Speaker 2 (00:04):
Check out Brett weekday mornings at six on Altitude Sports
Radio ninety two five and on the Altitude Sports Radio app.
Speaker 1 (00:18):
Your line shows certain numbers. There is another one.
Speaker 3 (00:22):
Clemental left field, and that baller is gone. He's six
of the year and Ernie's fourth hit of the game.
The Blue Jays have scored twenty runs today.
Speaker 1 (00:38):
And glad he's up next. Oh boy, this day might
not end. That was a whooping.
Speaker 2 (00:44):
The Rockies got absolutely molly wopped in their three.
Speaker 1 (00:50):
Games against the Blue Jays.
Speaker 2 (00:53):
They got smoked, they got rolled, they got pummeled, they
got trashed.
Speaker 1 (00:59):
Man, they are a they are a tire fire. They
have been all season. But damn sixty three hits.
Speaker 2 (01:08):
By one team against another team in a three game
sweep in the Rockies. Let me tell you what happened
the year the last time a team did what the
Blue Jays just did to the Rockies. Let me tell
you what happened back in that year. Let me tell
you what happened. The telegraph was big railroads were just railroads.
Speaker 3 (01:32):
Man.
Speaker 1 (01:32):
It is where it was that, this.
Speaker 2 (01:34):
Is what we're talking about, man, It was the end
of the Boxer Rebellion in China. It was the assassination
of King Umberto the first of Italy. The year was
nineteen hundred. Nineteen hundred people.
Speaker 1 (01:52):
That's the last time a team.
Speaker 2 (01:55):
Got smashed the way the Rockies just got smashed.
Speaker 1 (02:00):
Whole baby.
Speaker 2 (02:01):
That is crazy. So yesterday the Rockies lost twenty to one.
They lost twenty to one, and what it meant is
that the Blue Jays put together one of the greatest
three games series sweeps in the.
Speaker 1 (02:13):
History of baseball.
Speaker 2 (02:14):
Sixty three hits, the most by a team in a
three game set since nineteen hundred. They won the season
open or fifty to one. They won the middle game
ten to four. They set a cen A franchise record
for runs in a three game series with forty five
of them. It was the sixth time in franchise history
(02:35):
that they scored at least.
Speaker 1 (02:36):
Twenty runs in a game.
Speaker 2 (02:39):
It listen, man, And then not only that, if you're
a rocket, I mean a bobu shit was doing a
lot of that damage, man, a lot of that damage.
He hovered again yesterday, right, and it's just like, here's
the problem talking about the Rockies. You can't talk about
the Rockies without becoming without sounding super negative, right, you
know what I mean, because there's no there is no
(03:01):
answer for how bad the cover Rockies are right now.
Speaker 1 (03:05):
I cannot believe we've got to the point where I'm
just I'm I'm hopeless.
Speaker 2 (03:09):
I'm hopeless when it comes to Rocks hopeless, don't I
have no zero hope in my heart that the Rockies
is going to figure this out?
Speaker 1 (03:16):
What proof do we have that they will? What? You
know what I hate? You know what I hate most.
Speaker 2 (03:21):
We were talking about the smartest people in sports yesterday,
and I mean I I like, I like me a
khaki athlete or a kaki front office or or kaky
head coach. Man, I like, bring that swag, Go ahead,
go ahead, bring it, man, bring it.
Speaker 1 (03:35):
But you gotta be.
Speaker 2 (03:35):
Smart enough to listen to the criticisms coming your way.
Like I feel like you are a You're a weak individual.
You are a weak organization if you cannot stomach criticism,
if you can't take criticism. And it feels like for
years now, the Rockies are just looking around at me like,
shut up, we know what we're doing.
Speaker 1 (03:53):
Stop me, sh shut up. We know what we're doing.
Speaker 2 (03:57):
And man, I cannot believe we've come to this pointint
of Rockies baseball. I wasn't even even go I wasn't
even gonna start the show with Rockies. Obviously, Man, nobody
gives a damn about the Rockies.
Speaker 1 (04:09):
Other than I mean, we do he I love the Rockies.
I love the I do. I love the Capitol the Rockies.
Speaker 2 (04:14):
Man, they are dead to me right now though, dead
to me, man, And I don't know the answer, shop
massa text line three oh three five O four nine
two five. If you got the answer, letts know, man,
if you know, if if you can fix this problem.
And I know what the I know the very first
text we're gonna get. And for fifteen twenty years now,
I've been I've been shaming all of you who texted
(04:36):
in to me, like just have the mom for sell
the team. They got to sell the team, gotta sell
the team, because I'm like, that's that's unrealistic. You guys,
stop giving me that idea. And you know it right now,
this is that might be the only idea that could
possibly fly.
Speaker 1 (04:49):
Right now right it mean, it's never gonna happen.
Speaker 2 (04:51):
I cannot believe I am at this point where I'm
just like, blow the whole thing up, man, blow it.
Speaker 1 (04:57):
Up, blow it up, do whatever it takes.
Speaker 2 (04:59):
Man.
Speaker 1 (04:59):
This is crazy. This is crazy.
Speaker 2 (05:01):
Do you is there any part of Is there any
part of Rocky Fan that likes what's going on right now?
Speaker 4 (05:09):
Any it like?
Speaker 1 (05:10):
Is it seriously Rocky fan?
Speaker 2 (05:11):
Tell me, man, Tell me man, your team just gave
up sixty three hits in a three game suite.
Speaker 1 (05:17):
There they are.
Speaker 2 (05:18):
They are historically bad and all that. You know what
the I don't even care about this sick well I do.
I actually do care about the sixty three hits and
the forty five forty five runs or whatever they put
on them.
Speaker 1 (05:30):
I do care about that. But brother, you need to
look at that.
Speaker 2 (05:34):
You need to look at the Rockies run differential wholely.
