Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to Spacing Out with BB and Jason this week
covering Battlestar Galactica Season three episode eight, Hero.
Speaker 2 (00:14):
Welcome back.
Speaker 3 (00:15):
I'm BB and I'm Jason, and this is spacing Out
where we like to talk about Battlestar Galactica, and if
we want to discuss anything involving spoilers, We're going to
wait till the end of the podcast. Otherwise we won't
spoil anything past this episode, which is Battlestar Galactica Season
three episode eight Hero. This is not Helo, Not Helo Hero.
(00:37):
This aired on November seventeenth, two thousand and six. Written
by David Ike, directed by Michael Reimer. The survivor account
was forty four hundred and twenty one people, which is
an edition of one from last episode.
Speaker 2 (00:52):
Because we gained one.
Speaker 3 (00:53):
Yeah, that's so smart. So in this episode, Admiral Adama's
old friend Bulldog escapes from the Sylon after three years
of imprisonment. We learned that he was shot down on
a Black Ops mission with a DAMA that violated the
Sylon Peace Treaty, potentially provoking the Sylon attack on the Colonies.
Potential It's murky.
Speaker 1 (01:14):
Vibe check. Did we like the episode overall? How does
it stand the test of time?
Speaker 3 (01:21):
How to go? For you?
Speaker 2 (01:22):
It was okay. I figured you were going to say
that it wasn't great. You know, it was okay. Mostly
about a dama in this episode. We didn't get too
many side stories going on. I usually like a little
more meat.
Speaker 3 (01:36):
A little more more variety, Yeah, a little more ingredients
in your salad.
Speaker 2 (01:41):
Yeah, Or if you're gonna focus on one character, like,
give me more than just regret some other elements. What
to you do? You think you're like, I love this episode.
That's my favorite episode.
Speaker 3 (01:53):
No, I do like this episode. I would agree that
it is kind of singularly focused and there could be
more going on on and a little more dynamic to
the guest star, But I like that it complicates things
like It's what I like about season three I think
in general, is that, like seasons one and two really
kind of grounded this show with the idea that you know,
(02:16):
the Cylons are bad, they tried to wipe out humans
and so. But then season three comes in and kind
of flip some of it on its head and makes
it introduces more ambiguity.
Speaker 2 (02:26):
I guess, yeah, it makes you question, like, are we
the bad guys, yeah, orre we the instigators.
Speaker 3 (02:33):
Yeah. Like Laura roz On said, are humans just warmongers
and the cylons are reacting to that? I think so.
So that's what I like about it.
Speaker 2 (02:41):
Even the plot summary, it is like two things happened.
That's the shortest plot summary I've seen in a while.
Speaker 3 (02:48):
That's because I'm so good at summarizing.
Speaker 2 (02:51):
Oh yeah, I'm not.
Speaker 1 (02:55):
Trivia time. What facts could we uncover for hero?
Speaker 2 (03:00):
What you got for trivia?
Speaker 3 (03:01):
Battlestar Valkyrie receives for the first time in the show
a name from Norse mythology, because Greek mythology is present
in the show in the gods and the names of
the colonies and battle stars and cities. But now we're
getting some Norse mythology.
Speaker 2 (03:15):
In there as well, come through white people.
Speaker 3 (03:19):
So in the beginning, as Roslin is looking at Adama's dossier,
you can see his service record. I think you have
to like pose it to see what's going on there,
But I just thought it was interesting to list them off.
So he was. His first commission was on the Battlestar
Galactica as a fighter pilot, and then after the peace Treaty,
he left the service, and he's worked on like a
(03:42):
merchant fleet and some tramp on what a tramp freighter is,
but a freighter.
Speaker 2 (03:46):
Sounds like a slutty freighter to me, I.
Speaker 3 (03:50):
Know that's why. Yeah, So I think he did that
for a large chunk of his life. And then he
gets recommissioned into the fleet, which I think we saw
that in some flash in season two when he was
shot down and Ty was in command. And then he
became a major on the Battlestar Atlantia, executive officer on
Battlestar Columbia, and then commander on Battlestar Valkyrie, which we
(04:14):
were seeing flashbacks in this episode, and then of course
commander of Battlestar Galactica. So some early drafts of the
script had Roslin and Leah Dama doing an investigation into
what Adama was trying to hide, and they find videotapes
of the Valkyrie incident. Why there would be tapes, I
don't know.
