Setting it Straight with Miss Gray. Fabulous co hosts and
we have a guest. But before we go any further,
we're gonna take it to the throne room because we
need we need the strength, we need the power, we
(01:40):
need the authority, we need the clarification and the discovery
and the discussion. Father God, we just love you so

thank you for everything. Thank you for this week. We
thank you Father God for the revelation, the uh, the
strength and and and the the the clarification you clarified,
(02:04):
and a lot of things you made clear of the path,
Father God, you answered the questions Father God, that we're
not even prayed for and about. And we just thank you, Father,
We just thank you.
Speaker 3 (02:16):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (02:16):
We we're praying for the people in near San Diego
that experience that earthquake. We're not sure. I don't know
the proximities and stuff. I don't know if there was
any losses, but please Father, here our prayer. Father, we
also asked a special prayer. We're just learning of a loss.
Where are our I t our engineer and our technician lives,
(02:39):
really where she works, and please be with this that
person's family. We don't we're not going to understand it.
We're not going to understand it. We just we just
pray that the family is strengthened and that they're going
to persevere despite all. Now tonight, Father God, this is
one of your special topics of talking about your son
(03:00):
and all that he had to go through and in
three days and what the how significant, what the significance
is to us today and what we need to be
doing today as always, we stand behind the cross. We're
gonna peak, We're gonna listen as you set the captors free.
In your most holiest name, we pray. Amen and Amen, Amen,
(03:25):
amy to everybody, and please help me. Welcome Pastor Michelle
Fears all the way from Knoxville, Tennis.
Speaker 4 (03:32):
Same, thank you, thank you, thank you.
Speaker 2 (03:39):
I we appreciate that. I'm gonna give you a chance
to talk about prayers. Thank you and the station. Amen. Pastor,
I want you to take the lead, but we're gonna
talk about you know what does resurrection Sunday? This whole week?
We got good Friday on Friday, and we've had Palm
Sunday yesterday, and you know what all of this means
(04:01):
and why is it still significant. I'm gonna mute myself
because you'll hear me. Amen. Okay, you'll hear me, So
I'll mute myself out of respect. Give us some give
us a little introduction to you. How long you you
know you've been pastor at Knoxville at Bitley Street Church,
very new, very.
Speaker 5 (04:19):
New, and it's just going into my fourth year at
Bentley Street and Knoxville, Tennessee Disciples of Christ Church. So
I'm very very new but have been in ordained since
nineteen ninety eight and then called in to be a
pastor in twenty twenty one. So it's all good.
Speaker 2 (04:43):
Amen, Amen and amen. So yeah, the listening, the faithful
listeners and my co hosts already know our history. It
is beautiful. Okay, nick A, thank you.
Speaker 4 (04:56):
All right, all right, it is it is.
Speaker 2 (05:00):
Yes, I may have a peak, you know, do a
sneaking peak, you know, may have to help Trade me waiting.
Speaker 5 (05:06):
We're waiting. We have the whole Knoxville on alert for
you coming. But she thinks she's gonna know when we're
gonna arrive in the spirit.
Speaker 4 (05:17):
In the spirit, that's what we're gonna say, Okay.
Speaker 2 (05:19):
Asking God please let us know. But I'm trying to
tell her. I gave us some hints. I'm gonna surprise,
may interrupt the flow of service because I'm gonna wait
till everybody's inside. Gave us some hints, give us some hints.
That's all I could do. But yeah, Trade, you may
need to think about meeting me halfway because you all
the way up there. You gop on the plane and
meet me in Tennessee. That yeah you can. And we
(05:40):
look at and we looking. We can charge it off.
We can charge it off.
Speaker 4 (05:43):
Holliday like, yeah, you're welcome to come to let's let's
do the whole.
Speaker 3 (05:51):
I'm there.
Speaker 2 (05:55):
Well, he is always so busy, he's always doing foreign
missionary work. We the you know, check the calendars with him,
so you know. But yeah, we've been to roll up
and surprise you and everything. You all have been so
faithful and so supportive of me and just being there
and praying for me. And I could tell when prayers
(06:17):
are coming up from the northern outside the state, and
it really means a lot to me, It really does.
But you know, I know this is a week where
traditionally and in some cultures, especially black culture, so I
can only speak from that perspective. You know, already, you know,
people are looking at what kind of money they have.
(06:38):
And already every salon and barber shop is going to
be jumping from Saturday night. The most retail busy season
will occur Friday and Saturday because we got to go
get the outfits. We've got to go get the hair done.
Now we're adding you have a right and hands and suits.
Speaker 3 (07:05):
A mean.
Speaker 5 (07:07):
And you know I was I was thinking about that
the other day. And it has to do with the newness.
