
Are essentially going into game.

Speaker 6 (17:16):
So we'll be doing that. Like I said, I'm I'm
trying to pull it up on this, but.

Speaker 4 (17:22):
I'm getting the blue screen of death.

Speaker 6 (17:25):
Uh so it's not gonna let me do it, so
that kind of ticks me off.

Speaker 4 (17:32):
So it looks like that it'll just be recorded and
put on there. Uh so stop sharing and go ahead
and close out everything on the other computer.

Speaker 7 (17:44):
Sure we apologize, Yeah, we apologize. Join our Patreon so
I can get a better computer that can handle a
stream yard and this. At the same time, I think
I have an idea I'll tell you about after.

Speaker 6 (18:01):
Well, I'm still gonna record it and upload it on
the page. Yeah, so we actually we can do a
delayed live.

Speaker 4 (18:12):
Uh we would have to.

Speaker 6 (18:13):
Record the episode a bit in advance, but it's still
be live for everybody else. Yeah, I'm just thinking there's
a software that a lot of streamers usually on Twitch.

Speaker 4 (18:27):
I have that.

Speaker 6 (18:28):
Yeah, it's like XPO or something like that, and just
you know, record record that doing it that way. Tomorrow
is definitely an important day.

Speaker 4 (18:41):
It is.

Speaker 7 (18:41):
Tomorrow is the third of June. Another sleepy Dusty Dell.
Today it's the day that Billy Joe mccowistro jumped off
the tally hatch you bridge. It's also President OF's birthday.

Speaker 6 (18:54):
Yeah, and uh, we had a great day at Beauvoir
Saturday celebrating let me pop a refresh all right, Yeah,
I'll see you in a second. But Jabo, I just
want to say, I don't recall any of this. I
still think you're lying. But yes, we did celebrate Jefferson
Davis's birthday this Saturday. We had cake movie.

Speaker 4 (19:17):
You are apostrophiari what? Why? Oh you are apostrophe?

Speaker 2 (19:23):
All right?

Speaker 4 (19:23):
Why owe you apostrophe?

Speaker 9 (19:24):
Or h gotta.

Speaker 4 (19:39):
Keep you honest?

Speaker 6 (19:44):
The bad thing is that I have grammarly auto put
into my typing. Hey, Susie, SUSI let me borrow about
let me borrow six grand? Yeah? Can I borrow some too?
Just just a small amount. I'll pay it back in fifteen years.

Speaker 4 (20:04):
No, you won't. That's hurt.

Speaker 7 (20:10):
It will if it will, maybe twenty not fifteen twenty.

Speaker 6 (20:15):
Do you think you would take me twenty years to
put aside? Six grand?

Speaker 7 (20:19):
Hey Jason, we had a pretty good convoy rock it
through the night. Damn that's strike two Victor.

Speaker 4 (20:37):
Just want to delete that comment?

Speaker 6 (20:42):
Yeah, and and yeah, the really bad one on on
Xbox three six The thing is Ultimate General is a
really really great game.

Speaker 7 (20:52):
You can actually, I mean why, I wish, wish, wish,
wish you could pull up a video of it. But
you you create your own units and you get to pick, like,
you know, do you want this one armed with Austrian Lorenzes?
Do you want this cavalry unit armed with lit Max?
Do you want uh, this artillery unit armed Napoleon's or

(21:13):
three or ten inch order or three inch ordnance rifles
or you know, ten pound parrots? You know all that
good stuff. So you you get there, there's a lot
of a lot of.

Speaker 8 (21:26):
Where do you go?

Speaker 6 (21:29):
Hi?

Speaker 4 (21:29):
Well, what what e scaring me?

Speaker 10 (21:31):
There?

Speaker 4 (21:36):
So? Yeah, it's you. You get a lot of.

Speaker 6 (21:38):
A lot of options in there, and I hate that
we could not get that working. Yeah, no, I wish
I would have sold my computer now, so like I
could have done it if I didn't buy the computer

(22:01):
I bought. I bought this in very nice computer for
chat and work. Problem is is it doesn't play games,
no games whatsoever. So I couldn't even I couldn't even
download it. I actually got a warning that my computer
was too advanced, which is the first time that's happened.

(22:21):
But yes, so, uh we will we will fix that. Yeah,
it just may not be a live, live one.

Speaker 4 (22:35):
So yeah, similar to war rights.

Speaker 7 (22:38):
Yeah, well no, no it's not.

