Speaker 3 (01:08):
I'm so glad to finally make it here. Everybody, Hey, world,
what's up?
Speaker 2 (01:13):
Okay? Yeah, So talking about yourself?
Speaker 3 (01:16):
So first of all, proud woman from south Side Jamaica Queens. Okay,
funny because I started writing in twenty twenty during the
pandemic and I was in a situation ship and it
was no way I couldn't write about what had happened
to me.
Speaker 4 (01:34):
So that's how it all start. COVID, you know, time palls.
Speaker 3 (01:39):
Going through the Germanics, and I said, you know what,
the best revenge is paper?
Speaker 4 (01:43):
So how to do it?
Speaker 2 (01:45):
Okay? Okay? Yes, the author of.
Speaker 1 (01:50):
Some of which are like no sliding on the screen
right now, watching the twitch speed.
Speaker 2 (01:57):
Yeah, so put such a Okay, So I'm going to writing.
Speaker 4 (02:15):
I'm having some trouble hearing. I'm just checking the.
Speaker 2 (02:17):
Sound, all right, how do I find now? How do
I found?
Speaker 5 (02:23):
Now?
Speaker 4 (02:24):
It sounds a little bit better?
Speaker 3 (02:25):
So you know, basically, like I was talking from Souxoge
mc queens started fighting because of the situationship in twenty
twenty and that's all sort of like the whole writing game,
but full time teacher teaching children, and that's where I'm.
Speaker 1 (02:42):
At right now, Okay, And it was like a it
was like a like a love interest type of situationship.
It definitely was, Okay, how did the how did a
perfect love go wrong?
Speaker 2 (02:56):
Wanna go to get to it?
Speaker 6 (03:03):
Went?
Speaker 3 (03:04):
This was a situation that I didn't need to be in.
And I think sometime as women like we're just we
don't keep it.
Speaker 4 (03:10):
Real with ourselves. So I saw all the red.
Speaker 3 (03:13):
Flags, but I ignored it until I just had enough
and I just had to get out of the situation.
Speaker 4 (03:20):
That's what it was.
Speaker 1 (03:22):
Okay, Okay, But but so that prompted So that would
that prompted your writing?
Speaker 2 (03:32):
I can't hear you.
Speaker 4 (03:35):
It definitely did. Prompt my writing, for sure.
Speaker 3 (03:39):
I just definitely just was inspired by uncomfortable events and
a lot of times we're just inspired by certain things,
and it's it's it's tough to come out and talk
about because we're embarrassed. If that makes sense.
Speaker 2 (03:54):
That makes sense, that makes sense.
Speaker 1 (03:57):
Okay, Okay, So you have you have a very big,
very huge, very vast body of work as far as
your authorship, right, so yes, tell us about Yeah, some
of them, I've listened, right, hair, it's like a few
the Haitian Thief.
Speaker 2 (04:17):
What else we got here? Uh? Student of the Month.
Speaker 7 (04:21):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (04:21):
This actually credit some in the month Alatto in Georgia
and my best seller Warm Chocolate and Red Wine Memoirs
of Black Experiences Value one and two tongue arguments. I
had a crush on Michael Jackson, the Chesapeake Monster, to
have quite a few.
Speaker 1 (04:38):
Okay, tell us about your latest. Your latest, elast One
Hatian Thief.
Speaker 3 (04:45):
Haitian Thief inspired me because I'm surrounded by Haitians and
when I can't say, they are such a proud group
of people. And the story is about a Haitian girl
who typically wants to make her parents proud. You know,
she's doing it the Haitian way, the typical nurse and doctor.
Speaker 4 (05:06):
But she makes her parents proud in the novel, but
it takes some twisting turns. Okay, if that makes sense.
Speaker 3 (05:14):
So I think I can speak for every Caribbean and
I'm not knocking Americans.
Speaker 4 (05:19):
I'm a painful American.
Speaker 2 (05:21):
But it's just.
Speaker 3 (05:22):
Something about when you have Haitian parents, they just expect
certain things and a lot of people do not understand
the pressure that comes with it.
Speaker 4 (05:30):
It's very difficult.
Speaker 2 (05:33):
Okay, Okay, Well can we what can we look forward?
In The Haitian Thief.
