Speaker 1 (00:00):
Right now on Source Pages. Get your news here from
the Daily Planet. We're talking about that hero up in
the sky, the bulletproof man with the eyes of Lasers, Superman,
as we get ready to see dcu's first big film,
Superman by James Gunn. But first after these messages will
be Radick. It's time for the podcast.
Speaker 2 (00:38):
Welcome back, my fellow members of the Justice Gang. I'm
Brian V. Klein.
Speaker 1 (00:43):
I am Haley Hobbson. I'm not in a gang.
Speaker 2 (00:46):
Well yeah, I'm not either, but this is Source Pages.
Were read comics and like watch stuff and read stuff
for comic or for movies and TV shows that are
coming out as primers and continuations and all that. We've
done this thing UNI almost two times, but I can't
I can't remember exactly what we're doing here. But yeah,
we get to read comics and novels and watch stuff
(01:10):
to let you know what's coming up with stuff that's
coming on TV or movie. So yeah, yeah, exactly.
Speaker 1 (01:17):
So I been in a journalism class where they told
you to trim it down.
Speaker 2 (01:25):
No, I know, but I also tend to like ramble,
so I mean we ramble a lot on this show. Anyway,
about you all, the time. Oh get Ben, you knew that.
I mean, that's pretty much what our show is. It's
sort of like between all the shows. I like, do
the podcast on like our other shows. So we're so fun.
We're gonna record like right after this because we were
(01:45):
supposed to record on Friday, but I'm going to like
one of my two concerts in the summer, so I'm
gonna be heading into the city to go see one
of my favorite bands of all time, Primus. They're playing
in Chicago, and uh, but that's another thing too, where
it's pretty much I don't like to call it rambling.
I like to college stream of consciousness, where.
Speaker 3 (02:01):
It's just some more high falutin way of saying yeah, yeah,
the roads always end up converging back to the way
they are mostly.
Speaker 2 (02:14):
Before we talked to this, I just saw a couple
of things I thought that was funny. Was is that
is anybody going to San Diego this year? Comic Con
literally looked like every single major studio, like now a
single major studio is going to be there this year.
Speaker 1 (02:28):
DC is going to be there. They're going to do
like it underplayed, like they're not gonna do a big thing.
Speaker 2 (02:34):
Oh I thought that that they were the one that
was maybe they're not going.
Speaker 1 (02:36):
To be in last year because it's funny this year
that they're going and it's like nobody.
Speaker 2 (02:41):
Else's well that that could they could be the big
dogs then, So yeah, I.
Speaker 1 (02:46):
Guess so maybe he had everybody to stay away. Who
knows who is he?
Speaker 2 (02:51):
James?
Speaker 1 (02:52):
Yeah, mister gun.
Speaker 2 (02:55):
Yeah, I saw that. Who was it? Palm cleming that
she is in line the rumored to be playing a
big character in the DC you.
Speaker 1 (03:10):
Which she'd need a good poison ivy.
Speaker 2 (03:13):
It makes sense.
Speaker 1 (03:14):
She's crazy, she can do crazy really well.
Speaker 2 (03:17):
I know I saw her. I mean she did crazy
pretty well as Mantis, but she.
Speaker 1 (03:20):
Plays a crazy character in the Mission Impossible movies, and yeah,
she's good.
Speaker 2 (03:26):
Plus, you kind of figure you could just go down with.
Any person that has been in a James Gunn Marvel
movie will pretty much probably end up in a James
Gunn DC movie.
Speaker 1 (03:36):
So maybe maybe not Pratt, but no.
Speaker 2 (03:40):
I mean I think he might just be done. But
I guess he said he's coming back to do something
because he said that, you know, star Lord will return
somewhere or another, so he might come back.
Speaker 1 (03:48):
To Secret Wars Guardians three. I guess, yeah, Secret Wars
is where he belongs at this point. I feel like, so.
Speaker 2 (03:55):
I did see a a like not a rumor or
a conspiracy theory where they show the logos of the
Avengers movies, and if the A is like an Avengers
the First Avengers, the A is a full circle. They
won Age of Ultron, it's a full circle. They won
(04:16):
the Infinity War, it's not, and that's where they lost,
and then Endgame it is, and then Doomsday I think
it is in Secret Wars. It's not.
Speaker 1 (04:25):
So it's like like a flippity flip on us.
Speaker 2 (04:29):
Yeah, so they're being like, oh, maybe this is whatever
that is. It's like I could tell what sense.
Speaker 1 (04:35):
Though, because they have to all come together for it
to then blow apart, right, because.
Speaker 2 (04:42):
It's sort of like I think that the two movies
are going to take the same you know, it's gonna
be like a part one part two like Infinity War
game was, It's gonna be continuation of itself.
Speaker 1 (04:53):
It's a heavy lift. I'm very interested to see what
they're gonna do. It's a big ask.
