Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hi, this is Colby from the Colby Cast, and you're

civilized age.
Speaker 2 (00:11):
He's been annoy you.
Speaker 3 (00:14):
In nineteen seventy seven, George Lucas formed a legacy with me.
I am inspired by mythology. His saga has become a
passion for many. His legend has become our story, one
of resistance.
Speaker 2 (00:32):
We are.
Speaker 3 (00:36):
Rebellion and redemption.
Speaker 2 (00:40):
I am jet Father.
Speaker 3 (00:42):
This is Star Wars Reactions, Imber, We'll be with you always.
Speaker 4 (00:50):
Well, hello everybody, and welcome to Star Wars Reactions. We
are so happy you are joining us for our two
hundred and eighth episodeisode. Man, large numbers, they're getting to me. AnyWho,
what my name is Aaron Harris. I am one of
your hosts here in joining me. He is the whim
(01:12):
to Neil. He is the David Modyrus. What's up? David?
Speaker 2 (01:18):
Hey? Brother man? Well, what's up? Is we are on,
like you said, episode seven of Skeleton Crew, and we're
catching up. We're catching up with everybody. But I'm ready
to react and looking forward to covering this very cool episode.
Speaker 4 (01:38):
Yes, I am too. This is gonna be so good.
So good to talk about because this series is getting
so so much fun. I just it's chilling. So let's
let's go ahead and just jump into Skeleton Crew Episode seven.
This one is entitled we Are going to Be in
(02:01):
So Much Trouble. That's a phrase I said many many
times growing up. I'm sure most of us have. But
this episode is at least January seventh of twenty twenty five,
directed by Lee Isaac Chung and written by Christopher Ford
(02:21):
and John Watts, and the synopsis for this episode ripped
straight from Star Wars dot Com. Wim Fern and KB
and Neil are eager to finally get home, only to
find Jod and the Pirates closing in on ad Atton.
(02:44):
The kids make a daring bid to escape the pirates
and the Onyx Cender, but their hope coming is complicated
by Jod, who won't let go of the promise of
at Atten's eternal treasure. So he's Lee, So let's jump
(03:05):
into this. David, I'm going to turn the floor to
you talk about your initial reactions to We're so going
to be in so much trouble?
Speaker 2 (03:16):
Well, you know I've been because we are behind. We
have been running behind that's okay. You know, I have
a few of the podcasts that I listened to and
it's always interesting. I can tell our podcast friends like
to say pen ultimate, right, So like them, I will
(03:38):
say in this pen ultimate episode, this is we're on
an absolutely crazy ride, literally through the barrier, you know,
ending with a cliffhanger that had you know, my daughter
and I saying like, quote, no way, you can't end
it there. We don't want to wait a week. And
so it was fun from start to finish, and and
(04:00):
yes for a penultimate episode. It did a great job
of getting this to the final episode, which we'll be
covering soon. But what did you think, buddy.
Speaker 4 (04:11):
Well, I wasn't going to use penultimate. I was going
to say second to last, just so I could stand out.
Now you know this, this was fantastic, you know, I
believe I think it was. In our last the last
episode of reactions, I said, I can't see how they're
going to wrap all this up in just two episodes.
But I tell you what, John Watson for they they
(04:35):
had to have graduated from the Dave Filoni school of
cramming an episode in with a ton of stuff to
make it good. Because they really did believe, make me
believe they can wrap this up in two episodes, And
it was absolutely and fantastic. How much story advancement we
got crammed into this thirty well, by the time you
(04:58):
take out the six languages of credits, twenty seven minutes episode,
it was it was fantastic. And just to see the
the final start, the start of the final growth of
these characters for this season as we get to that
(05:19):
final episode, it was just it was incredible. I absolutely
loved it. So it was edge of the seat, edge
of the seat because remember when we recorded our last episode,
which this episode was already out. Episode seven was already
out when we recorded our review of episode six, and
I said I hadn't watched it yet. So as soon
(05:41):
as we got done recording, I turned it on and
watched it, and I'm like, oh gosh, this was great.