You know, we're going into newness and you know, receiving
a new life. And I think that, I mean, you know,
I'm even want to do something new.
Speaker 4 (07:26):
It doesn't have to be on a.
Speaker 5 (07:27):
Big scale, but just something new, you know, for this
new life that Jesus Christ has so sacrificially given us.
Speaker 4 (07:37):
You know, I just want to do it because hey,
I have new life.
Speaker 5 (07:41):
You know, a new you get something new, you start
getting a new mind. I mean it's like, oh, I
got this dress on, you know, and I got my
nails dead and all of that stuff, you know, but
it gives you a different attitude about about you know, yourself.
Not that it all of that, but we need to
(08:03):
be to be happy with who we are in Christ,
Jesus Man, and that's where the freedom comes.
Speaker 4 (08:12):
So yeah, I think I'm gonna I'm gonna buy me something.
Speaker 5 (08:15):
I I am definitely gonna buy me something new for
u this new life, celebrate new life that I have
received because of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Speaker 2 (08:27):
Yeah, So that's a great segue because of the importance
and the significance beyond the shopping, beyond being made over
beyond the makeover, beyond getting something new, beyond getting the
hair done and the suits and the clothing and everything.
Like I said, retail is gonna be I hope they
(08:48):
know what's coming. And I hope the stores because I mean,
I'm sure folks in retail have been so discombobulated with
everything happening, you know, stores closing and all this kind
of stuff that those that are still fighting to stay
open this weekend, give it your best. Put your best
on that front line as they're coming in the door.
Forget about clearance, get just just get your nice stuff
(09:10):
on the front line. I promise you. You know, hair stores,
get all the hair ready, get all the not the
wild looking wigs, get you know this this. They're coming
in and they're gonna buy. They're gonna buy now. Some
gonna take the bill money and do this, and you
know they're sacrificing and they're trying to get you know,
and hopefully those who have family nearby, they're gonna celebrate
and eat. Then they're probably gonna be a couple of
(09:31):
places that's gonna have an Easter egg hunt. And I
was doing some research and I was surprised how the
Easter egg piece of it. They're trying to weave that
in into Christian thought and say that you know, the eggs,
I guess like you just said about the life and
and the celebration of newness, you know, uh, they're they're
(09:52):
they're weaving that in and and the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
So finding the eggs. I still haven't known how they
bridge that together, but that's they're trying to weave that
in a and poor Ai, you know, it's just trying
to go on what it's got. But Ai is like,
I really don't know how to get pictures up here, right,
(10:14):
So talk to us a little bit more. Now you've
open up that door very nicely, you know, just celebrating
who we are. We've got to It's not I don't
know how much more longer we as the teachers and
the preachers and the evangelists and the prophets and the
apostles are going to be able to keep trying to
(10:34):
convince people to give God a try and and and
and and not for the things God's gonna do. The
thing it's already in the word. I mean, you know,
don't feel bad if you ask him for something. Are
you're giving him right, right, you're giving him, So you
go ahead, you do.
Speaker 5 (10:53):
I just think that that that there's going to come
a time in the near future when we don't have
to go after they that they're going to be running
to us.
Speaker 4 (11:02):
They're going to be running to us. You know. The
harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few.
Speaker 5 (11:09):
I think that situations happen in order to draw people,
not unto God uh And so I think that what
we're dealing with in our world, not along in the
United States, but it's all over that people are looking
for hope and the only hope, the only.
Speaker 4 (11:30):
True hope, is in Christ Jesus.
Speaker 5 (11:32):
So I think I think it's going to be a fire,
there's going to be lit uh in the earth atmosphere
for those that want to uh to to flock to
the truth.
Speaker 4 (11:43):
A man finding the truth doors the doors of the church.
Speaker 5 (11:47):
You know, honest believe the people are going their hearts
are going to be right to receive the word or
the truth.
Speaker 2 (11:55):
Well, one of our faithful viewers, Charles uh typed in,
you know, is is it another opportunity? Is a tradition
or another reason for to dress fancy for holidays? And
people have made it both, Charles. I mean, you know
they've made it both. And we talked about we were
talking about that earlier. You know, it's a time to
go get the fancy is they look the best, so
(12:16):
we can go to church, you know, and to celebrate
that way. But we want after Sunday is over, there's Monday.
You got to go back to work. You know, did
your life change over the weekend? Was the message? Uh,
one that you can say, you know what, I'm just
gonna let go and really let God on this one,
(12:37):
because I don't know about tomorrow, and we don't want
to scare you to Christ that now. We're not doing that.
