Speaker 2 (00:30):
It is a brand new year and it is already
off to like a weird start.
Speaker 3 (00:36):
Oh, I had a feeling I don't see anything getting
easier or better, you know, for a while. But yeah,
we're in twenty twenty five now. Shockingly, I've been writing
twenty twenty five because usually it used to take me
months before I wrote the correct year.
Speaker 2 (00:53):
I haven't had to write it yet. I don't think tomorrow.
I'm going for a procedure, so I'm sure they're gonna
have a bud to paperwork to sign, to sign and
fill out. So I just have to remember, like, it's
not twenty twenty four, and I know, I know.
Speaker 3 (01:07):
That year flew. It flew, and we've been gone for since.
Before Christmas, we took a little holiday break, which was
much needed oh my.
Speaker 2 (01:15):
God, so needed. I can't tell you how we like relaxed.
I felt we didn't even go anywhere.
Speaker 3 (01:20):
No, it's just you know, shutting down your brain a
little bit more and not stressing out about things, seeing family,
having fun, you know, eating good food, and it's it
was nice. It was really nice.
Speaker 2 (01:32):
Yeah. We came back to like thousands of emails.
Speaker 3 (01:36):
Oh I felt like.
Speaker 2 (01:38):
You for a minute with you and your text messages
and emails. Yep, how many emails are you up to buy?
Speaker 1 (01:45):
Now?
Speaker 3 (01:45):
Let's see. I mean, I don't I feel like this
is all of them included, because I have to like,
say nine, all right, so I think it's showing me
my three different email dresses, but it's saying I have
ninety two thousand, six hundred and fifty nine emails.
Speaker 2 (02:01):
Okay, ours was wasn't that bad at at all?
Speaker 3 (02:04):
I hope not.
Speaker 2 (02:05):
It was like a thousand. A lot of them were
press releases though, yeah, but yeah.
Speaker 3 (02:10):
It's it's a lot. We've been gone for what two weeks?
Three weeks?
Speaker 2 (02:14):
Almost three weeks because last week I was sick.
Speaker 3 (02:17):
Yeah, so it's it's I'm sure we're gonna be That's
why the next month has been catching up playing ketchup.
Oh yeah, that's the negatives of taking a break. Then
you have to play catch up and then you're stressed
out again.
Speaker 2 (02:29):
So yeah, and then like we're already planning, I said
Talala the other day, I'm like, let's just skip Valentine's
Day because whoa, we don't really do anything anyway, but
we just need a break.
Speaker 3 (02:44):
We have to catch up and have to catch up. Yeah.
Besides that, it's just like Christmas. We got, as you
guys know, we got amazing, amazing stuff, but so much
of it and for me and her on our own,
it was a lot. So we're still playing ketch up
here and yeah, yeah, we'll see you guys. Is probably
what Mother's Day or what are we shooting for next
Eastern Mother's.
Speaker 2 (03:04):
Day, Eastern's Day? I don't even know what's in between.
We really need like an intern or an assistant. That's
what we really need. So if anybody is in our
local area and wants to be like an intern for us,
let us know.
Speaker 3 (03:19):
Because we really need we need someone.
Speaker 2 (03:21):
There has been a lot going on in the news lately,
locally and nationally. Nationally, we have the fires that are
happening you know, we went through that locally, but LA
is completely like gone, Yeah, it looks.
Speaker 3 (03:37):
Like a war zone. Horrible, And reading the stories, it's
just so upseting. Some of the stories that I read.
There was one it's upset and I don't want to
bring down the mood, but it's just like really heartbreaking.
This father who was an amputegue he had one leg.
He had a child with celvere palsy.
Speaker 2 (03:56):
I heard that.
Speaker 3 (03:57):
Yeah, he died that he couldn't get the lift the
child to get him out of the house because of
whatever his wheelchair, whatever it is, and the father having
one leg, and he had the chance to leave the
child there I guess the kid and I don't know
how old he was, but the kid was saying, just
leave me, just leave me, get out, Dad, and he
said no, and he sat with him and they both
(04:17):
died in the fire. So the father sacrificed his life
so that his child, his son, wouldn't die alone. And
it breaks my heart. I'm getting all emotional right now.
But all these kinds of stories coming out of LA.
You know, they always say look for the good, look
for the good, And there's been a ton of good.
There's been there's there's volunteers and other countries coming to
help us, and you know all the donations that are
(04:40):
going on. But then there's the bad and the depressing
stories and the heartbreak, and yeah, my heart goes out
to them. It is it's scary.
Speaker 2 (04:50):
Maybe Spencer and Heidi need to hear that story from
the Hills the news. They are the only real celebrities
that are really like going after like they want money,
they want to rebuild their house, which I understand, but
you're famous, you have money, you know. I'm sure the
(05:12):
person that had CP and the amputated leg didn't have
as much money.
Speaker 1 (05:17):
Issue.
Speaker 3 (05:19):
You know, what it probably is is that they were
hasbins And I'm wondering if they weren't really making much
money after that, because are they are they doing anything?
Do they have a company, do they have business? Are
they in shows anymore?
