Speaker 2 (01:18):
But good evening, and welcome to another opportunity, another segment,
another moment of discussion and.

Speaker 3 (01:24):
Recovery and discovery and all that good. Sup. Welcome to
setting it straight with Miss Gray and her fabulous co hosts.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
Good evening to you all, good evening, good evening, good evening,
and it's.

Speaker 3 (01:37):
So good to see everybody here.

Speaker 2 (01:38):
We got Rebel in the background making sure we're looking
sharp and we staying on our toes.

Speaker 3 (01:45):
And that's one thing. You don't mess with your I
T person.

Speaker 2 (01:47):
You don't mess with your I person, and you don't
mess with your fiscal person.

Speaker 3 (01:51):
You don't mess with the CFO. Boy was cutting the checks.

Speaker 2 (01:54):
But anyway, before I go any further, let's pray, Lord,
we just thank you and we praise you for tonight.
We asked that you have your way, unlike ever before,
the world is in need of you right now, unlike
ever before.

Speaker 3 (02:06):
Please govern our.

Speaker 2 (02:07):
Minds and our mouths, and our conversations and our reflections
and our motivations as only you can. As always, we
get behind the cross, Lord, and we let you lead,
You take over. You become the line leader. Tonight, you
lead the discussion. We will forever faithfully follow you. All
this and more, we ask in Jesus' name, Amen and amen.

(02:31):
And before I go any further, I would like to
just have a moment of silence for a lot of
loss has taken place since we last were together, on
a major scale, on minor scales, just next door down
the street. So let's just have a moment of silence
for families who have experienced a loss, and people who
not only families, but even each other lost in friendships

(02:54):
and relationships just within this last week.

Speaker 3 (03:08):
We thank you God, thank you, thank you guys for
doing that. Where's the audience out there? Where are our viewers?
Where are our listeners?

Speaker 2 (03:16):
Come on up, check in, check in, one at a time,
all groups of y'all or whatever. I've been really thinking
about y'all this week as I watched different segments of
news and everything, and you know, I had a moment
where I had to sit back and say, oh my god.
The one thing I never really wanted to do was
get into politics. I don't want to talk about the

(03:38):
red or the blue. I want to talk about my country,
the red, white and blue. That's what I want back.
And that's you know, what are we learning from this now?
You know where are we going now? And just before
we came on, you know, Rebel made a good point.
You know, what do we return back to? You know,
I keep saying I want my country back, and it
made me stop and think, you know, yeah, yeah, back

(04:00):
to what though?

Speaker 3 (04:02):
I want us to be.

Speaker 2 (04:03):
I want I want you know, factory work, I want
businesses back. That's my main thing. That's what I want
that I want. I don't want us having to depend
on any other country but our own, just dig for
the wells, to dig for the oil, because we could
control stuff and nobody could tell us what we get
the price things at and things like that. So that's

(04:25):
The main thing I want back is I want companies.

Speaker 3 (04:28):
And they're coming. They're coming. It even hal the k
thank you Tennessee is in the.

Speaker 2 (04:32):
House and tonight as you can see, our topic and
again we we this topic was decided upon, you know,
and in August before every before the sky literally fell out.
And this is the day of democracy when all rights matter,
and you have the right to have your own opinion.

Speaker 3 (04:53):
You have the right.

Speaker 2 (04:54):
To to make decisions about your life and follow up
on those decisions. You have a right to own up
the things, take accountability.

Speaker 3 (05:03):
You have that right.

Speaker 2 (05:05):
And if you've stayed where you are and I'm over
here and everybody's over there, you're over there. If you're
doing exercising that and you'd being the best person, you
have the right to be the best person that you
can be. And if you need help getting there, you
need help executing that, then go get help. We told you,
We told about we talked to you about resources, we
talked about self care, We've talked about all of this.

(05:27):
This was all leading up to this to where we
are now. This is all this getting to know yourself.

Speaker 3 (05:34):
If you if you.

Speaker 2 (05:34):
Really go back and just kind of reminisce on some
of the shows, the podcasts, the discussions we had, the
guests that we had, getting yourself together, finding out who
you are? What is it that if you had it
your way, what would you be doing today? And now
we're here. It's not a soft land, but we're here
now and hopefully perfectly you brings together in your mind,

(05:57):
you've determined, you've made up who you're gonna be. Are
you going to walk life out? Who's gonna be in
your life, who's not gonna be in your life? Hopefully
you you've made those decisions now because you don't want,
ever want to be in a place where you're forced to.

Speaker 3 (06:12):
Make those decision.

Speaker 2 (06:14):
And now you're gonna you're gonna be forced because the
lack of I've been several places like uh oh not
so much my bank.

Speaker 3 (06:23):
Thank God.

Speaker 2 (06:24):
Be the best person you can be, and remember we
all need to stand together. You're right, missy, this is
a time now. It's not about red and blue. It's
about what do you stand for? And if you've got
anger issue, you've got things that just you know, whatever
that is, you need, you need help, You need to
go talk it out with somebody. But you you do

(06:44):
not have the right to spew it on me. You
left your house angry. I have nothing to do. I
don't know you, you don't know me. Stay there, don't
invite me into your lane. I'm not inviting you into
mind I'm still doing my I'm doing new normal, so
my mindset it's different. This is the.

