Speaker 1 (00:01):
This is six in the Morning with Brett Caine on demand.
Check out Brett weekday mornings at six on Altitude Sports
Radio ninety two five and on the Altitude Sports Radio app.
Speaker 2 (00:18):
Schmaltz near side at the deep slot, Oh circuit chev
one time.
Speaker 3 (00:22):
Bought off by what well with a blocker, he's.
Speaker 4 (00:26):
Out of his mind.
Speaker 2 (00:27):
Wedgewood got in front off of skate and it is
able to hit a Utah forward and go wide. Now,
Schmaltz again at the deep slot circuit, Chef another one
time or wide of Wedgwood. Does it go out of
the tone?
Speaker 3 (00:38):
It does all the way down ice.
Speaker 2 (00:40):
Utah does the avalanche of favor four seconds, three seconds,
two seconds, one second, sound the hard.
Speaker 4 (00:52):
There's no place like home.
Speaker 3 (00:55):
Colorado beats their Rocky Mountain rivals and they're a home
opener by a finals up two to one.
Speaker 5 (01:03):
It's about like football Friday, and a whole bunch of
football to get to in a little bit. I want
to start with the Avs, where I don't think it
was a great game last night. A lot of turnovers
near the blue line that had opportunities for Utah to
(01:23):
capitalize on. But having Scott Wedgwood is the ultimate luxury.
A backup goalie that is capable of making stops like
that is really rare, and it's the fortunate spot that
the S find.
Speaker 6 (01:39):
Find themselves in when when you have.
Speaker 5 (01:49):
The opportunity in a game like that to try and
put them away. I would like to see you take
advantage a little bit more. Again, it's another game in
which the Avs get four power play opportunities, they finish
with one. It's like, okay, you know, it just feels
like it's still a little bit behind a tick. McKinnon
(02:12):
burying his was big time got you the win.
Speaker 6 (02:19):
All I'm saying is when you have.
Speaker 5 (02:26):
The talent that the Avs do, and again you're just
a couple of games into the season, not everything's going
to be perfect. Power play is going to be the
ultimate focus because power play is your opportunity to throw
McKinnon and mccarr and Rock Nelson and a whole bunch
(02:47):
of these really, really good, unbelievably good players on the ice.
At the same time, I just want to see it
better because of how last season fin and it feels
like that was a big.
Speaker 6 (03:01):
Part of it.
Speaker 5 (03:02):
So the first couple not great, looks like they're still
trying to work their way through it right now.
Speaker 6 (03:11):
But the end of the day, you get enough, which
was two.
Speaker 5 (03:15):
And this is why the ultimate luxury on the team
is having a backup goalie like Scott Wedgwood has taken over.
Like the impact of Mackenzie Blackwood not being there is
just it's not as killing as you thought it would be.
(03:38):
And it's the same feeling you had back in twenty
twenty two, isn't it when the Frankie being back up,
the Darcy situation was going on, and no matter who
was in the game, you felt like you had a
pretty good opportunity to win it. That's how I kind
(04:01):
of get this the same sort of vibe between Mackenzie
Blackwood and Scott Wedgwood. I mean the amount of really
big saves, the breakaway opportunity where it was just him
out on an island, he makes the save, gets the
save off the rebound.
Speaker 6 (04:14):
After that, he's if you.
Speaker 5 (04:20):
Watch that game, you can't tell me he doesn't look
like he's starting caliber or goalie. He makes thirty two
saves last night, and all of those are under immense.
Speaker 6 (04:30):
Pressure because.
Speaker 5 (04:36):
The Avs weren't exactly throwing in you know, five or
six goals. I just think having a guy like Wedgwood
is such an an unbelievably fortunate thing.
Speaker 6 (04:52):
We're to think about this.
Speaker 5 (04:54):
Last year, you were just trying to find somebody that
you trusted between the pipes, like as a starter. And
it's been like that for a couple of years now,
a huge narrative every single years we head into the
season or into the postseason, like how often did we
(05:14):
talk about goaltending and is Georgiev good enough and should
just be playing more? Or like they need to make
a move consistently. And now you have a situation where
you can find yourself throwing Scott Wedgwood in the game,
who's your number two? And you're like, yeah, cool, seems
good to me. Texas says goalie saved us as. Power
(05:41):
play must get better.
Speaker 6 (05:42):
I think we all agree on that.
Speaker 5 (05:46):
Another texta says they need to push Nelson to the
second power play unit and vow to the first. I
was wondering something like that. I it felt like val
would be better up there.