Speaker 2 (05:32):
I don't think they're in shows. I don't know. I
don't follow them. Yeah apparently, I mean what has been
coming up on TikTok. I believe he has his own
crystal business, so yeah, you could buy like crystals off
of him. I'm not really sure, to be honest with you,
but I do know that she has music out because
(05:55):
he's promoting it and he was trying to get her
to number one on iTunes. I believe, and I guess
it happened. So I guess if you become number one,
you get like royalty or something. But you know, the
royalties that you get are like five sons, yeah, ten sons,
you know, maybe a dollar. What is that going to
do for you?
Speaker 1 (06:14):
You know? You know.
Speaker 2 (06:16):
He also said that he went to his parents' second home,
so they're renting the parents second home. Well, that's great
for you. That's sad that you lost your house and
your childhood stuff for the kids. You know, I feel
for you, but you have family and other resources available
(06:37):
to you. And then your second house is on the beach.
Speaker 3 (06:41):
Yeah, oh my god, that sucks.
Speaker 2 (06:43):
You know, so we're near the beach. I don't know,
but it's just put yourself in those people's shoes. Yeah,
you know, And I know if he's listening, which I
know he's not, but if he is listening, he's probably
gonna be like, you know, you don't know what we've
gone through. And you know, no, I don't know what
you've gone through, but you are way better off than
(07:04):
most people.
Speaker 3 (07:05):
And that's what I was meaning was that I think
maybe the hardshift comes from they might have paid that
house off when they were doing really well in the
industry and then now and they were living that life
without all that money coming in. But like, okay, it's
paid off. Now it burnt down. Now they have nothing.
Now they start from scratch, you know, And that's probably
why they're freaking out a little bit. Is like, you know,
(07:27):
I don't know, I could be wrong, but everyone's going
through it. And like Seanna said, there's people way way
worse off than you. Count your blessings and we we
we feel for you. But it's kind of it seems
kind of cringey going on TV and online and begging
for people to donate money or whatever else they're asking for.
(07:48):
It's a little cringey.
Speaker 2 (07:50):
So last week I was flipping through Facebook and I
see a post, you know, in the one of the
local groups saying that there's a man walking around town
and he's going up to people's doors and looking in
and you know, just really weird. And he had like
tags on and somebody had written, you know, like he
(08:11):
was just looking for like a salesman, Yeah, for like
solar panels. And other people were like, you know, he's
walking around looking indoors. So I just thought it was
a little weird. So I'm like, you know, I tell you.
And then all of a sudden, you're like, my mom
goes out to get the mail, and you're like, I
(08:33):
think that's the guy. And I'm like what. They're like,
that's the guy walking by your house And.
Speaker 3 (08:38):
It was I know, and we had a zoom in
on that we did.
Speaker 2 (08:43):
So I look on my phone. I have vivin home
security cameras and as he was walking by, the camera
went off like it whistles and then it goes you
are being recorded, and he looked up and just kept walking.
Speaker 3 (09:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (09:00):
So with that announcement of the cameras, it deterred him
from coming to my house, and probably my mom scared him,
you know. But I was like, Mom, don't go outside,
but she was already outside, so you know, I asked her.
I'm like, did he say anything to you? And she's like, no,
I just ran back in the house. She didn't even
see the posts at first, you know. I told her
(09:21):
about it when she came in. She said, he looked
like he was up to something.
Speaker 3 (09:27):
Yeah, I saw him outside because I walked out to
the window to look and yeah, he seemed like something
was missing up there in that rain. So you never
can be too careful, you know.
Speaker 2 (09:39):
No, but thank god I had those cameras and they
went off.
Speaker 3 (09:43):
Yeah that's that. It's great when you have something like
that that makes an announcement, Hey, you're being recorded right now.
Just so it's saying some people might be some people
might not care, some burglars or bad people, but for
the most part, I think like ninety percent are gonna
like not the house I'm targeting.
Speaker 2 (10:02):
Yeah, especially you know, I was thinking about it. I
get a lot of deliveries for the show and Amazon personally,
and every time that they drop off a package, you know,
it alerts them that they're being recorded. So I'm like, hmm,
don't steal my packages. Yeah, you know, because you see
that all the time porch thieves coming and just taking
(10:24):
packages of people's Yeah. So yeah, I love my Vivent
security system And I could even turn the heat up
and down from my phone because it has like a
heat system in my house. Yeah, So I like that
as well about it.
Speaker 3 (10:42):
I love that because when I'm in bed in the morning,
especially I'm always freezing when I wake up, and I
dread getting out of bed to go raise the temperature.
So if I could do it for my phone, that
would be amazing.
Speaker 2 (10:54):
Yeah, well, you could actually set it so like at
ten o'clock at night. Let's say I have it on
a schedule. I think it's like ten thirty at night
to turn the heat down to sixty three, and then
in the morning I turn it up manually. Yeah, and
then at eleven pm my doors lock.
Speaker 3 (11:16):
Oh that's awesome.
