guys, we are going to readone of my favorite books, Hippopotamus eight
the Teacher, read to by myfather and illustrated by Jared Lee. H

(00:58):
Hey, guys, welcome to starretire with teachery Mill. Now we are
going to read one of my favoritebooks, A Hippopotamus Ate the Teacher by
Mike Taylor and illustrated by Jared Lee. A Hippopotamus Ate the Teacher. One

(01:19):
day, our teacher, Missus Jones, took us to the zoo. Yay.
She showed us the monkeys, thetigers, and the kangaroo. Then

(01:42):
she showed us the hippopotamus. Ohwow, but she leaned too close to
the rail to feed it a peanutand she fell in. Oh don't know,
and the hippopotamus ate her. Ohmy, we all cried. We

(02:08):
went to the zookeeper and told himthe hippopotamus just ate out to each her.
Oh my, said the zoo keeper. Oh dear. He went to
the zoo director. The hippopotsmus justate the teacher, oh my, said

(02:30):
the zoo director. We went tothe hippo partumus. Hmmm. The zoo
director opened up the hippopotamus's mouth andwe all looked in, but we couldn't

(02:51):
see anything. Then, all ofa sudden, a voice came from deep
within the hippopotamus. All right,class, that's time to go, said
the voice. It was Miss Jones, and then the whole class wrote back

(03:15):
to school with the Hippopotsimus. Theother teachers were very surprised when we all
arrived. The principal was very surprisedalso, but we explained it to him.
So the next day the hippopotsimus taughtour class. It taught us math

(03:44):
and history and geography. It readus stories. All the other kids thought
the hippopotsimus was great. They lookedin the windows and picked up the door.
But as time went on, hebegan to miss miss Jones, Oh

(04:10):
my, why aren't they go intodeath? It was hard to hug the
hippopartsimus, and we couldn't sit onits lap. So one day, in
the middle of a history lesson,we all grabbed a hippo and turned it
upside down. Then we shook ittill Miss Jones fell out well class,

(04:41):
she said, back dear seats.The third President of the United States was
Thomas Jefferson. Did you see thehippup Partimus upside down? Any questions?

(05:01):
She smiled, adjusting her glasses.And that boy singles, It's the story
of a hippopotsmus eight the teacher seeyou in the next story.