Speaker 6 (06:03):
Now.
Speaker 5 (06:03):
I don't know if they want to pull the trigger
on making a move like that. Through two games, you know,
we do pretty good at the panic the panicking part.
Speaker 6 (06:15):
You want to see changes happen immediately.
Speaker 5 (06:18):
They have the luxury and being two and oh doesn't
not a bad byproduct. They can be patient with this
and see if it's going to get better. But yeah,
I would be right there with everybody else if you
ask me, like, are you concerned about anything?
Speaker 6 (06:34):
I don't know if concerned is the right word.
Speaker 5 (06:39):
I certainly hope that the power play gets better because
there are just too many moments where you can't even
get really set up and get like really really good opportunities.
You know, when you were in the second period, it
took until.
Speaker 6 (06:56):
God Win was it? I thought I wrote this down
on was it.
Speaker 5 (07:02):
Five thirty left in the period when you got your
first shot on goal? Because they said something I remember
at the the like midway point of the second they
said something like it was they haven't had a shot
on goal since three thirty left in the first.
Speaker 6 (07:22):
Yeah, exactly.
Speaker 5 (07:27):
There were a few moments like I think brock Well
brock on one of the power plays just missed the post.
Same thing with ross Colton who oh, by the way,
the first goal that was scored, Olofsen getting saucy over
to Drury who throws it right back to Ross Colton
one time or bangs it top top shelf.
Speaker 1 (07:49):
That.
Speaker 5 (07:51):
I mean, if there's anything that is a super super
super positive from yesterday, if that line is capable of
doing that, then the depth is so immense on this
team that you're going to overwhelm a couple more.
Speaker 6 (08:10):
Top shout far side.
Speaker 5 (08:14):
The way that olive Jin sauced it over and could
Drury just try and throw a shot on yes, but
instead feels the defenseman sucking towards his direction, tosses it
back to Colton, who at that point Goalie's gonna post
a post.
Speaker 6 (08:30):
Got to push back too late, can't do it perfect shot.
Speaker 7 (08:33):
By the way, did you have a chance to tune
into our Altitude broadcast with Connor and Condor on the call?
Speaker 6 (08:39):
I did not.
Speaker 5 (08:40):
I get multiple text from people saying that EJ was
awesome at that though.
Speaker 7 (08:43):
So big brain Steve over here. I had Thursday Night
Football on the TV, and then I had Amazon Alexa
pumping the boy Avs broadcast, so I could hear Connor
and and EJ.
Speaker 4 (08:54):
But no, he was amazing.
Speaker 7 (08:55):
And what made me think of it is when you
when you were talking about Sauce in the past EJ
has all that hot lingo down. He sounds like the
hockey Bros from Letter Kenny if you've ever watched that show.
So someone does something and he'd go, oh, yeah, Connor,
he sauces the pass up the neutral zone, little saucer
and then cheese is it top shelf?
Speaker 4 (09:12):
Far side?
Speaker 8 (09:13):
Like right.
Speaker 7 (09:13):
I love hearing him actually use the lingo. Oh, it's great.
He was fantastic on the call.
Speaker 5 (09:19):
I gotten multiple textion of people saying he was really,
really good. And e Ja's the kind of guy where,
of course he is, you knew he was going to be.
Speaker 6 (09:28):
If you guys have heard EJ talk to.
Speaker 5 (09:30):
Anybody, you're like, oh, yeah, you could do this for
a while, couldn't you, Like you have a total TV
media whatever future whenever his career is done, and fortunate
enough for him, he had an amazingly long and.
Speaker 6 (09:47):
Successful career that.
Speaker 5 (09:49):
Also gets a championship out of it, and now he
gets to do this part where you stay in the
game without your body breaking down.
Speaker 6 (09:55):
Pretty cool.
Speaker 7 (09:56):
And then also I like the fact that sometimes when
you get former players who are on the broadcast, they
played for that team maybe ten or fifteen or twenty
years ago.
Speaker 4 (10:05):
Yep, he played for them last week.
Speaker 3 (10:07):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (10:07):
So there was one moment I think it was late
in the game when Utah was making their final push,
a couple of minutes left on the clock, and they
took their time out, and so both teams are there
in the huddle and Betsy has his whiteboard and he
was drawn something up and Eric Johnson said, oh, he's
going over the six on five play scenarios right now
because Utah is going to pull their goalie. Yeah, so
he's telling you exactly what they're gonna do. And he
(10:28):
knew he actually knew what Bennar was saying in.
