Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hey, fundamentals and techniques, that's the key, right sixteen minutes,
right sixty.
Speaker 2 (00:04):
Minute, Thanks for the NFC South. I'm gonna start with
(00:28):
the Atlanta Falcons, and I gave him eight minus. It
was one of the drefts I really liked. Wanted to
give my a but by them giving away next year's
first round pick, you know you kind of gotta dock
him a little bit. So I'm gonna give me a minus.
But it's always good when you got name recognition in
the draft. They always seem that I'll be great there.
(00:49):
So I know most of the players that the drafted.
So with the fifteenth pick, they selected edge Jalen Walker
out of Georgia. He's one of the top rated linebackers
or edge players, so I say I'm more as a
middle linebacker personally, but he basically do it all linebacker.
(01:11):
Can definitely give you some past rush, but he lacks
idea with length. Besides, he basically measured out at sixty one.
You know you prefer your age rush's more sixty three,
six four, A little lanky, a solid player. He was
grated to go at number seven to the Jets, but
definitely it was marked the number eight at the Panthers.
(01:32):
You know, his leadership was definitely talked about being the
key guy, so to get him a number fifteen was
good value. It seems like you're gona play him off
the outside just to take advantage of his athleticism because
he can't play in converage. He can do everything. But
I think he's a solid pick. Then then I said,
(01:54):
giving up that extra first round pick. They traded back
into the first round to with the twenty sixth pick,
they took outside linebacker edge rusher James Spears, So I
basically caught him outside linebacker because he's skinny, but he
has a lanky frame, so they're playing on moving outside linebacker.
But watching him last year in college, I think he
(02:15):
showed that he can't play outside linebacker. He did show
some converge skills and the ability of bass some balls down.
Before the year had started, he was rated the number
one overall player and the player that they seen they
could go number one overall in the draft.
Speaker 1 (02:30):
But coming back last.
Speaker 2 (02:32):
Year, you know, teams picking him apart, oh should I say,
scouting departments picking him apart.
Speaker 1 (02:38):
So he kind of fell.
Speaker 2 (02:40):
But I see him at the top fifteen talent so
to get him at twenty six with gree value. But
he seemed becoming some off the field issues.
Speaker 1 (02:48):
They saying, but I.
Speaker 2 (02:49):
Don't really know too much about that, but I know
as thoughts on the field, I seem as somebody could
possibly get double digit sacks, possibly a seven and eight
sack guy. Some curious to see what he can do
in the system. I'm sure he'll get a starting job
they invested in them. In the third round, they selected
(03:11):
safety Zavier Watch out of Know the Dame. He was
one of my top rated safeties. He said, I'm poor
a safety draft, but he's definitely a playmaker, more of
a coverage safety, and they wanted to improve his tackling.
But he's seen to be more of a mobile piece
if needed, but definitely starting safety in my opinion. So
(03:34):
I think he could take that starting free safety job.
It's left open after letting go of Justin Simmons. Look
solid coverage free safety there.
Speaker 1 (03:48):
Set.
Speaker 2 (03:48):
In the fourth round, he went with safety Billy Bowman Jr.
Out of Oklahoma. He's more of a smaller safety, so
he can also play corner. Just an overall playmaker to
solid and coverage, physical player despite its size, So I
see him more as a solid nickel corner. I said,
maybe he can start a free safety. He can hold up,
(04:09):
add some weight. I think a solid playmaker there. I think,
you know, with them having not so much death in
the secondary, he definitely can fill a role.
Speaker 1 (04:20):
You know.
Speaker 2 (04:21):
I think they would prefer a bigger corner, you know,
still that number two roll, But I do like a
bowman in the secondary in general, and last and the
seventh round, they're gonna tackle Jack Nelson out of Wisconsin here,
four year college, started with NFL jeans. You got experience
(04:41):
and left tackle and right guard. You got good size
for the position. You good run blocker, got good footwork,
good athleticism. But you just need to improve his past blocking,
add some strength to his frame. So he's more of
a developmental left tackle for them. He's hit behind you, Matthews.
He's getting a little older, so he's not somebody to
(05:04):
be thrown into the five, especially seventh round pick. But
it looked like he'll make the roster. Also, that's a
solid overall drafted. Gave it the eight minus. Got to
starting outside linebackers, starting free safety, possibly starting nickel ginger
beast Billy Bowman who can make plays for him and
then the developmental left tackles.