Speaker 3 (05:38):
You can look forward to triumph, laughter, murder, victory, so
many things to look forward to. I think I can
speak for every Hatian because I let the Haitian community
read the book first before I released it, and that's
how much respect I have the community. So they read
it first and it was like, you know what, I
like what this is saying. I like what this is doing.
(06:00):
And what you can't expect is victory, happiness. You can
expect to see the story that you're uncomfortable telling to
be told for you.
Speaker 1 (06:10):
You can expect that, they say they say all writings
by biographical right, I thought so like when you said
that hate, so I say this to say, right, so,
what so, what's what's your background?
Speaker 2 (06:24):
I was thinking along that you're Haitian.
Speaker 4 (06:27):
I am not Haitian. I'm an American girl.
Speaker 3 (06:31):
I have a Southern mother and I have a Jamaican Hawaiian.
Speaker 1 (06:35):
Father, Hawaiian father. Okay, yes, okay, but so that's coming up.
So it's still coming up right up on the Haitian thief.
Speaker 4 (06:47):
Yes it is.
Speaker 3 (06:48):
It will be released July the seventh. Actually that's the
release date, July the seventh. I felt it was my
duty to present it to the Haitian community first.
Speaker 4 (07:00):
I just felt it was something that I should do.
Speaker 3 (07:03):
And you know, forgive my moving around working and you
know him that seen visible with you, but I just
felt it was just a need to just really release
it to the Haitian community first because it's their culture,
and I felt like their opinions truly mattered how they felt,
what they would be receptive of, what they wouldn't be
receptive of. So I definitely, you know, made it where
(07:28):
it can be something that they can be proud of.
Speaker 2 (07:32):
Okay, okay, okay, so you have that coming up? What
else we have coming up?
Speaker 1 (07:39):
You have a lot of stuff on your on your itinerary,
So what else we have coming up?
Speaker 3 (07:45):
I also have coming up The Mistake. It's about a
woman who explores her sexuality and it's a mistake. So
she's going to take on one real life, genuine things
and her past is trying to hinder the blessings that
are for her. I also have coming out sixty three
ninety it's about someone who was saved by a police
(08:07):
officer from suicide.
Speaker 4 (08:09):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (08:11):
I also have another book coming out called Hotly Shi
t and Do I't Want to Curse Online And it's
just about people who are righteous that are vindicating for
people who are bullied and weaponized because they're trying to
live a Christian life.
Speaker 4 (08:25):
So it's a lot that I have going on, a
lot for sure.
Speaker 1 (08:32):
Okay, okay, so right now, right with a part of
my notes, Yes, I'm going to list a book title
and you give me like a brief synopsis of it,
all right.
Speaker 2 (08:45):
Go for it? All right? So you ever get the Mistake.
Speaker 1 (08:51):
A lotto in Georgia. Oh, if you're speaking, I'm not
hearing you. I think you're covering the mic. Yeah, it's
just a bunch of movements right now. I'm not really
(09:11):
sure what's going on. Yeah, she's the camp's moving all
over the place and not really it's trying to Yeah,
I'm not I'm not the text or something unless.
Speaker 4 (09:27):
Hello, I'm sorry to hear you.
Speaker 2 (09:34):
No, no, I didn't hear you. That's what trying to say.
I think you're covering the mic or something with the camera.
Speaker 7 (09:41):
Oh right, yeah, well I think.
Speaker 2 (09:46):
Uh, Mulata and Georgia tell me about that.
Speaker 8 (09:50):
Bomb.
Speaker 4 (09:52):
It's a lot of girl.
Speaker 3 (09:54):
In the South who has a white father and a
black mother and pretty much struggling through just through her
like just being biracial.
Speaker 2 (10:07):
M hm.
Speaker 4 (10:08):
And you know, it's just basically grown up in the South.
Speaker 3 (10:12):
Just it's just like a lot of different things, the
racism and stuff like that.
Speaker 2 (10:17):
Okay, mm hmmm. Of the Month.
Speaker 3 (10:22):
Sudent of the Month is a second rendition to extra
credit learning more than just chemistry.
Speaker 4 (10:29):
And if you.
Speaker 3 (10:30):
Read that first book, it's about a student and teacher affair.
Speaker 2 (10:34):
Okay, okay, stop.
