on the phone right now. Brian is with Dell's Theater
in Dell Rapids, South Dakota, and the Dell's Theater rummage
sale and silent auction is tomorrow. This is a really
(00:24):
cool opportunity for people to buy some fun stuff and
they can buy posters and they can even buy costumes.
Is that right?
Speaker 1 (00:32):
That is correct? If I have some customs available that
have worn in the past for other movies and some
stuff I've acquired over the years.
Speaker 2 (00:38):
And this event is coming up tomorrow, and this is
going to be a really nice event. It starts at
eight am and it goes until noon, so you don't
have to be there the whole time, but if you
want to show up early, you have the best opportunity
to buy things. Right, that is correct.
Speaker 1 (00:51):
And we also have a fight on auction going from
ten to eleven, so that way, if you show up
eight am, and you kind of take a look at
the view that we have going on and show up
that live auction if you'd.
Speaker 2 (01:02):
Like, and silent auction for large character costumes, signed jerseys,
popcorn machine, all of that fun stuff during the ten
am to eleven am time. And during the event we
can buy popcorn too, right correct, yep, we will.
Speaker 1 (01:16):
Be available to sell confessions and our delicious plotcorn.
Speaker 2 (01:20):
That is awesome. And you're raising money right now to
go towards a new projector. And those things are not cheap,
are they?
Speaker 1 (01:26):
They are not cheap. No. I was quoted at forty
thousand dollars for nan A replacement.
Speaker 2 (01:31):
Conjectors Wowser's And I've had a chance to watch more
than my fair share of movies at the Dells Theater.
You have a really cool theater, by the way. I
love you guys do things a little different than some
of the other theaters, but it's it's my kind of different.
Speaker 1 (01:43):
Yeah, yeah, I appreciate that. Yeah, we like to have
fun air movie theater. People enjoy coming. We get people
from all over, you know, you know outside it's in falls,
you know, Harrisburgs Tale. But yeah, we see to keep
it light and fun and you know a lot of times,
you know you'll see me out front wearing a costume
for a premier of a movie.
Speaker 2 (02:01):
I love that. And again that's not something you see everywhere,
So I love that. You just put your heart and
soul into this, and this is just a really fun thing.
And here's an opportunity for people not just in Dell Rapids,
but from all around to come out and support this
in a big, big way tomorrow. If you want to
be there the entire time, you can eight am till noon,
but again from ten to eleven is the silent auction thing.
And if you get there early, you can get an
(02:22):
idea of what's on the silent auction and you have
the best selection for the posters and things like that.
And you, guys, how you do movies all the time?
You're open like all the time. It's kind of important
to have a projector to be able to do that,
isn't it exactly?
Speaker 1 (02:37):
We don't have a projector, yeah, we won't be open.
Speaker 2 (02:40):
So this is a really important thing, and this is
a great way for people to get behind something that's
just an amazing, amazing business in the Siu Empire. How
long have you been with Dell's Theater. You've been there
a little bit, haven't you.
Speaker 1 (02:51):
Yes, I've been there since twenty ten and a just
ownership in February of twenty twenty one.
Speaker 2 (02:58):
And this has been a gem in Dell Rapids for many,
many years. Do you know what you're the theater open there?
Speaker 1 (03:05):
Well, the theater was built in nineteen thirty eight.
Speaker 2 (03:08):
That is awesome, so been a movie to here ever since.
And again think of the movies over the course of
those years that have been on that screen. And when
I was in town on Saturday, I saw you were
doing the Senior. Is that still on the screen this
weekend as well?
Speaker 1 (03:23):
No, this weekend we will have Downton Abbey the grand finale.
Speaker 2 (03:26):
Oh, there you go, and there's a big fan base
for that. So see, folks, here you go. Come out
be a part of this and then stick around and
watch a movie. That'd be a great thing.
Speaker 1 (03:35):
Yeah it it's gonna be a good time.
Speaker 2 (03:37):
What are the show times on Saturday for Downton Abbey?
Speaker 1 (03:40):
Dalton Abby will be right through Monday at seven pm
and then Saturday we ever met Nade at four pm.
Speaker 2 (03:47):
Very nice. See, so you come out enjoy this the
Dell's Theater rummage sale and silent auction that goes up
till noon. Then you go have some lunch, maybe go bowling,
stick around town, and then come over and watch a
movie I got I got weekend playing. Now there you go. Well,
I appreciate you taking the time to chat, and I
wish you the very best. I hope you have a
ton of people show up and you're going to have
(04:07):
some great deals on these things. But folks, you can
give more. So if they've got something marked, you know,
ten bucks and you go, hey, here's fifty I want
to help. That would not hurt your feelings at all,
would it?
Speaker 1 (04:17):
No, not at all. Every little bit helps, and yeah
we do. We have a go fund me phage going
for those that want to donate that way, and also
the first National Bank in town. You'd drove up donations there.
But yeah, every little bit helps, and we appreciate everybody
that you know, we'll come and buy something you can donate.
Speaker 2 (04:33):
That is awesome, Brian, thank you for your time. I
appreciate it.
Speaker 1 (04:36):
Yes, thank you very much.
Speaker 2 (04:37):