Schnikes the Rockies. They're gonna have the worst run differential
in the history of Major League Baseball and obviously that
sport's been going on for like two hundred years right now,
the Rockies run differential minus three hundred and sixteen. All
I don't even like, like, you've got to be mentally
(05:56):
scarred from a season like this, right, not just not
just the not just the players or the coaches, the
fans too, right, No, not a single Rocky fan.
Speaker 1 (06:07):
For the rest of their life is gonna forget this season.
Just one of the the.
Speaker 2 (06:10):
Worst season in the history of the sport. And that's
your team out there doing it.
Speaker 1 (06:14):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (06:15):
Give me an you're sitting on eighty four losses in August,
is that I don't want I don't want to talk
about the Rockies because there is no right answer to
what I mean, or there is no there is no
answer period right your response to this.
Speaker 5 (06:29):
You're touching on an issue that Krekman and Lindall brought
up yesterday, which they talk about They were just talking
about Rockies apathy that basically fans have seen so much
bad baseball. No, especially in the season. It's gone from
what the opposite of love isn't hate, it's indifference. Yeah, yes, exactly.
And Rockies fans are there where they see, they see
(06:50):
everything you just said. In the three games sweep of
the Rockies, the Blue Jays got forty five runs, thirteen
home runs, sixty three hits, and Rockies fans are just
sitting here like, well, the bananas are in town this weekend.
That's fun. Yeah, people don't care anymore. They've been beaten
down so much that they don't care.
Speaker 2 (07:07):
But here's here's the problem. Like, apathy is one of
my major flaws. That's like, that's listen, your boy's got
a bunch of flaws, a bunch of bunch of flaws,
but apathy is one of them. There are plenty of
things that I should care about that I simply don't.
Speaker 1 (07:21):
And there was a time, well, I don't know, that's
that's not true.
Speaker 2 (07:26):
There's never been a time where I haven't, you know,
watched the Rockies or paid attention to the Rockies even
when they're this bad.
Speaker 1 (07:32):
Here's the problem.
Speaker 2 (07:33):
Instead of being apathetic about the Rockies in this season,
it's just pissed me off, Like this is the first
time in the history of the Rocks that I'm like, like,
I'm I'm mad, I'm angry.
Speaker 1 (07:45):
At what they're doing.
Speaker 2 (07:47):
Like this kind of a competence seems almost impossible in
a professional organization, but we keep getting it right, Like
it should be almost impossible to be as bad as
the Rockies are talking about this team, the team we
were watching right now, this is probably the worst sports
team in the history of this city.
Speaker 1 (08:07):
Right this is going to be the worst.
Speaker 2 (08:09):
This is the worst professional sports team in the history
of the city, right unless they hockey Rockies. No, no,
they were better. No, no, no, the like even you
know what I mean, Like, yes, in professional sports this
city has ever seen that we've ever seen.
Speaker 4 (08:26):
But guess what, Burdo.
Speaker 5 (08:28):
In fifty seven games at Course Field this year, the
Rockies are averaging thirty thousand people for attendance. Yea, that
is more than the entire two thousand and seven seasons average.
More people on average are coming to these games than
they did the October year. And so people talk about, oh,
you got to sell the team, you got to sell
(08:49):
the team. The Montforts aren't going to sell the team because,
you know what, they're making money.
Speaker 3 (08:53):
Now.
Speaker 4 (08:54):
They're not stringing wins together, but they're making mone how
much they.
Speaker 2 (08:56):
You know much, how much wealthier they would actually be
if they sold the team. If it's just about the money,
then they should sell the team. But I don't think
they will. And for years and years I've I've come
at the people who've texted in or called them and
just like, yo, man, they need to sell the team,
cause that's I mean, it feels to me that that's
a bush league way of going about it. But I'm
at this point, I'm I'm I'm looking for any answer,
(09:18):
any answer you could possibly give me, any answer at all, man,
I mean, think outside the box. Anything is gonna take man,
because I mean, this is a it's it's it's embarrassing
to the players and the coaches. It's embarrassing to the
fans right like it shouldn't be. But I feel, I mean,
it's I'm I feel embarrassed to be a Rockies fan,
to be a lifelong Rockies fan is tough right now.
(09:42):
And I'm listening. I'm a ride or die. You gotta
stick with your team, and I'm gonna stick with this team.
Speaker 1 (09:48):
But damn if they aren't making me angry.
Speaker 2 (09:50):
And it just feels like they just keep doing the
same thing over and actually, let me say this, I
think the Rocky the thing that makes the makes us
most angry at the Rockies is they seem so passive.
Right You're going through the worst season you have ever had,
(10:10):
and last year was one of the worst seasons you
ever had, and the year before that was one of
the worst seasons you ever had. And it feels like
over the last three seasons they have been so damn
passive about trying to fix the problems at Blake Street.
Speaker 1 (10:30):
Listen, man, I came in today. I was nice, calm,
cool and collected.
Speaker 2 (10:33):
I was ready to start this thing, talking about a
little training camp with the Broncos of the forty nine ers,
and then Nelson had to get me started with this
Rockies man.
Speaker 1 (10:42):
Yeah, I don't know. I'm done with them. I mean
they are. I am so angry at the Rocks. They're
making me angry for no good reason.
Speaker 2 (10:48):
I shouldn't be angry at it, man, I usually just
accept it and move on. Listen, There's nothing you can
do about it, but I would like it. Yeah, anybody
on the text line give me an answer to the
like see the nine to seven oh is blaming the fans,
like blame the damn idiots who go to the games.
(11:08):
There are far better and cheaper places to drink. To
help with this ownership group, do not.
Speaker 1 (11:15):
Attend the games.
Speaker 2 (11:17):
So once again, going to Coors Field and watching a
game is fun as hell.
Speaker 1 (11:23):
Like I bet you yesterday was all kinds of fun.
Speaker 2 (11:26):
If you weren't a rider, die Rockies fan, And if
you are a rider, die Rockies fans.
Speaker 1 (11:31):
I want to hear it. I want to hear it.
