Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hey, fundamentals and techniques, that's the key, right sixteen minutes,
right sixty minutes. I would like to welcome the Sports

(00:26):
Talk Uncensored MLB edition for the MLB review for the
American League, the New York Yankees, the Yankees. I gave
my a they lost in the World Series to the
Dodgers for the one. The Yankee season got off a
little rough despite adding one Soto get trade, but he
started off the season looking like the al MVP until

(00:48):
he got hurt for a little bit and then Judge
took it from there.

Speaker 2 (00:51):
Have a looked back.

Speaker 1 (00:52):
So another MVP season by Iron Judge lead the way.
You know where the help want Soto. They were able
to ride that all to the World Series, so good
moved there. Like the trade that they made for Chisholm
has really helped him out, giving them that third piece.
I mean, you can consider John Carlos Stanton that third
piece while he was doing the playoff run where he

(01:15):
really stepped out. So I think fans need to finally
give him his props. At the years of being blamed
for Judge not coming up big enough, they always blamed Stanton.
Stanton did a good job, but what Soto, judge Chisholm Stanton.
They were able to ride the bats all the way
out or hot players right there who can do it all.
Pitching stead was pretty decent. I mean they waved on

(01:36):
Gary Cole to come back. Took a little bit to
get back in the form, but of course he's still
one of the top players the game and picture.

Speaker 2 (01:44):
Even though he's not number one anymore.

Speaker 1 (01:47):
That's the quartet who was looking like he had regained
his swarm from two seasons ago. But he had a
pretty decent season, just couldn't really get all the wins.
He didn't always get support that he needed. It was
a little inconsistent at TIMS. Carlos Rendon had a good
rebound season though another lefty that he had so nice
season by him all the way out through the postseason.

(02:09):
The young players were able to get some time and
shortstop Anthony Bolpey, who got a lot of experience this year,
as well as outfielder Jason Dominez who was able to
get some value experience due to injuries. So nice to
see him finally get some bump. Even though they decided
not to use them in the playoffs. I would let
them get that experience as well, but definitely looking forward

(02:30):
to a bigger role from him.

Speaker 2 (02:32):
Alix Worth Dugo they picked up Ba trade. He had
a decent season, so he.

Speaker 1 (02:36):
Was another fan favorite guy who really caught on just
despite not having a grill like he did in Boston
and they made him shave his beer. But solid season
by him stepping up when they needed him. Still a
good player that plays the defense as well. Second basement
Flavor Torres, he had a good season. They really needed him.
The infield struggled a lot, went back to Anthony Rizzo

(02:59):
breaking down in his base during the season and during
the postseason. And then dj le Mayo who was a
good on bass player that really found his foot in
the last season. But also the pitching staff had a
good fine with Luis Hill and an al Rookie of
the Year. I mean, he's a more of a veteran pitcher,
but this his first year really getting time, so Heill

(03:21):
was able to turn that into being the number one
wild gard Cole was out, even though he did regrets
a little bit once cold return, but they really relied
on him a lot. So solid season so gave the
Yankees an a I mean, they made it to the
World Series. I don't think too many people had him
there this solid season, could have got the eight plus
day to pull it off, said, not really fully built roster.

Speaker 2 (03:44):
But they did what they had to do, so I
like for the Orioles.

Speaker 1 (03:48):
I gave him a b He lost in a wild
card to the Royals, which made me kind of think, like,
what if the Orioles would have decided to just go
with Bobby with Jr.

Speaker 2 (03:58):
Over Hadley Rushing.

Speaker 1 (04:00):
I know you don't want to overload the position having
Bobby with and Gunna. Gunna could play second base, you know,
to see Bobby would be the start of the series. Kind
of wow when you think about it, that Riols could
have had him as well. But on another note, though,
I mean Gunna had solid season. He really let them
this year, really becoming a local and fan favorite, especially

(04:21):
with the mustache look. You know that really going on.
People really liked that. So Elie Rushman had a solid season. Man,
it was hard to find the catcher, but he was
able to his own base. He just didn't really show
how that you wanted to see, especially from a catcher posion,
but looking forward to see him continue to grow.