Speaker 3 (07:03):
Land of the free and home of the brave. That's
what I want.

Speaker 2 (07:06):
I want bravery, I want mannerisms. Now I want you
to I want that guy to open up that car
door for you.

Speaker 3 (07:14):
Very true. Thank you, Mickey. Hey, you know I want
to go. Hey, Elle, janis okay, Tennessee's coming through. God
bless you. Thank you so much. That's that's what we
need to go.

Speaker 2 (07:25):
And more importantly, I thought about this today that I really,
I really need you all.

Speaker 3 (07:31):
To for those of you who are trying to.

Speaker 2 (07:33):
Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, I really need you
to make a run for him.

Speaker 3 (07:38):
I really need you to.

Speaker 2 (07:39):
Make a run for him, like because your life do
depend on it. We don't have no guarantees right now.
Only in Him we have guarantees. My phone locked me
out a few days ago and I called it, you know,
my my, my, my gen zers here, my babies because
theyin't know how to they they can make a way

(08:00):
out of no where. And they were both on it
and they're like, MA, nothing we can do. You're gonna
have to call them manufacturer. And I call them manufacturer
and they scrubbed my phone everything.

Speaker 3 (08:10):
If I thought I backed up.

Speaker 2 (08:12):
Stuff, I lost pictures, I lost all kinds of stuff.

Speaker 3 (08:17):
Information.

Speaker 2 (08:17):
I still had some folks information, but other folks I didn't.
I couldn't even I'm telling you, I never I've not
had the feelings that I had this past weekend since
seven years ago when I was in the hospital and
I woke up from a coma, and it's it's not
a good feeling when you your life is in this phone,

(08:39):
your information, what's your go to is my balancing, you know,
my my jigsaw puzzles that I do, and my difference
is app that I do and I go and find
the differences and stuff. When they finally got my phone
back on and going, it's like a new phone. Literally,
I don't I can't find my old jigsaw possle. I
can't find my Bible but that I had and what

(09:02):
I can highlight, you know, the scriptures in and and
stuff I'm like, oh my god. And I'm sitting here
trying to find pictures and I'm asking the kids, you know,
send me some of the pictures of us, you know,
together and stuff so I could do and I'm like,
oh my god.

Speaker 3 (09:15):
So I'm backing up. I'm backing up, you know.

Speaker 2 (09:17):
And it was a very uncomfortable feeling. I didn't I
was I felt lost me over this phone. And I
did not realize until this was all happening how much
I depend on the phone and that it's supposed to work.

Speaker 3 (09:35):
I had to go to the bank and help.

Speaker 2 (09:37):
They had to help me get past gos passwords and
I'll get the app back on. I mean, it's just
I'm running around, Okay, what else do I need to do?

Speaker 3 (09:45):
Okay?

Speaker 2 (09:45):
And then I was like, oh my god, I got
to get all my you know, the banking information I
gotta get and I you know, I had to do
in this silence because I was.

Speaker 3 (09:53):
Really a wreck. I really was a wreck.

Speaker 4 (09:56):
Is it not backed up in the cloud?

Speaker 2 (10:00):
Was it not?

Speaker 3 (10:00):
I didn't use the cloud. Then I found.

Speaker 5 (10:02):
Doesn't have a phone.

Speaker 3 (10:04):
Yeah, I don't have an ice.

Speaker 4 (10:05):
I don't have an I I don't either. But so
but some stuff when I switched. I think it might
be in a cloud or Google something. I think that
might be a try. I'm not sure we searched.

Speaker 2 (10:25):
I don't in there because and then I got the
email from my eye clouds and you, oh or your
your counsel will be closed.

Speaker 3 (10:32):
I said I had eye cloud. I didn't know. And
then I called myself. I said I have to pay
for it.

Speaker 2 (10:41):
He said, yeah, well I ain't paying for nothing since
I've had the pall.

Speaker 3 (10:46):
So I guess I don't have the cloud. But they
asked me that on your account.

Speaker 2 (10:50):
So what so see is this these both that I
thank God for my children because and we've got that
gift of humor because I had to laugh once and
start laughing, and they looked at me and shook their
heads because these two have the iPhone.

Speaker 3 (11:04):
See they tricked me. Let me tell you about children.
They tricked me.

Speaker 2 (11:07):
You know, we went, I'm thinking I'm doing something big.
Oh we're gonna do the family playing. Okay, well we're going.
And next thing, I know, these two little folks over here, Oh,
we're gonna get this phone here. And I'm like, okay,
I'm not thinking just dollar and I got the android,
and these people here in another world they got all
kinds ofs and whistles and features and stuff, and it's

(11:29):
on the family too much.

Speaker 5 (11:33):
I'll stick with the android.

Speaker 4 (11:34):
I'm sorry, I understand it.

Speaker 3 (11:39):
And actually it will be better for you guys, especially.

Speaker 2 (11:46):
Because we're all right because like me, these old see
you old people, see by your.

Speaker 3 (11:58):
People, your age.

Speaker 2 (11:59):
I'm like, you know you're gonna get here one day,
you're gonna walk this awn.

Speaker 3 (12:04):
But she talks about us old. We're old. That's older,
we're old and.

Speaker 5 (12:10):
The words of Richard, and where's Richard pride? You didn't
get old? Being no food? Though we did something right.

