Hello everybody, and welcome to anotherepisode of the Chatroom. My name
is Kazaima chand It Bayer and yeah, I'm just so glad to have you
guys here with me today. Ihave a very special guest, a DJ

(00:43):
Tacos Forte. What's up, Maggie, how are you doing? I'm great,
man, I'm great man, gladto be on the show. Man.
Thank you for having me, Noproblem, man, And you see,
I know you've got something special instore for us at the end,
So listeners please do tune in becauseyeah, it's going to be a crazy
one. Man. But how areyou doing during this lockdown? Man?
Man? I'm great man. Youknow lockdown you know, as a DJ,

(01:07):
you know it allows you to youknow, you know, listen to
different things you know, also helpsyou learn other things. So I'm quite
I'm actually pretty glad that's here.Man. Oh all right, yeah that's
interesting. Dog, I'm not gladthat it's here, just to disclaimer,
but yeah it is. So man, I just want to ask you because
you know, most DJs try sohard to come up with clever names,

(01:32):
and my g your name is oneof those clear names. And I'm talking
about stage names, by the way, So please can you tell us why?
What was the stage name? DJmade her believe? Oh? Man,
Man, trust many people have beenasking me this question, man.
But the name was just, youknow, just the concept that I came

(01:53):
with based on you know, Ialways I was using three elements, you
know, that was me, thatwas the music, and the people listening
to the music. So I triedto, you know, combine everything and
while so basically made her believe. It was just in terms like people believe
in what I'm doing. Basically, then the her was just a catchy phrase.
You know, you know her,I'm a guy, So people be

(02:13):
like, but then what's the her? You know, you pull up and
you're trying to listen to actually understandbecause this only you know, so basically
that was just a combination. Thenyeah, I stuck with it, you
know, and you know, itseems to be you know, wearing a
lot of which which is dope,it catchy, very catchy and very smart.
Man. I've always wondered ever sinceI started following you and just wondering

(02:36):
why, you know, why DJmade her believe? But thank you for
shedding some light onto it, bro. And you know, being a DJ
is something that you know, inZimbabwe is a ray thing. I don't
know if that's the right phrase, but not a lot, not a lot
of people like strive to be DJ. So, Bro, you know what
inspired you to become a DJ?And what challenges have you faced, you

(02:57):
know in terms of I don't know, maybe feedback from close family members or
friends and stuff like that, like, yeah, yeah, can you just
tell us a little bit about that. So what's what happened? I started
on I was just just before myear levels and I was just going through
a phase, you know, likeyou know, things went as great financially

(03:21):
for the family name meeting. SoI just started listening to music, you
know, and it was just listeningto music then you know, I just
started playing around. The music madea couple of mixes. You started passing
them around to my friends, anda couple of people like, no,
your taste isn't actually pretty bad?You know. Then from there, you
know, I was like, youknow, this is actually something that I'm
doing without really you know, havingto actually sit down and be like,

(03:43):
yo, Doug, what's up?You know. So I then started,
you know, I continue doing it. Next thing, people hitting up for
gigs, you know, starting gettingpaid, you know. So I feel
like the journey, to be honest, it was it wasn't planned, you
know, it was just you know, so I was going through certain things.
Then you know, they lay meto because music for me, I
feel, music for me is theway you know, it holsted a lot

(04:04):
of emotions, you know what Imean. So with the family, with
the family, basically it was difficult, man, you know, especially especially
for me. Man. You know, my parents are quiet or quiet,
you know, like you know, they're quite strict in the sense that you
know, it's you know, yourdegree, you go to school, you
get your degree, get your job. So at first, you know,

(04:24):
they were really not keen on it. And I remember I used to you
know, jail break from home fora game I'll just be like I'm going
to my boys house. The nextthing, I might a gig in until
late. So then slowly I thinkthey just not just not he really loves
what he does. Then from thereit's just been you know, then the
elements of just how it's taken. You know, you know, you know

(04:45):
how artists are taken. You know, they see them as just you know
people when I went to school, they didn't make it, then you know
they but then you know it's reallybasically with music, you know it really
like for me and I teach,I really tried to have a connection the
people. You know, I'm tryingto make them listen to what I've tried
to create like a connection. Mmmm. And like I'm just on the bro.