Speaker 1 (05:26):
A solid drafted.
Speaker 2 (05:27):
Just had to give up next year's first round pick,
so they need to make the playoffs with these players.
But them curious to see what Walk and Pears could do. No,
I think together maybe a solid due adding what they
already have, So I'm looking for early production from them next.
For the Tampa Bay Bucks, I gave him a B
see could be a B plus, but they started off
(05:51):
in the first round take a wide receiver Abuga out
Ohio State, So I thought it was more of a
luxury picked at first, but knowing that now Chris Godwin
won't be ready early in the season, it would definitely be
a solid piece because he can play him in the slot.
He can also be the number two role, a good
inside outside versatility. Say if you need a comp for Booker,
(06:14):
you can say you can compare him to an old teammate,
Jackson Smith and Jigbull play for the Seattle Seahawks, basically
the same type of player, the number two, number three
type player, the solid overall and he always getting good
reviews in training camp early, so they really like what
he brings to the team.
Speaker 1 (06:32):
Knowing to be a high character guy to.
Speaker 2 (06:35):
The In the second round, they wan't with a cornerback
I like and Benjamin Morrison out of know the Dame.
Speaker 1 (06:42):
They got good side of the position.
Speaker 2 (06:43):
He's originally viewed as like the late first corner the
early second round due to injuries, but of course the
injury concerns dropped him a little bit. But he's a
solid and courage overall solid play maker. Need to ask
some strength, clean up from tame any issues. I think
he got number two, number three cornerback potential and then
(07:05):
the secondary in need. I think he could get the
number two role. And in the third round he wro
cornerback Jacob Parish out of Kansas State. He's more of
a nickel cornerback with good speed who can possibly play
outside despite his size because he got good cut of skills,
good awareness.
Speaker 1 (07:27):
We just need to improve his strength and improve against
the running.
Speaker 2 (07:32):
So I could see them more saying that nickel corner roll,
especially with it open down with that nickel cornerback move
into safety, so he'll.
Speaker 1 (07:39):
Be in the mix of that job.
Speaker 2 (07:42):
In the fourth round, he went with edge rusher David
Walker out of Central Arkansas. He was a productive edge
rushing in college every about eight sacks a year, but
he played for both lower level Arkansas teams, making the
move to Central Arkansas. Last, he lacks ideal size and left,
but he plays with good strength, so it's just concerns about,
(08:05):
you know, him coming from the FCS level to be
a learning curve and then lacking the ideal size and
left to be a puer edge Russier. But he's seemed
to be a playmaker overall, so it'd be interesting to
see what they can do with them. But they do
need more pass rush and I think Todd Bowles obviously
(08:26):
know what to do with them. In the fifth round,
it went with edge rusher Etlijah Roberts out of SMU.
He used a productive two year edge Russia with good strength.
He projected more as a defensive end though than being
a peer edge Russia. But he does offer stand up
(08:47):
ability as well, so he gives a good versatility as
far as the edge rushier defensive end, but I think
it'll just be starting defensive end once he does get going.
He does have the size for the position. Then last,
in the seventh round, he took Tads Johnson wide receiver
out of Oregon, so he's known more for his family
(09:11):
ties with bowl Knicks, the quarterback from the Broncos, So
I'm surprised they didn't really take him. He looking like
he might go undrafted after the horrible combine that he
had put up horrible numbers and the very skinny guy
if five ten, one fifty four and putting up bad
numbers wasn't a good look.
Speaker 1 (09:30):
But he's going to be a.
Speaker 2 (09:31):
Tough guy, solid playmaker, so it was a go to
guy for the bow Knicks. Just continue to make plays
last season as well, but he could make the team
as a part returner.
Speaker 1 (09:44):
That's an overall solid draft for them, said.
Speaker 2 (09:46):
I gave it a be like the adding the booker
to give him a number two, number three wide receiver
eventually replaced Chris Godwin. Then you get two cornerbacks and
Morrison in Parish who should possibly be the number two,
you number three eventually hopefully this season. You know, for them,
let's say Walker is just a playmaker. Gives him some
(10:09):
somebody developed the edge rusher or just a defensive end.