Speaker 5 (10:31):
That huddle, Yeah, because he's been in that huddle hundreds
of times exactly.
Speaker 4 (10:34):
Insight was amazing. Yeah.
Speaker 6 (10:36):
So it's not.
Speaker 5 (10:38):
Every game that he's going to be doing with Connor,
but he'll do a few this year and we'll let
you know each one of those as they come along.
Speaker 6 (10:44):
It is a bud Light Football Friday.
Speaker 4 (10:46):
I do.
Speaker 6 (10:49):
Well. I mean we can start it now and continue
this after the break.
Speaker 5 (10:57):
Does the Eagles lost last night make a little sting,
little juice out of your wind last week that Jackson
Dart and the Giants didn't they didn't just win. They
kicked the snot out of them, and I think you'd
be kidding yourself if you said no. I mean, the
(11:20):
wind still matters, and it was still a big quote
signature moment on you go out beat a good team
in their house with a whole bunch of things stacked
against you. I think all of that is It's still important,
(11:40):
but it does make you question some things. And I'll
tell you this, the Broncos, I think can take a
little bit of credit for what happened last night.
Speaker 6 (12:04):
I think they can.
Speaker 5 (12:06):
You know, there's a there's an old saying if you
if you play really physical football, and there's been a
few teams that have been able to claim this over
the last few years. If you play a physical brand
of football and you beat teams up the following week,
(12:28):
they can have what's called a hangover. And there's been
a few teams that have been able to accomplish this.
A couple of years ago, there was this crazy stat
with Detroit that after you played Detroit teams their following week,
their opponent that they had played the following week, they
were like three and thirteen over the course of the
(12:49):
year something like that, Like they would constantly lose, and
I think the Broncos have a little bit of that
quality to them, But I think you also caught them
at the right place, right time. I'm talking about the
insane nature of who the Eagles are and part of
(13:09):
the reason why I've never trusted them, despite them being
a Super Bowl champion last year.
Speaker 6 (13:16):
I don't trust them.
Speaker 5 (13:17):
Because every second of their existence feels like their one
argument away from that thing blowing up. The last time
they had a little bit of adversity like this was
(13:38):
when they started the year eleven and one. A couple
of years ago. They lost six straight and their season
was over and they thought they were gonna fire Siriani like,
and it happened that fast. It's like one thing went
wrong and that team just imploded on itself.
Speaker 4 (13:55):
Brett, we're doing We're doing.
Speaker 7 (13:56):
Maso Manos at eight twenty right, Yeah, can I throw
you a a celeb shot Masamanos? Okay, Maso Manos two
and a half years. That scatter bow lasts in the
league because he only tackles with his head and his neck.
Speaker 6 (14:09):
Yeah, he's crazy.
Speaker 7 (14:11):
That dude's gonna be out of the NFL like that
because his brain's gonna be mashed potatoes. Enjoy it while
he's there.
Speaker 5 (14:16):
Man, my goodness, I don't know how good Skativo is.
Certainly New York loves him, and I understand why.
Speaker 6 (14:27):
But he has like.
Speaker 5 (14:31):
He has a game like that, and then he'll have
another game in which he really doesn't get anything really going.
I love watching him play. Though he's fearless. He'll do
whatever you need him to do. No, there was a
moment last night which Dark gets hit, looks like, I
don't know what the injury was. I guess they were
(14:53):
talking about a concussion. They're evaluating him for a concussion.
And then Russell Wilson steps in the game. I am like, Russell,
if you blow the this, don't.
Speaker 6 (15:01):
You dare.
Speaker 3 (15:04):
Bye? You see?
Speaker 5 (15:05):
And I think he got like two snaps or three
snaps or something. Then he went back off the field
and Jackson Dark came back in. I was like, thank god,
Jackson Dart also fun to watch, dude.
Speaker 4 (15:14):
Russ.
Speaker 7 (15:15):
Russ threw two passes and day Ball was going over
to the medical staff.
Speaker 4 (15:19):
He was going, you give me my portal. I know,
I don't care if he can't remember his zip code.
You give me. You do what you gotta do you
stick with that horse needle?
Speaker 6 (15:26):
When livid when he.
Speaker 5 (15:28):
Said he was gonna go back in the game, the
smile on Daviel's face and patting him on the head.
He patted him on the head. He's like, oh, thank God,
all right, get back in there, buddy.
Speaker 7 (15:36):
He was gonna send him out there. Even if he
was like Scott Sterling, if if Jackson Dart had to
make passes with his face lying on the ground, he was,
he was not gonna roll with Russ.