Speaker 2 (04:31):
Yeah, that's really weird. The secret operation has documentation like that.
Speaker 3 (04:38):
Adama has them on his cell phone for some reason.
Speaker 2 (04:41):
His flip phone from two thousand and six.
Speaker 3 (04:47):
Lucy Lawless improvised all the dialogue in the scene where
Bulldog is escaping from the cell. It's supposed to be
mos which dreams without audible dialogue, And then one draft
had a I'm rejecting the medal and awarding it to
Colonel Tye in the ceremony after.
Speaker 2 (05:05):
All that planning Laura did give her. She could have
just baked him a cake, you know, but because she's president,
she's like, he needs a metal and.
Speaker 3 (05:15):
Tye testing his vision with a cigarette is a reference
to Rocky two where Rocky has a bombay and he's
testing his vision.
Speaker 2 (05:24):
That seems dangerous. I feel like you could use a
little flashlight or something that's not like fire right in
your face with smoke.
Speaker 3 (05:31):
He's just drunk, just testing his field of vision. He's
not going to drop it on his face and do
his other eye, but he could.
Speaker 1 (05:42):
Deep space dive. Let's break down some of our thoughts
on the episode. You can share your thoughts with us
through email, Facebook, or Twitter. We may use your comments
on an upcoming episode.
Speaker 2 (05:54):
What do you want to discuss? First, our introduction of
our first black character in the series, besides that Cylon
doctor that shows up for one episode.
Speaker 3 (06:04):
I hope that's not the truth, is it?
Speaker 2 (06:06):
I mean proved me wrong. I'm open. I'm always open
for correction at any point. I'm not against it. I
went to art school and I know what criticism is.
And if I'm wrong, I'll take the l No worries.
But well, I guess d d is a black character.
She's one of the most developed black characters in this series.
(06:27):
But we don't have a lot of black men who
represented in this show at all, which is interesting. And
the one black man who is represented is a bad guy,
so that's not great. But whatever.
Speaker 3 (06:37):
So Danny Bulldog Nobateech. Danny appears to have escaped from
the Cylons and a raider lands on the Galactica and
it's clear that the DAMA knows who he is.
Speaker 2 (06:48):
Took a DMA minute though he could have gotten shot
down real quick, but then later investigations show that he
should have been shot down really quick. Yeah, it seems
very quote unquote escapes from the Silence, but they left
the door open.
Speaker 3 (07:01):
It's very convenient that Starbucking Cat couldn't seem to shoot
him down right away, even though they shot down the
other two raiders like boom boom, and it's like, wait,
gotta line up my shot hold.
Speaker 2 (07:11):
On, everybody, hold on, I need perfect conditions. I need
a slow down.
Speaker 3 (07:15):
I think it kind of references Season one where Starbucks
flew the raider.
Speaker 2 (07:20):
Yeah, I was really confused how he figured that out.
It took her forever to figure that out. It took
her forever when she landed and she got in that
guey thing. It took her a really long time to
figure out how to drive. That you were escaping and
you thought people were after you, I don't think you'd
have enough time to figure it out. But they gave
him like an hour and a half or something.
Speaker 3 (07:42):
Yeah, Well they were all quote unquote sick, so right, Yeah.
I think it also kind of references the arrival of
Ellen Tye because like a new person, person from the
past just kind of shows up out of nowhere because
the yeah.
Speaker 2 (07:56):
They did the silon test. Now they finally figured it
out because they have a real doctor doing it and
not some skeevy scientist.
Speaker 3 (08:05):
So Roslin is skeptical of him, and Adama kind of
gives her the story about.
Speaker 2 (08:10):
How he fucked him over.
Speaker 3 (08:11):
Well, no, he doesn't tell her that at first. First,
he's like he was shot down by the cylons on
something to do with some colonists that were trying to
look for tillium near the Armiscice line.