Speaker 4 (10:42):
Ah, I think I'm gonna say that one for our
next interview.
Speaker 2 (10:47):
Okay, all right, Things David talk.
Speaker 3 (10:54):
Wrong, Things David taught me, Things David taught Me is
is about just a friend who inspires you to be.
Speaker 4 (11:04):
Your better self.
Speaker 2 (11:06):
Okay, and that's what it is. Okay.
Speaker 4 (11:09):
He just you know someone in your life that pushed
you to be who you.
Speaker 2 (11:13):
Are, Okay, Okay, Tongue Arguments.
Speaker 3 (11:20):
Tongue Arguments is about four short stories about just people
who just live on the edge and just take a
chance and just take a chance of just living their
life to the fullest extent.
Speaker 2 (11:36):
Okay, Okay, I said we're almost done. I was wrong, But.
Speaker 4 (11:40):
I got so many books.
Speaker 3 (11:42):
But I want you to choose the ones that that
you feel are just the ones that stick out to you.
Speaker 1 (11:49):
Okay, h thing in my link, I'm curious for all
these times.
Speaker 2 (11:59):
Tell me, no, staying in my lane.
Speaker 4 (12:02):
That staying in my lane is about just people who
mind their own business. You know, they're not.
Speaker 3 (12:08):
Worried about anyone's life and how they're living it, and
just how it's just so much more peaceful to just
mind your own business, worry about yourself, and not getting
involved in things that don't concern you.
Speaker 9 (12:23):
Okay, So rook next year I have here. Right, They're
all about men to some degree, right, so.
Speaker 5 (12:35):
Like so like.
Speaker 2 (12:42):
To do them. But how you from the right value.
Speaker 8 (12:59):
Men?
Speaker 2 (12:59):
Value action.
Speaker 3 (13:01):
All men choose who to date, women choose going to
marry that one. Yeah, that's about how ultimately, I'm sorry, fellas,
men have the ultimate authority about who they choose to
be with, not really women, because men can have anything
at any aspect of their life.
Speaker 4 (13:19):
And that's just it, and that's just it.
Speaker 3 (13:23):
It's just about how, you know, women just kind of
fail to understand, like you know, ultimately, you know, men.
Speaker 4 (13:30):
Just at the upper hand of certain situations.
Speaker 3 (13:35):
We do make a lot of choices as women, but
as you know, when it comes to men, they have
the upper hand.
Speaker 4 (13:41):
There's a lot of situations when it comes to like
the world of love.
Speaker 2 (13:46):
Okay, okaymen.
Speaker 3 (13:49):
The number five Gentlemen is about the average working men
and how women just don't respect them, and they should
because guess what, the average person, they're not making six figures.
They're making enough to live and do what they have
to do, and I feel like that should be honored
and respected, and a lot of times women they just don't.
Speaker 4 (14:10):
They just don't respect it.
Speaker 8 (14:11):
You know.
Speaker 3 (14:12):
They have all these and I'm sorry, ladies, and they're
gonna hate, like Tony what he's saying. They have all
these lists of rules, and it's just like, you know,
this is the kind of lifestyle your father lived, your
grandfather lived.
Speaker 4 (14:26):
They had a job, they worked, they paid the bills
and that was it.
Speaker 2 (14:31):
Why do you think that is?
Speaker 3 (14:33):
I think a lot of it is pressure social media,
just this just this idea of you just have to
have all these demands. A lot of people like they
have demands that honestly they're not living up to. And
a lot of times with women, they have these demands.
Speaker 4 (14:52):
That they're not living up to, but they expect to
get it.
Speaker 2 (14:55):
M okay, demand for beard? Why why, I'm sorry. Never
trust a man with the beard.
Speaker 4 (15:05):
Oh, because that's a grown man.
Speaker 3 (15:07):
I'm mature man that has lived life and they're probably
the beard, the gray.
Speaker 4 (15:12):
I call the Silver Crew silver foxes. They're proud of that.
Speaker 3 (15:17):
So when I wrote that story and inspired me with
all of kind of the ogs and everything, you know,
with my fatherish generation growing up, my uncle's generation growing up.
Speaker 4 (15:30):
So yeah, never trust a man without it.
