Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hey, fundamentals and techniques, that's the key, right sixty minutes right,
sixty minutes last for the AMC West. Yeah, the Broncos
(00:28):
a C plus. I like them.
Speaker 2 (00:30):
Starting off from cornerback Johnny barn out of Texas. He's
just coming off the Jim Thorpe Award for the Top
dB College Football. We definitely a playmake out there. Somebody
you get sit on the blitz. He works best in
the nipkel. They also played the outside. Here's good coverage skills.
(00:52):
Definitely caused a lot of turnovers out there. I mean,
you fit in well because all the air patches is tained.
The second and Raley Moss the original white cornerback because
everybody think it's Cooper Dejing, it's really Riley Moss came
out of Hirewall first. But Baron fits it nicely in
a nickel spot, so I really like to fit there.
(01:15):
He does have short owns and they would like to
see him clean up his tackling, But for the tackling
that he did in college, it's not really much of
it this year, so it's just more technique wise.
Speaker 1 (01:26):
It's definitely physical out there, and.
Speaker 2 (01:29):
That was a still getting them at number twenty he
was expected to go more towards the middle. Then late
second round they got running back all J. Harvey out
of UCF. He's just an overall athlete. He came in
to be a quarterback despite his size, but they end
up moving him to a running back position. He lacks
(01:50):
top speed, but he's tough to take down and he
gets yards at to catch, so very good receiver. Basically
gonna feel like Avaan Kamara roll for Sean Payton. So
I really like to fit there, so expect them to
get a lot of carries, a lot of touches early.
Then early in the third round they got wide receiver
(02:13):
Pat Bryant out of Illinois. This was a pick I
was a little skeptical about, but he seem to got
high reviews for his character and route running at the
Senior Bowl. I think he's a guy to play inside
and outside. It's another version of the receiver to add
to the mix. Even though he does seem to be overdrafted,
(02:33):
but he's a player that Peyton seemed to like more
a possession guy. Then again in the third round, they
want edge rusher say Beyond Jones out of LSU. He
has a size basically be a defensive end. He's a
high motive player, very physical. He's good against the run,
(02:56):
but his past russ is still improving, so he just
need to clean up some technique issues. But he'll possibly
be in a rotation early and does have started potential.
In the fourth round, dealing with edge russier Quay Robinson
out of Alabama. Robinson has good quickness and athleticism with
(03:19):
long arms, but he lacks experience so he's still raw,
but he played a lot of special teams. It looks
like it would be an outside linebacker as they continue
to develop him to just expect them to be on
special teams to provide death outside linebacker, but they're pretty deep.
Then in the sixth round, they chose a punter and
(03:40):
Jeremy crossyall out of Florida. He's a four year punter
who's known to have a high average with good accuracy
around forty five yards per punt. That's pretty good there,
so you expect people take over the starting job even
though they might bring him some competition, but the draft
of pun him he most likely as a joke. The
(04:02):
last and the seventh round, they want with tight end
Caleb Lona out of Utah. He's a five year basketball player.
He's an athletic, of course, but he has limited experience.
They basically used him as a ridgezone threat, so he's
still developmental.
Speaker 1 (04:19):
You know, he still need to learn to block.
Speaker 2 (04:21):
They'll learn some technique, but at six seven, you know,
like it's potential and they do need help at the
tight end position, so he'll be on the back end
of the roster most likely. I said, a decent draft there.
They did get a starting corner and start running back
some edge rush deaf you know, continue to help him.
(04:44):
They were basically blitzing like crazy last year. Talk the
defense and you know Adon Barron is another corner. Help
as they blitzed, I said, Pat Bryant gives him death
a wide receiver. Then they added upun him and the
development on tight end. But I said, I gave it
a CEA plus. Peyton is more so adding some good
pieces for both sides of the ball. The top two picks. Basically,
(05:08):
he did expert the Los Angeles Chargers. I gave him
a BAT plus. They started off in the first round
running back of Mario Hampton out of nof Carolina. He's
a big work course back with three down potential, very
hard to take down, and he can catch a course,
(05:30):
but needs to improve his blocking, and they don't like
him taking on as much contact. I know he liked
to go bea smooth some town, but in the league,
you know, definitely want to take too many hits. But
I'm sure they'll put him in tand them anyway, because
they also had Naji Harris, so it'll be good. They
had that good mix. Then in the second round, they
(05:51):
went wide receiver. Trey Harris had an old miss here,
a five year player spending three years at Louisiana Tech.