Speaker 2 (08:23):
Whatever the fuck that means tillium that's.
Speaker 3 (08:25):
Their their fuel. Oh okay, yeah, she doesn't believe that. No,
Dama's getting sweaty, so he goes to Tie.
Speaker 2 (08:32):
Yeah, that was really interesting that when he felt like
there was no one to turn to, he went to
the one person who was there with him through it all,
And that kind of shows their relationship in a lot
of ways, how Tye has held him down in so
many ways. He's like, even in the flashbacks, he's like,
(08:52):
you're not you don't want to do this, Bill, which
we're not used to seeing that in this atteration of
Bill's command, where Tie's like you don't want to do this,
He's usually like, yeah, I don't know about pull the trigger. Yeah.
So it's it's interesting to see Colonel Tye being the
one who's very restrained and cautious and wanting to save
(09:14):
his people. And it's interesting how it kind of shows
how Adama has grown as a leader and as a
as a person who tries to take care of his
people instead of throwing them under the bus in a way. Yeah,
because he let fear rule his decision making in that moment,
and I think that's his fear is coming back to
(09:34):
him and the person he could confide in his Tie.
So that was that was beautifully written. I did enjoy
that part.
Speaker 3 (09:40):
Yeah, And then their their friendship is not on great
terms right now, so it adds a whole other layer
to it. So then Adama goes to his son Lee
and tells him the real story, and that's kind of
intercut with Bulldog and Tie having a conversation where Tye
reveals the truth the bull Dog, which is that they
(10:01):
were on a reconmission to spy on the Cylons and
Adama had to shoot down Bulldog ship right and thought
he was dead.
Speaker 2 (10:09):
I was hoping he was dead, yeah, because now that
he's alive and put a wrench in his idealistic view
of what happened, and reality set in. Oh, I really
did try to kill you. Yeah, And that was interesting.
I thought it was. I feel like if Tye and
Bill were on a different level of their friendship, or
if they were talking or more friendly, Tye probably would
(10:31):
not have revealed all that to Danny yep, But I
think his anger led him to tell the truth. Which
I think the Cylons knew the truth.
Speaker 3 (10:40):
Yeah they did, so I'm like they had this card
up their sleeve for a while, Like why did they
wait to release him?
Speaker 2 (10:48):
Maybe they just didn't know where he was where they were.
I thought it was interesting that he magically showed up
right where they are in this vast area called space. Oh,
I was in your neighbor Hi. You don't just randomly
show up somewhere, Like, how did he get there? Did
the Silons? They were like, oh, you know what, they're
(11:10):
in our neighborhood right now, they're within raider distance or whatever.
Let's let him out right now and he'll be there
in like a couple of hours. So I think that's
that might have been the motivating his location, location location.
It's weird that they didn't just like after he showed
up and obviously like nothing happened. I'm surprised they didn't
(11:30):
send out more Cylon raiders to attack, or their fleet
or anything else. This is a poor battle plan sending
one guy out. It will almost work, though, but I
don't know if you take out the leader, if you
really win the war, I think it's a big blow.
I do believe it would have devastated Battlestar Galactica. But
(11:51):
and the fleet itself, Like, but, I mean we still
have a baby Adama, and we have Tie and and
all of the other people to take up arms.
Speaker 3 (12:01):
Yeah, I mean maybe they're just thinking that, you know,
how many battles have they been in with the Battlestar,
and like, even though the Cylon should have the upper hand,
they always the battles are always seems to persist. So
they can change up the leadership. Maybe they can maybe, yeah,
shake it up in their favor.
Speaker 2 (12:17):
Moving upon, I guess is what they were doing providing
their time on board.
Speaker 3 (12:21):
Yeah, and if the truth can kind of sew discontent
and mistrust among the crew, that can weaken them as well.
Speaker 2 (12:28):
Right, And that's why Laura wanted to give him a
medal to make people feel warm and fuzzy.
Speaker 3 (12:34):
Yeah, and Starbuck, he's down in the basement watching footage
of the gun cameras from the Raiders.