Speaker 2 (15:34):
I mean the pending.
Speaker 4 (15:35):
I'm sorry, I see he shaved you as I'm sorry.
Speaker 1 (15:38):
Yeah, I wanna say the pending trying to track him
in a man right like like.
Speaker 2 (15:43):
Me personal right, I think there's someone attracted. That's I'm
always shaving.
Speaker 4 (15:48):
Oh, beers are very attractive me personally.
Speaker 1 (15:52):
I never thought beers were attractive, Like, I never thought
that's that's why I'm always shaved?
Speaker 2 (15:59):
Would I would? How old is it my tongue? How
old do you think? I am?
Speaker 4 (16:04):
Thirty two?
Speaker 1 (16:05):
How dare you.
Speaker 2 (16:07):
Really?
Speaker 4 (16:08):
You carry yourself like someone in the dirties?
Speaker 2 (16:13):
Oh?
Speaker 4 (16:13):
Please almost there?
Speaker 10 (16:14):
Come on?
Speaker 2 (16:17):
Mm hmm okay, cool cool, cool cool cool that the.
Speaker 1 (16:24):
I mean, well, that's funny too, Like I have people
tell me right about sister for example, right, she said,
if I grew up beard, if I trimmed it nice,
like I could look I can look attractive.
Speaker 2 (16:34):
I trimmed it like Like.
Speaker 1 (16:36):
What's the same of a guy? He's like he's kind
of big, like the like the nineties R and B.
He's kind of big, kind of I think I think
the name is no, no not not not drum up
for the big guy.
Speaker 2 (16:53):
He's like an R and B singer. Keep sweat, keep sweat?
Speaker 11 (16:57):
What is that?
Speaker 4 (16:57):
Big?
Speaker 2 (16:59):
Is big? Big? Audience?
Speaker 4 (17:01):
The biggest size.
Speaker 2 (17:03):
Keeps? When is big?
Speaker 1 (17:04):
I don't think so keep sweat As I'm confusing him.
Speaker 4 (17:08):
Talking about starter, who's talking.
Speaker 2 (17:11):

Speaker 4 (17:17):
One right, No, that's not skinny Lavert.
Speaker 2 (17:21):
Hold on google this real quick. I'm like confusing about
R and B.
Speaker 4 (17:25):
It's Lavert, sweat and Gil. So who are you talking about?
Speaker 2 (17:29):
The big one? There's a big one.
Speaker 4 (17:34):
I'm not sure who he's speaking about.
Speaker 2 (17:36):
Okay, you ever watch Jamie Fox and sitcom?
Speaker 1 (17:38):
Yes, okay, remember when his mom was getting married to
the young.
Speaker 2 (17:43):

Speaker 4 (18:22):

Speaker 3 (18:29):
Yes, yeah, you feel yes, yes, yes, he passed away.
Speaker 2 (18:35):
If I if I if I could grow up? If

Speaker 2 (18:45):
You are sex.
Speaker 4 (18:46):
You don't worry about it.
Speaker 2 (18:46):

Speaker 4 (18:52):
It should be. You know you look good, you know
you're sexy. Don't worry about anything.
Speaker 2 (18:56):
My thing is preserved, your youth, that's my thing. But
I guess both could be.
Speaker 3 (19:01):

Speaker 1 (22:43):
Okay, So now okay, So I was saying that I'm
gonna take to this question.
Speaker 2 (22:54):
Listeners, Okay, all right.
Speaker 11 (23:02):
You're gonna take some questions now, Okay.
Speaker 1 (23:04):
That's that's why I've been trying to say all this time. Okay,
I have a few, not too much.
Speaker 2 (23:11):
So this uh interesting.
Speaker 5 (23:24):
And like oh.
Speaker 3 (23:28):
Thames, oh sorry, holds you breaking up? What's the question?
Can you type it so I can see it? Can
you type the question?
Speaker 5 (23:38):
All right? All right?
Speaker 3 (23:41):
This is New York for you and so many people
that's on live right now, and probably it's getting in
the way, but I'm gonna make sure I hear the
question correctly and answer it.
Speaker 2 (23:50):
I'm gonna I'm gonna type it, okay.
Speaker 11 (23:52):
Okay, perfect not answer this.