Speaker 2 (04:59):
Yeah, there's a lot too, especially because I think we
talked about there's like hardly anything that's basically going to
be out there until we've got like what two movies
and one TV like full TV show, until you know,
Doomsday comes out in a year and a half.
Speaker 1 (05:16):
Do you think they're gonna give us something else? Like
what could you fill in between? Let's say Wonder Man
comes out this year, so skeptical. We have the Punisher
features whatever special relation that's like that's like Werewolf by Night. Yeah,
and we have well, we have the Spider Man movie
(05:36):
before it's between the two Avenders ones.
Speaker 2 (05:38):
Right, No, spider Man is next summer, Vision.
Speaker 1 (05:42):
Quest will be coming out because I think they're almost
done filming that.
Speaker 2 (05:46):
I think, yeah, because I think Spider Man is next.
That we got Fantastic four in July and then Spider
Man next July, and then Secret War or Doomsday in
Christmas twenty six, right, yeah, yeah, this is twenty four. Yeah,
so this twenty five, So next year we only have
those two moves were there pretty much looks like they're
doing like three members.
Speaker 1 (06:05):
This is twenty twenty five.
Speaker 2 (06:06):
I know it doesn't that seem weird?
Speaker 1 (06:08):
Oh yeah, I guess. Yeah, A Spider Man comes out
next to all I thought came out. I think it
was coming out between the two, and they've changed it.
Speaker 2 (06:16):
Right, it was supposed to because they pushed back to
Doomsday from May till Christmas. Okay, so we have Vision
Quest next year and then we have Yeah, I don't
know if we have anything else.
Speaker 1 (06:27):
All we know, right, So I would like to see
maybe they'll drop something at San Diego.
Speaker 2 (06:33):
Oha, I'm just kidding.
Speaker 1 (06:34):
Oh, just kidding, just kidding. They're like, we can't be
there this year because we don't even know what we're doing.
Speaker 2 (06:40):
So no, I know, maybe they might do something at
D twenty three, but that's not this year, that's next year.
So because D twenty three I think is are the
even years now because we already had celebration this year,
so they're trying to stagger that.
Speaker 1 (06:54):
What characters, let's see, who would I like to see
back in a something I don't even care?
Speaker 2 (07:00):
Yeah, night, Definitely.
Speaker 1 (07:03):
I need some more shunk Shi, Yes, definitely. That's been
just left weight, and I'm I need some more docs
for Strange, especially after Ironheart, which if you haven't seen,
we won't talk about.
Speaker 2 (07:15):
But no, we I've seen, well, okay, we've seen. I've
seen two episodes of it so far. Okay, well, then
it's been crazy. But I did get completely. I know
about Sasha, Baric Cohen, Barons, Baron Cohen and who so
(07:36):
he plays Howard the Ducks uncle.
Speaker 1 (07:39):
So he plays past pop Pete.
Speaker 2 (07:44):
Yes, they finally one of the oldest characters.
Speaker 1 (07:47):
That's what I want to see.
Speaker 2 (07:48):
The reason why they brought out him is because he
is one of the oldest Nemesis Nemesi. Nemesis is of
the Fantastic Four, who was in the sixties, which is
what First Steps is going to be. So maybe there
is a prelude to who the big bad is in
Fantastic four.
Speaker 1 (08:06):
I'd also like, uh, you know, like a Thunderbolts follow up.
They could do, you know what they need to do.
We've been saying it for years. Everybody has do the
the one shots again the little do more of those.
Speaker 2 (08:19):
Yeah, especially because they have the Well, the thing is,
though they had those, those those were pretty much like
but like DVD extras.
Speaker 1 (08:26):
Yeah, but then okay, But.
Speaker 2 (08:28):
The thing is, though I have a feeling, if you've
noticed now, they're pulling sort of away from physical media
where the stuff stuff drops on streaming before it drops on.
Speaker 1 (08:39):
The have this on digital nothing, you know.
Speaker 2 (08:44):
Especially it's like, what's the point, Like I've I know,
I've made our friend zoo Hair really upset when I
told them I sold all my Marvel Steel books because
there's no reason to get them anymore, because I would
all everything is happening americ pretty much like you are. Yeah, yeah,
I mean the only thing I've kept was my Star
Wars ones. And it's just cool too because I have
(09:06):
the Star Wars like the Disney Plus shows on four K,
and with my setup in my house, it looks better
than streaming in some and or was just like unbelievably
like you feel like you're in there. It's almost like
my PlayStation the three D or the VR two. How
immersive it was just looking. But it's to them their
(09:31):
main thing would be, especially with video game companies. Now
they're getting rid of a lot of the physical stuff
because there's once you get rid of any physical versions
of it and it's all download and stuff. Their overhead
is completely cut because they don't have to physically make
anything more. They make the game once. It's like a
like a when they sell a Windows license for computers
(09:52):
that businesses however many you use them, it's not cost
you're not making a physical disc, you're just licensing it
to each thing make so much more money that way.
