Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hi, this is Colby from the Colby Cast and you're
listening to Star Wars Reactions.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
Elegant discussion for a more civilized age. He's been annoy you.
Speaker 3 (00:14):
In nineteen seventy seven, George Lucas formed a legacy with me.
I am inspired by mythology. His saga has become a
passion for many. His legend has become our story, one
of resistance.
Speaker 2 (00:32):
We are like.
Speaker 3 (00:36):
Rebellion and redemption.
Speaker 2 (00:40):
I am Jay, my father.
Speaker 3 (00:42):
This is Star Wars Reactions.
Speaker 2 (00:44):
Imember. We'll be with you always.
Speaker 1 (00:50):
Well, hello, everybody, I'm welcome to another exciting edition of
Star Wars Reactions. We're going to have a great show
for you tonight. We are so excited to be back
behind the mics, both of us for the first time
since so Cali Comic Con. It's going to be a great,
great night because there is some good things to react
(01:14):
to this week. So let's get some introductions out of
the way and get the party started. My name is
Aaron Harrison. Joining me is the Man, the Myth, the Legend,
the Mando to my grogu, the David Motyrs.
Speaker 2 (01:34):
David. What's up, brother, my brother? Well, what's up?
Speaker 4 (01:38):
Is uh?
Speaker 2 (01:40):
We're recording again. You know, we did it Okla Comic
Con and that is hard to beat. Man, that was
one of the best weekends I've ever had, spending time
with you, Mary and Chaz, with Greg it was incredible
and the whole Rebels crew and Katie sack Off and
Tate Fletcher and oh my gosh, what that's tough to beat.
That's gonna be tough to be but you know, I'm
(02:02):
ready to react and I'm just excited to be on.
I mentioned it to you before we started recording. Thank
you for always doing those Saga World reports. I listened
to them, every single one you do, and I love it.
And you've even throwing a dead joke of the week
and that was fun and a growner but yeah, yeah,
(02:24):
what engineers was it?
Speaker 1 (02:26):
Or engineers engineers?
Speaker 2 (02:30):
You know I was groaning anyways, So, but no, thanks
for always holding down the ford on those, and I'm
just looking forward to to reacting with you. And you
actually gave a perfect kind of Mando to Grogu kind
of comparison, and that really kind of gives a hint
to what we're covering tonight.
Speaker 1 (02:50):
Absolutely it does, and I thought it was perfect for
this episode too, because we are sharing our reactions for
the very first time to the recently released the Mandalorian
and Grogu trailer that was released.
Speaker 2 (03:10):
This was We were at.
Speaker 1 (03:15):
Okala Comic Con the weekend of the was it the
twentieth and twenty first we were, and we all went
home and went our separate ways, and we woke up
and started our day on Monday the twenty second to
a surprise, which was this incredible trailer for Mando and Grogu,
(03:39):
which was quite quite a surprise. I heard rumors that
there was one coming out, but I thought it would
be a little later than this, perfectly honest, but I
take it man. This was a great surprise minute thirty
five trailer that only had like two words spoken in it.
Speaker 2 (04:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (04:00):
Never has so much been said with so few words.
Speaker 2 (04:04):
That's right, That's right.
Speaker 1 (04:06):
Almost felt like I was watching Castaway for a moment
now talking.
Speaker 2 (04:11):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (04:12):
But fantastic trailer, and they released a fantastic poster as well.
So we will wanted to share our reactions and our
thoughts to what we saw. Break it down a little bit.
We'll pay out some pieces that we thought were kind
of jumped out at us as interesting and go from there.
(04:34):
So I think the first question we're going to tackle
is and I'm going to toss it to you, David. Yeah,
what was your first reaction to watching this trailer?
Speaker 2 (04:48):
Just a fun laughter, fun laughter. This was just a
hood you know this. I've heard some people talk about
how this was really kind of a trailer for the kid,
you know, marketing towards the kids. And you know what
my understanding is, and we've kind of seen it a
little bit is the one that they did in April
(05:08):
back at Star Wars Celebration Japan. It was a little
bit more for the adults and the action that they
showed there. But uh, this I was just laughing. I
love Grogu holding up to the Let's Go Away, his
little sounds, trying to get food from Sigourney Weaver swimming
and then you know, I'm jumping through all of it.
(05:29):
But just a lot of fun little clips and shots,
and of course I love An Zellen's you know, and
so baby Grogu with Ian Zellens is a hit. So
that was my first reaction, Just a big smile, laughter,
and listen, I'm already in Let's go Oh.
Speaker 1 (05:46):
Well, I think there's no question that we're already sold
on this, to say the least. This is something we
have been anticipating. We have been waiting for since it
was announced. You mentioned the other they showed it celebration,
which was a little bit longer than this, but was
never released to the public. We we saw videos like
(06:10):
and then probably a lot of y'all out there saw
it too, where somebody had snuck their cell phone in
and recorded the screen when they weren't supposed to. Shame
on them, but thank you.
Speaker 2 (06:21):
It got pulled down pretty quick too. It got pulled
down pretty quick.
Speaker 1 (06:25):
Yes, but it popped up a couple other places too.
So it popped up one place, they pulled it down,
and pop up somewhere else. They'd pull it down, so
they Disney was on it, so it would be it
would be up for less than twenty four hours before
it gets pulled down. But I didn't in that time.
I did manage to watch that one a couple several times,
(06:45):
but this one was and you're right, it's a very
distinct trailer to this one. This one, like I said,
there's literally only two words and one is one is
spoken by Mando and one is spoken by the The
hut we see in the arena, so so and the
(07:06):
hut in the arena basically gave us the UH, the
the answer, we the response we all had to this trailer,
which was yes, which was which was great, but fantastic trailer.
