Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to Spacing Out with BB and Jason this week
covering Battlestar Galacticas season four episode sixteen, Deadlock.

Speaker 2 (00:14):
Welcome back, I'm Bebe and I'm Jason.

Speaker 3 (00:17):
Then this is spacing Out where today we will be
discussing Battlestar Galactica. If you are new to the show, welcome,
and you should know we're gonna have a spoiler section
at the end of the podcast where we are free
to discuss any future events in the series, but otherwise
we won't be spoiling anything past this episode, which is
Battlestar Galactica season four, episode sixteen Deadlock, was originally aired

(00:39):
on February twentieth, two thousand and nine. Written by Jane Espinson,
directed by Robert Young, The survivor account was thirty nine thousand,
five hundred and fifty six, which has not changed since
last time. In this episode, Ellen, Tye, and Boomer travel
to the Galactica. A dama puts Boomer in the brig.
Ellen is not so pleased when she learns that Kaprica

(01:00):
six is pregnant by sault Tie. Her interference and jealousy
lead Kaprica six to have a miscarriage. Anders survives his
operation but shows no brain activity. By a majority vote,
the five agree that they will go off on their own,
leaving the colonial fleet behind. Adama agrees to have the
cracks in Glactica's whole repaired using a Cylon living resin,

(01:23):
and that's it.

Speaker 1 (01:26):
Five check. Did we like the episode overall? How does
it stand the test of time?

Speaker 2 (01:33):
Did you like the episode?

Speaker 3 (01:34):
Of course I liked the episode. Okay, did you like
the episode? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (01:38):
I did.

Speaker 3 (01:38):
Actually, I really enjoyed it. Was this the Ellen Taie
episode you were hoping for? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (01:44):
I was. She came in busting balls and demanding chivalry.

Speaker 3 (01:50):
Yeah, this was a lot of fun. This is I
don't know, something Galactica has gotten pretty good at is
like we don't have to rely on the battles and
the military conflict all the time. Like this is all
just personal drama. So in that regard, I think it
holds up pretty well.

Speaker 1 (02:11):
Trivia time, What facts could we uncover for Deadlock?

Speaker 3 (02:15):
The original title for the episode was the Drowning Woman
referring to the Galactica. That's a little harsh, yeah, And
then of course the current title Deadlock just refers to
them voting and being deadlocked. The original cut of the
episode was eleven minutes too long, and the deleted material
expanded on the situation in Dogsville. Due to years of

(02:35):
war and the mutiny, there are no longer enough marines
to maintain order in Dogsville. The Sons of Areas take
control of the food supply except for the stash held
by Baltar's cult and then Leadama and Roslin discuss the
possibility of bringing in centurions to provide more security in
the civilian areas. However, Admiral Dama is firmly opposed, and
Adama prefers Baltar's cultists to using the centurions. We saw

(02:59):
a little bit of that there at the end. I
think they kind of cut that scene in half.

Speaker 2 (03:03):
But yeah, I didn't know that the alternative was cert centurions.
Thought it was really weird that they just gave balt guns.
They could have just said, well, you don't have enough
marines to take care of this problem, and they're like, okay,
you're right, and that would have been like five seconds.

Speaker 3 (03:19):
And then composer Baron McCreery makes a cameo as a
patron and Joe's bar Okay hanging out there because there's
a piano.

Speaker 1 (03:27):
Now, deep space dive. Let's break down some of our
thoughts on the episode. You can share your thoughts with
us through email, Facebook, or Twitter. We may use your
comments on an upcoming episode.

Speaker 2 (03:44):
Where does the episode start with Boomer and Ellen crash landing?
Not crashing crash landing, they're definitely party crashing.

Speaker 3 (03:53):
They show up unexpectedly. I made a note how Ellen's
arrival kind of mirrors her first appearance in this where
she gets off a raptor and everyone is shocked that
she's alive. Oh yeah, and she immediately starts stirring the
pot yep.

Speaker 2 (04:09):
I like her. I like her like anger almost, Like
she's very logical in her anger with finding out. Well first,
she's very passionate with Colonel Tye, like, well, there was
a moan at the end, but when they very first meet,
that really unsettled me, and I was I was not

(04:30):
excited about that. But yeah, she so she's like super
excited to be there and to see all her children,
not that she has all her memories, but she still
wants to be treated like Ellen tie.