And I'm like, and I will say this, my my,
my thoughts were correct. I'm glad I didn't watch it
before we recorded the last episode because I'd have been
(06:02):
totally distracted, because it was it was just great, fantastic.
So well, let's go ahead and jump into a few
talking points. We got here because we got we got,
we got lots happening.
Speaker 2 (06:18):
Here.
Speaker 4 (06:19):
We have the episode opening up on at Aton with
the parents who are continuing continuing care bass, continuing to
work together to try to contact their kids. They have
their transmitter device that they stole the parts for and assembled.
(06:43):
They went out into the woods and they're in the
woods trying to activate the communication booye, And next thing
you know, they're surrounded by security droids who keep telling them,
don't move, you will gets done. Don't move, you will
gets done. And what do they do? They move and
(07:03):
they all get stunned. They end up being all back
in the captured by the security droids. So which I
like how they've been I want I want to just
because I like how they've been telling things about the
parents throughout this series as well. We've been getting those
(07:26):
one or two or three minutes back on that at
and with the parents struggling and dealing with the missing kids.
What'd you think of that opening sequence with the especially
when Neil's mom is standing there, She's like, I'm gonna
grab it and run.
Speaker 2 (07:46):
I'm gonna steal this from another podcast. I think they
called it the worst relay race ever. I mean, she
literally moved to pick it up and got it done.
She didn't even take a step, you know. Yeah, I
mean it's it's it's I guess it's fun to see
(08:08):
the efforts they're making. But uh ah man, we do
not want them running you know, the four by one
hundred relay for the United States and the next Olympics.
Let's just say that it's just slow mo. But it
was cool to see. I like seeing, you know, you know,
Fern's mom be able to to get it and and
(08:31):
you know, to take off, and that was a neat sequence.
And I was wondering whether it would go, oh, go
through the barrier, and I guess I guess was able
to because Fern's mom got barrier access code, right code. Yeah, yeah,
so that's how she could get it up through. So
(08:55):
but yeah, you know, you see them and you know,
to fast forward to what you were talking about about
when they're like why did you do that? And they're like,
you don't listen, you aren't helping us. And then the
droid we're always ready to listen, and it kind of
goes to l I s you know, and it turns
because it's immediately distracted. And I like to how Wendell's like,
(09:16):
what was that? You know, this is exactly what they're
talking about. We're not waiting for help from you guys,
you know, so.
Speaker 4 (09:25):
Oh no they aren't. It's I loved it the whole
the whole random relay scene. And of course I love
how it ends up being Pharah friend's mom who ends
up with the booie at at the end, making her
(09:47):
escape from the droids and actually setting the booy off
before being captured. I love that. I love that, And
of course we have that booy going up. But then
of course it it's out in the space, and what
do we get. We get this giant pirate ship coming
(10:07):
into orbit of the Maelstrom. Of course, Captain Brutus is
unhappy because of course it's you know, it's a deadly Maelstrom.
Nobody else survived that, Okay, So he goes to Airlock
John like he said he was going to do. And
(10:27):
next thing, you know what happens, The Onyx sender shows up. Yeah,
and of course the Onyx Cender shows up and they're
playing games, and I love the brief scene of them
running through the ship. They're playing with the ball and
just playing and having a good time. There were being
kids for once in this for once, uh, in this adventure,
(10:52):
they were running, playing, laughing, having a good time. Then
of course they arrive at at Atton and then they
get captured by the pirates. They lock on a tractor
beam and pull them in and things. This is where
we begin to see John's true colors. They see his
true colors timing through.
Speaker 2 (11:16):
That's a caravas right, Yeah, well.