Speaker 1 (06:00):
Productive.
Speaker 2 (06:02):
He was a productive wide receiver, got good size to
play inside and outside and good speed. He's more of
a deep threat. So I see him as number two,
number three type wide receiver. It's potential to be a
three level wide receivers. Need to clean up his route
running and improve his catching in traffic as he more so,
(06:22):
you know, got a lot of screens and just flying
down the field, but they never really seen him too
much in traffic. Don't make too many plays there. I
see him as a number two wide receiver. He'll really
helped in his system. In the third round, they went
with defensive tackle Jamari Caldwell out of Organ. Carl was
(06:44):
a five year player, spending two years in community college
in two years in Houston before going to Oregon. So
he played a few systems your big nose tackle with
improving past rush, but he's improved his technique and his motor.
He does have started potential. I could see him filling
some gaps, you know, early on rundowns until you develop
(07:08):
them too full special tackle playoff three downs. Then in
the fourth round they went with edge rusher Kyle Gnag
out of South Carolina. He's a five year player for
four years at Georgia Tech. He had a big twenty
twenty four year as a pass rusher, but he is
(07:30):
good size to play off ball. He just needed to
continue to add stremth to his frame and improve his
pass rush moves. I could see him be in a
situational pass rusher early for the potential to be a
starter all around. Then in the fifth round, you're a
wide Receiverkeandre lambre Smith out of Auburn. Here a five
(07:53):
year player, been in four years at Penn State. He's
Cam Chances's nephew. Forming straw safety from the Seahawks, but
He's a lanky wide receiver with good speed and improving production.
He let all burning receiving last season despite the bad
quarterback play, but he just need to improve his route
(08:14):
running add some strength to his frame. But he should
for ride death with the potential to be a slot
wide receiver long term. Then again in the fifth round
to a tight end for ronde Gast in the second
Ia Syracuse. He's the son of a former Dolphin wide
receiver of Rondie Gaston, so he's a converted wide receiver
(08:38):
who moved it tight end. But he does have good
size for the position. He got two seasons with nine
hundred plus yards sixty plus catches, so he's a good
receiving threat with a long wings fan. But he just
needs to continue to add strength to his frame and
improve his blocking. But he does come with some injury concerns,
(09:00):
so I can see him more as a mobile piece early,
but he does have started potential. Then in the sixth round,
they went with god Branson Taylor out of pit. He's
an experienced tackle play left and right and he does
have a lot of special teams experience. He's a big
(09:20):
man with run blocker, but he may need to move
inside to this your arms. He needs to improve his
past blocking technique, but he does have started potential with guard.
He could possibly provide death at guard and tackle early.
Then again in the sixth round, they went with safety R. J.
(09:41):
Mickings out of Clemson. Nickings is the son of Homer
Jets cornerback Ray mckens. He's a physical safety with good awareness,
good instincts, who's a wrap up tackler, ma legs out speed.
Need to continue to improve as a box safety, so
for now he'll be on special teams and provide death.
(10:04):
Then last in the seventh round they want cornometric Peas Bridges.
Speaker 1 (10:09):
He is six year dB.
Speaker 2 (10:11):
The special teams experience got go side speed and awarness,
but he needs to improve his footwork and it's run stopping,
so I think he could provide death. But he has
potential to be a movable piece in the secondary, so
they may keep him around with his special teams experience.
Speaker 1 (10:30):
Now say solid drafted.
Speaker 2 (10:33):
They gotta start and running back and Marion Hampton or
potential starting running back.
Speaker 1 (10:38):
They got a number two, number three wide receiver Trey Harris,
good speed. They got a.
