Speaker 1 (00:04):
Hello everyone, and welcome to another episode of our podcast Plants, Flowers,
Oils and Whimsy. I'm Carrie Sharf. Today we're exploring one
of my very favorite things, cozy Sense. These are the
fragrances that instantly make your space feel like a hug,
transforming your home into a sanctuary of warmth, comfort, and ease.
Let's settle in and enjoy the journey. Today we're talking

(00:28):
about one of my very favorite things, cozy Sense. You know,
those fragrances that instantly make your space feel like a hug.
That's what we're leaning into today, how certain scents can
turn your home into a sanctuary of warmth, comfort, and ease.
Think back with me for a moment. Do you remember
walking into your grandmother's kitchen during the holidays. Maybe it

(00:49):
was the smell of cinnamon rolls just coming out of
the oven, or the savory aroma of sage and roasted
turkey on Thanksgiving. Those scents didn't just fill the air,
they wrapped us in feelings of love, belonging, and warmth.
Even now, when you catch a whiff of cinnamon or clove,
doesn't it bring those memories rushing back. That's the magic

(01:11):
of cozy sense. They connect us with moments that made
us feel safe and cared for. And coziness isn't just
for chilly winter evenings, though it fits beautifully there. We
can create comfort in our homes all year round. Cozy,
after all, is more about feeling than weather. It's about
creating an atmosphere where you can exhale, unwind, and truly

(01:31):
feel at home. So what makes the scent cozy? It's personal.
It might be a fragrance that stirs up cherished memories,
or simply something that helps you relax and slow down.
Cozy sense create ambiance, wrap your space and warmth, and
invite you to settle in. Here are some of my
favorite ways to bring cozy sense into your home. Essential oil,

(01:54):
reed diffusers, a simple jar, some reed sticks, a carrier oil,
and your face favorite essential oils is all you need.
The reeds slowly release fragrance, keeping your space gently scented
all day. Scented candles nothing beats the soft glow and
inviting aroma of a candle. Vanilla, cinnamon, lavender, or cedar

(02:15):
wood each bring their own kind of comfort. Simmer potpourri
on the stove, add lemon slices rosemary, cloves and a
splash of vanilla to a pot of water and let
it simmer. The scent drifts through your home like a
warm hug. You can even pour the cooled water into
a spray bottle and use it as a natural room
spray scented sachets. Tuck them into drawers, closets, or between

(02:39):
linens for a subtle, lingering fragrance. Diy linen spray in
a small spray bottle. Mix a tablespoon of witch hazel
or alcohol with about twenty four drops of essential oil.
Then fill the rest with water missed on bedding, curtains
or upholstery for an instant cozy lift. Aromatic plants and
fragrant flowers. Rush flowers and greenery do more than smell lovely.

(03:02):
They brighten your mood, reduce stress, and connect you with nature.
Yellow and orange flowers evoke energy and happiness, while tending
to plants encourages mindfulness and presence. Baking and cooking few
things feel cozier than the scent of bread, baking or
dinner simmering. Sharing those meals with loved ones adds another
layer of warmth. Wax melts and warmers perfect for a

(03:25):
flame free option. They're smaller, less messy, and you don't
have to worry about glass containers breaking Incense sticks. Incense
offers a calming, warming aroma with so many fragrance options
and beautiful holders. They're both aromatic and decorative. Now let's
talk about cozy essential oils. My absolute favorites for creating
warmth and comfort in your home. Vanilla sensual, exotic and alluring,

(03:50):
Lavender soothing, calming and reassuring, Cinnamon fiery, energizing and strengthening,
cedar wood relaxing, grounding and comforting of frank and scent rejuvenating, meditative,
and harmonizing, sandal wood nurturing, warming and comforting, Orange uplifting,
refreshing and balancing, Ginger comforting, warming, and strengthening, Bergamot refreshing,

(04:14):
euphoric and nurturing, Elangulang sensual, soothing and exotic, Petuli grounding,
mysterious and opening, camomeal soothing, soft, and strengthening. Each of
these oils brings its own magic, filling your home with
an atmosphere of coziness. And here are some of my

(05:45):
Cozy scents are such a simple, beautiful way to shift
the energy of your home. They remind us that comfort
doesn't have to be complicated. It can be as simple
as lighting a candle, simmering herbs, or misting your favorite
essential oil blend. Make a deep breath, let your home
envelop you in warmth, and savor the feeling of coziness
every day. Want more cozy rituals, diy recipes and inspiration
