Ladies and gentlemen, Welcome to theWestfield Sportscast the first of twenty twenty three
school year, and we are yournew host. Obviously we are not Evan,
Aiden or Sam, but we do. I do want to take a
quick moment to thank all three ofthem for leaving such a great show behind.

(00:27):
I'm rowand Elbert. Let's just takea quick moment to you know,
introduce ourselves. Go around the table. I'm rowan Elbert. I am the
play by play announcer for the WestfieldShamrocks and I'm also the host of the
Westfield Sports Show on Rock TV.I'm Trisan Clide Dennis. I played right
tackle for your Westfield Shamrocks. I'mAdrian Wolf and I'm a co host on

(00:52):
the west Field Supports Show as wellas a reporter for just all Sports,
and I do media for all sports. I also cheer for the Westfield Shamrocks.
I'm Calledis Stigler. I'm a sidelinereporter for the Shamrocks. I'm Will
Holmes. I'm a wide receiver foryour Westfield Shamrocks. Alright, alright,
we have a lot to get intoand let's let's start off with going over

(01:18):
last week's win against Newpal and boytristan right tackle coming into the game.
I mean, that was just suchan incredible win. I mean, how
were you able to dominate like youdid? It was it was really all
team effort at first, you know, because it was my first varsity start,
I was all nervous, and thenof course I got homes backing me

(01:42):
up, giving me confidence, anduh after that first hit, it was
you know offps its Yeah, firstopening game win since two thy nineteen,
so none, none of you wereeven at the school yet. I mean,
that's crazy. I don't think Iwas. How many games we've lost,
like six women including like okay, regular season games we've lost, well

(02:07):
four since we've been here. Yeah, we've lost like three of the openers.
Yeah, because like Cathedral, Cathedralthe New Pal but no it's Cathedral,
Oh yeah it h yeah. Butthis week Laurence Central, Man,
I mean they're coming off a fiftyfour win, fifty four nothing win against

(02:28):
I, at which, to befair, I think anyone can beat I
at fifty four nothing, But like, what's the mindset going into that game?
So just like at our team meetingright on Monday, coach Gilbert hyping
us up and the theme of theweek is we'll focus and bring the heat.
So bring the heat. It's gonnabe a hot game. So right

(02:51):
now we're getting conditioned to play inthis hot weather on Friday night, so
it should be good. Yeah.And you're a big guy, you're a
you're a right tapool, you're anold lineman. How much does the heat
affect you? It can like itgoes far. Like so if we have
like a long drive, which inthe during ELCOT we expect to have long

(03:13):
drives, it's gonna probably effect usif we're not conditioned well. So that's
why we're doing you know, twominute drills. You know, good on
good right now in the heat,so we can get used to it now.
I do want to take a goaround the table and Naska quick question.
Let's go to Jackson Gilbert. Hisperformance nine for sixteen, one passing

(03:37):
touchdown, one i NT, buttwo rushing touchdowns. What was your favorite
thing you saw from Jackson Gilbert inthat game. Let's start with Cali.
I mean it was just like hispassing was on point and he was actually
good at running. You know, that first touchdown he was out of the
gate and just kept running the wholegame and it was pretty good for him.
Yeah, especially after like that's likeone of his first games that he's

(03:59):
like really playing it. He wasjust showing a lot of like effort and
you know, he got the ballwhere it needed to be. So yeah,
I'll go off of that. Hispocket presence and his overall IQ.
You can tell it's top notch. And obviously when you have that football gene
and you of your dad being thehead coach, you're gonna have that IQ.

(04:23):
But he definitely has it over alot these other kids. Like I
was talking to him the other dayabout like breaking down like film and stuff,
and he was like he was talkingabout the Beaubron touchdown, the thirty
eight yarder, and he was like, yeah, we use the play action
fake to throw off the safety andthen you know, had a deep post
going over him. I'm like,I don't I haven't heard a seventeen year

(04:46):
old or an eighteen year old talklike that. And I think that's incredible
and I think more quarterbacks should shouldthink like that at the high school level.
Yeah, I just I don't knowthat. Again, I there's a
lot of burnish respect going around inthe school, like everyone thinks Melvin should
be the starter. Melvin's really talented, but Bert is also really talented.
Like Bert is his eye, he'soff the charts. He's he's super tough,