Speaker 2 (12:42):
And something wasn't sitting right with her.
Speaker 3 (12:44):
Yeah, so she and her apparently best friend Tie are
suspicious of the whole scenario.
Speaker 2 (12:51):
Yeah, it's interesting that she brings it to Tie. I
feel like Tye is the person that everyone's coming to
in this episode.
Speaker 3 (12:57):
Yeah, he's a popular guy in.
Speaker 2 (12:59):
This episode, he's normally not that popular.
Speaker 3 (13:02):
I don't. Yeah, I know he needs to like put
out a welcome matt and stuff on his door because
getting a lot of attention.
Speaker 2 (13:07):
He has to put away those dresses. Gotna get them
wrinkled anyway. But as he's doing, as they're kind of
discovery that this is this is suspicious, Adama gets a
phone call, because it is a phone call, like a
literal old timey telephone call, that Danny wants to speak
to him, and it's actually no, Danny wants to fucking
(13:27):
give him a knuckle sandwich. And I thought it was
so funny how easily Adama was just knocked out. It's
like that man is not prepared. He should have been
a little bit more like defensive or more like aware
that this might not be the best interaction. But I
guess he didn't know that Danny knows that the truth. Yeah,
(13:50):
he thinks they're still cool and he gets knocked the
fuck out. He drops like a stone.
Speaker 3 (13:55):
Yeah. I feel like Adama is he'd be like a
hard guy to knock off his feet, But if you
accomplish that, I think he falls hard.
Speaker 2 (14:02):
Yeah, and he Yeah. I think he had the element
of surprise in his side, and Adama obviously was not
expecting any sort of negative interaction. He was like, Oh,
he just wants to talk to me, maybe catch up,
which is really naive of him to not think like, oh,
this guy's been talking. Maybe he talked to Tye or
you know, because ty knows he's not the only one
(14:22):
who knows the truth.
Speaker 3 (14:23):
Well. He also Bulldog also said like is urgent, So
I think Adama should have been concerned in some degree whether.
Speaker 2 (14:30):
It was more alert and aware of your surroundies at least,
But no, he just got knocked the fuck out like
a little bit. Maybe it speaks to Bulldog's like tenacity too,
and his like anger and his ability to be like
his anger, like his his and his ability for violence
in that moment, because he was ready to not like
(14:52):
knock him off his block for real forever. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (14:55):
Then thankfully, exactly one eye drunk is able to take
out a guy that works out every day.
Speaker 2 (15:03):
Who's been in jail, Yeah, who's been in prison and
had nothing to do but reps.
Speaker 3 (15:09):
Yeah, and then they kind of able to convince Bulldog
that he's doing exactly what the Cylons wanted to do.
Speaker 2 (15:15):
And I think that like causes a lot of issues
with him too, because in the end, he's no longer
hanging out in Galactica. He doesn't want to be affiliated
with military. He's ashamed almost. Yeah, so that was interesting.
Speaker 3 (15:27):
Well, he was, you know, kind of used as a
pawn by the Colonials and then used as a pawn
by the Cylons. He's just a pawn, not choosing anything
for himself.
Speaker 2 (15:37):
Yeah. I think he'd better he'd be better off as
a civilian, and I think that's a good choice. But
it's unfortunate that we're losing a potentially very interesting character
on the series because he's leaving. I don't and that
usually means you're not coming back.
Speaker 3 (15:53):
Yeah, I mean he is still alive, but I'm just
going to go ahead and say, like, we're not going
to see him again.
Speaker 2 (15:58):
That's not a spoiler, it's not his storyline never comes
back up.
Speaker 3 (16:03):
Yeah, because it would be interesting if, like next season,
he had kind of rehabilitated and wanted to get back
in the fight or have some sort of interaction with it.
Speaker 2 (16:12):
I mean, he's a great pilot, he's him along with
Starbuck are one of the only two people who have
ever figured out how to how to fly a Cylon Raider,
and he figured out how to do that, and probably
half the time Starbuck did. It'd be it'd be so
fucking interesting to have him as a c ac or whatever,
like the guy who yeah with the nuggets. Yeah, but
(16:35):
that's not this show. It probably would have pissed off
a lot of sci fi nerds.