We're just talking about real life stuff and we really
want you to catch you on because Jesus says, come
to me as you are, so you know, just come
to me as you are. I don't need to fancy nothing.
I know your heart. I know what you're thinking as
(12:58):
you're walking into this anxiu wary. I know what you're
thinking about that you don't know when you get your
next paycheck, you know, how do you split it? Do
you pay the bills or do you pay the licen?
Do you get some grocery or you know, what do
I do? And we don't know what may not be available.
I know everybody's already looking at the egg costs and
(13:19):
and and how we're gonna die them, and you know,
and things like that.
Speaker 4 (13:24):
It's just a time for you to.
Speaker 2 (13:25):
Really sit back and think about just to think where
am I in Christ? Do I will I have access
to eternal life? What does that mean for me? Have
I done everything I can to this day? Have I
done everything today? And I was thinking about that all
day to day as I was doing my nonprofit work,
(13:47):
you know, doing my following my nine ninety and and
getting the solicitation charitable forms done, and I just God
wouldn't let me stop. I was just just zoo and
it was not my plan that I really want to
really be prepared for tonight. But God said, ye, get
her done and and everything fell into place, and I'm like, whoa, wow,
(14:10):
and be honest on things. And I was just thinking
about that and just really excited that you're going to
be on tonight and and and we are hoping and
praying that we all will experience a newness. We're never
too delivered, We're never too uh. This is our best
we're not at our best, right Okay, you know, I know, Pastor,
(14:34):
you know, Miguel's got the sermon coming up. He's like, okay,
a few people did respond as he'll look back and
they'll be like, okay, you know, but it's beyond that.
Their lives are going to change. We need life changing moments.
And yes, Pastor, the revival is coming.
Speaker 4 (14:50):
It's coming.
Speaker 5 (14:52):
Yeah, I think I think it's a process. You know,
the change is a process. And uh, all all we're
asked to do is uh, the seed and the watering
and the increase is totally up to God. And so
if we do what we're supposed to do, then God's
(15:13):
going to do what he's gonna do, you know. And
so let us, you know, let us get the seed
in and water and you know this time, you know
when when the churches are going to be full because
we have the c M. E Uh Christians, the Christmas,
Mother and Day and Easter folks, and the churches are
going to repack because are they coming in to see
(15:36):
you know, family coming together and and and uh, you
know they'll be in their little outfits. And in the
African American churches, we used to have a little Stout show,
you know, around that time, because they would have those.
Speaker 4 (15:51):
Cute little outfits and everything.
Speaker 5 (15:52):
You know, I think I don't know what's going on now,
but I think that's all kind of like kind of
like leaving us. You know, the awe in it, you know,
the excitement in it. I think people have just labeled
it as just another day, but it's not just another day.
Speaker 4 (16:12):
It's your resurrection day.
Speaker 3 (16:14):
Yes.
Speaker 2 (16:16):
For you. I can't name it Easter. I can't name
it Easter. I name it resurrection Day. This is a
resurrection weekend. And you know that. And the one song.
I was thinking about the song and I began to cry,
like you know, they hung him high, they stretched him wide,
he hung his head for me.
Speaker 3 (16:35):
He died.
Speaker 2 (16:36):
That's love. And I sang the whole chorus. I couldn't
believe it to day. I don't sing that song, but
it just it just kept and I just kept and
I'm hearing myself and I'm hearing the words, and it's like,
oh my god, you know, you know, that's love. That's love.
He died for us. He knew coming in this world
(16:56):
what he had to be. Most of us can't even
remember what we used to think. What we were when
we were little people. I can remember. I think it
was after the fifth through eighth grade that, you know,
because of my experience with the greatest music teacher, I
wanted to just get back to the stage. I just
wanted to get back to this to everybody wants to
be a doctor. Everybody wanted to be a nurse, everybody
want to be a teacher, everybody want to be a firefighter. No,
(17:17):
I wanted to get back to the stage. That's all
I can remember that I ever said out loud. And
now I want to be his child. I want to
be his daughter. I want to be everything he has
purposed me to be. And that's you know, that's love.
Because I can't imagine at age twelve me going into
the church at Saint John Missionary Baptist Church telling him, oh,
(17:42):
I got a word for you.
Speaker 4 (17:44):
I can't imagine that.
Speaker 2 (17:45):
It is twelve, you know, and I barely get sing
in the choir, the adult choir. So yes, Pastor, you're right,
Pastor Miguel, you want to say something.