Speaker 4 (11:23):
That that's a free serenade for everybody. But we do
we see his true colors coming through as he of course,
they let him out of the the air lock, they
capture the ship, they figure out what's going on, they
go in and next thing you know, they capture the
ship and they're trying to get the kids off. And
(11:45):
what do the kids do. They grab Brutus with that
big clothing they used to exit the ship on Lenopa
and he's just hanging there and then you see the
wheels start spinning.
Speaker 2 (11:59):
For John.
Speaker 4 (12:02):
And what does he do. He takes over the ship
by executing Brutus kind of cold, just shooting a guy
while he's hanging out.
Speaker 2 (12:16):
Yeah this, you know, this was I think, you know,
shot right in the face, point blank. Basically, they didn't
show it, but I'm a little darker than I thought
they would go on this show with that one, with
that with that scene. But Jodd I think did it
because of what Brutus said to him beforehand. You know,
(12:39):
whether at Atam's in there or not, you're you're a
dead man. So he knew if he had an opportunity,
he had to kill Brutus first.
Speaker 4 (12:46):
M Oh, absolutely, he gave his survival of the fittest
at that point. No, no honor among thieves. I think
it's what they say, even though they have a pirate code. Yeah, yeah,
but it definitely puts him in the position he wants
to take at at and his master plan is in
(13:10):
full effect. At that point, he wins back over the crew.
He tells they go in, they capture the kids, and
while they are walking around the ship exploring the Onyx sender,
of course, Silvo has his helmet back on and he's
fully capt in Silvo again that transmission Booye begins transmitting
(13:32):
and they receive it and what do they get? Messages
from home, which was a very touching point. At this time,
we see each one of the parents saying something encouraging,
giving him news from home, ultimately ending with Wendell who
was talking to whom and apologized for not listening and everything,
(13:55):
and it's a very touching moment for the kids. Did
you think of when the messages started coming through?
Speaker 2 (14:03):
Well, I guess, I mean the practical side of me
was how how do you how many republic emissaries are
out there? And how do you find one? I don't know.
I mean that's you know, I was like, what did
they really help them? I mean they did. I mean,
(14:27):
they couldn't give up. They couldn't give up the coordinates.
They even say that, you know, the parents do. But
there's where I think about what a horrible position to
be in as parents. It's like, we're trying to help you,
but we can't really help you, right and you and
(14:48):
I are parents, and the idea of kids missing, I
mean this case, you know, where are they in the galaxy?
You know they know they were that close, you know,
which was fortunate, But that's kind of like what I
what I was thinking. I don't how does that work?
Do they know what a republic emissary is? How do
(15:09):
you find it? Et cetera. But I think it was
good for them to see it. And kind of give them,
you know, the motivation to finish off the the adventure
and get back to add At and but uh, it
just it kind of left me frustrated. Honestly. You know, hey,
we care about you, and but we can't tell you
the coordinate is that at but find a Republic emissary
(15:32):
and of course they didn't see any of them the
whole time they were out in the galaxy. But I
don't know, maybe that would be easier than I thought,
But I don't know, what did you think?
Speaker 4 (15:40):
Well, you know, I definitely understand that because I kind
of was thinking that too. How do you contact the emissary?
I mean, obviously it's still and even now that still
continues to prove that they don't know what's going on
outside that barrier, I mean, the empire. They don't know
that the Republic fell, that there is no more in
(16:02):
the series. They are they're at a complete loss, which
which just proves so much and what they're uh how clueless.
I would say they truly are of the outside world.
Speaker 2 (16:17):
That's a really good point.
Speaker 4 (16:19):
And but at the same point what really frustrated me is,
of course, and then at that point Jod knows who
each of these kids parents are. So now he's got
more ammo he can use against these kids. You know,
if he was to ever get down to the planet,
(16:40):
then of course we have Uh. What really I enjoyed
about this scene is once the messages are over, women
is like if they're like, we got to do something
when was like attack and he just goes running at
the pirates and they're like they're just like grabbing him
at home, and there's like doing nothing to take care
(17:04):
of everything. And I will say there was a moment
here where I thought they would actually have a chance
because when he claims when Jod was they were on
that ship and Jod claims to be captain of the
the Onyx Sender, and s M. Thirty three says, you
(17:26):
can't be you captain of this other ship. You can't
be captain of two vessels. It's in the pirate code.