Speaker 3 (04:44):
Yeah, she still has a lot of the Ellen we
know in her. Yeah, she's always looking for booze. She
is like manipulating people.

Speaker 2 (04:52):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (04:52):
I think she genuinely doesn't know about Caprica six at first,
so she's not well.

Speaker 2 (04:58):
Colonel Tie is not telling her shit. He's like got
his tongue down her throat like immediately, so like there's
no time. He has no time too. He's like trying
to explain, but his passion is like bigger than his
logical man brain. And so after they're done have eaten sex,

(05:20):
she's like, so, who did you fuck? Like, I know
you're not gonna stay single for long, you know. And
he's like, well, you know, you know her. And when
he tells her it was a six, he's like, She's like, ew,
that's our kids.

Speaker 3 (05:35):
Yeah. She she makes it very very weird. It was
already weird with their age difference, but like now it's
like uh ancestual.

Speaker 2 (05:44):
Yeah. And then they had and then she finds out
that six is pregnant and that like drives her over
the edge, which causes her to devise a plan to
basically divide the fleet and the cylons from each other.
And I think it was mostly to get a reaction
out of Colonel Tie and make him make a decision

(06:05):
because she goes to their old apartment or whatever, and
she like pretends that she's looking for booze, but she's
actually like looking to see if this woman's moved in
and made herself the new woman in Tie's life. Officially,
it's like a passing fancy. And I thought it was

(06:25):
kind of funny that she's like offering booze to a
pregnant woman.

Speaker 3 (06:29):
Yeah. Well, I don't know if she was offering it
to her, but she was definitely expecting the booze to
be where it always was. Yeah, and the fact that
there is no booze in their room now is like
another sign that Tye really does love her.

Speaker 2 (06:42):
Yeah, another indicator that says that Tie is changing for her. Maybe.
I don't know, we'll see, but now, Like the thing is,
Kaprica was having complications with her pregnancy already, and so
with the stress of everything that Ellen is kind of creating,

(07:02):
it just makes it worse for Caprica. Apparently, That's what
it seems like. It looks like there's like a cause
and effect. Yeah, And my favorite line was that Colonel
Tye loves a Dama like she's he doesn't love you,
He doesn't there's something he loves more than both of us,
and that's a Doma.

Speaker 3 (07:21):
Yeah, So that was our whole angle in that, because
she admits later that she was always going to change
her vote to stay with the fleet, but he really
she really wanted to hurt Tie by making him have
to choose like that.

Speaker 2 (07:33):
Yeah, because she knew he would because he's loyal as
hell to only one person and that's a Dama.

Speaker 3 (07:39):
And Ellen claims that she didn't think it through enough
to realize she was going to hurt Coprica six as.

Speaker 2 (07:44):
Well or their baby.

Speaker 3 (07:45):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (07:46):
Yeah. And so the baby passes away, and I think
Caprica's like acting was so good in them, Like I
really believe she just lost her child. It was really
emotional and sad and very sudden, and I think that
was like really good acting on everybody's behalf in that scene,

(08:06):
because I really believed all that trenchion and that sadness
and the emotion, which is cool.

Speaker 3 (08:12):
Yeah, it was heavy. And then just right after that,
you have Tie going to a Doma and like without
even saying anything, like a doma nose.

Speaker 2 (08:21):
Yeah, and then like he cries about his kid's name
and it's sad, Like it's really sad, and you really
feel for these characters because not only did they lose
a child, but they lost this like hope for their
whole society. Yeah, and that was like really important. And
I feel like Ellen let petty feelings get in the
way of something that would literally revolutionize the way that

(08:44):
they moved forward as like entities in this world. And
I think it was mostly jealousy that drove her to that,
which is a very Ellen thing to do.

Speaker 3 (08:53):
Colonel Tye calls it petty.

Speaker 2 (08:55):
And vile, Yeah, and he's like, no, wonder we had
to make up a god because there's no way that
we could be deities the way that we behave. That
was pretty harsh, but I think he was expressing himself
in the moment, which is harsh feelings.

Speaker 3 (09:11):
That's good.

