Man. We have a lot totalk about. I mean, going back
to last night, especially the boyspicking up a big win over Noblesville.

I mean, just what a game. And me Cally were at the game,
I was doing play by play fiftyeight fifty four. I mean,
what a game for Westfield and whata game for not only Nick Book,
but Trey Buchanan, Will Harvey.Unfortunately no Charles Ferrell because of an ankle

injury, but Westfield Noblesville talking aboutsuch a great matchup Noblesville. They ended
our season last year and this yearWestfield's out for revenge. And not only
that, just it's being such ahuge rivalry matchup. What makes Westfield versus

Noblesville so special compared to other HCCmatchups, Well, first of all,
it's just a level of talent thesetwo teams have. They're always competitive.
Now Westfield Noblesville being right next toeach other, I think that plays a
factor as well. And Noblesville obviouslyeliminating us last year definitely plays a part

in it as well. Yeah,I agree. I think there's revenge on
Westfield's mind. You know, Noblesvillethey had the crowd. Westfield had a
crowd too, so you know,after a mistake Westfield made, it was
like Noblesville's crowd was right there,like we got air balls, you know,
you got the fouls. But Ithink Westfville kind of shut them up
at the end and we're like wewon, so yeah and yeah, like

the we saw the students section,we're in the flannels, which, oddly
enough I noticed this. No onetalked about it except for me until now
I'm bringing it up. I'm breakingmy silence. We wore the flannel thing.
We had like the cowboy type oftheme. The game we lost to
Noblesville in the sectional. I rememberthat very vividly. And now we come

in we do the same thing.I'm like, oh no, we're gonna
lose, and then we pull itout, which is great. Trade Buchanan
what a game for three pointers,which is crazy because in the last three
games before this one he was onlyattempting at combined eighteen shots. Why do
you think Trade Buchanon decided to pullup from beyond the arc last night.

More often, Well, he definitelyhas desires. I mean he wants to
finish. He told me to lookback in April of last year. He
wanted to finish top five and thenmiss raskball running. To do that,
you have to shoot. But alsoonce he gets especially from beyond the arc,
he's pretty lethal. Yeah, andhe was heating up last night.
You know, we saw him tooway behind the arc and he made it

so he was just he got shotsup and they were in. So it
was really working for him last night. Yeah, big day in the Buchanan
family. His father pulled off anincredible trade. We're gonna talk about that
at the end of the show.Of course, met me and DT both

had such a great game, theyhaven't posted the stats yet, but he
was in double figures, shooting veryefficiently. I'm gonna start with you,
Cally, because you were at thegame. How is Westfield able to let
Aaron Fine have such a great gamebut still get it done and get the
win? You know, Fine,he put up great shots, but when

he missed him, Westfield got therebound. St or they fought for the
rebound. So it was really likewest foul play good defense. You know,
they fought for every rebound. Youknow, we saw Carson, Melvin,
Dante Moreton, Nick book it upthere. So you know, they
can allow players to have good games, but they make up for it on
rebounds and really just stopping them.Yeah, totally. And for Westfield,
the amount of offensive weapons they havekind of amounts to if they have someone

like I mean last week against DonovanHamilton, that's they'll go against the elite
scorers. The talent around them,they could make up for it on the
depths or on the score cheat.Yeah. And what's funny you talked about
Donaldan Hamilton the HSC game and Iwas gonna mention it later on, but
all three of us in the pastweek have all done a game on play

by play. How we all feeling? Man, it's blast, I know,
it really is a blast. Yeah. I think there's nothing that beats
it, really, I mean,the high you get after calling a great
game, there's nothing that beats it. Obviously. I do want to address
Charles Ferrell having that ankle injury inthe HSC game. Didn't play last night,

which very unfortunate. We love havingCharles out there, is such a
great energy guy, but they stillgot it done without him, and it's
mainly because of Will Harvey. Andif you're in that Cali, I'll start
with you here. How did WillHarvey just step up into this big time
role? Well, he may playson offensive defense, you know, he

