Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to spacing Out with BB and Jason this week
covering Battlestar Galactica Season three episode twenty, Crossroads, Part two.
Speaker 2 (00:15):
Welcome back.
Speaker 3 (00:15):
I'm Bebe and I'm Jason, and this is spacing Out,
where we discuss the piece of film or television, in
this case Battlestar Galactica. If you are new to the show,
we will have a spoiler section at the end of
the podcast, but otherwise we won't be spoiling anything past
this episode, which is Battlestar Galactica season three episode twenty,
(00:36):
the season finale, Crossroads, Part two. Crazy. This aired on
March twenty fifth, two thousand and seven. Written by Mark Verhiden,
directed by Michael Reimer. The survivor count was once again unspecified.
All Right, so, if you haven't seen this episode and
for some reason you're listening to this episode of the podcast,
just I'm about to drop like four major spoilers for
(00:58):
what happens in the show. Just seems like it's worth
a little extra warning.
Speaker 2 (01:02):
Yeah, this episode has a lot of reveals.
Speaker 3 (01:06):
Yeah. So in this episode, Baltar's trial continues and he
has found not guilty. Roslin, Athena and Kaprica six realize
they are all sharing the same opera house vision. Anders, Tory,
Chief Tyrol, and Colonel Tye are all revealed to be Cylons.
The fleet reaches the ionian Nebula and is attacked by
the Silon Fleet, and then Starbuck mysteriously reappears and says
(01:28):
she knows the way to Earth.
Speaker 2 (01:30):
She's strangely peaceful.
Speaker 3 (01:32):
Yes, and then the camera pulls way back out into
the galaxy and zooms back in to show us North America.
Speaker 1 (01:41):
Five Check. Did we like the episode overall? How does
it stand the test of time?
Speaker 2 (01:48):
I liked this episode. I needed to. It's it's needed
for that first part. That first part was very like
setting things up, getting you ready, and then all of
a sudden, bam, bam bam, these things are happening, and
I like that.
Speaker 3 (02:03):
Yeah, it's a big episode and it was definitely it
was hard to separate the first one from this one,
even when we only watch part one, because like, I
know what it all builds to and that's what makes
that episode better. But yeah, this is a really good
episode in my opinion, and part of that is just
like you, like, you think that the trial is going
(02:23):
to be like the big climax of the episode, and
like that happens, and then you know, the Cylons attack
and we haven't seen the Cilons in a long time,
so like, oh, that's what's we're gonna cliff hang on.
But then you know, we reveal four of the five
final Cilons and you're like, oh shit. And then when
you think they can't do anymore, it's fucking starbucket beers.
Speaker 2 (02:42):
Yeah. Yeah, a lot of stuff happens and.
Speaker 3 (02:44):
Then they're like, oh, by the way, remember Earth, We're
fucking going there. Yeah, so it gets me excited, even
with the the all along the watch Tower not completely
making sense but no.
Speaker 2 (02:57):
It doesn't make any sense. It's a very cryptic song.
Speaker 3 (03:00):
But in that moment, it just feel like it works,
despite like when you stop and think about it and
like that's kind of dumb.
Speaker 2 (03:07):
Yeah, yeah, you have to have that suspension of disbelief,
but it really works. So I do like it, and
I love when things are like revealed.
Speaker 3 (03:16):
Yeah, I feel like they've been holding back for a while,
Like we haven't had a Cylon reveal since like season two.
Speaker 1 (03:25):
Trivia time, what facts could we uncover for Crossroads Part two?
Speaker 3 (03:30):
So once again the pre cap and the opening credits
were removed from the show in the interests of time.
I think the episode is a few minutes longer as
well than usual, And even though they didn't have the
opening credits, they still put the the main cast members'
names upon the screen and during the opening, but to
keep Starbucks return a secret until the end of the episode,
(03:51):
Katie Sakoff was not listed in the opening titles, or
rather in the closing credits. During the final weeks of
production for this episode, fake pages and falls in from
me were purposely leaked out to maintain the secrecy of
the final scenes of the Final four and Starbucks reappearance. Wow.
Speaker 2 (04:07):
A disinformation campaign was conducted.
Speaker 3 (04:10):
Yes, Wow, they couldn't trust anybody.
Speaker 2 (04:12):
So.