He goes, so this ship is up for grabs, and
of course what you see Whim's face light up and
he starts calling Claimsy's as John runs over, it covers
his mouth and claims to be captain of the Onyx Senda.
(17:51):
Then of course, uh, then of course that was priceless
and of itself. Then next thing you know, you have
three knock him out and crush his helmet, and I'm like,
this is the moment We've been waiting for since John
took control of SM thirty three and got the lightsaber
(18:15):
in the in the layer on the NUPA. We've been
waiting for him to just you know, punch him out
and start helping the kids, and we finally got it.
What were your reactions to that whole challenge of power?
What were your thoughts when you saw that?
Speaker 2 (18:33):
I love that stuff. It's claims, he's no claims, he's
uh jinks, binding me a coke, you know, all the
kids stuff. It is fun, how you know, John Watson
Christopher Ford have written in kind of this intermingling of
the Pirate's Code with how kids talk, you know, and
some of the silly stuff you know, we all did
as as as kids. I remember playing marbles all the
(18:58):
time as a as kids, and I remember one of
the things that we would say is no keepsies, Like
if it was a really really cool marble. I remember
my buddies and I if they had one eye one
and we're like, yeah, let's just play. But no keeps sees,
you know, so yeah, so no claims these no keeps thees.
So it is fun how they kind of mix that
(19:20):
in and and and that's some fun humor. And I
love how some thirty three says close enough, right, close enough.
Speaker 4 (19:28):
Yep, yep, close enough kid. Oh it was awesome and
uh three man. I love Destroid. I truly truly love Destroid,
and I loved we we didn't get the scene where
they're they've stolen the Onyx Cender. They're flying, they've left
(19:51):
the pirate ship and they're going through the barrier, and
of course you're being chased by two of the pirate
fighters that Vain launched, of course, and we see we
find out that the Onyx Cender is actually the ship
that the emissaries used to travel through the barrier, so
(20:13):
that's it's a safe passage in and out of the barrier,
which is awesome. We find that out in this and
of course we see on as are flying through the
barrier safely, the pirate ships getting blown up by the
security grid. But I loved seeing those giant almost like
(20:35):
shield generators that were kind of just floating in orbit,
these giant satellites that were like larger, like three times
the size of the Onyx Cender. Honestly, they were just
massive in the generating the electrical lightning things around it,
and it really and honestly seeing those really took me
(20:58):
back to the Clone Wars, to that one planet where
the kid has all the droids.
Speaker 2 (21:04):
Oh definitely, that was a really good one. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (21:07):
Yeah, because yeah, and I even mentioned this earlier in
the season when we were talking about the barrier, that
that's kind of what it remind you of. But seeing
those satellites with those those lightning for re bolts and
stuff come kind of generating from him, it really made
me go, yeah, there's some inspiration from Clone Wars in
there somewhere.
Speaker 2 (21:28):
Oh, definitely, definitely. You know, I have it as as
one of our Easter eggs, as you know, because I
know you have mentioned that before, and I can see
the kid and I remember, you know, him saying people
can't get in or out of it and all that
kind of stuff. But you know, the the thing, you know,
(21:49):
when I saw these and remember over at Akron, not
at at at Akron, we're wrecked. They don't remember that.
You know a lot of people didn't understand what they
was up in space and it's it's these things, but
they were they were wrecked, they were destroyed, they were
non functional over at Akron. But what they remind me
of is, I don't know if people remember Shattered Empire.