had good defense players where he stolethe ball, and then on offense he
got his threes and his points upand he's really a great you know,
he was really a great like helperbecause Westfield passed a lot because Noblesville knew
how to guard everybody, especially Tray, So he really made room and made
space so Trey can do his thingand Nick can do a thing. You
know. He's a good all roundplayer. And I think the thing that's

special about Will Harvey is he's notthe biggest guy on the floor by any
means, but he's lethal from aboutevery spot beyond the arc. And so
for him to step up the wayhe did without Charles Ferrell, which was
a huge missing piece, it's prettyspecial for the Rocks and it shows Coach
Sumter. If one guy goes down, then you've got someone that can step

up. The thing I'm intrigued about, though, is that Coach Sumter he
ran a rotation that was, youknow, just one man short of the
regular rotation because they just didn't fillthe gap that you know, Farrell would
have had, so they they keptit short on the rotation and they didn't
have an extra guy in there.Who if you wanted someone else in the

rotation, who would you put inthere? If you were Coach Sumter.
If it's like Nick Book goes down, you have a great Luke Vandergrif.
Oh yeah, he's a monster.So if Nick Book goes down and you
have a tall player that can reallyget up there and get rebounds, I'm
gonna go with Drew Haffner, Ithink with I mean, I saw it

in the HSC game. He gotsome minutes and he's a beautiful shot.
So he just fits another guard dynamicthat we have going for us. And
even Brock Denimore getting him some minutes, I think that could be special as
well. M Yeah, Brock wouldhave been my pick if he wasn't injured
at the moment. Jalen Malone isanother guy I'm liking, but a guy

that I think could get some minutesthat I really wanted to get minutes.
Last night at the guard position wasRyan Huntsucker, a JV phenom. I
was watching him in person. Itwas the Carmel JV game and he just
like, not many. I'm gonnabe completely honest with you. When people

are at the gym about to watchthe game, the JV game comes on
first, not as many people arepaying attention. They're on their phone.
They're getting their last little looks attheir phone before the show begins. But
I hate to break it to you, guys, the show had already begun
and it was Ryan Huntsucker just puttingon an absolute master class driving to the

rim, you know, drawing fouls. He was so great. I think
he deserves an opportunity some point downthe line. And now with Westfield moving
off of last night's game, they'retaking on another conference opponent on Friday.
It's Brownsburg at Brownsburg. We sawBrownsburg last year here at the CSI Gymnasium,

but they're a completely different team now. Last year led by el Hajj
Diallo and Cannon Catchings. Now Diallograduated catchings over at Overtime Elite. But
before we get into Brownsburg, goingto Cannon Catchings Purdue commit. I know
you Drew, you know a lotabout him. Why do you think players
now are either a going to prepschools or two just going to things like

you know, the overtime elite,like those kind of leagues like we saw
the Thompson Twins do. Why doyou think young players are doing that can
instead of you know, staying attheir normal high school like like can catching
Ze coach stay at Brownsburg? Whydo you think he went to overtime Elite.
I think it's a resume thing.But not only that, the level

there's a different level at the prepschool. You've got guys that they're not
just set on playing ball, likenot set just going D one. They
want to go to the NBA.So I think it's a different level of
competition. But also for Cannon,it's a chance to get his name out
there in case maybe perdue, becausePurdue's got a lot of talent coming in
and a lot of guys that aregoing to be there for a while,
so maybe get his name more outthere and then possibly decommit and go somewhere

else. Yeah, I agree,I think it's it's a way to get
your name out there. More thanyou can get your name out there in
high school. And it's also youget highlights, you know, you see
overtime all the time on social media. So it's just a way, really,
I think other colleges can really likesee you if you're like on social
media, and it's like you canjust get your name out there more than
you wouldn't in high school. Yeah, and like not only Cannon catching's doing

