me on the telephone right now. Carl Jenetto is a
very funny stand up comic from Iowa. Carl is going
to be in the area. Carl, Welcome back to the

(00:23):
Sioux Falls area.

Speaker 1 (00:24):
Super happy to be back on with you. John.

Speaker 2 (00:26):
Yeah, you were here not too long ago, and folks
had a really good time. So tonight you're at the
Taco Vault in Worthing, which is a really fun place.
I've been there. They do the shows. You go down
some steers in the basement. It almost feels like you're
going into like a speakeasy, like this hidden little basement,
and there's a fun stage in the corner and it's
a really nice setup for a comedy show. Now for
folks that maybe have not had a chance to see you, Carl,

(00:49):
how do you describe your sense of humor in the comedy?
If you don't do it Tonight at worthing.

Speaker 1 (00:53):
Oh, man, how would I describe it? I just try
to make people laugh. Man, I don't uh, that's all
I did it for. I've just said it for the
last you know, I talk to people. I'm pretty conversational,
I would say, I talk about I talk about my wife.
I tell stories about like like I just recently moved
out of my parents' basement.

Speaker 2 (01:13):
Oh nice, that's cool.

Speaker 1 (01:15):
Yeah, I got a room up I got a room upstairs.

Speaker 2 (01:17):
Now, well there you go. That's good. So now you
are a pretty young man. How how young are you?
What is your age? Carl.

Speaker 1 (01:30):
So it's the last time I've talked to you, John,
I had a birthday. I am now twenty nine.

Speaker 2 (01:34):
Holy cow, twenty nine years young. And the thing that's
really fun, this is something that you've been doing for
a bit, isn't it.

Speaker 1 (01:41):
Yeah. I started doing stand up when I was fourteen
years old, and next April will be my fifteenth year anniversary.

Speaker 2 (01:48):
I love that. That is so cool, And I love
it when somebody you know, there are a lot of
people out there, Carl that would love to do something,
but they just never take the initiative to go do it.
So I love the fact that now, not only is
this something you wanted to do, but it's something that
you actually did. You got on stage and you started
doing this. How old were you when you started? Fourteen?

Speaker 1 (02:07):
Fourteen?

Speaker 2 (02:08):
And you know, a fourteen year old kid. What does
a fourteen year old kid tell jokes about.

Speaker 1 (02:12):
I mean, I talked about my parents. I talked about school,
like one of the first jokes I ever wrote. And
it's funny you bring this up. I was just looking
through some of my old joke notes today from that time.
I had a joke where I said I was so
bad at maths my teacher gave me an s U

(02:35):
that's bad for fourteen.

Speaker 2 (02:36):
No, that's just funny. That's good. I love that, Carl.
That is fantastic.

Speaker 1 (02:41):
And you talked about being taken the initiative at fourteen.
It's really easy when you don't have any friends.

Speaker 2 (02:50):
It's like I've been talking to myself anyway, why not
do it in front.

Speaker 1 (02:53):
Of people exactly exactly.

Speaker 2 (02:56):
I love that. No, that is very cool. I'm excited
that you're going to be back in the area and again, Carl,
very funny young man. Going to be in Worthing, South
Dakota tonight, which is just south of Sioux Falls. So
if you're nuty air and you're like, I don't even
know where Worthing is, Well, if you get on the
Interstate and drive south, it's only like fifteen minutes south.
And the Taco Vault is really easy to find. When

(03:18):
you get to town in Worthing, just hit main Street
and you'll see the Taco Vault right there on Main Street. And,
like I said, the thing that's really neat. Have you
been in the building there yet, Carl, Have you seen
where you're going to be performing?

Speaker 1 (03:29):
No, I've seen pictures online and it seems super cool
and funky in there there.

Speaker 2 (03:33):
It is. It's neat. They've got it set up really
really nice. There's a little stage in the corner and
you'll be able to go down and enjoy this. And
if you want to take tacos from upstairs and bring
them down, you can do that, so you can have
dinner while you're doing this. And I think there's drinks
and all of that kind of stuff as well. But
they've got like a really fun little kind of comedy
club in the basement at the Taco Vault and Worthing

(03:54):
And do you know what it costs to get in tonight.
Is there a cover charge to get into the show?

Speaker 1 (03:59):
You ready for this?

Speaker 2 (04:00):
I'm ready?

Speaker 1 (04:01):
Free cover, free, holy cop cover.

Speaker 2 (04:05):
So it's have.

Speaker 1 (04:07):
A couple of beers, grab a couple of tacos. Yeah,
we'll hang it out. We'll hang out for about an hour.

Speaker 2 (04:11):
That sounds like a blast. So again, if you got
nothing better to do tonight, what else can you nothing's
going to beat free. That is a really good price
right there. Free, and I'll tell you what it is worth,
every penny and much much more. Carl.

Speaker 1 (04:24):
Thanks John, it's great to hear it. I appreciate that.
It's that kind of encouragement that keeps me going.

Speaker 2 (04:30):
Now I'm excited. I'm going to try to make it
to the show again. It's coming up tonight. What time
does everything get underway at the Taco Vault tonight? Eight o'clock, sir,
eight pm tonight. And I'm going to make sure I
throw a link to make it easy to find all
this information online as well. Carl, thank you so much
for letting me know you're back in the area again.
I'm excited to see you. It's going to be a
fun time tonight in Worthing.

Speaker 1 (04:50):