Speaker 4 (22:40):
It's not similar to war rights at all.

Speaker 7 (22:42):
It's more like Empire total war or Empire Napoleonic. Actually,
instead of controlling and war of rights as a first
person shooter, this is more of tactical real time strategy
versus the AI. So you, like I said, you get
to your you're actually creating brigades, higher, higher level army stuff. So,

(23:07):
like you know, Matt Atkinson, I love his analogy that
he uses when he's explained to the breakdown of the armies.
He describes the army as like a piece of poet
and when you cut it up, you get the corps,
and we cut it up you get the divisions, and
then when you cut it up some more, you get
the brigades. So you actually get to command on for
the most part as a depending on like like no

(23:29):
spoiler alert, but like First Manasses, you have your core
that you've created this far into the battle or this
far into the campaign, and you command that corps for
the first half of the game, and then all of
a sudden reinforcements arise, so bore guards men come on
the field. So then you take overall commands. You have

(23:50):
your cores and that core. Essentially we'll be core. First
Man Ass is not a good example about that, of course,
and then you know John's course or Johnston's course come
up and you get to control all that.

Speaker 6 (24:04):
So yeah, so it looks like we're going to uh
play trivia. Yeah, we still got about thirty minutes to
fill in here. Let's see it. I from Peggy heel.

Speaker 8 (24:30):
Uh.

Speaker 6 (24:30):
Carl said his computer came with pong. Yeah.

Speaker 7 (24:34):
Uh, be careful with that, James. You know, last time
I heard somebody went in through that game and put
a death switch on it. So and Moose is gone.

Speaker 6 (24:53):
Sorry, I was fixing something with our website. Hey, you
can watch on the website now, Sorry about that.

Speaker 7 (25:04):
Armor three is a good game, all right, So you
ready this one. This doesn't this doesn't count. This doesn't count.
We're not gonna have strict rules on it and stuff
like that.

Speaker 4 (25:18):
Good.

Speaker 6 (25:20):
Yeah, so this will be uh, this will be, you know,
just just a fun little oh night.

Speaker 4 (25:29):
My globe also came with this little airplane.

Speaker 2 (25:32):
Mm hmm.

Speaker 6 (25:32):
But but all right, that is my favorite franchise. And
when I was babysitting last week, I watched all five
films at least three times because now the kids also
love the films. But real quick, before we do anything else,
I do have something. Let's see here there it is

(25:57):
all right, let's just look at.

Speaker 7 (26:00):
Thish uh chuck back. I'm looking at our email right now,
and I don't see anything from you. Oh wait, I

(26:21):
got the flight, I got it, got it uploaded. Yeah,
events tomorrow.

Speaker 6 (26:35):
Oh do you want to talk about the church one
more time before we jump into everything. We kind of
have an unprecedent amount of free time.

Speaker 7 (26:44):
Yeah really uh yeah, so uh, just as a reminder
of SCV National Reunion is coming up here in a
couple of weeks, Register register, register if you have not,
should be a pretty good time because we don't have
that much business to attend to the election year. There's
only one thing we have to vote on and besides

(27:04):
the budget. Uh so it should be a lot of
free time to hang out with your compatriots. And again
on Thursday night, c Z Thursday. It is Thursday. Uh,
Thursday night, we have the two hundredth episode of it.

Speaker 6 (27:19):
Oh is that confirmed? Well, we're doing it Thursday, whether
we do it in the main ballroom or not, as
you know, something else. Uh but Thursday. We have reminding
her that because she kept getting confused thinking we were
doing it Friday. Friday is something else. M. Yeah, you're welcome,
but real quick. Uh uh no, get down. This is

(27:44):
our lovely website scv chat dot com. If you scroll
down past the welcome where I look like I'm just mad.

Speaker 4 (27:50):
About life and we need to redo that video, you have.

Speaker 6 (27:55):
Our special video of the month. We have too this
month that I have picked. It is two of our
short videos that we recently produced, and by we I
mean Connor.

Speaker 7 (28:06):
So make sure it's the one that will be coming
out this week.

Speaker 6 (28:09):
So next week, oh perfect, we have July's special video
of the month already picked out then, so please go
support these two videos, share them out and join our
patreons so we can make more and promote them so
they can get to more people, because that helps us
all out. Also, if you want to get real confusing,

(28:31):
you can hit episodes live. If you're having trouble finding us,
while you can watch us live.

Speaker 7 (28:38):
It's easier just to subscribe to our YouTube channel.

