with Jordan Yate's very very funny man. Jordan. Where are
you from, sir?
Speaker 1 (00:20):
Hey, I'm from Well, I'm from Dallas, Texas originally, although
I stay in the Austin area now.
Speaker 2 (00:25):
Yeah, Austin's kind of become a centralized hub for comedy
in the world, hasn't it.
Speaker 1 (00:29):
Yeah, in a lot of ways, as I don't know that.
I don't know that it is a full expression of
all types of comedy nowadays. But I do think it's
a really great place for comics to have a good
opportunity to you know, really work out their stuff, get
the reps in. And it's also, you know, a good
(00:51):
place as a road comic myself. It's not bad being
in the middle of the country every time I have
to drive somewhere.
Speaker 2 (00:57):
Absolutely, and you're going to be driving somewhere later this month.
We're excited to have you join us in soup fall
South Dakota. You've got a couple of shows here. You've
got one on the twenty first and another one on
the twenty second. And is this your first time in
South Dakota.
Speaker 1 (01:10):
No, this is I actually just did a run in
South Dakota this past summer in July twenty twenty five.
I went through Shoe Falls. Actually had a great time
out there, really enjoyed the break from the Texas heat
for a minute.
Speaker 2 (01:25):
Yeah, you got some South Dakota heat instead. It's a
whole different kind of.
Speaker 1 (01:28):
Heat, right, Well, I don't know. I tell you what.
South Dakota is the only place I've ever had to
buy a sweater in the middle of julye.
Speaker 2 (01:36):
Oh yeah, it was. It was a weird year this year.
We had rain and we had colder weather. So yeah,
I'm sorry that that's what you got. Usually it's really
hot and very humid, so you got a different taste
of our summers than normal.
Speaker 1 (01:48):
Well, I'll tell you what I did learn is while
I was there in South Dakota. You know, I realized
that what I thought was green in Texas is actually
just various shades of brown.
Speaker 2 (01:59):
Oh yeah, yeah, it's definitely green. Here, isn't it?
Speaker 1 (02:02):
Oh yeah, it's beautiful. Golly, it's a beautiful state.
Speaker 2 (02:05):
Now, when you were driving through, did anybody tell you
about a thing called chis lick? Did you try any
of that while you were here?
Speaker 1 (02:11):
Hit lick?
Speaker 2 (02:12):
No, chis lick c h I s lic. It's like
our state food. And I didn't know that it wasn't it.
I grew up in South Dakota. I thought it was everywhere,
and then I moved to Iowa. I went to a bar,
and every bar here has chislick, and I go, do
you guys have chis lick? They're like, what the heck
is that? So even Iowa, which is right next door
to us, they had never heard of it. So when
(02:32):
you're here.
Speaker 1 (02:33):
Yeah, thats like, yeah, sounds like a slur, Yeah it does.
Speaker 2 (02:38):
Oh he he's acting like a chislick. No, No, it's
a good thing. It's really good. It's little pieces of
meat that are cut up and deep fried and seasoned.
And when you're here, I absolutely positively need to make
sure you have some chislick because you're going to leave
a changed man, and maybe you can get out and
spread the chis lick gospel to the rest of the World.
Speaker 1 (02:56):
Okay, deal, I'm all about it. I am. I'm on
the chi dude.
Speaker 2 (03:00):
Well, I'm excited I get to work with you a
little bit on the twenty first, You've got an early show,
and then I believe you're going to be a part
of the show that we're doing a little bit later
that day as well, And we're going to have a
show at the same venue that you're going to be
in on the twenty second. It's in the Ramata Conference Center,
and there's a place called Boston's Pizza, like the city
(03:21):
out there in Massachusetts, Boston's, So Boston's Pizza and the
Ramada Conference Center hosting your show and our show. So
we're going to be there the night before. You're going
to be there the night after, and I was told
that you're going to maybe sneak in and give us
a little taste of what's to come for your full
show the next day, which I think is gonna be awesome.
Speaker 1 (03:39):
Yeah. Absolutely, So I will be at the Glacial Lakes
Distillery on Friday, but we are going to run straight
to your show right afterwards, then try to make a
little guest appearance there at the Boston's Pizza that you
mentioned at the Ramada Conference Center. Yeah, and then I
will be there during my full hour the next night
(04:00):
on the twenty second.
Speaker 2 (04:01):
I'm excited for that. I think it's going to be
really cool and thank you for doing what you do
getting out and I think we need more people laughing
right now more than ever. It's just, you know, you
go on social media, it's supposed to be fun, it's
supposed to be lighthearted, and people are like so hateful
and mean to each other, and I'm like, guys, just
stop it. We need everybody to get together, whether you're
on the right or on the left, or don't care
(04:23):
about politics at all, just sit down, have a drink
and laugh your butt off.
Speaker 1 (04:27):
Yes, absolutely, I'm a big believer that, you know, as comedians,
our job, above everything else is to send people home
feeling good. You know, people work hard in this country.
Whoever you are, people work hard. They've got families and
all sorts of things that stress them out. And I
want to just, you know, have people have a chance
to you know, enjoy themselves. Forget all about that for
(04:49):
a little while, take a couple of take a couple
of trips to their hard doctor off the calendar, you know, yeah,
getting good.
Speaker 2 (04:59):
Laughed in absolutely and we've got tickets available right now
for your shows. And I'm going to make it really
easy for folks to find that there's a comedy calendar.
If you go to Sue Fallscomedy dot com, there's a
link there that'll take it to you or take you
to it. Or you can go to Facebook dot com
slash Sue Falls Comedy and you'll find the link. It's
one of the pinned posts and you'll see a link
(05:19):
to get tickets for his show. And again both of
the shows that you're going to be doing here. And
folks that are fans of the kill Tony podcast, they
might have seen you on the kill Tony podcast a
time or two.
Speaker 1 (05:31):
Right, Yes, I was on Kill Tony episode seven with
Fluffy and Tavolcano and that was a great time. So yeah,
you guys want to see some more of me, have
an idea of what I'm all about before you come
out to the show. You can always check that out
or just look camp on the me and my social
medias that Jordan just jokes.
Speaker 2 (05:51):
Well, the fun thing is there are a lot of
people all over the place that are fans of that
so you probably already have some fans before you even
show up in town, and now they'll get a chance
to come. You know, on that show, you only have
a little bit of time, so then come and actually
watch a whole hour. And I think that's the coolest
thing about that is you're introduced to a whole bunch
of comics just a little bit, but then when they
(06:12):
come to your community, you get to come out and
see all of it.
Speaker 1 (06:14):
Yeah. Yeah, it's you know what that is? That is
so true. It's it's like I've kind of gone to
drop a trailer. Yeah for what I'm about.
Speaker 2 (06:23):
Absolutely well, I'm excited to have you in town. Thank
you so much for your time. Think and again, I
will see you in It's a couple of weeks now, Yes,
it will be.
Speaker 1 (06:31):
It'll be yet just a couple of weeks now. We'll
be up there on belly two weeks from now, I
guess when we're recording this.
Speaker 2 (06:37):
Yeah, and again, if you want to come out Jordan Yates,
he'll be here on the twenty first of November and
the twenty second of November in Sue Falls, And you
can find tickets to his show if you go to
the comedy calendar at Facebook dot com, Slash Sue Falls comedy.
Speaker 1 (06:52):