Speaker 2 (09:12):
I liked it. I thought it was interesting. I hate
seeing child death and all that, but you know, nothing's
for sure. When you're in that condition, you got to
be prepared for that kind of crap. It's not happy
or great, but you know it's not outside of the
realm of reality that it could happen. A lot of
people don't announce their pregnancies because of that, and I

(09:32):
don't know how far along she was because she wasn't
super big, no, but because I think then Doccott will
say like at four months, you're never gonna make it
or something like that. So she was like barely pregnant. Yeah,
I know some people that won't say until it's like
after the second trimester or whatever. Yeah, showing, Yeah, but

(09:53):
showing for somebody that's like skinny as a fucking twig, right,
so that lady ate a cheeseburger. She showing.

Speaker 3 (10:03):
So when they're voting on whether to stay or leave,
it's Tye obviously obviously wants to stay, and Anders made
it clear that he wanted them to stay with the fleet. Yeah,
Tory is very much in camp Cylon. Yeah, cut ties
like she's probably annoyed that she keeps having it come
over to the Galactica. Yeah, and then I guess, I

(10:24):
guess Jeef Tyrrel was also wanting to leave. I don't
know if he gave any explanation for that.

Speaker 2 (10:29):
Probably just tired of running into Boomer.

Speaker 3 (10:34):
The Boomer's here, then I'm leaving.

Speaker 2 (10:36):
Yeah, the ex girlfriend that won't go away. So if wait, so,
if so, if Colonel Tye and Alan are the parents
and they're all their children. That means that they're all
brother and sister is shit, right?

Speaker 3 (10:51):
No, Like the five of them are like the parents
to the other seven Zylons.

Speaker 2 (10:57):
Oh, I'm so confused because.

Speaker 3 (10:59):
You didn't pay attention during the lecture last time. Oh
my god, the backstore. These five cylons are the parents
met up with the centurions to make the other seven silence.

Speaker 2 (11:12):
So is Chief and Sharon or Boomer's relationship mother father
or is it sister?

Speaker 3 (11:22):
So father father daughter.

Speaker 2 (11:24):
Father daughter. It's the same thing as what Ty did basically, yeah, okay,
but nobody's like raising an eyebrow at that. They're even
encouraging him to go visit her.

Speaker 3 (11:34):
Well, they did it without knowing. Ty has continued this relationship.

Speaker 2 (11:38):
Even after he allegedly found out. Yeah, because I don't
think he's gotten his memories back like Ellen did or Honders.
He's just going off of what they tell him. Yeah,
but he feels horny, and horny's more like powerful than genetics.

Speaker 3 (11:57):
Like, you know, though it's not genetics, they're just kind
of the relationship the order.

Speaker 2 (12:04):
Of which they came out. It's like version one versus
Version two with those long slowlicks. Anyway, that's interesting that
they were split and that Ellen used that to create
tension and trauma, trauma drama or her husband's new girlfriend.

(12:25):
And then she's like, I didn't mean to. Do you
think she meant to? Do you believe her? Believe what
that she didn't mean to that She didn't think about
it all the way through, probably because I don't think
she and she knew that her consequences would be so severe.

Speaker 3 (12:40):
Yeah, I think she wasn't concerned whether or not it
would hurt Kaprica six, and so she wasn't thinking through
those consequences. Although like, I don't know that you would
that anyone would think that they were going to cause
a miscarriage in someone.

Speaker 2 (12:54):
Yeah, undue stress man, it can happen to you. Do
you want to talk about guys?

Speaker 3 (13:00):
Let's talk about Gaius and his haircut.

Speaker 2 (13:03):
Yeah, came back from wherever he went with Laura Rosalind
when they left on that ship after the revolution.

Speaker 3 (13:10):
He's on the Cylon ship.

Speaker 2 (13:11):
Oh yeah, they cut his hair and gave him some
sexy time and.

Speaker 3 (13:15):
Then he comes back to him he's basically had a spot.

Speaker 2 (13:17):
Ay and well, they were dealing with revolutions and insurrectionists
and all this other shit.

Speaker 3 (13:24):
Yeah, apparently they're grabbing guns off of dead bodies in
the hallways.

