Speaker 1 (00:01):
This is six in the Morning with Brett Caine on demand.
Check out Brett weekday mornings at six on Altitude Sports
Radio ninety two to five and on the Altitude Sports
Radio app.
Speaker 2 (00:18):
Eight seconds heading to his own blue line, cut your off,
winding to the corner. Barnes will track it down. Three seconds,
two one, Selma Hoard weren't the price of admission. The
Colorado Avalanche get a game winning goal from Ross Colton
(00:40):
against his former team as they beat the Tampa Bay
Lightning for the first time in three tries by a
final score of three to two and improved to eight
one and five on the season. And they get to
twenty one points.
Speaker 3 (00:55):
All right, The az get back in the win column
with a win over Tampa yesterday, and look, Tampa Bay
is still really good. They had this weird, sort of
clunky start to the year or they dropped six of
their first seven, came in here on a five game
winning streak, and they played like a team that you've
(01:18):
always played in Tampa, a solid team that doesn't make
too many mistakes and tries to capitalize when given an opportunity.
To your credit, the things that you've gotten or what
you got last night out of that game was another
good performance from Scott Wedgwood and what looks to be
(01:41):
another Chris McFarland special. I don't know if there's anybody
in the NHL more adept in the category of find
me guy with talent that is kind of been I
don't know if it's overlooked or given up on. And
(02:04):
let's see if we can hone some of that talent
in Remember Victor Olivson in August signed a essentially one
and a half million dollar deal as the same sort
of contracts that he's given a guy like Valnichushkin before,
the same type of contract he's given guys like Jonathan drewin.
(02:29):
You have talent, I'm gonna put you next to some
pretty damn good players. Show me what you're made of.
And Olisen yet again, after getting a hat trick a
couple of games, Ago throws in the first two and
I'll give him this credit. Feels like he's totally changed
(02:50):
the look and feel of your power play, which was
the main concern for most Davis fans in the early
portion of the season.
Speaker 4 (03:00):
He has been.
Speaker 3 (03:03):
Somebody with a left handed shot on the opposite side
of McKinnon that can just rifle one in the same
way that Miko Rantanen used to do that on the
Power Play Unit. But when you get production from those
kind of guys, it's complete season changers. One thing that
(03:25):
we knew about all of Sin when he came in
here is that guy's got a shot. He can rip it,
and I think it just took like, Hey, if you
get the puck on your stick, do what you do
best and throw one at the the small windows that
you see in front of you, because odds are if
(03:47):
you catch it clean, goalies aren't going to be able
to react fast enough. I mean, he's he's just been
fantastic to start this year. And you know, this is
an exercise that I'm going to continue to make of
looking at what was the issues that I felt like
(04:10):
held this team back in the past and what that
looks like this season. And for the Avs, they had
issues last year, at least in the early portion of goaltending,
which seems to be fixed. I don't much care whether
(04:33):
it's Wedgewood or Blackwood between the pipes at all, as
long as one of those guys continues to play at
the level that they're playing at. Who cares. Who's the
actual wood that's in between the pipes. Just find somebody
because they're going to play well. Secondly, the depth, and
(04:54):
it's something that I mentioned to Bednar our first talk
with him of the year, and he will join us,
I assume at eight o'clock this morning, Nelly. I didn't
hear any different. But the first time that we talked
to Jared Bednar, he had that opening press conference where
he talked about this team and he said that I
(05:22):
can't remember the exact quote, but he said he hasn't
felt this great about a team since twenty twenty two. Now,
that was the year that they won the Cup. And
I said, why is that? Is that because you have
a goaltending situation that's a little more stable to start
the year, and he said, yeah, that's certainly part of it,
but I think it's because of our depth. That's what
(05:45):
he said. Depth showed itself, it has throughout the season,
and certainly last night. Olafson is certainly a big part
of that. And Ross Colton's an other one, a little
backhand flip of beauty to give them a three to
(06:05):
one lead and a cushion heading into the third period.