You can't compare it to like this the music industry,
because the whole streaming thing is you're not with song
with like music. It's a lot different than you know,
(10:14):
I don't know, that's a whole other you know. I
think a lot of the things we wouldn't be dealing
with now if it wasn't for the pandemic, because I
think a lot of stuff pass tracked.
Speaker 1 (10:23):
I think it'll come back around eventually. All things tend
to do that.
Speaker 2 (10:27):
Yeah. And I think too, is that we're never going
to lose the desire. And it's proven the fact that
we've got a lot of money or a lot of
movies that it made a lot of money this year
that going to see a movie in a theater like
I've gone to see you know this year. I think
the last movie I actually saw the theaters was Revenge
of the Sith, but that was the twentieth anniversary release
(10:47):
and or did that come out after Thunderbolts before? But anyways,
next year, Yeah, I'm going to go see Superman obviously
this weekend so we could talk about it and then
Fantastic four.
Speaker 1 (10:58):
We're not talking about next week though, cause I'm not
seeing it this weekend.
Speaker 2 (11:01):
No, I thought what we're doing next week?
Speaker 1 (11:03):
But you guys some episode two hundred, isn't it?
Speaker 2 (11:06):
Oh that's right, it's our special yeah, secret episode that
we don't even know anything about it yet before we
get into Superman. Have you seen any of season two
of sand Man yet?
Speaker 1 (11:21):
Yes, Ashley and I are recovering it on Always Watching.
Speaker 2 (11:24):
Okay, I loved the season, not just be a spoil
I don't think many people that care that much about it.
But we could talk about it more when we do
our I don't even know if we're going to do
a review whatever of it, but we have it scheduled
because the fact that stuff stacking up it pissed me off.
Was the motivation changed with what he was going to
(11:47):
do with Hell where it was his idea instead if
it wasn't an ultimatum, Like it wasn't an ultimatum, you
know that that sort of was just like why did
they change that? Because that made it seem like, you know,
especially with what it did, was it Hell out of
the Angels because they were just like, oh crap, We're
never gonna see the Silver City again.
Speaker 1 (12:09):
Well, an ultimatum is laid at his feet, but he's like, haha,
you're in my realm. I make the rules here, and
that's why I don't I thought that was the same.
Speaker 2 (12:19):
No, in the in the comic slash whatever, God told
him you have to keep it, you have to give
it to my angels, and the show he decided to
give it to the angels. And then also but he says,
what I mean, it's the reason is mostly the reason why.
But it was sort of just like and then the
angels had no reaction to it, and I'm like, you
(12:42):
do realize that you're gonna.
Speaker 1 (12:43):
Be one of them? Can talk? Remember?
Speaker 2 (12:45):
Well, yeah, at least the other guy freaked out. The
other thing that sort of got me too was the
fact that what he did with Nada.
Speaker 1 (12:53):
That part I was a little disappointed with. I'm hoping
that's not I hope we get a little more next episode.
Speaker 2 (12:59):
Right, because he change because in this comic or whatever
it ends, that is because he basically makes her a
newborn and now it's just like, oh, I'm going to
go search for her. Wait a second, that changes the
whole his whole direction of what he was going to
look for his brother for and do all that stuff,
which sort of, you know, it sort of remained the same,
but it was also just like, well, now he's making
(13:22):
every one of his family members pissed off again, because
he was just like, Okay, well you freed her, but
you're still obsessing over her. Well in a.
Speaker 1 (13:29):
Show each other and themselves, I'm pretty sure.
Speaker 2 (13:32):
So yeah.
Speaker 1 (13:34):
But I liked the third episode a lot though. I
thought was a lot of fun.
Speaker 2 (13:38):
Was that the one where they went back and did
the Shakespeare thing? Was Yeah? I thought that was cool
because that was from the first that that would have
been in the first season, but a bit more well
and here what they were trying to explain everything about
the fay So that was cool. And did you see
who made his return to acting?
Speaker 1 (13:54):
Ashley had to tell me because I haven't seen Game
of Thrones.
Speaker 2 (13:57):
Okay, yeah, King Joffrey was us. Yeah. At first I'm
looking at it, I'm like, oh my god, that's some
what's his face from up? No way, that's oh my god,
that's from Game with that's key Jeoffrey. That's right, he
looks so much older now recognize it.
Speaker 1 (14:10):
I was like, I think I should know who that is,
but I didn't know who was you know that kind
of thing.
Speaker 2 (14:16):
Yeah, exactly, So I mean I enjoyed it all. It
picked up the whole thing with them looking for destruction
and the whole family plot thing.
Speaker 1 (14:22):
I've only seen through or three.
Speaker 2 (14:24):
So okay, yeah, that's all I've watched so far.
Speaker 1 (14:28):
Time to watch it anymore.
Speaker 2 (14:30):
I did that because I was watching it on my own.
