Wars Reactions.

This is the way to podcast.

Speaker 3 (00:08):
This has been an awaken Love your Father.

Speaker 4 (00:11):
In nineteen seventy seven, George Lucas formed a legacy inspired
by mynology.

Speaker 1 (00:18):
His saga has become a passion for many. His legend
has become our stories, one of resistance.

Speaker 3 (00:29):
We are.

Speaker 4 (00:33):
Rebellion and redemption.

Speaker 2 (00:37):
I am je father.

Speaker 4 (00:39):
This is Star Wars Reactions. Remember we'll do with you always.

Speaker 3 (00:47):
Wello everybody, and welcome to Star Wars Reactions. Welcome to
another exciting episode as we continue journeying through the Star
Wars saga. It's going to be a great episode. Let's
get some introductions out of the way. My name is

(01:08):
Aaron Harrison. Joining me is my friend, my co host,
the the Mando to my Grogu. And there is that
big of a height difference. The David Martyrs, David Brother.
What's the well?

Speaker 2 (01:25):
I think we're we are up and we are batting.
It's October baseball playoffs. Shout out Tom Gross for the
Cubs and the Tigers still alive. But yeah, I'm here
to react, Ready to react. That's for Greg McLoughlin and ye,
looking forward to covering what we're covering. It's a year later,

(01:47):
but it's it's it's pertinent, it's something to be covered
because the sequel is out to this particular show, so
so it's a good time.

Speaker 3 (01:59):
To do it.

Speaker 2 (01:59):
But looking forward to recording with you, buddy, and yeah,
ready to.

Speaker 3 (02:03):
React absolutely, and David kind of handed around at what
we're doing tonight. We are sitting down and looking at
the four parts of the Lego Star Wars Rebuild the
Galaxy series. This is the first parts that were released

(02:23):
last year in twenty twenty four. Specifically, they were released
September thirteenth, twenty twenty four, so about almost jeez, almost
thirteen months ago it came out, and we wanted to
at least we hadn't had a chance because of everything

(02:45):
that's happened in the last thirteen months to get to
this particular series. But now the sequel is out Rebuild
the Galaxy Pieces of the Past, and we want to
talk about that because there were some great stuff in
there too, and there's some great stuff in this too,
so we wanted to sit down and at least share
our reactions to the original Rebuild the Galaxy before we

(03:06):
hit you know, the sequel makes sense. So let that
being said, David, you ready to jump into it? I'm readybody,
all right, this is it. Don't get scared now here
we go. So rebuild the Galaxy Lego Star Wars series.
Like I said September thirteenth, twenty twenty four, this is

(03:31):
one of those animated series that kind of falls outside
of Cannon. It's I love the fact that they do
go through and they do all this work with Cannon
between the movies and the TV shows and stuff, but
then they have these side quests with these Lego Star

(03:52):
Wars where they can sit there and almost literally make
fun of what they're doing. And they did it with
They do it with all the Lego Star Wars. Deneas
and Ferb did it right after Disney took over to
with their little side side show Star Wars themed episode.

(04:14):
But what's great about this particular UH series to rebuild
the Galaxy series is this is essentially what Marvel would
would have called a what if series? So what if?
What if? Everything just got shook up and everything changed?

(04:36):
And that's what made this this series so much fun.
So let's no cell phone, I am not talking to series,
so stop lighting up and trying to talk to me.
Apparently series and series sound alike. So AnyWho, Cara asked,

(04:58):
So let's go ahead and tee this up and go
into our initial reactions to the Rebuild the Galaxy series,
especially this first one with the first four parts. What
were your thoughts, David, don't talk to me about brother,
tell me what you thought about this?

Speaker 2 (05:15):
Well, I think you did tee it up really nice
that it's outside of Cannon and they can just have
a lot of fun. And you know, you and I've
covered a lot of Star Wars and fans can get
really focused on Cannon, and you and I talk about it,
what's in Canon, what's out of Cannon, and novels and
all that kind of stuff and TV shows and what

(05:37):
fits and what doesn't fit. But this is just fun
because there's no pressure. You just watch it, you enjoy it.
I think you know. I was just telling you before
we hit the record button that I watched this last year,
but like you mentioned at the top of the show,
there's just so much other stuff going on weatherwise and
your home and just everything that I don't know that

(05:58):
I really took it in so watching it a second time,
and and and look, when you watch these things the
second and third time, you pick up on a lot
of little fun things, and that that's really cool too.
Watch it several times. Oh I missed that first time,
I missed it the second time. Oh I caught it
the third time. And so going back and prepping for this,

(06:18):
it was just fun to watch these four episodes again.
It's really fun. It's quick, a lot of Easter eggs,
and really I was thinking about it. You know, it's
not just Easter eggs, but like homages to a lot
of homages too, to everything from the you know, uh

(06:39):
TV shows on Disney Plus right to the movies all
all the all of them, all the prequels, prequels, original
and sequels. They've got it in there. And so you know,
there's another point I was going to make too, that
you know, this idea of what would happen if you know,
the Galaxy was taken apart and put back together, it's

(07:00):
you know, you want to talk about a wonderful avenue
to show kids this and say, hey, you don't have
to make the X raying exactly the way it is.
You don't have to make the tie Fighter exactly the
way it is on the box. Create different things, right,
have ewog Bounty hunters and create cool why wings with
their stuff, And I think that's a wonderful thing too.

(07:22):
It's just the creativity that I enjoy watching. But I
hope that when kids watch this it really sparks their
imagination and creativity.

Speaker 3 (07:31):
You know.