Speaker 3 (16:39):
Maybe. So, then Adama's trying to resign, Roslin forces a
metal on him, and because people need to see him
as a hero, we need a hero.
Speaker 2 (16:49):
Yeah, I think, uh, that's the best punishment for him.
You have to stay at your job. You can't resign.
You can't retire. Sure, you're like in your sixties and
you've probably seen the best of your years, but no,
you have to stay.
Speaker 3 (17:09):
If he resigned in that moment, I think that would
put Hilo in command of the fleet.
Speaker 2 (17:14):
That would have been a weird silence for everybody.
Speaker 3 (17:20):
But yeah, so, I mean, Adala thinks that the Kieloans
started the War of the Cylons, and Roslin kind of
has to spell it out that, like, nothing is that
black and white. You were given orders by the Admiralty
that were probably wanting to provoke a war. Yeah, in
a lot of ways, he's just following orders. He's upon two.
Speaker 2 (17:38):
That's the thing that she really played, like cleared up
for him, Like, you are very much in the same
position that Bulldog was in in that you didn't really
have control over what you were doing because of your assignment.
You didn't choose to put yourself in the situation other
people did. But what does that mean, you know, to
(17:59):
accept that, to accept that you're upon, Like, it's kind
of sad that one person gets to choose to walk
away from that kind of life and another person has
to stay in it and will continue to be subjected
to that kind of treatment and behavior because even though
(18:20):
he is the top ranking military person in that room,
he still has to answer to Laura and the government,
And I guess we all do in a way as
people who live in a world with a society. But
it's just it was interesting that this drove him to
quit this. This is what caused him to be like,
I don't want to do this anymore because I don't
(18:42):
feel like I feel like he's done way worse shit,
Like remember when they wanted you to genocide. Do you
not remember that? Like, you almost annihilated a whole race
of people, But you were cool with that as long
as you didn't sign the orders. But now today, all
of a sudden, even though you didn't sign these orders
(19:03):
to go into this area, you feel guilty. You crossed
a border. Maybe it's the Latino in him. I don't know.
That's fucked up. I'm sorry.
Speaker 3 (19:13):
I'm not going to react to that.
Speaker 2 (19:17):
Now.
Speaker 3 (19:17):
She calls him naive for thinking of it in such
a simple manner.
Speaker 2 (19:21):
Yeah, I think it's more nuanced. I think she's really right.
Speaker 3 (19:24):
The world is nuanced, all if shades of gray and
can't bear the fault of it on your own, and
you have to attend the ceremony, which is the worst punishment.
Speaker 2 (19:32):
Yeah, I think that's if you feel guilty about something,
you want to be punished. I think that's what Adama's doing,
is he wants to be punished, which I'm sure Laura
punish him.
Speaker 3 (19:43):
So. But they're so informal with each other now, calling
to their Bill and Laura.
Speaker 2 (19:52):
Yeah, yeah, you can tell they're comfortable with each other, just.
Speaker 3 (19:55):
Calling each other up whenever they feel like it. So
we send Bulldog off to as a civilian, and Adama
and Ty finally sit down to talk about Ty's feelings
about Ellen and everything going on. Even he's somewhat cleaned up.
I mean, he got that eyepatch, which I think is
some sort of self care. I guess that he's said that.
Speaker 2 (20:14):
A gross little gauze thing that he's been putting on.
How old do you think that is? I'm glad they
didn't make it look gross and dirty.
Speaker 3 (20:22):
Yeah, it always looks clean, so I assume he's changing
it and he's probably cleaning out his eye socket some
alcohol or something.
Speaker 2 (20:28):
I don't know. How do you take care of an
eyeball like that. I think you have to lub it
up if you. It would be cool if they could.
The technology probably isn't there, but it would be cool
if they could like give him a cyborg guy or
something like a jod Ie, you know from a Star Trek,
only like instead of the full band. It'd be like
a like just a like a skull cap thing that
(20:50):
goes over one eye and it's just like radar or something.