(05:11):
and I mean he knows how toread defense perfectly. Yeah, no
respect him, disrepect him. Melvin, I mean he could start too,
Like they're both great quarterbacks. Buteveryone just thinks that purchase isn't good when
he is really good and he's improveda lot. And you would know because
you and you've been catching both oftheir balls at practice, so you know
a lot more than you know alot of people. But what do you

(05:33):
think about Jackson's performance? So theday of the game on Friday at school,
I just had everyone come up tome seeing how Jackson was nervous.
And when we stepped on the field, you would have never thought he was
nervous. He kept his composure. He was a great leader. Like what

(05:54):
like Will said, he's talented andI was glad to have him in the
backfield and leaving this office that friday. Yeah, I mean even like looking
at him in the hallways during thatday, you wouldn't even be able to
tell he was nervous. It's oneof those things where deep down you feel

(06:14):
it, but you can't really showit because when you're the quarterback, you
gotta be a leader. But youknow that just you know, my respect
for Jackson has gone way up,even though I already already had a lot
of respect for him because I knowhe probably already got the stereotype going around
only had the coach, his sonand the nine. Yeah, but he's

(06:34):
talented enough to be the quarterback. He proved that. And Melvin great quarterback
obviously, but dealing with an injury. But Jackson came out there and he
bawled out absolutely. And it's abig thing that their coaches teach him too.
With mindsets, and I think thatgoes in every sport, just like
anything that you're thinking before the game, you gotta they all kind of find

(06:55):
their ways to push that aside andjust making a good game. And the
whole Westfield team they came over, they overcame. Sorry, like a huge
deal of injuries during the Wednesday practiceLennox Williams Ryan Barker, I wanted I
wanted to ask specifically will in Tristan, how do injuries affect a locker room.

(07:19):
I mean it's just like man ashonestly, just next man out for
us because we're so deep, asyou know, as you can tell,
like we're just so deep and weall believe that night one another. But
I mean, obviously it's hard tosee Barker go down because he's been a
big leader on the line, andthen we all we've always had like a
bunch of young players on the line, so we might have need a Barker

(07:39):
there. But obviously they handled themselveslike great, and I mean we're the
same thing with like Lennox, it'slike Liskey Lisk, he's been there.
I mean he hasn't played Sam before, but he's in that type of role.
So it worked well. And thenwe had Floyden Deacon, which they're
phenomenal as well. So it's justlike like being deep is just it's the

(07:59):
key, yeah, to back uphomes. We're it's always next man up.
Yeah, we were all like dangkey players are down. But then
it's like fast tempo, like it'sthe next man up, next man stint
like next man's up. Uh.When when I got when I heard Barker

(08:22):
was down, my coach came upto me said that you got to be
prepared to start this Friday game,so we need you to practice hard and
practice will Yeah. Gilbert also reallytalk started like a hinge moment, which
is just like, yeah, you'reready for a hinge moment. So Tristan's
hinge moment was when Barker went down, and he preaches that all the time
in offseason, and like we alwayshave leadership council. It's every year,

(08:43):
it's the same thing. But youstill have to be ready for it because
it's the most important thing. Obviously, Tristan was ready for his hinge moment
and that's why I succeeded on Friday. Indeed, you were ready. But
I did want to ask you thoughalso, and we know what you two
are going to think about this question, but I really wanted to get your
two, both of both of you, your thoughts on it. And obviously

(09:07):
you two as well New pal They'renot a bad team. Obviously, they're
one of the best four A teams. And they got completely five oh yeah,
yeah, anyway, I get confused. Anyway, they they got completely
dominated by Westfield until you know,Westfield took the starters out. But I

(09:31):
did want to ask could Westfield goundefeated. There are there's really only one
team I see in their way.Could Westfield go undefeated? I think,
I mean I've I've seen them sofar this season. It's really hard to
tell this early in the season,I mean, especially without seeing a lot
of the other teams playing. Ido think HSC has has a good chance

(09:52):
this year at State. I've beenlooking at a couple of days, but
Westfield, like I've seen a lotof the teams so like, it just
is really going to depend on whowe're playing, when, what's going on
with the team again, injuries, who's in for quarterback, who has a
good mindset, Like, it's reallygoing to depend on a lot of different