Speaker 3 (17:54):
To It's interesting that Pastor Michelle and I have the
same the same thought process because I'm speaking on I'm
speaking after Easter and what many people don't you know
that that seems to be a very difficult follow up
(18:15):
after Easter, because you know what, what what do people
talk about? And Pastor Michelle really touched on it and
I named a sermon process because nobody really understands. I mean,
I'm going to be touching on the four soils, but
how I'm going to be delivering it. The Holy Spirit
(18:39):
delivered it to me during breakfast while I was talking
to my wife, how we as Christians, how we are
the four soils, how we are hard and the seeds
fall on us, and how we walk away and step
(18:59):
on them because we feel that we don't need Jesus.
And I'm putting how we all the different stages that
we go through, and then when the Word finally penetrates
into us, how we are able to do thirty sixty
and one hundredfold by the people we touch. So this
(19:19):
to me is something very vital in a Christian's walk,
because yes, Easter becomes a very tactful day where people understand, yes,
Rice went in as a king, he was hung like
a thief when that all happened in a period of
(19:39):
five days, where people don't understand faith is not feeling.
Faith is a lifestyle, and this is why we have
to understand. You know, we can't feel that we're a
Christian today because we're not getting answered prayer by God,
we're not going to be a Christian. No, it's not
(20:01):
about that. You don't if you don't see God. But
faith is believing in what you don't see, and that's
what he grew touches on. So why we have to
understand that faith is not what we see. Faith is
how we live. They trust that when Jesus said I
(20:25):
will I will come back on the third day, what's
a promise? And people don't want to understand that that
promise is what gives us the hope that we know
that Jesus does not lie. Jesus doesn't create stories to
attract us. No, Jesus was teaching us what it is
(20:46):
like to.
Speaker 6 (20:47):
Live in the Kingdom of God and what it really
means to follow in his footsteps, to live faithfully like
the prophet lived faithfully to God.
Speaker 3 (21:00):
And they delivered it and people didn't like the truth.
So what did they do? They killed the prophets. Just
as innocent as he was, he was telling the truth.
Guess what happened to Christ. So we already know people
are not going to like the truth. But we have
to trust in God that what we do for him,
(21:22):
it's because we do it because we trust him, we
have faith, we love him with our heart, mind, spirit, strength,
as it says.
Speaker 4 (21:33):
Amen, Amen, Amen, Amen.
Speaker 5 (21:36):
And now if I could just piggyback on what I
what I hear in that, maybe my sermon with the
four souls and the process is that we all are
one of those types of souls in certain seasons of
our lives. And we've all been you know, the but
(22:00):
the thorny, the thorny, the one that go down. We've
all been that in the process of getting to that
that's the soil where everything is just right, and and
and then we might go back, you know, come forward.
What what My thing that that I look at, that
(22:22):
that's been my stability is that I might not act right,
you know, like Christian dumb would want me to act
or do like the textbook whatever like that. But I
am so thankful to God that He looks on my
heart where the man.
Speaker 4 (22:39):
Looks on the outside.
Speaker 5 (22:42):
You can say what you see that God sees what
he says about me?
Speaker 2 (22:50):
Amen?
Speaker 3 (22:50):
Amen?
Speaker 4 (22:52):
I mean, I just I don't have.
Speaker 2 (22:57):
On paper.
Speaker 4 (22:58):
When when I was asked to come on here tonight.
Speaker 2 (23:01):
I'm.
Speaker 3 (23:06):
Michelle. You touched on something. You touched on something that
that people need to understand something And and I'm gonna
go deep here in the Old Testament, when David was
picked being the king of trial, people don't understand. People
may not know David wasn't the illustrious person. He was
(23:31):
a sign. He was a love child. People don't understand.
As a love child, he became the trill turned out
to be the most powerful because he was convicted by God,
and and and and that that goes to show and
that's something that that that we have to understand and
(23:53):
and miss Gray, you touched on it. We have to
come to God as we are.
Speaker 4 (24:01):
Man.
Speaker 3 (24:02):
He's the one that he's the one that dusts us off.
He's the one that cleans us with the blood. So
he wants us the way we are, because if he
wanted perfection, guess what we would all be non existent?
Right now?
Speaker 2 (24:16):
Amen?
Speaker 3 (24:17):
Amen, I think, go ahead ahead, mister tray, go ahead.
Speaking when I was.
Speaker 7 (24:27):
Here, I go, but don't just pick you back and
on what what pastor was saying it's God's message, but
when it's delivered through through the leader of the organization,
you know, the church or whatever. Just making sure that
this conveyed God said, come as you are, because some
people are intimidated by going into the church because they
(24:51):
don't have you know, so let let's let's let's you know,
be clear. I know a few people that said, I
don't have the outfit or or I don't know if
I measure up to go in, and what if they
ask for uh tithings or offerings and I don't have that.
