(00:05):
Welcome to episode three of the ShamrockSports Cast or like twenty seven whatever we're
on. Welcome, Yeah, Rowan, Elbert, will Holmes, Adrian Wolf,
Callie Sigler. Unfortunately no Tristan Cook, Dennis. He had something come
up. Big week, Westfield Noblesville, big week. But we got to
talk about last week Westfield Zionsville comingdown to a last second field goal.

(00:30):
I mean, will you lived it? What was the reaction like on the
sideline? I mean, like whatwas going through your head when that ball
was in the air. It wasgreat. I think most of us knew
he pushed it and went in thespecial teams meeting on Monday, Handbon was
like, man, it was thefield goal block team. Like that team
really honestly say the game because theyblocked that a halftime like monsor good Bye,

(00:54):
got good pushes all the game, and then they're the kicker. I
think went away from those two andthat's what made it push it right,
So shout out field goal blockhead isimportant. Yeah, I mean, but
also can you confirm this or not? On the go ahead touchdown? It
was with Kendall when Jackson threw thatgo ahead touchdown past the Kendall. Is

(01:14):
it true? Kendall ran the wrongroute and I don't know how he ended
up there, but yeah, itworked out in the end. No running
back runs any route besides like acircle. Yeah, But anyway, Westfield
they were looking for their first fourand those start coming up against nobles Will

(01:36):
I mean the first four and thosestarts since two thousand nineteen. But keep
in mind though, after that fourand those start, they were zero and
four the next four weeks and thelast time Noblesville beat Westfield because it was
actually twenty eighteen, and the onlypoints Westfield put up in that ten two
loss were a safety and Camden Simon'swas the quarterback. I mean, those

(02:02):
were quite the day. So Noblesvillecoming off a loss two fishers, I
mean, the wing tea not asprevalent with them, I mean, how
do you feel, not as prevalent, but they still run it. But
like, how different is Noblesville thisyear than last year for someone who's been
watching the tape. I mean, obviously they were in like sixty forty.

(02:23):
Now they still tank their main thing, and we've obviously struggled with tank in
the past, but I think we'regonna get it. Done like they're spread,
they're not great at it is thatlike a Brewer because I mean three

(02:46):
of their running backs are playing receiver. Yeah, and and Brewer is a
really good receiver. So just likepretty much had a man upon him.
No, then Logan Shoffner too.I mean even like last week they have
him, they have him in akick return or two ninety nine yard kickoff
return touchdown. Yeah, but noLogan Schoffner though he's obviously like one thousand

(03:08):
yard rusher, very good running backat quarterback Jacob Baker. I mean last
year he was getting like carries atrunning back, but now he's the quarterback.
And at this point last year inthe season, I believe Noblesville had
thrown twenty passes. This year,Noblesville has thrown thirty two. So that
shows obviously very run heavy still, but it's a gradual difference from last year.

(03:35):
I think that's what they're going for. Yeah, obviously it's word for
him. The first two games theydidn't really play excellent competition, but I
mean they still put up forty inboth games, so we can't really right
taken for grated. Right then,Now, let's go back to the Zionsville
game. I want to get allyour thoughts on this. What was all

(03:58):
of your biggest takeaways from the game? Mine was, I mean, obviously
defense played great. I mean weshould have had like four takeaways instead of
just what do we have one ortwo? Yeah? Because yeah, I
think because Deacon King he dropped thatone interception in the end zone at the
beginning of the game. I thinkwe had one, yeah, because there
was no there was two because wehad the samble a strip sack and then

(04:23):
we had the Deacon King fumble recovery. We should have had four. Yeah,
that Casey fumble recovery. I didn'treally just don't know how he didn't
get that. I talked to Caseyabout it the other day. He's he
said, he's like having sleepless nightsover it. I mean, we won
the game, so that's a right. Yeah, it's okay. It was
a big loss, that's all right. And also sorry, no go ahead.