That'd be cool. The show is not that though. They're
like lo fi. Yeah, I don't I don't know how
I feel about the color of the eye patch, the
fact that it's the same color as the skin.
Speaker 3 (21:03):
I mean, I don't know if he had like his
choice of colors.
Speaker 2 (21:06):
If you had to pick an eye patch, what would
it be like.
Speaker 3 (21:09):
I would hope I could get like a variety pack
that I could match with my outfit.
Speaker 2 (21:13):
So you'd have like one that's a military patch that's
like trimmed out like the uniform, with a little with
maybe like a little metal on it.
Speaker 3 (21:23):
It would have like little tiny buttons going down like
matching their jackets.
Speaker 2 (21:28):
There you go with like a little cross thing on it,
a little lapel on the eye patch, and then like
your regular outside of military uniform would look like their shirts,
a little cross. I follow this girl on TikTok who
wears glass eyes or prosthetic eyes, and yeah, I don't
(21:48):
know if we have the technology to doupe that at
this time. Even currently, it's so interesting to see somebody
without an eye. She puts in like these really cool
prosthetics that are like glittery or like her regular eye,
and you can't tell when it's like a fake eye.
It just doesn't move as much. It's really interesting. I
think it's kind of cool that we have representation for
(22:11):
people who are visually impaired, because if you're missing an eye,
you are visually impaired. So it's kind of cool that
we have that kind of representation. We don't see a
lot of disabled people on TV, and so that's kind
of cool.
Speaker 1 (22:25):
Yep.
Speaker 3 (22:25):
And there's not going to be some magic sci fi
fix for it, no, Yeah, this is how he's going
to be going forward.
Speaker 2 (22:32):
I should have ripped his nose off that with dope.
Speaker 3 (22:35):
So one other story thing going on that we should
talk about is on the Sylon based star Deanna number
three is having some bad dreams and then she's realizes
she can kind of have some visions in between dying
and resurrecting, and we see a little bit of the
oppera house. We don't really know what's going on, but
(22:58):
they'll explore that further.
Speaker 2 (22:59):
Yeah, she's kind of cuckoo but nane Yeah, and partaking
in three ways yep.
Speaker 3 (23:04):
Both are has a bed to accommodate.
Speaker 2 (23:07):
His prisoner status has definitely changed from when we first
saw him on that Chase lounge. Yeah, I was sad
that there was no not a lot of baltar in
this or not a lot of Starbuck, not a lot
of other characters that I like to see and enjoy.
Give the show a little bit of levity astrol queen.
Speaker 1 (23:30):
Who was the standout character in the episode.
Speaker 3 (23:33):
Who was a standout character in the episode.
Speaker 2 (23:37):
I'm gonna give it to Bulldog. Bulldog, Yeah, going through
a journey and understanding his role and how he's been
manipulated and still taking it in stride and being able
to move forward with that was powerful. I think he
came in cool, like he was cool. He came and
covered in slime, and he left like looking clean.
Speaker 3 (23:55):
That's a pretty good arc to have. I came into
the world covered in slime.
Speaker 2 (24:00):
Ooh, going, you're mom.
Speaker 3 (24:06):
I think I'm gonna pick Colonel Tye for my astral queen.
Speaker 2 (24:09):
Oh yeah, he was in everybody's ear that today.
Speaker 3 (24:12):
Yeah. Before we watched the episode, I was thinking I
was going to pick Starbuck because she kind of puts
in the work to realize that his escape was first
coordinated and that he was probably up to something which
leads the tie saving Adama. But I just had a
lot more to do, and he goes through some personal growth,
(24:33):
kind of getting back on his feet, getting out of
his room.
Speaker 2 (24:36):
Yeah, you can tell he's still mourning, Helen Ellen.
Speaker 3 (24:39):
Yeah, and he's going to go work on his friendship
bill Adama, which is his.
Speaker 2 (24:45):
Last relationship that he has. Really that's meaningful and long lassy.
Speaker 3 (24:49):
Yeah, except his new friend Starbucks.
Speaker 2 (24:51):
Well, yeah, that's new, that's different, and who knows how
long that's going to last. They're so volatile, both of them.