(05:06):
Like the type of DJ you are? You've been speaking of gigs and
all that. What type of DJare you? Because I do know that
there are different types of DJs.Please correct me if I'm wrong, but
you know, usually a radio DJdoesn't really do like parties or am I
wrong with it? So what basicallyhappens is for me, with with with

(05:28):
with what I've experienced, you know, a DJ is just you know,
like for example, the difference betweenmaybe I feel for a club DJ and
a radio DJ. A radio DJtalks more often, you know, it's
it's it's more interactive in the sensethat you know, they see requests,
they talk to people. How youguys doing, you know, you know,
tell me the songs you want tolisten to, give me a shout

(05:48):
out, you know. But theconcept I believe a DJ is just for
me, is just the person whocan connect. You know, if I'm
playing good music and I can youknow, switch between genre is I can
switch between bbms and all of that, and you know you're enjoying. I
believe real DJ because the end ofthe day, when you're listening to a
DJ, if you're to do acertain dance, and I'm supposed to notice

(06:10):
when the song changes for me,you know, because you know, so
I believe a DJ like radio Beard, club Beard restaurants. You know,
I believe we all DJs in thissaense that you know, we are here
to entertain people, you know. But it's just now don't know how interactive
it is because in the club mostDJs, some DJs don't prefer microphones.
Some just want to play then theyleave. Some are more interactive, they

(06:32):
get an AMC to assist. SoI think DJ is is very diverse.
It's very diverse, all right, gee, And like you were talking about
how a proper DJ, you knowyou don't really notice when they change the
tunes and stuff like that, andbro, like, is it something that's
taught like this is just like forme now? Is it? Like is
it something you teach yourself when itcomes to DJ? And because you know,

(06:56):
I've always wondered, do you guyslike take a course or you know,
online courses? I don't know, but like, is it something that
you know happens with experience? Forme to be honest, when I started
out, no one told me literally, I was just playing around music.
Then you send it out to acouple of people, they'll just be like,

(07:18):
no, this it's dope. Thenwhen you not start getting proper gigs
like for example, parties and whatever, you start interacting with other DJs,
then they start telling you certain consolationyou need to listen to. Because excuse
me, because basically, when you'remixing, like I was told that,
you know, whatever you're mixing,it should sound good. The moment you

(07:39):
feel like, na, this isnot sounding good it's not just not all
basically, So for me to thensay I went to a course, I
was on YouTube and I was I'llbe lying for me, that's not how
it worked. I was pretty luckythat and the course of the journey,
I've had certain people that come tothem they're like, no, listen,
when you're mixing these type of genres, I feel you should do this type
of thing. At the end ofthe day, they just make sure it

(08:01):
sounds nice. That's that's the advice. I've got it. Oh all right,
no, man, that's pretty dope. G And like, of all
the events that you've performed at,well, I ran into you earlier this
late last year act. I thinkit was in the same by at Hometown
g And you know that was oneof one of the gigs you were doing.
So where have you performed that youknow you can say, yes,

(08:22):
this is the gig that I wantto do again. Like, what's your
favorite event? To be honest forme was playing at Club Connect in the
sense that the people that come toClub Connect are diverse. They are so
diverse. It's crazy because I rememberbecause usually I play like Hometown, you

(08:46):
know, Paraya, So there's acertain there's a certain type of way that
I used to play, you know, So when I got to Club Connect,
I tried doing the exact same thingor something similar. People just looking
at me like, what's this guydoing? What? What? What is?
So I remember I remember for thefirst for the first for few minutes,