Getting to see UH a lot of you know, little
funny things with with the asliens and of course with
(07:28):
UH gro goo. We get to see a glimpse of
Sigourney Weaver, which according to UH. Now that we got
the trailer out, we've gotten a little bit more information.
Her character is actually named. I just had it, saw
it and had it written down here there it is
Colonel Ward. Okay, so she has Colonel Ward. So I'm
(07:52):
assuming she is with the New Republic if she's Colonel Ward.
So there every I don't remember. I don't remember a
colonel in the Empire.
Speaker 2 (08:04):
I don't either. But I thought that she was called bishop.
I don't is she Colonel Bishop Ward, Colonel Ward? I
thought she was called bishop back when that first kind
of back when celebration was out, and I don't know.
I didn't go back to look at that coverage to
see if she said who her name was or not.
I didn't play the what is it when you when
(08:27):
you you have the close caption where it'll say Mandalorian's
saying this baby Grogu. So but no, so you're yeah,
I know you're at Star Wars dot com and it
shows Colonel Ward.
Speaker 1 (08:37):
Yeah, it only shows Colonel Ward. If they, if I will,
I will say this, if they if her first name
is Bishop, and it'll be priceless because that is you know,
they're they're doing that as a nod to Aliens because
that was one of the characters in Aliens that Yeah,
it was Lance Henrickson's character and in Aliens, I believe,
(09:03):
so that would be a nice little little nod there.
But we get we do get to see her. We
get to see a lot of action, a lot of fighting. Uh,
we get to see some stormtroopers. I know you mentioned
the scene with Grogu peeking through the telescope and seeing
(09:23):
some stormtroopers down there. But it was a fantastic trailer.
And of course the one thing that you know, I
missed that you caught and I don't know how I
missed it with with with you know, y'all know me.
I'm I eat, sleep, drink, pantasize about rebels. I do
(09:44):
it all. But somehow I missed Zeb in the trailer.
I don't know how I missed that, but Zeb is
in the trailer, and of course what what I liked
about seeing been the trailer. Once you pointed out, I
scrolled through and I found him. Is he's fighting, right,
(10:05):
He is in the action. He is right in the
midst of it. He's got his bow staff, he is
fighting and it so which tells me he's going to
have a some action in this movie, which is we
haven't seen him in action since Rebels, so this will
be fantastic. So let's uh, you know, I've I've kind
(10:28):
of already kind of jumped into picking out pieces of
the puzzle that I like.
Speaker 2 (10:32):
Here.
Speaker 1 (10:33):
How about you, David, what were some of the things
in this trailer that you enjoyed seeing and that you
enjoyed as part of.
Speaker 2 (10:41):
Well, one of the first things you and I have
to talk about is what do we calling it Razorcrest
two point zero? Are we call it the new Crest?
Is it going to be the Razor Crest? And it
does have some new yellow striping on it. It does
look bigger, you know, is that end one star fighter
in the back? You know, some play. You know, these
(11:01):
are all questions I have, And so to see that
at the beginning was really really cool. It does look
bigger when you when you look at it, do you
do you agree? Does it look bigger to you longer
in the back too? It?
Speaker 1 (11:16):
It does look a little bit different from the original
Razor crest I mean, it's definitely something that I think
they got some expining to do. Yes, because we do
remember it blowing up, and which means this is which
leads me to two things. You know, One, is this
(11:40):
a new Razor crest Or or are we telling a
story before it blew up?
Speaker 2 (11:47):
Yeah? I would think it's a new one to me,
you know, because it really was disintegrated. Remember the only
piece that he got out was that best car spear right, correct?
Speaker 1 (11:56):
Correct. But I'm saying, is it is it a story
that occurred? Have they stepped back in time to tell
a story that happened before the incit it blew up?
Speaker 2 (12:07):
Blew it up? Well, I'll say this, and I've heard
a few other podcasts, you know, do some coverage of this.
But at the very beginning, when you see that the
razorcress or in the new one, see it going over
the water and then over to the left. I noticed
people didn't comment on this, but you can see the
(12:27):
new Republic base that we see at the end of
season three. Now, I haven't heard anybody comment on that,
so I get a sense that that is a new one.
And you see it flying there to that base. Now
we like I said, if it wasn't, then I would
tend to think that it maybe was a story beforehand.
(12:49):
But you know, he yeah, I tend to think it's
I tend to think it's a new ship because of
seeing that there, and and I think they want to
do some adventures, and I get a sense that End
one Starfighters back there. I I hope it is anyways.
Speaker 1 (13:06):
Oh yeah, no, definitely, I hope it isso. But then
of course, like you mentioned that, uh that the Republic base.
You know, then it's got me asking the question, will
we see Carson Tava.
Speaker 2 (13:24):
Uh or or uh? Right?
Speaker 3 (13:27):
Or not?
Speaker 1 (13:33):
Acts as wolves? What was his character's name?
Speaker 2 (13:37):
Oh got a blanket? Now no, look it up at
VAMP for a while. But uh no, like I said,
I mean just seeing that there chrise, we see zeb
there at that new Republic base, right, it's very tropical,
you know, it's kind of got the tent kind of things.
You got the name Wolf. There we go, Trappolo was
in there, right, he was there, zeb was there of course.
(13:59):
We you know Colonel Ward, right, Gourney Weavers. So so
I do think it's a new ship that that they
are flying in there, But like you said, they've got
some explaining, like where did they get the ship? Did?
