Speaker 3 (00:13):
In nineteen seventy seven, George Lucas formed a legacy me
I am inspired by mythology. His saga has become a
passion for many. His legend has become our story, one
of resistance.
Speaker 1 (00:31):
We are.
Speaker 3 (00:35):
Rebellion and redemption.
Speaker 2 (00:38):
I am jet Father.
Speaker 3 (00:41):
This is Star Wars reactions.
Speaker 2 (00:43):
Remember we'll be with you always. Hello.
Speaker 1 (00:49):
That welcome to Star Wars reactions. Everybody, how's everybody doing.
We are so excited to welcome you back for our
two hundred and thirtieth episode. Believe that two hundred and
thirty episodes. We are so excited to have you with us.
We're so excited you're joining us. So let's let's get
some introduction out of the way and get the party started.
(01:13):
My name is Aaron Harrison, joining me as always. He
is the Ezra. Actually I'm the Ezra. He's the Canaan
because he's taller. He's the Canaan to my Ezra. He
is the David Matys. What's David brother? What's going on?
Speaker 2 (01:30):
What is happening, my brother. We are we're recording, man,
and we're we've been doing pretty good. We've been pretty
consistent and recording. We've not been able to do this
for quite a while, so it's nice to be able
to do it. I'm really enjoying getting on with you.
You and I have always had fun for years doing this.
So once again we're sitting down behind the mics and
(01:51):
I'm ready to react and once again just looking forward
to just having fun with what we're covering tonight.
Speaker 1 (01:59):
Oh yeah, so exactly. We're going to have a great
time covering uh, the fourth through the sixth episodes of
Star Wars Visions Volume three. Now, this is a little
earlier than we had planned on doing it. We had
other other plans for tonight, but unfortunately, due to uh
(02:25):
some health issues, those fell through. UH So we definitely
we want to to wish uh. Jeff McGee was going
to be joining us from Star Wars Splash Page uh
to talk about his new podcast that's coming out, and
we wanted to uh he was going to join us,
but he's he's been under the weather and sick, and
(02:46):
we want to wish him a very speedy recovery. And
of course, let you know, Jeff, as always, doors always open,
my friend. When you're feeling better and you're back on
your feet, give us a call. We'll talk and have
some fun and party on reaction. So but till then,
we're going to talk of volume three of Star Wars Visions,
(03:07):
episode four through six. So let's let's get going the
first episode. It's just going by the how they were
released one and how they're listed on Disney Plus, which
is how we watched them, and how we're doing them.
We're going with what is known as episode four, which
is entitled The Bounty Hunters, released October twenty ninth, twenty
(03:30):
twenty five, written by Hiroshi Seco and directed by Junichi Yamamoto.
I got that one right, Because you want to know
how I got that one good, I'll tell you how
I got that one good. Midway Oh midway the movie
(03:53):
the movie want it or just go the history books too.
Speaker 2 (03:57):
Oh sure.
Speaker 1 (03:58):
One of the Japanese admirals that was over the attack
was Yamamoto. Recognized the name immediately, so yes Ji Yamamoto.
And of course the studio that made this particular episode,
The Bounty Hunters is WIT Studio w A t wit
(04:18):
Witt Studio in this episode of Bounty Hunter's job for
a shady industrialist has unexpected consequences for her and her droid.
All right, so let's go into some initial reactions for
this episode. I'll tell you this one. To me, I
(04:40):
enjoyed this episode. This was actually a lot of fun
for me because the one thing I really enjoyed was
the dual personality Droid. That thing had me cracking up
throughout the episode because you couldn't have two more different characters.
So I really enjoy joyed the droid. The story was good,
(05:03):
and it had some nice, nice drawbacks and stuff. So
what did you think of this episode? David?
Speaker 2 (05:09):
Oh my gosh, I love this episode. I you know,
last night, I know you were doing we were doing
prep right for tonight, and we were watching these and
I watched this one again and it was you know,
sometimes stuff you're like, I watch the second time. I
absolutely wanted to watch this again, get it all back
in my brain because I had watched it back, you know,
(05:30):
and really at the end of October, which is about
two weeks ago at this point. But I have to
tell you, out of all three volumes, this is one
of my faiths from all three seasons, not just this volume.
That's how much I like it. In terms of the characters,
like you said, here's iv A for a droid. This
(05:52):
is Assassin Protocol placed in it. I love the story.
I mean the action music, Oh my gosh. And how
can you get I mean, how can you not love
a huge gold droidica are you kidding me? Oh? So good,
so good. And I'll say this, you know, and I
(06:17):
don't know if you noticed this, but this is where
you know, you and me with our love of Clone
Wars is when the droid ivy A four til seven. Hey,
here's your chance. I'll distract him. You know, the Greek
Gin sim the greedy industrialist, and she rolls that little
(06:40):
roller ball right right through the protective shield and shocks it.