Speaker 3 (12:22):
I'm like, oh, Lord, have mercy. And I'm like okay, okay.
Then I'm like, God, do you? And then I looked down,
like I said, I finally realized I've got it.

Speaker 2 (12:30):
It's like I've got a new phone because it updated
all whatever.

Speaker 3 (12:34):
Needed to be up, whatever that was.

Speaker 2 (12:36):
It's I'm looking at this like what what is this?
The colors are different, you know, and stuff like that.
I mean, I take great pride in it. And then
my ring toes.

Speaker 3 (12:45):
I had to go in there and.

Speaker 2 (12:45):
Get all them everybody ring toe so I know who's
calling me? And should I run to the phone to
get it? If you got that ring ring, I don't.
I really don't want to talk to you, so I'll.

Speaker 3 (12:58):
Hear you from across the.

Speaker 2 (13:01):
So I got together yesterday. Yes, I just sat and
I'm just getting it. I miss him so much that
brought a tear to my eye. You miss who Mickey?

Speaker 3 (13:10):
You're phone, Mickey, tell us who you're referring to. But
I was lost. I was lost, and.

Speaker 2 (13:18):
I'm like, oh God, And then I think I asked.
I don't know if I asked Alicia or or should
I go get a new phone? Should I just go
ahead and just get a new phone? But then I
look down and it's like a new phone in my hand.

Speaker 3 (13:30):
You know, And I.

Speaker 2 (13:34):
Didn't like that feeling. God help us if we if
we go dark, you know, what are we gonna do with?

Speaker 3 (13:40):
Thank goodness, Like.

Speaker 2 (13:40):
I'm around people in my house that I enjoy being around,
and you know, we'll make it. We're gonna be all right.
Richard Pryor, Oh, yes, thank you, Micky. Yeah, Richard Pryor
was well, yes, he really was. He was one of
a kind.

Speaker 3 (13:55):
So don't let stuff like that catch you off. Guard.

Speaker 2 (13:59):
Always have a plan. Go ahead and back up your phone,
back up your information. I always delete stuff out of mind,
just go ahead. And some people are gone and I'm
on I.

Speaker 3 (14:09):
Don't even know how to get them. And I've got
to glad I was.

Speaker 5 (14:16):
I'm you might need to be. I mean, I'm trying
to you know what I mean. You know what I mean.

Speaker 3 (14:26):
If I'm flying under the weather, she just under the radar,
you know.

Speaker 2 (14:28):
Trade But you're right, Trey, And I try to delete
people ahead of time.

Speaker 3 (14:34):
But there's some folks that's out of my phone now
I can't read you. I'm you know, okay. I wish
you well, but it's just time. It's just time, and
and we we have to accept that.

Speaker 2 (14:48):
I've accepted, yeah, but you know, and just.

Speaker 3 (14:56):
Being able to do what did you say?

Speaker 5 (15:00):
I said, gotta gotta go.

Speaker 2 (15:03):
Right down right now, get ready to get ready to
get ready.

Speaker 5 (15:09):
Oh my god, oh jesus.

Speaker 3 (15:11):
Yeah, it's been real though. We've had a good time,
we've had a good run. They want to reach out
to you, whether the number is saved or not. They're
gonna find me right. They're gonna realize I haven't heard
from them, you know.

Speaker 5 (15:31):
I don't have your number anymore, and I have.

Speaker 3 (15:34):
To put a question mark, like I don't know who
you are.

Speaker 5 (15:39):
I don't recognize the numbers. Not store. You're not telling
the store.

Speaker 2 (15:43):
No, I'm not, I'm not. I'm not lying at all.
It wasn't my fault. I didn't do it on purpose
this time.

Speaker 5 (15:49):
Not this time.

Speaker 3 (15:52):
I'm really telling you.

Speaker 2 (15:53):
There was a lot about me. See, I say the
things y'all be thinking. See, I'm coming off, I come
off this ledge. I say the things that y'all were thinking.
You just don't have the heart to say stuff. But
I'd be like, he didn't coffee, Well who are you?

Speaker 3 (16:13):
But I know you know you can.

Speaker 5 (16:16):
You can get away with something and greg and then.

Speaker 4 (16:20):
Everybody doesn't put it so eloquently like you.

Speaker 3 (16:24):
And be ready to laugh, you know. And then I
give you a warning. I'll say, like, here my heart.

Speaker 2 (16:30):
That's a warning because you're not gonna like what say
something here my heart?

Speaker 3 (16:34):
That that little saying, well, judge my heart, not my
mind or whatever. I don't know what that.

Speaker 5 (16:38):
Means to my hand, not my heart.

Speaker 3 (16:41):
And I'd be like, and.

Speaker 2 (16:43):
Every time I had a neighbor that used to say that,
I'd be like, give me a minute, not.

Speaker 3 (16:51):
A Florida thing. But we got people in Florida that brought.

Speaker 2 (16:54):
That saying with them, and I'd be like, oh, you're lying,
it's a lie.

Speaker 3 (17:00):
You like, well, you got to say all that. I
don't know about to charge it to my anyway.

Speaker 5 (17:06):
I have learned a lot of sayings down there.