Speaker 6 (28:40):
Much easier to describe to our YouTube channel. But this
can also take you to our YouTube channel and hit
the support us tab. There's our Patreon, there's our online store,
and you only.

Speaker 7 (28:53):
Have a couple of weeks later to get your Mousse
Hunt twenty twenty five t Shirt's Victor, we're talking to you.
Get your Moose Hunt T shirt. You get I believe
it is five free shots at moose at the Moose
Hunt that is on Saturday or Friday evening before the
oratory contest.

Speaker 6 (29:13):
I can't wait. I have a I think I'm excited
about the oratory this year.

Speaker 7 (29:19):
Yeah, because you're not in it?

Speaker 6 (29:21):
Yeah?

Speaker 7 (29:22):
Oh wow, yeah good that means I'm not.

Speaker 6 (29:26):
No, I've volunteered actually this year.

Speaker 4 (29:30):
Wow that there won't be many years.

Speaker 6 (29:33):
I'll volunteer for it, So I'm gonna go ahead and
do a couple. I think I'm gonna win it prediction.

Speaker 2 (29:38):
Now.

Speaker 4 (29:40):
I love your enthusiasm. That's all I have. I've never
wanted anything.

Speaker 7 (29:48):
But anyway, get those T shirts. That's one way to
support us. You can also join our patreon Chuck, can
I help judge again or keep time anyway. Mississippi just
completed Confederate Heritage Month, where our Confederate Heritage Day is
in April, but other states celebrate at a different time.
A lot of states, like our neighbors to the west, Louisiana,

(30:11):
they have Confederate Memorial Day on June third, which is
President Davis's birthday tomorrow. The Louisiana Confederate Memorial Day celebration Tuesday,
June third, twenty twenty five at Historic Greenwood Cemetery at
five pm. That is at one thirty East Stone East
Stoner Avenue in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Speaker 6 (30:31):
All are invited. All groups may bring a wreath which
can be placed at the monument. Please bring multiple individual
flowers to be placed on his floor tribute on each
veteran's grave, and I'm sure that you'll also want to
bring a chair.

Speaker 4 (30:51):
Who's keynote?

Speaker 8 (30:52):
And Chuck?

Speaker 7 (30:55):
While we wait on Chuck to answer, Who's that? I
have a question for you, Moose, what is the question?
You ready to play trivia?

Speaker 4 (31:05):
Sure? All right?

Speaker 7 (31:12):
In which state was Jefferson Davis born? Oh, Chuck's keynoting?
So definitely bring a chair?

Speaker 6 (31:17):
Uh am I answering it or no? It is open
to the chat.

Speaker 7 (31:21):
It is open to everybody, Sandy, doctor, Sandy Metrim, you
can play this time because it is not for anything.
It is just for you know, fun.

Speaker 6 (31:30):
I have the answer, so I'm going to type it in.
Mine's going to be controversial, all right. I topped mine
end before I even looked at the other ones.

Speaker 4 (31:51):
Look at me?

Speaker 6 (31:52):
Go all right while we're while we're late waiting on that,
I do have something.

Speaker 4 (32:03):
I forgot to do.

Speaker 6 (32:04):
And I do apologize at the for not mentioning at
the beginning of the show the.

Speaker 7 (32:08):
Computer thing had me a little bit messed up. For
those that did not hear the newser see it on
our Facebook post. The Alabama Division today suffered a great loss.
SCV chat even suffered a great loss. Doug Barrett, Alabama
division commander, passed away yesterday and it's a very, very

(32:30):
sad thing.

Speaker 4 (32:31):
I was.

Speaker 7 (32:32):
I've known Doug for years. Harrison is known for years.
He has been a commenter on this show multiple times.
He's been a member of our patroon. I was actually
there last year when Doug was elected to Division Commander,
and we just saw him at the Alabama Heritage Conference
earlier this month. Carl Jones, our AOT commander, asked me

(32:55):
to read this if y'all don't mind, but the Army
of Tennessee SCV mourns the loss of Alabama Division Commander
Doug Barrett. Doug was a devoted husband and father, a
proud veteran of the second Battalion, seventy fifth United Are
United States Army Rangers, and a true son of Dixie.
It was my honor to have served with him for

(33:15):
several years in the Alabama Division Executive Council, and Doug
served with honesty, integrity, and fairness and kept the best
interest of the organization and its members always at heart.
He had a warm disposition about him and was a
man that was that all truly respected and enjoyed being around.
I know I'm joined by all who knew him and
saying we will greatly.