Speaker 2 (11:18):
Yeah, because sometimes I forget to lock my doors, but
they they lock automatically at eleven pm. And then if
you unlock the door, you know, coming home. Two minutes
after you come home, it locks the door.
Speaker 1 (11:30):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (11:31):
That scared me. Coming it scared me.
Speaker 2 (11:33):
I still have to get used to it because I'll
hear it and I'm like, oh my god, who's here?
Speaker 3 (11:37):
Yeah, you come in. You if you don't lock the door,
and then you're doing something here, your door is locking itself,
Like what the hell?
Speaker 2 (11:44):
Yeah, that's good.
Speaker 3 (11:47):
That is I've seen so many videos on Instagram where
someone's bringing groceries into their house and you know they're
then they're putting them away. They forget that they didn't
lock the door. That would be you, Yes, that would
be me. And then there's a man who saw them
what they were doing and targeted them and came in
the house and she starts screaming, but he's already in
the house. So that is amazing that it does lock
(12:08):
behind you, so there's no mistakes to me.
Speaker 2 (12:11):
Yeah, I'm speaking of like having an intruder. You could
even like if there's so if you're like held by
like knife point or something or gunpoint and they say,
like turn off the alarm, you could put in a
secret code. I don't even remember what the code is,
but you could put in a like a code and
it'll automatically call the police station.
Speaker 3 (12:33):
Oh so you could tell them, oh, I'm typing in
the code like to shut it down. But that's like
you're that's yeah, okay, that's that's crazy.
Speaker 2 (12:41):
Yeah, it's it's really really cool. Yeah. I love it.
I I like the the ease of access.
Speaker 3 (12:50):
Yeah, I love it. I like the clarity of the
cameras when I'm watching the video. The other day, my
daughter was at Shawna's house and she fell. I don't
I don't know how she fell. That I was able
to backtrack and watch that and the video because we
were watching the video and it was clear you could
hear her. You could hear me.
Speaker 2 (13:10):
I heard you blowing in her face.
Speaker 3 (13:12):
Yeah, it could hear me, because my daughter when she fell,
she held her breath and she was turning blue. I
was freaking out. And I don't even know who told
me this. It's probably like an old wives thing, but
when someone's holding their breath, they won't breathe. If you
blow in their face, Supposedly it makes them take a
breath in. I don't know, but you hear me going
blowing in my daughter's face like Juliana Julia Julia, and
(13:35):
she goes limp in my arms and then she takes
a breath and starts screaming. But the camera picked that up.
It picked up me breathing like blowing in her face,
which I thought it was awesome.
Speaker 2 (13:45):
I thought it was a little weird.
Speaker 3 (13:46):
I mean, it's weird, I'm saying, but it's good that
it could pick up that sound. Yeah, yeah, it's weird,
but I don't know. That's what my instinct was to
do because someone had.
Speaker 2 (13:55):
Told me that maybe I need to put it up higher.
So that way it could reach like the whole living room.
Speaker 3 (14:02):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (14:02):
I don't know, we'll play around with it, but I
love it. Check out vivint dot com and it's the
home security system that we have and I absolutely love it.
Speaker 3 (14:13):
Oh my god, I have the funniest well, I don't
know if it's the funniest story, but it was pretty
funny to me. This past weekend, my husband last minute
wanted to go see Den of Thieves too, and you know,
we like number one, so he's like, oh, let's go
see it. He had a movie ticket from Christmas, so
we rush out, and I remember he wanted to sit
more in the middle, but the seats next to the
(14:34):
middle were like the seats that he wanted were taken,
and so he picked the seats right next to it.
So we get there and the people that bought those
seats next to us it was a little kid, two
little kids, and a father. And I remember thinking like,
as I was sitting down, like, wow, they look young.
This is a rated R movie and it's pretty pretty gory.
(14:55):
You know, it's pretty violent. I was like, all right,
I'm not gonna judge. I'm not gonna be one of
those parents sit down, and then Mike's looking at the kids.
He looks at me. He goes like, they're dressed up
in Sonic outfits. So I look and they're in like
Sonic onesies. They have Sonic dolls in their hands, and
I'm like, and Sonic is out in the movies. So
Mike goes, oh, it's a movie. Yeah, it's a movie.
Speaker 2 (15:17):
Oh I thought it was a video game.
Speaker 3 (15:18):
Well it's also they made a movie like movie out
of it. So that's playing right now in the theater too.
So Mike goes, I wonder if the father is watching
this movie first, and then he's gonna take the kids
to see Sonic. And I'm like, yeah, maybe, but that's
that's kind of messed up, like he shouldn't have kids here.
You know, this is a bad movie. So now the
(15:39):
previews start, and you know how they gear the previews
towards what kind of movie you're watching. Stuff you're watching
a kid's movie. The previews are usually cartoons and romance.
It's usually romantic stuff like this is a gory drama, thriller,
action movie.
Speaker 1 (15:51):
You know.
Speaker 3 (15:52):
So, as you can imagine, the previews were really really bad.