Speaker 2 (23:54):
One person asked, all right, m you.
Speaker 6 (24:05):
Well m hm.
Speaker 2 (24:10):
Oh all right, one question? Now, what's a question?
Speaker 11 (24:21):
Okay?
Speaker 3 (24:21):
You can ask her about the two names? Yeah, meaning
what tone?
Speaker 2 (24:30):
Yeah, you have two names? Why don't you go buy
for your authorship? Why don't you go by Yeah?
Speaker 3 (24:36):
Okay, now not get it, I take it too many ways.
I wanted a pen name because I wanted to protect
my own personal identity. I wanted the people who are
really in my life that loved me and my friends
know me by my government, and I wanted my fans
to appreciate my work.
Speaker 11 (24:54):
So I chose to have a pen name because I
just feel like it's so much significance behind it.
Speaker 14 (25:00):
Mhm.
Speaker 3 (25:00):
And I just feel like it's a way to still
have a sense of oneself, if that makes sense.
Speaker 11 (25:07):
I still want to be who I am government wise.
Speaker 3 (25:09):
I won't quote my government because if you're my true fan,
you'll know my government. So so I wanted to do
that a sense of just still like privacy, just like
my own identity.
Speaker 11 (25:21):
And and I think that's fair. I I truly truly do.
Speaker 2 (25:25):
Okay okay mm hmmm.
Speaker 4 (25:29):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (25:30):
The best person asks, let's see.
Speaker 4 (25:37):
That we have a.
Speaker 5 (25:43):

It's the same question, the same exact thing.
Speaker 3 (30:59):
Yeah, No, I didn't wrestle, no, nothing like that. This
is not a wrestling segment. This is about me being
a black writer. So who's ever acting me those things?

Speaker 2 (32:15):
Season from everybody, season from there.
Speaker 6 (32:36):
Gus who don't pay attention to what their what the
men of their night in their.
Speaker 14 (32:39):
Life really need to have a successful relationship.
Speaker 6 (32:43):
So I do also do short films as well independently.
You know, I'm a true believer in you know, you're talented.
Do you need anyone to tell you that you are?
You can do with yourself with the role of apps
and different platforms, you don't need anybody's permission. So that
is definitely what is coming up, you know, outside the
Patient Thief and books, I also do short films. I've
(33:06):
been definitely hooked on short films, been watching during COVID
and it's so much strong messages that can be portrayed
in a short film that's have to be hours.
Speaker 14 (33:16):
Long like we see on the movie screen.
Speaker 2 (33:19):
Okay, okay, yeah, okay, So a lot going on, not
going on?
Speaker 11 (33:25):
Yeah, okay.
Speaker 2 (33:27):
Anything in the near future, look we can look forward
to besides your writing.
Speaker 6 (33:33):
Yeah, Drains Drain will be coming out September twenty fifth,
and as well as a movie called Happy Sad.
Speaker 14 (33:41):
We haven't yet, you know, determined the release date for it.
Speaker 6 (33:45):
But people need a lot like mental health has been
a big issue in just in the community worldwide internationally,
and a lot of people they're relying on alcohol, smoking,
partying to fill avoid When all these things do, it
just it sparks the depression of the confusion even more.
And what we're trying to do with my active groups
(34:06):
called the not Laza, what we're trying to do is
just send messages and healing through short films.
Speaker 1 (34:14):
Okay, okay, yeah, okay, I guess one last thing by
moving the plugs. I think we're talking about off air, right,
tell me about your tell me about your podcast that
you have coming up.
Speaker 6 (34:28):
Oh, a talk with Tony. It's about covering all things
South Jamaica.
Speaker 2 (34:34):
Queens.
Speaker 6 (34:34):
You know, I'm celebrities.
Speaker 14 (34:36):
I love you, but there's real.
Speaker 2 (34:37):
Things may be talked about.
Speaker 6 (34:39):
Community is fair issue, it's a migrant issue, bad business,
things to be exposed, things to be celebrated. And that's
where a talk with Tony comes in. A talk with
Tony is a voice.
Speaker 14 (34:51):
For the people. It's to celebrate.
Speaker 6 (34:54):
It's too, like I said again, to expose, to give
a spotlight of things are important to for the real
issues that affect the average working person. You know, like
I don't care if anyone in.