Speaker 5 (15:45):
So there's more I want to get to with this
in just a second. Three zero three five four nine
two five. This is a bud Light Football Friday. Back
after this, it's a butt Light Football Friday. But Light
the official beer sponsor of the Denver Broncos. Remember to
enjoy responsibly. So last night the Eagles lose to the Giants.
Speaker 6 (16:05):
The Eagles.
Speaker 5 (16:08):
Have a problem, and I think this team is fascinating.
They won what was it the number of what I
say was twenty of their last twenty one games before
the Denver game last week, twenty of twenty one.
Speaker 7 (16:22):
And I think most they were undefeated at home in
that stretch.
Speaker 5 (16:26):
Uh.
Speaker 7 (16:27):
Yes, the Eagles had won what something like eighteen consecutive
home games or something stupid.
Speaker 6 (16:31):
Too, something like that.
Speaker 5 (16:33):
Their last home loss before the Broncos was Atlanta the
second week of the season last year. So whatever that is,
you want to add in playoff games too, So that
is they played two home games already two four, six, seven, Okay,
(16:56):
so at seven in a row, eight nine, ten before
the end of last year, and then.
Speaker 6 (17:04):
Eleven twelve, whatever the number is.
Speaker 5 (17:07):
They just haven't lost in a long time, and they
decided they decided they were going to do.
Speaker 6 (17:12):
A really really interesting thing, which.
Speaker 5 (17:17):
Was change their entire offense. Why because aj Brown wanted to.
They lose because they don't run Saquon Barkley. Last night,
(17:39):
Jalen Hurts throws the ball thirty three times, they run
it with Saquon Barkley twelve. I don't know what they're doing.
Speaker 4 (17:52):
Now.
Speaker 5 (17:53):
I'm here to laugh at it, but here's what I'm
getting at the way that that team has to feel
right now. It's such a bizarre thing for a team
that's good, for a team that's good to all of
(18:15):
a sudden turn into this sort of basket case. Imagine this, Nelly,
imagine winning twenty of your last twenty one games. You
lose once and you and two other teammates need to
have a two hour meeting to hash out your differences.
(18:37):
Do you think when the Chiefs win a Super Bowl
in the next year they lose a football game, Mahomes
and Kelsey and Chris Jones need to sit down and
have a chat with one another for two hours.
Speaker 6 (18:51):
That's what's weird about this team.
Speaker 5 (18:52):
What's always been weird about them is that they feel
like they're on the brink of collapsing at any moment
the entire time, and they just who is homeboy? Who
did the the the Man on a Wire documentary?
Speaker 6 (19:07):
What was that guy's name?
Speaker 5 (19:12):
They just tight roped in between two skyscrapers for an
entire season last year and won championship.
Speaker 7 (19:17):
Philippe Petit, Yes, it Pettit, Philip Pettit, crazy man I
believe is his.
Speaker 5 (19:23):
Actual Yes, exactly right. There's another documentary with Oh, what's
the guy's name? He did the movie Free Solo Alex Hanold.
Speaker 6 (19:31):
I think his name is.
Speaker 4 (19:32):
Oh, dude.
Speaker 7 (19:33):
When that when that documentary comes on, I can't even
watch it.
Speaker 6 (19:36):
Well, he's doing another one.
Speaker 4 (19:37):
It's terrifying.
Speaker 5 (19:38):
He's climbing some some skyscraper. He's doing another free solo
is what they call it, right, So there's no safety
harness for what he's scaling. So in that movie free
solo he did el cap. I watched that movie in theaters.
They didn't overhead drone camera of him climbing up that thing.
My legs got weak sitting in a theater chair. But
(20:02):
he's got something else that he's going to do that
is risking his life.
Speaker 6 (20:05):
Oh, here you go.
Speaker 5 (20:07):
Netflix has announced Skyscraper Live, a two hour event debuting
early twenty twenty six. In the live special, Alex Honold
will attempt the free solo the aptletely name Type one
oh one, a one hundred and one story skyscraper in Taiwan.
It is sixteen hundred and sixty seven feet tall. He's
gonna do that, no harness, might fall to his death
(20:27):
on Netflix Live.
Speaker 7 (20:29):
Who knows no? All right, powerwink. Netflix Live shots that
guy falling to his death. Mike Tyson's complete ass.
Speaker 5 (20:38):
Yeah, oh Mike Tyson's butt for sure. Yeah, nothing's gonna
top that. All I'm saying is that's what the Eagles are.