it, but like it was ina very short time frame. Jalen Harrelson
from Fishers. He also came outand left for a prep school up in
Indiana, and I was pretty Iwas pretty shocked that he left Fishers and
Fishers they're killing it without him.But that's for another episode. Brownsburg led

by Grant Poorreth, a guy whowas more of a role player last year
and of course the brother of Purduecommit Spencer Pore the kicker. Just with
when you were talking about Grant Poorreth, how do you think he's been able
to step up in this role anddo you think it has a lot to
do with Cannon and Diallo leaving.I think it definitely does. It gives

him more of a time to shine. And that's the thing about these six
A high schools, and I talkabout it all the time, is there's
a different level of talent. Sowhen you have guys like Diallo and Catching's
gone, it gives people opportunities likePoorth to capitalize and truly show what they're
made of instead of just being arole player. Yeah. I agree with
everything Drew said right there, notaf not only that with Brownsburg, that

that matchup just means so much tome because that was the first real game
I called, even though we hadtechnical issues that game. That the Westfield
Brownsburg matchup always means a lot tome and Brownsburg though, going back to
the actual team, they're eight andseven, I mean that they're kind of

just just barely have their head abovewater. How can they come out and
shock Westfield? How how do youthink they can get it done? I'll
start with Cali here. I meangrand Poorth, you gotta get hot,
you know, that's something like hehas to do. He has to get
points on the board, and ultimatelythey have to stop like Nick Book,

Trey Will Harvey. They have toreally stop the main core of Westfield,
which is gonna be really hard becauseNobles Will, who we thought maybe could
stop them, they didn't stop them. So it's gonna be a challenge for
Brownsburg is how they can stop themand get points on the board and really
pulling away from Westfield in some wayto get to win. I agree with

that, but also Brownsburg the recordmay not show the most success, but
this is a good this is stilla good team. It's the HCC a
road game for the Rocks. Andwhat Brownsburg can do is they really have
to guard Westfood on the arc.Westfold likes to shoot for me on the
arc. And also the only conto that method of approach is Nickbook and

the paint because he really he reallycan kill you as well, So switching,
maybe drawing double teams in the post, doing all those things. And
they also have to allot ask togo their way and they can do it.
Yeah, And that's what's really unfortunatewith Brownsburg. Like going back to
last year, Alex Romac tallest onthe floor by far all Can Catchings.

He was up there with him,and Catchings was playing more of a guard
role despite being like the size ofyou know, up to the ceiling here.
But what's interesting was Romac was thetallest guy on the floor. He
was being guarded by el Hotch Dialloprobably four inches shorter than him, and
Dialla was having his way all night. And that's what's so unfortunate with Brownsburg.

Diallo graduated. Now we're in asituation where Nick Book. I don't
think anybody can guard Nick Book.I'll be honest with you and Nick Book,
I love I love your Rome.Nick Book's a better player, and
we're looking at a Division I talent, an international superstar. If he doesn't

make the NBA, he's definitely goingto the NBL. He's at least going
to the NBL. He told methat that's one of his goals, is
to at least make the NBL,which is where his father ed Domin dominated
for so many years. But notonly that. Westfield after the Browns were
game taking on try West, ateam they dominated last year and that was

a home double header, will notdouble Heather a home back to back last
year, it's in a way backto back this year they flipped the schedule.
So I want to get you yourtake on back to backs and how
they affect the team. Do youthink Westfield will be affected with the fatigue
of a back to back. Ithink they'll definitely have fatigue for sure.
Luckily it's against try West. Didthem dirty man? Yeah? And then

that's no disrespect. It's just differentsize high schools, different levels of talent.
So I think that's I think they'llbe okay. But I do think
Try West will give them some sortof game because of the fatigue. Yeah,
I agree. I think fatigue willplay a role, but I don't
think we'll play that bag role,especially like if you have some players who
don't play against Bronsburg, they cango in against try West and dominate there.