Speaker 2 (11:32):
If you love the Rockies more than any other team
in this city, you know what I mean? If you
love the Rockies, hit me up on the text line
and tell me.
Speaker 1 (11:38):
Why and how you hang it in. Man.
Speaker 2 (11:41):
I wonder, I wonder how many season ticket holders are
still just like, yeah, I'll just keep paying every year,
we'll be good eventually. Or how many season ticket holders
they've just been they've lost over the last three years.
Speaker 1 (11:53):
I don't know, man, that's I mean.
Speaker 2 (11:55):
They beat you fifteen to one, and then they beat
you ten to four, and then they beat you twenty
to what. That's not a professional baseball team, man, I
don't know what it is, but it's not a professional
baseball team, not at the Major League Baseball level. The
sport actually, let me phrase it like this, The game
of baseball is amazing. Nelson mentioned the Savannah Bananas are
(12:18):
going to be here this week. There's a reason that
the Bananas sell out all those games and people love
to come and watch it.
Speaker 1 (12:25):
The game of.
Speaker 2 (12:27):
Baseball is amazing. The sport of baseball that is comprised
of Major League Baseball is less than it's less than
it's less than what the game could be. That sport
used to be the most popular sport in this country.
We loved baseball, and baseball didn't change, Major League Baseball change.
(12:51):
So maybe, I mean, maybe the bananas are bringing back
a revolution.
Speaker 1 (12:56):
I guess.
Speaker 5 (12:56):
The thing with the Rockies, though, is like it or not,
Course Field is an amazing destination, and especially when you
factor in all the bars in Loto, you can have
yourself at an amazing right summer night.
Speaker 2 (13:07):
And so don't hurt, don't hurt your enjoyment just because
the Rockies are trash.
Speaker 5 (13:12):
But the point is, even if you waved a magic
wand and you stopped every local Denver person from going
to Rockies games to make a statement, you know who
would still fill thirty thousand seats in Coors Field. The
visiting fans, the transplants. Even if every Rockies fan boycotted
a series against the Dodgers, they would still sell like
one hundred thousand tickets because of all the Dodgers fans,
the Yankees, the Red Sox, the Cubs. There were commercials
(13:36):
airing on our station promoting the Rockies Cub series to
get all the transplants out there. I mean that's just
what it is. So I don't think the attendance solution
is a solution. Even if all the Rockies fans stop
showing up right, visiting fans are still going to cash
them on for its paychecks and it was, So it's
gotta be something else.
Speaker 2 (13:55):
Once again when we're taking shots at the Rockies, which
feels like it's the only thing you.
Speaker 1 (13:59):
Can do right now, find me a positive.
Speaker 2 (14:01):
I'm sure d Mack or Springer, one of those like
really pro Rockies guys could find me something.
Speaker 1 (14:06):
But I can't see it, man, I can't see it.
I can't see it.
Speaker 3 (14:09):
Now.
Speaker 1 (14:09):
They got to go to Arizona, and how do you?
Speaker 3 (14:12):
How do you?
Speaker 1 (14:12):
I mean, how do.
Speaker 2 (14:13):
You regroup after the worst series loss of the last
one hundred and twenty five years?
Speaker 4 (14:20):
How you go?
Speaker 1 (14:20):
Boy? Doing that? I don't know, Man, there's.
Speaker 2 (14:23):
There's the The answers are few and far between, and
it feels like we're all just yelling at clouds when
it comes to Rockies baseball right now.
Speaker 1 (14:31):
I mean, I love them, I do.
Speaker 2 (14:33):
I do. I love them even as bad as they
are right now, But man, are they making me angry?
And I'm assuming they are making all of you angry
as well. I don't come on text like any any
any positive, anything positive at all. When it comes to
the Rockies, I want to hear it, man, because I
got nothing right now, I got absolutely nothing.
Speaker 1 (14:56):
Throw things on the field, Like WNBA gifts.
Speaker 2 (14:58):
Did you see the w NBA is banning bags now
you can't bring in because they're like enough of the.
Speaker 1 (15:03):
Sex toys people.
Speaker 2 (15:04):
Well, you guys doing you crazy fools, and so they
banned you can't. They're like, stop trying to sneak those
things in there. Ah, but yeah, I mean not going
to cools Field probably, Like the Rockies are not cheap,
they're some of the time you hear people criticize the
Rockies for not spending money, But that's not that's not
the Rockies problem. The Rockies problem isn't that they're cheap
(15:25):
the Rockies. The problem is that they're bad. They're bad
at making those decisions, they're bad at doing baseball things.
Speaker 1 (15:31):
That's the problem.
Speaker 2 (15:34):
Is the Rockies entire outlook going to change if Major
League Basketball actually gets a cap.
Speaker 1 (15:40):
In place on it.
Speaker 2 (15:41):
No, No, it's not that they're spending money. They're spending
money poorly, or they're making bad decisions. It's not that
they don't have the money to spend. I mean, like
somebody suggested on the text line, I heard, I heard
from a guy who.
Speaker 1 (15:58):
Knows some people in the Rockies.
Speaker 3 (16:00):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (16:00):
They said that Montfort is tanking, but tanking for what
you know?
Speaker 1 (16:05):
What is so the way?
Speaker 2 (16:06):
Oh sorry, my bad. He said Montfort's tanking so the
value of the team lowers and he can sell to
his son.
Speaker 1 (16:13):
Wait no, no, no, his no.
Speaker 2 (16:14):
Yeah, that's crazy talk because his son basically that right. No, no, no, no, no,
that's not how that works.
Speaker 4 (16:23):
A puff puff pass. Brother, He's not.
Speaker 2 (16:27):
Gonna sell the team to his son. He's going to
give the team to his son right when he when
he moves on. Hey, there you go, Josh Hunter Goodman
has been pretty solid. I but you can understand why
I can't hold on to Hunter Goodman has been pretty good.
When you just suffered the worst three game defeat in
the last since since since we invented the telegraph.