I'm waiting for uh Liz to come back so we
could watch Ironheart. And there was something else that dropped
that we were just like, oh, we got to watch
this because anyways, I know you don't watch it, but
I was kind of intro this final season of squid Game.
(14:54):
Was it. It exceeded my expectations, but it also was
like a w TWOTF moment. But then it's also like, okay,
well there's going to be an American version of it now, so.
Speaker 1 (15:07):
Of course that's the way it goes.
Speaker 2 (15:09):
Right, which they said, like the people and the crew
had no idea that it was like, oh, because you
know the main person that the recruiter that gets to
people to play it at the end, it was doing
the same thing and then they turn and look and
it's Kate Blanchett, just like, oh, I guess, because they
had to go to America for something to give the
one guy someoney. It's like a crossover thing, so it's
(15:29):
going to be a continuation that squid Game isn't just
a Korean thing and it's an American thing. And then
I saw something with it being Kate Blanchette and de
Niro and Bradley Cooper or I'm like, man, Netflix cuts
are running. I guess, I guess.
Speaker 1 (15:43):
So yeah, I don't know, good for them whatever.
Speaker 2 (15:47):
So okay, so we got fifteen minutes in and we
can finally start talking about Superman.
Speaker 1 (15:54):
Have you heard of him? I don't know if you have.
Speaker 2 (15:59):
We there's a couple of things I thought like after
the fact, is that I'll just say this right now.
If you want to get some more in depth stuff,
check out our I don't want to really call him.
Our sister podcasts are on our same network, the DC
on Screen, because they're in the stranded Panic network, and
all they do is deal with like they're name and tails,
DC on Screen, TV and movie stuff. So they've been
(16:21):
doing I saw that they've been going. Jason and David
have been going back and watching like Superman and Superman
two and giving reviews of him and stuff like that.
So we could have done a deep dive into like
Guy Gardner and then also some of the other characters
in the just a lot of characters in this movie.
(16:41):
It's a James Gunn movie. We've got our primary guys
which everyone knows, and then we also got a whole
bunch of like be in c Lists people.
Speaker 1 (16:49):
So because he's quirky, you know.
Speaker 2 (16:53):
Exactly, that's James Gunn's way of doing things. So what
we decided to do is just it was easy and
it we all start. Superman is a lot of the way,
a lot of the storyline, I guess it is being
pulled from it. But that was too long. We're run
to try to figure out because it was like twelve issues.
I don't like breaking down. I don't like doing twelve
issue primers because that would take us like three hours
(17:16):
to get through sometimes maybe even.
Speaker 1 (17:17):
Two would have been two weeks, and we don't have
two weeks.
Speaker 2 (17:20):
Oh no, if you guys have noticed too, we.
Speaker 1 (17:23):
Still have getting covering the review of this till like
early aust.
Speaker 2 (17:28):
Which at the same time we might have to like
put our iron Heart. We haven't even done our review
in comparison to Daredevil. I know Born Again that's been
done for there's a plan.
Speaker 1 (17:38):
We'll see if we stick to it.
Speaker 2 (17:40):
Yeah, we just got That's the thing is though, with
the content we go through to make a show, it
comes in it's like a fast moving river and then
sort of like a dry river bedge always Now it's
just like there's so much stuff coming out between the
TV shows and move we can't make it work without.
Speaker 1 (18:01):
Doing and we want to focus on Fantastic Four because
obviously we are on a network known for Marvel. Yeah,
and that's what we love.
Speaker 2 (18:11):
Yeah. So if this movie coming out was going to
be like a you know, uh, I don't know, something
that wasn't as the fact that it's the start of
the new DC universe and it wasn't Superman and it
wasn't James Gunn. I mean, there's our Marvel connection right there.
But yeah, it would probably be something that we would
push back or to say like we watched it, you know,
(18:33):
we didn't do anything for Aquaman.
Speaker 1 (18:35):
Uh, and everybody is the richer for it, Yeah.
Speaker 2 (18:39):
Exactly, And then again that it shows you with some
Marvel shows we did like Marvel things. We did like
a primer for oh cray Hunter. I still I saw
that in I saw the dvd. The dvd actually in
Walmart and one of those center bins already for like
sixty dollars. I tell I'm like, oh my god, I
(19:01):
haven't even seen this movie yet. Then again, I haven't
seen like the last, the second, and third Venom movies
and that whatever it's, it is what it is.
Speaker 1 (19:12):
We do what we want, is the bottom line.
Speaker 2 (19:14):
Yeah, so we decided to run through Superman Infinite Unlimited
Superman Unlimited, which it is written by a guy that
you probably know, Dan Slott. I don't know if it
is he's like a free agent now or if he
just this guy that like jumps between the companies because you're.
Speaker 1 (19:32):
I think that's more common now than anything else.
Speaker 2 (19:36):
Yeah, it's not like it's your distinguished competition. It's just
people get hired to do stuff, and then they move
over and do other things, and then they come back
to do Marvel and it's more just like ah, I
don't know. Yeah, I don't listen to Marvel the podcast anymore,
so I'm not really sure. I don't think they really
go deep too deep into like who used to write
(19:57):
for them, like Brian Michael Bendis and then he goes
over and does in d C and stuff like that.