Now, with both games coming up, I'm gonna give you over under
and it's Tray Buchanan over under.Let's give it like an average for the
two games, over under a thirteenpoint average for the two games, and
Nick Book and over under eight reboundsfor the two games average. I'll go

with Trey. I think he's goingover. I think last night really gave
him that spark back, and Ithink he's gonna show that against Brownsburg and
try West. I think he's gonnaget twenty in one of those games,
pot take maybe, And for NickBook, I think I'm gonna take.
I'm gonna take the over and maybeput him in nine rebounds. I'm gonna

go over on ball. I thinktry since he got hot. You know
we've seen, we've talked about him, how he's not been where he wants
to be. Now since he's gettingagain, I think he'll have thirteen points,
I'm hoping in one game. Soand I'm gonna go over on nick
Book. You know we've seen nickBook rebound ball after ball, so I
think he's gonna have more than liketen rebounds. I'm gonna hammer the over

on both as well. But movingon from the boys, we're gonna get
to the girls real quick, andthey have a lot of explaining to do.
They've dropped three games in a row, and I want to talk about
the one you called Drew, andI'll talk about the one you called Cali,
but let's talk about hsc both homegames, and it was an absolute

slaughter, sixty four to thirty seven. I you commit Maya McClusky twenty four
points and she attempted a lot ofshots twenty one and Westfield only one scorer
in double digits. That was Lindsayvan Dijk. In Westfield, they're kind
of on a free fall. Howdo you think they can just skip back

on track. In general, theyneed to start hitting more shots. Against
HSC, they were taking good shots. It's not like they were forced.
They just cold and then they hadno They've in the two games against the
Hamilton Heights and HC they had noanswer for Cameron Runner and Maya McCluskey.

So I think they have to findways to contain elite level players like that,
and they just got to get someof their shots stuff all, which
I think they will eventually. Ithink they're just in a little bit of
a slumper now. Yeah, Iagree there we need Like we've seen that
Cameron Runner ran up thirty points onI mean, you know Mia also did

the same thing. She ran upthis stat sheets. So it's just they
controlled the game the whole game.It's something Westfield really couldn't help and stopped.
You know, once they got hot, there was no looking back.
Yeah. But speaking of the oppositeof hot cold, and I think that's
how to describe the performance with Westfieldshooting in this game and Ellie Keller her

shooting three for thirteen, just howimportant is it for her to be at
her best? Well, she isthe leader on this team. I mean
she has to take command. RegularLorenzen has to hit more as well.
So but for Ellie, the wayshe has to lead the offense, she's
got to hit more shots. AndI think she's just been a little cool

racent. I expect that to getback on track. Yeah, I think
it's just like everyone getting back intrack. Like we've seen Ellie Keller,
she was great like all the games. But regular Lorenzen, you know,
Lizzy Van Dyke and really like MICHAELAhasher. You know, they're doing their
thing. But it's just it's notthe way Westfield's running because if they score
the teams they played the last coupleof weeks really just came back and scored

really fast on drives that and I'llI'll be honest with you. I mean,
it doesn't help with Westfield on thelosing streak. They've been playing great
teams. Hamilton Heights there, Ithink they could be a team that could
possibly win State. They're gonna wintheir sectional for sure. HC another team

I think that could win state aswell. And then their next opponent the
day after the HC game, noteven twenty four hours later, it was
less than twenty hours later, theytake on Indian Creek. What a game
CALLI you were on play by playfor that, just what a game overall?
And Westfield they still have not postedtheir stats and you know it's a

heartbreaking loss and you don't post yourstats on max preps. But I just
want to ask you again, adouble not double header back to back is
difficult, for sure, but whenthey're within not even twenty four hours of
each other, twenty hours, howmuch more difficult do you think that makes

it? Oh? It makes itdifficult. You know, you have fatigue,
and you know, especially you playeda game last night and you had
a game kind of in the morning, so it's like it's like you really
didn't get a time to relax,go through really film of what happened this
game to change you know, it'sreally just a fast pace go home,
and then you wake up and it'stime to get ready. So it's like
it was just fast paced at reallyfor them, I completely agree with Cali,