(04:46):
So I mean, we uh playEugene pretty well. He didn't have
that many years, I thought, and h yeah, a lot of holding
calls that were called, and obviouslytakeaways and the o's have been weren't great
and we gotta clean that up.Yeah, we were calling the game like
on the WHS Sports Live, andthat one stretch in the fourth quarter,

(05:06):
or it may have been the thirdquarter, I don't remember. It's all
blur man. That was such acrazy night. But like that one stretch
where they had they were like marchinginto Westfield territory and then penalty after penalty
kept killing them, and I thinkit ended up becoming like a third and
eighteen or a third and twelve forthem, which they didn't get. But

(05:27):
like that crowd, dude, they'rehostile. They all say it worked great.
I was expecting better. Wow,throwing shade. Yeah, And it
wasn't like the stands were filled.Yeah, I mean we weren't right there
by the students section. We couldn'tget that perspective. But they were like
grown men right next to us,which are which were saying stuff that was

(05:50):
you know, I can't really repeaton air, but it was just some
crazy stuff that was being said. And it shows how football crazy these guys
are. The seniors haven't lost inResignsville their entire football careers. Wow,
that's wild. But no, Adrian, what was your biggest takeaway from the
game. I mean, I canreally the game was great. I think

(06:14):
I was a little bit surprised aboutlike how close the game was. I
thought that like we would have donea little bit better than we did totally,
but at the same time, wealso we won. We got it
back. It's just been keeping allof us on our toes, I guess,
especially from being on the sideline forcheering. I'm turning around one second,

(06:34):
it's like we're we're going crazy.In the next second we're like losing,
and then we're back up, andit's just like it's definitely a game
like the last two at least thatlike just have been keeping you up on
your toes. Yeah, and weweren't and like you mentioned, we weren't
expecting it. Yeah, yeah, absolutely. And another thing is you guys,

(06:56):
are you're you're talking about the crazystudent section or not even just student
section, just the fans. Wecould see that all around from Zionsville with
a they're rock like not rocks Boys, whatever they call them. There's Eagle
Boys, Eagle Boys coming on overand uh like after every touchdown just kind
of like giving us stuff and thenchirping, Yeah, we start getting up

(07:20):
on the bus and whole student sectionsagain yelling stuff at the bus that just
should not be set on air.Just crazy student section down there, for
sure. Yeah. I was inthe parking lot and they were like walking
out like a walk of shame intothe parking lot, and it was funny.
Like the Rocks boys they were alllike in their car and they were

(07:41):
like taunting them from their car.Was a great experience, great experience.
I mean, a night I willnever forget. I mean, that miss
field goal, my call of iton play by play was wild. But
Callie, you were there, you'reon color commentary. What was your biggest
takeaway from the game? I mean, in the first half, the Rocks
tid, I shrug go with theturnovers. But then after that I cleaned

(08:03):
up and their defense came in big, and you know, we there was
a chair thrown by you, Sothat got you high. I wouldn't I
wouldn't say thrown. It was itwas pushed. It was pushed over.
So I'll explain the context here.We had a share up on top of
the press box when we were callingthe game. Clip in, yeah,

(08:24):
yeah, put the audio clip in. Yeah, So I just I pushed
it over and then it was alreadybroken. I wanted to make that clear.
It was already broken, but itbroke again and it was it was
not good. It's just not good. But it's okay. The chair is
intact now. We made sure itwas intact. Just the cushion fell off.

(08:46):
It's it's no big deal and breakingstuff, man, what you didn't
breaking stuff? Man? Oh,I know, get cameras and then yeah,
by the way, dude is drinkinga prime. It's good. Really
over gain raid, not over Gator. And my mom just like bought it
and I was like, thanks,so you support Logan Paul. I mean
honestly, I was. I wasa low gangster before. Like I don't

(09:11):
want to Jake Paul Like everyone hadthe stage in sixth grade, but they
were either a low gangster or JakePauler. Oh yeah, stepite a low
gangster. But I want Dilan towin that fight. But yeah, but
anyway, going back to the gamethough, look, going back to the
game, you mentioned that Jackson Gilberthe had two interceptions almost three, and