Speaker 3 (04:13):
Baltar's trial was the subject of a research article by
Steven S. Kapeka published in the journal Law, Culture, and
the Humanities. Discusses the legal rhetoric and the show's discourse
on post nine to eleven anxieties. It's this show has
a lot of post nine eleven anxiety in it.
Speaker 2 (04:28):
Yeah, it's riddled with it. It's a show of its time,
for sure.
Speaker 3 (04:32):
All right, Well, let's talk about the song for a moment.
So the song and the lyrics at Tory Tye, Tyrol
and Anders. Here is Bob Dylan's All Along the Watchtower,
also made popular by Jimmy Hendrick's cover of it, and
the version we hear is adapted by the composer Bear McCreery.
Speaker 2 (04:48):
He puts a lot of violins in it, and I
hate that. I don't like the composition of this particular
rendition of All Along the Watchtower.
Speaker 3 (04:57):
It does some interesting stuff, yeah, because it's very like Ethereal,
and it kind of has to slowly materialize throughout the episode,
but then when it is fully there, it's kind of
like a I don't know, a very basic like rock cover.
I don't know. There's no explanation given in the show
as so why this particular song is heard or where
it comes from. According to a conversation that composer of
(05:20):
Barr McCurry had with Ronald D. Moore, the version heard
in the episode is meant to have been recorded by
a colonial artist. So when they were working on the episode,
the network wanted to purchase the rights to Jimmy Hendrix's
version for Ronald Y. Moore refused this, and he says
the idea is not that the literal song can be used.
There's no real logic as to how you could actually
hear the Jimmy Hendricks version, which is the most famous version,
(05:41):
even though it's a Bob Dylan song, how you could
actually hear that version in the Glack to get Universe.
But the idea was that the lyrics of a song
and the song itself could be passed from culture to
culture or have found its way through the mist of
time from one place to another. I could buy that.
Speaker 2 (05:57):
I could. I'm so sorry I couldn't.
Speaker 3 (06:01):
Yeah, And if it takes like that much of an explanation,
like maybe it doesn't work that well, maybe, and like
if you're going to do it, and I feel like
you've got to explain it, like.
Speaker 2 (06:13):
Yeah, like even if it is a colonial artist, like
tell you need to tell me, yeah, because I didn't
get that.
Speaker 3 (06:19):
No, And that's nowhere in the show. And it wouldn't
have been that hard to work it in.
Speaker 2 (06:22):
To be like, look at this new song coming up
by the band Jimmy.
Speaker 3 (06:26):
Hendrix, Jimmy and the Hendricks, even if not in this episode,
like that never comes up again, and so what the
song was?
Speaker 2 (06:36):
It's just weird?
Speaker 3 (06:38):
Oh yeah, that's what he has to say about that,
and I think he was just looking for any stretch
of a reason to put that song into this show.
So the Sagittarians were originally supposed to play a major
role in Baltar's trial. They had secluded themselves on New
Kaprica and Baltar was accused of ordering their execution. So
the original plan was that the Sagittarians are going to
(06:58):
be developed over several episodes, starting with the episode The
Woman King, where we did focus on them, but once
the idea was changed and work out, the remaining episodes
were rewritten. The original ending had Lee finding Starbuck on
the Galactica. This version was filmed. It's in the deleted scenes,
but this was changed to have her in a viper
because that's the last place that Lee saw her and
(07:19):
it would make it clear that she's returned physically, as
opposed to other characters on the show, like Six and
Baltar that appear and are just seen by one person.
The viper that Starbuck is piloting does not have a
nameplate and appears to be brand new. I'm sure we'll
be picked up on in the future.
Speaker 1 (07:39):
Deep Space Dive. Let's break down some of our thoughts
on the episode. You can share your thoughts with us
through email, Facebook, or Twitter. We may use your comments
on an upcoming episode.
Speaker 3 (07:52):
Let's talk about the episode.
Speaker 2 (07:54):
The episode with all the cast and crew. It looks
like the first thing you was the morning call with
Roslin and Adama.
Speaker 3 (08:03):
Oh yeah, Adama he's shaving. He's always shaving.
Speaker 2 (08:06):
Yeah. When he's not like brooding over his ships or
like leading in command or judging his son, he seems
to be shaving.
Speaker 3 (08:18):
There's like a pie chart of what he sends his
time off shaving.
Speaker 2 (08:25):
And the funniest thing is he doesn't have any stubble. No,
he's shaving a clean, shaving face. So it's just funny.