Speaker 4 (33:36):
Miss he will excuse me, he will be greatly.

Speaker 7 (33:39):
Missed, and our organization has an unfillable void created his absence.
Rest in peace, compatriot and friend, and I could not
have said it any better. So, yeah, Doug, Doug was.
Doug was a great, great guy.

Speaker 4 (33:57):
And will be missed.

Speaker 6 (33:58):
And of course our prayer with his family as well
as his friends and OURCHA patriots over in the Alabama Division,
especially as they go into division reunion this upcoming weekend.
He was, He was a great man and h I
considered a great friend. And uh he served the SUV

(34:20):
with a lot of honor and did a great phenomenal
job in every position I knew him when he served
in A great man.

Speaker 4 (34:29):
I'm gonna miss him.

Speaker 6 (34:32):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (34:33):
I can't honestly believe it's still yeah it Uh.

Speaker 7 (34:37):
It came as a real shock for us, uh this
afternoon when we learned about it.

Speaker 4 (34:41):
But y'all just keep y y'all keep.

Speaker 6 (34:44):
Alabama and the Bard family in else prayers if you
don't mind, please.

Speaker 4 (34:50):
Yeah.

Speaker 9 (34:51):
Uh.

Speaker 6 (34:52):
Anyway, he was born in Kentucky. Presid Davis was born
in Kentucky.

Speaker 4 (34:58):
All right, let me put my thanks rum. Look at you.

Speaker 6 (35:06):
Yeah, I actually need one that won't that won't happen often.

Speaker 7 (35:17):
What role did Jefferson Davis play in the Eggnog riot
in eighteen twenty six. Uh, yeah, that's a tough one

(35:45):
because we really need to do that. Uh do do
an episode on that getting closer to uh uh, getting
closer to Christmas to try to h I'm gonna give

(36:06):
it a couple more seconds.

Speaker 6 (36:07):
Uh he was, he was interesting, Yeah, he was.

Speaker 7 (36:11):
He was, all right, that that's thirty seconds.

Speaker 6 (36:15):
He was.

Speaker 4 (36:15):
He was one of the ringleaders of that. Uh.

Speaker 7 (36:17):
So you know, West Point was a dry campus, dry
campus back back in the day. Uh, and the students would.

Speaker 4 (36:29):
Often sneak off to one of the many taverns.

Speaker 7 (36:34):
Actually, no, at first it was a it was a
it was a wet campus or semi wet campus. It
was part of the military rations for them to receive
some type of alcohol and the commandant took it away,
and in revolt, they decided that they would sneak off
campus and get you know, copious amounts of liquor and
you know, college guys being college guys, uh, on Christmas

(36:57):
or around Christmas, got drunk and uh. The first part
of the riot, the first party got settled down, and
Davis was arrested and to find quarters, and then the
rest of the you know, after that point, the rest
of the revelers decided to get completely drunk and attacked
a sergeant that was on post and held one of

(37:18):
the I don't think it was the it wasn't the commandant,
but he was on up there in the chain of command,
and you know, held him hostage. And yeah, it was
a very very fun uh fun interesting thing to read
about President Davis, very interesting reading.

Speaker 4 (37:39):
Just look it up.

Speaker 7 (37:46):
All right, So I'm gonna go back in order. But
how many siblings did Jefferson Davis have?

Speaker 10 (37:56):
Hm?

Speaker 4 (37:56):
Hm m hm.

Speaker 7 (38:03):
You're googling, aren't you.

Speaker 6 (38:05):
No, I'm actually uh working on uh something for the website,
thank you very much. Uh, We're gonna go whole siblings there,
chu well and in total.

Speaker 2 (38:46):
Mhm h m hm.

Speaker 4 (39:02):
All right, can I give it up? In five four
three two.

Speaker 7 (39:08):
Stato nine nine siblings. In fact, he was the last.
He was the youngest of nine. And uh he uh
was named Phineas because his daddy said he was finished
having cheering.

Speaker 6 (39:26):
Just such a great fact and the only reason I
know how much it is because of Jefferson Davis's middle night. Yeah,
because I remember his dad being like a lot of kids,
he was the youngest was he was the youngest of
ten children, so nine siblings. But but but what was
the name of the college that Jefferson Davis attended around

(39:49):
eighteen eighteen?

Speaker 4 (39:52):
That's a good one. That's a there you go.