(09:35):
then with Melvin being activated, hewas well, he was in uniform warming
up. It kind of begged thequestion for a little bit that if Gilbert
throws one more pick, here dodo you go to Melvin? I mean,
just with Jackson Gilbert's performance, especiallyafter an incredible Week two performance and

(09:56):
in the second half he did lookgood, I will I will say,
but what is your confidence level inJackson Gilbert? Still high? He saws
confidence himself with just huge. Ithink Coach Slicker has confidence in him.
A lot of caroliments in er anduh yeah, Carson's so wait for his

(10:16):
opportunity and obviously he wants success. But I mean Carson obviously also wants to
play, but like coach also hasto think where it's like, don't compete
against each other, compete with eachother total like so yeah, an example,
it was like Mike Hazar and CarsonBoies, Yeah yeah, and they
were just like after you're staking, they just like hugged it out and like

(10:39):
they're really good friends. So ifyou compete against each other, then that
will hurt the geam absolutely. Whatwas your biggest takeaway from Jackson Gilbert's performance?
I guess what is your confidence levelin him? Adrian? Just watching
him the past couple of games,I know there was some like questionable comments
before any of the games even startedabout like either Carson Melvin or Jackson Gilbert,

(11:05):
who's going to be better just anythinglike that. But I think he's
really shown that he can do agood job. He can get the ball
where it needs to go. AndI've been I've been very happy with like
how he's been doing this year,I mean all together, especially in stressful
situations, like he just gets theball where it needs to go. Yeah,
I'm gonna agree, Like he getsthe ball where it needs to go.

(11:26):
And he's been down these past twogames, and he's really took that
and you said his motivation got theone point wins. So my confidence is
hying him. You know, wehaven't really got to see Carson Melvine,
so it's kind of like is hein bid or not? So that's something
maybe later on in the season wesee maybe I don't really know. I
mean, if we have if wehave a big, a big lead against

(11:48):
Noblesville, hey, he he mighthe might be coming out has a rocket.
Oh totally. I mean the kidsa straight up athlete. I mean
an athlete. He I mean hewas on varsity basketball for a little bit,
he played he played a little bitof baseball. I mean, the
guy is a straight up athlete. He reminds me a lot of Anthony Richardson.

(12:11):
I mean, would you say that'sa valid comparison? Pretty didn't he?
His arm is crazy. There's thetightest final I've ever seen in my
life. It's like, dude,I can't drop this because like it'll literally
just like melt your face. Imean, and you've you've caught You've caught
balls from both Gilbert and Melvin.I mean obviously both great quarterbacks, but

(12:33):
like it's just how different are bothof that. I mean you don't have
to say who's better, obviously, because you know that's a very bad look
for you being on the team, but just how different are they as pastors?
It could be in a good wayor a bad I mean a good
way for I mean, I loveboth of them, Like they're both awesome,
metic boy, probably the best quarterbacksquestion instead of Indiana for sure.

(12:56):
And I'm gonna say we have liketwo top ten quarterbacks. Wow. I
like that. I think Carson couldbe easily top ten. I think Burt
is not ten right now, souh yeah, So Carson just throws it
like absolutely rocket and it's like alwayslike right here. Wow, And like,

(13:20):
I mean, they're really good throwsand then Burt always makes right decision.
This touch fash is just really good. Yeah. And also, I
mean they both they're super accurate.I think it's like a cause Burt mister
accuracy. I mean, Carson can'tmiss a few, but like he really
starts it in there and actually movingon kind of but kind of not.

(13:43):
I saw an Instagram post from ColtonVonder Star who's been bawling out by the
way. The caption said, oh, eight Gators. I mean, I
was thinking about it. It's it'sa pretty valid comparison, especially if you
watch the documentary The Swamp King Documentaryon Netflix. There you go doing the
gator chomp. Anyway, now thatI think about it, totally, I

(14:07):
mean Jackson Gilbert he reminds me alot of t Bow. I mean just
yeah, the power of God,the power of God. Totally. I
mean no, I mean like it'sjust like similar beliefs obviously, but like
at the same time, they doseem like similar quarterbacks with the way their
IQ is, you know, andhow hard they train. I mean,

(14:30):
I think it's a pretty valid Comparedle'skind of run the same too. I
mean, Bert just doesn't slide justdress the truck of Yeah, I mean
yeah, this year, all I'veheard is good things. Like I feel
like in past years with quarterbacks, like not just at our school, you'll
hear things and like just about likeoh that wasn't like their best game.