Speaker 2 (13:27):
Yeah, but it was I was really excited to see Guias.
I even said at the beginning of the episode, I'm like,
do you think this will have Guius in it? Because
I really like his storylines. They're kind of lighthearted compared
to the heavy shit that they bring with the other characters. Yep,
and I feel like he delivered.

Speaker 3 (13:47):
He was back. He has to reclaim his his following.

Speaker 2 (13:52):
Yeah, he's having a pissing contest with one of his
followers who's like going against him in a lot of ways.
I don't know why he doesn't just excommunicate her and
be like, you're kicked out, but that would probably make
her stronger right as a martyr.

Speaker 3 (14:08):
Yeah, and who knows how many people might want to
follow her.

Speaker 2 (14:11):
Fair But he puts on like his mother Teresa hat
and is like, we have to feed the children. They're
named after me, so it's really important that we feed
the babies. And homegirl that's against him is like, we
need that food, but she doesn't explain too much. She's

(14:31):
like to barter in trade with and we need to
eat it and he's like, yeah, but we don't need
that much food and God will provide. And then, because
she really should have told him, like the last time
we were here, the last time we had to arm
ourselves because the sons of aries are around, she conveniently
left that out, I think to make him look like

(14:52):
an asshole. Yeah, it was so funny. He was like,
so I like that. They set it up in the
where the marines are trying to feed them this like
barrel of grain. They had a really inefficient system of
everybody getting a scoop. You bring your own scoop and
you just take it. And they're like, there's no control

(15:16):
over the situation. It's like none of them have ever
controlled a line or been in line before. And I
feel like there should have been a perimeter around the
barrel if they're gonna go straight from the barrel. Personally,
I would have been like, I'm gonna scoop it for you. You
don't fucking touch this with your dirty peasant hands. That's

(15:36):
like first, and then second, you stand five feet away
from me because you're fucking nasty and you stink. Just
making all these awful assumptions about people in dogland.

Speaker 3 (15:49):
Or whatever, it's called well, I feel like even the
name Dogsville is like they named it that because they're
like referring to these people as animals that are living
on Galactica.

Speaker 2 (15:59):
Yeah it terry housing, oh man. But yeah. So I
feel like the Marines who were in charge of this
just had no leadership skills. And then they're like, everybody
get in line, stop it, stop it, Oh my god,

(16:19):
stop it. And then we cut to Gayas and he's
like peacefully handing out packages and he's like, there's no
oppression here. There's no government. It's just people helping people.
And it was like so woo ooo, like mystical lovey
dovey bullshit, and it was so perfect when those white

(16:43):
guys came in, like the Proud Boys, and we're like,
we don't like, we don't take kindly to your kind
around here around these parts, and we're gonna commandeer that food.

Speaker 3 (16:55):
Our dicks are bigger than yours.

Speaker 2 (16:57):
Literally, they pulled out bigger dicks, and so guys is like,
well damn. And I loved there was like a little
detail and you have to watch it. When they take
away the food, guys reaches in there and grabs two
parcels to himself because he's still a greedy little bitch
deep down inside. And he knew he was out bested

(17:18):
by guns because he's like, ladies, show him, show them
that we are armed. And the girls pull out their
little guns and the guy's like, well, we're ours are bigger.
And then they're surrounded by guns and he's like, okay, okay,
let me just grab my two little servings and we'll
let you go. And so when they get back to

(17:42):
their compound, what's her face is talking shit and he's like, bitch,
got something to say, Say it to my face. And
he's like, I got something to say to you. I'm
going to fix this and I'm gonna get us bigger
batter guns.

Speaker 3 (17:58):
And well, so first he has a conversation with his
head six, which we haven't seen her in a while. Yeah,
she's back in this episode, given him some guidance, and
he realizes that despite he was doing all this to
basically make Paula look foolish and take back control of
the group, but he found that he was genuinely enjoyed

(18:18):
giving and helping and being benevolent like that. So that's
kind of the turning point for him where his motivation
is actually to try to help people.

Speaker 2 (18:26):
Never thought I'd live to see the day. But he
enjoyed helping, which is great. We all volunteered at a
soup kitchen. Once guys, we get it.

Speaker 3 (18:37):
And so he goes to a Dama and Doma does
not look thrilled to see Guy's Baltar.