Speaker 2 (39:59):
Come.

Speaker 6 (40:08):
I'm trying to get a list of the staff that
was there at that time, because there is a family
website that claims one of my ancestors was a professor
there at that time. A question was, what was the
name of the college Jefferson Davis attended in eighteen eighteen? Yeah,

(40:33):
In fact, his less the Mdah, there's a hint for you, missy.
Department of Archives in History has painted over it. There's
actually a spot where he signed and graffitied on the wall.

Speaker 4 (40:53):
That's interesting.

Speaker 6 (41:00):
Oh what I just cooped at the chat?

Speaker 7 (41:09):
Oh well, all I can say is the answer may
or may not be in there. There's a fifty to
fifty chance that it's in there, and there's a fifty
percent chance that's not in there.

Speaker 9 (41:33):
Oop.

Speaker 4 (41:35):
I didn't start the time.

Speaker 8 (41:37):
Yeah, ah, man.

Speaker 4 (41:51):
Do you think you know Moose?

Speaker 6 (41:53):
I know I just cheated to know, and it makes
me angry because I knew it. All right, I'm gonna
go ahead and hit it.

Speaker 8 (42:05):
There.

Speaker 7 (42:07):
It was Jefferson College is what we're looking for. He
did at attend Transylvania. But you know, at this point,
I was looking at Jefferson College, Jefferson Military College, and
that's just well technically Washington, Mississippi. It is where if
you've ever seen the North in the South, where.

Speaker 6 (42:24):
The or Remain meets Elkana bent and I was used
as the set for West Point from the sovereign set
of Joja from the Southern Stadium. All right, this one,
we will give you thirty seconds on because it should
be easy. In what year did Jefferson Davis graduate from?
What's point?

Speaker 4 (42:58):
I believe in allio?

Speaker 6 (43:12):
Good try chuck back, wrong, but good try? Can we
count that?

Speaker 4 (43:19):
No?

Speaker 6 (43:20):
Oh, come on, it's not wrong.

Speaker 4 (43:26):
I mean it's not.

Speaker 7 (43:30):
Eighteen twenty eight. All right, Moving on a little bit
further in his life as a Second League tenant, during
which conflict Jefferson Davis serve as a calvaryman with the
first US Dragoon Regiment.

Speaker 6 (43:49):
Okay, I'm conflict. Did Jefferson Davis serve as a calvaryman
with the first Dragoon Regiment. It was shortly after he graduated.
In fact, he was uh, I don't think he. I
can't remember if he captured him or if he was

(44:10):
just part of the guard detail for the uh particular.

Speaker 4 (44:17):
Man the war was named after.

Speaker 10 (44:24):
H Uh do you know Moose?

Speaker 6 (44:48):
Never Moose has not known the past two of them? Oh,
and stop. That would be the Blackhawk War. He captured

(45:16):
and then black Uh. Then I scored in Blackie back east. Yeah,
we learned that at the First White House or we
saw uh something that black Hawk had made jeff Davis.
That's at the First White House this past year. All right,
what regiment to Jefferson Davis command during the Mexican American War.

(45:41):
If you don't know this one moves. I know this
one simply because I have been researching them recently.

Speaker 4 (45:50):
I did not spill that right shocker, am h.

Speaker 6 (46:04):
Tell me when you're about to be out of time
and I'll postmine. By the way, SCV chat commenting is me,
it's not guaranteed to be the right answer, nor spoke correctly,
are spelled correctly, which would be a real tragedy on

(46:24):
this one, it would be a bad tragedy.

Speaker 4 (46:32):
I would have to just leave.

Speaker 6 (46:34):
I don't know if I'd come back, that would probably
be right.

Speaker 7 (46:38):
Go ahead, post your post, your post, your answer moves.

Speaker 6 (46:45):
So technically, technically, yeah, I'm going technically because there was
another unit, uh, But the first Mississippi Volunteer Infantry Regiment
was the was the official name. Now now everybody calls
them the Mississippi Rifles, but the first Missippi Volunteer Infantry Regiment.

(47:05):
Reason why I'm such a stickler on that is because
in the second Mississippi Volunteer Infantry Regiment was a captain
who later became a brigadier general who got slapped by
Jefferson Davis, who then challenged him to a duel. That
would be William Barkstep not one of the questions later
on at the Battle of Buena Vista, which means beautiful

(47:29):
view in Spanish, if you did not, did you know
that moose I did, which also happens to have the
same name as his home on the coast, but boh.