Did Polymoto help him track down one? That would make
sense to me Palmoto or or he bought one someplace
(14:20):
or whatever that you could have a lot of fun.
Speaker 1 (14:22):
With this, Oh, you definitely could. Then it also brings
me to to wonder you brought up Pelimoto? Will we
see Pelimoto?
Speaker 2 (14:33):
What?
Speaker 3 (14:34):
What?
Speaker 1 (14:34):
What characters that? I mean, we we've seen a few
that we're gonna see. We've seen Mando, We've seen Grogu,
We've seen zeb We've seen Sigourney Weaver's Colonel h Ward,
Colonel Ward. But what characters are you hoping to see
(14:55):
in this movie that we have not seen a glimpse
of yet?
Speaker 2 (15:00):
Well, definitely I love her. I do love that that actress.
What is Amy Sedaris? I think I might be messing
up her last name, but I was trying to think
of other people have come along the way. Of course, Well,
oh boy, you know, the big elephant in the room
is you know, Carl Weathers. You know, we're not going
to probably be able to see him. I don't know
(15:20):
that they would have filmed anything before his passing. But
you know the other one that I've heard some people
rumoring it's not gonna happen, but Cara Doon. That would
be kind of crazy, that that.
Speaker 1 (15:34):
Would be fun. But I'm not holding my breath.
Speaker 2 (15:37):
No, no, what else? What other characters have we seen
across the way. I mean, I know that of course
we've seen you know, Bocatan and the Mandalorians you know
with you know, and him with them. So I don't know,
I guess some of those guys. I was trying to
think of some other characters that we see throughout the
(16:00):
series season one, season two, season three. You know, I'm
not sure who are you thinking? Who would you like
to see?
Speaker 1 (16:10):
Well, you know, there's all you hit A lot of
the ones I would want to see, you know, I
would love to see. It hurts Carl Weathers isn't going
to be there, and I and I'm sure they will
do something in honor of Carl they are done very
good in and when it comes to the passing of
(16:34):
somebody at that point that that's been involved in Star Wars,
so seeing him there would would be cool to see.
So I really would like to see that. However they
decide to make that nod. It's one of those things,
(17:00):
is that. Uh you know, yeah, some of the Mandalorians
we'd like to see back. We see the armor you
mentioned Boctan all right, you know, honestly, I would like
to see, uh, some of the some of a couple
of people on the Imperial site, like the I'm blanking
(17:22):
on her name, but the character she was. She worked
for Gideon, was captured by the New Republic, and then
we see her on Coroussant and she for killing uh
the doctor. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I would like to see
her back come back here at some point because obviously
(17:44):
she's under cover for Gideon based on on her actions there.
I would love to see obviously, you know, we're dealing
with Gideon clones is what everybody's assuming, which makes sense, uh,
in the storytelling from season three, So you know, I
(18:06):
expect to see Gideon a version of Gideon, true, true.
I expect to see.
Speaker 5 (18:15):
Throng okay, I but I expect it to be like
the end of the movie, okay, and like, yes, like
a post credit scene. No, okay, okay, I can see however,
(18:36):
whatever happens in this movie. However, the bad guy's defeated
in this movie, uh yeah, then limping back, limping away,
calling for help, and all of a sudden Star Destroyer
arrives and there's Pelion, and yeah, I think that it's
(18:56):
the perfect setup for the next season of Ahsoka. It
would get people excited.
Speaker 2 (19:02):
Yeah, I mean, well, and we do see the shadow
councol there, you know, Gideon talking to them of course Paleon,
and if we saw a little bit of them, that
would tie in nicely to the end of season three there,
right is that? Yeah? Yeah, that would that would really
flow right into season two. And of course Dave Ploni
has said that the second half of Ahsoka, if it's
(19:24):
eight seas, episode's last four is a battle of grown right,
So so I can see it. I'm feeling of that
post credit scene.
Speaker 1 (19:34):
I would love to see that, and I think that
would be a great, a great thing. Who else I
would like to see, Yeah, Harrah, Chopper, Jason and EO.
I would love this would be the perfect opportunity to
stage the reunion of Ezra ends up. Wow.
Speaker 2 (20:00):
Wow, wow man, Now that you're saying that.
Speaker 1 (20:05):
There's thing is there's so much they can do in
this movie. Wow, your your imagination is gonna run wild,
you know, And we don't like spec like that's why
we're throwing out these are things that, you know, what
would we like to see. We're not gonna speculate what
they're going to do where it's like, these are things
we would like to see. We're not saying they're doing it.
(20:26):
We have no inside information, but I mean, these are
things that would be fun. These are things that they
could do. Sure, and it's you know, but you know,
looking at what they've given us. They gave us a
trailer design to make your brain go yeah yeah. All
(20:47):
you had action, you had laughter, and you only had
two words spoken. So you literally have no clue what
the storyline is.
Speaker 2 (20:55):
No in this one. No, no, there's no story uh
given away here.
Speaker 1 (21:01):
No, No, not at all. I mean you see a
little bit of action, yeah, you see a little bit
going on, but you do you have no clue what
the actual story and mission is in this movie. It
is uh incredible opportunity for them to do something awesome.
And I just noticed in the article on Star Wars
(21:25):
dot com it is a new Razor crust. You're calling
it a brand new Razor Crust. Okay, so but this
is something that is going to be incredible h to
take to take on going forward. I mean, I'm just
so excited.