Speaker 2 (17:09):
Yes, we got some stuff. We got some sayings in
here in Florida. Yeah we do, you know, but that's
from the Native Floridians. You can tell us natives because
we say certain things, you know. Yeah, and it's real
and it makes sense, you know, the elderly. I was
just thinking about that. I said that to someone that old.
I was talking to Pastor Washington earlier out of Tennessee,
and I said, you remember how the Saints used to say,

(17:30):
you know, I'm in my right Oh no, it's.

Speaker 3 (17:33):
A stranger on the phone. I'm sorry. That was earlier.

Speaker 2 (17:35):
I said, you know how the older people you say,
I'm in my right mind. I got the activity of
my limbs. But I used to laugh at that, like, yeah.

Speaker 3 (17:42):
You and you're right by.

Speaker 2 (17:48):
They got that, And I would always have to think
of because I never knew who would say it. And
it would come on the right field. And I'm like
to see. And I'm a therapist, so you can't talk
about mental stuff with me because I've been looking at you.
You're in your right mind, you know now I said it.
I can say that when I'm having brain fog, and
I'm like, oh, yeah, I'm in my right mind, and

(18:10):
I have the activity of my limbs. I was able
to get up and start walking and and go through
these certain Yeah, I say it a lot.

Speaker 3 (18:17):
Now it's my mantor now I get it.

Speaker 4 (18:20):
I don't need to find you when you're saying some
of the stuff, because I would lose it.

Speaker 5 (18:24):
I have no coup. I'd lose it.

Speaker 4 (18:27):
I'd be laughing, not trying to be funny. But it's
the way you say it's great.

Speaker 3 (18:35):
Like I'm lost. I'm like, see, because I can make
people laugh.

Speaker 2 (18:40):
I think I'm guilty of this. Don't you try to
be funny? And if you don't have the gift of humor,
please we covered for you, especially if I have to
say that like did you did.

Speaker 3 (18:54):
You say that? Did you? Or you said the anybody?
Oh that's so funny. I'm like, I'm lost, I'm lost,
and I hope I can make it back. I just
hope I'm make it back. But I'd be like, yeah, so.

Speaker 2 (19:07):
My face tells a lot of stuff, you know, and
then I mess with people, and you know, I mess
with people because like I was part of the PTA,
the Council of PTA, and we were at low Gardens
for our annual one of our general meetings and workshop
we feed you and stuff. And the president of the
council she always liked it, just just she.

Speaker 3 (19:29):
Thought she was right and everything she said.

Speaker 2 (19:31):
And I'd just be in the meeting looking at her, like,
you know, like okay, So she's around a bunch of
women and she's like, oh yes, and this that, and
and she goes, look, you could go ahead and go
through the back door.

Speaker 3 (19:43):
I said, well, I'm going through the back door.

Speaker 2 (19:45):
Gotta I said that my people die, so I could
go through the front.

Speaker 3 (19:49):
You're so right, missus green.

Speaker 2 (19:50):
Has Okay, Missy, Okay, don't let me do a field trip.

Speaker 3 (19:57):
I'm coming up there. What you're talking about, missy?

Speaker 2 (20:01):
But yeah, I had I had a go on there
for a minute. I said, no, I said, the back door,
the back, the back way.

Speaker 3 (20:07):
I'm going through the front, and should be suren't getting
ready to have a break for lunch. I'm on tie
for lunch.

Speaker 2 (20:12):
And she's like, I said, you just be you look,
just just be thankful. We ain't in February. Be thankful
because you get a whole, a whole different being. And
March too, I'm gonna claim March. That's women's history. Be
careful what you said, please, Shah, I said, gotcha, and

(20:33):
I walked off.

Speaker 3 (20:34):
No, don't be playing with me, Thank goodness. She she
would never. She don't even know I have a podcast,
So that's even good. Let's leave it there.

Speaker 2 (20:42):
But yeah, a lot of my students used to say,
and people would say to me, miss Gray, you need
to go to the comic comedy Club. I said, yeah,
but I couldn't invite y'all. They're like, why because I've.

Speaker 6 (20:51):
Been just quit talking because you're feeling too much.

Speaker 3 (20:58):
See it's an all coming back. And I'll be like, no,
I couldn't invite you because you would be the topic.

Speaker 2 (21:05):
And Shakespeare said, all the world's are stage and men
are mere pawns in it. I've lived that. I've never
told you about the clown that came to the workshop.
She and the clown suit at eight o'clock in the
morning anyway, And you know, like you I tell jokes,
I'm like, and I had that epiphany right in front
of everyone. I've never told the joke because I forget

(21:25):
all the pieces of it.

Speaker 3 (21:26):
So there's no need. Let me just talk about you.

Speaker 2 (21:29):
I mean, you know or you know, were you wondering.

Speaker 3 (21:35):
I know you were wondering. Well, I'm in a church
one Sunday, coming to Baptist church.

Speaker 2 (21:41):
They believe in watching feet, So I'm sitting on the
edge few and I'm just sitting at minding my business,
and all of a sudden, I hear a rustling. I
hear something like somebody walking over leaves or something.

Speaker 3 (21:54):
I feel you or eld K. I know you'll be saying.

Speaker 2 (21:59):
But I was there and I heard this like like
somebody had leaves wrestling, and I didn't want to look.
I didn't want to look, so I turned and his
lady came in and she had this hat on, but
they were real leaves, like she picked him off the hedge.

Speaker 3 (22:13):
And she put a net over it. And I'm like,
the Lord said, come as you are. That's all.