Speaker 4 (47:39):
Which is French for beautiful view.

Speaker 7 (47:40):
The only reason I know that, Yeah, what injury did
Jefferson Davis sustain at the Battle of One avista. Don't
tell me you don't know it because we saw a
garment that he was wearing at the at that particular battle. Yes,
I'm asking what injuryory? How did he get hurt? That

(48:01):
doesn't count their moose?

Speaker 4 (48:09):
Okay, well I have to say where. I hope that.

Speaker 7 (48:13):
This guy has enjoyed his funny.

Speaker 4 (48:17):
Evening, but he is no.

Speaker 6 (48:18):
Longer allowed on here blocking him now I'm working on Yep,
be gone, and remember chad heads to please remember our rules.
Deleted and blocked, and you, sir, will not have an

(48:46):
appeal process.

Speaker 4 (48:47):
You did that to yourself.

Speaker 7 (48:49):
Yep, all right, moose you want to try?

Speaker 6 (48:53):
Yeah, half credit their moose. Uh, it was it was
in the foot. I believe it was in the and
I say foot, you know anything from the shin Dad's
the foot, But.

Speaker 7 (49:13):
I believe it was it was shot in the ankle.

Speaker 4 (49:15):
Uh.

Speaker 6 (49:16):
And the First White House Museum has his bloody sock. Yeah,
saw that bloody sock?

Speaker 10 (49:23):
All right?

Speaker 7 (49:25):
Who was Jefferson Davis's first wife? Give me her name
as well as why she's semi famous besides being Jefferson
Davis's first wife. So for example, give me your name

(49:46):
and who her father was.

Speaker 4 (49:48):
There's you a hint. If that ain't enough, mhm.

Speaker 6 (50:04):
H waituh, I save my answer to be posted last.

(50:33):
That way I can quickly delete it if I'm wrong.
All right, go ahead and post your answer. Yes, well,
Sarah Knox Taylor, but you know we'll take uh, we'll
take uh. I got her last name right and her
dad right?

Speaker 4 (50:54):
Yeah, yeah, I mean that's that's you know, that's good enough.

Speaker 7 (50:58):
But yeah, he was Zachary Taylor's Zachartiate would later become president.
Zach Taylor wasn't too thrilled about it, not at all. Yeah,
all right, how long were they married?

Speaker 4 (51:19):
Good try, James, good try.

Speaker 7 (51:24):
How long was Sarah Knox Taylor and President Davis? Well,
he wasn't president then, but Jefferson Davis married.

Speaker 6 (51:39):
Bonus point, even though we're not carrying points. How did
she die? I don't remember exactly. Just for that, Just

(52:07):
for that, I'm buying a Moose Hunt T shirt so
I can shoot you five times tech.

Speaker 4 (52:13):
I'm buying one. Well that's we're not talking about what
that would be, not on this show.

Speaker 6 (52:22):
Yeah, I'm buying two chat shirts. Actually, all right, it
was three months. They were married for only a short
three months and she died of malaria. So I was
unsure if it was two or three months, so I
just went with three. I could have swore you said

(52:45):
three when you told me about it.

Speaker 4 (52:48):
Yeah it was.

Speaker 6 (52:48):
I was sitting there. I was like, it's either two
or three, and I think Connor said three.

Speaker 7 (52:52):
I could have swore, Uh, President or you know, Jefferson
also had malaria at the same time, and uh he
was sick, and I can't remember if you if you
couldn't attend the funeral, or if he came out of
a sick bed get and attend to the funeral.

Speaker 4 (53:06):
Everybody thought he was next but you know, of course
he wasn't.

Speaker 7 (53:10):
And anyway, he ended up recovering from it, but was
blind in his one of his eyes. He goes as
left eye as a result of it. But here's a
good one for you, moose. Okay, under which US President

(53:36):
did Jefferson Davis service Secretary of War?

Speaker 8 (53:39):
Mm hm m.

Speaker 2 (53:43):
M m.

Speaker 6 (53:46):
M hm.

Speaker 11 (53:48):
Oh I think that's right, hm hm hmmm.

Speaker 4 (54:11):
I didn't know that about her. Yeah, yeah, you're right,
you're right, Uh, doctor Mitchell.

Speaker 6 (54:18):
Oh, I'm wrong.

Speaker 4 (54:21):
Mhm. That is unfortunate.

Speaker 12 (54:28):
Yep, not posting mine now, No, it's uh.