and I think the way the teamsthey've had to face in the last
couple in the last week, reallytwo tough teams in the last in less
than twenty four hours. It's reallytough. And for the girls They've got
a little bit of a break here, so their next game, I definitely
expect them to come out fire.And I think this week Coach Steele's definitely

getting their girls motivated and they'll beready to shine. Yeah, and looking
at the box score, it's avery similar story to how Westfield guarded the
two best players on the court.And like you mentioned, maybe it's because
they couldn't watch film in that timeframe, like Faith Wiseman and Lauren Foster
dropping twenty and seventeen reminds me alot of Kendy Holman and Maya McClusky dropping

twenty four and seventeen the night before. And with Westfield just moving forward from
this game, how important is itto contain not only the best player on
the court, but the second bestplayer on the court. How do you
think they can get that done?I think just defensive rotations, finding that

lineup. And also, like yousaid, Kennedy Holman only a sophomore,
and she came out and she wasin control of the in commandity offense the
entire game and defensively she was aggressive. So for Westwood, they have to
find way to take not only thisbest score or mostly player on the court,

but also the second best role playerand contain them. And for the
girls, this is a good girlsteam. Let's not forget that they've been
in a little slump lately. SoI expect them on Friday against Brownsburg to
get that win. It'd be kindof like a rebound after everything that's been
happening lately. Yeah, I agree. I think they have to find where

like the matchup is set and whereit can really get the opponents out of
their comfort zone and not on fire. You know, we kind of just
need to stop. It's kind ofthe whole team if we're stopping too,
you know, because there could beanother player that can shoot. So it's
like most players have more than two. So it's like if you stop these
two, you also have to preparefor more. So it's just the defense.

But I Stield has to find thatperfect rotation and who's guarding who.
Yeah, definitely, But Westfield comingup. Only two more regular season games
and this Sunday the sectional draw,which I'm sure all of our eyes will
be glued to that another double header. It's Brownsburg and Brownsburg. Just like

the boys, a bit of adown year. They're nine and eleven.
Westfield, they have the perfect opportunityto bounce back. How do you put
the past week behind you and putyour head up and move forward? How
do you do that? I thinkyou've just got to get shots to fall.

When you get shots to fall,And my experiences back in the day
in wreck basketball, not that it'sthe same thing, but I would have
some bad games and then I'd hitsome shots. It changes your confidence and
stuff like that. So for them, if they can come out and they
come out fire and right away andget that win at Brownsburg would totally change
the outlook of the season. Who'slike your NBA comparison? Like, if

you can compare your game to anyNBA player. I was a late bloomer,
so I'm gonna say, are youOh I could shoot threes? I
would, I would miss. Iwould take a lot of shots, so
I'd miss a lot, but Ialso hit some and then I always like
to drive and try to draw foulso I loved going for contact. Do
you know who I would compare mygame to? Who? Shane Winnington?

I bet you haven't heard that namebefore. If you have. If you
have, then you're an absolute gNow, yeah, we'll go to you,
Kelly, if moving on from that, how can Westfield just move on
from prior mistakes and beat a Brownsburgteam that's kind of on you know,
the down words spiral. I mean, I think coach Deal this week's really

been helping them with their mistakes.Now I've talked with her, you know,
she's see those mistakes. So I'mdefinitely in practice this week there's been
more intensity, more we want this, and I think especially now, their
confidence is brought down. So Ithink they just need to get their confidence
back up. You know, that'ssomething going to a game, if you
don't have that confidence, it's notgonna go the way. So if you're
a Westfield you have to have theconfident. Yeah. And after that,

on the twenty third, their finalregular season game, just like last year,
it's Ben Davis. This time atBen Davis. Shout out to the
one and only Garrett Berkele. I'msure he'll be doing play by play for
that. Me and Garrett have beentalking about not only Westfield, but Ben
Davis as well, with the girls'teams and Ben Davis girls. After a
great year last year, they havejust fallen off completely and it doesn't help