(22:14):
It came out. I'm trying to remember if it came
out about the same time as excuse me of coughing
here on the Aftermath trilogy by Chuck Winding. But the
Shattered Empire comic did this really cool job of showing
operations cinder. It was something that you know, the Emperor
put into place if he died, you know, if he
(22:37):
was killed and so on. And I remember seeing, you know,
these weather satellites above u Naboo. We see francs Lego
there and stuff. But the these these satellites, similar to
these things are generating devastating weather patterns over an entire planet.
(22:57):
And it's just you know, one way that you know,
the Emperor was trying to do operations center again burn
everything to the ground. So that's what these things reminded
me of. You know, they're creating weather now, unlike Shattered Empire,
where these these these you know, large space stations, weather
(23:19):
stations are generating destructive weather over the entire planet. Here
watson Ford have modified it and they're creating you know,
Brutus called it a toxic maelstrom you know around the
planet because once you through that, it's it's calm and peaceful,
you know, on at At, and so slightly different take
(23:40):
on it. But I thought, pretty cool, pretty cool stuff.
Speaker 4 (23:44):
Oh yeah, you know, I forgot about those settle those
uh stations in Shattered Empire. I would, man, you know,
I'm trying to remember. I think there's I was gonna say,
I was gonna go back and read it, but I
just I think I lost those in the flood. I
think I lost Shattered Empire in the flood. So I
(24:05):
have to try to get my hands on those again.
But that was a great story that when it was released,
and it's still a fantastic read if you want more
information on post return of the Jedi Star Wars story.
Speaker 2 (24:21):
So now.
Speaker 4 (24:25):
During this flight into through the barrier, we get through
the barrier and there it is just hanging in the
middle of a basically the eye of the storm is
the planet at At and the kids see it for
the first time and they are you could hear the
(24:46):
you could see the happiness and joy and everything in there,
and they're at it in their faces and their voices,
and next thing you know, ah, John is there. He
managed to jump on board right before the ramp finished closing,
(25:08):
and he hid until that right moment. And of course
he didn't have his blaster, but he did have his lightsaber,
and we begin to see Jod make use of that
lightsaber as he decapitates our favorite droid. I gotta say
(25:32):
I was not happy with that.
Speaker 2 (25:34):
Well, no, I you know, my daughter has watched every
episode of this with me, and when his voice you
could hear it, and then they showed him, my daughter
was so upset. She was not happy seeing him. And
then when he did that SM thirty three, You know
my daughter loves SM thirty three. So yeah, John is
(25:57):
not ought to win from and influence people. So no,
it was a real, real turn. And I was not
happy either, to say the least.
Speaker 4 (26:11):
No, absolutely not, and he is. John's frustrations are truly
growing at this point. You begin to see those frustrations
as he begins to lash out at the kids, telling
them to be quiet. You're always jabber, jabbage, average abber. Hey,
He's just he's had enough with the kids and is
(26:33):
just done that. Of course he they're on autopilot for
the planet and there's nothing he can do to stop it.
He can't reach the pirate ship to tell them that
at Aten's truly here. And then of course they come
in for a landing on at Atton. But as before
(26:54):
it lands, it cuts back to the parents who are
on at Aten. They are in a security room, the
conference room with security Droid, who is basically telling them
they are broke. They broke rules and this and that
and Supervisor's gonna have to And as he's talking about
super Holston, he just hold on and you seem kind
(27:18):
of look up, excuse me, and he turns and walks away,
and they're like, what's going on that All of a sudden,
for the first time, you hear the voice of the supervisor, Yeah, yeah,
announcing the arrival of the emissary of the Republic to
(27:39):
the vault. And apparently this, of course, we find out,
is the first time an emissary has arrived in a
long time. So they all moved to the window to look,
and all of a sudden, Kaby's mom was like, it's
kb because her little bracelet's going off which is of
course linked to her cybernetic all enhancements. And the excitement
(28:05):
begins to grow, and all of a sudden, we see
this field in front of the vault just kind of
magically open. It's kind of, I really got to say,
very ingenious landing platform. I was impressed.