You know, it's it's a process, you know. And there's
(25:12):
some people with church hurt, you know. Unfortunately, there's some
church hurt there. And sometimes it starts with no offense
to anyone. It starts at the top that that's where
the hurt came. And then some other folks that not recognizing. Okay,
when you want people to come in, that's as you are.
Speaker 2 (25:30):
That that's whatever.
Speaker 7 (25:31):
Your sin may be, whatever you look like, whatever you're
wearing not you know, you need to be respectful really
not coming anyotype. But if it's jeans, if it's neat,
you know, if if it's somebody a homeless person or
somebody's walking.
Speaker 2 (25:47):
Down the street and they hadn't showered in a few
days or whatever, because they don't.
Speaker 7 (25:50):
You know, we need to make sure that we welcome
the people.
Speaker 2 (25:54):
Because there's sick people in the church.
Speaker 7 (25:55):
They're there to get well, right, And I think people
because do I measure up going before the Lord in
front of these.
Speaker 3 (26:04):
People who are judging me?
Speaker 7 (26:07):
And I try to push that because I've seen it
and unfortunately I've experienced some of that myself. And what
I try to do.
Speaker 8 (26:16):
Go ahead, I'm sorry, And so what its to is,
you know, sometimes we have to take the message outside
of the four walls so people can see, Yes, we
do come out, we as Christians do come out, and
we don't have to have church inside here.
Speaker 2 (26:32):
Come on a law, you know what I mean.
Speaker 7 (26:34):
It's something serial and sermonal, something that just just to
make it fun. Well, it's not so intimidating, and then
that's how people grab Okay, this is not so bad.
It's not what I thought, not what I perceived it
to be, not what I see on television, not what
I see people posting on Facebook with these things that
are so scary. Maybe I can go on. Because people
(26:56):
greeted me with kindness, and they show Christian in value
what what Jesus would probably show a man.
Speaker 5 (27:05):
And it all goes back to the heart. You can't
do it unless you have the heart to do it.
And people who are not Christians can sense it when
you faking it. They'll come for you when you're faking it.
Speaker 3 (27:22):
You know.
Speaker 5 (27:22):
It's kind of like they know how we're supposed to offer,
but we don't have that, you know. So uh, yeah,
I understand where you're coming coming from. But for any
anyone who has experienced church hurt, my thing would but
would be to tell them to uh, let God get
(27:44):
you through it, get a good support team. Because being
a uh in the female in the ministry, I was
shunned and and a lot of places uh and talked
about and uh and uh even before I became pastor,
(28:10):
I was treated very very bad because of of what
the gift that God the gifts that God had given me,
and it was it was so bad to where you know,
if I hadn't heard God say keep on going, then
I would have turned back and ran and and wouldn't
be where I am today. But we've you've got to
(28:33):
just presevere and and uh know, that the voices you
you know, the voices that that are telling you the
opposite thing. Uh, you just have to learn how to
rebuke that and and get close to God and and
and and be able to hear his voice. I honestly
wouldn't be where I am today had I listened to
all the other voices in my head having a traumatic
(28:56):
past as a child, and I'm thinking that I deserved
to be in this uh place, you know, as pastor.
But God told me to come on, and I followed
his voice and not the other voices of you know
that we're in my head.
Speaker 4 (29:16):
So every one of us that are.
Speaker 3 (29:18):
Called on at stages asking why did people treat you
like that?
Speaker 2 (29:23):
Because they're mean.
Speaker 5 (29:24):
They like that because of the tradition of women not
being in in ministry, and they didn't understand. And it
was mostly male pastors that did not understand that God,
God is a god of all and God can call
(29:45):
whoever he wants to call. And my my thing is
if God, if if if the woman birthed the word,
then why can't she birth the word.
Speaker 3 (29:55):
The word?
Speaker 4 (29:56):
Then why can't she carry the word and birth? And
it worked in other people? Uh, you know, let's not.
Speaker 3 (30:03):
I guess they didn't read your Bible where they said
that women went into the tomb before the disciples. I
don't know the woman, the woman at the well, very Magdalen.
Speaker 2 (30:16):
Yeah, you know, Ann No, believe me, he's not in there.
They're like, it's married. So we all grieve it.
Speaker 5 (30:25):
It's not it's this, This is this has been a fight,
fight for a long time. Jesus came and he he
showed that women have a right. This is just as
well as men.
Speaker 4 (30:37):
We are all equal in his sight, you know.
Speaker 5 (30:40):
And uh, and we're all there to do what what
he wants us to do is is to help seek
and save the laws.
Speaker 4 (30:47):
And it takes all of us doing that. You know.