Speaker 2 (10:44):
Defensive tackle and Jamart Caldwell who should be able to
at least get some playing time, maybe even take over
a start and spot got an edge rushing Kyle Gnad,
who should provide death could also be a situational past rushing.
They got another wide receiver in Lambert Smith who provided death.
(11:04):
They got a movable piece and tight end in Gaston
who could also be a starter. Taylor gives him death
at guard and tackle. Nickens give him death at safety
and corner, and Bridges give him death a safety and
corner mostly corner.
Speaker 1 (11:24):
So it's good feeling some needs with some solid players there.
I like to draft next to the Las Veggas Rangers.
I gave him a bat plus sos.
Speaker 2 (11:35):
They started off in the first round. Take a running back,
Ashton Genty out of Boise State. He's coming off the
Dark Walk Award the top running back with two thoured
and fifty yards scrimmage. But he is a player with
a lot of miles on him, and they would like
to see him improve his bass security and it could
(11:57):
be tied to his you know, unique running style that
Chip Kelly already changing. But you see gent, there's really
nothing he can't do out there. Despite his stature. He's
a smaller built guy, a good strength on him, very
tough to take down. I see him as a three
down back getting a lot of carriers early in.
Speaker 1 (12:19):
The system.
Speaker 2 (12:21):
With Pete Carroll, who loves to run the football. Then
in the second round they want wide receiver Jack Back
out of TCU. He spent two years at LSU. In
two years at TCU, but he only got one year
of big production. He's a tough, possession wide receiver, built
route running a few more of a slot wide receiver
(12:45):
the lass top speed.
Speaker 1 (12:47):
We just need to continue to prove his blocking. I
expect him to get some playing time.
Speaker 2 (12:53):
Early in the third round, they were cornerback Durian Porter
out of Iowa State. He's a six year cornerback, one
year as a starter, but he's experienced on special teams
and he's been able to block punts on special teams
at about sixty three. He is good speed, good awayeness.
(13:14):
He still rot the position, but he has number two
to number three cornerback potential. Just need to clean up
his technique, his tackling. But he could see tom on
special teams early as he worked his way into the lineup.
But they do have a need in corner.
Speaker 1 (13:30):
Again.
Speaker 2 (13:30):
In the third round, he went with cayleb Rogers, offensive
lineman out of Texas Tech. He's an experienced tackle who
has played all the spots except the center, so that
gives him good versatility. But he's a durable player with
good strength, good pass protection. They see him more as
a guard, but he can also play tackle. But I
(13:52):
just see him playing somewhere on the line. But he
just need to improve his technique, so he'd be in
competition for maybe a guard, the right guard spot, right
tackle spot. Then again in the third round, they went
when tackled Charles Grant out of Wayam and Married. He's
considered more of a sleeper player. They really liked what
(14:12):
he did at the Singing Bowl where he impressed that.
You know, they thought about moving them into guard, but
they like he can definitely play tackle. He's an experienced
left tackle at that level. The grand considered a sleeper player.
He impressed at the Singing Bowl and at the combine,
coming in with good measurables. They wanted to move into guard,
but they say he can't play tackle, so at this
(14:35):
point considered that developmental left tackle will started potential. Basically
coming from a small school, he just need to clean
up some technique, add some strength to his frame, so
they'll groom him as the potential left tackle, but he
might also take the right tackle spot.
Speaker 1 (14:48):
I wouldn't sleep on him.
Speaker 2 (14:51):
Then in the fourth round, they selected wide receiver Dunte
Thorton Jr. Out of Tennessee. That's a pick I really
want give props to, you know, coming from Baltimore, being
a Baltimore native, especially Cherry Hill native, but death South
Baltimore depth. Good luck to this guy here. But he's
a likely wide receiver, good speed, good strength. He's a
(15:14):
physical deep threat who just need to improve his route
tree and improve after catch on shorter routes. But he's
basically outside wide receiver who started potential, so he should
see a lot of time early in the system.
Speaker 1 (15:29):
That's a neat position.