Speaker 2 (28:22):
Yeah, clear, Yeah. Well, none of the people there knew
that it was going to do that. It's like they're like,
what what, you know? They've lived there for how many years?
And now the grounds opening up and then they're running
down the side of the hills. So clearly they had
not seen that happen before.
Speaker 4 (28:39):
Oh no, obviously no. I mean, and we kind of
try to. I mean, if we sit here and think
is I don't know. We know this takes place sometime
in the Mandalorian Ahsoka timeline somewhere in there, so we
know we're looking. We know Mandalorian takes place what ten
years started ten years after return of the Jedi, I
(29:00):
think it was. So you have that, then you have
the twenty eight years was it twenty eight, twenty eight,
twenty nine years of the Empire's role since the Republic fell,
So you literally have probably the adults that are there
literally probably never saw a Republic emissary come in before.
Speaker 2 (29:23):
Yeah, I agree.
Speaker 4 (29:26):
So, I mean, this is this is a new situation
for all of them, to the point that they didn't
even and obviously they hadn't seen one because they didn't
recognize John as not being an emissary, because I'm sure,
knowing the Republic, there would have been, you know, more
(29:48):
than one person on the ship, and there would have
been some kind of uniform exactly. Yeah, yeah, I mean
it makes sense to me they would have some kind
of dignitaries uniform, uh, to go in take care of things.
But yeah, o, hey, what do I know? And of
(30:14):
course they land, Jod comes off the ship and he's
of course being trailed by the kids, and of course
he gets addressed. They think John is the emissary, and
they decide to take him to the vault, and of
course that's when we see the elevator, the elevator ramped
go back down into the tunnel, and they go down
(30:40):
to the vault and it opens up and it is
I say, if I was a pirate, that'd probably be
the most beautiful thing I've ever seen.
Speaker 2 (30:48):
Oh gosh, unbelievable.
Speaker 4 (30:53):
Even not being a pirate, if I was just if
I was controlled by greed, that would be the most
beautiful thing I've ever seen.
Speaker 2 (31:03):
It.
Speaker 4 (31:04):
Kind of it kind of reminded me of, Uh, how
did you do you remember? Uh, I'm trying. Gosh, I
just blanked on the name Goldfinger, the Bond movie Goldfinger.
Speaker 2 (31:20):
Not now it's shot that's shot con.
Speaker 4 (31:23):
Yeah, it's when when they when the bad guy in
that movie's Goldfinger and he breaks into uh his whole
goal is to break in and steal the gold from
Fort Knox. Okay, And of course, kind of the way
the vault opens up and Fort Knox and he walks
(31:44):
in and you see all that gold kind of reminded
me of this vault opens up and you see all
those golden credits. It's just kind of Then, of course,
he job is like talking to the droid and he's like, man,
what's uh, what's all this? How many of these vaults
(32:04):
do you have? Then he walks over to just the
cart that's sitting there ready to be loaded, and he
just goes to pick one up, and then they all
just start pouring off the tray and just are constantly pouring,
and he drops to his knees and he puts his
head in it, and all the credits are falling on
his head and he just begins to laugh uncontrollably because
(32:26):
you know, he is fun. This is what he has
been searching for this whole time. This is I mean,
his whole life. He's been searching for a payday like
this to never have to deal with it again now
and he's seeing the culmination of all his hard work
(32:47):
coming into reality with all these credits in front of him,
And it was quite a it was quite an interesting scene,
to be perfectly honest. What were your thoughts when during
that whole vault scene with him seeing the credits for
the first time.
Speaker 2 (33:07):
Well, I kept thinking back to the uh, was it
was it the previous I was trying to think if
it was was it was it the previous episode zero
Friends again where he's on the Pirate figure and he
talks about being hungry, yes, and never having enough credits,
(33:29):
you know, and here you see that said than he's
ever seen ever, Like probably most people in the entire
galaxy have never seen this many credits in one place.