They're this guy like, hey, watch me scale this skyscraper
without a harness for two hours straight and you're like, dude,
that feels like something bad could go wrong, and like, oh, yeah,
it could. But then at the end they reached the
(21:00):
up with the skyscraper last year and they decided this year,
let's do that again. And right now, Nelly, they're at
the point to where like a foot slipped and they're
hanging on by one hand and you're like, are you
still gonna be able to keep a tight grip there
and get yourself re established?
Speaker 4 (21:16):
Right?
Speaker 7 (21:16):
It's like in an action movie when someone's hanging on
the edge of a cliff and then the rock under
their hand breaks out and they fall down two feet and
then catch a pinky on a slice of rock. No,
it's it's ridiculous.
Speaker 5 (21:27):
How the Eagles feel always though. They always have this feeling.
And so I asked that in the Broncos context of this. Sorry,
it took me a while to get there. First of all,
I wonder if that changes anything that you feel about
the Broncos win last week.
Speaker 6 (21:40):
That was a long asked question, which.
Speaker 5 (21:44):
To me like kind of but not really, because I
just don't think Philadelphia is very good, which is weird
to say for a team that wins all the time.
I know, but I did the same thing with the
Chief last year. But secondly, there is.
Speaker 6 (22:07):
Like one concern that I do have.
Speaker 5 (22:11):
Heading into the game against the Jets, like if there's
anything to be concerned about when you're playing an zero
to five team that looks like they have no traction.
There's one area that I think is it could be
interesting in this game. But it kind of stems from
what Philly didn't do, because now for two straight weeks
(22:34):
they haven't ran the football and they've said, Jalen Hurts,
go throw the ball around and win as a football game,
and it's like, well, that's not what you do well.
To the opposite tune, the Broncos have they figured out
what they do well and for the last two weeks
they've stuck to it. I hope they continue to. But
(22:57):
the points this because there they It feels Philadelphia has
tried to force Jalen Hurts in their offense into being
more of a passing offense.
Speaker 6 (23:13):
You didn't get the true test last week.
Speaker 5 (23:17):
Of can you stop the running game consistently against a
good back one? And number two, can you stop the
scrambling QB? Now the Broncos have had a couple of
tests this year, but I think linebackers have been sort
(23:41):
of your weak point at least on defense throughout the
course of the season. And you weren't tested against the Titans.
You were tested against the Colts with Jonathan Taylor, and
Jonathan Taylor went crazy. He had one hundred and sixty
five yards on the ground, you know, to that same tune.
They finished the game at six point six yards per carry.
(24:08):
The Chargers had Nasei Hairs blow his achilles in the
middle of that game, and Omari and Hampton was in
his third game as a pro, still able to rack
up seventy yards. You play the Bengals, who don't have
a running game, and then I was like, all right,
let's get a test Hearry with Saquan, Let's see how
real the Jonathan Taylor concerns that I had will be.
Speaker 6 (24:29):
And then they just didn't try.
Speaker 5 (24:33):
The Jets can run the football, guys, For as much
as we like, this is the weird thing. And I
know the zero to five record is what stands out
most and what should happen here is your offense should
take over and dominate. Jets defense is bad. Haven't turned
the ball or haven't gotten a takeaway once this year.
But when it comes to the Jets offense, they run
(24:58):
the ball third best in the league. They average one
hundred and forty four and a half yards per game
on the ground. The only team's better is Washington and Buffalo.
Why because they have a pretty good stable of backs.
Breese Hall's good, but also Justin Field's in open space
is an issue. I'm being dead serious about this. By
the way, Lamar Jackson is the best running quarterback that
(25:22):
we have.
Speaker 6 (25:22):
In this league. He's the best. I think Justin Fields
is right behind him, truly.
Speaker 7 (25:30):
Vance Joseph even said that yesterday in London when he
was in the media scrum. He said that he thinks
Justin Fields is a better runner than Jalen Hurts.
Speaker 5 (25:39):
Yeah, I don't think there's any doubt about it. Watch
Justin Fields in the open, in open space, and watch
how he makes guys miss.
Speaker 6 (25:47):
I think only Lamar does that.
Speaker 5 (25:49):
Maybe Jayden Daniels, but his ability to shake somebody like
he had a touchdown, I think it was was it
last week or two weeks ago? Maybe it's two weeks
ago where he just found a little bit of space
and then he's able to turn on the Jets, pardon
the pun, turn on the speed and just outrun everybody.
(26:15):
So if I do have a concern in this game,
it is your ability to stop the run, because I
don't know how good you are at that yet, not
to mention, here's the other part that might blow your mind.