Speaker 5 (30:50):
And you talk about the pastor, Well, the pastor is
one person, but then there's a whole church that the
that the world, that that the community is looking at,
not just the pastor, you know, to church. I come home,
I go get some food, and I come home. But
then the members are the ones that are out there.
Speaker 4 (31:09):
And uh.
Speaker 5 (31:10):
And so if we can equip the members to do
with God the mission, if we can equip the members
for the mission in God's ministry would prevail.
Speaker 2 (31:22):
Sorry, you were treated that way. This is Missy saying
glad you kept pushing to get where you are. Now
that's fair, Thank you, missy, thank you.
Speaker 3 (31:30):
And what Master Michelle's talking about is Ephesians for the
Fivefold Ministry. She's a pastor. What she's doing is she's
equipping the body of Christ. And that's that's what we're
supposed to do. And if you can go you can
even go back to Genesis one twenty six. God created
male and female, and so there's a reason there. And
(31:55):
you know, I understand that that the dogma of the
male should be leading the church, but that that's what
religion says.
Speaker 5 (32:04):
Right right, and and and and when.
Speaker 3 (32:07):
We are walking, when we are walking the path that
the Holy Spirit puts us through, it's a matter of
God using us. That's in that's in Psalms twenty four
to one. He God uses everything for his purpose, So
he even enemies, he uses for his purpose for God
(32:29):
to receive the glory. So who are we? And and
and I'm sorry I'm getting all my soapbox here, but
i got to tell you something. This religion stuff, okay,
is what's killing the church. That's exactly what it is.
And and it's religion that crucified Christy, and that's we
(32:50):
don't understand that. And and this is why faith is
a relationship with Christ. How the Holy Spirit uses you.
It's between you and the Holy Spirit and God who
appointed the Holy Spirit. So this is why we have
to understand that when God calls us, it's for his purpose,
(33:13):
not man's purpose. And that was the downfall of Saul.
He wanted he got the kingdom, and he wanted it
all for himself until God said I'm done with you.
I'm going to get a boy who's after my own heart.
And that was Amen.
Speaker 2 (33:29):
And I want to add these two pieces. I want
to I'm a segue a little bit, but we're gonna
be able to loop it around. Easter eggs have a
dual significance, one symbolic and the other related to the
Christian holiday Amen. It is in Christianity, Easter eggs represent
Jesus resurrection and the empty tomb, simolizing new life, and
(33:54):
andes have also been a symbol of fertility and rebirth
in various pagan culture and these traditions were adapted into
the Christian Easter celebration. So I don't remember any of
my my pastors explaining why we had the Easter egg
hunt after service, they never correlated that to the tune
(34:18):
and Jesus Rising all and new hope and new birth.
That they never drew that line. Now, this is what
they're saying now as to the reason why we have
the Easter egg and what it's supposed to symbolize. I
was talking to my younger sister this morning, and I said,
I don't have to ever go to Africa to find myself.
I find myself in the Word of God. I got
(34:40):
Uncle David. Speaking of David, I've got cousin Solomon, I
got cousin Joshua. Those are my peeps, Auntie, Deborah, Auntie Ruth,
Auntie Esther. Okay, those are my people. You know, Lydya
who remained in the church. You know, those are my
That's my identity because that's where I really found my self,
(35:00):
going deep into it, doing my research, studying to show
myself a proof that I can rightly divide the truth
and not what my future was gonna look like, you see.
And going back to what you said, pastor, you know,
if we didn't have the Lord, I was able to
minister to her that the whole in our heart is real.
(35:23):
We don't know as a whole, but it's real. I
was adopted. She wasn't, but she was raised an only
child by her single mom. But she still has a whole.
I have to leave chatting, but I will listening to
the car driving. Okay, Charles, thank you before I stopped
chatting to the appreciate. But to be able to tell
(35:46):
her the whole in your heart, only Jesus can feel it.
Only Jesus can feel it. And if you would study
his word, I said most And you're going to be
so uptight when you start really studying, getting in the scripture.
Anybody like, what this authority? What is expecting me to
do this?
Speaker 3 (36:06):
Right?
Speaker 2 (36:06):
This is the power I do have? Right, these are
the supporting elements around me. Is getting stuck on little things.
That's why you can't listen to small conversation. I can't.
I'm like, so, what are we gonna do now? What's
what's next? Now that you brought this to the surface,
what are your action steps? You know? Don't tell me, Oh,
(36:28):
we went on this fast, were on the Daniels Fast.
We'll see somebody called it the Daniels Fast because of
the foods that you're restricting in the foods that you're
eating according to what biblically was you know, pronounced the
share of the Bible. When you go on the fast,
you are supposed to come out of there a little different.