Speaker 1 (20:01):
But I think it just is the way it is now.
They they get hired to do a storyline.
Speaker 2 (20:07):
Right, but sometimes people just sit there and like Fraction
will stay with the company for a while, or who's
the guy that was on uh the Mighty Thorpe podcast
that he had on the writer Aaron. He seems to be.
Speaker 1 (20:29):
Doing like independent stuff. He's doing DC, he's doing Marble.
Speaker 2 (20:33):
Yeah, it's not like it's like you're being you know,
not one of the companies. Yeah, you're not traitorous now
if you go and do something with the other guy.
So it's written by Dan Slot and the arts is
done by Raphael Albuquerque, Marcelo Malo and Dave Sharp. And
this one's actually kind of cool because it is set,
I mean, and it was this issue that we're dealing
(20:55):
with was released only a couple of months ago in fact,
and it's on the Unlimited already. It's kind of cool.
Speaker 1 (21:02):
They put their stuff on faster than Marvel, And I'm like, Marvel,
take note.
Speaker 2 (21:07):
Well, Marvel did go from six months to three months, so.
Speaker 1 (21:09):
It still could know, it could be like a month
and a half.
Speaker 2 (21:13):
Yeah, because there's some cool Star Wars stuff, I guess
at the comics, like with Darth Vader, things that are
really starting to cook right now. It's kind of cool
because at the beginning it gives you mister terrific Year one,
the uh it's coming soon. It's like the sixth Issu
mini series that just started. So and he looks exactly
(21:33):
sort of like what he's gonna look like in the movie.
But the one thing that I'm glad and I don't
think they're gonna do it in this movie like they did.
And that's the one thing I didn't like about Man
of Steel was the you don't need origin stories for
characters that everybody knows the organ stories for you know, Batman,
you know Superman. They've done fantastic Forward twice, Spider Man. Yes,
(21:56):
we're gonna get some flashbacks here and there. But like,
I really did like Man of Steel, but they I
think they dragged their feet a little bit too long
with all the stuff that everybody knows. Yeah, we don't
need to repeat it, but they do in this comic.
So they pretty much are just like it starts off.
(22:17):
They're in Metropolis. The Daily Planet is being it's a
new multi media owner. Yeah. The owner is the ex
wife of the person that owned the conglomerate that owned
the Daily Planet, and that was what she got in
the divorce settlement. And it's gonna be just like, we're
gonna be the news outlet and we're gonna hit everything
(22:39):
from online, this and that. But what's it's a we're
going to get back to media and the news.
Speaker 1 (22:45):
We're gonna fight misinformation. Is the editor in chief, so
go Lois.
Speaker 2 (22:53):
Yeah, she's the she's the big man and or the
big big man on campus. She's she's she's basically running things.
Speaker 1 (22:59):
She's hbi C.
Speaker 2 (23:01):
Yeah, that's it. And but the person that is I
can't even think of her her name now, the person
that owns it now is basically saying like, I'm gonna
use Lois. She's gonna be my my right hand man.
You're gonna get all this stuff done through whatever the
process is. And then of course Clark hears something and
(23:22):
then he does the look on his face here almost
looks like he has to run to the bathroom because
he's like he's holding his stomach and he's running over
and she's just like, is he okay? It's like, yeah,
trust me, Clark. If it's anything, he's doing his job.
Speaker 1 (23:36):
Well, he's exclusively on the Superman beat. So if Superman's busy,
Clark's busy. Wink wink.
Speaker 2 (23:42):
No one just put those two together. But there there
are so many things too, Like if you I saw
this thing maybe six months ago where they were showing
like Zoe's Nation now and she had no glasses on
and her hair pulled back and it was shorter. She
didn't look like because everyone used to her with like
glasses and bangs. So if you change someone's physical appearance
(24:06):
enough and you did, it's like you can well.
Speaker 1 (24:09):
And it's like it's like when you work with somebody
and then you see them out, like at the grocery store,
and you're like, what, I didn't see you because I
wasn't expecting you to be there. Kind of a thing.
Speaker 2 (24:20):
Yeah, you could be basically like it's like a hiding
and plain sight thing. But the point is that if
you're around someone all the time and all the differences
is glasses and no curly cue and the hair. So
Superman runs off and he helps the cops save these
arrest these guys that are robbing with like laser guns,
and he one of the guys like, thanks Superman because
(24:42):
the thing that he stopped, Oh, he stopped the giant
ape from crushing something in Star City and it was like, yeah,
my mom was there, so you saved my mom. So thanks,
And he's like, are you supposed to be doing that?
He's like, I don't care. That was my favorite aunt,
But Superman. I don't understand why criminals still work in
Metropolis when Superman is there, and it's just like.