Speaker 4 (54:41):
Ah, was that one off?

Speaker 6 (54:48):
And stop?

Speaker 4 (54:50):
Hold on, hold on one second.

Speaker 7 (54:53):
Nope, you have to answer three two one.

Speaker 6 (54:57):
Uh one off?

Speaker 7 (55:00):
You felt it was indeed Franklin Pierce.

Speaker 6 (55:05):
Now that is extremely unfortunate.

Speaker 7 (55:10):
What was the name of the book. It's actually a
two volume book set of books that Jefferson Davis wrote
after the War between States.

Speaker 6 (55:28):
Yeah, I was one off.

Speaker 4 (55:33):
You want the full government.

Speaker 7 (55:35):
Name, or just I don't want the full name?

Speaker 2 (55:39):
Okay?

Speaker 4 (56:01):
Oh, okay, what.

Speaker 2 (56:08):
Ah?

Speaker 4 (56:15):
Do you ever have those moments?

Speaker 6 (56:16):
He's just kind of like, Okay, I've lost all hope
for myself.

Speaker 4 (56:19):
Yes, yeah, I just had one of those.

Speaker 6 (56:25):
Well I wasn't done, but I'll go ahead because you've
typed it down. But yes, it was the rise and
fall of the Confederate Government and Victor's right. Beouv War
does have copies of the book, but there's something new
and exciting from Beauvoir, who will probably be our second
half of the season sponsor, was talking to Jason, the
executive director down there about that. You know, so they

(56:49):
will probably you know, become one of our sponsors for
later in the season. And if you were interested in,
you know, if you have a project book or something
like that.

Speaker 4 (56:57):
I want to sponsor.

Speaker 7 (56:58):
It's only eighty bucks a month and we'll put a
little slide at the beginning of the video for you.
So I just just reach out to us. But Bouvoir Press.

Speaker 6 (57:09):
Which used to be around before Katrina, is being restarted
and Bobore will be producing its own copies The Rise
and Fall of the Confederate Government. Uh so what better
place to get one than the place where he actually
wrote it? Yes, and I cannot wait to get my
two volumes. Yeah, I saw, and they're on pre sale

(57:33):
right now for I believe one hundred dollars. Don't quote
me on that.

Speaker 4 (57:37):
I'm going off.

Speaker 6 (57:37):
I thought, okay, hey, look at me. But it's a
you know, it's it's it'll be a good centerpiece.

Speaker 2 (57:48):
Uh.

Speaker 7 (57:48):
They're they're gonna be gray with gold lettering on the
outside to look good in a library.

Speaker 4 (57:55):
I put on getting a couple of copies. Yeah.

Speaker 6 (57:58):
Uh, and it may be a auction item or door
prize at next year's division reunion. There will be a
door prize and auction item in twenty twenty eighth Street.

Speaker 4 (58:10):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (58:11):
So, uh, all right, here's a depressing question. Oh joyful
Jefferson Davis had six children with Verena Howell, Davis's second wife.
One of the child, Joseph Evan Davis, passed away during
the war.

Speaker 4 (58:28):
How did he die?

Speaker 6 (58:30):
M Oh, I know the actual answer now, but I'm
still gonna put this.

Speaker 4 (58:44):
Don't put a smart ELEC answer.

Speaker 6 (58:47):
I put a smart eleic answer. You were just playing tonight, David.
There's you can go ahead.

Speaker 4 (59:10):
Yeah, we're definitely not keeping points.

Speaker 2 (59:18):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (59:20):
It took me a minute to remember, uh what he
died from. I did it as I was typing in
that first one. I actually remember that sad, sad part
of the tour. Yes, he uh, he fell off of

(59:44):
a balcony at the Second White House in Richmond.

Speaker 4 (59:49):
I was buried up there and still buried up there.
First ever Confederate award I got was named in his honor.
Jusep uh. Last two questions, So.

Speaker 6 (01:00:05):
In what year did President Davis die? Okay, I just
want the year nothing else. Don't ruin the second question,
the very last question, you overachievers out there. I just

(01:00:50):
needed the year moose. But I'm sorry, that's how I
remember everything. Oh, if you're looking for something to do

(01:01:19):
in honor Jefferson Davis's birthday. We do have a lovely
video that was recently replayed last week.

Speaker 4 (01:01:27):
Go check that out.

Speaker 7 (01:01:29):
Really, doctor Mitcham, now have to change questions. I said,
don't be an overachiever.