Speaker 2 (22:21):
That's all I said, come on, just come on, And
I'm like she did it. She and she just rustling
and I don't know what was moving up there to
make the she had the net and the net underneath.

Speaker 5 (22:34):
The hat, so you know, maybe it was a bird
up in there.

Speaker 3 (22:39):
I think it was. I think it's a little fitch words.
You know. She just gathered all the leaves and just
put on caterpillar. I don't know what could have you know,
same church, different sunday.

Speaker 2 (22:51):
They had the old fashioned silver mic you know that
the doctor Martin Luther King Kennedy days Mike, and they.

Speaker 3 (22:58):
Would do touch up sir.

Speaker 2 (23:01):
And it wasn't what the man said in his testimony.
It was the two women in front of me who
you know, and so the mess and the pastor was like, okay,
that's enough, this is the last one. And he said,
y'all need you all to pray for me because uh,
I know that there would be a good show to
see if the students show, they would have the door
they laugh at all. Yeah, if they were mentioned, yeah,
I don't mention names though. See I just described, just

(23:26):
described you if the shoe fits, you know. So the
gentleman is like, I just need you all to pray
for me because on Wednesday, I'm having outdoor surgery out.

Speaker 3 (23:38):
But it wasn't what he said it. It wasn't just
the two laguers in front of me. He's like, have
an course surgery.

Speaker 2 (23:45):
He got up with my finger and walked out, walked
out the law. The four year was very wide, and
I went outside and made it to the stairs, and
there was like fifteen flights of stairs, but I went
down every one of them and got to the sidewalk
and bust up.

Speaker 3 (24:02):
Well, he's an outdoor surgery.

Speaker 5 (24:04):
You know. I heard someone say they went to It
was years ago, and.

Speaker 4 (24:12):
The ministers couldn't say prosecuting attorney.

Speaker 5 (24:16):
He said the prostitute. He tried, he said the press. No,
that's not it. Prostitute.

Speaker 3 (24:30):
You know, how do you how do you not laugh
at that? And you trying to you?

Speaker 5 (24:35):
Yeah, actually my shoulders would go up down. It was
just like I couldn't.

Speaker 3 (24:43):
It's just you know.

Speaker 2 (24:45):
At the funeral, biological mother's side of the family were
third row with my cousins, and all of a sudden,
the first road they started laughing.

Speaker 3 (24:52):
So we're like, what cousin, what a love it? I said,
I do not know.

Speaker 2 (24:55):
It got back to us on the third row, the
elder in the midd in the men's corner.

Speaker 3 (25:01):
He had on a two pay and he was falling
asleep of the fuel. So he would be like every
time his dad go down, it moved. We were done
and we couldn't. It's his three rows of us holler it.
I mean, we'd laughed and so we couldn't help it.

Speaker 5 (25:15):
We could.

Speaker 3 (25:16):
We are crying and people.

Speaker 2 (25:17):
Are like, oh, no, ain't no all. Y'all need to
wake him up. Y'all need to wake him up. This
is not gonna be good. It's not gonna be good,
you know. So it's just being able to look at
life and and and laugh about it and and look
back and say, oh, you know, wow, that was funny.

Speaker 3 (25:34):
And and you're gonna need that. Now. You're gonna need
to remember humorous things. You're gonna remember. You need to
have the good times.

Speaker 2 (25:43):
I was on the phone with a young man yesterday
about kay bowling and Spectrum in Hulu getting that service,
and and ended up. I don't know how God interjected
that is funny, yes, Elda Jane's I'm telling you. I'm
telling you, and you see, I can't see That's why
God didn't wouldn't have me be a pastor standing in
a pool pit and I'm watching you come in. I'd

(26:04):
be like, you know you're late, you know what time
we're supposed to start, you know what we're doing, what
we're doing.

Speaker 3 (26:12):
And why y'all back there talking.

Speaker 2 (26:14):
I did that in class because one night the students
were There was one particular student that loved to bring
in her laptop and she would be on it and everything,
so she didn't know I was a walker. I walked
the classroom and I got up behind her. I'm teaching,
I'm teaching, but she's playing Solitaire on my computer, so
I got I didn't say anything, and she couldn't she

(26:34):
couldn't flip it down fast enough.

Speaker 3 (26:36):
So I get up to the front of the classroom.
I said, well, some of you all.

Speaker 2 (26:39):
Gonna be losing points just for your attendance, and why
because just because, And that was I never had that
problem again, because I mean, you could bring in your
laptop to take notes, but you're playing games on it,
and this must be really boring for you. So I
expect you to make a hundred percent on the exam.
If you don't make a hundred percent, I will fail
you you get an F because you're not paying attention,

(27:02):
you know. But yeah, a lot of times I would
I would get people, you know, and especially when people
were just really wound too tight. You've had those type
of people. They've just wound up too tight and we
still going talk about democracy. They were just wound up
too tight. It's like, geez, get over it, come on,
let loose. And I was on the third floor at

(27:23):
my job. I was working at Children's Services Council, and
our public one of the staff members, she was the publicist,
so she was always doing the what we would call
blogs today and stuff like that.

Speaker 3 (27:34):
She was on media person and she was always so
careful about what she said.