I just think that they have all of the different
sort of check marks that you want on your roster.
And now right around the corner, what you have is
Logan O'Connor and Sam Gerard looking to get back in
the lineup, which gives you even more of that. So again,
(06:33):
a lot of good things happening for the Avs in
this early portion of the season. Now going to yesterday, Uh,
the Broncos did not do anything. They were active, they
were on the phone, but they didn't do anything. Am
I mad?
Speaker 5 (06:51):
No?
Speaker 3 (06:52):
Am I disappointed? Kind of? Now, I don't know what
the asking price is for people. You know, the reports
coming out of Miami is that they were listening to
calls on Bradley Chubb and Jalen Model all day, but
they set the price so high that nobody wanted to
pull the trigger. Okay, fine, but I think it's okay
(07:15):
if you want to be a little disappointed and you
look around what the rest of the league did, and
you see, you know, the Colts getting Sauce Gardner. Yeah,
I think that's totally fine that you look at them saying, wow,
that's a vast improvement at a position that's pretty damn important.
(07:37):
And they're tied with us for the league lead of
record in the NFL at seven and two. Yeah, I
think it's okay to feel like, man, I'd like to
to kind of join the arms race a little bit
or something like that. But there is there is not
(08:01):
some sort of like what the hell were they thinking
thing going on. We talked about it yesterday. We kept
seeing those little rumors spill out of maybe the Broncos
are in making phone calls to the Dolphins about Jayleen
Waddle and then you had Adam Schefter with us saying
(08:24):
they have called about a wide receiver over the past
couple of weeks. I'm always curious, by the way, what
happens during those phone calls. How many phone calls do
you have to make? And when do you decide to
hang up in you know what I'm talking about. If
I know this isn't fantasy football, but if I go
(08:48):
to Nelly and Nelly's got I don't know, he's got
Jaylen Waddell. I want Jalen Wondel. Is that all right? Nelly,
here's I'm gonna give you. I'll give you a first
round pick, third round pick or whatever, just hypothetically. And
now he says no, don't you counter on the spot
(09:12):
or do you hang up and wait a week and
then make a phone call with a different offer. That's
what I don't understand how this works. Why do you
need three weeks to talk your way through a deal?
I'll tell you after I left the show. If you remember,
(09:33):
if you listened yesterday, at the end of the show,
I disclaimed, I'm reporting that a trade for Jayalen model
is done by my brain. Because there was a lot
of smoke surrounding it. I literally got in my car
after the show got done and I started thinking to myself,
Wait a minute. When the Broncos make moves, they do
(09:55):
it in silence. They're like, they're Ninja's there. What's the
guy who's got the bar code on the back of
his neck? The video game hit Man guy? What's his name?
Is it hit Man? I think it's just hit Man?
Speaker 6 (10:10):
How's of the game's called.
Speaker 3 (10:14):
Agent forty seven or something like that. Yes, agent is
that it? Nobody knows he's there, and then all of
a sudden, just people are wiped out. That's how the
Broncos front office operates. Every move they've really made has
not had some sort of precursor to We've been hearing
(10:34):
some rumblings that the Broncos are doing this and this
and this. Everything that we heard was on the Miami
side of things, had to be. We didn't know about
the Russell Wilson trade until it happened, had no idea.
And that goes for virtually everything that they've done, like
(10:56):
no news at all about a Garrett Bulls extension boom.
Garrett Bulls is ex the same thing with like Pats
or Tan. They move in silence. They got a pretty
tight lipped organization over there, and I think everybody is
terrified because if somebody finds out that you're a leak,
I'm pretty sure Sean Payton waterboards you or something like that,
(11:24):
they lock you in a room with bright lights, play
loud music, and rip your fingernails off. But going back
to not doing anything, I do think it's okay. The
Broncos are in good shape, and I think they have
(11:45):
an extra incentive to keep some of their picks because
they have lost so many over the last few years.