Then allowed to Robberts seem to be a defensive end,
so he should be in the rotation, say Tad Johnson,
one death wide receiver, they could offer some special teams value.
I said, not a bad draft, but you know, nothing
to solid there for me, but give it a beat.
(10:32):
Got a couple of playmakers actually Carolina Panthers. I gave
him a B plus. They started off taking wide receiver
tat the Royal McMillan. I thought he might drop in
the draft, you know, with all the bad news coming around.
And I say, he does give off more slot wide
(10:53):
receiver vibes. Mismatch there the number one wide receiver vibes,
which is more what the Panthers need. But he is
around six four sixty five, like he played maker, so
he does as you to mix it what they don't have.
So it's an upgrade for them. So I'll give a
good value the number eight pick somebody that could grow
(11:16):
with Bryce, you know, he didn't really need that. Then
in the second round he went with an edge rusher
I like. I think he was very underrated and Nick
Gordon out of Texas A and M. He was originally
graded round more of the first round. That's definitely where
I had him for To give him the second round,
(11:37):
it's good value for me, but they questioned most of
his ability to hold up against the run set the
edge as they call it. But he's more of a
high mortar Edge Russia with that naty demeanor that people like.
So he has good size, but he does like left
that they like to see an edge rusher. But he
did that Pery deal and he did that text A
(11:58):
and M. So I just think he somebody could contribute
early to eventually be a starting defensive end. Then in
the third round they want Edge Russia Prince. So you
man me yelling out a whole mess. He's a player
with the name on the rise. Some people start to
see him on that late first rounds of like the
(12:21):
Cheeps early second round. So get him in the third
round was good value. But I still see him more
as developmental. You can see it more of a finesse
Edge Russia. You know, he had good size, good production,
but he need to improve his strength and his run stopping.
Speaker 1 (12:36):
But he could.
Speaker 2 (12:37):
I can see him as a situational pass Russia early,
you know, as he gets going, but I can see
outside linebackers starting potential for him, but he won't be
rushing this situation. I can see him, you know, outside linebacker.
In the fourth round they want with the younger ATN
Trevor Etn out of Georgia. He also played at floor.
(13:00):
He didn't really have the season that you expected at
Georgia that he did at Floyd when he didn't really
have to share the ball, and he did have some
off the field issues. But he's can said it more
as a good receiving threat. Some of it to his
brother with you know, three down potential, but I see
him as a good number two back, you know, with
(13:22):
third down potential because he can't block, he can't catch
the ball. But you just need to ask my trump.
Add some weight to his frame. You know, he little underside,
but he's definitely a player. Then in the fourth round
again he went with safety Lathan Ransom out of Ohio State.
Speaker 1 (13:41):
He considered more.
Speaker 2 (13:42):
Of a physical, hard hitting safety with good awareness, like
to play against the run. Set it morever a downhill
safety or in the box. So he's gonna say it
more of a strong safety. He got a good special
team experience, so he can definitely make the team there.
Speaker 1 (14:01):
But he's just like speed, need.
Speaker 2 (14:03):
Improve some technique issues, so he'll provide death and play
on special teams, but he does have starting strong safety
potential then in the fifth round to a defensive tackle,
Cam Jackson out of Florida. He's one of those mammoth
nose tackles. It just comes to stuff to run. He
(14:24):
plays some good strength, got long arms. But the problem
with him at this point is more was space either
to the run stopper, which I say per run stopper.
Speaker 1 (14:35):
So you just need to improve his technique in his
consistency there.
Speaker 2 (14:40):
I mean he always no pass rush, so he's more
just to play there come in the rotation, help stop
the run. Right now, he's still kind of developmental, but
he has the size and everything put a position. Then
in the fifth round again they want with tight end
Mitchell Evans. How didn't know the dame. He's a productive
pass catching tight end. The injuries been holding him back.
(15:01):
He got good size with he a decent blogger. He
wanted them players that you are more so sent out
to catch some passes. But he does have a starting
tight end potential once he cleaned up some technique it's used,
add some strength to his frame, but staying healthy it'll
be the key for him.
Speaker 1 (15:18):
He is definitely a playmaker.