Speaker 2 (07:32):
So those are just a few of my initial reactions.

Speaker 3 (07:37):
Very good, very good. Yeah, you know, like I said,
you know with with for me with these are going
to be my initial reactions. Now. You know, the like
I said earlier this what's so and you hit the
nail on the head, David, is the fact that they
can sit down it's out of cannon. They can have
so much fun, uh, is really what makes us so enjoyable.

(07:59):
We have so many pieces of the saga coming in
from all different worlds. It's getting thrown in. It literally
is like a kid playing in their room and they
got all these lego sets from all different parts of
the saga. So well they do they throw it all together.
You have jar Jar running around with Luke Skywalker, you
have you have Grito and Lea running around. You have

(08:25):
Ray being a paddawant to I mean, you got Jedi Bob.
I mean, these are all pieces and things that came
straight out of Star Wars past. And I love the
fact that they are able to do that. And that's
what makes this series so much fun, is it takes

(08:47):
everything and just shakes it up, and I'm very glad
that we got to see it. So the way we're
doing it, of course, this series has four parts. Okay,
part one, Part two, Part three, Part four, and we
could jump into and we could jump into this and

(09:07):
go and I mean each part's about twenty to twenty
three minutes, so it's a good, good chunk of time,
and it's a year old. So we didn't want to,
you know, spend a lot of time breaking in, breaking
in and breaking down because a lot of people have
already done that. But David came up with the idea

(09:29):
and I absolutely love how he did it, is breaking
in and going part by part and discussing what we
liked from the particular episode instead of breaking down and
digging in because we were talking beforehand, you know, with
all the Easter eggs and stuff crammed into each little episode,
we could spend an hour just discussing Easter eggs and

(09:49):
not touch the story, not touch the plot because there
is so much crammed into these episodes. I mean it's
literally served up like a Dave Filoni special because everybody
knows how much stuff Dave likes to cram into to
a thirty minute episode. So they obviously learned from the master.

(10:11):
So we're going to break this down. We'll go start
with part one, and we'll go back and forth and
discuss our favorite themes about each particular episode and go
from there. So let's start with part one. Of course,
this is the first part where we are introduced to
all the characters in play in this series, and we

(10:36):
have some new players that we see, of course, a
lot of old characters from Star Wars that are all
mixed in. But then we get our new characters that
are coming out of the series. They're coming out specifically
for this series. We have of course Sig Griebling, his

(10:58):
brother Dev greeb Ling. We have Yesi Skalah. Then of
course we have eventually we meet Jedi Bob which and
then of course we have a whole bunch of other
characters that come in through out a Servo. We have
Android Servo, which is which is a Gonk droid, which

(11:21):
was a lot of fun as well. So and we
have a lot of fun things that they go on adventure.
They're nerve heurters. Then of course things he pulls. He
pulls a brick out of a wall and a Jedi
temple and the whole world goes chaos, and of course
everything gets rebuilt. Dev becomes doth Dev and Uh and

(11:48):
the Jedi Bob comes in and it's so then an
adventure to get the world put back the way it
was before. So David pass off to you for the
first part here. What did you like about the first
part and what were some of the things that you
that that really called out to you in that episode.

Speaker 2 (12:11):
Yeah, No, I do like sig voice by Gad and
Mattterazo right from Stranger Things Fame, just starting off with
all those cool stories you know from the Star Wars universe.
I always enjoy that by a fire a Lego fire
that was really cute. And but I really do you know,

(12:32):
this is one part where for me, instead of like
an homage or a an easter egg, I do really
like how they set up the story of the galaxy
being rebuilt. Because of this cornerstone piece being removed from
that Jedi temple on Vanessa Vanessa, and I thought that

(12:53):
was a lot of fun and how they just set
the stage for the next three parts. But also, you know,
there's a really big theme in this whole first part
of of Sig refusing the call to adventure. In fact,
it's his brother Dev who's they want encouraging it, and

(13:14):
even the Esi skol is wanting to do it too.
But that's that's Star Wars at its core, that's Joseph
Campbell at its core.

Speaker 3 (13:22):
Yeah, very much so. And it definitely, uh, you definitely
hit a lot of the points I like, is it
it's it's an it's a great introduction to the characters
that we have, uh with Yes and and Dev and
of course Sig and and Sigg is that Sigg is
that reluctant hero that we're used to seeing in these stories.

(13:45):
And I'm glad you set that up because we see
him go from somebody who is just like content with
his everyday life to being the one that has to
get up and take action for everything going on. So
that's right, very good, very good. And of course there
are a lot of easter inches throughout this particular part

(14:08):
as well. We see a lot of things going on.
We see some X wings fly by early in the episode,
we get the there, uh, the Sig and Dev are
nerve heurters. They weren't that scruffy looking, but they were
nerve heurters. Then uh, then, of course, once the changes

(14:33):
occur to the galaxy because the stone has been removed
has been removed, everything goes crazy and we have of
course Dev and then at that point is the Sith
Lord who has conquered the galaxy and is running everything.
And of course he has his uh army of Clone troopers,

(14:55):
which are basically an army of Akbar troopers because all
the clones are of Admiral Lackbar. And there's that great
scene where they all take off their helmets and they're
all going, it's a trap. It's trap. It's trap. It's
a trap. It's trap. Oh gosh, it is great. And
there there are other things in there that that are fun.

(15:18):
I think there's even a brief mention of hey, the
force is awakening that uh what were some of the
the the East rags jumped out for you.

