Speaker 1 (00:04):
Hello everyone, and welcome to another episode of our podcast
Slow Beauty, Skincare and Self Care for Women forty plus.
I'm your host, and today we're taking a moment to
slow down. During this busy Christmas season, with all the
hustle and bustle, it's essential to carve out a few
moments for ourselves. In this episode, we're going to explore
a simple three minute ritual that includes skincare, scripture, and

(00:25):
self care. So grab a cup of tea, get comfy,
and let's get started. First, let's talk about the importance
of choosing the right product for this ritual. Whether it's
a rich cream, a soothing balm, or a gentle lotion,
what matters most is that it feels comforting and warm
on your skin. Imagine taking just a minute to slowly

(00:46):
massage it into your hands or gently across your face.
This isn't about fixing, it's about receiving. Remember the words,
I don't have to rush to be ready. Feel the
warmth of the product as it melts into your skin,
and let your body soften with each stroke. Take this
time to truly be present and appreciate the moment. Next,

(01:08):
let's bring a touch of spirituality into our self care
with a scripture reading to soothe both your skin and soul.
Today's scripture is from Matthew chapter one, verse twenty three.
It says they shall call his name Emmanuel poontueyda, which
means God with us. This beautiful verse is a reminder
of the true meaning of Christmas that God is with us,
not just in the joyous moments, but also in the messy, exhausting,

(01:31):
and ordinary ones. In all of our experiences, God is
there providing comfort and reassurance. So as you go through
this holiday season, remember that you are never alone. God's
presence is with you, wrapping you in a blanket of
love and peace, guiding you through every moment. Take comfort
in knowing that God with us is a promise that

(01:52):
stands strong no matter the circumstance. Now, as we move
into our self care practice for today, I invite you
to create a serene space. If you have a candle nearby,
go ahead and light it now. If you don't, simply
close your eyes and picture the warm, soothing glow of
a candle in your mind's eye. Place one hand gently
over your heart and take a deep, slow breath in

(02:15):
and out. Feel your heart beat, feel the rise and
fall of your chest, and let yourself be in this
very moment with your hands still over your heart. Consider
the prompt this Christmas, I want to notice. Let whatever
thoughts come up fill your mind. Take a few moments

(02:36):
here to reflect on your own answer. Remember that whatever
comes to you is perfectly enough. There's no right or
wrong answer here, just a gentle guiding of your thoughts
towards a mindful intention for the holiday season. As we
wrap up today's episode, let's recap the key points. We
talked about the importance of slowing down, how to use
skincare as a moment of self care, and we even

(02:56):
brought in a touch of scripture to remind us of
the deeper meaning behind this season. The message we want
to leave you with today is that God is with you,
right here, right now, in all the chaos and excitement
of the holiday season. Remember to let your inner glow
come from being held in His presence, not from striving
to do more. We wish you a merry Christmas filled

(03:16):
with peace and joy. Don't forget to join our newsletter

take it slow and glow until next time.