Speaker 2 (15:21):
Last in the sixth round, they went with another playmaker
from Jimmy Horn Jr. Out of Colorado. He originally came
from USF. We also made plays before coming to Colorado.
This is a tough guy, smaller frame, fast wide receiver
with good hands, good in space as well, great return skills,
(15:42):
so he probably started off as a returner, but he
does give him more gadget guy ability early with the
potential to be a slot wide receiver if his side
can hold up. But the scouts just wanting to improve that.
He's more than a deep threat. So just because it's size,
you know that often the best protection is going deep.
(16:05):
They does have the hands for it and keeps them
out of the traffic catching the traffic issue too for
its size. That's what I said, see themore as a
gadget guy early, but a solid drafted gave it a
B plus To add McMillan gives another play maker for
price much needed. I like Nick Scorton personally, so that's
(16:26):
the edge rusher air for him, at least getting a
rotation with defensive end starting defensive end potential, Prince your
man yelling, so it gives them edge rusher potential outside
linebacker starting potential. Trevor ATN gives them running back death
much needed now with Brooks injury. The more number two
(16:50):
type running back, third down world potential said Ransom gives
them starting strong and safety potential. Another play make on
special teams all ahead of there, Cam Jackson gives him
a nose tackle the space eater.
Speaker 1 (17:08):
For Bridon death there.
Speaker 2 (17:09):
I said, it's a little developmental Mitchell Evans play maker
a tight end much needed. Their tight ends are more
above average. Evans could provide some pass catching mixed there
if you need it.
Speaker 1 (17:23):
Then Jimmy Horn Jr.
Speaker 2 (17:24):
Adds to the special teams prospical return them to mover
Gadgety offense. Give him a different mix. That's a he
plus there. Next for the New Orleans Saints, I gave
a C. They started the ninth pick taking the player
I like, tackle Calvin Banks.
Speaker 1 (17:45):
I was a little shocked that he took him.
Speaker 2 (17:46):
Even though the Saints always liked to improve their whole line,
seemed like they just needed to guard, especially after last year.
Speaker 1 (17:53):
They took Teleisi Bwaga that a.
Speaker 2 (17:55):
Player I liked, but they ended up putting them at
left tackle despite the short arms. Seem like he'll prosibly
moving the right tackle With Calvin Banks taking off the
left tackle spot. Started at Texas at left tackle the
whole time, so I was surprised people really started to
question him, but the teams started to eat you up
(18:16):
more long the scouting process.
Speaker 1 (18:19):
So came in to play about his short arms, not
really having a desire.
Speaker 2 (18:22):
Left I said, to play left tackle with Texas as
a freshman shows the type of player that he is.
So I seen him as a plug and play left tackle.
I always had him as my highest rated old lineman overall.
I was rated tackle over Will Campbell, so I like
him more on the left side, Will Campbell more on
the right side. Well, solid pick picking up banks. Take
(18:44):
good value of the ninth pick. Two at the second
rounds we got a little questionable taking quarterback. Everybody going
with Tyler Shock. Now before the draft, he was saying,
Tyler Show. So I'm gonna go with Tyler Shock. Tyler
Shock out of Louisville. And the issue with him is,
you know, he's twenty six years old. He's a seven
year college player play for Oregon, Texas Tech and Louisville.
(19:11):
But he did show improvement this year in a different
system under the bronze at Louisville and he has good
size for the position with a good arm. Basically he
was able to impress with kan Ward and Shador Sanders
choosing not to throw. Basically, shot showed up and all
(19:32):
the scouts ate it up. You know to see a
guy you know that sixty five six full range, you.
Speaker 1 (19:38):
Know, with a big arm. But to me, he's more
of a fringe daughter.
Speaker 2 (19:43):
He has a slow release I don't really like, so
I think you need to clean up some technique. There's
questions about his awareness, and he does comes with injury concerns,
which is why he was able to stick around for
so long in college. So I see him, I said,
of a friends started number two type player, wouln't mind
(20:03):
coming in for a few games, but it's looking more
like he might be their starter. Definitely a not not
taking your door, especially with the situation with call, but
it seemed like this is a guy that they believe in.