And the first movie comes up and it's like about
this woman or thing that kills men, like she stabs them,
she just cuts their necks open. And so they're showing
this girl like slicing the man's neck open. And I
look over to see the kids and they are their
(16:13):
eyes are so big, and they're they look scared. And
the father looks mortified, and he's looking around the room
like what the you know, what the fuck? And he
tells the littlest one, He's like, go to the bathroom.
Go to the bathroom. So she runs out, and I'm like, Mike,
I really don't think he's in the right movie. And
Mike goes, I don't want to say anything, because, you know,
(16:33):
like this is the problem with society. Sometimes you could
say something and people get snotty with you. You know
that he could have turned around, like mind your business,
I'm taking my kids to see this. I'm the parent,
you know. Yeah, we didn't know what to do. And
then the next one was a sex scene, like really
graphic sex scene, and the father you saw the guy's
ass and like the girls like tits, you know, and
(16:56):
they were going at it on the counter, and I'm
like and I look over and the father's telling you know,
talking to the kids, so he's not looking at the screen,
and Mike goes, are you are you in the wrong movie?
And the guy goes, what movie is this? Mike said,
Denna thieves too, and the guy's like, shit, we're supposed
to be in Sonic. And Mike goes, yeah, I had
(17:18):
a feeling, well, Sonic's not here, and he goes, they
told me to come down in this theater. And he
didn't even close his recliner. He grabbed the kids and
he booked it out of the movie theater. And I
was like, oh, boy, that wife or his baby mama,
or they're probably divorced. Who knows. She is gonna be
pissed when she finds out Daddy took us to see
and we saw this and that, you know. But Mike
(17:41):
doesn't think that they told them the wrong theater. Mike
thinks he bought the wrong tickets because those seats were
bought you know, on the apt Well, you've never really gone,
but you buy your tickets beforehand.
Speaker 2 (17:52):
Yeah, the last time I went to the movies was
to see Magic. Mike.
Speaker 3 (17:59):
Oh jeez, that's a long time ago.
Speaker 2 (18:00):
That's the last time that I bought tickets and then
my friend bought tickets to see some It was some runner,
I don't know, some movie with a runner. And that
was the last time that I went to the movies.
And I don't remember if she had to pick the
seats beforehand or not.
Speaker 3 (18:19):
Yeah, I mean, I don't know when they started that.
But I do like it better because we used to
have to. You know, you got to rush to the
movie theater to get a good seat. Now you could
just pick the perfect seats, and I love it.
Speaker 2 (18:29):
Yeah, I don't go to the movies often. Number one,
it's way too expensive. And number two, I'd rather just
watch it in the comfort of my own home, be
able to pause it.
Speaker 3 (18:40):
Yeah, I get it. I mean certain movies I want
to see in the theater. I want that sound, I
want the darkness. I want the big screen, but a lot. Yeah,
just watch it at home. Just watch it at home
with a cheaper bag of popcorn. We got a small
bag of popcorn. It was ten dollars for a small
freaking bag of popcorn. I'm like, this is unbelievable.
Speaker 1 (19:00):
I couldn't.
Speaker 2 (19:00):
Yeah, when my friend bought me my ticket because uh,
you know, she invited me to go, so her husband
didn't want to go, so she's like, will you go
with me? I said, I I'll goo. So it was
kind of like a chick movie anyway. So I said,
you know, you bought me my ticket, I'll buy like
the popcorn in the soda. It was like fifty dollars.
Speaker 3 (19:20):
Yeah, yeah, you can't win. You can't win.
Speaker 2 (19:23):
I said to the guy, I'm like, for one soda
and one you know, the tub of it. Probably No,
it wasn't a tub. It was like a maybe like medium,
a large, Yeah, enough for both of us. But she
didn't even eat the popcorn.
Speaker 3 (19:36):
Really, oh my god.
Speaker 2 (19:37):
So you know, it was all me and it gives
it makes me, you know, really sick. So I can
only just the butter. But I love it. I just
bought it home. But yeah, I couldn't believe it. I'm like,
did you like overcharge me?
Speaker 1 (19:50):
No?
Speaker 2 (19:51):
And he's like, no, these are the prices, ma'am. I'm like,
oh my god, this is why I never come here.
Speaker 3 (19:56):
Yeah, it's ridiculous.
Speaker 1 (19:58):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (19:59):
So, I don't know if you heard, but a local
father actually he went to the school that we all
went to. He had a daughter and he was supposed
to he was awarded full custody of her, and the
mother fled with her girl. She's three years old and
(20:20):
she's missing. And at first the police wouldn't get involved,
I guess, But now that it's become such a news story.
I don't know how it became such a new story
so quickly, but it did. But now that it's you know,
national news, the police and everybody.
Speaker 3 (20:40):
Yeah, first they got to cover their butts.
Speaker 2 (20:41):
Yeah, exactly. So I saw the news story and the mom,
I guess has some mental health issues and she had
written satanic messages in her closet.
Speaker 3 (20:54):
Oh my god, that's all. Yeah that this is like
one of my episodes of Fronts. I hope it doesn't
end like that. But oh, that's so scary. And I'm
guessing no updates. They didn't find her. They have no
idea where she could have fled to.
Speaker 1 (21:09):
No.