Speaker 6 (26:25):
You ready for this. So the Broncos right now, their offense.
Speaker 5 (26:29):
Was not good to start, they've had they've looked better
as of late. You know, the Jets rank in points
per game, one spot behind you. I'm trying to tell
you Justin Fields has had a decent year for a
team that's gone one to five so far, just saying
(26:52):
he has. If there's anywhere to be concerned, it's not
so much your defense just allowing them to go crazy.
But I don't think they're gonna score like three points,
and maybe I'm totally wrong.
Speaker 6 (27:08):
I think they can put up a few.
Speaker 5 (27:11):
It's a matter of kenyr offense dominate their defense like
most other teams have, and that's a separation.
Speaker 6 (27:22):
So again, what.
Speaker 5 (27:24):
Is really fooling me about the Philly game is that
what Philly does really well. Where I thought they could
take advantage of the Broncos, they abandon that in a
respect for will Aj Brown's pissed, and it feels like
they did it for a second week in a row. Now,
(27:47):
if I'm Nick Siriani and I'm playing against a bad
Giants team with a rookie QB, my formula is simple.
I'm gonna run Saquan fifty times in that game because
it should be all you need.
Speaker 6 (28:02):
Thinking equals a talent takeover.
Speaker 5 (28:06):
But instead Philly does what Philly has done for the
last couple of weeks. Now they get out of the
gates hot their first think about this for a second.
The first four drives for Philly were scoring drives.
Speaker 6 (28:19):
I'm sorry, uh. Three of the first four.
Speaker 5 (28:23):
Field goal punt, touchdown, touchdown, and then the second half
started three plays four yards, four plays eight yards, three
plays eight yards, four plays fifty one yards, interception, and
then when the game was over, the Giants are playing
soft seven play sixty nine yards and they still fumble
(28:43):
the ball away. They seem to have a decent script
to start the game, and then they abandon it and
then it turns into the Jalen Hurt Show.
Speaker 7 (28:53):
For whatever reason, wasn't that great watching the Eagles run
seventeen consecutive Toush pushes there towards the end of the half.
Speaker 4 (29:03):
That was yeah, oh that was musty TV. Brother.
Speaker 6 (29:06):
Let me tell you something. At least they they do
that well and they stuck to it.
Speaker 5 (29:15):
I'm surprised I didn't say, guys, the Toush push can
get us a score, but you know really needs to score.
As a j Brown is Devonte Smith, we need to
throw it. So I still I'm not sure how good
the Broncos are stopping the run yet. And by the way,
against against elite competition.
Speaker 6 (29:33):
I should say, go ahead.
Speaker 7 (29:34):
And answer to your previous questions you asked at the
start of this segment. Does this Eagles loss diminish the
Broncos win over the Eagles at all? Troy Rank of
the Denver Post I think said it best. He put
this on the Twitter x machine earlier. He said, I
woke up to a score of the Giants clobbering the
Eagles thirty four seventeen, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera.
(29:55):
Impressive stuff. Does it diminish the Broncos win? No, because
that came on the road, but it makes the Giants
game in Denver next Sunday, a lot more intriguing.
Speaker 4 (30:06):
Yeah, that's exactly how I feel.
Speaker 5 (30:08):
And not to mention that that Giants game is You're
coming back from London, dealing with jet lag and time
zone changes and all that different stuff against a team
that's not.
Speaker 6 (30:19):
As bad as your thought. That's it. So again, Bud
Light Football Friday.
Speaker 5 (30:30):
High school football and Altitude Sports Radio continues tonight as
counter Cape and Justin Adams call the action between Dakota
Ridge and Heritage on ninety two five with a seven
pm kickoff. High school football is powered by sport Clips
proud supporters of Chassa, So we're doing that a whole
bunch of football over the weekend thing here on ninety
two to five because Altitude Sports Radio.
Speaker 6 (30:54):
Loves sports radio loves football. Thank you. What's his name again,
David Lead, Thank you David.
Speaker 5 (31:02):
So tonight seven o'clock, we got that high school football
game that's gonna be on ninety two five too night.
We have AVS tomorrow seven o'clock that's gonna be on
ninety two five. We also have Ohio State in Illinois
that's gonna be on at ten o'clock in the morning
(31:23):
on ninety two five. And then it's it's that we
got that NFL football thing all day on Sunday, so
it starts eleven o'clock in the morning. Seahawks Jags is
gonna be on ninety two five, a good test for
the Jags to see if they're they're.