Speaker 2 (21:46):
Well, and the feedback off you know what you were
mentioning there about you know, uh thun and and and
something that you think about this when we see the
stormtroopers right and the trailer there's there are Imperials, so
they haven't transitioned over to uh first well first shorder right,
(22:08):
because we're we're we're in the mand overse here. This
is post return of the Jedi. Obviously we see at
eighties the big big shot at the end, right, so
we see you know, some remnants of course Thrown has
his time era Star Destroyer remnants, so that you know,
so we got these. You know, we're not there yet,
(22:29):
we're not too first shorder. And but you know seeing
the the at eights, seeing uh stormtroopers, right, Imperial stormtroopers
still still some remnants there. It kind of helps us,
you know, with the time. And I guess the other thing.
(22:50):
You know, if we switch over to the poster, we
see Mando on a what is it like a walker bike?
I almost feels like a Clone Wars era one, you know.
So it's bringing maybe the remnants of the Clone Wars,
maybe some some gears, some text still from there, right,
And so just I like that. I think, of course
(23:13):
on the poster we see X Wings, right, we see
the X Wings. We see the at At Walkers on there,
and you know, we see baby baby Yoda with an
Zelen's and see zeb and and all that kind of stuff.
So so again, I just it's cool to see these
kind of these touch points that we've known from the
(23:35):
original trilogy with the storm Troopers, the at A t
s and even some Clone Oars stuff in there. So
pretty cool.
Speaker 1 (23:42):
Oh yeah, it is pretty cool. And you know there
there is a lot of a lot of things going
to happen. And I love how they did the poster.
You brought the poster up, so let's talk about it. Yes,
it is a very old school Hollywood style poster. This
looks like some thing you know, I would a scene
with it. Honestly reminds me a lot of the Gunga
(24:04):
Deen poster with Carrie Grant and all them, which I
can't even remember what year that movie was made, but
the way it's designed, the the the graphics, the font,
everything is very very old school Hollywood action picture.
Speaker 2 (24:26):
You know that the.
Speaker 1 (24:27):
Starrying Pedro Pascal as dim jar and and Grogu as himself.
Speaker 2 (24:33):
That's hilarious. I mean.
Speaker 1 (24:36):
It is, It's perfect. You know, this is gonna be
one of those secrets, you know, because he makes his
whimpers and his wines and all this. This is gonna
be one of those things that they're going to carry
to the very very end before they tell us who's
doing the whimper and the winding.
Speaker 2 (24:49):
Like they did with.
Speaker 1 (24:50):
Chopper, right right, Chopper was always through rebels, Chopper as himself,
Chopper as himself. Then in the very the very last episode,
Chopper by Dave Dave Floyd is Chopper.
Speaker 2 (25:04):
What exactly well? And you know when you look at
the font, you know they change it from the traditional
Mandalorian fawn and kind of very Indiana Jones esque, you know,
the posters. I love that. It made me think of
the serials that you know, you and I've talked before
on the podcast. You know, my dad grew up watching
Flash Courton, going every Saturday watching the cereals, seeing the Cliffhanger,
(25:27):
coming back next week for more get TSI Roll popcorn.
My dad said it was great. So that's what the
you know, these posters remind me of Saturday morning cereals,
that's what they were called. And my dad went to
see Flash Gordon Bucker Rodgers. Oh my gosh, you know,
and this is hitting it all the all the this
movie poster. I love it. I love this poster. It's
(25:49):
so fun.
Speaker 1 (25:50):
Yeah, I will say, through through all the movies they've done,
you know, going all the way back to seventy seven
and the prequels and the sequels and Rogue one, and
so this is the best movie poster I've seen them do.
I love the others, but there's just something special about
this poster that just you know, it's it's very it's
(26:14):
just very antiquey. Yeah, this is this is one, you know,
this is one I would put up in my in
my room. I'm gonna have to get this and put
it up in the studio.
Speaker 2 (26:26):
Oh definitely.
Speaker 1 (26:27):
Yeah. I got this nice wall right behind me, which
I got plans for this wall, but about two feet
to the left there's going to be a blank spot
which it would hang perfectly, right, I see.
Speaker 2 (26:37):
Yeah, Well, and here's the thing, Like, you know, classic
movie posters really do go with Star Wars. You know,
even the you know, the Clone Warst movie, you know
that came on August of two thousand and eight. A right,
is that? Right? Yes? You know I love that, But
this is one. You know, I don't collect the movie posters,
(26:59):
collect a lot of off, but I agree with you
that this is what I would like to have up.
Speaker 1 (27:03):
On the wall. Yeah, I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna
have to do some searching for this one, because you know,
my the rest of my house is rebuilt, my office
is built. I just got putting it still putting it together.
I'm so bad. I've been so lazy when it comes
to putting my studio back together. I got the rest
(27:26):
of the house done, and I've just been like, I'm done.
I need a break and I'm done, and I just
don't want to do it. But this this weekend, no
matter what, it's getting done. My wife's already told me
I got to get the rest of my boxes off
the porch. It's getting done this weekend, whether I want
to or not. But maybe not stuff hung up on
(27:50):
the wall yet, but there's gonna be plenty of things
to go up on the wall.
Speaker 2 (27:59):
What is that? What are you seeing? It's Halloween, man,
so I don't know if you're seeing stuff. All right.
Aaron is checking something out in the Star Wars Reaction studio, which,
by the way, is very cool. He's got these Han
solo dice hanging from his Okay, you're taking a picture
(28:22):
of it, Okay, so yeah, Aaron's doing something. I will
say this as Aaron is doing that. Of course, we
were at Okayla Comic Con and we got to meet
four of the five. I was just saying, we got
to meet four of the five voice actors. And what
I was going to comment on is the movie poster
(28:43):
and the clip of Zeb. So Zeb's on the movie poster.