that their best player went off tocollege, went off to Miami of Ohio.
Now with Westfield, and she wasa center, so that leads a
big, gaping hole down low.And with Westfield, how how do you
think they can dominate down low?And how important is it to dominate the

paint in this game? It's veryimportant, And I think a player that
really doesn't get a lot of opportunitiesin the paint, but I could see
succeeding Loveless. I think with howathletic she is in her size, I
think she could be very good inthe paint. And also for Westfield,
I think drawing those double teams inthe post could be very beneficial as well

to slowing down Ben Davis's interior attack. Yeah, I agree, I think
Loveless and also Price. You know, we've Shoen in Price rebound. We've
seen to get up there and makethose plays. So it's just really like
stopping them in the paint and gettingthe rebound. And I think I like
Drew double team, you know,get them uncomfortable. Yeah. Now,
from the final question, with girlsbasketball, we're gonna do this again over

under for the for the two gamescoming up average, let's say over under
Ellie Keller her points per game forthe two games ten. I'm definitely gonna
hammer it over there. I thinkfor Ellie Keller, she's not like the
way her teams performed the last threegames. I think she's gonna come out

being very aggressive and I think she'sgonna make her presence felt for sure.
Yeah, I'm gonna go over.I think she's gonna get a ten points
easily. I hope she gets more. You know, we've seen the last
couple of games he had ten points, so I'm hoping she puts up ten
points in one game. Yeah,and I definitely agree with that. I

they had a great bounce back performancelast Thursday Senior Night against Garren Catholic
and it was led by Gracie Alleyfinishing first in the individual medley and the
one hundred free and the Rocks.They have the entire top three of the
two hundred free. They take onAvon tonight at Avon. Actually, I

might take a trip out there.Might I might catch a meat. I
know Ellie Hill would be happy tosee me there. But this with Westfield,
how much do you think this performancemeans to this team, especially with
you know, kind of like theslow start they got off to, it
means a lot and for Westfield obviously. The thing I like about the swim

team that I've observed is how closeof the unit they are, just with
their team bonding activities, whatever youwant to call them, their hangouts,
they're they're very close. But alsothis season they just haven't performed the way
they had hoped, so for themto get the win against Garon Catholic,
it's definitely special. Yeah, Iagree. I think they really have a

team like no other. Like youknow, they bond like and I think
that's really good because swims a lotof mental like, you know, because
like once you're on there, it'syou versus everybody else, So it's a
mental game. And I think thisbounce back, especially in tearing Catholic great,
And you know when they play Avon, when they swim against Avon tonight,
it's gonna be a good thing again. You know. I hope they

win. Yeah, me too,And like and like you said, it's
a big mental battle, which hereminds me of. Obviously, it's very
different, but doing a solo broadcastyou know, I felt like, you
know, it was me against myself. I feel like I was battling myself
trying to be the best I possiblycould, and overall I thought I did

a pretty good job. But that'sfor you the viewer to judge. Maybe
some of you liked it, maybesome of you didn't. That's perfectly fine.
Let's move on to wrestling where goingback, they took on Carmel last
week, took an unfortunate twenty eightto thirty seven loss, but Porter and
Hank Temples both picking up wins andthey're gonna compete in the HCC Individual Tournament

this Saturday. And we talked aboutPorter and Hank Temple's two guys who pretty
much it feels like every match,not every match, but just every meet
they've been picking up wins, andhow important will their success matter in the
individual tournament this weekend. It willdefinitely be a big impact. Two brothers.

It comes from a wrestling family,It's in their blood. And also,
I wanted to give a shout outon the topic of wrestling to my
good friend Jake says intro to Calm. We made some pretty great videos together,
So yeah, shout out Jake yeah. I think going to an independent
tournament where it's like you and notlike your whole team, I think it's

important. Like you know, youknow, you're playing for what you want
to win at the end, soit's very important. Especially you know,
they have great combients, so they'regonna do good in this tournament over the