Speaker 6 (31:45):
Worthy or not.
Speaker 5 (31:46):
Bengals Packers are gonna be on after that at two thirty,
and then that Sunday night game between the Lines and
the Chiefs.
Speaker 6 (31:52):
Chiefs, by the way, I want to talk about this.
Speaker 5 (31:55):
Interesting little detail that I found for their Sunday night
game at I don't know if it makes you nervous
or if it's the last sort of gasp that we
get to in just a second. Stickgram to bud Light
Football Friday and you can head to number thirty eight
in Rhino at three o'clock today for a special bud
Light Football Friday broadcast with Nate and Andy. They'll be
(32:15):
live until six and you have a chance to win
tickets to the Broncos Giants in the bud Light VIP
tailgate courtesy of bud Light, the official beer sponsor of
the Never Broncos. See you at number thirty eight starting
at three. So interesting little detail in this you know
you're you're climbing your.
Speaker 6 (32:34):
Way back up the ranks.
Speaker 5 (32:36):
You should be able to get a win over the
Jets that would put you at four and two. I
don't think leading the division after this week because even
with all of the stuff that is coursing through the
injury reports of the Chargers, I still would imagine they
(32:56):
can take care of Miami. No it is in Miami
early game, eleven o'clock, there's some funny details in it,
and the Chargers are decimated with injuries, but I still
think they can take care of them. So I think
they're still gonna be leading the AFC West after this week.
(33:16):
But your job is just to take care of what's
in front of you, and in that case, you should
be able to beat the zero to five Jets. The
question I have is how concerned should you be still
be about.
Speaker 6 (33:37):
The Chiefs? And I think should be a little bit concerned,
should be.
Speaker 5 (33:47):
There's always sort of that unless the Chiefs are dead thing,
you think they'll eventually just kind of figure out ways
to win. And they're coming off another loss and now
they play Sunday night, it's Detroit.
Speaker 6 (34:02):
I think most people.
Speaker 5 (34:06):
Would say that Detroit's a better team than Kansas City
right now, Kansas City's two and a half point favorites. Now,
maybe it's a lot of desperation of if they lose,
they're gonna be two and four and it's gonna be
a huge hill to climb for them to get back
(34:27):
in this race. Perhaps that plays a big part in it.
Maybe it's because it's at Arrowhead, Like you could think
of a million different things as to why this might
be the case.
Speaker 6 (34:39):
I still think.
Speaker 5 (34:43):
If most people had to put money down, they would
put it on Detroit to win. But I am I
always like cock an eyebrow when I see something like
that where I'd say most people, I think would choose
Detroit to win. In kansasit these not just favored, they're
favored by two and a half heading into that game.
(35:04):
It always sends up a sort of like as we
do on this show, the smell test, Does it pass
and the answer is not really?
Speaker 6 (35:17):
So there's something screwy going on there.
Speaker 5 (35:19):
Detroit has a few injuries, especially their secondary They're out
like their top three corners, so maybe they think that
Mahomes can take advantage of that. Perhaps, but this does
feel like if the Chiefs don't get this and they
start the year one and two at home.
Speaker 6 (35:36):
No, I kind of told you.
Speaker 5 (35:37):
The schedule doesn't get much easier for about the next month,
maybe one little reprieve game against the Raiders in which
they'll probably get a win against them, But then it
turns into Commanders at Buffalo at Denver, and then they
play against the Colts and then the Cowboys kind of
(36:04):
feels like they need one on Sunday, but if they lose,
it should be a race the rest of the year
between you and the Chargers, in which, if you take
care of your business, you should be aoka in an
AFC West title that hasn't happened in a decade might
actually be up for grabs for you this year. Now,
(36:26):
I've seen so many more things because I wouldn't have
been pretty much right after the Avs came ended last night.
And again we'll get back to the Avs in a
few minutes. Not a great performance, but did enough to
come away with another dub. And if nothing else, having
Scott Wedgwood is a godsend because without him you weren't
(36:48):
winning that game last night. He was fantastic. But I
keep seeing stuff come out from this Giants game. And
there was a sequence if you want to know Brian
Dable feels about Russell Wills Jackson dark takes a hit
(37:10):
because that kid, for some reason refuses to slide and
he's gonna knock that off, but he takes a hit.
He's getting evaluated for concussions. So he's in that blue
tent on the sideline. Russell Wilson steps in. It is
a ten point game at towards the end of the
third quarter, and the sequence is just hilarious.
Speaker 6 (37:36):
So Russell steps in.