(10:13):
things. Like I think this weekendwe're absolutely gonna win. I don't have
any doubt about that, but it'sreally going to depend on like the week
and what's kind of going on.I think that we do have a good
chance. Yes, I'm backing upAtrian. I think we do. You
know, we've struggled with center Grovethis year, but I think with our
skill level we can beat Senor Grove. Oh totally. And going back to

(10:35):
that center Grove last week, they'vetraveled out of State, they've lost twenty
seven to ten. To keep inmind, a very good team Saint Edward,
They're constantly one of the best teamsin Ohio. But is Center Grove
Are they beat the Bold this year? I wanted to ask both of you,
Well, obviously everyone's bringing chip ontheir shoulder because no one's beating Center

(11:00):
Grow in the last three years. So I think it's always just like about
discipline, because you know at theinner city teams like Warren Center, like
they're not disciplined, but they havea ton of talent. Like for us,
like, we're really disciplined and wemight not have as much talent,
but we're not gonna jump offsides oranything like that. Sea Grove has a
great combo of both, and they'realways really talented team. They're always super

(11:20):
disciplined and they're always prepared for everysituation. And I mean we've been that
way too, But I mean,I don't know, they just had a
number the last couple of years. And uh, what was the first part,
Like what are you talking about?Oh, could West School go undefeated?
Yeah? I think we could couldgo out and because we have leaders
like Seek Richardson who might not geton the field a lot, but he

(11:41):
is great leader in the locker room. He's always supporting everyone, like when
Bob Broad had passed him up,Like look at Bob Brown now, Like
Zeke's always like getting like he alwayshas a smile on his face, and
he's always bringing everyone else up.And then also Drew Wolf, Drew Wolf
does not get the love he hedeserves. Like he is Keaschill, part
of the crucial part of the team. And we didn't have Drew Off to

(12:03):
be a leader, I don't knowwhere we'd be. Like this class of
seniors is they've always been so tightand there are a bunch of great leaders
and I love all of them.Yeah, Tobacco homes our our seniors are
amazing. They're it might not looklike it because you know, sometimes some
of them are goofy, but thereare great leaders in the locker room,

(12:24):
great leaders on the field, anduh, I'm glad to have them.
And I do. I do thinkwe could go undefeated this year. It's
the only part that could hold usback is selfishness. And that's a big
thing that Gilbert preaches, is thatif if we lose, it's because of
selfishness. It's not because we havebad talent, it's not because we had

(12:48):
a bad play, it's because ofselfishness. And yeah, I gotta really
work as a team this year. And speaking on Center Grove, which I
did not mention HSC incident, goover both teams I've been looking at.
I know a lot of people havebeen talking about HSC, but I've seen
a lot of their like stuff thisyear and it looks like they're gonna be
pretty good. So those are justdefinitely the two teams we're gonna have to

(13:09):
look out for. But besides that, like if we can find a way
to like beat those teams, likewe're absolutely I don't see any other teams
in our way. And HSC thereason we talk about them, they're coming
off a twenty eight to fourteen winI believe against Carol and Carol I mean

(13:30):
they I mean, obviously Carol avery good team, but HSC winning with
two pick sixes is HSC. Whereare your thoughts on HSC? After the
Carol win HSC last year, theythe over told us that like their whole
offseason was dedicated to beating us,and obviously they did twice last year,

(13:52):
so they really met their goal,so that made them overlook Carol, and
then Carol beat him and they gotto play in state. So HSC was
probably hungry to get Carol and theydid. Ye. Did that make you
guys feel like good or bad aboutthat? The fact that they really had
a whole off season just prepared foryou guys, did that make you feel
better as a team or obviously, like I guess it felt like somewhat good.

(14:16):
But like I mean, we stillthey should not have beat us twice,
Like that's that just shouldn't happen, especially in the regional game where did
we don't even think we scored didwe swore a point? Now, we
didn't even score a point? Ithink, yeah, in the regional game
yeah, oh yeah, and againstHC twenty nothing Yeah. Yeah. So
obviously that was not a good performance, like at all, like Gilbert was.