(14:50):
And so far this season, likeall I've heard is great things. So
I'm sure that's going to continue inthe upcoming games. Yeah, you know,
Verth has done good, like whenwith Lawrence Central had four touchdowns and
he didn't really have four as maintouchdowns first Noblesville, but I think Verse
or verse Scienceville, but I thinkVers Noblesville. He will have some touchdowns,

(15:11):
oh totally. And yeah, hedid have one touchdown against Scienceville,
the Kendall Garnett touchdown. But let'sgo back to Noblesville and with Noblesville.
The guy I really want to talkabout here is the middle linebacker, Austin
haste Things. I mean what yeah, yeah, yeah, Austin hate I

(15:33):
believe so yeah, Austin haste Things, I mean this is huge. Yeah,
he's huge. Also a very goodwrest a very good wrestler other than
a football player, very good wrestler. Anyway, last year had one hundred
thirty seven tackles and this year hehas thirty seven and seventeen of those are

(15:54):
solo tackles. I mean, howdo you game plan against a guy like
that? Obviously gotta a call ofprotection that like he moves up to the
middle linebacker, and I think, you know, we have Isaac Cole.
He's very experienced and he's only ajunior, which is kind of weird.
He's probably the most experience. Yeah, I've been right all right now after

(16:15):
that Barkers. But yeah, Ithink you could just like get it's cold
in the middle, and I thinkhe's got it. I think Kachi can
also make a miss. It's reallyextremely shifty, So I mean, be
him playing for him, it's gonnabe tough because he's really good. And
but I mean, their safety's justdon't really want to tackle. It's kind
of weird, like their corners tacklebetter than the safety's and as receivers were

(16:40):
taught to met that you take themos dangerous man. We wanted the tackle
the corners to tackle, so wekind of have to change our mentality on
the perimeter when we're walking. Soyeah, and number twenty four, Cold
richards right, Yeah, no,Cold Richardson unif I tracked from Doublesville.
He talks some smack so cool,We're coming for you. Wow, shots

(17:06):
are fired. Well, I respectyou because you do get in fight track.
But that's I do love cool.Of course he's a great guy.
But no, yeah, I callyou're a great guy. But no,
the safeties, though you talked aboutthem, I mean, not being as
good at tackling. Does that meanwe're going to see a heavier workload from
a guy like Max Nosler. I'mjust kidding. I'm not sure. Maybe

(17:27):
some Michael Webster, because yeah, yeah, Nas you don't really want to
I mean, you obviously don't wantget any of your guys hurt. But
NASA is getting every snap at liketight end too. Yeah, and yeah,
I think NASA just getting most ofthe eight trips. And then you
just call some Mike pops for him. I think some seems up the middle,

(17:47):
and then I don't work too. It'll work. It doesn't really matter
what defense you play, all right, all right, now let's get a
score prediction. Let's start with Alley, what is your score prediction for this
Friday? Oh? Yes, alsoto start with me, I'm gonna go

(18:11):
forty two three whoa, okay Westfield, right, yeah, and we'll go
to actually, let's go the wheelhere and then we'll go to me.
I'll go thirty five to twenty eight. I like that. No for me.
Last the past two weeks, I'vebeen giving a very far off prediction.

(18:34):
So I'm going to go Westfield thirtyeight, then Noblesville twenty eight.
So it'll still be a two scoreball game. I think Westfield first half
defense might not be as as hot, but second half defense is really going
to bounce back in Westfield. Theymight be down at half, but they're

(18:56):
going to win in this in thesecond half. I think they've shown that
they are a second and half team. I think I'm gonna go with twenty
thirty seven. Obviously Westville up.Yeah again, they've they've kind of shown
they've won so far every game thatwe've played. I'm hoping that we go
undefeated this year, and I thinkwe definitely have a shot at it.