Speaker 2 (27:40):
And I'm just going to the break room, so you know,
I think I was getting ready to eat lunch or something.
And I'm passing by them, she and two other women,
and our office was on the second floor, but the
folks on the third floor, you know, that's the upper
echelon leadership team and stuff like that. And she said, yeah,
she was saying something. She goes, yeah, it's about the
colored something.

Speaker 3 (27:59):
I said, color colored, Arlene colored.

Speaker 2 (28:03):
She went and told the executive director that I misunderstood
what she was saying. So later in that afternoon, I
get a knock on my door. I said, yes, I
don't say tell you to come in. I don't know
who you are, so I'm like yes, and she said, hey,
it's Tanna, the executive director on the second floor.

Speaker 3 (28:19):
And I had my light off and everything. I said,
come on in.

Speaker 2 (28:22):
And she was really uneasy to talk about she goes well,
such and such said that you know, she thinks she
hurt your feelings, and I said, oh, I was just
joking with her. So I said, y'all, woantn't to do
tight up there. Y'all got to just let the hair
down here. Maybe y'all need to come down here and
you know, be with us, you know, middlefolk for a minute,
just to unwind.

Speaker 3 (28:42):
I said, But I got her. I said, you go back.

Speaker 2 (28:44):
She's probably scared to talk to me because if you
see me coming in her office, it's going to freak
her out. So can you tell her we're cool? It
wasn't It was just I was just making fun. You know, colored,
I think, I said colored, You talking about crayons, colored crayons,
colored markers. I said something like that, and I kept
going yeah, So I get in trouble that I you know,

(29:05):
and I accidentally kind of hurt folks feelings too.

Speaker 3 (29:08):
You like, but you look so serious. Yeah, but you
know you are wide open. You're a wide open I
couldn't help.

Speaker 2 (29:15):
So I want to segue from there to say, this
is how I kind of raise my kids. Even if
you know I'm going to disagree with something, you stand
on it, you support it, I'm gonna disagree. I'm gonna
express myself. I'll give you a chance to express yourself,
but I'm not I can only I can tell you

(29:35):
where the water is. I can tell you how the
water is. I can tell you what flavor the water is,
or what it is a good time to go drink
the water.

Speaker 3 (29:42):
I can.

Speaker 2 (29:43):
I can lead you to the water, but I can't
make you drink it. And sometimes I can't.

Speaker 3 (29:46):
Even lead you. And I'm okay with that. My responsibility
is to make sure you are informed.

Speaker 2 (29:53):
And I was listening to some of the profits that
I follow whose word is I've already been told, so
I agree, and all of them are saying.

Speaker 3 (30:02):
We don't mean to scare you, we don't mean to
startle you.

Speaker 2 (30:06):
Well, I'm here to put fear because what's here and
what you've seen in this last week that's unfolding, It's real.
It has opened up a whole pandemics box on every
in every type of situation you can imagine. Its purpose
is to instill fear, to make you scared, to go out,

(30:30):
to make you scared and be looking at people and
clutching your purse, make you go, make you want to
go to the gun range and get you a gun.

Speaker 3 (30:38):
I know it, I'm sure of it. I know it.

Speaker 2 (30:41):
I know students at some of these colleges they have
gotten guns because we got you got that threat out there.
We're coming to kill all the black people at these
different universities.

Speaker 3 (30:50):
Oh okay, we'll be ready for you.

Speaker 2 (30:52):
See you, and nobody's thinking, let's come together and pray.
Let's let's let's come together and pray. Nobody's thinking about that.
You know what, Let's let's practice some self defense or
what do we do in a case like that. This's
one drills now, because we've got active people out there
that's not thinking straight, that's not thinking on our behalf.
They want to literally hurt us because we look different,

(31:14):
we walk different. So I'm hearing the threats I'm hearing,
I'm watching, listening the deaths here there, everything, and I'm like, God,
have mercy, Lord, have mercy, and tell me what are
we to do? And he made it very clear, he said,
I need you praying. I need you praying many times
throughout the day. You're gonna wake up praying because we've

(31:37):
got to cover this world in prayer, because prayer is
the only thing that changes things. Not you shooting people,
not you threatening people, not you can't go in the
House of Parliament and keep at peace, none of that.

Speaker 3 (31:49):
Not you airing all your whatever.

Speaker 2 (31:52):
You want to say, spewing your your nastiness on social media.

Speaker 3 (31:55):
No, that don't change nothing. Prayer changes that.

Speaker 2 (31:59):
And if you you're not there, I don't know what
else I can say, Trey, you want to say something, Yeah.

Speaker 5 (32:05):
I want to say a couple of things.

Speaker 4 (32:09):
What I have observed and learned, And I think we
talked about it before on the show.

Speaker 5 (32:17):
What it is to be a Christian, what it means
to be a Christian? What you know? What are you
praying for?

Speaker 4 (32:25):
So everybody's prayers are differently, and I think we talked
about it earlier. You mentioned, you know, what do we
want to go back to and hav an honest conversations
because we're not being when I say we, I'm when
there's we are not having honest conversations.

Speaker 5 (32:43):
About what that means.