Speaker 1 (16:48):
That's the last time it happened.
Speaker 2 (16:50):
Exist thing, Right, that's crazy, man, that's absolutely crazy. Is
there any way MLB could force a yes? Yes, yes,
If Major League Baseball wanted to, they could. They could
make a change to ownership, but they wouldn't do it
because of this reason. Matter of fact, I'm sure there's
owners in the sport who are like, hell no, they
(17:13):
they make money, but they're terrible, so we can beat
up on them every year.
Speaker 1 (17:16):
We don't want we don't want the momforts out of
this league.
Speaker 2 (17:19):
No way, man, no way, no way, because they keep
making money, but they're terrible, so the rest of us
can beat up on them now they but yes, major
League Baseball could, but it have to be something completely egregious.
So either way, all right, you know what, this's crazy talk,
crazy talk. Let's take a time out. When we come back,
we'll start talking about stuff that actually matters.
Speaker 1 (17:38):
Like I can't believe.
Speaker 2 (17:39):
I can't believe in an NFL preseason game is more
important than a Major League Baseball regular season game.
Speaker 1 (17:44):
But that's where we are in this city. We'll be
right back. Welcome back to Brett Kane in the morning.
Although Brett is still out.
Speaker 2 (17:52):
I don't know what the hell he's doing, but he uh,
he'll be back on Monday. Just taking time off right
the middle of Broncos camp. As you hear, the Broncos.
Speaker 1 (18:03):
Travel to San Francisco, yesterday.
Speaker 2 (18:05):
They will take on the Niners in a joint practice
two day and our training camp coverage on Altitude Sports
Radio is powered by Ramos Law, the official injury law
firm partner of Broncos Country. We are what three days
now away from a Broncos preseason game.
Speaker 1 (18:23):
We are twenty what twenty two?
Speaker 2 (18:29):
Twenty three days away from that SEU Georgia Tech game
up up at Boulder.
Speaker 1 (18:33):
That's here, Man College of Football is here, It's here.
We're coming.
Speaker 2 (18:38):
We got a we got we got preseason games to night.
We got preseason games to night. Matter of fact, I
got a list. I'm gonna tell you exactly what and
why I'm watching when it comes.
Speaker 1 (18:51):
To preseason football.
Speaker 2 (18:52):
But first and foremost, we're gonna talk about the Bronx
and what we expect to see. Joint practice should be
interesting things like to get a little spicy.
Speaker 1 (19:02):
We all saw what happened to Rabel's face yesterday when
he hopped.
Speaker 2 (19:06):
In the middle of a scrum, when we got popped
right in the right in the nose. So it should
be interested to see the Broncos and Niners. And then
I have no idea who San Francisco is gonna play.
We're gonna find out a lot more today because both
both Sean Payton and Kyle Shanahan should probably talk after
today's practice.
Speaker 1 (19:24):
We'll figure out exactly what's going on.
Speaker 2 (19:26):
The unofficial depth chart released yesterday. I mean right, no,
there was absolutely no shockers on that thing. Nothing. Everything's
gonna be all right, So nothing too fancy there. I
mean what, I really don't have much criticism for that
depth chart either. I mean, yeah, what up Rooks sitting
(19:46):
there at the bottom of that thing. But at the
same time, when you're looking at it, you're like, yeah,
that's fairly that's an interesting roster.
Speaker 1 (19:53):
I want to see what happened.
Speaker 2 (19:54):
Maybe maybe a little bit more depth at different positions,
like in side linebacker, but others other than that, Man,
everything's coming up.
Speaker 1 (20:03):
Everything's coming up orange and blue right now. But we'll
see once they actually hit the field.
Speaker 2 (20:07):
Because you think, man, you think d mac d mac
was calling my man bo Nicks a phony yesterday and
the day before that because he's gotten.
Speaker 1 (20:17):
Into the social media scene, and uh, but can.
Speaker 2 (20:21):
You but and that that that's just criticism for the
dude starting a YouTube page. Can you imagine if he
looks bad in the first series against San Francisco with
d Max going do and isn't that d Max dude?
Speaker 1 (20:33):
Like, wasn't d Max.
Speaker 2 (20:34):
Throlen like flips and stuff when they dragged the vogue?
And man it took one season for Darren Mkita turn
on that man, ye, yes, yes, Now how long has
that been since d MAC was freaking out like that?
It's been a little over a year since d MAC
was freaking out over the Bnick selection. And now he's
(20:57):
anti Bo, just anti bo. Can you imagine if he
doesn't look amazing this weekend, what.
Speaker 1 (21:02):
The critician is going to look like?
Speaker 2 (21:05):
But again, I mean, maybe it's just the fact that
it's the dog days this summer and we all need
something to talk about before we actually get to some stuff.
All right, This to me is wild, absolutely wild, and
I want to I want to talk about it, and
I want to bring actually, you know, before we before
(21:26):
we bring up this, this thing that happened in USA
today yesterday, I do want to mention this. So Saturday,
the Broncos and the Niners play at Levi Stadium. My
question for Steve Nelson, my question for the shop Muster
text line is simply, this will the Denver Broncos be
(21:49):
back at Levi Stadium on February eighth for the Super Bowl,
because that's where Super bowls sixty is being held. It's
being held in San Francisco this year. February eighth, twenty
twenty six. I think kickoff is four thirty Mountain Baby,
that's the super Bowl. That's super Bowl sixty. Who believes
(22:10):
in their heart of hearts that the Broncos are gonna
be there? Who believes that this team is gonna can
make a super Bowl run this season?
Speaker 1 (22:18):
And who do you think they'll play?
Speaker 5 (22:19):
I know that this is the kind of vibe you
want me to bring on a Thursday morning.
Speaker 4 (22:25):
So I'm gonna tell you.
Speaker 5 (22:26):
You know who won the Super Bowl in Levi Stadium
ten years ago? That would be the Denver football Brox
won Super Bowl fifty. So who's gonna win Super Bowl
sixty in Levi Stadium Santa Clara, California.