In the third round, they went with defensive tackle Burnon
Broughton out of Texas. He's a defensive tackle with good
(20:24):
size who he stopped to run, but he also provide
pass rush with high modem. They just need to ask
some strength to his frame. He considered somebody that could
be in the rotation early pass rushing absolutly on third downs,
but he still needs developer, you know, that part of
his game. But he does have started potentially eventually. Then
(20:47):
again in the third round, they went with safety Jones
Sinker out of Virginia. He's more of a free safety.
He has good side for the position, physical downhill safety
consider him so he can't play in the He's a
high value tackler who like to stop the run, but
he's more so considered somebody can cover big wide receivers
(21:08):
and coverage because he'd like to get physible. That's why
they see him more on the free safety side than
the strong safety side. But you just need to clean
up some technique issues and improve his awareness, so he
start off on special teams, but definitely has started potential.
In the fourth round, he with my linebacker Danny Stuntsman
out of Oklahoma. He another high volume tackling guy, would
(21:32):
like to stop the run. He plays with good instincts
and good awareness. They need to clean up his technique
issues and then show that he can play in coverage.
He i experienced special teams guy, so he'll make his
live in there. Possibly with the potential to be a
two down starting middle linebacker just because he likes to
speed in the coverage to be there all three downs
(21:56):
and getting In the fourth round, they're going the cornerback
Riley out of Louisville. He a six year college player
who originally came from Middle Tennessee State where he ran
track and played football. He's more of a speed guy.
He's seen the best in a nickel coiner. He could
offer some outside versatility, but he needs to improve his
(22:19):
awareness and clean up his technique. He just provide definitive
position for now. Then in the sixth round, he went
with running back Devin Neal Kansas. He's a productive college
running back. He got good size and strength. He was
more of a workhoorse in college who could possibly get
(22:40):
at in the league as well, But he just lacks
the top speed. So he's more of a power back.
So I think he'll be a solid player to be
a number two row behind Camara, but they already had
that Miller, so he'll provide definite position more a number
three back. Sound like him more as a power back
pair with the speedback because he doesn't really have to
(23:03):
that home right hit and nobility. In the seventh round,
they went with tight end Moleaky Matavao out of U c.
Speaker 1 (23:12):
L A.
Speaker 2 (23:14):
He a big blocking tight end with limited starting experience,
even though he had shown flashes as a pass catcher,
but they believe he could be more of a number
two blocking tight end tight but he need improve his
technique and may even need to earn his spot because
he already had three other tight ends on the rust.
(23:34):
Then last they went with edge rusher Fordil Diggs out
of Syracuse. He has good size for the position to
be a stand up or hand in the dirt pass rusher.
He's a good special teams player. He played at Texas
A and M originally, so your five year player, but
(23:56):
he needs to improve his technique and his awareness, so
he's consider more developmental. Special teams could be his waighted
earning his spot though, so he might be able to
earn a roster spot. I said, Okay, draft dren, give
it a see. I like Addon Banks player. I really
like the left tackle right there. If they need him
(24:18):
to move inside the guard, they could, but he looks
the part to me. He quarterback Tyler Shuck. Depends how
you feel about him. I'm not too high on him.
If they started him, definitely an issue. I would get
a veteran do that. Though BroadOn solid defensive tackle. I
(24:39):
think he'll be in a rotation. Thank you'll give him
special teams experience with possible starting safety potential, stop being
another special team player, possible middle linebacker potential.
Speaker 1 (24:52):
He'll provide death.
Speaker 2 (24:55):
Funcy Riley, a speed track guy, will provide death in
the secondary corner. I'm not too sure about his starting potential,
but it could be a nickel corner. Devin neil P
doctor of college back to power back, definitely see him
contributing injuries hip I say mostly provide death as well.
(25:16):
My Tavao might not make the team. They do gotta
taysoon Hill. They just pay Johnson. They do got more still,
so it'll be tough for my Tavao to make the
roster and then did same thing. But the special teams
could get them on there. It's a tough for a
team that needed a lot to not really grab some
(25:37):
top level players. So definitely passing on your door. Big
mistake in minds as well. Let me give it a
c say more of an average draft. I really see
that in the left tackle in a quarter of another
quarterback into the mix, with some players that have starting potential,
something that's just special teams. Players in two that might
(25:58):
not even make the roster, but thanks for tuning in,
looking forward to giving you to the AFC South walesan
thanks for support.