It's really cool to see him there. He's in a
quick clip in the in the trailer, and and one
of the things I was thinking about, I think I
was talking to Aaron about it before we hit the
record button, was you've got you know here we are
getting these great pictures with Steve bloom. Right on Sunday
(29:05):
the twenty first, The very next day, this trailer comes
out with zeb his character, and here he is on
the movie poster, and I wonder, I don't know if
they maybe told him that it was coming out. Maybe
he didn't know. Maybe he didn't know, you know, they
you know. But it's it's just cool though, you know,
like just to be talking to him and seeing him
(29:26):
in the very next day, Boom, he's on the movie
poster and in the trailer.
Speaker 1 (29:29):
So so that's what I saw. Oh my gosh, it's
a totally roach. I just sent you where he was sitting.
He was sitting on top of Chopper.
Speaker 2 (29:41):
Who put him there?
Speaker 1 (29:42):
I have no clue. I literally have sitting there. I
look up, I'm like, wait, what the and this brown
thing sitting on top of Chopper? Like, what is on
top of my droid?
Speaker 2 (29:53):
Was that your wife playing a prank?
Speaker 1 (29:54):
He promised?
Speaker 2 (29:55):
Likely was.
Speaker 1 (29:56):
I'm mostly either that where it was my oldest when
she came home from college last weekend. So yeah, yeah,
just she's good. She's good at stuff like that. You know,
she's good. We used to hide this thing all the
time across across the house. Okay, just to scare each other.
(30:17):
We put it in open a pantry. You'd be there,
open up there, just randomly. I I thought it was gone,
but apparently somebody found it.
Speaker 2 (30:28):
This isn't a Cara Beast moment. This is a squirrel
A tangent.
Speaker 1 (30:33):
Yes, that's exactly what that was. Definitely off on a tangent.
I apologize for that, y'all, but yeah, sorry, I'll uh,
I'll post that picture. It'll be in our show notes.
I will include it in the show notes on Tumblr,
because I can't do it on can't put it in
the show notes on on spreaker or so they show
(30:54):
up on Apple or anywhere else, but I can't put
them in the show notes on Tumblr. And I will
make sure that that photo is there for you to enjoy.
So it gives you an excuse to stop by our
tumber page just to see what what distracted me? All right,
So back to back to Mando, back to Mando and Grogu.
(31:18):
But this is you know, an exciting, exciting time, you know,
with this movie coming out. Of course we are looking
at we are looking at the movie coming out this
coming May May twenty second, twenty twenty six, is when
(31:39):
it is coming out, so be on the lookout for that.
We will be watching it and we will do as
much wift to wa have to do some kind of
round table, get some people together, do a round table
discussion or something, go to maybe get all together and
I don't know, get together with a bunch of people.
Speaker 2 (31:55):
And yeah, it'd be fun if you've got Marion chairs,
you know, maybe watch it out in Orlando, maybe, yeah,
or opening night or something.
Speaker 1 (32:03):
I don't know, you want to reach out to Jason
Braims see join us and yeah, the whole bunch of
people together in Orlando. Yeah, and watch this, watch and
record a little bit afterwards.
Speaker 2 (32:15):
So yeah, yeah, we talk about the very end of
the Little Stinger at the end of the of the trailer.
Speaker 1 (32:21):
Yes, Oh my gosh.
Speaker 2 (32:23):
So this I'm just cracking me up with. And I
believe it's the woman who does the voice of Bobby
Freak right in the Rise of Skywalker. And uh, you
see an end Zell and I think it's bobbu Freak
unless she's the voice of all the little end zelence.
I'm not sure we'll find out. But all of a sudden,
you see this kind of bat like monster opens its
(32:45):
mouth and baby Grogu has got like a sling shot
out of Ezra right risks sling slot, you know, and
meeting Taylor Gray a couple of weekends ago, and and
shoots is green like almost like slime, you know, like
back when we were a kid, like slime right onto
his eyes and covers it. And then you hear a
little like I'm gonna say, Babu freaks say good shot baby,
(33:07):
you know, and it just cracks me up. I love them.
Speaker 1 (33:11):
So we had a little more than three two words. Yeah, yeah,
but it was Yeah, that was a nice little clip
at the end, just to get you one good laugh
before before the trailer ended. And it it was we
saw a lot of van Zellen's in this trailer, Yeah, yes,
and we know they if we saw him and raise
a Skywalker, was it Raise Skywalker?
Speaker 2 (33:38):
Yes?
Speaker 1 (33:40):
So, so we're seeing them more and more and of
course makes me wonder how big of a role they're
going to play in this because they are. You see
them quite a bit in this trailer.
Speaker 2 (33:49):
Yeah, you really do. Yeah, I love them. I'm I'm
just I'm loving them more and more. And you know,
in the backstory is oh what is his name? Shrew? Oh?
I'm blocking on his name. He's an Anzel and his
he helped to build the Hell's you know, the star cruiser.
(34:13):
That's kind of the backstory. And I remember in the
Marvel comics they showed him. I can see him right now.
But there's a little door. There was a door inside
the galactic star cruiser Rest in Peace that closed September thirtieth,
two years ago. So with that little door, i'll find
(34:34):
the name. But he was, Yeah, Manzellen is behind, you know,
creating it on Corelia, you know, Yeah, so Chandrulin's star line.