But I always kind of think about, like I'm just
I'm a big fan of being aggressive when you got
an opportunity, when you have a window with a good
football team, basketball team, hockey team, whatever. I mean. There's
(12:07):
two starkly different approaches that the Avs and Nuggets have
had over the past few years. Now, to be fair,
the past couple of years, neither strategy has worked for
either team. But I am way more of a fan
of the way that the Avs were doing business, which is,
(12:28):
we see an opportunity with McKinnon and mccarr and all
these other guys in the roster, I'm going to be
ultra aggressive and damn the future, I want to win now.
And that's just sort of my mindset towards things. The
Nuggets took a different approach. They were all about keeping
the core together and building for the long term, and
(12:50):
then with this new group of Wallace and Tenzer, all
of that changed overnight. Then it was go out, make
the Cam Johnson Trey, go out and get Valanchounis, bringing
him hardaway, bring Bruce Brown back. Boom, there you go.
No more waiting on twenty three year olds to develop,
which again I think is a huge reason why the
(13:12):
skepticism and kind of anger when you found out that
Tenser and Wallace were hired here left within a week
because they did the things that we've been begging them
to do, which is to be hyper aggressive. The Broncos
made phone calls yesterday, but ultimately didn't pull the trigger
(13:32):
on anything. Okay, fine, you've still got a really good team.
Was there a pressing need on this roster? Not really,
But I can't help but look over at Philadelphia and say,
(13:52):
that's what I want my football team to be. You
feel like you're in a championship. You see a good
players available, who cares about you know, a fourth round pick,
go get them. But again, I appreciate that the Broncos
were in on phone calls yesterday in what sounded like
(14:16):
trying to make some big moves, just didn't come to fruition.
So three oh three, five, four oh nine, two five
shot maz de Tex Slam when price one person, one hour.
Jared Bednar is gonna join us at eight o'clock this morning.
More to get to with the deadline day yesterday and
(14:37):
the Broncos play tomorrow. I do want to look ahead
at the Raiders and ask you a question. If the
Broncos lose tomorrow, how does it happen.
Speaker 7 (14:46):
We'll get to it next, you know, I know the
Broncs have I think they've had some interest in a
wide receiver, and I think that they might feel like
they need I think I would say, like, I don't know,
I kind of like to say, of these young guys grow,
Pat Bryan and Marvin Minz and some of these other guys,
Like sometimes you get a veteran receiver and they become
(15:07):
what Bill Parcel's you just to say, progress stoppers And
maybe I'm missing something, but that was an offensive looked
great yesterday. You know you had Franklin making plays all
over the field. Brian got involved, made some plays like
a veteran. Could you use another? She was sure. But
sometimes it's best to let some of these young guys develop.
You know, you make calls if there's something there, fine,
(15:29):
But my point is if they don't, if they don't
do anything, I'm okay with that. I'm okay with that.
Like that sometimes that works, that okay.
Speaker 3 (15:36):
In the end, Adam schefter with us over the past
couple of weeks talking about what the Broncos might do.
The Broncos didn't do anything, and again, I think that's okay.
I would have liked to have seen something. I think
I think it would have been happier this morning, more
excited that you would try and take advantage you have
(16:00):
this really good defense add to your offense. All of
that now, again doesn't mean that they've failed or anything
like that. Don't think so at all, but it would
be nice to get a little boost in there, especially
at a skill position spot. You know, we spent a
lot of yesterday trying to figure out who what's at
(16:26):
fault with the offense right now. Is it a talent thing,
is it a scheme thing, is it a quarterback thing?
Speaker 7 (16:36):
What is it?
Speaker 3 (16:37):
And we still don't really have the answer yet. Now
that makes me a little bit nervous because we're halfway
through the year. Over halfway through it now. Adding somebody
who could just give you another weapon on the outside
is something I've been intrigued by. You can go back
to our shows in the off season, and I thought
(17:01):
they needed maybe one more sort of veteran wide receiver
presence on this team. Like I was just kind of
in on the Cooper Cup conversation. I just felt like
it would have rounded out the room a little bit more.