But he's shaving and he cuts himself, and then he
has to answer the phone.
Speaker 3 (08:39):
Yeah, very kind of like personal call with Roslin.
Speaker 1 (08:42):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (08:43):
Roslin's like, I'm tired, tell me something to get out
of bed, will She's like a cat girl and he obliges.
He's not, but he himself says, I wish I had
to get out. So it seems like they're both having
like a meh the morning. They're not really ready for
the day, Yeah, which is weird. Because they seem like
(09:04):
the type of people that would like wake up and
be like mourning people that have coffee and do a
crossword or something.
Speaker 3 (09:11):
Yeah. I feel like Adama is up and like reading
a book before for he is on duty.
Speaker 2 (09:16):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (09:17):
I feel like this kind of closeness that they have
is contrasted later in the episode when she's so disgusted
with him for voting to quit Baltar. Oh.
Speaker 2 (09:26):
Yeah, she was upset. She was really upset after the trial,
Like they kept cutting to her and she was like wow,
she like she couldn't even look at Baltard's face.
Speaker 3 (09:36):
Yeah, or Leada.
Speaker 2 (09:38):
Yeah, she was really upset at Lee. But she apparently
she wakes up and she goes to the doctor to
get her treatment, which is apparently really toxic. It's like
their version of chemo. Yeah, and while she's there, Haarrah
and her mom Athena, happened to be there and they
(09:58):
both freak out at same time. And that's what the
doctor says, You're both freaking out at the same time.
Speaker 3 (10:05):
Doccoddle has no patience for this kind of disruption in
his in his hospital, the hospital, and so they were
having that vision in the opera house.
Speaker 2 (10:16):
Yeah, and they figure out it's an opera house. I
don't know how I would have figured out it's an
opera house. But then again, I've never really been in
an opera house, so maybe you have to have been
in one before, because I would have been like, Oh,
it's a theater, That's what I would have thought. I'm like,
I'm in a theater, not an opera house specifically.
Speaker 3 (10:33):
Yeah, and they also see Kaprica six there, so they
go pay her a visit and.
Speaker 2 (10:38):
They're like, sorry about the shackles girl, not going to
do anything about him, just sorry about him. Yes, And
then they ask her like, are you also having these
weird visions and she's like, yeah, I am, but she
didn't outright say it at first, but Rosalind like deciphers
it and we don't know why they're having these visions
(11:00):
and they're weird.
Speaker 3 (11:01):
No so, and then much near the end of the episode,
they fall into another vision after they jump to the Nebula,
and we also see that Baltar is involved as well.
Speaker 2 (11:10):
Yeah, and he looks clean in that.
Speaker 3 (11:12):
Yeah. I wonder how they because when Baltar appears as
the head Baltar for number six, he's always clean shaven. Yeah,
so I wonder if they had to like shoot those
scenes after like the rest of the season.
Speaker 2 (11:25):
Maybe. I like that contrast though, to like differentiate the
real life of Baltar and the idellic version of him.
But yeah, so shared experiences with Weird Cylons's theme in
this episode.
Speaker 3 (11:42):
Yeah, because we also we find Chief Tyrrel wasn't in
the last episode, but he's here now. And he's also
here in this strange music, yeah, wandering around the ship
trying to find it.
Speaker 2 (11:52):
And then we also have Tori and Andres making out
and then all of a sudden they both hear it
at the same time. And we also know that Colonel
Ty's been hearing it because of the trial.
Speaker 3 (12:02):
Yeah, and we also I think it becomes more obviously
like they hear it when they're close to each other. Yeah,
So like you know, when they when Colonel Tye was
and at the bar like adjusting the radio, Andrews and
in the room with him, and then when ty was
on the stand, Tori was in the audience.
Speaker 2 (12:20):
Oh wow, good eye.
Speaker 3 (12:22):
So they always seem to be like in the same
room hearing this.
Speaker 2 (12:25):
So most of the time, so the trial is happening,
I guess this is the conclusion of the tile episode
trial Trial Tile Uh and Baltar is very confident in
his team and he's like, I'm going to get off
and they're like, I don't know, maybe we should ask
for a mistrial because I don't think so.
Speaker 3 (12:47):
Because they're they're losing because they're winning because no one
wants them to win.
Speaker 2 (12:51):
Yeah, which is confusing and I don't really get either.
But when they put Gata on the stand, that's when
I think they lose for real because he lies.