Speaker 1 (34:45):
So yes, yeah, it's it's definitely gonna be interesting to
see because we see a lot of you know this
and this is something from our past, David. We see
a lot of creatures in this.
Speaker 2 (35:00):
Yes, yes, we see the Anzellens.
Speaker 1 (35:03):
We see zeb who's alas, we see uh that snake
thing rising out of the water.
Speaker 2 (35:13):
A man of man, A man of man was his name, right, And.
Speaker 1 (35:17):
Yeah, I believe, Yeah, we see him. I mean, it's
nice to see a lot of alien species showing back up.
Speaker 2 (35:26):
Yeah. The other one, and I meant to look at it,
was when when when Mando is in the ring fighting
and he's got his I think he's some kind of
staff or gun around that thing's neck. That long neck.
I think that thing is modeled on the Jerry table.
(35:47):
Remember that one that comes over, picks the one up
and throws him down. He has a long neck. I
think this is the live action version of that character
that we see originally in nineteen seventy seven. Yeah, does
that make sense? You know, the one that grabs him, Yeah,
rolls them down. Yeah. Yeah, he's got the long neck
(36:08):
and and you know you see Mando on the back
of and kind of right, yeah, yeah, Now I have
a question.
Speaker 1 (36:15):
It is shrugged.
Speaker 2 (36:18):
Rug. I knew Shu Shug shug Dru. There he is. Yeah,
all right. Mary is going to be so happy because
she was there when we were taking pictures by that
door for him. But uh so I have a question.
The hut that we see in the ring, it looks
(36:41):
like Gracus the hut from the from the comics is
like kind of got ripped apps. But my understanding is
someone was seeing the name of the actor who's from
the TV show The Bear. He does the voice of it,
and I think that's supposed to be rat of the Hut, right.
Uh Jaba's son that we originally saw with Ashley signs
(37:02):
Ahsoka anakin right and they save the hut in the
Clone Wars move Is that the character is that that.
Speaker 1 (37:10):
Well, I don't know if that's supposed to be him
or not. It is very well could be. We won't
know until we get either more details from about a
more detailed trailer or or something like that. But Jeremy
ellen White supposedly joined the cast as the voice of
(37:30):
Jaba's son Roda the huts.
Speaker 2 (37:33):
There we go.
Speaker 1 (37:34):
It got his first introduction, as you said in Clone.
Speaker 2 (37:36):
Wars, remember his nickname. Remember what Ashley called him? The
stinky stinky stinky stinky Stinky's much bigger now and ripped.
Speaker 1 (37:47):
Oh my gosh, if they don't have Rosario Dawson in
this as ah Soka and Rooda and Ahsoka cross path
and she doesn't call him Steam, he say something along
the lines of stinky you grew up, I will it
will be a huge missed opportunity.
Speaker 2 (38:10):
Well, it's a it's a it's a I don't know
if it's a deep cut, but it is. I guess
for us, I mean for maybe for a lot of fans.
But we know it though, because he started with that
back in a way, you know. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
so it.
Speaker 1 (38:23):
Would be it'd be fun, it would be great.
Speaker 2 (38:26):
So it's not confirmed that it's it's a Rota or
Rota or Stinky, but we believe it is. We believe that's.
Speaker 1 (38:32):
Yeah, yeah, I mean supposedly that's the The story is
that he's playing He has signed on to play Roda
the Hut. That's the story that was released. But as
for whether or not the hut we see in the
trailer is Roda, we don't know. That's it, okay, because
(38:54):
if you look at the poster, there are two huts
in that poster.
Speaker 2 (38:58):
Now, are those the twins from season?
Speaker 1 (39:01):
That's what I was thinking they were. Yeah, they were
twins from from.
Speaker 2 (39:04):
Both seasons, maybe but maybe not season. There was Boo
book a bafet right from the twins. Yeah, well, like
you said, we'll find out more who they are and
all that. Speaking of the Galactic Star Cruiser, I got
to let you know this. Andrew Harrison, who was on
(39:26):
that trip with us, he and his wife were on it.
He sent an article from I think it's Well Disney
w d W News or something, but it showed a
screen capture of that first clip of I think you
see Mando's foot walking in water, and and and and
some Disney fan or Star Wars saying flipped it over
(39:48):
so you can see it upside up and you see
the Galactic star Cruiser in the picture. Yeah, yeah, so
it's it's so it made a lot of us happy
that it quick reference to the Galactic star Cruiser and
blink and you miss it. But someone that has did
(40:11):
the shot and flipped it and I was looking at
you see it. Did you find the article?
Speaker 1 (40:15):
I'm looking for it now?
Speaker 2 (40:16):
Yeah? The Glactic Yeah, so, yes, the Galactic star Cruiser
is a reference at the very beginning.
Speaker 1 (40:24):
Of it about time.
Speaker 2 (40:27):
Yeah, it's kind of cool. You know. I don't know
that they'll say anything else, but it's kind of like,
you know, it's an ad to ride ride it throughout
the galaxy. You know.
Speaker 1 (40:36):
Well, I mean you have to put in a nod
for something like that, because it's a I mean, it
is a I mean as unse mean it was a
when it comes to Disney projects, it there's no Yeah,
I want to get a lot of slack for this.
(40:57):
I'm sorry. It failed. It failed miserably, and I hate
to say that because I never had the opportunity to
do it, so I don't know what the experience was like.
And from everything you have told me, Mary, and I've
talked to Dan, they were at CWK, and everybody that's
been on it, Terry and everybody, it was the most
(41:18):
incredible experience ever. At the same time, though yes, we
we know it, it definitely did not It obviously did
not last. And right now it's being converted into imagineering offices.