Speaker 5 (37:41):
He almost takes a delay game on third and nine,
gets the snap off, and then he throws the ball
expecting one route to happen. When the receiver ran the
other route. The camera goes over to Dable and the
first thing that you see is Brian Dable chewing out
the doctor and then he goes into the blue medical
(38:03):
tent to interrupt the concussion screening test going on, basically
saying can he play or not? This was him in
the postgame about it.
Speaker 8 (38:16):
Have you ever been on an NFL sideline. There's a
lot of emotions. I know I was asked about gloves
the other day. There's a lot of emotions, and I
certainly am an emotional guy. I apologized directly to our
team physician. I just wanted his ass out there if
he was okay, but I wanted to process like we
were getting ready to go for it on potential for down.
I would have burned a time out if he could
(38:37):
have came out there. So I was asking, how long
is it gonna take? So again, you want your guy
out there, not at risk of anything else. But you
know he came out. I think he's gonna be good.
I'm like, is he gonna be good or not? I'm
gonna call a time out on fourth down and go
for the summer, you know what I mean. So I
love our doctors. Pat, I'm sure you're gonna ask me
about that, so I'll just give you the answer. I apologized.
(38:59):
I was in the wrong, but he's all right. He
gave me a hug.
Speaker 6 (39:03):
Let me ask you something. When you have a quarterback
that is a rookie.
Speaker 5 (39:08):
And Jackson Dart has been like, he's been exciting, he's
got a good personality. It hasn't been like amazing, but
you were that fired up at the prospect of if
you don't get back in there, I have to play
Russell Wilson for another play no.
Speaker 7 (39:25):
Way, Well, did you see at one point Russ did
what he did, which was make some limited passes very incomplete,
and then the sidelines cut the dable and I'm not
much of a lip reader, but I know how to
read a Crystal Clear in New York City f bomb
and he was just going, ha, Well.
Speaker 6 (39:46):
Here's my question.
Speaker 5 (39:46):
Though, they have Jamis Winston on that roster. If you
think Russell's that bad to make Jamis the backup, what
are you doing?
Speaker 6 (39:55):
But the giants are just they're weird.
Speaker 5 (39:56):
I swear to god, Jackson Dark and Cam Skataboo are
like their men. When they did the postgame show, Scataboo
gets to the desk with the Amazon Prime folks. First
thing he does is he rips off his shoulder pads
and throws him to the ground, and then he takes
his undershirt and Hulk Hogan's it, rips it down the middle.
(40:19):
And then the first thing he says is a scream, No,
I just DM this too.
Speaker 6 (40:25):
You can just play it immediately, because.
Speaker 5 (40:28):
Scataboo is kind of you know what, Actually, we'll save it.
But he's he's a pitbull, it's all he is. So
We'll get back to this in a little bit. But
as his tradition, on Fridays, we always make Nelly sing Nelly.
Speaker 6 (40:45):
Everybody in your car sing with him.
Speaker 9 (40:47):
Come on, Betsy, Betsy's bad, lay it down. No, you
want everybody Betty, Let's see Betty.
Speaker 5 (41:08):
Let's see Betty, Bretsy, Betty, Bretzy and Beddy.
Speaker 6 (41:13):
In his best.
Speaker 4 (41:15):
Don't get back though.
Speaker 9 (41:18):
Uh.
Speaker 6 (41:19):
Every week, I do no research.
Speaker 5 (41:21):
I just give you a lock in an underdog the
first thing that hits my eye, and I'll give you
my lock. My lock of the week might be unconventional,
might not make much sense. The Indianapolis Colts are really
good at blowing teams out. If they have a chance
(41:44):
to crush you, they do it. They've played two tough
teams this year. They've played the Broncos and they played
the Rams. Those are both one score games. When they
played the Dolphins, the Titans, and the Raiders, they've won
thirty three to eight, forty one, twenty to six. I
think the Cardinals are a mess right now. They're seven
(42:05):
and a half point favorites at home. I'm taking that
seven with the kicker. That's the lock for the underdog
of the week. Hear me out, Just hear me out.
Chargers decimated with injuries. Chargers still trying to find their
way to navigate the injuries. The Miami Dolphins are bad,
(42:27):
but they they played teams close, even the Bills. It
was a ten point loss, but that game was close.
They lost to the Panthers last week because they blew it.
I think they can keep it within three and a half,
especially early game East Coast. So there you go, Brady
and his bets. Every Friday, it's a bud Light Football Friday.
(42:48):
Mus Lombardi and Kane starts next