Speaker 2 (18:43):
Nobody does. Everybody's pissed like the like even Leah Damas like, no,
get out of here, you shoot. But I think he
brings up some excellent points about how the people are
like in a place where they're beyond being reached by
your regular government, because the government is gone at this

(19:04):
point effectively, like Sarah killed them, and Laura's absent. Still
she still hasn't taken up the mantle of president in
a real way that we see anyway. Maybe she's signing paperwork,
we don't know.

Speaker 3 (19:17):
I mean, she's there in that meeting.

Speaker 2 (19:19):
She was in the meeting, was there with Baltar, Yeah,
but we didn't see nothing about her since she ran
away in that ship. So we don't know what her
role is right now and how active the government is
with her at the helm. And he called her out
for it, basically, and she didn't say nothing about it,
so I'm guessing he's got some points.

Speaker 3 (19:41):
Still seems pretty wild that even if Adama agrees that, like, yeah,
we should get some civilians we trust to be in
charge of the food distribution, but it's not going to
be you guys, Like yeah.

Speaker 2 (19:53):
But honestly, they did a better job than the Marines. Yeah,
they had a more orderly line and the I think
they did it right where the food was already prepackaged
and then hand it out instead of everybody grab a scoop.

Speaker 3 (20:06):
Who knows what's next.

Speaker 2 (20:10):
That's just unsanitary, honestly. And what was that like? Popcorn?

Speaker 3 (20:17):
Little rocks?

Speaker 2 (20:21):
Just lentils? If anybody knows what that is, let me know,
how do you cook that? Probably hot water? And then
I didn't enjoy seeing Caprica eating that green mush while
she was just hanging out in Saul's house. Yeah, so
they're still eating that green mush. I feel like they

(20:42):
need a I.

Speaker 3 (20:42):
Wonder if that's what it was, like dehydrated green mush.
Maybe she had to go get beat up just to
get some of that.

Speaker 2 (20:49):
Oh yeah, I forgot about that. She was in that
robe trying to hide her identity, but they fucking saw
her ass and then she had to beat them up pregnant.
That did kill her baby, because she's stronger than that.
And she didn't look really pregnant in that shot either,
so I feel like they were picking and choosing when
they want to make her look pregnant.

Speaker 3 (21:10):
So Caprica six and Roslin had that quick scene together
in the hallway. I just remembered thinking like, oh, that's interesting.
They don't really share a lot of screen time together.

Speaker 2 (21:19):
Yeah, and it was a vision. It was funny that
Roslin approached her and said Caprica and she's like, Oh,
it's so weird. I never called you by your name before.
And she's like, I'm sure you've called me many names before.
It's like shade, that was so shady and honest. Honestly, yeah,

(21:39):
she probably has. So it was interesting that they were
talking about the importance of the baby and all that.

Speaker 3 (21:45):
Yeah, and they realize they haven't had any visions together
since Caprika got pregnant, which she's not pregnant now, so
that kind of leaves that open. What else anything else
in here?

Speaker 2 (21:55):
I can't think of anything really.

Speaker 3 (21:58):
I noted that Dama's drinking just to get worse and worse.

Speaker 2 (22:02):
Oh, Yeah, he was getting drunk with Saul, wasn't he.

Speaker 3 (22:05):
Uh yeah, yeah. It seems like every time he's faced
with something stressful, now he's drinking.

Speaker 2 (22:11):
Oh yeah, because he's upset about the ship.

Speaker 3 (22:14):
Yeah, I forgot. Yeah. There were a lot of shots
of him just like staring at the ship while the
work's being done. He was kept cutting to that.

Speaker 2 (22:21):
I like that they did that scene where they showed
him the goop and he's like, can I touch it?
And it was basically slime. I was like, that's awesome.
I hope he finds a paper towel or something to
clean his hand off. And I like how they described
it as a cartilage, so that there's like this reference

(22:44):
as to how it's a living, structural part of a body.
I thought it was interesting that they chose the cartilage
and not bone, because cartilage is more flexible.

Speaker 3 (22:55):
Yep.