Speaker 2 (15:28):
David, Well, yeah, I mean, you know, there's there's you know,
there's a there's some deep cuts, you know, like you said,
that's when Dev says, sig the Force is awakening. I'm like, oh,
I see what you did there, like you said. And
but one in particular, I don't know if you noticed it,

(15:50):
but there was a I think I'm trying to remember
this picture came out on social media when they were
making either The Force Awakens or The Last Jedi. But
I think it's you see Mark Hamill like getting a
piggyback ride from Daz Ridley.

Speaker 3 (16:10):
Yes, right.

Speaker 2 (16:11):
I don't know if it's outside Pinewood Studios or somewhere
there in England, you know, and all the big you know,
all the big you know, l Street, all those studios.
But but at the very beginning, when Sega's kind of
telling the Star Wars stories, all the adventures, you see
a really quick clip of the ray Lego and Luke Lego.

(16:34):
He's doing a piggyback ride. And I thought all that
that was. That was quick, And I don't know if
people picked up on that, but I just, you know,
you and I go through all that stuff in the
social media, and so I immediately not I thought that
was a pretty deep cut. Now, I think a lot
of kids might not recognize what that was, but that's
that's one that I thought was like, Oh, that's that's

(16:55):
pretty cool, you know how they did that. How about
how about you any any Easter eggs that you liked
in particular?

Speaker 3 (17:03):
Well, there were, I mean we we of course went
into a few of them with the mention of the
force awakens not I thought that was great. I think
for me, the most one I had was the was
the fact that they were nerve hurters. Yes, and I
thought that was just absolutely And I'm sorry, I don't
know if you could hear the airplane flying over my

(17:25):
house right now, my wall, my walls are shaking. Id
of no clue why it's flying that low. We're just
a couple of miles from the airport here in lake
in Lakeland, so Amazon, Amazon flies over all the time,
but never like that because there's Amazon Hub here. But anyway,

(17:47):
I'll topic, but there, of course make a lot of
different little nods to like you mentioned. Uh. I think
there was a mention of thrown in this one, and
of course the nerve the nerfs, yes, seeing the force awakens.
It was a lot a lot of fun things there.
But between the acbar clones and and and the nerve

(18:10):
I was, I was, I was happy, it was. It
was a lot of fun. I was cracking up there,
especially when the All Star when it's trapped, strapped strap.

Speaker 2 (18:20):
Yeah, it's it's really cool. And and it is interesting
that I think Jedi Bob says it that because they
were inside the temple, sig Jedi Bob and and uh
what's the gong droid?

Speaker 3 (18:39):
Oh servo? I like, so.

Speaker 2 (18:46):
They don't change. Uh. So that I thought that was
a neat little little piece of the story that was
was pretty cool. And I do like that there is
that Jedi temple on Finessa and kind of the adventures
right around the corner, and when you least suspect it. Uh,

(19:07):
but yeah, and there's there's there's a lot of stuff there.
It's it's uh, it's a good first start establishes the
whole the whole story, and and yeah, a lot a
lot of good stuff. And then there's you know, probably
stuff you and I aren't even picking up on that
people are screaming at their phones right now, or what

(19:28):
about this Easter egg and this one and this one?
And of course if I go back and watch them like,
oh my gosh, I didn't even see that.

Speaker 3 (19:34):
Well, yeah, I mean, and that's what's one thing that's
great about these episodes is, like I said, they're so
caked full of of these nods and Easter eggs that
you're never going to catch them all, uh two in
one episode. Uh So it's one of those things that

(19:54):
you really multiple viewings will help you catch more. But honestly,
I don't know if there's probably stuff just so secluded
in there unless you are watching, unless you are unless
you created it, you probably won't catch it all, right, right,
which I mean, that's just awesome, which is a nod

(20:17):
truly to the writers and the directors, which you know,
I didn't mention them at the beginning of the episode.
All these episodes were written and directed by the same people.
Chris Buckley that was the director, and of course the
writers were Dan Hernandez and Benji Samitz for all four
parts of the season, So that's really a credit to

(20:42):
them with the knowledge that they had to squeeze all
these little pieces in. So yeah, well let's go ahead
and move on to part two. Part two was a
fun continuation, and all these episodes kind of flow into
each other, which is great too and can tell a
continuous story.

Speaker 2 (21:03):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (21:04):
This episode, of course, Dev is of course now the
Sith Lord, as we said, Sig must Sig is trying
to get away from Finessa, the planet, which is one
of a new planet Star Wars. We have Finessa. Help
comes from Jedi Bob, a forest builder who knows the

(21:24):
Cornerstone's secrets. Uh, they end up escaping and uh it's
just a wacky adventure there literally. So so let's let's
jump into your thoughts David on part two.

Speaker 2 (21:41):
Well, yeah, like you said, continues the whole story. You
quickly see that Darth Dev is basically invaders castle, which
is I guess on Finessa now I think right, because
his imperial troops are there at the end of the
lava flowing, there's you know, immediate reference to that, and

(22:03):
of course Rogue one and seeing Vader's castle there, and
of course I think of Charles Soul's brilliant Vader run.

Speaker 3 (22:12):
That he did.

Speaker 2 (22:14):
So there's that I really like. Again the real course
Star Wars elements underneath, like like Sig starts his training
in that ship, right, just like Luke starts his training
with Obi Wan on the falcon. You know, I thought,
that's really cool. I'm going back through. I told you

(22:37):
I'm doing a I'm really trying to get caught up
with Pot of Rebellion because you know, we just saw
you know, the actors and actresses from from Star Wars
Rebels here at calacamac count and you know, they were
all promoting it, and I knew you were watching it
or listening to it, forgive me, and and I've been
meaning to get into it, but I've really jumped into it.