Speaker 3 (13:00):
Yeah, Gaya is a lying liar who lies.
Speaker 2 (13:04):
I mean, I get it, he really wants I don't
think he should have been put on the trial because
he literally did try to kill him.
Speaker 3 (13:10):
Yeah. I was thinking, like when Lampkin says no questions,
I'm like, why are you not bringing up like this
man tried to kill Baltart.
Speaker 2 (13:18):
Yeah, didn't you try to kill him? Like aren't you
like a not credible witness as well? Like we can't
believe everything you say.
Speaker 3 (13:26):
I feel like they could have discredited a third witness.
Speaker 2 (13:28):
There, Yeah, and that was a bad move. But then
Lampkin's like, I want to put Leah Dama on the stand,
and everyone's like, oh, hell no, that's not allowed, and
he's like, I can think of seven different times where
that was allowed, and they took his word for it
and they're like okay. So Leah Dama takes the stand
(13:50):
and Lampkin asks him the question of whether or not
Guyas should have a fair trial.
Speaker 3 (13:57):
Well, what he wants him to do is to call
out his father for having already made judge his trial,
and Lee refuses to testify against his father, basically, so
Lampkin pivots to asking him about if he thinks Baltar.
Speaker 2 (14:13):
Is guilty, Yeah, which is a weird question, if he
deserves a trial, I guess, yeah, it's a weird question
to ask if he thinks, like should he be convicted
because I'm his defensive orn.
Speaker 3 (14:23):
Of course you shouldn't convince Yeah, Like I know that
the prosecution objected to this, but like she should have
been objecting like throughout the whole thing.
Speaker 2 (14:30):
Yeah, like uh no, sir, like leading the witness or
whatever they say in these courtroom dramas. But I thought
his answer was really good about how like everybody else
got a clean slate? Yeah, everybody else.
Speaker 3 (14:45):
Yeah. His speech is like a high point of the episode. Yeah,
and yeah, because everyone has done illegal, immoral things and
we've managed to move past those.
Speaker 2 (14:56):
I like that he says, we're not a society anymore.
We're a gang. This gang we stand by each other,
and that's kind of scary because it's it feels real,
like that's a really good analogy for what it is now.
It's like you're put together because of difficult circumstances, and
in order to survive, you've built this like connection with
(15:17):
these people, and that is kind of what a gang is.
It's not always the best, it's not always the most
moral or sound. Sometimes it's toxic and terrible and it
exploits people, but that's kind of what they're doing. So
it's like a really good mirror for where they're at
(15:38):
right now as a group of people who are trying
to survive attacks. Because I don't feel like it's a war,
because the Cylons are definitely going to be better at
everything compared to them. For the most part, it's mostly
trying to like outrun them and trying to survive. So
I thought that was really good, and that kind of
I think sways the judges to let Baltar off, which
(16:03):
pisses everybody off, but Baltar's like, halujah.
Speaker 3 (16:09):
Yeah, he's found not guilty on a three two vote.
Speaker 2 (16:13):
Yeah, which is close.
Speaker 3 (16:14):
And a Dama admits the rosalind that he voted not guilty.
Speaker 2 (16:18):
Yeah, he didn't have to, but he was honest with her.
Speaker 3 (16:21):
Yeah. But then Baltar is like immediately arrogant again.
Speaker 2 (16:26):
Of course, he's no longer his life is no longer
on the line. He's a free man. He doesn't have
to go back to jail, but I feel like his
freedom is now a sort of jail because he's still
like vulnerable to being attacked.
Speaker 3 (16:40):
Yeah, because he very quickly realizes that Lee and Lampkin
don't want anything to do with him now that the
trial's over. He thought he's going to have this entourage already,
and so.
Speaker 2 (16:53):
He's like wandering around the ship and then all of
a sudden, this lady grabs him and puts a blanket
over him, and she's like, we're leading you to life.
Speaker 3 (17:01):
That's the lady from the last episode that wanted him
the bless her child.
Speaker 2 (17:04):
Oh so it's probably.
Speaker 3 (17:06):
We forgot to talk about that last time. We did
in the spoiler section. But yeah, he has amassed some
followers and.
Speaker 2 (17:12):
They all seem to be women so far, Yes, from
what we've seen based on the blanket abduction.
Speaker 3 (17:18):
Yeah, so that's the end of the trial. We also
see that Lampkin's use of a cane was all just theater.