Speaker 2 (21:09):
But my thing is is she's been missing since November.
The mother, the little girl, and the mother's oldest child
is a little boy and he actually went to the
school that we went to, and they the school said
he's been out of school since November. So they've been
(21:29):
missing since like the end of November. Why didn't the
school call CPS and say, hey, this kid hasn't been
here since November. I mean maybe they did, but it's
not in the report, and there should have been a
missing child alert going off back in November, not January.
Speaker 3 (21:49):
Yeah, yeah, I mean why didn't did the father alert
the school like and say, hey, my kids are gone?
You know that? That's I'm confused about that too, because
if me and my husband were separated and he didn't
see his kids and he would call the school and say, hey,
you know my kids there, blah blah blah, I don't
(22:10):
I don't under This is all really confusing to me.
This whole story is a little weird.
Speaker 2 (22:14):
Yeah, I don't know, it's it's very confusing. Hopefully, you know,
more details come out about the case and about his situation,
but you know, we were like confused a little bit.
And then somebody in the family kind of like stepped
up and wrote like some stuff on Facebook saying like, listen,
(22:35):
he did get emergency full custody. Yeah, So for a
father to get emergency full custody, like, there had to
be something wrong with the mom.
Speaker 3 (22:44):
Mm hmm exactly. So pray to God that those kids
are safe. Just let's just pray that she loves them
that much that she couldn't bear giving them up, and
she has them somewhere safe, because you hear bad stories
about this kind of stuff all the time. Oh God.
I also want to add we talked about Zag on
(23:04):
a few episodes ago.
Speaker 2 (23:05):
I think it was, Yeah, I think our holiday episode.
Speaker 3 (23:08):
And how much we love them. And I am just
so grateful right now, so for you. As I said
last time, the first time ever with all my iPhones
I've ever had, I got the Zag camera lens cover
and I've never ever had one before on any of
my iPhones. Well, I have the new iPhone sixteen Pro,
very expensive, right, and I put the Zag camera lens
(23:31):
cover on when I was talking to you guys last
and it came in handy. I dropped my phone today
and the whole camera lens cover is shattered. Right now,
that would have been my camera lens on my phone
and I wouldn't have been able to fix that without
paying some astronomical fee probably, right. So I am just
(23:51):
so grateful I had on my phone because now it's protected.
I gotta take it off and get a new one.
But thank God for Zag. Thank God, whoever invented this,
thank god. So I would highly recommend getting one for
any of your iPhones. They have a few different models
out there for it. Go to zag dot com and
check out what they have. And protect your investment because
these phones are investments. They cost a lot of money,
(24:13):
and in this day and age, yeah, we don't want
to be spending more money or buying new things. Protect it.
Speaker 2 (24:19):
Speaking of not buying anything and not spending money, I
am doing a no spend twenty twenty five challenge.
Speaker 3 (24:26):
Oh Jesus, this is gonna be hard for you, huh.
Speaker 1 (24:30):
It is.
Speaker 2 (24:31):
It's very, oh god, very hard. But I'm doing pretty
well with it. I told myself I would go out
to eat once a month unless there's like a party,
like a dinner party that we have to go to
or something. And no like going to TJ Max and
Marshals and.
Speaker 3 (24:50):
Her favorite places.
Speaker 2 (24:52):
Yes, no shopping, no shopping at Kohl's. And I'm doing really,
really well. But so this is where it's actually kind
of funny. All these packages showed up like last week,
and my mom's like, thought, no shopping and I said,
I bought that beforehand, you know, before January first. She's
like yeah, right, yeah, right. She's like, you're lying, You're lying.
(25:14):
So I pulled up each receipt and she's like, I
take that back. She's like, but it's still stuff you
didn't need. I said. It may not be stuff that
I need. I said, but it's Christmas stuff for next
year and it's on sale, so yes, I did need it,
and I bought it.
Speaker 3 (25:33):
This girl with her Christmas decorations, you have no idea.
Shauna has so many. She could probably decorate a mansion
with the amount of Christmas decoration she has. And every
year she's like, I need to add more, I need
to add more.
Speaker 2 (25:46):
My mom actually said to me, she's like next before
next year comes, she's you know, and I buy more stuff.
She said, why don't we go through the twelve boxes
that you have, yes, in the garage, because this year
I just wasn't in the mood to like decorate or
really do anything, so I didn't pull everything out. But
(26:07):
I am going to pull everything out and you know what,
I'm gonna keep what I want, donate what I don't want,
and then go from there.
Speaker 1 (26:16):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (26:16):
But yeah, when she said I have twelve boxes in
the garage, I'm like, no, I don't.
Speaker 3 (26:22):
Every year. I want you buy so many more Christmas decorations.
In my head, I'm like Jesus, I haven't bought new
Christmas decorations since twenty fifteen. Maybe added the candle and
I did. I did buy garland two years ago, but
nothing more than that. It's crazy. Well, no, I lied.
I lied the new house. I did buy red ornaments
(26:44):
to go my tree because in the old house they
were just white. So I did add red ornaments to it.