Speaker 4 (22:38):
Again.
Speaker 5 (22:38):
It's gonna be your Denver Broncos. It's destiny. It was
meant to be this.
Speaker 1 (22:43):
So this is crazy. This is crazy.
Speaker 2 (22:46):
The entire the last month or two we've been talking
about I mean, this whole preseason, everybody's been judging the
talent level on the Broncos, and is it as good
as we think it's gonna be. So let me every year,
the USA Today Sports Section, they simulate they pick the
winners of every.
Speaker 1 (23:05):
Single regular season game.
Speaker 2 (23:06):
So they pick two hundred and seventy two winners from
the regular season. That's how many regular season games are
gonna be this year, two hundred and seventy two. And
then they use that to build the entire season. Who
they think is gonna win each division, what they think
the playoffs standings are gonna be, who wins the wild card,
the divisional and then who gets to the super Bowl.
Speaker 1 (23:26):
And so.
Speaker 2 (23:28):
Let me tell you right now, let me tell you
right now, they are so high on the Broncos it
is crazy. They have the Broncos winning the AFC West
with a record of twelve and five, twelve and five.
They have Denver winning as many games the Eagles. The
only teams that they have winning more than the Broncos
(23:49):
are the Ravens and the Bills. That they have the
Broncos winning the third most games in the NFL this
season and winning the AFC West. And they did point
out one issue that I didn't realize because I looked
at the schedule, but I hadn't looked.
Speaker 1 (24:04):
At the chief schedule.
Speaker 2 (24:05):
So they were saying that if the division might actually
come down to the two games of the Broncos and
Chiefs play against each other this season, the problem is
that the first meeting between the Broncos and the Chiefs,
it's here in Denver, but the Chiefs have the week
off the week they have a buye the week before,
so they're gonna get extra they're gonna be rested, and
they get extra time to prepare for the Broncos here
(24:28):
in Denver. Then the game in Kansas City is the
game on Christmas Night, which is gonna have all is
that it'll be the only game on Christmas Night. It'll
have all that national Christmas juice going on there, and
it's in Kansas City. So they said those two games
might literally decide the division because they have the Chiefs
(24:49):
going eleven and six and the Broncos going twelve and five,
But that could swap depending on what happens with the
two meetings between the two teams.
Speaker 1 (24:56):
They did point out that for.
Speaker 2 (24:58):
The Broncos, there is a stretch of their schedule when
they get back they play the Jets in London on
October twelve.
Speaker 1 (25:04):
They come back and once that big, stupid.
Speaker 2 (25:07):
Nasty overseas trip is done, they don't leave Denver except
for one more time over the next forty eight days.
So they got a month and a half where they
only leave Denver once and the rest of the time
they're just here.
Speaker 1 (25:18):
Welcome man, opponents. So what's up?
Speaker 2 (25:20):
So they got the Broncos at twelve and five, they
got the Chiefs at eleven and six. Although I mean
that's four fewer wins than the Chiefs had last year.
I can't believe, like USA Today was coming after Kansas City.
Speaker 1 (25:32):
This is a direct quote.
Speaker 2 (25:33):
They called the fifteen wins from the Chiefs last season
the flimsiest and luckiest fifteen wins in NFL history. Like, listen, man,
that's a bit much. I mean, did you see where
the Chiefs ended up at. It's not like they were fraudulent, right,
I mean maybe they were worth fifteen wins, but they
were worth thirteen, right. I mean, come on, man, even
(25:54):
though though they're their margin of victory like they was
low was slim. I mean, come on, you can't criticize
the team for winning fifty.
Speaker 1 (26:02):
You can't.
Speaker 2 (26:03):
That's the luckiest fifteen wins season I've ever seen. That's
kind of harsh, but whatever, I'll take it. They have
the Chargers at nine and eight. They say the Chargers
just don't have they don't have that special player, special
weapon on offense or defense outside of Herbert.
Speaker 1 (26:17):
The Raiders, they have them going five to twelve.
Speaker 2 (26:20):
I didn't realize that the Raiders have a bunch of
early East Coast games this season.
Speaker 1 (26:24):
You know those games that these teams hate to.
Speaker 2 (26:27):
Play where you have to fly to the East Coast
and then play that play in that early slot on
Sunday morning.
Speaker 1 (26:34):
Yeah, no, no, no, no, they don't like that.
Speaker 2 (26:35):
So the Raiders might lose all three of those that
they're playing. So they had the third seed in Denver, Bronco.
So that's what happens in the AFC West. Twelve wins
for Denver, eleven wins for Kansas City, nine wins for
the Chargers, five wins for the Raiders.
Speaker 1 (26:49):
Broncos win the division. They get the number three.
Speaker 2 (26:52):
Seed in the NFL Playoffs before they lose in the
first round at home to the sixth seeded Pittsburgh Steelers,
led by Aaron Rodgers. According to the USA Today prediction,
man that is that would that's gonna be no kinds
of fun if that proves to be true. That the
Steelers roll in a mile high and Aaron Rodgers ninety
(27:15):
seven year old, but beats you. Although I saw Rogers
told Tomlin that, hey, man, if you want me to
playing this prex like Aaron Rodgers doesn't need to play
in a preseason game.
Speaker 1 (27:24):
But he told Tomlin like, hey, if you need me,
I'll go. I'll play. But why would you play Rogers?
Speaker 2 (27:30):
But that was their prediction that the once again the
Broncos would win two more games than they did last year.
They would win the division, which is a massive feats
was one of the goals that Sean Payton is set
for this team. But they lose in the first They're
upset in the first round the wildcard round by the
Pittsburgh Steelers, so that's what the Then they have the
Ravens beating the Steelers in the division round and the
(27:54):
Chiefs beating the Bills in individual round. They have the
Ravens taking down the Chiefs in the AFC Championship game.
In the NFC, they have the Packers beating the Rams
in the NFC Championship game, and then they have the
Ravens beating the Packers to win the Super Bowl sixties.