You did not need it. And now we quickly move
on to everything else that's happening. The fleet makes their
final jump to the Ionian Nebula, which is supposed to
be the next clue on the way to Earth, and
that's when a bunch of shit goes down. We lose power,
(17:39):
and all the ships and Tory, Colonel Tye Jeef, Tyrrel
and Anders, they all converge on the Glactica gym.
Speaker 2 (17:46):
I'm in that song and they all starts singing it.
They all starts singing lyrics. And that was such cheese.
Speaker 3 (17:54):
Yeah, trying to like Pepper. Those lines in that was corny,
Like a couple of them early on, they don't really
stick out, and it's they could have been like a.
Speaker 2 (18:06):
There's got to be some way out of here.
Speaker 3 (18:10):
It could have been a fun easter eggs. I think
Anders says like no, no reason to get excited or
something like that like that like worked within the dialogue.
But then Colonel Tye is saying, like said the joker
to the thief, Like that's not something anyone would say.
Speaker 2 (18:23):
No, it was cheese. It was a lot of cheese. Again,
I think I've said it in the last episode. It
felt like your dad, who's really into like classic rock,
is trying to like get you into it, and he's like,
come on, listen to this cool song from the seventies
or sixties, and the song is cool, but you don't
(18:44):
want to admit it because it's your lame dad showing
you this song. So you're like, oh man, how what
do I do? It's so cringe right now, that's the vibe.
It gives me so hard.
Speaker 3 (19:00):
But anyway, those four they.
Speaker 2 (19:02):
Like get together. I want to definitely break this down
because it's so funny because they're like, first, I think,
is it Chief Tyial that comes in? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (19:12):
Tyroll comes in I think and already in there.
Speaker 2 (19:14):
Yeah yeah, And then uh, they're like looking at each
other and they're like what's going on? And then Tory
comes in and she's like, what are you guys? And
then they're starting to put it together and they're like,
there's no way were you know, they don't want to
say it first, Yeah.
Speaker 3 (19:31):
They can't say the word, but they're like realizing it.
And then for Colonel Ty.
Speaker 2 (19:35):
Walking Ty walks in and they're like, what the fuck
because it's crazy. Well the fuck is Colonel Tie a
fucking Cylon.
Speaker 3 (19:44):
All the people that could walk through that door?
Speaker 2 (19:46):
Yeah, and it's crazy. And then they're like I can't
believe it, Like they talk about like all they've been
through and the occupation and all this other stuff and
why wasn't it revealed then when it could have maybe
even been helped full to the Cylons.
Speaker 3 (20:01):
Yeah, and he even brings up like he's been in
the service for forty years, Like it does not make
sense that, like he's aged for forty years, you know. Yeah,
like everything we know about the Cylons isn't quite lining
up with these four, right, but apparently they are.
Speaker 2 (20:17):
And it's crazy. And all of a sudden, you know,
shit's hitting the fan. The fleet is in trouble and
all battle stations are announced and Colonel Ties like, well,
I don't care because I am who I am and
I've got a job to do and that's kind of
really interesting and I don't And it's kind of funny
(20:37):
when they all like separate and try to like walk
out at different times. They all show up at the
same time and they're like hey, Like Calli was like
where have you been? We need you fucking Calli and
Chief is like, I'll tell you later. And that's like
weird because he's like married and has kids. What the
(21:00):
fuck does this mean? Like it's crazy, Like he's one
of Like they're in very key positions, most of them.
I feel like Anders could be anywhere, like a nugget whatever.
Speaker 3 (21:12):
Well, they're shipping him out to the battle.
Speaker 2 (21:15):
Yeah, I guess that could be like a potentially impactful
role that he could play, and we don't know if
they're gonna turn their coats or whatever. Doesn't look like
it right now, but we don't know what's going to
happen because we leave right before anything happens.
Speaker 3 (21:30):
But I think you see that in their eyes, like
they're terrified.
Speaker 2 (21:34):
Yeah of that. And then when Colonel Tye gets to
the bridge or the brig or the CAG or whatever
they call it, see see the CIC, he's like you
can count on me, or you can trust me or
some shit like that, And it's very cryptic and scary
because it's like, oh my God, can we can we
(21:54):
trust you? Uh, it's scary.
Speaker 3 (21:57):
And then Tori says's basically the same thing the Roslin
and I kind of thought rozones soon be like get
out of here, Tory, pull yourself together.