Speaker 1 (25:02):
You never know, maybe if he's busy doing something else,
I can do this over here.
Speaker 2 (25:07):
Yeah. Just like the next scene where he has to
go stop a lion from eating a kid that fell
into a line.
Speaker 1 (25:12):
All right, if you fell in, that's on you. I like,
I'm sorry, First of all, watch your kid. Why are
they falling in the tiger pit? Also, why is the
tiger pit open?
Speaker 2 (25:24):
And why is the tiger pit? I mean they're standing
right there and it only looks like it's like a
three foot wall to where the line line should jump over.
Speaker 1 (25:32):
No, I'm like, I mean, what is nobody else available
to do something about? I know okay whatever. It's like
I didn't care for that one. I was like, that's
on there, that's their fault.
Speaker 2 (25:41):
Yeah, and someone's like the next one, there's like a
plane going down, and then a boat that is like
ran a file, and then he stops a fire and
then yeah, and then he gives a bunch of money
to a girl who's you know, busy busking in the
park about Superman and stuff like that. And then he
gets called that.
Speaker 1 (26:01):
Was like a five. I was like cheap.
Speaker 2 (26:04):
Yeah, I looking at this and it's like, uh no,
it's actually it's a twenty.
Speaker 1 (26:08):
Okay, all right, all right, it's twenty.
Speaker 2 (26:11):
So that's you know, not too bad. And then he
gets called in the watch tower and they're just like
something is coming here and it's a it's a fatal
what's it? A near extinction level of that asteroid that
is the surface is pure inert tron. Yeah, and it's
like an otherworldly metal that is highly reflective, impossible to
(26:33):
scan through, and practically unbreakable.
Speaker 1 (26:36):
They're like red tornado. Ham you didn't see this, And
he's like it was really hard to see and Superman's like,
it's okay, you did your best, right.
Speaker 2 (26:44):
Right, exactly, and the people that are talking it is
like it's a green arrow. I think it's it's a stretchy.
Speaker 1 (26:51):
Man like not the starters, it's the bench.
Speaker 2 (26:54):
No, it's like the it's like the B team's backups.
And so it's like here comes the astroid and he's like,
I'm gonna be able to destruct destroy it. Boom. Nope,
Underneath it is all green kryptonite. Yeah, And I think,
isn't this No green kryptonite is the regular one. It
should like make him like.
Speaker 1 (27:17):
That's the one that's harmful to him.
Speaker 2 (27:19):
Right, But it also it makes him almost look like
he is uh, because I think like red kryptonite makes
him mad and blue kryptonite makes him like doubt himself
or something like that, because in the next couple of
panels it's him going like, oh my god, no, uh,
there's no time for this self doubt. It's like, no,
that's the wrong color kryptite. This stuff makes you dead.
Speaker 1 (27:38):
Well, I think he was just saying. I think he
was just saying to himself, like, you know, this stuff
will kill you, but you have to push past that
basically and try to stop it.
Speaker 2 (27:47):
Right. So what he does is he basically breaks this
while he is like contemplating, and you see his whole
backstory high the entire.
Speaker 1 (27:59):
Thing, like with pages and pages and pages, and I
was like, I don't think I need notes for them.
Speaker 2 (28:05):
No, it's like Jorellen Lara sending him off because Krypton
is exploding, and then him on the farm in small Villa,
and then him getting glasses because his laser eyes, and
then him you know, meeting getting new one here is
like he's got Crypto the dog, and then his dad
explaining everything to him, and then him I.
Speaker 1 (28:22):
Love the thing solitude.
Speaker 2 (28:25):
He's going through something in his head. He's like, here's
a centennial monument dedicated to you, the greatest hero Superman.
And he's like, oh my god, that's cool. When did
I get an eagle? And then uh, I forgot who
he was talking to was like or something.
Speaker 1 (28:39):
No, it's somebody from the future.
Speaker 2 (28:40):
The future. And then they're like oh, because sometimes he's like, hey,
I'm gonna go to the thirty third century. I'll be
right back, and then they're just like, oh, like when
did I get this? And then he's like that they
showed this thing about how Superman is showing up and
then his parents give him the letter from his dad,
so he learns how to make the Fortress of solid dude.
And then we got j Jonah James, Ja Jonah James said,
(29:03):
Perry Perry.
Speaker 1 (29:04):
J Jonah Jamison.
Speaker 2 (29:05):
Though yeah, Verry White yelling at like, you know, listen up.
We got this guy here, and he's called Blue Blurs
and Cris Crimson Streaks and blah blah blah, and where
there calling him Superman, mister okay, mister White. And then
it's him falling.
Speaker 1 (29:19):
In love with starting at the paper, falling in love
with so I just love her. She's so mean to me.
I hate that truck.