You have talented young wide receivers, but they're growing, and
(17:21):
I think there's room for you to do that along
with having a veteran guy that you need in crucial situations.
You know, there's been a couple of moments where maybe
a guy drops a pass, or maybe a guy runs
the wrong route or whatever, and all of that could
be alleviated with maybe a little bit more age inside
(17:47):
of that room. But again, they're still in good shape.
I think they have a good wide receiver room. It's
just like they're building at the time now around the league.
The one that's going to affect you the most is
the Jets trading for sas Gardner. The Jets kind of
do a lot of things.
Speaker 6 (18:05):
Well.
Speaker 3 (18:10):
They're seven and two. They've lost two games this year,
both seven point games to the Rams in the Steelers,
but they have had games in which they've given up
a handful of points. They gave up twenty eight to
the Broncos in the game that they won, twenty seven
to the Rams, twenty seven to the Cardinals, twenty four
(18:32):
to the Chargers, twenty seven to the Steelers. If there's
some place they could use some help, they could use
some help on the defensive side, and picking up one
of the best cornerbacks in the NFL is really gonna
help them, really gonna help. They went for the home
run move. Now there's some yesterday that didn't quite make sense,
(18:59):
and I'll get to that second. But another one I
think is probably underrated, not going to affect affect your
team as much. But I think the Seahawks are pretty good,
and then adding Rashid Shahed to that offense where they
already have. I mean their issue is that they are
(19:19):
They're pretty stacked with making good plays, but I don't
know how good their players are. Like on offense, they
have Jackson Smith and Jig but who is a star.
They did go out and get Cooper Cup who is
(19:40):
still pretty good. Their running back tandem between Charbona and
Kenneth Walker is alright, and Sam Darnold has proven himself
to be a good quarterback in this league. But I
think they needed more weapons on that roster. And getting
Shaheed for some you know late round picks, your your
Day three, early Day three picks fourth and fifth is
(20:03):
really smart on their part. I also think the Jets
did something brilliant yesterday. You know, as much as we
talked about like my mentality that I would like my
teams to have when you are good in competing for
championships is throw the future and caution to the wind.
Go out and try and make some plays, like go
(20:28):
out and try and take the home run swings at
guys to get them on your roster. I feel the
exact opposite when my team's bad, I think you should
offload like crazy. And Quinn Williams and Sasgardner are two
really good players. But it's gonna take a minute for
the Jets to get that figured out. And now what
(20:49):
they have is is the total Like is it seven
picks in rounds one and two over the next couple
of years. They have three first rounders two years from now,
they have two this year. Like they are stockpiled with
the ability to completely overhaul your franchise. And if you
(21:12):
get that right, you could be in contention in a hurry.
But there was insane value on both of the deals
that they made, not to mention they get Mazie Smith
in the process too, and that Quinn Williams trade, It's
(21:34):
not nothing reminds me a little bit of when the
Cowboys traded Micah Parsons and nobody talked about them getting
Kenny Clark back in that deal, and Kenny Clark's a
really good player. He was just kind of ignored in
that Now as far as what the Cowboys are doing,
who the hell knows? That's crazy And I really think
(21:59):
I mean, Jerry Jones has been a problem for them
for a long time. But Jerry Jones when he comes
out and says I need to win now because I
don't know how much longer I'm gonna be around, should
scare the hell out of you. And it also goes
(22:21):
directly it contradicts the move that he made with Michael Parsons.
If you're in on winning now, then he traded one
of the best pass rushers in the league. How does
that make sense only to go and deal for a
guy who's now in the middle that you're trying to
(22:43):
win for one with the Michaeh Parsons trade, I don't
get it now. In his defense, like I don't, I
don't think the Cowboys are terrible. They need help defensively, obviously,
And you could say that two guys in the middle
like Quentin Williams and Kenny Clark is building for the future.