(14:41):
I mean, we were only downseven h a half and we all
like we all believed and then wejust ran out of gas, which is
just something that for Western football shouldnot happen. Yeah. I think,
you know, Westfield has a greatleadership this year, and you know,
hsc's always preparing for the best competitor. But I think with what Westfield has
done over the off season can reallyhelp prepare them for HSC. So that

(15:01):
HC Carol game, Yeah, theywon by two. They won because of
two pick sixes, and uh likeCarol, Like everyone said, Carol's not
a bad team. They're a goodteam. Although I do think that we
have a we will be h C. We have a big chance of being

(15:22):
HSC this year and when it comestime for that, it will be a
good game. I believe it definitelywill be a good game. But like
it's not talked about enough. Imean HSC other because if those two picks
sixes don't happen, that is avery close game. I mean, you
take that away. It's a fourteenfourteen ball game. But also at the

(15:43):
same time, it speaks to howgood they are as a defense. To
pick off Jimmy Sullivan, one ofthe best quarterbacks in the state two times.
I mean, that is an incrediblefeat for them. Yeah, so,
honestly Westfield HSC. Getting my opinionon it, I think west because
you talked about HSC last year, their entire off season was dedicated to taking

(16:08):
down the Shamrocks beating Westfield. Now, I think Westfield like have you guys,
have you like over the off season, were you guys thinking like we
gotta get to HSC, we gottabeat HSC. It's never really like our
goal isn't no individual team like wejust gotta be we gotta Gilbert always preaches
full, full potential, So wegot to reach our full potential in any

(16:30):
way that it takes. Obviously,we want to get to State, that's
the main goal. We don't wantto be any one team. We just
want to be the best team thatwe can be. All Right, So
when you're playing, do you guysmore go against yourselves? Is it more
of like a you're trying to betbe better than you were before or is
it more of a you're just kindof focused on that other other. I
mean, it's kind of like anmake sure of both. Like Gilbert just
doesn't want mental mistakes. And likewe're a mentally tough team. We do

(16:53):
grueling stuff in the off season,Like I would argue we do more stuff
than any other team in the state. And you know, we're doing all
this work, and like we can'tjust see that for nothing. So we
got to be mentally tough. Wegot to be just out work the other
team, and I always preachers.I love the other team. So we
can't be making men's mistakes like headingthe quarterback late, Like, we can't

(17:15):
be doing this stuff. Sol andI want to move on to this week.
Laurence Central. Last year Westfield beatthem forty two twenty seven at home,
Max Nozzler one hundred and seven yards, three touchdowns or yeah, yeah,
and didn't touchdown? Is it?Two? Oh ya? Three?

(17:36):
Oh kay? Anyway, and thatday I also dropped a camera out the
window of the press box. Sothat was a that was a night that
will you know, live in mymemory, laughing at you, that's that's
a night that will you know, live in my memory, you know for
a long time. But for youguys, it will live in your memory
for all the right reasons. Yeah, So do you have that game,

(17:59):
like going into next week, doyou have that game or this week?
Do you have that game in theback of your mind or is it just
you know, forget about last year. Let's go ball. Yeah, it's
kind of just like let's go ballbecause like, obviously they want to beat
us this year, but we knowthat they really like they just want to
get the big hits and they wantto make the big play, and they're

(18:22):
not mentally tough, so we're todayI get like a lot of hardcouts on
him, So I think we'll getthat stuff. And like, I think
special teams is where we can reallyjust like line them up because I mean
they're kicker is not very good.Yeah, and I think they're just not
just one not special teams and that'swhere we usually thrive. So I think
we're gonna have probably a kick offturn of the house. I think we

(18:47):
obviously, I think we're gonna win. It's right now. Number number one
thing that we're focusing on as theoffensive line is number zero. They're mic
linebacker, he's fast tail. Yeah, he won, you won MVP last
year as a junior, I'll state. And us as offensive line, we're

(19:07):
working on, you know, pickingup that mic blitz and uh so we
have like we're gonna slide to him. We're gonna do the best we can
to block him so we could havethat long run or pass. Yeah,
And Matteyo russell Man, he's aguy. I actually was gonna ask you
next, like how do you gameplan against a guy like that? Last

(19:30):
year? One hundred thirty nine tacklesthree and a half sacks, and not
only that last week against i AT, which keep in mind i AT They're
they're coming off a one in nineseason. They are not good at all,
but still ten tackles, one sack. It's guy Matteo Russell. He's