(22:59):
And it was that actually kind of fortuitis because I
was just watching the episode. I think it's rise the
Old Masters were you know, uh, Ezra is starting to
do his Jedi training. He's doing a handstand on top
of the ghosts way up in the clouds of lo Falls.
Just beautiful, beautiful imagery. And and you see Canaan and

(23:23):
his struggle, you know, with not feeling he's good enough
to train Ezra, you know, and he's like, you know,
dog Luminar and Dooley will do such a better job.
And here, you know, I was kind of flipping back
and forth this weekend between Rebels episodes and watching all
four of these and Bam. Immediately you see Jedi Bob

(23:44):
reluctant to train Sig, just like Canaan is reluctant to
train Ezra. And I thought that was really cool, just
kind of for tuitous. I don't know, I could keep
going on. I was gonna up and let you throw
some in and we can keep going back and forth.

Speaker 3 (24:03):
No, I like what you're saying, because that's that's that's
a great comparison, especially the Rebels, which I love, And
it was definitely a great comparison. I thought it was great.
One of the things I liked is how especially we start,
we see it more in this episode and it develops

(24:24):
in the next in the next couple. In the remaining
two episodes, is we see how the universe has changed
because of what the Sike did removing the cornerstone. You know,
those who were good are now bad and vice versa.
Of course, Darth dev right at the beginning of this episode,

(24:47):
we are introduced to his Padawan's his padawan who is
you know, Ray, Darth Ray. Yeah, of course we see
Darth Ray in Rise of sky Walker. So that makes
it so we're getting those pieces pulled together, and that

(25:07):
was a fun, fun thing to see. We see her
in action and everything, chasing down. She wants to prove herself. Uh,
she really wants to really wants to uh take apart.
The are heroes in this, but it's it's really fun
to see. Then of course we get call they call

(25:28):
out Bounty Hunters to chase them down after they escape,
and of course we get a E walk Bounty Hunters.

Speaker 2 (25:39):
Topic.

Speaker 3 (25:41):
He walk down and C three p O Yes, yes, evil,
C three p O evil C three po the evil
C three po we see again and rises Skywalker with
the red eyes, the whole whole stuff and all that's fun.
All of that's great, and it ultimately, you know, leads

(26:06):
to the what we see, and this was a Legos
that they actually released was the the Dark Dark Millennium Falcon.
The Dark Falcon is what they called it. It's just
basically an all black Millennium falcon. And the we find
out that the radar dish on top is actually a

(26:27):
death Stark cannon, which was pretty wicked. And as it lands,
we get a glimpse of a hole. Because they're in
an alternate galaxy, the rule of two does not apply,
so we have a whole army of Sith that come out,
Darth kit Fisto, Darth Nubbs, which if you don't know

(26:51):
who Nubs is, Nubs is from Oh my gosh, I
just blanked on it. The The Kids Show on this
and I Adventures. Yes, uh, Darth nub we have Uh.
Of course, Darth ray is there, helped me out on.

Speaker 2 (27:09):
The Yeah, Darth Tico.

Speaker 3 (27:12):
Yes, Dark Rose Tico. Oh my gosh, Darth Rostko. That
one that that to me was was was a stretch.
I don't think I don't think Rosica ever had a
dark bone in her body there, So that that was.
That was a fun one, but not as fun as
the last one. As he comes walking down the thing

(27:35):
in knights is red Saber and you hear me sad
gna hurt you.

Speaker 2 (27:44):
Now. That is not an homage or an Easter egg
to any of these Star Wars TV shows on Disney plus,
none of the movies, none of the comics, none of
the novels. But here's the creators giving a nod to

(28:06):
that famous rumor that was out there on the interwebs, right, buddy.

Speaker 3 (28:11):
Yep, that's right. That was a nod to the rumors
that the real Sith Lord was actually jar Jar binks
pulling the strings behind the scenes, not really Palpatine. And
I thought that, you know, that was one of those
those rumors that you always hear and you're always like,
get a good laugh off of, and then you're like, hey, yeah,

(28:31):
right yeah. But then all of a sudden, boom, there
it is. You see it in this show. It's great
and and you know, when it was all said done,
by the time all four parts were over, I'm like,
I could I could dig me some uh dark jar Jar, Yeah,

(28:53):
I could, I could, I could, I could see some
more of dark Darth jar Jar. Bring it on, bring
it on well, and.

Speaker 2 (29:00):
I'm my best had a fun time with it. And uh,
you know, I was just thinking about Das Davy's over
in in in the UK, and I was thinking about
his son, and you know, we've got a text thread
with him and Mary and Greg McLoughlin and we saw
a picture and I and I was not teasing, but

(29:24):
I pointed out to Daz, I'm like, wait, I see
a nubbs in that picture with your son. And I'm like,
that's some good parenting right there. That's that's some good stuff.
And so what I was just thinking about this Aaron.
I was wondering if like Daz watches that with his
son and his son's like, wait a minute, Dad, what

(29:44):
what's wrong with Nubs? What's wrong with Nobs? Why's he
got red eyes? Why is he mean? I was thinking
about that, for them to have Nubs be asif uh
is uh? I'm like, well man that some of you
your kids might might not like that, be like I'm mad,
you know, I don't want nubs to be mean, and

(30:05):
so anyways, I just had to mentioned dads and his
son as well.