Speaker 2 (22:05):
Yeah, you're a mess. And so everything's kind of like
lining up and like it's freaky. So the next season
is it the last season? Next season? Yeah, it's gonna
be crazy.
Speaker 3 (22:16):
Yeah. But then so Apollo is going through the hallways
and all the.
Speaker 2 (22:20):
Pilots fucking lawyer suits.
Speaker 3 (22:22):
Yeah, all the pilots are running past them, and he
can't resist getting back in the cockpit.
Speaker 2 (22:27):
I feel like it's his duty too though. He's like
a really good pilot.
Speaker 3 (22:30):
Yeah, yeah, he probably should, even.
Speaker 2 (22:33):
If, like even if he didn't want to, or if
he's like excommunicated or whatever.
Speaker 3 (22:38):
Yeah, like he's he's not in the service anymore actually,
and he doesn't have a flight status, but he can,
so it's illegal. But he just gave this big speech
about forgiveness. So he's like and Henet.
Speaker 2 (22:48):
Thing, he can fly, like not a lot of motherfuckers
can fly, Like, I don't know why you would ground
somebody like that. That's stupid. That was a stupid move
of on a dama's side, I think.
Speaker 3 (23:00):
But but then he sees this unknown greatest contact, calls
it a bogie, right bogie whatever, that goes to check
it out. Takes them a while to find it, but
turns out a Starbuck.
Speaker 2 (23:11):
Yeah, crazy in a brand new viper, looking clean as hell.
Last time we saw her, she was sweating her balls
off in a fucking cockpit and then exploded. So she's
all peaceful and shit, and she's like, it's really me Lee,
and I'm gonna I've been to Earth. I'm going to
lead you there, and it's very weird. It's like a
(23:32):
different start.
Speaker 3 (23:32):
Yeah, and then that's when the camera pulls back, shows
the whole fleet, shows the Cylon Fleet, and shows the
whole galaxy, and then zooms back in to show.
Speaker 2 (23:42):
Earth right in a different location.
Speaker 3 (23:44):
Yeah, they kind of let us know that, Hey, we're
actually going to Earth.
Speaker 2 (23:47):
Next stop Earth.
Speaker 3 (23:49):
Yeah, and you really get the vibe with all of
this that like the show is like moving into its
final chapter.
Speaker 2 (23:55):
Yeah, all the pieces are coming together and we're having
revelations and hopefully we're going to figure out what's gonna
happen with the cylons and the humans and the humanoid cylons.
Speaker 3 (24:09):
So yeah, it was a lot that went down it. Also,
it feels like because the last part of the season
kind of slowed down a lot. We had these episodes
as really focused on issues in the fleet and stuff,
and there wasn't a whole lot of momentum going forward,
and then like it really just ramps up here at
the end. Yeah, so that's Crossroads part too. Any other
(24:31):
thoughts on it?
Speaker 2 (24:34):
Not really? Not really.
Speaker 3 (24:36):
Then let's move.
Speaker 1 (24:37):
On Astral Queen, who was the standout character in the episode.
Speaker 3 (24:46):
My Astral Queen's gonna be Leadama me too.
Speaker 2 (24:50):
I think we did that for him last week.
Speaker 3 (24:52):
Yeah, I think so.
Speaker 2 (24:53):
He's doing really well.
Speaker 3 (24:55):
Yeah, I mean that was just a really good made
some really good points.
Speaker 2 (24:59):
And then he went out and was like, I'm putting
on my flight suit.
Speaker 3 (25:02):
He brought up all of the things that he's done
as well.
Speaker 2 (25:05):
Yeah, he's like, I fucked up. I got fat.
Speaker 3 (25:10):
He conveniently forgot that one.
Speaker 2 (25:12):
I got fat and I had you know, I made mistakes.
I was cheating on my wife emotionally with food.
Speaker 3 (25:20):
Cool. Well, yeah, Lee Dama, that's two sets of two awards.
Speaker 2 (25:26):
Queen.
Speaker 3 (25:27):
He's really pulling up the ranks here at the end.
Speaker 2 (25:29):
Are we gonna do a culmulation of who won this
because this is the last episode of the last of
the season.
Speaker 3 (25:36):
Yeah, so we'll have that for this next episode, which,
by the way, next up is the TV movie Razor.
Speaker 2 (25:44):
What I thought we were gonna start the season three.