Speaker 2 (29:25):
Yeah, I know. And then here's Lex and then all
of a sudden, it's like they flashed that they go
to live when he is just his veins are going
green because the Krypton. And then you get to see
all of like his Nemesis, Nemesi, Nemesis is Doomsday and
(29:46):
just all the different guys, and then they show all
the like the bad guys, and then it's like Wonder
Woman and Green Lantern and Batman and then they're just
like friend, this is my friends and my family, and
then him proposing to h Lois and telling him he's Superman,
and then here's Doomsday and then he dies, and then
he comes back and it's literally here we are. We're
(30:07):
back on every age twenty six again, and it's him
still with finally blows up the krypton kryptonian you know, meteorite,
and then he wakes up and Crypto's there, and he's
just like, oh my god, how long have they been
out there? Like three months? Like wait, what happened? And
he's like, well, you almost died because you blew up
(30:28):
at kryptonian kryptonite asteroid, kryptonite meteorite a lot of heights.
And then they're like, oh yeah, John Jones Martsian Manhunter
has been you know, basically been cosplaying as Clark and
Superman to not make it, you know, be like, oh
my god, Superman has been gone that long and Clark.
(30:48):
What a coincidence. We'll never put the two and two
of these together. So then he comes back.
Speaker 1 (30:53):
To was like, yeah, I'm Iron Man exactly.
Speaker 2 (30:57):
It makes it easier work. He gets back to the
Watchtower and everyone's there saying like, oh, great job, Man,
thanks for coming back, and you know, we've been holding
down stuff. But then all of a sudden, they're like, yeah,
there was a let's see here while you were sleeping.
The nation state of elkel Darrow became one of the
(31:21):
Earth's wealthiest countries because it was the largest supplier of
the newest rarest most valuable metal, kryptonite. Because that's pretty
much where it all fell when he blew it up
onto this little island nation. And then he's like it's
like the Emerald City exactly. Oh crap. So but he
at this time, Superman's talking to a Supergirl and super
Boy and they're like, yeah, it hasn't been easy for
(31:42):
us because everything, Yeah, there's everything. It's weird. It's like
their clothes are kind of shambled and torn. It's like,
ye like black eyes. They look yeah, super Boy, he's
got his arm in a sling, and yeah, Supergirl's got
like a black eye. And they're just like, well, well
we got all this stuff back here now. But it
(32:02):
ends with the fact is like Superman has changed now
and he is just like the what is Batman's like, okay,
well turn on his spectrometer lights and then all of
a sudden, Superman is just like glowing like a golden god. Yeah,
everything changes.
Speaker 1 (32:19):
So if you could happen, we'll find out, No, we won't.
Speaker 2 (32:23):
Maybe if well, yeah, I think the I think this
the run that continues, it's going to be like a
five issue are four issue arc or something. But it's
it's interesting for the fact that if you haven't if
you need a fresh up, freshening up of the backstory
of Superman's origins a little bit, because it shows Crypto,
(32:47):
which isn't always in the origins, and Crypto has never
been in any of the live action stuff, and just
some of the more I'm not sure how it's not
gonna be like they like I've seen from the trailers,
his cohorts are going to be very It's even like
(33:08):
the seless Green Lantern because it's not Johnny Stewart and
it's not Hall George. It's Guy Gardener show. Yeah, but
they made Nathan Phillyon looks so terrible, but that's how
Guy Gardner looks into comics with that absolutely horrendous haircut
and the just the like I think, even like Nathan
(33:29):
Fillion's got his giant nose and this and that, and
he makes it be like because Guy Gardner in the
comics is a complete ass. He is just like so.
But the fact is that you're getting some of these
other sealisters that are out there. This is the one
(33:53):
thing I think that uh Gun likes him doing that.
This the Suicide Squad, and he brought a guy like
Peacemaker to the front who's now like almost even in
the comics and stuff, he fits in more. I think
that has a lot more to do with the fact is,
and I would I would never thought i'd ever say
this that John Cena is fantastic as that role and
(34:14):
it's made me want to see him.
Speaker 1 (34:15):
Most stuff for us to cover it.
Speaker 2 (34:18):
Well, it's the first season and even Peacemaker was hilarious.
I've seen a couple of movies with him in it.
I never thought I would like him because when he
was in Bumblebee as the dad of the main character,
who is Hawkeye Hailey Steinfeld, Matt Fraction, do you say
(34:39):
Matt Fraction? Matt Fraction was Howker or how gyfused. He
might have written, oh yeah, yeah, he wrote Hawker or
the Hawk Eye. I know. It's been one of those Mondays.
So it helped. It brought a lot of characters that
(35:04):
haven't been in even like Guardians of the Galaxy if
he can make these characters fifteen years ago, no one
knew who star Lord was, or Groot or Mora or
any of those characters, or even like Peacemaker or some
of the guys that were in Suicide the Suicide Squad
bokaat Man, which was hilarious that it just makes it.
(35:29):
And even although Vigilante was a comic I loved as
a kid in the eighties and nineties, kid like high school,
college age. But then in Peacemaker they make Vigilante be
like this bubbling idiot. But I'd learned to love it
because it fit the character pretty well. So I'm interested
to see what he's going to do in the movie.