Speaker 4 (32:45):
And people want to skirt around it, reflect it reflected, blame,
make it look like something that it isn't, and and
sometimes to the point where you're making people feel like
you are questioning my intelligence. You're questioning my intelligence. If

(33:05):
I see a for red flower that looks like a rose,
smells like a rose, it is a rose. And we're
not having the honest conversations. By what do you really
mean when you're saying that more things that I'm hearing
have come up. That's really but people are getting what
me and a Christian getting a mixed up. Depends on

(33:27):
who you're listening to, what your sources are, and what
I'm hearing. I learned something that the New Testament versus
the Old Testament when it says, if I understand the
Old Testament, God says, love your neighbor as you love yourself. Well,
if you don't love yourself, you don't want to be loved.
You know, a neighbor doesn't want to be loved the

(33:48):
way if you don't love yourself. The New Testament, from
what I'm understanding, is God says, love your neighbor as
I love you. And the way I'm hearing people talk,
God does not love us that way.

Speaker 5 (34:01):
Thus God made us in his image or his image.
You see what is? What is if you believe in God,
we are his images?

Speaker 4 (34:09):
Black, white, Latino, Mexican, Uh, you know, Russian, you know
whatever that is. And I'm thinking, when I we need
to go back to the altar, get down to our knees. Oh,
thank you, thank you all the kay. You know, people
we're not having the conversations. And the thing is, people

(34:29):
are so afraid to have conversations because one of the
things I don't know if you remember Lesia. While back
in Palmbridge County, there was an organization that that talked
about cultural competency and toward a more perfect union, where
these dialogues you had them in small groups, but they
were had. You don't have to agree with somebody that

(34:50):
does not look like you or have the same beliefs,
but there is some civil civility that needs to be had.
I might not agree with your life, judge, not unless
he be judged judge God is the person that's going
to judge you. And I say that because I think
sometimes when man puts his spend on things, we're messing
it up, and we're cruiting, creating division, we're creating fear

(35:14):
and people that don't look like And I got frustrated,
God rest is man soul when I heard a couple
of clips of saying, I'm looking at I have to
question if I see a black pilot, whether this person
was hired because of the fact that they were qualified,
or whether they put him as a result of DEI

(35:37):
that's his belief, but his belief has other people questioning it.
But if you flipped it because you see other people,
people of Caucasian or people who are not of color,
just say the same thing, you know it could be reflipped.
Did you get that where you are because you are
had the means for someone to be able to maybe

(35:59):
help buy you the or put a wing onto a
college university in their name and which will allow you
because this stuff does happen. But my thing is, we
need to pray. But really, let's me I'm telling you,
and I said, I need to make sure that I
paid pray. And then there was a gentleman that put
it eloquently that you don't wish any ills. I don't

(36:22):
wish any ills on that young man. I'm so sorry
that happens. But when you create fear, you back a
cat up against the corner.

Speaker 5 (36:30):
He's gonna come out.

Speaker 4 (36:32):
Now the sickness that he should not have been a
saxinate or killed or whatever whatever they're using. And now
it's something different because of who he is. But it's
a lot of hypocrisy going on. It's a lot of
leaning to one side, not recognizing. Okay, well you said
it's about this person, but now this person it looks differently.

(36:53):
If it's a spade called the spade, but have the
you know, we need to have some start dialoguing about it.
And I don't know where to begin with it. I
think it's my frustration because it's this place is getting
scarier and people say, this is not who we are,
but it's becoming to look like who we are. Is
this what we were all of a sudden or has

(37:13):
it always been like this? And but people found a
way to kind of be more civil and not do that.
And it's not it's just crazy, it's sad. It's fearful.
It's I don't know, it's crazy.

Speaker 6 (37:28):
I just want to share as far as I definitely
do agree with all that you said and you know,
having faith. If you go over he Wreews eleven, it
tells us what faith looks like. It goes back of
people in the Old Testament, of different stories of what
people face and what true faith looks like. So it's

(37:49):
like it's really a time to really get right with
God and just make sure you have eyes to see,
ears to hear him and not allowing us to get
to people. It does look scary. It's like, okay, like
just came out of nowhere. No, if you were truly
of Him, you would have known these things were coming.

(38:09):
You would have been behind the scenes of everything. So
it's just like I think two Timothy, he didn't give
us the spirit of fear, but power, love.

Speaker 5 (38:17):
And a sound mind.

Speaker 3 (38:18):
So keep that close to you.

Speaker 6 (38:21):
Of what I recommend, especially for the youth and everything
like that. With all of our schools, you know, being
targeted and stuff like that, it's just like, we do
not need to fear right now. We need to trust
God no matter how it looks. I mean, we see
all these stories in the Bible.

Speaker 3 (38:36):
It was crazy. I mean we probably would have not
survived back then.

Speaker 6 (38:39):
But like it's the same thing, you know, and it's
gonna look, of course differently because we're experiencing it. So yeah,
I definitely, yeah, Like just establish that relationship for sure.
No luke warmness, no in and out, be all in
it because I mean, boy, it's gonna be a fight,
it's a lonely walk, and it's a lot you will

(39:02):
be tested.

Speaker 2 (39:03):
So just really, a person that is doing their job,
they obviously know their job, no matter what they look
what they look like, it seems the person questioning is jealous.

Speaker 3 (39:15):
Yeah, And it's so much of that.