Speaker 2 (41:38):
Breaking. It's heart breaking. It's heartbreaking, like no, but I
just thought it was cool that it was referenced. That
was pretty neat, real quick little nod to it there in.
Speaker 1 (41:49):
The uh yeah and the yeah you're you're right, and
it's a great reference. And the reason I was going
where I was going is even though it was the
same amount I tried to get out getting all tongue
typed because I knew I was going to hear it
is in spite of being just a colossal failure, there's
(42:11):
still respected enough to give nods to it, and and
to me, that is definitely that's that's respect, you know,
because there are a lot of fans out there who
had the opportunity to go to galaxies at or galaxies uh,
the Galactic Star Cruiser and experience it and have a
(42:33):
passion for it. And that's a nice nod to them.
It's it's it's a nice thank you to them for
for being there and supporting it the way that. So,
I just I love the fact that they included that
in because it's a no, it's it's acknowledging something that
(42:53):
you know came before, may not have done. Well, you know,
we're not.
Speaker 2 (42:58):
We're not.
Speaker 1 (42:59):
We're not hiding it away like George did the Christmas
special holiday special, so which we need to do that
this year. Dude, we need to do that this year.
I know we said we were going to do it
last year, but then all heck broke loose in my life.
Speaker 2 (43:17):
But we need to do that.
Speaker 1 (43:18):
We need to do our for the holiday. We need
to do this year. We need to because I have
not the reason I'm bringing it up and if y'all
had didn't listen earlier last year I mentioned doing this,
I have not seen that holiday special, the original one
that came out. So we talked about doing a special
(43:39):
for the holidays special episode where we would release our
reactions and mainly my first reactions to what George was
embarrassed to admit ever existed.
Speaker 2 (43:51):
Yeah, and and you know what we can do too,
is is I actually bought the DVD of A Disturbance
in the Forest, the documentary on it, which is actually
more enjoyable than the than the Holidays. But the Holidays
it's rough, it's rough to watch. They're cringing, and it's
so good to see the backstories and how they did it.
But A Disturbance in the Forest, I think that came
(44:13):
out last year, almost a year ago, like last November
December or you know, around the time that people usually
talk about life day and stuff like that. But it's
a it's a really good little DVD, and so we
can kind of I can throw stuff in on that too.
Speaker 6 (44:32):
And some of the commentary, so yeah, so we can
look at it. It's coming down, Yeah, so something to
come down the road, that's right, that's right. Spoilers. Yeah,
but let's you know, we take a get start wrapping
things up here. I mean, this trailer was just mhm.
(44:58):
It to me, it was icing on a cake from
a I mean, I don't know if I loved it
so much just because off the weekend we came off
of when it was released, or if I just love
it because it's you know, but it was. It hit
home for me and it hyped me up even more
for this movie than I already was, and I'm excited.
(45:20):
I'm really excited for what we have coming up in
May of May twenty second, twenty and twenty six, we
will definitely be talking more about this And of course
I would be be a miss if I did not
(45:42):
send a shout out to Lugwig Gorrison and his fantastic
music through the trailer as well. He is returning to
score the movie, as he's done all the other seasons,
so it's nice to hear his his touch still continue
again on this story.
Speaker 2 (46:02):
Great, well said, Well said, so Chris.
Speaker 1 (46:06):
Technically those were my final thoughts, David, how about you
final thoughts about uh?
Speaker 2 (46:13):
Well, I like how you said it. You know, this
came after an incredible weekend with you and and the
Rebels crew, and it just I just thought it was
such a cool thing to be hanging out with Steve
the day before and then the next day here he
is on the movie. You know, his character, and of
course seeing him in action, and I hope to hear
a lot of Steve Bloom see a lot of seb
(46:34):
in this. But I'm with you. I I was already
excited for this. This it's perfect. It's great timing caps
off icing on the cake, like you said, after a
wonderful weekend here at ocala comic con, and and you know,
hopefully we'll be seeing maybe what maybe one more trailer
maybe in the spring, maybe I don't know, maybe a
(46:56):
few more, I don't know, maybe two more.
Speaker 1 (46:58):
I would hope. So i'd hope we get couple more
coming up because I can see coming out in May.
You know, I can almost see them. What station is
super Bowl on this year?
Speaker 2 (47:15):
I don't know. Yeah, I'm not sure. I'd have to look,
but yeah, I could see him in a big super
Bowl commercial, right that?
Speaker 1 (47:21):
Or or a playoff push where they could do that. Yeah,
it's definitely something I can see them doing and seeing
where it falls into the mix there per se. But
it'll be it'll be fun. Yeah, that will definitely be fun.
(47:43):
So I got a lot of excitement, excitement, So yeah,
I do expect another trailer either during the NFL playoffs
or the super Bowl time frame there. Yeah, then probably
another one probably, Yeah, April. Yeah, maybe during the final
(48:04):
four oh yeah, March Madness, March Madness Band and the
thing comes out in May.
Speaker 2 (48:10):
Yeah, yeah, there you go.
Speaker 1 (48:12):
That's that's kind of what I would expect. And then
just a bunch of small thirty second TV spots, you know,
hyping it up in the weeks to come leading up
to it. Yeah, that's tends to be Disney's uh in
the past. That tends to have been lucasfilms go to
(48:34):
for releases like that, is to have those in five days, yeah,
in four days tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (48:45):
Yeah, that is. Yeah, I think it's to be expected,
but I'm looking forward to it.