They have Baltimore winning the whole thing. They also have
Baltimore winning more games than anybody else's season. I think
at thirteen or fourteen games.
Speaker 1 (28:16):
They have them. So that was the I mean, they
do it every year.
Speaker 2 (28:19):
But I'm man, I don't know how to feel about
everybody looking at the bro because remember last year when
everybody thought the Broncos we was gonna suck and they didn't.
Speaker 1 (28:27):
And now everybody thinks the Broncos is gonna be great,
and it makes me nervous that something weird is gonna happen.
Speaker 2 (28:33):
But I mean, I mean, you get to twelve wins
and win the AFC West, would we consider that a
great season? Even if you got upset by a team
in the in the first round of the playoffs, you're
the third seed, you get upset by a six seeded team.
I mean, it's the NFL playoffs. Anything could happen, and
you know what I mean, like anybody could beat anybody
at any time in any game. But would we all
(28:54):
be happy with that? An AFC West leading twelve and five,
but once again, you don't win a playoff game. You
were now zero for two in playoff games with bo
Nix's starting quarterback. I think that might be a little
bit of an issue. Even if you even if you
win the division and everybody's happy, you win twelve games
and everything works out, it still be a little tough.
(29:17):
It's a little tough. Yesterday I wanted to bring up
something that Peyton Mannings said to Troy Rank that I
found fascinating. But maybe it's part of the reason that
everybody's picking these yeah, huge win totals for the Broncos
this season, and it's because Peyton told Troy, Oh, well,
you told a lot of things. But the interesting thing
(29:38):
he says, the Broncos have gone from hoping they were
a good team to knowing they're a good team. And
Peyton says, you know, belief is critical to success. Well,
he also said you have to stay healthy, but belief
is critical to success. So when do you think the
Broncos went from hoping they were a good team to
(30:02):
knowing they were a good team. It happened sometime last season, right,
it had to happen like it didn't just happen this offseason.
It had to happen sometime last season when they just
started to believe, when all of a sudden they were like, man,
we thought we were good. Champayton kept telling us we were
gonna be good, but now we know we were gonna good.
Maybe it's in sometime during that four game winning streak
(30:23):
in the second half of the season, you know what
I mean, when they beat Atlanta, Vegas, Cleveland, Indianapolis. Maybe
somewhere in there they were like, or do you think
it's even before the nd the House, the Raiders or something,
they were like, you know what, we are a good team.
We do believe we're a good team. I don't think
there's anybody on that Broncos team that doesn't think they
are or could do it all, win it all, all
(30:43):
that kind of good stuff. I don't know, but yeah,
it does.
Speaker 1 (30:46):
It does make me a little nervous.
Speaker 2 (30:48):
It does make me a little nervous that everybody's like,
Broncos gonna be great, Broncos.
Speaker 1 (30:51):
Is gonna be great.
Speaker 2 (30:52):
Cause listen, man, I trusted you Chuck lads last year
when he told me the Broncos was gonna be bad.
Speaker 1 (30:56):
I guess what they.
Speaker 2 (30:57):
Were not, So hopefully you're you're more correct this year
than you were last. But either way, it's it's it's
good times to be part of Broncos Country.

not want this. I don't want people to think when
(31:42):
I say this that I want mos You're dead. I
don't want people to think Burdo is out here hoping
that Mark Moser gets attacked by a grizzly bear and
maul to death. But I would appreciate the listen people,
did you see what happened with the sea cracking? They
(32:03):
John Hayden, one of the members of the Cracking and
their mascot were in Alaska with as a fan event.
They were up in Alaska. They were doing all this
kind of stuff, this outreach program or whatever. And that
their mascot which is named Booie. You've seen you've seen
the Crackings mascot booe Right, you know who I'm talking
about with it looks like a troll with the hair thing,
you know what I mean, Like one nothing like control troll,
(32:23):
but one of them trolls, like singing troll things.
Speaker 1 (32:25):
They were filming in.
Speaker 2 (32:27):
Alaska and this, like Nelson, look at the video, bro,
bring up the video. This massive black bear charges John
Hayden and Bowie like they were like, he was like, ooh,
looking like a snack, I'm gonna come get me. And
the it veered off at the last moment, but you
like that he was coming straight at the mascot. Man,
(32:48):
I don't know who that dude was in that costume,
but he almost got eight He almost got eight up.
And I'm just saying, if the AVS could get a
camera and put Mark Moser you're a black bear or
a grizzly bear. There's a brown bear in Alaska that
went after Bowie. But man, that video is scary as hell.
You can see the poor mascot is doing mascot things.
(33:08):
He's like, dude, dude, to do I'm goofy mascot. And
then you could see him turn and see the bear
and the bear is like he's in a river.
Speaker 1 (33:16):
They're in a river. They're in a little river. Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah,
yeah yeah yeah.
Speaker 2 (33:19):
So that's John Hayden right there, and that's Bowie and
they're just they're filming this little thing, you know, fishing
in the river here, just like yeah, everything's.
Speaker 1 (33:26):
Gonna be all right yeah, And then oh no, what
is that? What is that?
Speaker 2 (33:31):
And then so hayten at his back to the bear
and they're like, yo, there's a bear right behind you.
And then so look at this. Look at this bear
coming up massive? Tell me that is not a massive
bear in Nelson. And then Bowie, who is just sitting there,
is like what should I do? Should I run? See
look at Bowie?
Speaker 1 (33:46):
Look at Booe. He's like, should I run? Should I stay?
Look at it?
Speaker 2 (33:49):
Look at him?
Speaker 4 (33:50):
He doesn't want to break character.
Speaker 1 (33:54):
Charging at it.
Speaker 2 (33:54):
It's charging and he's like, oh no, okay, that's and
so right what do you think Moser does in that situation?
Speaker 1 (34:01):
If the avs are filming that and it's.