Speaker 14 (35:07):
Celebrity wedding their new baby.
Speaker 6 (35:08):
I mean, you guys, are great, but a lot of
people out here are dealing with life on an average condition.
Speaker 14 (35:16):
And I think that these things we talked about, we
can't talk about.
Speaker 6 (35:19):
Better relationships, our police department, teachers who are making a difference.
We're then talk about, like I said, depictions, mental health,
advice on adult bullion, cyber brilliant, career.
Speaker 14 (35:34):
Discrimination, bank lowe discrimination.
Speaker 6 (35:36):
And that's that's what a talk with Tony comes in at.
We are tackling up the issues that matter. Hey, you
know celebrities, gradations on your wedding, your million dollar endorsement,
your new baby. I wish you well, But there are
people who are living in the quote unquote average world.
Speaker 14 (35:53):
They live in a different world from us.
Speaker 6 (35:55):
And let's just be real. You know, they're not worrying
about bills and the and the third We have to
worry about our rest.
Speaker 14 (36:01):
Being paid next month. The light they'll put it out
to to do college.
Speaker 6 (36:04):
You understand what I'm coming from.
Speaker 2 (36:06):
Yeah, and it's not to not.
Speaker 6 (36:07):
Anyone with a million, because guess what, you inspired.
Speaker 3 (36:09):
Me to have millions.
Speaker 14 (36:10):
I won't do it in the same way as you.
Speaker 6 (36:13):
But this is where the talk show comes in to
really be a voice for the people and to truly,
truly help the people and the best shape or form
that we can this way it comes in at truly
where it comes in at being a voice.
Speaker 2 (36:28):
For the people. Okay, And it's gonna drop.
Speaker 6 (36:33):
We're gonna we've been filming already episode about the summer.
Speaker 14 (36:36):
It will drop into the fall.
Speaker 6 (36:38):
People on vacation during the summer and enjoying that summer.
So we're gonna be grabbing attention of the audience and fall.
We're gonna have a premiere party at a black owned establishment.
And like I said, I'm truly trying to root my.
Speaker 14 (36:49):
Black owned establishment.
Speaker 6 (36:51):
They gotta come back with their attitude, even the facts
in black owned.
Speaker 2 (36:55):
But you got black workers.
Speaker 6 (36:57):
You've gotta have a better attitude towards your people. What
all money is green no matter where you're coming from.
The twenty dours, I have a screen, the twenty ours,
you have a screen. But they Caucasian, Asian, Latino, Indian.
Your sound saying, and we just have to do better
about life.
Speaker 14 (37:14):
Let me tell you something. It does not cause you
to be kind. To be kind it caught.
Speaker 2 (37:19):
It's free.
Speaker 6 (37:21):
Kindness is free, but people are treated like it's so expensive.
Speaker 14 (37:26):
So this is what makes you think?
Speaker 6 (37:28):
Right?
Speaker 4 (37:29):
Yeah, you know so.
Speaker 6 (37:32):
And I'm not saying that you sit here and you
be overly kind and giving us, not what I'm saying.
But if you're in a position to inspire, if you're
in a position.
Speaker 14 (37:42):
To do what's right, do it.
Speaker 7 (37:46):
Do it.
Speaker 6 (37:47):
Because I tell anyone, you have family that you care about, right,
you have friends everywhere. Right, you want people to treat
them with dignity and respect.
Speaker 4 (37:54):
Right.
Speaker 6 (37:56):
And so a talk with Tony is about we don't
sit here in bashful East.
Speaker 11 (38:00):
We're not about that.
Speaker 14 (38:01):
We don't sit here and listen.
Speaker 6 (38:04):
We are talking of respect and dignity. And guess what,
if you're not acting accordingly to how you need to behave,
you will put out on a on the front line.
You will be you know, we're here to celebrate black businesses.
We'll celebrate the rich culture of Jamaica, queens. We're here
to celebrate new businesses, open up, rents.
Speaker 14 (38:24):
Being raised, how we can kind of combat and tackle that.
Speaker 6 (38:28):
We're here to speak about the real things that affect
the real people respectfully.
Speaker 2 (38:32):
If that makes sense, you know that makes sense. That
makes sense.