Speaker 1 (48:50):
So I think it'll be It's going to be exciting,
and of course we are going to be with y'all,
with Sharon anything that happens with the Mandaloriin and Grogu
as we build up to its release May twenty second,
twenty two, it's going to be great. I'm looking forward
to it. So so that, of course we will go
(49:11):
ahead and wrap things up. Of course, we do want
to hear from you. What are your what were your
thoughts on the Mandalorin and Grogu trailer. You can send
it in and let us know what we think there
or what you think there. We'd love to hear from you.
You can do that many different ways. Of course, you
can us up on any of our socials. We of
(49:32):
course are on Facebook and x at SW Reactions, Pod, Instagram,
Blue sky Pinterest, TikTok, threads, and YouTube at SW Reactions.
You can email us at SW Reactions at Gmail, Caravas,
(49:53):
SW Reactions at gmail dot com, or of course leave
us a voicemail at Cara bas speak Pipe dot com,
slash Star Wars Reactions.
Speaker 2 (50:07):
There we go. There it is. We had some care baths.
We gotta have some. You gotta have some. Does talk
about I tell you, I tell you that was.
Speaker 1 (50:23):
I'll I'll never get over that moment in that picture.
That will that will live with me forever. Yea, Choppa sucks.
Speaker 2 (50:33):
I can't say that.
Speaker 1 (50:38):
I love him, but he's a wall criminole. That's why
I love him.
Speaker 2 (50:44):
It was.
Speaker 1 (50:47):
Steve, I love you well.
Speaker 2 (50:50):
And then when you and I are walking away, he
looks at you. I mean, he says in Zeb's voice,
don't don't eat any bad Melee runs. Yes, Yes, he
was awesome, man, he was awesome.
Speaker 1 (51:03):
He was he was so good so good. Of course, David,
if somebody wants to talk Star Wars with you, how
would they go about doing that?
Speaker 2 (51:13):
Well, I think Twitter X, it's always been the same
at David Underscore matters and then Instagram at David Matters
or they just look my name up. I have not
done a lot on that. I should be doing more.
But I think Aaron mentioned last week or before, I'm
just busy with a daughter who's a senior, and there's
(51:35):
a lot of stuff. And at least tonight I was
really happy I had the flexibility to record of Aaron.
And we're trying to and like I said, Aaron is
such a good sport and tries to record, you know,
each week. We're trying. We're doing our best. We are married,
we have two kids each, and it's been it's a
(51:56):
busy time in our lives and so but you know,
we've always said family first, and Aaron backs me up
on that. I back Aaron up on that, and and
so just stick with us, you know. And but yeah,
so on Twitter X and Instagram and or any of
the you know, show socials, and yeah, I'm hoping that
Aaron and I can really be more consistent here again,
(52:20):
after a really you know, difficult span at the beginning
of twenty twenty five here, but Aaron's come out the
other end, and like we said before, we really needed
that weekend at Okalla Comic Con. It really worked on good.
So but yeah, that's where you can find me and
we'll keep recording and having fun.
Speaker 1 (52:39):
Absolutely absolutely, because you got it right, I'm going to
mess it up. You can still find me. I will
be on the opposite end of all of the show socials.
It's a tongue twister. Say that five five real fast. Yeah,
or of course you can always hit me up on
my personal ex or Instagram. At at t A Harris twelve,
(53:01):
ten seventy nine, I almost said sw reactions. I'll be
there too, y'all. Yeah, it's it's crazy, it's crazy ya. Also, well, David,
are you ready?
Speaker 2 (53:19):
Yeah? Well I am. Actually after having last week off,
I was groaning through the the interwebs at last week's joke,
But I'm ready for this week's Star Wars joke of
the week.
Speaker 1 (53:33):
So I'm glad you're ready because I'm trying to figure
out which one I've been debating all afternoon, which one
of these I want to do?
Speaker 2 (53:42):
Okay, I got two.
Speaker 1 (53:44):
Both of them remainder Lorian related. Okay, and I'm not
sure which one I want to do. Okay, I will
do this one. It's but the other one is so
good too. Either way, you're going to groan and reach
through the computer and slap me. You know what, Let's
(54:08):
do this one and I'll do the next one. I'll
do the other one next week. Uh and that's just
that's hell, it will go.
Speaker 2 (54:16):
So here we go.
Speaker 1 (54:18):
What do you call a dog owned by the Mandalorian?
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (54:25):
What do you call a dog owned by the Mandalorian?
Speaker 1 (54:29):
Boba pet?
Speaker 2 (54:31):
Oh? My, so bad, dude. You guys should with himself.
Oh my gosh, that is just I'm sorry.
Speaker 1 (54:49):
But what's what's sad is Honsholo is like Bubba peta pet?
Speaker 2 (54:55):
Where? Yes, exactly, my go lord, well, I can't wait
for next week.
Speaker 6 (55:07):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (55:08):
Well you'll have to just thrive on the goodness of
the Boba pet.
Speaker 2 (55:13):
That was so all right?
Speaker 1 (55:16):
Well with that, everybody, David, my friend, I love it.
I love doing this with you. Thank you so much
for for for uh for for sharing the mic with me.
Speaker 2 (55:29):
It's fun. Fun of this is fun to cover Mandalorian
Gurgu trailer in the movie post. That's fun. It's just fun.
It is.
Speaker 1 (55:36):
It's just simple, fun, simple joy, the little things in
life that you love. So awesome, awesome time tonight. Thank
you so much, David, Thank you everybody for listening in.