I'm ready for season three, Jason four.
Speaker 3 (25:51):
Sorry, yeah, yeah, I mean that that'll be something to
talk about. Actually, because Razor it was this is when
it was released. That's why we're watching it next. But
it all takes place like during season two with the Pegasus.
Oh no, so it is kind of like we build
up all this momentum to go into season four and
then we take this big side journey before we actually
(26:11):
pick up on these cliffhangers. So but yeah, so we're
gonna be doing Razor next, and then I think also
before we get the season four, we're gonna we're gonna
take a little hiatus. I don't know how long, but
we'll take a little break before we start it. But
we're also gonna do another Star Trek movie, Star Trek Nemesis.
Speaker 2 (26:29):
Okay, that sounds fun, just.
Speaker 3 (26:30):
To break it up a little bit. And yeah, that
is it. For season three Battlestar Galactica. We're gonna go
into the spoiler section now where we will talk about
some spoilers if we still have some.
Speaker 2 (26:45):
Yeah, this one's spoiled, Like this was finishing off a
lot of the things we talked about in the spoilers.
Speaker 3 (26:51):
Yeah, as we as we approach the end of the show,
we're not gonna have as much to say in the
siler section. Seo Stylus in this group.
Speaker 1 (27:01):
Race for impact. Spoilers ahead. If you haven't seen the
whole series, now is the time to say goodbye. Remember
you can contact us at spacingolpod at gmail dot com,
find us on Facebook and Twitter, share your thoughts and
be a part of the discussion. Spoilers in five four
(27:22):
three two one.
Speaker 2 (27:25):
So spoiler chief Tyrrel and Callie's baby not their baby,
because otherwise it would fuck up the whole para storyline. Yeah,
of her being like the most important baby in the world,
because now we have a potentially other Cylon baby, Hybred,
which would have been cool if they were like go
for it and they're like, yes, there's two, because there's
(27:46):
there's like a power in the number two, Like things
come in twos. Like Yang and yang and like good
and evil and like that would have been cool boy
and girl.
Speaker 3 (27:57):
Like they could have had the evil child.
Speaker 2 (28:00):
Yes, they could have had like a bad baby and
a good baby little Nikki that's literally the baby's name.
And I'm telling you, it would have been cool if
they just leaned into that and they're like, yeah, actually
you could have been like pumping that baby's blood as
well to cure cancer. But they didn't, And I thought
that was really unfortunate because it would have been interesting,
(28:22):
like even in the like opera House if like all
of a sudden there was a second child and it
was mysterious, like who's this other baby? I don't know,
but I like baby storing sometimes sometimes, Uh, any.
Speaker 3 (28:35):
Other spoilers, Yeah, So I was just gonna say, like,
this is the first time and with this whole opera
House thing that they've been doing since the beginning of
season two, it's the first time it feels like they
kind of know what they're doing with it and setting
up the pieces in a way that like they've kind
of figured out what the purpose is going to be,
which is what comes into the series finale when they
(28:56):
are trying to rescue Hara from the Cylons.
Speaker 2 (28:59):
So do Lung's turn? Are they bad guys then, Chief
Carol and all of them?
Speaker 3 (29:03):
No, I will say like Tory kind of leans into
the the darker aspects of being a Cylon I guess,
and she eventually kills Cali.
Speaker 2 (29:14):
Yes, good about that.
Speaker 3 (29:18):
But yeah, and Gata, you know, we've kind of seen
him take a little of a turn with his character recently,
and I think he kind of he never really gets
over some of this stuff, and it really he becomes
kind of a tragic character, eventually trying to stage a
coup with Tom Zeric and getting executed.
Speaker 2 (29:36):
Yeah, that happens to gay characters, and it's kind of unfortunate.
Speaker 3 (29:40):
It's also going to point out that the Earth that
they show at the very end is our Earth. They
show America basically, However, that the Earth that Starbuck is
planning to lead them to is a different Earth because
they first get to an Earth that has been destroyed
by nuclear war, so our ear, yet it's everything cyclical. Yeah,
(30:05):
so the Earth that's in their scriptures is a different
planet than our Earth, even though they eventually get here.
Speaker 2 (30:11):
In Can we do a Show?
Speaker 3 (30:13):
I think we've done our show since we have any
other spoilers to talk about, We'll just have to see
what happens.
Speaker 2 (30:19):
So say we.
Speaker 1 (30:20):