Speaker 2 (04:38):
Jordan Westburgh was a player that I like.

Speaker 1 (04:40):
This season, he really showed up with ability to play
second base and third base.

Speaker 2 (04:44):
He did suffer injuries, but a lot of growth by him.

Speaker 1 (04:48):
Same bowl with Coke and Cow's in the outfield, seems
to player I didn't believe in last season, but he
really showed out this year, really became a fan favorite,
saying a lot of Cal jerseys and a lot of
col outfits just to show support for him, so fans
really love him. Then, of course, you know the guy
leading away, Tony Taylor's Anthony Santander. He did a good job,

(05:10):
you know, he started off slow but started to get
them home runs going and the bad and average wasn't
as high as you would like, but they really need
the power in the lineup. That was mostly just him
and Gun, and Gun is not really the power guy,
so it was really Tony Taytors. Bryan o'hearen continues to
find good production at Camdy Yards. Just a solid pick

(05:31):
up at d H and first base. Bryan Melcastle was
still that guy that he hyped him to be, but
the injuries have been falling on his production. But he's
another power back lineup that they really need, you know,
they really need to see him healthy and stay healthy
for most of the season. I really liked Austin Hayes,
but he had a down season this year, leading him
getting traded for open help. But that didn't really help either.

(05:54):
As I said in the off season, I didn't really
like them picking up Craig Kimball. That came back to
bite him, you know, when he started doing them saves
like he always did, but he did it more late
the season before the postseason even started, giving them a
tough decision there. Of course, the Orioles started the season
trading for Picture Corvin Barns in the Milwaukee Brewers. Solid
pick up there, which my red size, but they did

(06:16):
a different note there. But he was number two in
the cy Young for the al and he had a
regular season then leading away, you know, moving Grace and
Rodriguez back to the number two spot where he belonged. Yeah,
the solid season, but the other Pictures just couldn't seem
to stay healthy, all having uc out injuries. They Dean
Kramer to move up the depth chart. He just couldn't

(06:38):
really handle the pressure. Orioles did trade for Sack Epplin
later in the season. I was able to see him live,
so he looked pretty good and he had a good
season save as the number one with Tampa Bay, so
to move back into his normal number three row.

Speaker 2 (06:51):
He felt real comfortable with the Orioles, but.

Speaker 1 (06:53):
It still wasn't enough going into the postseason that the
Bats went cold. Orioles, you know, I thought they could
have done a lot more. You know, they just really
didn't want to part with them prospects. I mean they
did part for prospects, but pitching Tannis Guy belief he
was to help, even though he does still have potential.

Speaker 2 (07:10):
So I gave it a big Like I said, they
shouldn't have lost to the Royals.

Speaker 1 (07:13):
That's a tough way to go out to a team who,
you know, wasn't really on the trajectory that Orils was on.
Oris a lot further a here. It looked like the
Oils were running away al East at first till the
Yankees caught up. When the Bats got slow, supposed to
just gone in Tony Tatus. So it'll be interesting to
see if they keep go up and burns going forward

(07:35):
next to the Red Socks, I can see. Plus my
Red Soxs was a little disappointing. I mean, we did
finished third in the Al East, which surprised me. So
I did give him to seat plus. But you know
they hyped a lot about spending money in the off season,
but still fort with cheap route. You know, they started
off moving Chris Sale, who turned out to be a mistake.
You know, we really wanted to move the contract, so

(07:57):
we traded Chris Sale to the braves on Gresham. We
never really saw the field and Chriscilla went on to
win the n LSI Young and we signed Lucas Giolito.
Lucas gie Leedo was between three teams last season. He
was a solid player with the White Sox, but it
just went all downhill from there and we picked him
up and then of course he got hurt for the

(08:17):
season even started, so we never got to see.

Speaker 2 (08:20):
Him in action, but we do have an option on
him for them to come back.