Speaker 2 (22:55):
I'm excited for galact Cut to be in its new
phase of hybrid and like this idea of mixing together,
like mixing the races. It seems like what's happening in
Galactica is what happens a lot of the time when
a new race of people is introduced to a existing

(23:20):
group I feel like it's rougher for certain groups because
they're so different, But I think it's really nice when
it finally does happen where there there is acceptance for
the most part, but you're always going to have like
some people that are like, oh, well, you're never going
to be like us because you're not X, you're Y,
And that sucks because that ruins the harmony that could

(23:42):
exist in the world.

Speaker 3 (23:43):
And so the end the episode by showing that the
cylons are starting to put pictures up on them, the
culture remembrants, and I thought it would have been funny
if they had cut to the pictures and it was
like the same three photos over and over again.

Speaker 2 (23:58):
No, it was different headshots, just a different hat and
every headshot. But yeah, like that's like, that's the incoming
culture adopting the existing culture's traditions and and and the
ways of living so that they can be a part
of it and feel like maybe some people will see

(24:19):
that and be like, oh, dang, you know they're like us.

Speaker 3 (24:22):
Yeah, they feel losses too.

Speaker 2 (24:24):
Yeah, I just I'm still not really one hundred. I
guess they eat, but do they need to eat?

Speaker 3 (24:29):
Yeah? Okay, just check they do I mean Cavil said
that he managed to like go in and turn off
his need for sleep. He might have done that for
food too or something, but.

Speaker 2 (24:39):
Nah, he's probably just downing a bunch of fucking red
bulls and he's like, I don't need sleep. I'm okay.
But he's like sleep deprived and manic all the time.
He's gone to into a what to called caffeine and
do psychosis and that's why he's the way he.

Speaker 3 (25:02):
The dude just had a nap.

Speaker 2 (25:04):
Yeah, if he could just take a nap and relax,
he'd be cool.

Speaker 3 (25:07):
Yeah. I mean, the cylons were designed to be like
human human as possible. Like they can't be told apart
by any tests except for whatever Baltar was doing with
a nuclear radiation.

Speaker 2 (25:20):
That was a long time ago.

Speaker 3 (25:21):
But it's not like they have some giant power cell
in them or something that's powering. They's stilling to eat.

Speaker 2 (25:26):
I don't know. Remember that spine that glows, that's true.
There's got to be some LEDs in there or something.

Speaker 1 (25:37):
Man, Oh my god, Astral queen, who was the standout
character in the episode.

Speaker 2 (25:48):
Who's your astral Queen? I think the guy is that's
my Astral.

Speaker 3 (25:53):
Queen guys is a good astral queen or the episode.

Speaker 2 (25:57):
Yeah, because how he handled that at the end and
he didn't know what the fuck.

Speaker 3 (26:02):
He was doing with it. I loved it.

Speaker 2 (26:04):
He's like, I got these big guns, but I don't
know what to do with them.

Speaker 3 (26:07):
They didn't come with any training.

Speaker 2 (26:09):
But that one girl she knew.

Speaker 3 (26:10):
Yeah, she's like a gun fanatic.

Speaker 2 (26:13):
She seems like she's former right wing reformed, you know,
like she's now a hippie, like she was on the
alt right pipeline, but then she like found Jesus and
was like maybe I don't hate everybody, but she got
enough skills to like learn maybe like like a doomsday
prepper kind of skills. She's like, I know how to

(26:34):
survive on my own. And that's why she has this
mentality that like we don't need to feed everybody. We're
on our own. But Guyas is like, Kumbaya, my lord, kumbaya.
I have only been gone three minutes and you guys
are already like planning my destruction. You think I left
you behind, I got you, baby girl. And he talked

(26:55):
his way into guns. I don't know how he did it.
I don't know. It's crazy. Because they didn't explain it.
We know because we know the trivia, but if you
didn't watch the trivia, you would have just thought that
Adama just gave him guns for fun.

Speaker 3 (27:08):
Yeah. Well, he still mentioned the idea of like that
people aren't ready for I guess Cylon take enforcement thing.
I feel like New Kaprica or something.

Speaker 2 (27:18):
Yeah, yeah, that's gonna retraumatize some of the humans.

Speaker 3 (27:23):
Yeah, they didn't really get to draw home the point
that like there's not enough Marines left and that there's
they're considering the Centurions as a like alternative. Yeah. Yeah,
I think I'm gonna pick gyas as well. Like our
other main characters, like Ellen does some shitty stuff. Tie
does some shitty stuff.