Speaker 2 (26:49):
But I really like those red candy canes that you
have on the tree.
Speaker 3 (26:53):
Yeah, yeah, it's like burr lap red and burr lap.
Speaker 2 (26:56):
Yeah, they're cute, They're pretty. You're listening to and A
La La in on the phone today. We have Suzanne
Geeseman and she is the author of The Awakened Way,
which is a great book. I have not read it yet,
but I have heard so much about it and I'm
really looking forward to actually reading it. It's a book
(27:20):
about how to. It's a guide basically to living a
consciously connected and divinely guided life, which I think we
all need, yes, especially like in this day and age.
So what made you want to write the book and
can you tell us a little bit about the book
for our listeners.
Speaker 1 (27:42):
Sure, I spent the first half of my life as
a Navy officer, and I had no real coping tools
other than what I learned in the Navy to basically
suck it up. That's literally what we said when things
went wrong. And then we had a family tragedy, the
death of my step daughter, and that started me looking
for deeper answers. And I discovered that we're all souls
(28:06):
right here right now. Now that's a spiritual term, but
we could call it consciousness and use scientific terms, whichever
you use. Ultimately, this book explains that we can tap
into inner resources that are connected to one connected field
where wisdom and guidance is available to all of us.
(28:32):
And there are practical tools that we can use to
find peace at any time when we shift beyond our
stories the drama.
Speaker 2 (28:42):
So you're talking about like the stress in life.
Speaker 1 (28:45):
Oh goodness, Yes, ongoing stress and even any little thing
that pops up or big tragedies, it doesn't matter, the
tools would be the same.
Speaker 2 (28:56):
Yeah, So what are some of those tools, Because I
need as many tools as I can get. I am
very stressed lately, you know, and for different reasons. But
I think the whole world is stressed lately.
Speaker 1 (29:14):
Right Well, the book dives into the fact that why
I say that we are souls now and what a
difference that makes when we think that our entire life
is just the story of me from birth to death,
and we really suffer because there's no way out of
this right now. But we can go within into this
(29:37):
silence and discover that we can shift our viewpoint to
be an observer of our story. And if we can
do that, then what does that mean about consciousness and
who we really are? So there's one very easy tool
to begin with is what we call vegus nerve breathing,
where you just slow down for a moment, pause wherever
(29:59):
you don't necessarily do this while driving, and take in
a very slow breath, perhaps to the count of four,
and then exhale to the count of six. Those extra
two seconds as you exhale put pressure on the vegus nerve,
the longest nerve in the body from the brainstin through
the torso, and that actually triggers the body's relaxation response.
(30:25):
If you notice how stressed you are before you take
one of these vegus nerve breaths, and notice how you
feel afterwards. There's a huge shift. It actually slows down
your brain waves from normal waking consciousness, which is known
as the beta brainwave state, to an alpha brainwave state,
which is much more relaxed and what is most common
(30:48):
during meditation. So I found that if I'm headed for
the refrigerator for a cookie or something that I really
don't need, if I stop and take one of those
breathe in four, breathe out six very slowly, suddenly craving
is gone because I was really only trying to sedate
the stress.
Speaker 3 (31:09):
That makes sense, Yeah, I just tried to.
Speaker 1 (31:14):
How do you feel?
Speaker 2 (31:15):
How do I feel? Okay?
Speaker 1 (31:19):
All right?
Speaker 4 (31:20):
Maybe I breathed out too long, has some medical issues
where her lung probably may Yeah, that might work.
Speaker 2 (31:32):
I feel more relied.
Speaker 1 (31:33):
Very good. You almost invariably will. But then another simple
one that's more mental and emotional than physical, like that
one was. Is this very simple phrase that will take
you from stuck in the drama to the bird's eye
perspective and neutrality. And that's no matter what is going
wrong in that moment, say isn't that interesting? And saying
(32:00):
that way, you've suddenly taken all judgment out of whatever
you're involved in, and in that pause and that space
that you've created by just observing with no judgment, isn't
that interesting? Now you can actually ask within what's a
better way to respond to this? Maybe there's a different
(32:22):
way to see this situation. I need some help here,
and we can get into what you're asking who you're
asking that isn't that interesting? Works for little things and
huge things across the board.
Speaker 2 (32:34):
Yeah, it's almost kind of like, isn't this interesting? Why
is this happening to me? And then it kind of
like makes you think like, Okay, why is God putting
this situation in my hands?
Speaker 1 (32:48):
And this is where being aware of our thoughts and
our words becomes an actual tool we can use because
as you notice, why is this happening to me? Now
you're back in the story right away. But what if
you were to change that praise to what opportunity is
here for me? Because this is happening? As the why
(33:10):
may not give satisfactory answers, why is always going to
end up that there's something to benefit from this? Ultimately,
you may come out stronger, you may get insights, you
may be able to help other people as a result
of what you're going through. So instead of why is
this happening to me? Which brings you into your story,
you open it up to what's the opportunity in this
(33:30):
for me? Isn't that interesting?
Speaker 2 (33:35):
Interesting? So one of your daily practices is bounce back ability.