Speaker 2 (34:04):
Like Moses and Bernie and like Keefer or something, and
a brown bear that size is coming after you, Like
Hayden looked like he was fine.
Speaker 1 (34:15):
Here's what's crazy. The person who is taking the video,
the one who kept filming the.
Speaker 2 (34:21):
Black bear or the brown bear, is a lady who
is the Kraken Partnership marketing director named Melissa. And she said, well,
bears are everywhere here Brooke Falls, and this is their territory.
Speaker 1 (34:33):
They're also super.
Speaker 2 (34:34):
Used to seeing humans. So I wasn't scared. No, yes,
yes you were, Yes, you were right. You can't have
a bear. Look at the size of that thing. Look
at the size of that thing. That's one bite. You're gaune,
you're gaune.
Speaker 1 (34:46):
But yeah, look at Booie. This is the best part
where Booie's like, is that a bear?
Speaker 2 (34:50):
And then the bear charges and then a bear because
the watch here's the bear comes running. Can you imagine
that's Moser. Let's get that right there with the blue
hair and the stupid No, that's Moser.
Speaker 1 (35:02):
Wait he is eight, right, he is eight.
Speaker 2 (35:06):
Also, don't feed your NHL players to a to a
brown bear on a promotional tour.
Speaker 1 (35:11):
Don't do it, right, That seems like a bad way
to run your franchise.
Speaker 2 (35:14):
I mean, can you imagine that HR call today where
they're like, Yo, why are you putting our players in
front of wild bears?
Speaker 1 (35:22):
Don't like, don't do that, man, we need that guy
next season.
Speaker 2 (35:26):
But either way that when I saw that video, I
was like, right, booie is lucky to be alive. Man,
lucky to be alive. Like, unless he's one of those
guys who thinks he could fight a bear and win.
Isn't there some percentage of there's like thirty percent of
men who are like, yeah, I thought I could beat
a bear. I got a punch of bear directly in
the in the in the chest.
Speaker 1 (35:44):
To be fine.
Speaker 4 (35:44):
That sounds like he's going that men would believe that
sounds about right.
Speaker 1 (35:48):
So either way, that look at man and he he's
looking back like right, this is it, this is it.
Speaker 2 (35:53):
He's he is saying goodbye. He's probably setting up a
prayer to the Good Lord.
Speaker 1 (35:57):
Right there. That is a massive, massive bear. It's crazy nothing.
Speaker 2 (36:02):
Yeah, we had his back to the bear and the
and the persons who was recording, started going, but look
behind you, behind.
Speaker 1 (36:09):
You, all right? Anyway, good times. So we got a
whole slew of.
Speaker 2 (36:15):
NHL or an excuse me an FL preseason games starting
to night, starting to night.
Speaker 1 (36:20):
We got three games tonight on the UH on the preseason.
Speaker 2 (36:25):
Docket, and I will tell you that although there are
there are some interesting games tonight, including the Raiders are
playing the Seahawks. Will be fun to see exactly what
Carol's trying to do there. And in Vegas, the Bengals
and Eagles play tonight and the Colts are at the Ravens.
But let me tell you what I'm gonna be doing
(36:48):
this the next three days, because we had nothing but
preseason football over the next four days actually Thursday, Friday, Saturday,
and Sunday they'll be preseason games. So let me tell
you what I'm locked into. And we're gonna get into
this with VIC and because maybe the most interesting preseason
game outside of what you want to see from the
Broncos is what's happening in Cleveland. Because Friday night, the
(37:10):
Browns are in Carolina taken on the Panthers. Stir Sanders,
who was listed as fourth on the depth chart we'll
get the start. And that's because everybody is hurt. Everybody
is banged up, and so Chador is going to get
a chance. But I don't know if it is an
actual chance. This is the craziest This might be the
craziest reporting I've heard from camp so far.
Speaker 1 (37:32):
So CBS has a as a reporter.
Speaker 2 (37:35):
In Cleveland who's been following the team the entire time,
and he he had some interesting comments about the quarterback
battle in Cleveland, and I want to give it to you. Obviously,
he said, Chador has outperformed Dylan Gabriel had a real
bad start to the summer and the off season training
(37:56):
program and then the start of camp, but then he
started to come around.
Speaker 1 (38:00):
Then he got hurt.
Speaker 2 (38:01):
So Shadur has played better than the quarterback taken in
front of him to two rounds ahead of him. But
the reporter said this, and I quote this is a
crazy quote when when when he was talking about what
Shadur has to do in this preseason game to clinch
that job, and the reporter who's been covering the team
(38:23):
says this quote, he has to have the greatest preseason
game in preseason football history to kind of change the
perception of the Browns coaches.
Speaker 1 (38:33):
Damn, man, that's harsh. That that is harsh. What I mean,
I guess welcome to the NFL.
Speaker 2 (38:38):
So he the reporter says, he doesn't have to have it,
He doesn't have to have a good game. He has
to have a great game to change the minds there
in Cleveland. But if at that point, if he knows
he has to have a great preseason game, then he's pressing, right,
He's pressing the whole game.
Speaker 1 (38:53):
That's gonna be tough for Shardoor. He's said that.
Speaker 2 (38:57):
This reporter in Cleveland said he thinks that even if
Shador has a great game, the coaches in Cleveland still
might be like man about him. But maybe he wins
over the team. The coaches still might night might not
might not like what they're seeing. But if you go
(39:18):
out there and win, you have to appreciate it, right
or they just think, y'all man would pick it is healthy.
When Gabriel is healthy, they're gonna be a better option
than Shador.
Speaker 1 (39:27):
But that is.
Speaker 2 (39:28):
Incredibly hard where they're like, he has to have the
greatest preseason game in the history of preseason football to
change the minds there of the coaches in Cleveland.
Speaker 1 (39:36):
Yikes, man, that is.