Speaker 2 (27:40):
You could give it to Unders for keeping it together
the whole episode and then having extra beepy boo boobs.

Speaker 3 (27:49):
Some some rapid eye movement going on. Yeah, he probably
had some relaxing days on set there. And I feel
bad for Caprica six.

Speaker 2 (28:00):
I am Boomer, Like I land after I save your
bitch and I get put straight to jail. Bullshit, Damn
they hate Boomer. But yeah, Caprica six has the worst
luck of it all or the worst situation that befalls her.

Speaker 3 (28:15):
Yeah, but I like the character growth with Baltar, so
I'm aligned with you on that.

Speaker 2 (28:21):
Yay Baltar.

Speaker 3 (28:23):
Two awards for Boltar. That wraps up the main part
of the episode. We're gonna go into some spoilers, so
if you don't want any spoilers over the next it's
like three or four more episode.

Speaker 2 (28:34):
What are we gonna watch next?

Speaker 3 (28:36):
Don't worry about that. Oh okay, focus on what's at hand. Okay,
don't don't keep listening if you don't want to be spoiled.
The next episode is called someone to Watch Over Me.
We will see you for that. Let's put our living
stereo stylist in this group.

Speaker 1 (28:55):
Race for impact. Spoilers ahead. If you haven't seen the
whole series, now is the time to say goodbye. Remember
you can contact us at Spacingoutpod at gmail dot com,
find us on Facebook and Twitter, share your thoughts and
be a part of the discussion. Spoilers in five four

(29:16):
three two one spoiler section.

Speaker 3 (29:20):
I didn't write anything down for this. Do we actually
have anything to talk about?

Speaker 2 (29:24):
I feel like I just want to know how the
fuck does the Jimmy Hendrix song play into this? Who
are Bob Dylan or whoever? Does that ever come back?
I guess they joked about it in the last episode
about how Andres didn't explain that stupid song, and I'm like, yeah,

(29:46):
what is the what is that going on with that
stupid song?

Speaker 3 (29:49):
So that song that's going to come into play a
lot with the Starbuck and she points out on this
episode that there's now a piano in the bar, and
she starts messing around with that piano and is playing
those notes and eventually those notes translate into the coordinates
that lead them to Earth, kind of in a weird

(30:09):
music theory type thing. So I also mentioned that the
composer Baron McCrary was on set and had a cameo,
and that's because he's there like working with the piano
player for the music, because of music's so integral for
the next few episodes.

Speaker 2 (30:24):
Interesting, So there is spoilers seeing I knew i'd bring
something up.

Speaker 3 (30:29):
Yeah, and then I think I mentioned this last time,
but you know they're putting that organic resin throughout the
ship and.

Speaker 2 (30:34):
It's gonna hook wonders up.

Speaker 3 (30:36):
Yeah, that's gonna allow up on their board. He's gonna
be able to control the ship like the Hybrids do
the bass stars.

Speaker 2 (30:43):
But do you have to like ask like, hey, onder sweetie,
could you please take us to this place? And he'll
be like thirty eight twenty nine, thirty eight twenty nine,
it's raining in Spain.

Speaker 3 (30:57):
Then he takes you there, basically like, I don't think
he has any more like coherent dialogue. I think he's
just gonna all gonna be that.

Speaker 2 (31:07):
Battle that what's the word salad?

Speaker 3 (31:10):
Yeah, until we get to the flashbacks and the movie
the plan. But yeah, he is. He goes bald too,
it's bald, bald, he is both currently, yeah, he is.
That's right. They shaved they shaved his head for.

Speaker 2 (31:23):
The brain surgery, and then his care doesn't grow back.

Speaker 3 (31:26):
Nope, They're gonna put him in a bub.

Speaker 2 (31:29):
And put him put him in good yep. How much
good do you think they go through when the Cylon
episodes come off?

Speaker 3 (31:36):
Probably quite a bit.

Speaker 2 (31:38):
Anyway, Battlestar Galactica, what a show?

Speaker 3 (31:41):
Well, let's call it good for the episode deadlock and uh,
we will see you next time for the episode someone
to watch over me. This is usually where I try
to think of a clever line to say from the show.
But so say we all, So say we all.