Speaker 1 (08:24):
Pitcher stand played pretty well, you know, they had one
of the best eris and to start the season we
got a weird pitching stand. We're playing some kind of
play boat in the ball and it started but we
would lay a BYuT ace Brian Bale, Baby Pedro as
I called him, as he continued to learn from page Lamartinez,
but he can't quite put it together. I mean, it

(08:44):
was a decent season by him, but definitely expected a
lot more from him as our ace. But the picture
stand played pretty well until he got exposed more towards
the end of the season. We did take a chance
from outfield and Tyler O'Neil. You know, a nice home
run hit in the prospect just can't stay healthy the
cards and waiting to get rid of that. Sounded out
to be a solid risk as he came in and

(09:06):
did his thing. He's still healthy for the most part.
Had a lot of home runs for us. Definitely a
lot of offense from Toddle O'Neill for solid rental. There
were to get production from outfit to Jaron Durand proved
to be a solid base stealer and lead off hit
him and doubles in his home run and start things
off still led by the baby face assassin Ralphie Old

(09:28):
Devil holding it down to third base. He did get
hurt for a little bit, but definitely held his own
for the most part. He kind of solto asque. Like
I said, you wouldn't be surprised if be hitting two
home runs in the same game, solid left hand ahead
of them, finally catching Connor Wong, you know, in the
second season, had another solid season holding down to catch

(09:49):
a position. You know, we've been looking for somebody to
hold down the position for a while. He's been solid,
able to catch the first base DH. So solid production
by Connor Wong, who was basically a throwing that David
Price trade with the Dodgers. Young first basement Tristan Constance,
you know, even solid when he was healthy. The problem

(10:09):
was he couldn't stay healthy, leaving for his name to
be trade room. But they more so saw him as
like our prize at the trade deadline with at least
like we're getting Constats back, so that's like getting the
solid player back. And he did play well man six
five two forty four. He hit a lot of on runs.
But I say, they just need to stay healthy for us.

(10:31):
It'll be interesting to see what they do with him
going forward. That's attacker Yoshita got exposed this year. Much
defense at him, so we're trying to hide him at
the D spot.

Speaker 2 (10:42):
This year.

Speaker 1 (10:43):
He suffered with injuries when we really needed him. I
guess we canna continue to hire him in the DA spot.
Definitely more of on basehader. But good then we didn't
sign him to a long contract, so he'd be gone
Sam hopefully we trade him on about it there. It
definitely do some better production. We didn't know what's spend
because I wanted Andrew Ben intended he went for around

(11:03):
the same price. They both similar players on base side players.
But the injuries didn't help. Of course, the organization is
still selling the Trevor's story the answer shortstop, but he
can't seem to stay healthy as well. That was a
wasting long term contract. Then he's okay when he plays
another player that can get on base at this point,

(11:25):
not really showing any power didn't show up this year,
but they weren't able to see grow by the players
like wall Gray here, who's a Donnie. Ralphaela just with
the injuries, he's showing a lot of power forwards taking
over for Yoshida.

Speaker 2 (11:39):
So that was good production.

Speaker 1 (11:41):
Then Ralphaella could bounce around from different positions, his speed,
his athletics, you know, getting a surprise homework from him
here and there there's an athletic player. Manuel Valdez didn't
really grow at second base like I really thought eventually
growing to that spot or provide good death down season him.
We did bring it Danny Jensen from the Blue Jays,

(12:04):
but he did what he usually do. You know, give
that high Street like Danny Jensen. Pretty good. But then
he showed you why he was backup catching. So he
did the same thing with us that he did with them.
So I gave it a C plus. I said, not
the best of the season, but we got production, stayed in
the mix.

Speaker 2 (12:20):
Early in the season.

Speaker 1 (12:22):
You know, we did fall out the wild card late
in the year, the pitch getting exposed, the bats capt
us in a love games, just a real feisty team
that really gave up the manager Alex Corps. So we
give it a seat plus. Could have been a lot better,
could have spent the money a lot better. But the
B plus start ce ending, So I'm giving a C plus.