Can you explain what that is and how can we
navigate an increasingly chaotic world and bounce back from that?
Speaker 1 (33:50):
Well? The term you won't find it in the book.
It's the one that a friend of mine came up with,
But I love it because it's all about resilience. When
you start asking questions such as, if I am able
to observe my story, my drama and not get caught
up in it, then what part of me is doing that?
What if this is a part of me that is
(34:11):
beyond the story? And we can call that the soul,
a field of energy and information that's tapped into a
larger field of energy and information. When you start doing
this self inquiry, you find an inner strength. You find
courage that is not accessible when you're in a restricted
(34:31):
state of why is this happening? And I can't stand this?
Just a few of those nice vagus nerve breaths and
then asking a question at the same time as you think,
what if I can get an answer beyond my normal
wait and consciousness that's helpful. Then you listen. You may
(34:55):
be absolutely amazed at the insights that flow.
Speaker 2 (35:00):
It's just I think it's hard to reach that point
for me personally.
Speaker 1 (35:06):
So that's where I would recommend a practice. It's also
in the book called the Sip of the Divine, where
SIP stands for sit in peace. Three minutes a day.
That's all you know. So many people will tell you
meditation is good for lowering stress. Absolutely, but I also
know that we're very busy these days. We're drawn in
(35:26):
so many directions. But what if you had a dedicated,
committed practice to three minutes a day sitting quietly, starting
with one of those vagus nerve breaths, and simply asking
what do I need to know right now to navigate
this moment or this day, and then listen. Pretty soon
(35:50):
you're going to start to notice how your own, this normal,
busy monkey mind just keeps bubbling up, and you set
the goal of noticing those thoughts, noticing if they're helpful
or not, and letting them go. In other words, you
become like the blue sky and All of these thoughts
(36:12):
that are keeping you stuck in the drama, keeping you
stuck in your story, are just clouds that float by.
In these three minutes a day. You notice every cloud,
and if it's not helpful, this is a practice in
letting it go. But because you ask the question what
do I need to know now, Suddenly amongst all those
(36:35):
gray clouds, some thought or sensation or image is going
to pop up, and you're going to then say, wait
a minute, that's not my normal thought. That's a little helpful.
I never would have thought of that. Where did that
come from? So then you can stay in more than
three minutes if you'd like. But this is actually a
practice of training an expanded states of consciousness, carries out,
(37:01):
carries over throughout the day. And if you're committed to
doing this three minutes a day, within three weeks, I
promise you you'll notice yourself being more calm. You'll notice
yourself noticing the unhelpful thoughts as they arise and saying, hey,
I'm just going to let that go, And you'll be
(37:23):
in the habit of asking for guidance from higher consciousness
rather than succumbing to the normal patterns. It's very powerful
three minutes a day.
Speaker 2 (37:32):
Yeah, it sounds very powerful. So can you tell us
a little bit about the twenty first century spirituality?
Speaker 1 (37:39):
Sure, that's the term that I coined for people who
they know they're on a spiritual path, but they think
there must be something more, and there is. There's science
to back up the fact that we are connected to
a much larger field consciousness. You could call it the
zero point field. Spiritual people might call it the acrostic records.
(38:00):
Some might call it God. There is an infinitely intelligent
source of information and guide that's available to all of us,
but it's beyond our human reality. It's beyond space and time.
Science has now proven that very quick that I can
tell you that. In twenty twenty two, the Nobel Prize
(38:21):
in Physics was awarded to scientists who did experiments in
the late nineteen hundreds of nineteen seventy years. So it's
that long for science to realize. Wait a minute. These
guys proved that if you take two subatomic particles that
were entangled, and you separate them by hundreds of miles
(38:41):
and you modify one of them, the other one instantly changes,
showing that at a sub atomic level, beyond, beneath the
physical world of matter, which we think is the only world,
there is a reality where time and distance don't matter.
Everything is connected. So when we acknowledge that science says
(39:06):
we are all connected beyond space and time, how does
that help us in our lives now spiritually? Instead of
going to the objective world of matter where all our
problems are, we pause for those three minutes and we say, Okay,
what if I can tap into this field of information
and energy and guidance beyond this world. What if I
(39:27):
get answers that I never could have thought of. Well,
then I don't have to just suffer. I don't have
to suck it up. I can get calm, I can
ask questions. And then when those questions come you say,
wait a minute, where did that come from? Is there
actually a sentient being? Or could there be guides that
are helping me here? And then you've really taken the
lid off of the box, to step outside that box
(39:51):
of normal human thinking. It is absolutely wondrous the connections
you can make.
Speaker 2 (39:57):
I definitely believe that there are are higher ups that
watch over.
Speaker 1 (40:03):
You and guide you, no doubt, no doubt. Yes, I
can tell you that there's some stories in that book
that would that will really cause you to start rethinking
who we are and what kind of guidance is available.
And my former job as a Navy commander and my
last assignment, I was the aide to the Chairman of
the Joint Chiefs of Staff. And I can tell you
(40:25):
that if I shared any of those stories then they
probably would have taken away my security clearance because they
sound outlandish and outrageous. But these are what I call
adventures and consciousness that are available to all of us.