Speaker 3 (30:10):
So oh absolutely, it definitely, you know, coming from a
Disney Junior Kids show, it kind of you're exactly right,
kind of makes you make things that make you go.

Speaker 2 (30:24):
I can see Dad's having to explain that, Dad, why
is why is Nubs mean?

Speaker 3 (30:29):
Now?

Speaker 2 (30:29):
And You're like, oh my gosh, how do I explain?

Speaker 3 (30:32):
He didn't get his coffee?

Speaker 2 (30:34):
Oh? There you go, Nubs didn't get his coffee.

Speaker 3 (30:37):
And Nubs didn't get his coffee someone took his butterfinger
or better yet, he's hungry. Somebody get the kid a snicker.

Speaker 2 (30:47):
There you go, Dad, you're wrong.

Speaker 3 (30:49):
There you go. Oh yeah, get out there, young kids.
There you go. You got your explanations. You're good to go.
Just you know, next thing you know, you're walking in
a room. Your kids will be trying to jam us
snicker down. There's stuffed animals. Be good, be good, Cara bas.

Speaker 2 (31:09):
A, good carabas there.

Speaker 3 (31:11):
Oh sweet lord, oh perfect, but fantastic. Uh anything else
from part two?

Speaker 2 (31:19):
You want to just one one little deep cut and
it's an easter egg. When they're at the cantina, right,
I mean.

Speaker 3 (31:30):
Most iley Marina, Cantina.

Speaker 2 (31:35):
Thank you, thank you. Behind the bar, I mean, at
first you do see Wooer or whatever, Wooler, whatever his
name is. I can see the guy. But then right
when they're about ready to leave, you see an IG
eighty eight I G eleven droid and ig droid behind
the bar. And if people don't remember that, you know,

(31:57):
in the original Star Wars you see that behind there
when Luke and you know, and Obi Wana there with
Han and Chewie meeting them. Well then of course in
what nineteen eighty we see an ig droid with and
you're like, wait a minute, that head was I guess
they just kept that stuff, brought it back to England,

(32:20):
right and said, oh, let's put this on top of
a droid, you know, but it was it was almost
like the like the stuff would come down from the
through the head, you know, and serve the the spirits
that are served there at the Most Isley canteena Most
Isley Marina Cantina. But I thought that was a pretty
deep cut right there. Did you probably caught that one seeing.

Speaker 3 (32:44):
That I did, I did, I did, And there there
was one more cut I wanted to mention too, because
we we this is the episode where we do beat
Luke Skywalker and he is not Jedi Knight, he is
not Jedi Master. He's master pod racer and he is

(33:07):
a quintessential beach bum pod racing guy. Yeah, Hawaiian shirt, sandals, shorts,
whole kit kaboodle, messy hair, which was fun to see,
which is a different Luke fun to see. But then
we also the way there, the pod racing and stuff

(33:29):
was was great. Tatooine has water on it, that's planets
all jacked up because of the quarterstone. But what really
got me what I thought was fun and it whether
it was a deep cut or not, I don't know
whether even they meant it, but when they were pod racing,
they ended up pod racing over water at one point,

(33:49):
and the only thing I was thinking of were the
races in Resistance.

Speaker 2 (33:55):
Oh nice, nice they are.

Speaker 3 (33:58):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, So when they were racing over the
water for a little bit, I thought that was great,
but it kind of reminded me of that. So so yeah,
there we.

Speaker 2 (34:09):
Go right now, Well, not only in this part, but
in the next two and three and four. Do you
notice what's wrong Luke's neck?

Speaker 3 (34:17):
Yes, the necklace that Padame had when she was buried,
that Anakin gave her that he were carved.

Speaker 2 (34:28):
So yes, japoor snippet and if I'm saying it right,
japour whatever that subtance is.

Speaker 3 (34:37):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (34:37):
But yeah, so another little little uh easter egg. I
mean it's pretty much out there and right there around
his neck. But again, I'm not sure if kids would
get that, but us adults do.

Speaker 3 (34:50):
Yes, absolutely, definitely definitely something that we get. So all right,
so moving on the part three, uh, part three, of course,
things take a right things trying, uh things take a
turn in this episode. While trying to set things right

(35:11):
in the galaxy, Sig makes some unexpected allies. Uh. He
goes out to try to find help, ends up deciding
that the Jedi can help them, but they need the Jedi.
And you like, if there's all these Sith in this
galaxy and definitely more, there's got to be more Jedi. Uh.
So they go and they find the Jedi Council, who

(35:34):
is living in a uh I just sand crawler with
exactly with at walker legs, and it's not fully functional.
You see it kind of stutter stepping as it goes.
Kind of reminded me of the Lost Commanders and Rebels

(35:58):
when they go to find Rex will and.

Speaker 2 (36:00):
And oh, oh gosh, why are you doing this too?

Speaker 3 (36:07):
I know he's the one I kept waiting to say, George,
and I knew that wasn't right, Gregor. But uh, they
end up going to meet the Jedi Council, of which
the Jedi Council includes, of course Yoda, and it includes

(36:29):
the character we meet in uh Rise of Skywalker, Channa
Jedi Jana uh. In this then, of course we get
a whole bunch of interesting Jedi, uh Jedi jab of
the Hut Jedi we get we get Jedi Palpatine and

(36:55):
Jedi Vader.

Speaker 2 (36:57):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (36:58):
Yeah, so of course we get uh. You see count
Dooku as just scan through you don't hear from him
in this episode, but you see him. Jedi Doku all right,
is in there. And it's interesting because they don't really
want to help. Yeah, I know, they take the Jedi

(37:21):
reluctancy to the extreme at this case and don't want
to help at all, but they uh, and it is
Vader who helps them, yeah, who convinces them that they
need to help. And things go a little on the
haywire side for them there as well, because things don't

(37:45):
go the way they wanted to.