(19:51):
very hard to gain plan against. But as a defense, which I know
none of you are on defense, how do you game plan against the guy
like Bryce and Luther their quarterback withhe had five touchdowns last week to five
different receivers. I mean that isincredible, and you've got quite the amount
of weapons on that team too,Like like a mod Duff, who is
an incredible receiver. I think he'sactually a stud baseball player too, committed

(20:15):
to Alabama for baseball. He's yeah, yeah, yeah, mod Duff.
He really fast, like I don'tknow, even runs to play on.
It's like at four three, maybeeven four two, like he's so fast,
and but like I don't know,I think we could probably like disguise
like his own or something. Idon't play defense, but I know that
like our defensive coaches, like defenseis so close, Like they're so close,

(20:37):
especially the D line, and Ithink that they can get to the
quarterback. Our d line is loaded. We're really on the D line,
and our coaches are incredible. Wehave easily had the best coaches in the
state. Like game planning, likethey make awesome game plans, like they
really honestly, they don't even seetheir families that much. They're just so

(20:57):
locked in the season, and thatmakes me respect them so much more,
especially coach Gilbert. Coach Gilbert putsabsolutely everything he has into this program,
and I think it goes for grantedsometimes absolutely Off of also what had Tristan
had said about the that that's absolutelylike you can see that every single time.

(21:18):
With what you were saying with Gilbert, he's he really puts his whole
heart into the game. But offof what you were saying about the blitz,
I feel like that's kind of comeup. It's been a reoccurring thing
this year for like in practices orwhatever. What are you guys doing to
like help you guys get better withthose with well, I mean sorry,

(21:40):
So we have a great pass blockingoffensive line, and I think we showed
that off well enough at New palThey got speedy guys, which yes,
that can be dangerous, but alsothey don't like to be hit. So
if we just if we get ourhands on them, they're not gonna go

(22:00):
nowhere, and we're gonna get Kendall'sgonna get a long run or touchdown past
a Gay Parker or bow. Soit's it's really all how the uh,
like like like what everyone said aboutNew Pal It's gonna come down to the
offensive line. But we're not gonnaWe're not gonna be frantic. We're gonna

(22:21):
dominate and win the game. Yeah, yesterday we had a like a blitz
period in which we usually have thatevery Tuesday, so it's like different blitzes.
So let's say like the mic wasblitzing, so I don't know his
name, but yeah, let's sayhe was blitzing. So we'll probably run
like a hypop. So that's likeNazer. It kind of like runs up
the scene. That's what he hadis like seventy yard touchdown mom last year.

(22:42):
And I think that's gonna work realwell. And I think if they
run cover two, which is liketwo Sage's like like, I don't like
they're half the field like Nazers andhave himself a good game, and I
think Parker will get some or Gaywill get some like j pops which just
slant like some like like quick passes. They gotta work for us like like
it did last year. Do youthink their safeties and their linebackers do you

(23:04):
think they are easily as fooled bythe play action as New pal was.
Do you think they can easily befooled like that? Yes, because New
Palace coaches I don't even know likeone hundred and like four, so like,
I mean, obviously they're real disciplinedand they've been really talented over the
past. So I think if wecan full New pal I think we can

(23:26):
full Elcie pretty easily. And elseThey're coming off a four and six season,
which that is obviously not good, and they have not had a winning
year since twenty seventeen, and intwenty twenty they were oh and ten.
That's very bad. How difficult Imean even I at we talked about them

(23:47):
Indiana Arsenal Tech. They've even theywon a game last year. It's very
hard, I feel like, tonot win a game. How much do
you think that would be a morale? You know, like, like how
just imagine being on that team, the morale of the team. Could you
even imagine that. Yeah, it'sI mean it's tough, like even last

(24:07):
year, like they're freshman quit happythrough the game. Yeah wow, I
didn't know that. Yeah, likethey're just like all right, we're leaving
and it's like all right. Coachingmatters, like you gotta like you got
about a relationship with relationships with yourplayers, and that's really important because like
Gilber has relationships with all us.He knows every kid's name even on like