(12:43):
Tampa Bay Rays, he gave a CE some more mid
level season, said they wasn't a mixed early in the
season playing you know, mid level baseball, and then in
the end just society to do the most mid market
teams didn't just get off some big contracts, which made
a lot of sense, was adding a lot of prospects
to the team. They started the season with all three

(13:04):
of their pictures being hurt, Shane mcallahan, Shane Boz decent springs.
They're the team that keeps a lot of pitching around.
That's usually their specialty. So basically what they did was
just moved Zach Epplin, put a lot of money into
before moved him up to the East spot. The Aaron Savali,

(13:25):
who was a pitcher they picked up from the Guardians,
was seen their potential a couple of seasons ago. They
moved him up into the number two spot, where he
did an old k job. Later in the season, they
decided to sell off both contracts, moving Epplin to the
Orioles for prospects, moving Savali to the Brewers for prospects.
Just mentioned during the off season, you know, they traded

(13:46):
for Ron Pepio, pitcher from the Dodgers. He played pretty well.
Another cheap young pitcher was there. The ones they had
already like Todd Bradley and Zach Latrell. They both played
well as well or pretty good picture of production out
of them. As usual, I said, moving off two big contracts,
they kind of made mistakes for a kind of overpaid

(14:08):
for affling was pretty productive.

Speaker 2 (14:11):
Of the bets first.

Speaker 1 (14:12):
Basically and the DS thing used to be consistent, so
not really the MVP type season in the head last
year for the injury, but just another decent season out
of him. Decided to keep him around instead of trading
him away. He's on a pretty good contract though, especially
for the production once he got back from injuries. Brandon
Lowell really let the teams. Basically the hottest bat on

(14:33):
the team for most of the season. Nice high Street
by Brandon Lowell. Josh Lowell similar with him, He had
injuries to start this either. He was a hot player
from the season before. He just couldn't really get going.
But his brother plays for the Texas Rangers. It's kind
of his blood to play as well. But down season

(14:53):
about him. The original star Randy and Rose Arena came
in with a cold season the state throughout the season.
I think it was more so playing for Team Mexico.
He just played too much baseball during the year just
turned out. So then they're trading him away to the Miners,
even though they still had a good control contract. You

(15:14):
might have maxed out already, so I'm not sure if
he's tied or he maxed out.

Speaker 2 (15:18):
We'll see over time.

Speaker 1 (15:19):
Even he did play pretty well for the Miners, but
still wasn't you know who he was, so it could
be the right time I outfield the Jose Serie. He
had a hot street the home runs during the season,
but just bad and never wasn't good at all. But
they needed that production so jury didn't help as well.
It took a while from the regame in power again,

(15:41):
really struggling with the trade with the Miners early in
the season the Jose Cabellero the Luke Bradley train that
turned out pretty well with cabeller are able to fill
in the second base and short stop. Eventually settled in
the shortstop after they let go mar Rosario, trading him
back to the Dolgers. That was a little shock of
Rose Area. Played well to started to see a short

(16:03):
stop looking like he was a good rental at the position,
but they decided let him go and move Cable over
the short stop full time. Taylor Walls a player that
they really liked. We played like short stop second base
often all over. He struggled once he came back injuries,
never really finding the form that he found for the
season before. Maybe that's why they was a short stop

(16:26):
shut down season. My walls Isaac perettas third base. He
had a high streak at home runs, but then he
went cold. They ended up trading him away for younger
playing Christian Morele Cubs. But Morell did the same thing.
He did the same thing with the Cubs with basically
he had but he had a high home run street
and then ended up going cold as well. Even trade

(16:49):
there to me, I said, decent season. I said they
got a pretty good pitching production in the Vants were okay,
so they stayed in the wild card mix, but just
started trade off some contracts to help financially.

Speaker 2 (17:01):
Going board and picking up a lot of prospects. Look,
games were safe.

Speaker 1 (17:05):
That could have been worse, but more business mind it
moves given it even for the Toronto Blue Jays became
a c minors. They went to bot him in the
Al East, which wasn't expected at all.

Speaker 2 (17:17):
I mean this season started were kind of weird.

Speaker 1 (17:20):
I said they wanted old Tany and threw a lot
of money at him, but then decided to be cheap
after he turned him down. Said they really should have
brought back therap basement. Matt Chapman, I know he's one
of them Boris pons as for a lot of money
at first, but his asking price did go down and
he went to the jobs for cheap. So I'm not
sure why the Blue Jays didn't manage that tany not coming.