Speaker 2 (37:48):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (37:49):
So so tell me, David, talk to me about part three.

Speaker 2 (37:54):
Yeah. You know, you do see Sig like literally on
a seeing stone like Grogu. You know, he's sitting there
in the middle of all them and trying to visualize stuff.
You know. I thought, you know, when he does go
into that trance, it's very much a Stranger Things, I thought.
When it's immediately all white and you see him, I

(38:15):
think of l from Stranger Things going into lupside down
and being in there and it's really quick, you know.
And then of course then he goes into the dig
of a cave, you know, and so very much a
callback to that. There's a whole bunch of there's a
lot of Easter eggs and homages and references in this one.

(38:37):
Do you want me to run through a few.

Speaker 3 (38:39):
Or yeah, go ahead, okay, because we get there. There's
a ton in this one, and there are a lot
of great ones too, because it sets up the finale
with the story in this heading into uh finding the
new Jedi, the newly the new Jedi Elder Temple. That's

(39:01):
what need to replace a cornerstone.

Speaker 2 (39:03):
Right, and he literally sees it, you know, that's kind
of like kind of the Dagaba Cave, you know, and
he can see down in there, you know, like you
were mentioning that, you know, here's Vader wanting them to help.
It's it really is the opposite, you know, with all
the Sith being Jedi masters now, but in this case,
you know, you talk about a real twist. It's you

(39:25):
hear Hans say, you know, Grito shot his shot first
and he you know, one laya over when they're landing
on getting down to Dagaba past the blockade. You hear
Han you know say it. You know, I've had softer
landings on Star Tours, and that just really took me

(39:47):
back to a number of different endings right when you're right,
Star Tours and and we'll do a little well I'll
stay off of that, so but no Star Tours. I
love that. Like you mentioned, it does set up where
there is a prison, uh small little prison, lego prison

(40:08):
right on this planet, and they've got the and or
orange and white prison outfits. You know, Terry King would
be proud. He had a great uh and or prison
outfit when we went on the galactic star cruiser. So
that was really fun. And uh, I mean the other
one that I saw was, you know, just really kind

(40:30):
of that homage again in each one of these I'm
pointing out stuff. A's a core of Star Wars is
dev trying to get Sig to join him, you know,
allah the Empire strikes back. So so there's a few
of the ones that you know, there's a lot, but
those are a few that I was stood out to me,
how about you?

Speaker 3 (40:50):
Well some of the ones that then, those are great ones.
Some of the ones that I enjoyed in this particular
episode was where of course, when they first meet the
council go in and there's the little lodge where all
you hear about in the movies was Anakin's not you know, yeah,
I grant you allow you to sit on the council,
but I don't allow you the rank of master. He's

(41:12):
not making him a master all he wants to be
a master. And then we have him sit You have
a Jedi Vader sitting on the council and Palpatine says,
Jedi or Jedivator's making his argument to help, and Palpatine's like,
I never should have elevated you from Patawan.

Speaker 2 (41:32):
Oh my gosh, that's a good one. That's one.

Speaker 3 (41:35):
And of course he just runs off and puts at
that point kind of like Anakin would have done, which
which was great.

Speaker 2 (41:42):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (41:43):
Then of course you have Luke when he first sees
Jedi Vader and he's like, huh, he looks familiar. Then,
of course, when when Leah arrives, Yeah, she walks up
to Luke and she's like, huh, you look familiar.

Speaker 2 (41:59):
Yeah, And then.

Speaker 3 (42:02):
It gets really interesting because you know they, uh, when
they're trying to get everything together at the end of
toward the end of this episode, they're like, where's where's Vader?
Leah and Luke And they're like, oh, yeah, I may
have accidentally told them some news about relations. He told

(42:23):
them that they were all related, which plays out in
the next In the next episode two, it's actually quite humorous.
But one one character that we I failed to failed
to mension earlier in this in the episode uh and
the I think it was the last episode, maybe the
episode before was mall Oh right right, mall is mall

(42:48):
Is Lando is like this the solo of Star Wars
Story Orlando and the Yellow with Cape all. It's it's Maldo.

Speaker 2 (43:01):
And Sam White, Sam Win. We're voicing it.

Speaker 3 (43:04):
Sam Went, We're voicing it. And it is just a
lot of fun things happening in this episode. Uh. We see,
of course, the the we find out there's a they
hint at a spy being in there. Oh yeah, there's
the the comment about uh uh Han and Leah aren't

(43:26):
together in this Leyah is with Greto right right, and
Han is jealous, you know, and uh, you like you
like when and when dev or not dev when SIGs like,
aren't you supposed to be with Leyah? She goes, oh,
I wanted to, but you know, Greno's shot is shot first.

Speaker 2 (43:47):
Right, that's right first.