Speaker 6 (01:01:37):
We all knew that doctor Mitchum is an overachiever, the
writing defending trivia champion forever because he is one of
the most. So yes, he did pass in eighteen eighty nine,
and he did pass in New Orleans, which was going
to be the next question.

Speaker 4 (01:01:58):
I know he's sitting there laughing.

Speaker 6 (01:02:01):
I can hear doctor Mitchum's laugh. Okay, well, seeing how
I said, we'd have one more question after this one,
here we go.

Speaker 7 (01:02:16):
For all the marbles.

Speaker 4 (01:02:21):
That's not technically right?

Speaker 6 (01:02:23):
Well, yeah, I did well, No, he was entumbed at
the aot tom That's what I was.

Speaker 4 (01:02:28):
Wow. And then.

Speaker 6 (01:02:31):
They uh.

Speaker 7 (01:02:34):
Yeah, and then they moved him to New Orleans. All right,
what is the singular form of the word confetti?

Speaker 4 (01:02:45):
The heck is that question? Well it's the last question.

Speaker 6 (01:03:10):
Repeat the question, what is the singular form of the
word confetti? Hey, you had to you had to answer.

(01:03:30):
You had to answer.

Speaker 7 (01:03:32):
Uh, the the last question there, doctor Mitchrum. What was
going to be the last question?

Speaker 6 (01:03:40):
The master over achiever, achiever, the legend doctor Mitchell.

Speaker 4 (01:03:49):
Confitt. Everybody give up. No, I think I'm right.

Speaker 7 (01:04:05):
Confetto is the singular form of the word confetti, just
like a single strand of pasta is a spaghetto.

Speaker 6 (01:04:18):
Actually, we have a winner. It's beyond York. That is
the answer to your question.

Speaker 4 (01:04:26):
No, no, no, it is not. It is confetto. I
think I got it right.

Speaker 6 (01:04:33):
I think you got it wrong. Anyway, boos, what are
you doing on Wednesday night? I am looking at Oh yeah,
I'm watching a Look Around Florida New date.

Speaker 7 (01:04:46):
Sorry, yes, that's right, despite what the previous title card,
which we really need to edit. But we're waiting for
sponsorships to come in. Tune in for Look Around South
Florida or look Around Florida rather uh with the Florida
Man himself, Sean McFall. Thursday night. You have a lot

(01:05:06):
of catching up to do.

Speaker 4 (01:05:09):
Just a little bit. I only miss one week.

Speaker 6 (01:05:11):
And you'll be doing it from Oxford. Yes, yes, I
will be no Audrey too, No, uh.

Speaker 8 (01:05:19):
No, Globe.

Speaker 6 (01:05:20):
I might take Audrey two with me. And then Friday
we have Mississippi Division reunion, so we will be uh
doing that and then, so look forward to some pictures
from that, and then we'll be back next Monday with
an actual planned episode instead of you know, a failed

(01:05:42):
attempt at playing the Vidia game.

Speaker 4 (01:05:44):
Uh.

Speaker 6 (01:05:44):
If you're not a member of our Patreon, please consider
to do so, because if we have to uh right
now the way we're gonna do the game, if that
interests you at all, if that's something that you're interested in, uh,
it will be a Patreon exclusive thing U for at
least a year.

Speaker 4 (01:06:01):
Then we may upload it into the thing uh onto YouTube.

Speaker 7 (01:06:04):
Remember to follow us on our YouTube.

Speaker 2 (01:06:06):
Uh.

Speaker 7 (01:06:07):
We are lucky so far that the other social media
thing hasn't kicked us off yet, but it.

Speaker 4 (01:06:12):
Very well could happen. Uh.

Speaker 7 (01:06:14):
Everybody who's going to these different uh uh reunions this weekend,
I know Texas has theirs this weekend.

Speaker 4 (01:06:21):
Florida, I believe has theirs this weekend. Alabama.

Speaker 7 (01:06:23):
Of course, have fun with your compatriots and so yeah,
we are a fraternal organization. We are a band of brothers.
Uh to steal a lyric from a song, so definitely
have fun, build those bonds.

Speaker 6 (01:06:37):
And you know, uh this is also a great time
not only to build the bonds of friendship and camaraderie.
But for you to maybe pick up an idea or
two from something that you didn't, you'd never think of.
You know, some camp's doing something, you know, take it
to your camp. It may be uh, it may be
worth doing until Monday and the words the Latin grade

no Fumar Prayer of the frogs.