(17:41):
The question more for them at the time was you know,
what did they do? They had Guerrero but Chet to
a less extent Cavin video with the MLB son but play.
Guerrero had started the season I wouldn't say really cold,
but he just wasn't his you himself, he was more
so hit average, really getting the home runs that he

(18:01):
used to, and then in but set he was ice cold.
He wasn't really doing much to start to see really
low on his trade value as well.

Speaker 2 (18:10):
His trade value did.

Speaker 1 (18:11):
After that and then Cavin Veggio never really took the
next step, so they ended up letting him go. So
the game plan got in the change for the Blue
James where they were like, you know, I guess we'll
just build around Flad once they put all the eggs
and blad basket. Once the shock got hurt, then he
started to do what he needed to do. So now
he's looking like the franchise player chat looked like they

(18:33):
player they're gonna practiceself loan or risk losing for nothing
trying to rebound. And then they have a third player
and George Springer, who was more veteran at this point.
He started off cold as well before getting high Street
playing that lead opposition. Like I said, I can hurt
a lot of players average, but he came back and
got hot, played like you himself. So as a question

(18:56):
that they should sell on him as well. But decent
season by him, especially made to late in the season
when they needed him.

Speaker 2 (19:03):
Say, especially with a shoutout Dalton bar Show trade is still.

Speaker 1 (19:06):
Looking a little lopsided. Dabel Moreno had a bad season
this season as well, But Dalton Barshall is not really
what they thought he were getting. Well, especially about Dalton
Barshall that he could play catcher in outfield, so he's
more like a power catcher, but in the outfield he
has average defense.

Speaker 2 (19:25):
And above average power. That's kind of what they've been getting.

Speaker 1 (19:28):
Started out cold, but then he ended up hitting a
lot of home run meant to late the season, but
still not that guy that they thought that they were
getting when he's traded for him, they had picked up
veteran Justin Turner, who thought he was joining the upcoming
team that was looking to make the next step with
him being a veteran player. Of course he wanted to
playing for a team that's playing in the playoffs, but

(19:49):
he didn't get that chance. So decent production by him,
especially at that age, but not the season that he
looked forward to. These other injuries as well. The catching
position was supposed to be his triump. While they never
probably put our show there, but Alejandro Kirk and Danny
Jenson old Struggle said. Kirk did get hot for a
little bit, but not enough definitely not to play. He was,

(20:12):
as I say in the Red Sox part. You know
Danny Jansen get hot for a little bit, mostly on base,
a couple of surprise home runs, but once you play
him a little too much, so you get exposed as well,
so they trade him off to the Red Sox for
practically nothing. Pitcher Stand played pretty well still let by
Kevin Gosman. I mean he's still that age. He was
a B plus type pitching, but definitely had a good

(20:34):
season out of him.

Speaker 2 (20:35):
Chris Bassett was a solid pickup. I like him.

Speaker 1 (20:38):
He played pretty well again for them, a nice contract
they thought about sending him out contract is so good.

Speaker 2 (20:45):
Jose Barrios. He had a good season, solid production out
of at number three Yusai Ka Kucci, who they picked
up as a rental. They ended up trading him off
to the Astros.

Speaker 1 (20:55):
It turned out to be a smart move if he
played very well for the Blue Jays cold for the
ass Throughs. Solid time to move him out, especially when
they didn't need him Allen Minoa never really got his
form going again. He tried him to start it again,
so he was an eighty two seasons ago and then
fell off, but never really got his production back this year,

(21:16):
so looking more like a relief picture this point number
five starter said B to B plus production out and
pitching bats for average above average at batsman. They did
find some production later in the season, so I'm gonna
get a A C minus just with a rebound, I said,
and then finally finding some sort of direction, but could
have been a lot better. Nobody expected him to be

(21:38):
at the bottom. Looked like the move going forward and
building around Lad Carrero and possibly George Springer. Easy to
find bats in pitching. So with the picture, staff detect
but hope you enjoyed this. Looking forward to give me
more sports news going forward. Thanks for tuning in, Thanks
for the support,