(23:03):
You could argue that, but I don't know what their
mindset is, and I nobody really does So just a
brief overview of what a pretty crazy deadline looked like yesterday.
In the NFL. It's it's usually the least exciting one
(23:24):
out of the four major sports here when you get
around that deadline day. But they they were big names,
moving a ton of them. Jared Bednar is going to
join us at eight o'clock. Now, a lot more things
that we can break down with the deadline stuff in
just a few minutes. Dion was on a heater yesterday.
Speaker 4 (23:45):
What went into your decision to give Julian Lewis the
nod this week? Common sense? Common sense?
Speaker 3 (23:59):
I agree. I think it is common sense that when
you're pretty much out of Bowl contention, you have a
young quarterback, it's time to get him on the field
and see what this guy can do.
Speaker 4 (24:12):
So you can build common sense.
Speaker 3 (24:17):
Now, Dion throwing out all these different quotes yesterday from
his press conference, Julian Lewis getting the start is the
only thing that makes sense. It is common sense. On
top of that, he discussed, I don't know if we
(24:37):
have this nelly why no players are made available. So
here's his reasoning for it, and it goes back to
something he talks about a lot. Listen, what's the.
Speaker 5 (24:50):
Changes in couch football and players now being come? Is
it paid professionals? What in your mind qualifies it's fair
criticism for a player?
Speaker 8 (25:03):
It is Everything is fair. Everything is fair that you
guys do until it gets personal. Okay, it's okay to
talk about the performance. It's okay to talk about me
in every round. But when it gets personal, that's when
you steping across the lines. You can't step across that
line because we don't. If we get personal with you,
(25:25):
it's gonna be a problem because you're gonna get sensitive
with like we get sensitive in the park when you
step across the line with the kids.
Speaker 4 (25:32):
So that's that's keep it football related and we're good.
Speaker 3 (25:39):
I wish there were examples of what he's like. He
would and I guess I know what he's saying. If
he calls out somebody individually, then he looks like a
jerk for calling somebody out individually.
Speaker 6 (25:51):
Dion basically said, I'm a man, I'm fifty eight.
Speaker 3 (25:55):
Yeah, this is the weird place that we are in
college sports right now. You know, I've always had sort
of this weird feeling towards being overly critical with college kids.
Because they aren't professional, but now they're kind of professional,
(26:18):
and so does that does that blur that line? You know,
if a kid gets drafted at eighteen nineteen years old
and goes to the NBA, you're allowed, not allowed, but
it's it's more acceptable to go after them. And again,
(26:40):
personally is never something I've delved into. I don't like
that aspect of what some media members do where they
do get personal and they go with name calling and
stuff like that. I think that's just stupid and lazy.
Now I don't know what examples he's saying here, but
(27:02):
he goes on to say I have a fatherly spirit.
Speaker 5 (27:07):
Okay, So the second part of that is you said,
come after you, Yes, sir as paid professionals. Why don't
you think players should speak for themselves?
Speaker 4 (27:18):
And you can't? You can't, you know, man, that's a
great question. Let me tell you why. I have a
fatherly spirit and I have an overseer spirit.
Speaker 8 (27:30):
I'm trying to shield my guys from certain things that
may harm them. I know the temperature of the room.
I know if they can't handle this at this time.
Certain guys, certain guys can, certain guys can. I can't
differentiate those guys and tell you you can talk to them,
but you can't talk to them.
Speaker 4 (27:46):
I don't want to do that.
Speaker 8 (27:47):
So my job is to protect them and put an
umbrella around them until I feel like they're ready for
the tax and assaults, in ready for the social media.
Speaker 4 (28:00):
Which they're dealing with right now.
Speaker 8 (28:01):
So that's just me being a protector, guardian and their father,
which we all call coach back in the day.