Speaker 3 (24:59):
All right, So Tie and Bulldog are getting the Astrol
Queen Award and that does it for the main part
of our episode. We have a quick spoiler section coming up,
but if you don't want to be spoiled, then get out,
get out, go join Bulldog with the rest of the fleet.
Vilion sounds like an see you next time for the
(25:21):
episode Unfinished Business, which, by the way, we're going to
watch an extended cut of that episode.
Speaker 2 (25:27):
How do you get access to that, Well.
Speaker 3 (25:29):
It's available on the DVD and Blu rays. I don't
know that you're going to find it streaming, but if
you do watch that the original aired version, I will
go through in the trivia what was added to the
Sindon cut, so we can talk about all of it.
But yeah, we're going to spoilers.
Speaker 2 (25:45):
Seo styl in this group.
Speaker 1 (25:50):

whole series, now is the time to say goodbye. Remember
you can contact us at Spacingoutpod at gmail dot com,
find us on Facebook and Twitter, share your thoughts and
be a part of the discussion. Spoilers in five four
(26:12):
three two one.
Speaker 2 (26:14):
Well, obviously, the easiest spoiler that we even talked about
during the episode was that Bulldog never returns.
Speaker 3 (26:20):
Yep, I don't even think they mentioned him again.
Speaker 2 (26:22):
Never again.
Speaker 3 (26:23):
This was much more of a standalone episode.
Speaker 2 (26:27):
This was a character development for a DAMA episode.
Speaker 3 (26:31):
Yeah, very much so. Yeah, we keep talking about ty
and Kara Thrace and their their friendship. We kind of
get to explore more of that in the next episode.
Speaker 2 (26:41):
Because when they make out I'm just kidding, I'm just kidding,
that's not a spoiler, that's a that's a prank. They
can't a sloppy grease Chris from the Colonel Tye. I
(27:02):
wish there was something like that in like the archives,
where they're like, let's just jokingly kiss, just a fuck
with the fan base.
Speaker 3 (27:10):
The next episode is a lot of flashbacks. July, we're
gonna be back on New Kaprica for a lot of it,
and it's really it's exploring relationships. There's no like Xylon
attacks or anything looming. It's all about kind of Kara
and Anders and uh Dee and.
Speaker 2 (27:29):
Lee d and Lee that we haven't heard about them
in a while, and a lot of boxing. This is
that boxing episode.
Speaker 3 (27:37):
Yeah, I'm a feeling you're not gonna like it as much.
Speaker 2 (27:39):
Yeah. I like boxing. I don't like fake boxing. I
need to suit that's funny. So they had a Rocky
two reference in this episode and now they're doing a
full boxing episode.
Speaker 3 (27:53):
Yeap.
Speaker 2 (27:53):
So there's some real boxing fans in the writing room.
Speaker 3 (27:58):
And we have seen Adama and Leadama like sparring before.
Speaker 2 (28:03):
Yeah, remember when he and d were on top of
each other. Yeah, sparked the romance.
Speaker 3 (28:10):
What else is relevant? I guess number three we'll get boxed, Well, yeah,
not a boxing ring, but she'll get.
Speaker 2 (28:16):
She'll get boxed in the metaphorical s.
Speaker 3 (28:20):
Her line will be discontinued.
Speaker 2 (28:22):
Does she like just continue to shoot herself in the
face and they're like, you've had enough?
Speaker 3 (28:26):
Yeah, So what she's realizing in that vision is like
she is starting to make out like who the final
five are. So she's continually pursuing.
Speaker 2 (28:35):
That she's riding that death train, but like it's like
a drug for her.
Speaker 3 (28:40):
Yeah. I think she's definitely getting some sort of high
off it too.
Speaker 2 (28:43):
Yeah, And they're like, no, you can't have that.
Speaker 3 (28:46):
Is chasing that and they're not allowed to talk about
Final five. So that's a problem. That's all I can
think of anything relevant for you.
Speaker 2 (28:54):
Nah, not really.
Speaker 3 (28:55):
Well, then we will see you next time for unfinished Business,
So say we all all right, bye bye.