(24:29):
through like fifth grade, which iswild. That's why building relationships with your
players really matters, because like obviouslythey were all they were all like yelling
at each other and like cutting eachother out, and it's like that's not
what a team is. Yeah, like that, like you just gotta be
you gotta be together and share. They're really talented, but I mean they
just don't have the culture. Ohyeah. But now for to conclude this

(24:53):
whole talk about football, let's geta score prediction from everyone. Let's start
with Adrian Ah, are we gonnalet them score? No? I believe
in the defense. I believe Ibelieve in the defense. If the defense
held up New Powers Wait wait wait, wait, so you're so are you

(25:15):
guys saying that we're going our defenseis going to hold a team that dropped
fifty four points to zero. We'regonna hold them to zero this week.
They're all right? If I lateron today during class, I'll show you
the film of Arsenal Tech. Theydon't have a defense. So that's why

(25:36):
they were able to run like onereceiver is wide open, didn't have a
man on him. So yeah, well, looking at looking at ours compared
to their stats, I mean earlierthinking maybe got four TVs on them zero,
they don't score at all. Okay, twenty eight zero zero prediction.

(25:56):
Well good, Vine said last yearthey're our last week they're not scoring,
and I think that mentality helped them, and I think they're gonna bring that
same mentality. So I'm gonna gowith thirty five nothing. Wow. Right,
it's from the two guys on theteam. How how do you guys
feel? I'm I feel great goinginto Elston, but maybe hey, maybe
they dictate culture. Maybe they're comingtogether now, and so I mean,

(26:18):
I I don't know, maybe they'llbe a lot better, but I think
they're gonna come in firing. They'regonna come in confident. But so I
think score is gonna be. Ithink we're in score a lot, So
I think we're it's gonna be thirtyeight to fourteen, are all right?
I think it's gonna be forty twoto seven just because we're although I mean

(26:44):
our defense held up New Pal tothe fourth quarter on not scoring and then
they started scoring. But that that'swhen we had our backups in. So
I think we're gonna we're gonna blowthem out in the first three quarters and
then have our backups in. Butuh yeah, we're going to dominate them.
It's just going to come down tothe more disciplined team. So forty
two seven, and for my scoreprediction, I'm gonna go thirty eight to

(27:11):
ten. I mean this their kickeris not good. He's not making it
a field goal. He's not makinga field goal. Oh yeah, you
did mention that. Let's go.Yeah, now that I think about that,
let's go, let's go thirty eightseven. Okay, there we go
thirty eight seven. Like I likethis Westfield team coming off a thirty four

(27:32):
point scoring, you know, justoutbursts against this New Pal team, and
how the O line was able tosomewhat contain Michael Thacker as much as you
can with a guy like Michael Thacker, one of the best guys in his
class, probably the one, probablythe best defensive player in his class arguably,
And just seeing how great the WestfieldOH line looked and just how many

(27:56):
passing options there are on this teamwith Bobron Aaron Bullis, it showed me
that this Westfield team is going tohave a high powered offense and the defense
and the defense with the blitzing lookedgreat as well. So I'm going Westfield
thirty eight to seven. But beforewe move on, though, I do
want to talk about some other sportsin Westfield outside of football. I do

(28:21):
want to talk about girls golf manAddie Coy and Sam Brown. That has
been the duo that's been talked abouta lot lately. Addie in the last
match, she had a score ofseventy two, which was one above par.
Sam Brown finishing three above par.I mean that's great. Yeah,
that's because if any any of youwho know golf, you know that's incredibly

(28:44):
impressive. And if it weren't forsuch an impressive outburst from Carmel in that
match, Westfield will have won thatmatch. So it just shows how great
this girl's golf team can definitely beYeah, they probably being play about twenty
five strokes. Yeah, they've beenrecord setting, so it's a great season
for them. Yeah, they didset a record for PAAR last week at

(29:07):
Chippendale. That's awesome. And thengirls soccer, they're coming off a two
nothing to win against playing Field Tallya White Soul, getting both of the
goals in that game, won thefirst half, one in the second half.
She's an absolute study. Then youcan just see her confidence when she

(29:27):
plays like she's really good. Iwish she does. And then girls volleyball,
they played on Monday. They playedPenalton Heights, so they they played
Monday. I need to check thescore on that, which probably should have
had this pulled up before. Butanyway, they were one in one going

(29:48):
into that and Chloe's suit take hasreally been that she's been one of the
main players on this team that hasbeen showing a lot of grit and toughness.
With two blocks, that's very impressiveif you don't know. And they
actually did beat Pelton Heights three totwo. So your girls volleyball, I'm

(30:11):
pretty confident in that team too, absolutely, But to close out this episode,
I do want to ask one questionabout the national landscape of sports.
I want to talk about the NFL. One question around the table. I
want to talk about Anthony Richardson. Then he seems like he's been treated,
like you know, already, hasbeen getting the royal treatment in Indiana.