So what's fun is to when you get some guidance,
like you might say, go into the silence and say,
(40:48):
what's the root cause of my physical challenges right now?
I don't know. Very helpful to follow your questions with
I don't know, because it clears your mind. And then
listen still notice your normal answers come up. You let
them float by, and then you might get some insights.
What's really interesting is when you can say, who is
(41:09):
this talking to me? Now? Who is giving me this?
You might get an answer, and then I like to
ask for signs or evidence, say if I can trust
that this is actual guidance from beyond my story or
if I can trust that you are who you say
you are, what sign are you going to give me?
(41:31):
And I could tell you that the signs come in
such a way that many people end up gasping because
the signs are so in your face.
Speaker 2 (41:38):
I believe that, I absolutely believe that. So where can
our listeners get your book The Awakened Way.
Speaker 1 (41:45):
Oh, any of the online booksellers, Amazon, Gardens and Noble,
any bookstore would be able to order it. But it's
available all over the internet, and it's on audible.
Speaker 2 (41:55):
Great.
Speaker 1 (41:56):
It's gotten a lot of very good reviews because it's
it's very practical. Another name for it might be the
Human Being Handbook, And you might think, oh, I know
how to be human? And yeah, then I say, have
that working for you?
Speaker 2 (42:11):
I think you know, everyone could benefit from your book
and become a better human being.
Speaker 1 (42:18):
I think, well, it's more about realizing that we are yes,
we are human, and we are also souls at the
same time. And when we learned that, we can shift
back and forth between soul awareness, which has the bigger picture,
and our human awareness, which, because of the filter of
the brain, is rather restricted to all of the information
(42:40):
and guidance that's available to us, we find ourselves much
more empowered, and we realize we're never alone. We realize
we're actually already loved without having to look out into
the outer world to get love. And I would love
to share with you a really cool thing that I
heard from my guides recently that's actually kind of funny,
(43:01):
but it's very helpful that one of our major challenges
is that most people don't think to go within and
ask for guidance. This when I say inner guidance, it's
not just coming from yourself with a little S. It's
coming from the oneself that we all share with a
capital S. The problem is we feel we're separate from that,
(43:24):
and that we're separate from each other. That's the number
one challenge at the root of all of our challenges,
the idea, based on physical appearances and our physical senses,
that we're separate from each other and from our source,
from God, from consciousness, from spirit, whatever you want to
call it. So we've learned to turn to outside sources
(43:45):
for guidance and help. So what do we do when
we need information? Right now? Most people would go, hey, Siri,
but what if we added in two little letters that
are missing in hey Siri, And instead every time we
want to go hey Siri, we pause and we say, hey, spirit. Wow,
(44:08):
now you've just said you've opened a door of possibilities
that you might be able to tap into something that's
even wiser and it'll change your life.
Speaker 2 (44:23):
Interesting. Well, I'm going to have to try that.
Speaker 1 (44:26):
Yeah, it's the listening part. And if you do that
sip of the Divine, there's the video about it on
my YouTube channel. Just type in zip of the Divine
and it'll come up how to do it if you
really spend those three minutes a day, and like I said,
three weeks will really cause a transformation. Of doing it daily,
you really will notice how the mind works and how
(44:50):
patterned it is. And once you start asking a question
of higher consciousness and getting new, fresh, creative, helpful healing answers,
this is a whole new resource which we'll provide that
bounce back cability that we were talking about earlier. You
just have to just to start.
Speaker 2 (45:12):
Yeah, you just have to like open up your brain
and let let the spirits in.
Speaker 1 (45:19):
Well, here's another key there. The brain is an instrument.
It's like your cell phone. It receives and transmits energy information.
But It also filters out what's really here, what's more
present than we believe, such as right now, we'd all
agree that there are cell phone signals, TV signals, radio
signals all around us, but we can't detect them because
(45:42):
our brain isn't tuned to those frequencies. So we actually
want to bypass the brain. Get out of the brain.
You can literally drop your awareness out of the head
and move it into the center of the chest. So
get out of the head and into the heart and
literally move down there as if your consciousness resides in
(46:05):
the heart region. It's kind of hard to do while
you're just listening to a podcast or radio show. But
if after this call, you stop and move your awareness
down behind the heart area but don't see that area
as a place or a thing, become that feeling, sensing,
(46:26):
knowing center of being. Do it repeatedly till you actually
start to see and feel from that state at the
same time, you hear and feel from that expanded state
at the same time, and now you'll be tapping into
the field with a capital F instead of thinking and
(46:47):
going back to old patterns. That's a game changer.
Speaker 2 (46:51):
Well, I'm going to definitely try that. Thank you so much,
Susanne for calling in today, and what is your website
so everyone could check you.
Speaker 1 (47:00):
Well, it's my name, Suzanne Geeseman dot com s U

tone and give you something to contemplate each day to
get you out of the drama that might be holding
you prisoner.
Speaker 2 (47:31):
I'm gonna have to download that. Thank you so much,