Speaker 3 (28:09):
I actually understand exactly what he's talking about there, and
I do think that shows some good leadership as a coach.
In a roundabout way. It's kind of like this, there's
some guys on your team you can yell at, there's
some guys that you got to give and all that.
A boy. Everybody has a different sort of mental makeup
(28:33):
in what makes them tick and what allows them to
be the best version of themselves. And if you know
somebody is going to go up to a press conference
and not handle themselves properly, then I think this is
probably a good call by Dion. On the flip side
of this, it feels like this is kind of part
of the responsibility. And when Dion gets the players is
(28:56):
one thing, the coaches are another, and when he said yesterday,
maybe I've already made changes and you guys just don't
know about them yet. And I keep that tight knit
and that sort of that quote right there the college. Well, yeah,
(29:17):
let's go ahead to hear a little bit of it.
Speaker 7 (29:18):
First.
Speaker 9 (29:18):
Last week I asked you about changing responsibilities among your
assistant coaching staff. Yeah, and you mentioned, you know, those
things happen behind the scenes, you tweak things.
Speaker 8 (29:26):
Yeah.
Speaker 9 (29:26):
At what point, though, after some of these losses, do
you kind of lose trust in having the people in
the right spots.
Speaker 8 (29:35):
I might already change it, and you don't know. I
don't do stuff and blow the whistles in and make
major announcements.
Speaker 4 (29:44):
Hey, I don't.
Speaker 8 (29:46):
I don't do that kind of stuff. I do it,
and I let you guys still take shots. You don't
even know you You may be shooting at the wrong target.
So some things take place that you may not be
privy to.
Speaker 9 (29:58):
At what point would we figure point? Would they be
changes that we do notice?
Speaker 4 (30:02):
Though that's up to you to notice them. They may
have already happened.
Speaker 3 (30:07):
That I don't like. I also don't like ice.
Speaker 6 (30:12):
I was gonna say say that again, but take your
sixty four onnce big goal because I see you drink.
Speaker 5 (30:16):
There you go.
Speaker 3 (30:17):
Yeah, I see, I'm responsible. I've got ice in here.
Speaker 6 (30:21):
Now here's the thing about my staff.
Speaker 4 (30:26):
I make changes.
Speaker 3 (30:28):
I should not be allowed near a microphone. Number one,
number two. I have a problem with this. You have
a public let's call it a trust. Especially in college.
Your salary is paid through the state. You are a
(30:51):
public property. Ten million dollar a year salary is from
the pockets of people who live here. I don't think
you're allowed to do the game of major changes within
the way that that organization and that university is run.
(31:12):
You don't get to know about it. I think you
have to be fully transparent. I think you should in
a professional realm too. But what you're telling me, if
you made a change at offensive coordinator, you aren't going
to tell anybody. I don't think you can do that.
I don't think that's allowed with a public university because,
(31:38):
in a sense, the people who are sitting in the
stands are the ones that are paying your salary, and
they want to know why one hundred and ten points
was given up over the last couple of weeks, and
if you're going to make a change, and if your
answer is maybe maybe not, and you'll never know. Nana
Nana boo boo. I don't think that's right. I it's
(31:59):
the proper way you can handle these things. You have
to be more transparent.
Speaker 6 (32:02):
But I was trying to think about how I would
characterize Deon's pressors these days yesterday when I was here
with some of these cuts for the first time and
the and one word comes to mind. And I have
another example that I'm going to use to back this up. Filibustering. Yeah,
when they ask Deon questions, he just filibusters.
Speaker 5 (32:20):
Yeah, football is your business, but health is way more important,
at least it.
Speaker 7 (32:24):
Is to me.
Speaker 8 (32:25):
Football is not my business. Fall is my passion. Man,
It's like my It's like my lady. She's like my wife,
like I love her. I do, so it's it's more
than business to me. Business is the other stuff that's business.
This is is my heart is in this?
Speaker 5 (32:42):
Do you feel I mean, your health challenges has been
its real.