(19:21):
But yeah, no, Noblesville gameshould be good. Should we all be
there? Okay, seven o'clock onmy change, every real quick? Okay,
it'll be forty two twenty eight, two twenty eight. Yeah, Okay,
I was gonna say forty two three, that that's hard. Yeah,
that was my bout. Guys.Yeah, they scored some points this year.

(19:41):
Yeah, I know you can't reallydeny that. But let's go back.
Let's go to other sports in theWestfield area. Let's go to girls
golf. I mean, let's goback to last Saturday, the Lady Bronco
Invite, taking home first place.Sam Brown doing just incredibly again as she

(20:04):
had four birdies on the front nineand then on whole thirteen she had a
birdie to make her score five hundredpart and she ended up finishing the day
with seven birdies in total, andshe finished first amongst everyone in the match
with a score of sixty six andthe team scored two hundred and ninety.
I mean, we said it lastweek. This girl's golf team crazy.

(20:30):
Yeah, this girl's golf team issomething. I mean, especially with the
duo of Addie Koy and Sam Brownleading the way. I mean, this
duo, I mean, this duoand this team in general is cannot be
beat. I'm just kidding. Imean they're dangerous. I'll give you that,
Adrian. They are a dangerous squad. And let's get into the girls

(20:52):
volleyball on last Thursday, losing threenothing designs Though, but a bounce back
win on Saturday against Garren Catholic, winning three to nothing in Georgia. Breshahan
had nine kills in that game, leading the way and kills for this Westfield

(21:12):
team, I mean, this girl'svolleyball team. There's been some ups and
downs, but they but whenever theylose big like they did Designsville, they
always come back and they strike evenharder, which I will say that's very
respectable. Absolutely. Yeah, goingback to football kind of, I gotta

(21:33):
talk about Dylan Thineman. I meantalk about an incredible debut for Purdue,
obviously former Shamrock. He had tentackles I believe and ten and all ten
of them were solo tackles, andhe had an interception. I mean,
were you watching the game, Imean, what are you thinking about Dylan?

(21:55):
Dylan, even if you freshman freshmistakes as a planning as I was,
like, he's playing corner. Neverhen't he doesn't playing corner, But
now it's kind of knows. Theygot maybe to safety and he played a
lot better obviously, had that reallyawesome interception. Yeah, like toe tap
was crazy and he killed some guyin punt and yeah, Theeneman is stunt.

(22:18):
They never wanted to go up againsthim. Yeah. Big ten Freshman
of the Week Dylan Thieneman and beforeFreman. Yeah, true freshman. I
mean that's very impressive, a truefreshman not only getting starting reps and being
being a starter, but also todo what he did being the leading tackler
for Purdue and being a big reasonwhy Purdue was still in that game.

(22:42):
I mean, Fresno state that theyhad a very high scoring offense, but
Dylan, he really carried the loadon defense for Purdue at certain points in
that game. Shout out Cole Ballardfor thinking two oh yeah, Cole Baller
getting some playing time for the Jayhawks. I mean, I gotta say,

(23:03):
man cold, Max Webster, Ohyeah, I am Max webs I mean,
it's insane how just how much talentpeople don't even think about how much
talent comes out of here poc.Goober says that we traded like a college
team so that you adapt to thecollege life easier. And obviously those guys
have and they've exceeded, especially theaterman. Yeah, and with going back to

(23:27):
Cole, I mean, it seemslike tea. Yeah, yeah, that
was that was definitely said. Butit seems like he was meant to be
a Jayhawk, I mean ever sincehe was born, I mean growing up
a Jayhawks fan. Obviously when ChrisBallard, his father was in the Chiefs