Speaker 2 (39:18):
And going back to what as K said about the
school situation, I'm not surprised that racism and somebody not
liking folk because of the color of their skin or
their religion. That doesn't these schools don't have security already
on them. That's where my frustration comes in at because

(39:39):
I know this, you don't have security on there as is,
and they're paying for it being a student there, they're
paying the salaries of these security people and there's nobody
there partly, so that's my concern. I know, prejudice is
going to always exist. Societal ills will always be. There's
no scripture in the Bible that says that this will

(39:59):
cease and desist. If it will not, it's going to
get worse, it will die down, it will ebb and flow.
Right now, we're getting ready to have a whole lot
because it's coming on every front now. Ever since twenty twenty,
ever since twenty twenty, everything's been coming on all fronts. Now,
we all need to remember that we are of the
human race and we need to stand together and know

(40:21):
each other and accept each other as is, accept each
other as a know what your role is too.

Speaker 3 (40:29):
I'm not here to change, y'all. I'm here to encourage.
I'm here to motivate.

Speaker 2 (40:34):
And if you embrace change, if you look at your
life and say, you know what, I just don't. I
just don't. I don't like the way this is happening
for me, will you change it?

Speaker 3 (40:44):
You change it?

Speaker 2 (40:45):
Because I can tell you forever. And I've had people
say very close to me and very recently, well you know,
not everybody think like you do, and that's kind of good.
I said, Yeah, I've got three children here, who has
twenty three of my chromosomes each and they don't think
like I do. So throwing that jab it means nothing
to me, but look how you live it. See then
then you got me going there. I don't want to

(41:05):
go there. So I had to pull them. I got
to back myself out of this despite what's happening, because
two phone calls, one yesterday to a Spectrum staff member
and then today to my homeowners is my homeowners insurance?

Speaker 3 (41:20):
Home insurance total.

Speaker 2 (41:22):
Stranger got into Jack did and this lady's crying like
miss Greg, thank you so much, thank you, saying yeah,
there's some people you got. It was a message for her.
That's who I'm called. I'm going after the chosen that
don't know their chosen. I may never fish to see
them face to face. I may get them on the phone.
I may be at the training part whatever. Saturday morning,
we went out the dog to do the training with

(41:44):
our pupp with our doghogs. I want to call a puppy,
but with our dog. And before I could get close,
start putting, getting dressed, Jesus said to me, let them
see me today, let them see me today.

Speaker 3 (41:54):
And I'm like, I got you. Because I was going
in hot and Jesus said, no, let them see me today.

Speaker 2 (41:59):
Love it, young lady, keep keeping keeping, yeah, keeping pure.
I think she's trying to say pure. But thank you,
you know, and and.

Speaker 3 (42:06):
So this is real, this is real. I just I
just got to be assured.

Speaker 2 (42:10):
Please please study your word now, not just read the Bible,
but study. You got a highlighter in your hand, you
got a notepad beside you.

Speaker 3 (42:18):
You're looking at scriptures in a different light. Now, you're
you're studying scriptures.

Speaker 2 (42:22):
And you're walking away from your study with a scripture
in mind. Because and that's that meditating day and night,
meditate on my word. Because you're over you're saying that
scripture over and over and over and before we yeah,
we got three minutes here. I want to share a
scripture that I that I had this morning and I
was like, oh, this is this is what this is
how things should be looking. This is what God, this

(42:44):
is what he does. And I just want I said,
I got to share this with y'all, young lady, keep
your focus on Yes, amen, amen, come on, give me
get Bible, Bible, Bible, come on.

Speaker 3 (42:54):
No no no, no, no, no no no no no.
Psalms ninety six I'm getting there. I'm getting there. Chapter two, right, Oh,
singing to the Lord, a new song.

Speaker 2 (43:07):
Singing to the Lord. All ye, all the earth, singing
to the Lord. Bless his name, show forth his salvation
from day to day. Declare bless you, all, thank you.
Declare his glory among the heathen, his wonders among the people.
For the Lord is great and greatly to be praised.
He is to be feared above all God's little g

(43:27):
For all the god little g gods of the nations
are idols. But the Lord made the heaven, honor and
majesty are before him. Strength and beauty are in his sanctuary.
Give un to the Lord, Oh, ye, hundred kindreds of
the people, give unto the Lord glory and strength. Give
unto the Lord the glory. Do unto his name. Bring

(43:50):
an offering, and come into his courts or worship the
Lord in the beauty of holiness. Feared before him all
the earth. Say among the heathen that the Lord reigneth.
The world also shall be established, that it shall be
not moved. He shall judge the people righteously. Let the
heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad. Let the

(44:12):
sea roar and the fullness thereof. Let the field be
joyful and all that they're in. Then shall all the
trees of the wood rejoice before the Lord before he cometh.
But he cometh to judge the earth, But he shall
judge the world with righteousness, and the people with his truth.

(44:33):
Where's his truth is in his words? Where's his covenant?
His promises is in the words. There are books out
there in the Christian bookstore. God's promises, God's Covenant.

Speaker 3 (44:44):
It's there.

Speaker 2 (44:45):
You can't say you can't find it. You could google it.
But I will tell you all the promises of God.
Here are all the scriptures.

Speaker 3 (44:52):
Amen.

Speaker 2 (44:52):
Amen, And we can get there. But thank you all,
it's our time. We're gonna see you next week. Please
stay safe, keep your head on the We will pray
for us all and pray from our country.

Speaker 3 (45:03):
We love y'all. Night night,