Speaker 4 (32:45):
Yeah, but they ain't gotten nothing to do with to
win and laws call.
Speaker 5 (32:47):
Him You don't think so?
Speaker 4 (32:49):
No, I ain't planning. I wish the world I could
fastly corner right now with short I wish I could.
Speaker 8 (32:57):
I didn't please corner, right, but no mean, but I
got to do a better job in in this whole
thing that's on me.
Speaker 4 (33:05):
So it has nothing to do with my health.
Speaker 3 (33:08):
Yeah, I mean he and look that with the added
charm really helps things too. And we'll get back to
this in a little bit. Three h three five four
nine two five are broadcasting for the Backus in Shanker Studios.
Their passion is justice, NFL Stockup stock Down. Next do
it every week following the NFL weekend. It is NFL
Stockups stock Down. We always start with the quarterbacks, Nelly
(33:31):
stock up. Yeah, I think it's uh Sam Donald. I've
just been really impressed what he's been able to do
in Seattle. You know, I thought, maybe you leave that
Kevin O'Connell ether and man, do you think Kevin O'Connell
knows the thing or two about bald You know, is
on his quarterback depth chart last year. Sam Donald and
(33:54):
Daniel Jones two guys having pretty good years this year elsewhere.
But I was one of the people that just I
left him for dead. I was like, all right, Sam
Donald's not any good. He stinks he's never gonna get
a chance again. And then he has this resurgent year
last year, and I still say to myself, yeah, it
feels a bit fluky. Don't know if that's just going
(34:18):
to continue. He'll go somewhere else and it's not going
to be the same. Signs with Seattle, and he just
continues to produce sixteen touchdowns five picks on the year.
He's got a quarterback rating that's higher than what it
was in Minnesota last season, and the Seahawks are a
really damn good football team. He was almost perfect against
the Commanders. He is twenty one to twenty four for
(34:40):
three hundred and thirty yards, four touchdowns and a pick.
The pick's the only thing that really held him back,
but he played a damn near perfect game. Sam Donald
is just he's he's becoming this new wave of quarterbacks
that gets second opportunities and find a way to really
cash in on those. So he gets stocked up, let's
(35:02):
go stock down. I don't know what to do with
Jordan Love. Jordan Love is a very uniquely gifted player
with a whole bunch of traits that you want, with
absolutely no consistency game to game, and I don't understand it.
(35:23):
He has a game you know, a couple of weeks
ago against the Pittsburgh Steelers where he has three hundred
and sixty yards and three touchdowns and he looks like
he's unstoppable. And then he plays against the Panthers last
week in Lambeau not only loses the game, but only
puts thirteen points on the board, like they lost the
game sixteen to thirteen against Carolina, and in that game
(35:47):
he turns the ball over. He can't find consistency within
the past game and things are only gonna get worse
now with the Tucker Craft injury, because it felt like
if there was one really consistent piece with that offense
week the week, it was that he was going to
find Tucker Craft, you know, seven or eight times for
ninety yards, and now that's kind of out the window.
(36:08):
I just don't know what to do with him. Incredibly
talented really when he's on, like the Packers could be
a super Bowl team, but he's just so hot and cold.
There's nothing you can truly trust within him. And I
think the Packers as a whole, No, every team in
(36:30):
the NFL right now has a weakness and probably multiple weaknesses,
and the Packers have this really good defense, they get
a good pass rush, they have young talented players surrounding
him on offense, a really good running back. Their weakness
right now is consistency within the quarterback thing, because if
they get that, they could make the argument for best
(36:51):
team in the NFL. And if he's off, they can
lose to anybody including Look, it's not Carolina from last year.
They're a game above five hundred, but still not not
world beaters by any means. So he gets a stock down.
(37:12):
Let's go non quarterback stock up.
Speaker 7 (37:17):
Doubt all.