(09:07):
it was bro And then you canmake the stage is a bit highest,
everyone can see you. I promiseyou. If people had things to
throw at me, they want haveto thrown stuff at So then lucky enough,
I noticed I noticed that, Nah, this vibe is different, it's
not going and I quickly switched up. Then, you know, feel like
that's the problem when it comes toDJ. You know, you really need

(09:28):
to know your crowd because if thecrowd is not vibing, yo, it's
it's gonna be a long night foryou. Am I right, dude,
it's a night me like, Iwon't lie to you like it was my
first time playing in that club, you know. Yeah, and yo,
brow, how do we? Ohman? You can hear me up on

(09:50):
my email. My email is bookingMade Belief at gmail dot com. Or
you can you know, save meat email, my Instagram, any on
Twitter. Just hit me up onmy DM. You know, we can,
we can, we can, wecan, we can link up,
we can, we can communicate. It's not it's not a hussle. It's
not a hussle. It's not ahussle. And yeah, listeners please,

(10:11):
I will be putting all the socialsand the links in the in the description
so that you can get hold ofDJ made or believe. But bro,
I have like six questions and theseare one word answer answer questions basically,
so I don't know. It's somethingfun that I thought I thought we could

(10:31):
do. And yeah, so it'sbasically, what do you prefer this or
that? But yeah, let mestart comedy or horror comedy? All right,
Netflix, and chill with your girlor Brian and FIFA with the boys,
Brian with the boys. Oh man, oh man, oh man.

(10:56):
I hope she's not listening. Ihope she's not listening. But moving phone
call or text text m okay cardioor waits waits all right? And two
more burner boy or da vido burnerboy, Uh okay, and then burn

(11:20):
a boy or whiskey it. Ohno, no, I'll go burner Nana
the boy Burner is dope, nocare like yeah, that guy is just
killing killing it, like everything hedoes now is just a banger. But

(11:41):
yeah, man, interesting answers there. But just before we close off,
my g what advice would you giveto aspiring DJs in your position, like
as a youth growing up in thisyou know, twenty first century, whatever
can you give? I would saythat, you know, well, in
my experience, I've noticed that youjust need to keep working, you know,

(12:07):
you know, at times you feeltired, like making mixes. You
know, at times a shy totalk to certain managers, just get to
approach certain people, but you actuallyrealize that at times you know that's the
one move that you need to makeit. So I would say they should
keep, you know, perfecting theircraft. They should keep the should just
keep pushing you know, you knowthey'll make it, and they shouldn't give

(12:28):
up even if these big DJs don'tgive them slots, even if they have
to play for free. They shouldknow their end goal that they want to
make it in the end, youknow, but aus it starts with something
you know that's true. Like forme, I've been DJing for four years
now, I only got I onlygot a major major explosion. I think
three years in for someone's a lot. For some, it's not a lot.

(12:50):
But you know, I feel likethey should just keep pushing, They
should keep creating content, and youknow, they should look to you know,
to be diverse, you know, don't just taj only to promoting,
looking to production. Mm hmmm, now that's very dope, gee, And
thank you for coming on and justallowing us into your world. You know,

(13:11):
DJing is something that you know,a lot of people don't really what
can I say, don't really lookinto you know. I mean we encounter
DJs everyway, but it's something thatI personally have never even thought about saying,
you know, what goes on behindthe scenes and stuff like that.
So thank you for coming on,Nigi. I know I appreciate it,

(13:33):
man, I appreciate it. Thanksfor having me. Man, this is
a great movement. Man, No, no straight gee. And as you've
promised us, my gee, uh, you know, you've got a little
mix for us. So thank youlisteners for you know, for coming on,
and thank you Takudo. And yeahwe're just gonna end with the mix,
but please do remember to like uson Twitter, on Facebook, and

(13:56):

do get engaged. Please do youknow, ask questions if you have any
questions, and yeah, I'll seeyou on our social media. But that's
it for now. Peace and enjoy. The mate said, who suppose you
