And this is a very fun event. It's been going
on for many years and it is a very fun
event to go to, isn't it.

It is very fun. It is always interesting. We always
have fun games, lots of great auction items.
Speaker 1 (00:34):
It's really neat and some of the things that are donating.
A big thank you to everybody that donates things, some
really cool stuff that's donated because they know the money
from this goes to a really good cause, doesn't it.
Speaker 2 (00:43):
It goes to the best cause we It goes to
our Certoma Legacy All Abilities.
Speaker 1 (00:48):
Park and that's at Sirtoma Park, which you know is
named for Sirtoma Club and that park has been around
a while. The Certoma Club has been around a while,
and you're the current president. Are you the first female
president they've ever had?
Speaker 2 (01:00):
I am the first female president in ninety five years.
Speaker 1 (01:02):
How cool is that? Was that like kind of exciting
to be the first female president or are you a
little nervous?
Speaker 2 (01:09):
Excited and nervous. Yes, I'm really excited to be leading
such a prestigious club or a club has been around
for so long.
Speaker 1 (01:16):
It's great and it's a great group of people, and
you guys do some wonderful things. And throughout the year
there's a bunch of different things you do. But the
thing that's coming up this Friday sir Toomo Fest. This
is a fundraiser, so it is a fundraiser, but is
a fun fundraiser too. So even if you're not a member.
Speaker 2 (01:30):
You can go to this right anybody can go.
Speaker 1 (01:32):
So if you're saying, hey, I don't have plans on Friday,
I want to go hang out and hear a band
play and you know, bid on some things and eat
some good food and maybe end up with some really
neat stuff from the auction, this would be a great
friday to go out and do that. And oh, by
the way, there's some beer involved because on some brochures
it says Sirtoma Fest. Others it says Sirtoma Beer Fest.
I think it's all kind of the same thing, though,
isn't it.
Speaker 2 (01:51):
It is all the same thing. We have four flights
of beers from two different breweries. Our Certoma Club is
bringing out their smoker nice put it in your mouth,
providing our appetizers and our side dishes, and then Baking
Up a Storm is providing a delicious dessert that is awesome.
Speaker 1 (02:08):
And then there's a real fun band that plays that
they do a great job every year they do and
you guys get stuck with me as an.
Speaker 2 (02:14):
MC, So it's going to be great. We're looking forward
to it.
Speaker 1 (02:19):
It's something I look forward to every year, and I
didn't get to do it one year because I had
another event that we had already been booked, and I
was so bummed out. I'm like, this is my favorite
thing of the year and I don't get to be there.
So I was so excited that I was able to
block it off early enough to come out. And folks,
if you are looking for something fun to do on Friday,
first of all, you can't meet a better group of people.
Sirtoma Club awesome people. Service to mankind is what that
(02:42):
stands for. And what are some of the other things
you guys do, Because it's a fundraiser, but what are
some of these funds go to. In addition to the park,
you do a lot of great things.
Speaker 2 (02:49):
Throughout the year. So throughout the community, we do all
of the hearing testing in the elementary schools, so that's
over nine thousand kids that we hear and test. We
also have our Children's Christmas Party where we bring in
lots of the special news kids in the area and
we have Santa Claus and we take their picture and
we have a pizza party for them.
Speaker 1 (03:09):
That's awesome.
Speaker 2 (03:10):
We also provide funds for hearing aids for both adults
and kids. Nice. If you have a need and we
have a way to help, we provide it.
Speaker 1 (03:18):
And like I said, I'm sure you've heard of Sirtoma
Park because that is something that you guys did, and
just many other things in the community that have the
name Sirtoma attached to it. Because you've been doing this.
Speaker 2 (03:28):
For a while, that is true, long time Sirtaoma Park,
sir Tooma Avenue.
Speaker 1 (03:34):
Yeah, and the neat thing is there's a new piece
of the park that's going to be coming soon. Part
of that is from fundraisers like the one on Friday,
the All Abilities Park at Sirtoma Park. And I love
the new brochures that have like here's what it's going
to look like. It's really cool.
Speaker 2 (03:50):
We're really excited about it. We can't wait to play.
To provide a place where kids of all abilities can
play together, it'll be challenging for all abilities. Everybody will
find something fun to do there and it will be
accessible for everybody.
Speaker 1 (04:05):
And the thing that's neat Sirtoma Park is really a
hub in this community. So many events that happen there.
They'll do fundraisers, they'll host their event at Sirtoma Park.
So even just thinking about that, you're giving these people
a place to host their fundraisers for their other local nonprofits.
So again, the different things that Sertoma Club has done
for this community are wonderful. So thank you for doing
what you're doing leading the charge right now.