Speaker 3 (43:55):
Just little things like that which which make this so
much more fun. You just sit there and it's like
the Leonardo DiCaprio meme where he's got his hang out.
He his finger pointing at it. But yeah, a lot there.
That's my thing with with that particular episode. So a

(44:17):
lot of fun there, a lot of fun. All right,
let's wrap things up with part four. Of course, this
is where it all comes to head. Uh, this is
the finale of the first Uh. I guess you call
it the first season of Rebuild the Galaxy. Uh. This,

(44:37):
of course the fate of the galaxy on the line,
singing his friends battle Darth dev A ka Darth Devastator
one last time to bring justice to the galaxy. So
this is where everything comes out. This is where it

(44:58):
all comes a head. We find out that things aren't
exactly what he expected. Uh, there is and we kind
of find this out as the whole mission has been
to put the cornerstone back where it belongs, to restore

(45:20):
the galaxy, and of course we find he finds out
at the end of the last episode that's not the case.
He can never restore his galaxy. And uh, of course
he runs off and joins dev because he just doesn't
know what to do at this point, and things go crazy.
So a lot of great things, a lot of exciting

(45:43):
things happen in this episode, so let's uh, let's discuss it.
What are your thoughts on the conclusion of Rebuild the Galaxy?

Speaker 2 (45:53):
Oh man, this is this is a lot of fun,
a ton of action. I think something that really stood
out to me. And of course we mentioned the Dark
Falcon and you know seeing yes e Skala fly in
really with the same kind of you know, sun kind

(46:13):
of like a star or sun shining behind it, and
she comes in and helps save the day, you know,
because they're they're in a bad way right All the
Rebels are getting destroyed by dark deav ship, which with
powered by the Cornerstone, can shoot out you know, death
star power blasts and all that kind of stuff. So

(46:37):
I thought that was really go again a big homage
to you know, episode four New Hope Again. You know,
these guys hit on everything, these writers that I love
the Cornerstone being pulled between Sag and Dev you know,
it's like the Lightsaber being pulled between Ray and kylo Ren,

(46:59):
you know, right in the in the in the last
Jedi and uh and so those that's really fun and
watching their battle. I you know, something we haven't mentioned
before we talk A big part of this story is,
you know, force builders sith breakers, and I really like
how Sig uses the forced building to put stuff in

(47:21):
the way of Darth Dev and he cuts through them
with his lightsaber and or he'll do stuff and run
on them, you know, say, because I like again that
creativity that that's say uses and so I really like
that that battle at the end on what what's the

(47:42):
name of dev Shift, It's it's supposed to be reminiscent
of what is it? What are the things in the
legal things that help you take apart the seator? There
we go, thank you, you know, and it's shaped like
the separator.

Speaker 3 (47:59):
It's literally a brick separator with a star destoryer built around.

Speaker 2 (48:03):
It, you know. Yeah. So those are just some of
the things, and then I'll leave the last part for last,
the very last scene. But but yeah, there's there's there's
so much going on in this There's so much.

Speaker 3 (48:21):
Oh there is and wh's And of course one of
the things that I thought was really cool with this
particular episode is we get back to the separator and
he's got the cornerstone, that has the cornerstone, and he
has his brother. He has Sig with him and they
install it in their place on there, and then they

(48:41):
use it to take Finesse Finessa, which was originally before
everything got messed up, a green, luscious planet with water
and everything. After the change, it was a destroyed, desered
in land. But then they take the Cornerstone and the

(49:05):
weapon of Billard, the the Separator, and they reconstruct the
planet and turn it into the planet that Sig remembers,
gives him what he wants, but at what costs, And
of course the Sig begins to see is seeing right

(49:27):
through it, which leads to the ultimate confrontation between brother
versus brother, trying to bring everything back together. But a
lot again, a lot of great great images in here.
We got a lot of great characters.

Speaker 2 (49:48):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (49:49):
We even get a Darth Jenner so in this one, yeah,
which is great, which I thought, nice nod to Rogue one,
and it's just a lot of fun. And of course
the Sith clan of Sith Lord's all turn on dev

(50:10):
because he's not destroying everything like they want him to,
which was the original plan. So now you have the
Sith on Seth violence, which of course leads to the
brother helping brother again. But I think the big surprise,
like you said there at the end of the episode,

(50:32):
once the Jedi arrive and saved the day and everything's
going on, Cornerstone gets put back in place, is the
final guests who arrive. I know you're itching to talk
about it, so I'm going to let you share it.

(50:53):
My friend tell us who is our surprise guest.

Speaker 2 (50:58):
Well, like you said, you did such an Unsho was saying, yeah,
and I was hoping you would about how you see
Darth Ray, Darth Tiko, Darth Kid Fisto shout out to
Phil Lamar voice actor for Darth Knobs is out there
as well. Sorry, Daz more explaining to do but they
all turn on him. And then it does set the

(51:20):
stage for this this kind of post credit scene, which
is you see Darth Ray and Darth Tico go meet
with we think the Mandalorian, but it's the Lendolorian and
of course a baby grow Goop who has this devious
smile on his face and it closes out. And of course,

(51:42):
now having seen a year later pieces of the past,
we know the role that those two play. But I
thought that was really cool how and of course they're
playing the Mandalorian music and I thought that was really
really fun and of course, you know, anything to hear,
you know, Billy d Williams reprize that role at his

(52:05):
age is just wonderful, you know, Mark Hamill being in
it and Billy d Williams, I mean, that's incredible all
these years later, but.

Speaker 3 (52:16):
Absolutely, and having the Lando Lorian show up at the
end and he is the bounty hunter and they want
him to and he's more of not necessarily bound, the
more of an assassin because Ray and Tico are hiring
him to get them Sig dead or alive. And then

(52:43):
the credits run. So a lot, a lot of a
lot of fun in this series. A lot of great
things happen, and it's definitely something that if you are
not watching, you need to go back and watch because
you will enjoy it. So let's anything else. It's about
part four. It before we go into final reactions, my friend.

Speaker 2 (53:04):
No, no, let's do final reactions.