So it's quite a you know, think about that, you know,
it's a myth, it's it's you know, it's a planet
of untold treasure and it really is. He found it.
(33:55):
He's got to be just mind blowing to him.
Speaker 4 (33:58):
Oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah, absolutely, and we get
actually one of the best Easter eggs. And this is
an Easter egg that you actually have to think about
if you to really understand what the Easter egg. Actually
very brilliant by by Watson Ford to write this in there,
(34:19):
because he's looking around at this vault and he's totally amazing.
He's like, how many how many vaults like this do
you have? And the droids like, we have one thousand,
three hundred or one hundred and thirty nine.
Speaker 2 (34:36):
That's right.
Speaker 4 (34:37):
So that means besides the vault he's in, there are
exactly one thousand, one hundred and thirty eight more.
Speaker 2 (34:44):
That's right, that's right, buddy.
Speaker 4 (34:46):
Eleven thirty eight, of course, is the reference to THHX
eleven thirty eight, which, of course was one of the
founder's greatest or first, not greatest, one of his first films,
THHX eleven thirty eight. So I thought that was a
pretty cool, cool nod there. It was awesome. But of course,
(35:10):
while there John is basking in his golden glory. The
kids are standing on the ramp of the ship and
they basically a car, not a car, but an hother
car shows up with their parents on it, and of
course we have that warm reunion where everybody's happy to
(35:33):
see each other, and Jod comes out and introduces himself
and basically tells them that the kids are in trouble
because they broke the rules and they put it out
at and in danger and all this, and he orders
the droids to take them away and keep them locked up,
and of course he knights his lightsaber evidence.
Speaker 2 (35:59):
That's right, that's right, I know, the cliffhanger, right.
Speaker 4 (36:04):
Oh, yes, the cliffhanger. The cliffhanger. So what were your
thoughts on that? Cliff Haer?
Speaker 2 (36:16):
That was that was? You know, I was like, you know,
like I'd mentioned in my opening comments, my initial reactions,
I was like, you can't, you can't do that to us,
you know, it's not fair. But it was a really
good ending with him having that blade out. It's it's
(36:36):
it is pretty wild to see a blue blade being
used like that in a threat manner. Right. We're used
to red ones doing that, so it's a little weird
to see him doing this like he did on the ship, right,
you know, he had sent her and he had it
in their face, and you know, and then even you know,
we talked about how dark it was to shoot Brutus
(36:57):
in the face. But then he's like, I'm going to
carve you up and I'll carve up your parents. I
was like, wow, he was getting a bit darker than
I thought it would, you know. And but then at
the end there, you know, it's in a very threatening way,
you know, and you see the kids' faces and then
boom cut to credits. But uh, you know I've said
(37:19):
it before, you know, the my dad said it. My
dad went to him this Saturday morning cereals. He's sewing.
He goes, oh my gosh, Dave Buck Rodgers and flash
Gordon and buy a tutsie roll that you know, with
the size of your head and you get a bag
of popcorn. And then all of a sudden, you know,
it's the Cliffhanger and i'd have to come back the
(37:40):
you know, the next week at the theater. You know,
we'll go to the theater. And he said it was great,
and it's fun. Cliffhangers can be fun. You're kind of like, oh,
come on, but really it's it is fun and this
was a really good cliffhanger.
Speaker 4 (37:56):
It truly is. And I just realized I care best.
I had a Carabass moment and didn't even realize it
untill after you started talking, and I realized that the
episode ended with Job walking up and igniting his lightsaber.
He hadn't told the parents the kids were in troll at.
That's the opening scene of the finale Caravass. But yeah,
(38:26):
fantastic ending to the episode. Great cliffhanger, perfect way to
set up a season finale. So yeah, I thought that
was pretty cool. What any any other things you wanted
to hit on that we haven't touched talked about yet?