Speaker 2 (15:32):
Then again in the fourth round, they went with defensive tackle,
talking him a way out of South Carolina. Him he's
a five year player who moved from defensive end to
defensive tackle, but being then underside of defensive tackle and
the legal had to move back to defensive end most likely.
But he has passed rush potential, good footwork and athleticism.
(15:54):
But they just need to improve his technique and it's
run stocking, so he may need to ask some weight
and then they want to move him inside.
Speaker 1 (16:03):
And in the sixth round they chose defensive tackle. JJ
Pgs had a whole mess. He's a five year player
who spent two years at All Burn. He's con verty
tight end. He has good athleticism to for work. He
was also used as the show yard his running back
at Ohle mess. But he has good pass rust potential,
(16:25):
then versatility to played defensive tackle or defensive end. He's
needing prove his technique, show a better motor.
Speaker 2 (16:32):
I could see him being a rotational player early the
start of potential getting In the sixth round, they went
wide receiver Tommy Mellott out of Montana State. He's converting
from quarterback to wide receiver. He oppressed at his pro day,
so he still rocked the position, of course, but he
(16:53):
viewed as the player that could be more of a
gadget guy, you know, possibly even use him as some
quarterback plays too. But they could see him probably starting
on special teams kick returning. So I'm sure Pete Carroll
has some plans for him. Basically, if everybody get banned
like a Julian Daman. Then again in the sixth round,
(17:14):
they want quarterback Cam Miller. I don't know if to
go to state here four years started with good production.
He got good awareness and good mobility, but he's undersized.
They need to clean up some technique issues, so he's
more of a developmental quarterback. Move backup number two, number three,
(17:34):
number two potential, I should say a number three. The
last in the seventh round, they want a linebacker, Cody
Linnenberg out of Minnesota. He's a lightly linebacker with good size,
good awareness, front stopping skills. He just need to improve
his technique and his coverage by add some strength to
(17:55):
his frame. But he viewed as a special teams guy,
so he may be in this spot, so he's not
guaranteed the roster spot, even though they do have a
need a linebacker.
Speaker 1 (18:05):
So that helps me.
Speaker 2 (18:08):
Listen Salad draft there, gotta start running back and gently
should be good for three downs, especially as a rookie.
Speaker 1 (18:15):
Get even more miles on.
Speaker 2 (18:17):
They got wide receiver death and jack back. Picking him
so early, I'm sure he'll be in a rotation. They
got a potential start pulling him back and Darrin Borda
releast play on special teams. They got offensive lineman Caleb
Rodgers to be able to play somewhere to whether guard
or tackle. It's good versatility, not providing death at both spots.
(18:41):
They got developmental lapt tackle and Charles Brant said will
possibly take over the right tackle spot because he is
pretty good.
Speaker 1 (18:50):
Should have a.
Speaker 2 (18:50):
Start wide receiver and Thornton Jane that you start wide
receiver outside. Got two defensive tackles him and Way and
Pgs to both have some past rest potential, some defensive
vent defensive tackle versatility.
Speaker 1 (19:05):
It's good.
Speaker 2 (19:05):
In the Pete Carroll system, they got wide receiver and
Melo who did they compare more to a Julian Edelman
the developmental quarterback and Cam Miller impossible depth the special
teams player in Lennenberg he can stick to the roster.
So feeling a lot of needs there betting Pete Carroll
(19:29):
mark want as you see players that can play in
his system. Actually the Kansas City Chiefs I gave him
a beat. They started off with a player I like
at the end of the first round, the officer tackle
George Simmons out Ohio State. He spent two years in
San Diego, State before the two years at Ohio State.
(19:53):
He's basically a for the typical left tackle. Basically, if
he didn't have the injury concerns, he would be the
best left tackle in the draft. Definitely would have been
in the top ten. The Chiefs having probably at the
left tackle position. I can probably see him taking over
the job at least being groomed for the job long term.
He just need to improve his strength and of course
(20:15):
he's coming off a season and the knee injury. Mcdonovan
Jackson was able to take over for him, so he
has all the skills to be a left tackle in
the league, just need to stay healthy.