Speaker 3 (53:06):
Let's do it final reactions. You know, I this was
a fun, distracting series. You know, I will say it
was great to watch. I watched it last year when
it was first released, and then with every intention for
us to review it last year. Then Hurricane not even

(53:28):
a month after this was released, Hurricane came through and
everything went crazy and we just never got around to it.
But great episode, great series, Love the Easter Eggs. I
would love at one point sometime in the future to
come back and revisit this and even the second part

(53:49):
and just pull out all the Easter eggs we can
to discuss. I think that would be just be fun
to do. But it's just a fun story and lots
of lots of fun, lots of a lot of things
to do going forward. So so yeah, what about you, friend,

(54:10):
what about your final reactions?

Speaker 2 (54:12):
Yeah, I mean it's I don't know. I really find
it really enjoyable to come back to it a year later,
you know, as last September came out, we're here in
October just a year later and going back through it.
But I think it's also was even more fun because

(54:34):
then you put Pieces of the past, which we'll cover.
We'll have some fun with that too, and seeing both
of them together, four parts of this and then four
parts of Pieces of the Past, it really makes this
one come alive even more. And obviously in that you
know you you piggyback right off of the Landalorenge at
the end of this, and you go right into pieces

(54:55):
of the past. So I enjoy Easter Eggs. I enjoy
all the homages. There's a lot of deep, you know,
Star Wars stuff at the core of this that they share.
And so if you're a young kid and this is
your first introduction to Star Wars, it's a lot of
fun and at the same time you're getting a pretty good,

(55:19):
you know, dose of underlying core issues and things that
we learned throughout Star Wars. And so you know, the
animation is incredible, the color again, getting Mark Hambell in there,
getting Billy d Williams in there, I do like Galen

(55:40):
Matterazo right yea in there, and then I'm trying to
block him on the guy's name. He plays dev he was,
he plays he's in the Spider Man movies too, thank you,
thank you, and so yeah, and of course hearing Anthony
Daniels and you know all of that. So just just

(56:03):
great to just sit down and have fun. You can
you can't go wrong with this. You you watch all
four of them, and by the time you're done, you're
just you're smiling because it was so so fun, so
creative and so beautifully down.

Speaker 3 (56:18):
Very good, very good, very good. Of course we would
love to hear from you and your thoughts on rebuilding Galaxy.
Of course you can do that a number of ways.
Of course, you can hit us up on any of
our socials. We're on Facebook and x at SW Reactions, pod,
we are on Blue Sky, Instagram, Pinterest, TikTok, threads, YouTube

(56:42):
and Tumblr all at SW Reactions. You can email us

leave us a voicemail at speakpipe dot com slash Star
Wars Reactions. Of course, David, if they want to talk

(57:02):
Star Wars with you, how would somebody go about doing that?

Speaker 2 (57:05):
Well, the two traditional ways. One is Twitter ax that's
just at David Underscore Motters. You can also look me
up on Instagram David Motters, and then I guess the
third third way is through any of the show socials,

(57:26):
and so if you send anything there Aaron Grady, he
sends me stuff if stuff comes through, And those are
three different ways to do it.

Speaker 3 (57:34):
Absolutely absolutely, and of course you can hit me up
anytime anywhere through any of these show socials, or of
course you can hit me up on my personal socials.
The two best to hit me up on our either
x or Instagram at sw reactions. Right, No, that's the show.

(57:54):
That's the Carabas, my personal one. My personal ones our
Tia Harris twelve to seventy nine. There we go. Ah, well,
my friend, I think we're almost done.

Speaker 2 (58:12):
All right, I'm I'm nervous, you should be.

Speaker 3 (58:18):
So it is time for our Star Wars Dad joke
of the week. And of course, if you remember in
our last episode, I told you I was debating between
two jokes. Well, this week you get the second of
the two. Last week's was a great one about what
do you call a dog owed by a Mandalorian? It's
a boba pet? This week? This week is another Mandalorian

(58:46):
themed joke, which I'm perfect considering we had the Landelorian
at the end of the episode. So why are you ready, David?

Speaker 2 (58:57):
Are you I think so? I'm trying.

Speaker 3 (58:59):
I'm trying, You're trying, Okay, I just want to make
sure here we go. Why can't you beat the Mandalorian
in a race? Hm?

Speaker 2 (59:10):
Why can't you beat the Mandalorian in a race?

Speaker 3 (59:17):
Because he has the best car? Oh my, I.

Speaker 2 (59:25):
Saw you laughing. I could see you. You were laughing
waiting to say this. Oh God, do you hear the
collective grown around the world as you Uh, you had
the best car.

Speaker 3 (59:42):
The only the only thing that would have made this
joke better is if I'd have had one of those
hot Wheels. You know they did the character Hot Wheels
had the Mandalorian. If I'd have had one of those,
it had it come shooting across screen. Yell the best car,
the best thing. Oh h perfect. Well, David, this has

(01:00:08):
been a blast, my friend.

Speaker 2 (01:00:09):
It's been a great time. Man. Glad to record with
you once again.

Speaker 3 (01:00:13):
Absolutely absolutely what we do. Thank you all for joining
us here for another exciting episode of Star Wars Reactions.
We appreciate y'all joining us each and every week. We
love y'all. We're praying for y'all and appreciate all that

And of course, as I say each week, go out
and do something kind man. I mean, there's not enough
kindness in this world to go around right now, and
we need all of it we can get. So go
out do something kind for somebody and just make the
world a little brighter just by being kind and being yourself,
so remember this is your place for elegant discussion for