You're not supposed to be looking the same, and I
(36:48):
supposed to be talking the same. And you can just
do this and you don't have to have a title,
just grabbing your word and say, you know what, I'm
I'm gonna just learn a scripture a day. It's so funny.
I'm on this script your challenge. And I already told
I think I told one of my sons. I said, no,
I'm taking this the next month. This is just going
to be because God answered my prayer. I really thought
(37:09):
that I would need to go and study and read,
you know, read the word all over again, right right,
because you know, I'm like, okay, I'm missing scripture. I
can't remember. I'm trying to. I know it's Old Testament,
but you know, and thank God for Google. But he
answered body, he said, no, do a scripture to day.
Just do a scripture day. But I'm like, thank you,
(37:29):
Oh that is that scripture? Okay? You know, and everything
the whole point. We would want and hope that you
will understand the need to give your life to Christ
if you feel compelled. And how you would know is
that there will be a conviction. There's going to be
a pull on you. Sometimes you can't even sleep until
(37:52):
you grab your word and say okay, and with your
phone and you're looking for what am I looking for?
And the Bible opens up and there's the scripture to
speak to your life, speak to your problem. That's how
he works. That's how he works. That's how he works.
And he gave me. When I talked to my sister
this morning, I said, oh my god, my god, she
said what I said? He just gave me revelation. He
just gave me an answer to that. Because I'm like,
(38:12):
what's my next? I know it's bigger than what I've
ever done before. I can feel the happiness, and you
lift it off of me. And you're changing things. You're
changing how I'm eating, You're changing how I'm dressing. My
walk eyes to you, my walk is different. I don't
shuffle anymore.
Speaker 4 (38:30):
Amen. Amen.
Speaker 2 (38:32):
You can hear me coming. I don't shuffle anymore.
Speaker 4 (38:36):
Amen. Amen.
Speaker 2 (38:40):
And he gave me, he said yes, he needs you
on the wall praying. But for everybody you see, I
know you've done it before, but this time I need
you to go in old Testament style. I said, Man,
I can do that. It's on it popping now. Yes,
And I didn't fuss too much in the cart arrange
(39:02):
when I went out earlier. So I'm changing. Look at me,
I am changing, even though that was Jennifer Holiday drive
every way. I can come on come on now, I mean,
come on, come on all right. Time is running by,
(39:23):
pastor you want to add anything to this? What what
the believers? Now, let's let's let's talk to us, us
on the wall. Us for believers who have blacked off.
Speaker 5 (39:35):
M okay for listen to this, for believers who have
have a lesson their believing. Uh, God's gonna catch catch,
He's gonna He's gonna catch He's gonna get your attention.
And because that's what he does, I'm I'm just gonna
(39:57):
use this example just if I can, just as fast
as I can say it, because I know time is
coming up. But if I can use this example as
my husband's starting a men's ministry at the church for
men mentoring men, and it's like the age forties in
that area. Somewhere in the room. Well he started out.
(40:18):
It was something in him that said, I just want
to get these bibles for the men. I can get
them into their hands. Well, we didn't know that put
in that bible, the Word of God in their hands
would be something that would like the fire. So now
the men are carrying their bibles, not in their phone,
but in their hands to church and they're getting other
(40:40):
men saying, hey, you got to come to church so
you can get your bible. And we just had somebody
come to church last Sunday talking about I want my Bible,
I want I want the Word of God. I want
the Word of God. These are guys that have never
done this before and they're coming. So if hey, we
just have to be ready. Just pray that the church
would be ready when they come and and and uh,
(41:03):
you know, just to be we.
Speaker 4 (41:04):
Just have to be ready.
Speaker 5 (41:06):
God, give us a ready heart, give us already heart
to receive those that you're want to call until the church.
Speaker 3 (41:13):
Oh wow, Jesus can fill that hole. Thank you. Thank
God for Jesus teaching God, bless you go past their fears.
Speaker 4 (41:23):
Thank you.
Speaker 2 (41:27):
Not in the house I'm scared. Well, this is what
he does, and he don't. What's that saying? He don't.
He don't call the qualify, he qualify, the call the call.
He don't. Oh you're this, Oh you're an orator, or
you're this. He may have you sit in the back
(41:49):
and pray for everybody coming in, but I want to.
But I'm gonna speaker. Lord, I can do yeah, but
I need you to write a book. Write a book.
You know, my writing skills are nowhere in there. He said,
that's so, hey, Moses, that's okay, Dejeremiah. I got this,
I really do. I know you don't. You know, Paul, disciples,
you got to accept them. You don't have to be
(42:10):
a part of you, because he can walk along, Jesus,
he can walk along.
Speaker 4 (42:16):
Amen.