Speaker 3 (37:19):
Rico Dowdell has been awesome. He has been so good
that he has unseated Chewba Hubbard, who had a twelve
hundred yard season last year for Carolina as the starting
running back. There if you would have looked to why
Carolina is having success, it's him. Remember this is another
(37:42):
guy that the Dallas Cowboys did not keep. The only
year they really used Dutl was last year and he
had an eleven hundred yard season. They let him walk
and he gets to Carolina gets an opportunity with Chewba
Hubbard being a little bit banged up in his not
looked back since this year. Ric o'dowdell has had a
(38:03):
two hundred yard game, a one hundred and eighty three
yard game in this last week, one hundred and thirty
yard game. He's been phenomenal. And Bryce Young is not
the type of quarterback that is going to lead you
to victory just through his passing game, So he needs
a solid running game, and rico'dowell brings that to him.
So he gets a stock up. Let's go non quarterbacks
(38:24):
stock down. I'm still waiting for it. I still think
it's there. I think it might be a circumstance of
the team that he plays for, but you're gonna face
him tomorrow. Ashton gent just hasn't been him for a
sixth overall pick at running back, hasn't had the pop
(38:47):
that I think we were all kind of expecting, or
at least I was expecting him to have in this league. Again,
could be byproduct of playing for a bad offense with
a quarterback who is leading the league in interceptions, and
a team that's constantly playing from behind. You know, there's
(39:08):
a lot of different sort of ingredients in the cake
as to why Ashyon Gentem might not be having the
season that we all kind of expected him.
Speaker 7 (39:16):
To.
Speaker 3 (39:18):
But bottom line is he's had one hundred yard game
this season. He's in the last two weeks rushed for
a combined total of sixty three yards. They need more
production out of that, especially with Gino Smith having a
bit of a down year with all the turnovers that
he's committing right now. And I don't think that's coming tomorrow.
(39:42):
I don't think the magic sort of get right game
is going to happen in Denver. So he's in a
little bit of trouble. Let's go NFL team stock up.
Part of me wants to give this to the Panther.
There's just for being over five hundred and winning the
(40:02):
game against the Packers and Lambeau.
Speaker 7 (40:05):
Was up, y'all, I got a question.
Speaker 3 (40:07):
You know I'm gonna have these come on, come on, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 6 (40:13):
Also, if I had one hundred fifty thousand, exactly what
I would do, y'all?
Speaker 4 (40:19):
What would you do?
Speaker 3 (40:20):
Would you buy a plane and one hundred thousand on
a team? Wait a minute, that's not enough to buy
a team. It's been one hundred thousand on a tricked
out Porsch Wait what Minnesota is too much?
Speaker 7 (40:30):
You know?
Speaker 4 (40:30):
Me?
Speaker 3 (40:30):
A tennis court outside my House. Yeah, I'll give it
to Carolina them being a game over five hundred and
week nine of the NFL season. Did anybody have that
on their BEINGO card, because I think the answer to
that is no, Let's go NFL team stocked down.
Speaker 4 (40:48):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (40:50):
I know that the Giants had their fun for those
couple of weeks when Jackson Dark came in. They won
two of three against the Chargers in the Eagles and
then somehow lost the game against the Saints in the
middle of that. But they remember the way that they
were talking when it was Broncos week, and then they
had the Giant League gave that up and since then
(41:12):
have lost three straight. They're not They're two and seven.
They aren't going anywhere. He was a cute little couple
of weeks. But that's it. Let's just go to best
game of the week. Oh yes, I honestly, I don't
know how you can't take Bears and Bangles just for
(41:35):
the flurry of a finish that they had. The final
score is forty seven to forty two. I like points.
I liked throwing the ball flag I had almost five
hundred yards. I give it to him. Worst game of
the week. Fucking feute down in my plones a couple options.
It's Ravens Dolphins, terrible game. Ravens who ticked this not
(42:00):
out of them on the scoreboard didn't even look good either,
so that is NFL stock cup stock down. Reminder to