(30:36):
He's getting the red carpet laid outfor him. But I want to ask
you all, what are your expectationsfrom Anthony and year one. Let's start
with Tristan. So, I feellike Anthony Richardson is going to have a
good year. There's a good there'sa lot of good rookies. But just
because I'm a Colts fan, I'mgonna be biased and say that he's gonna

(30:57):
win Rookie of the Year. Buthopefully, hopefully we have a bad enough
season, like bad enough season sowe can get Marvin Harrison Junior, bring
back the Marvin Harrison back to theYeah, back to Indy. To add
another question into the mix, though, how does Jack wass though Jack Wass?

(31:19):
How how does not how does JonathanTaylor not being there affect that affect
Anthony Richardson, Because he's more thanlikely within the next week, actually,
by the time this episode gets out, Jonathan Taylor might be gone, So
how does that affect a rookie quarterbackalong with you know what your expectations are

(31:41):
for Anthony. Honestly, I kindof forgot about it, Like I forgot
about that read option was gonna belike crazy, it was Jonathan Taylor and
Anthony Richardson, But was Zack Mossbreaking his arms? Not gonna be great
because the read options probably less likelygonna go to arcs. He's like six
six two forty, so I don'tknow. I think he'll have definitely has

(32:06):
some ups and downs. He'll makesome great throws and then he'll make some
bretty dumb decisions. But I meanthat's part of being a rookie quarterback.
And I think he'll be solid andI think he'll be great in theater.
Yeah, and I'll take over fromthat. Having a running back who's as
elite as Jonathan Taylor is, ittakes a lot of weight off of a
rookie quarterback. That's why I thoughtAnthony Richardson was going to have such an

(32:30):
incredible rookie year. I thought he'sgonna be offensive rookie the year because if
the wait Jonathan Taylor can take offof him, now, I still believe
in Anthony. I think he's goingto have people think of him as a
project, which I totally get thathe's very raw. He's only made fourteen
starts I believe in in college,so I get that he's very raw with

(32:52):
his skill set. But I thinkhe's a lot more developed than a lot
of people think. He's looked pretygood in the joint practices and in training
camp. He's not going to beHe's not gonna be perfect. He's not
going to be anything too special inyear one, but he is going to
prove a lot of doubt or iswrong. He's going to be in the
offensive rookie the year talks Kellie.Yeah, you know, he's done great

(33:15):
things, Like all the fans lovehim. You've seen what he's doing at
colts camp. He's a great quarterback, you know. I agree with Will.
He's gonna have ups and downs, like no quarterback rookie's gonna be perfect
out there, but I think he'sgonna be great. I also agree with
like Tristan, I think Marvin Harrisonwould also be a great addition to help
him. I mean, he's noDan Marino came in and just you know

(33:37):
absolutely showed off. So on thatpoint of okay, you on that point
of no Rickie, no rookie,is I'm gonna have perfect year. But
I do think he's gonna have apretty great season. Just yeah. From
the Cult training camp, he seemslike a pretty good leader for being a
rookie as well, And so Imean, I think having it's definitely gonna

(34:00):
affect him a little bit not havinghim there, but I think he's still
going to have a really great seasonpreseason. Yeah. And by the way,
the difference between Marino and Richardson obviously, Marino great quarterback, top ten
of all time, Marino, nosuper Bowls. Richardson He's gonna win like
five, So let's let's just getthat out of the way. But no,
not having Jonathan Taylor there, thattakes away like the RPO potential.

(34:22):
But still I'm a big believer inEvan Hole and what he can do filling
in that Jonathan Taylor role. ButI think they are also going to go
to a committee. But that lookslike it's going to be the end of
this episode, and it's been fun. We gotta do this again next week
for sure. Absolutely, all right, at Christan don't be late,