(35:53):
As far as I'm gonna just check here the Superman,
here we go. The fact is, let's see premise. I
don't care about that. Let's see Nicholas. I'm actually looking
forward to Nicholas Holt as Lex Luthor because I did
like him. Yeah, he's he's been good and he was
good and Beast in The X Men, pretty cool stuff.
(36:16):
And I can't think of the name of the movie
now where he played the dead guy that came back. Oh,
but he was he was Greenfeld the one with Renfeld
was the one where he came in Nicholas Cage. But
that's It's never one of those things when you go
(36:38):
to look on a list of roles and awards for
Nicholas Holt. So it wasn't called dead and Loving It
or something like that. It was, uh, Renfeld. I liked
Renfeld though Renfeld was good, but it's it's not going
to uh, I'm not gonna warm bodies, that's what it was.
It came out in twenty and thirteen, and uh oh,
(37:00):
yeah's right. He was nuts in Mad Max Furry Road,
which is pretty good. But the fact is that, yeah,
they had to go with some of the you know,
lowest Lane Lex Luthor, but then they got mister terrific
metamorpho Guy Gardner Hawk Girl, and then I'm sure there's
going to be you know something at the end or
(37:21):
whoever where they're going to bring in someone from that's
going to be coming up, because I'm not even sure
what the the the lineup of the DCU or DCEU
or whatever they're calling it, what the lineup of their
movies is actually going to be right now, because.
Speaker 1 (37:41):
There's a Clayface movie and that's it. There's a lot,
there's a lot, it's just not very congruent, right, Yeah,
oh that.
Speaker 2 (37:54):
Here we go. Yeah, I guess I saw that Clayface
was going to be like Heart, that's going to be
rated R and excited for that. See films. Okay, Supergirl
is the next one that's gonna happen.
Speaker 1 (38:04):
I forgot.
Speaker 2 (38:06):
Sorry, So Supergirl, clay Face, and then in development the
Authority Braving the Bold Swamp thing, untitled Teen Titans film,
untitled Bine and Death Stroke, Sergeant Rock, and untitled wonder Woman.
So yeah, and I think television series, they've already done
a creature Commandos fits in there, and then so does Peacemaker.
(38:30):
But then Lanterns, I think it's already done filming because
that's going to be coming out like in January or February.
But that says Lanterns is wrapping up filming right now,
So that's to be the one I think Lanterns is
gonna focus on. Yeah, that's focusing on how Jordan and
John Stewart. So do we know who? Oh that's right,
(38:50):
Aaron Pierre is because he's the one that looks perfect
as with the blue eyes as John Stewart. But Kyle
Chandler is Hal Jordan. That's just I mean, he's older,
but I mean.
Speaker 1 (39:02):
Yeah, like you probably a passing the torch type situation.
Speaker 2 (39:08):
Yeah, and especially as the only Hell Jordan it's been
on screen was done by your favorite guy, Ryan Reynolds.
Speaker 1 (39:15):
So that's right, and everybody he loves that movie.
Speaker 2 (39:19):
Oh god. I don't think it was good for what
it was because I liked seeing the green Lantern core
in it, but just the it was entertaining, but it's
sort of like entertaining how you know, it wasn't just like.
Speaker 1 (39:32):
How stepping on a lego is entertaining.
Speaker 2 (39:35):
No that if you keep supping got a lego and
that's torture, then well okay that aside. I've heard a
lot have you seen or heard anything. I know a
lot of people have gone to see in the new
Jurassic World movie and they're just like on the fourth Yeah,
like scar Joe's good in it. The movie itself isn't great, not.
Speaker 1 (39:54):
Great, it's not great. I like her and marschall Ali,
they have like a good die ynamic, and it there's
an element that just didn't need to be there. And
if that wasn't there, I think it could have made
it better. I'll say that.
Speaker 2 (40:07):
See I was big on I loved the first two Durren.
I still haven't seen like the third one, resolution or
Requiem or whatever. So it's sort of just like, you.
Speaker 1 (40:18):
Know, it's it's a it's it does entertain There are dinosaurs.
Speaker 2 (40:23):
Yeah, well that's the thing is I see those things
always pop up with the like this time, all the
dinosaurs are like completely made up. It looks like all
their names are like, well, I've never heard of any
of these dinosaurs before. They're like, oh, they're all hybrids
of stuff and or.
Speaker 1 (40:40):
But it just lacks something it lacks honestly, like uh,
steaks and fear.
Speaker 2 (40:48):
Oh well that's lacks fear in a Jurassic Park movie.
It's sort of like, okay, well there it goes.
Speaker 1 (40:54):
But you know, we had a good time watching it. Okay.
Speaker 2 (40:57):
Cool. Anyways, So this is an absolutely terrible segue as
to like how people can get in touch with but
I'm just completely completely buy out of our social media.