Speaker 1 (20:27):
Really.
Speaker 2 (20:29):
At the end of the second round. With defensive tagle,
Omar know him a lot out of Tennessee. He a
five year player, just spend three at Arizona State. He's
an undersized defensive tagle with a high motor mob pass
rushing DT, but he can also stop to run.
Speaker 1 (20:47):
He just need to add some strength to his frame.
He continue to add pass rushing moves.
Speaker 2 (20:52):
I can see him as a rotational player who can
help on third downs where possible started potential.
Speaker 1 (20:58):
He considered a slight.
Speaker 2 (20:59):
Old with draft in the second round but position and
the need there and for the skill set that they
like to see it. In the third round, they won't.
You want edge rushing Ashton get a lot out of Louisville.
His experienced edge rushing. He plays with good physicality, good strength.
He could play with the hand in the dirt or
(21:22):
or off ball. They just need to clean up his
technique and improve that set in the edge against the run,
because he's viewed more of a defensive end, but he
just needed to continue to develop. So I could see
him playing on special teams but eventually getting into the
rotation just because of his versatility. I said, starting defensive
(21:43):
end long term. Then again in the third round, he
want cornerback Noel Williams out of cal Your five year player,
three years at UNLB at least a productive, lengthy cornerback,
got awayness, play making skills, kick return skills also, but
he lacks top speed. He just need to add strap
(22:04):
to his frame and improve against the run while cutting
down on his penalties. But he does have started potential,
so they'll provide death for now. In late in the
fourth rown, they chose wide receiver Jalen Royals out of
Utah State. He considered another sleeper pick. A player that
really impressed at the Senior Bowl and the Combine, but
(22:30):
he spent one year at Georgia Military College before going
to Utah State. He's a physical, possession wide receiver with
good size and strength, so he can play inside or outside.
Speaker 1 (22:41):
He's a player that's known.
Speaker 2 (22:43):
For being physical and getting open, but he need to
clean up his route running and sure they can get
better separation, say lacking the top speed and does come
with some injury concerns coming out of foot injury.
Speaker 1 (22:56):
But he does have started potential and so they need
and wide receiver. I can see him get some time.
They like to go, you know, far down the roster.
Speaker 2 (23:05):
Then in the fifth round they want linebacker Jeffrey Bosser
out of Oregon. Need a strong, undersized linebacker who plays
with good physicality, get good covered skills in sideline and
side line ability. He played inside in college, but he
probably better fit outside of the league. He need to
(23:25):
improve his awareness to clean up some technique issues. His
main problem is that he doesn't offer any pass rush,
so he viewed more of the death special teams player.
Then last in the seventh round, he want running back
Sean Smith out of SMU. He spent three years at Miami.
(23:46):
He switched from wide receiver a running back. He's a
loosive runner with good return skills, good play making in space.
He just need to improve his blocking, add some strength
to his frame. Goward switching positions, but they see him
more of a gadget guy and they changing pace back.
But they definitely seem have a role for him, and
(24:07):
he could possibly use the kick return, but he considered
it still. He had a fourth fifth round great on him,
so getting his latest good. But I know they like
running backs like that. When they had Jared McKinnon, no
player that you can use in space, I'm sure Handy
got something of the sleeve for that.
Speaker 1 (24:27):
Sarla drafted. They got a potential left tackle and Simmons.
Speaker 2 (24:31):
They got a rotation defensive tackle and Norman Lot will
start the potential potential starting defensive end, ashing Gillot to
provide some edge rush. They got cornerback Death and Noel
Williams will possibly take over a starting spot eventually as
they do develop corners pretty well. They got to sleep
(24:54):
a wide receiver in Jalen Royals. They got a linebacker
Death and Jeffrey when she made a contribute at least
on special teams. Then they got to sleep a running
back in the smith. She made a contribute, says the
gadget guy, and what's wide receiver for skills as well,
(25:14):
so solid picks that it needs while also fit in
the system.
Speaker 1 (25:19):
But that is some of my draft grades. Thanks for
tuning in, Looking forward to giving you more real soon
