Speaker 1 (00:04):
Hello, beautiful souls. I'm Carrie Sharp and welcome back to
Slow Beauty, Skincare and self Care for Women over forty.
Today's episode is all about something wonderfully simple, a two
minute ritual that can help you feel beautiful, grounded, and
cared for every single day. If your days feel rushed,
if your routines feel complicated, if you sometimes look in

(00:26):
the mirror and feel disconnected from yourself, this gentle ritual
is for you. Beauty doesn't need to be long or perfect.
It just needs a moment let's begin. So many of
us have been told that beauty requires a long list
of steps, expensive routines, or time we don't have. But
the truth is your skin responds more to consistency than complexity,

(00:51):
and your spirit responds more to presents than perfection. There
was a morning not too long ago when I was rushing,
trying to move quickly, trying to do everything at well.
Once I glanced in the mirror and thought, I don't
even feel like myself today, not because of lines or
texture or age, but because I hadn't given myself even
a moment to land in my own body. That's when

(01:13):
I started exploring tiny two minute rituals, little pockets of
calm that helped me feel beautiful again, simply because I
felt present two minutes. May not seem like much, but
here's the beautiful thing. A small ritual calms your nervous system.
It reduces cortisol, which improves your skin. It builds consistency
without overwhelm and it reconnects you with your sense of self.

(01:35):
When we're over forty, our skin changes, but so does
our capacity. We're tired, busy, pulled in many directions. Small
rituals help us come home to ourselves, and that shows
on the skin more than any product ever could. Here's
one of my favorite rituals. Simple soothing and perfect for

(01:55):
mature skin. The warm cloth plus gentle oil ritual. You'll
need a warm wash cloth, a few drops of jojoba
rose hip, or a gentle facial oil. Step one, Warm
the cloth and press it gently onto your face. Hold
it there for fifteen to twenty seconds. Feel your shoulders soften.

(02:17):
Step two, Take one slow, deep breath, let it settle you.
Step three, with your skin still warm and slightly damp,
massage a few drops of oil into your face in
slow circles, especially around areas that hold tension. Step four
whisper something kind to yourself. I'm allowed to slow down,

(02:39):
or my beauty grows with peace. This entire ritual takes
two minutes, but the way it makes you feel lasts
much longer. Warmth brings circulation, oil brings glow, Kindness brings confidence.
It's simple, but it's deeply nourishing. There's a verse that
fits this ritual, So beautifully be still and know that

(03:00):
I am God, Psalm forty six to ten. Stillness doesn't
have to look like a long prayer session or a
quiet hour. Sometimes it looks like a warm cloth on
your face, a deep breath, a softened heart, a moment
where God meets you in the quiet. Beauty grows in stillness,
and you are allowed to have that stillness, even if
it's just two minutes. As you practice this ritual, you

(03:23):
might notice a few things. Your breathing slows, your voice
inside becomes kinder, your skin looks a little softer. You
feel more like you. These small rituals don't just nourish
your complexion, They nourish the woman beneath it. If you'd
like to explore more, gentle skincare and soul care rhythms.

radiance growing in you, one gentle moment at a time.