(23:47):
front office, he obviously was afan of just all the Cansas sports and
he never lost that love for theJayhawks. So I'm very happy for him.
But let's end the show with justa question. We have the NFL
season kicking off tonight at the timeof this recording, Chiefs and Lions.
I want to get you. Iwant to get all your all your super

(24:10):
Bowl picks, and let's start withAdrian. I think we already know where
this is going getting, but Idon't. I don't care who they played.
Dolphins are winning the Super Bowl thisyear with two at quarterbacks. I
say that with one hundred percent guarantee. I know it's gonna happen. Ye'all

(24:30):
better get ready. They haven't wona Super Bowl since I haven't even been
alive. I am so I'm soconfident that that we are winning the Super
Bowl this year. No one couldtell me otherwise. I will not listen
to you. You know what,I'm gonna hold back no comment. I
mean, but yeah, last timethe Dolphins won the Super Bowl, I

(24:51):
think that was nineteen seventy two orseventy three. It was with Don Shula,
I do remember, great head coachri Ip Let's go though, Let's
go to my super Bowl pick.I've gone back and forth on it time
and time again, but I thinkthis is the Bengals year, honestly.
I mean Joe Burrow, he's healthynow, he's back from injury. He's

(25:15):
probably going to play Week one.I believe. I believe he is going
to play Week one. So havinghim fully healthy, and also the additions
on the old Lion, getting OrlandoBrown. I mean this Bengals team.
People forget. They were like acouple of plays away from going to the
super Bowl for a second straight yearlast year, and I think they can
definitely do it again this year, especially if Jamar Chase, if he's able

(25:40):
to stay healthy. Eli Apple, who was a big liability in the playoffs
especially, is now gone. He'sin Miami. So yeah, Bengals,
there my pick. How about you? Will Bills? Wow? I mean
Bills are getting done. I meanthey've too much down besides the ball and
not here did not get it done. Yeah, I mean I agree with

(26:02):
that, but like Buffalo, I'vepicked them in the past two years and
they've choked. I mean, justlike why now, I just gotta feel
that Josh Allen's didn't get it done. I mean, dude, he's so
good and I honestly don't don't thinkhe gets the credit that he deserves him.
And he throws he throws some picks, but he's definitely he's the most

(26:22):
out out of quarterback in the inthe league. Yeah. I was also
gonna say Bills, but I'm gonnago Eagles. I think they have a
revenge tour going right now. Butalso the Chiefs are probably the clear favor
to go back to back, SoI'm gonna go Eagles and Bills. Also,
I'd like to clarify it was nineteenseventy four, not seventy three or
one. It was seventy three ortwo. But yeah, yeah, seventy

(26:45):
four okay, but still eat eitherway, y'all. Our poverty, we'll
see what we're winning for sure forsure. Yeah. So we have Week
one tonight, Chiefs and Lines that'sgoing to be incredible. Yesterday in this
podcast studio, we did our fansto see football drafts and here and it
was it was. It was afun time. I think it was something.

(27:06):
It was something Adrian did not havefun, but yes I did.
But she said it was something.Honest, I'm gonna be completely objective here.
I could say I draft. Idrafted the best team. I think,
Drew Wolf, if you're watching this, you draft, you drafted the
best team, my friend. Thanks. And also Ian Port No, I'm
not talking to you. Yeah,I know it was sarcastic. Okay,

(27:30):
okay, but no, but no. Also Ian Porter, who didn't show
up his auto draft team is unreal. I can't believe it. I think
I drafted the pre solid team. Will how you feeling? Feeling pretty good?
Really good? My wide receivers aregonna go crazy. Yeah, she
drafted three receivers in a row.I think, like, yeah, I

(27:52):
mean it was unreal. Our producer, Alan Allen, I got some quarterback
baits. So one of your quarterbacksclosed by bye, I've got an extra
one. Yeah yeah, yeah,he's got Josh Allen and Trevor Lawrence a
league. I mean, the onlyquarterback I really have is Anthony Richardson,
So I might be calling you.You know, Anthony's gonna ball out.

(28:12):
I guess that's our show. Imean peace out, but