Speaker 2 (39:40):
I mean, that's a big ask, but whatever, I guess
you gotta get it done. But I guess the reporter
was suggesting that if Shador could win the trust of
his teammates, then it doesn't matter what the coaches say,
because at that point then you then then then then
the coaches understand that well, he's won. He's won his
teammates over everybody. This team wants him to be the
starting quarterback. And if we want Flacco or pick It instead,
(40:06):
then there might be some issues.
Speaker 1 (40:07):
In the locker room. I don't know. I don't know.
Speaker 2 (40:08):
I I once again, I think Chador is in a bad, bad,
bad spot. Like it was interesting to hear that Chador
has been playing like he's been more accurate than most
of those quarterback He's been more accurate than than Gabriel
in practice. But you know what, but you know what,
that's earned him nothing. It's it's just earned him more
(40:31):
reps with the third and four stringers.
Speaker 1 (40:34):
So I mean, yeah, so.
Speaker 2 (40:35):
Good luck could go off this weekend and it still
might not mean anything for Cleveland. I don't know, man,
it might be easier if if Cleveland just moved on
from Shador. I have no idea what the Browns were
thinking when it comes to their quarterback position. I have
no idea. How are we going to see Shador for
a half a full half? We see him for three quarters? Right,
(40:57):
because you got Huntley in Shador and that's it because
you're not playing Flacco and the other two are hurt.
Speaker 1 (41:02):
So that might you might get a lot.
Speaker 2 (41:03):
Of playing time for from from Shoodoor. So I mean, yeah,
we're all locked. That's that's I'm locked into that precisons game.
Speaker 3 (41:10):
Man.
Speaker 2 (41:10):
That actually might be fun to see what's happening tomorrow
night there between the Browns and the Panthers. On Saturday,
I'm gonna watch JJ McCarthy and the Vikes play the Texans.
I mean, JJ McCarthy has to have a massive amount
of pressure on his shoulders. He just has to, because
(41:30):
guess what that team that you know, what the expectations
are of the Minnesota.
Speaker 1 (41:34):
Vikings super Bowl Baby, super Bowl.
Speaker 2 (41:37):
So and then they're like, hey, hey, hey there, JJ,
guess what you got to lead this team to a
super Bowl in your first.
Speaker 1 (41:46):
Year at coming off an injury? Good luck? Go ahead,
go crazy, go crazy. Let's see what happens.
Speaker 2 (41:51):
So I mean, I'm definitely tuning in to see how
JJ looks in uh in their first game as the
Vikings play on and on Saturday as they host the
Houston Texans there at the US Banks Stadium. So yeah,
gotta see what JJ's doing. I gotta watch Saturday night.
(42:12):
I gotta see Travis Hunter as the Jags and Steelers
go out. I already mentioned that Aaron Rodgers told Tomlin like, yeah,
if you want me to play, I'll play.
Speaker 1 (42:19):
I'll play.
Speaker 2 (42:19):
You want me to start this preseason game. I haven't
started a preseason game since like twenty twenty one, twenty two.
Speaker 1 (42:24):
Something like that. But I'll do it. I'll go if
you want me to.
Speaker 2 (42:27):
Butcause one of their they've got four quarterbacks on the roster,
but Will Howard is hurt, So if Aaron doesn't go,
they'd have to split this game between Mason Rudolph.
Speaker 1 (42:37):
And Skyler Thompson.
Speaker 2 (42:38):
I don't know if they want to do that, So
maybe they give. Maybe they actually like, yeah, Aaron, go
out there and play a series or two, see what's up.
Speaker 1 (42:44):
Or maybe yeah.
Speaker 2 (42:45):
I mean, Tomlin doesn't seem like the kind of guy
he's gonna be messing with that stuff, just like, Yo, Mason,
go on out there, Skyler. You get the second half
and that and we and we move on and everything's happy.
Speaker 1 (42:55):
But I'm not watching that game.
Speaker 2 (42:56):
Well I'm not really watching that game for the quarterback
position to Pittsburgh Steelers.
Speaker 1 (43:01):
I'm watching that game because of Travis Hunter.
Speaker 4 (43:03):
Right.
Speaker 2 (43:03):
I am so excited to see what travkin doing. There
are a lot of doubters out there. I mean DeVante
Adams came out doubting like he was just like, I
don't know if it's physically possible to do what Travis
is going to try to do this season. And Travis,
they had an interesting long interview with Travis just last week,
just this week out there at Jack's camp, where he
was talking about how they're splitting his practice reps between
(43:27):
both sides of the.
Speaker 1 (43:27):
Ball and dog.
Speaker 2 (43:31):
Like Travis might not want to play both sides of
the ball because it takes up his whole day. They're
breaking down his schedule, His schedule is crazy. Like they're
doing it different he said, than what how they did it?
See you at see You, he would practice on both
sides of the ball in a single day and in Jacksonville.
They're having him practice with one unit every day, but
(43:51):
then when that unit goes to check out Phil, when
they go to special teams, then Travis goes to So
if he's working on the offense, when they go special teams,
goes to the defense, And the very next day he'll
start with the defense, and when they go to special teams,
he'll move over to the offense. Like he is putting
in a massive amount of work to try to do
something that people just don't do. And that's played both
(44:13):
offense and defense in this league. And it was the
depth chart was really interesting because they have him as
a starting wide receiver on the depth chart, but a
backup corner. So they're going, I mean, he's gonna be
all over the field in this game, right, unless they just.
Speaker 1 (44:28):
Try to slow.
Speaker 2 (44:30):
Roll it with Saturday or they're just like, all right, Travis, here,
we're gonna go. You gonna play so many snaps on
this Saturday night against the Steelers.
Speaker 1 (44:37):
But I'm locked in. I'm locked in, right, I mean,
you gotta be. Travis Hunter is one of the.
Speaker 2 (44:41):
Most exciting football players we've seen in a long time,
and he's been making some crazy wild catches at camp.
Speaker 1 (44:46):
He's some of those sketches he's been coming down with.
So yeah, I'm here for it. I'm here for it.
I'm watching that.
Speaker 2 (44:51):