Speaker 2 (42:17):
He don't have to be a part of you. But
he's one of my mind. Three men, one of mine,
and you can't tell me nothing different. I believe that
sword they say he yielded that sword. His sword was heavy.
Sometime they describe it as that. And he was right
into the churches. And he's so precious that first few
statements be you know, brother, and I hear you do
(42:37):
it well? And hope everything's good. Do I need to
send my son Timothy? Or when I get out, I'm
coming to see you. They're like, oh God, And then
I forgot the man of preaks, the work that Paul said,
he coming. I don't know what you mean, what did
you do?
Speaker 4 (42:54):
I didn't do anything.
Speaker 2 (42:58):
Why ain't gonna say? I don't know where he's gonna stay.
Can you imagine those compensations? But Paul, I want to say,
he wrote with his right hand, that hand that yielded
that sword. He retired the sword and took up the
pen amen, however, and they were still scared the death
of him. He had the death of it. But they
(43:19):
were like, he's different, but uh sure, God will change
you in the twinkling of an eye. You're right on
that edge. You're right on that cuss. Just let it go,
just let go. We made it. And like the masters
said earlier, you know, yeah, we've all walked that prickly road,
(43:40):
you know, yeah, we were all in deepest sword. I
ain't even think I was worthy.
Speaker 9 (43:44):
And I'm too amen, you know, And I thank God,
I thank God, I thank God, I thank God he
chose us.
Speaker 2 (43:55):
If you don't want to believe anything else you don't
want to. Look how people have you. Look how your
family has disowned you. Look how your family talked about you.
Look how you know never supported you, didn't help you
to get through college, didn't help you with all those people.
But I still gotta forgive him. Yeah, I was meant
to be You weren't meant to help me. Yes, but
he scholarship. Here, here's an opportunity. Here, we're reducing the
(44:19):
rate of the of the of the the tuition here.
What yeah, hold on Now, he's the author and the
finisher of the me. He's the AFA and they'll make it.
He's the beginning and the end, and he does very
well with the end between the process helping us. And
he waited on us. I can't speak to nobody, but
(44:41):
he waited because he's that's my chosen She coming to me.
It may be in her latter years where she's coming
to me. He's coming to me. He waited, and he's
waiting on you all just to say, yes, you know
what I'm done. I'm done. To put on your best
this week, stud of your word before Thursday, before Friday,
(45:04):
study your word pad and pencil, journal, let down, write
it down, make your memory, make your mind remember that
scripture and the reason why for the scripture, and go
into any sanctuary with a new attitude this week, new
attitude like you know what, it's not gonna be the same.
(45:24):
I'm not gonna be the same. I'm not gonna be
the same. I'm not. I'm leaving here with a newness.
I'm leaving here understanding. I'm leaving here with a decision
I have to make now because my life depends on it. Amen,
my life depends on it. So churches would speak to
the leaders out there, those of you who have your churches. Now,
(45:45):
if people come in and they're strangers, you've never seen them,
but they stay on their knees, leave them alone. You
better get cleanex boxes all over the church. Leave them alone,
because some of that that they're dragging in, they're gonna
make it, but they're gonna drag again. Don't you dare,
Don't you dare? Continue on, don't you dare. It's not
(46:05):
about service, not about formality. It's about saving souls, even
those who are regulars, and even in the Old testa
maymon I should maybe I shouldn't bring this up, but
you know, only once a year. They went up to
the Holy Temple, some of them. We can't go back
to that. If there's a temple, open a synagogue, open
(46:25):
a church, open, make your way there in the church.
Is all you need to do is get the clean
ux boxes, or get the tissue, the rolls of tissue,
and put her on every every row. Get ready, get ready,
because he rose, He rolls a victor in the dark domain,
and he lives forever with the saints ter rain. He rolls,
(46:48):
rolls Loulia. Thank you Jesus Christ, the rose. When you
study your scripture, especially in the four Gospels, Matthew, Mark,
Luke or John, you see why we celebrate the fact
that he arose. He said on the third day, Yes,
he said, on the third day, he said, but oops,
I gotta go make a detour. I'll be right back
(47:10):
with the hell. Didn't even know he was coming, and
took the keys of death, and the sting of the
green took him and say, not so so for you
little people, now, this is the other folks, real quick,
for you little people in Texas over there, having you
a little meeting, you know, and putting the upside the
cross upside down on your face. Man, you never You
(47:34):
will never disgrace my God because that fool you follow.
All he's doing is mimicking. He's trying to disturb and
stir up mess. This is christ Week specifically, and billions
of people will celebrate it, not you. That's our time.
We love you. We'll see you next week.
Speaker 4 (47:55):
I'm saves you. Try you