Speaker 2 (38:47):
No, no, I wanted to hit those two Easter eggs,
the Tex eleven thirty eight and and really kind of
you know your view in my view, the reminders of
the Barrier, and really how it does feel like watson
Ford is pulling from the Clone Wars and from that
Shattered Empire comic, which you know, I really enjoyed both
(39:09):
that Clone Wars episode and the and the comic. So
those are the two things that I wanted to make
sure we mentioned, you know, and and go from there.
But no, I think we've done a good job on
this all right, perfect.
Speaker 4 (39:21):
Perfect, Well, with that, let's go ahead and jump into
final reactions here and uh get this completed. Uh, I'll
go ahead and go first, since you started off with
initial reactions you know again, like I said a few
moments ago, just a fantastic ending, uh, to the fantastic
(39:46):
second to last episode to lead us into a finale.
Speaker 2 (39:50):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (39:50):
This it was full of edge of your seat action
and suspense. There was danger, there was fun, There was explosions,
and to reach their goal and the danger to still
be there is just ah, it's bone rattling, very fun episode.
Speaker 2 (40:11):
I am.
Speaker 4 (40:11):
I'm absolutely loving this series. It is to me, it's
a huge win for for Lucasfilm. Soh bravo, bravo, bravo, bravo.
How about you and my friend? What are your final
reactions to to the episode? We're gonna be in so
much trouble?
Speaker 2 (40:31):
Well, I do you know, I've said it before and
you you said it so well. All the action and
excitement and and you know, I really felt like this
this episode really did work perfectly as a penultimate episode,
you know, and it entertained the entire time while while
setting up what you and I are hoping that, you know,
it will be a great season finale, and I hope
(40:52):
it's season finale not series finale. It does say season finale,
but uh, you know, we just don't know. But I'm really,
you know, hoping again that in the final episode that
we'll get a number of our questions and mysteries answered.
(41:14):
You know, his job uh really for sensitive is that
magnets and his gloves, you know those kind of things.
Uh what else? Oh, you know, will will we uh
will we see you know, uh Kim come back into
the story. I feel like she will because of her
(41:37):
telling KB, hey call me if you need me. What else?
What are some other mysteries? Uh? Yeah, who's the supervisor? Right?
You know what? What what is that all about? So
we'll we'll get all those answers hopefully in the season finale.
But but I love this one is again I got
to keep saying penultimate, penultimate, penultimate episodes. So it really
(42:01):
was great. I enjoyed it, and I'm ready to see
the finale you know with you and then comments on it, So.
Speaker 4 (42:11):
Absolutely, absolutely, we definitely are, and of course we want
to hear from you and hear what you have thought

Speaker 2 (44:19):
Well, there's a certain combinations, you know.
Speaker 4 (44:23):
Yeah, there's certain combinations that just trip me up. And
that does it so well, my friend, you know what that.
Speaker 2 (44:33):
Means trying to close the show, right.
Speaker 4 (44:37):
Yep, with the best part of the show, the Star
Wars Dad joke.
Speaker 2 (44:41):
Of the week.
Speaker 4 (44:43):

joke of the week for you this week. Here we go.
What's the most important part of making the jump to hyperspace?
Speaker 2 (45:10):
I don't know what's the most important part of making
the jump to hyper space?
Speaker 4 (45:15):
You've got a planet?
Speaker 2 (45:18):
Oh oh my god, that's that was the slow burn
I had to I'm like, oh, oh, that's pretty good. Actually,
don't you think that's pretty this.
Speaker 4 (45:38):
You've got to planets. Oh my god, plant you know
what Hans says. You can't just jump the hyperspace. You
fly through an asteroid, right through a moon or something.
Speaker 2 (45:49):
Oh yeah, yeah, Oh I love it, I love it.