That's right out of the Andron arc when Ahsoka is training,
you know, Sagerera and his sister and that whole crew.
And I immediately thought, oh my gosh, right there, homage
to Ahsoka and the Clone Wars. So I love this.
Speaker 1 (07:02):
Oh yeah, it's great homage. We're using the droid poppers
to try to take down the the droid go with
Gin that Jensen was was controlling. But what really what
I really dug about this episode a lot was how
much it reflected to Solo a Star Wars story. You
(07:27):
have the you have the Britch guy hiring him, hiring
the crew to pull off the job, and they pulled
the job off perfectly, and all of a sudden, it's
not the job they thought it was, so they're flipping
the script. It's to me this was This was also
a great homage to Solo. I really enjoyed that, And
(07:51):
I love the twists where at the end where uh,
you think they're defeated and the Gensim who is the
the rich industrialist, uh has seven uh basically shooting shooter droid,
shoot your droid. So and of course she shoots the droid,
(08:13):
but apparently she shot only one personality of the droid,
and it just so happened to be the kind medical
doctor version of the droid, and the assassin version of
the droid comes to life, and you know, kickstail, and
of course the day is one. But it was such
(08:36):
an incredible I VY I v A for man is
he's no chopper. I'll give him that. He's not a chopper, right,
but he's up there He quickly became one of my
favorite droids with with this multi personality. You see him,
he's he's all nice and calm. I think we should
do this. This is not the this is this is
(08:58):
what we should do. This is safe. This is that
all of a sudden, the switch flips. Gosh shootootootoo shoo
shoot kill them all.
Speaker 2 (09:05):
It was.
Speaker 1 (09:05):
It's it's insane watching watching those flips, and of course
I I love seeing some. There was uh several Togruda
in the episode as well, who were part of the
slaves they end up rescuing there at the end, and
there was one that looked kind of remarkably like a
(09:27):
Soca that was sitting in there in the work chamber.
I don't know if you noticed that. Oh yeah, I
had to do a double taking, reminded for saying like, wait,
that's not that's that's not supposed to be. And then
I'm like looking, I'm like, okay, no it's not. But
it looks a really lot like her.
Speaker 2 (09:45):
Oh yeah. Now I got two more things I would
say about this. One is I want more of this,
I want more of seven. I want more of ivy
A four. And now they were blasting off go get
this assassin protocol removed. I hope there's a lot of
things that impede them from getting there and they have
(10:06):
more adventures with the dual personality.
Speaker 1 (10:09):
Right, Yeah, well it depends, you know, the if they
to try to remove the assassin protocol, that means the
the medical droid version would still have to be intact.
There's no indication the medical droid version is still intact,
so how do you remove it? Then?
Speaker 2 (10:26):
At that point, that's a good point. That's a good point.
Speaker 1 (10:30):
But yeah, I have one agree with you out of
all so far because out of all the ones we've
watched so far, from volume one, volume two, and what
we've watched in volume three, this is what I want
to see dug in two more. I need to see
more of seven. I need to see more of Ivy
A four. I would love to see more of that story.
(10:52):
And I would love to see what happens with these
free slaves as well, because she's I don't see seven
leaving them alone.
Speaker 2 (11:01):
Right, coming back checking? Yeah, exactly, and so no, and
so you know, we got you know, the duel was uh,
you know, we covered that last week. That was a
second one. We also had the ninth Jedi. But this
is one where I'd really like to see more. I
think there's so much potential and and and here's the
(11:22):
other point I was going to make, and I think
they they hinted at it. So this one really ties
into wanting more of these episodes. But the way they
started this in the Flames, and this jedis there and
doesn't you know and save Seven in essence, doesn't you know,
arrest her or enslaver, but just hands her back or
blast her. But that beautiful green blade and what the
(11:44):
what the Jedi said in terms of your free now
go help others, you know, at the beginning, you're like, well,
wait a minute, what's going on? But but kind of
midway through, she has another flashback that finishes up with
the Jedi hinting that back, and at the end end
of this episode you see Seven saying this is all
her fault, you know, And I'm doing this nice stuff
(12:06):
now and helping other people, you know, and you know
it'd be cool to, you know, if there's anything more there,
or find out who that Jedi was or whatever, but
really see her continue to help others based on what
this Jedi did for her. I loved like there was
a clip there at the beginning, right buddy, where the
Jedi's walking down the stairs with the green Blade, and
(12:28):
it's just the way that they animated that was just glorious.
It was so good.
Speaker 1 (12:33):
Well, you know, watching that opening scene where where the
Jedi's fighting and she's downstairs watching in seven soundstairs kind
of watching up at there, and you got thegree as
a Jedi, and through the flashbacks through the episode, that
Jedi actually reminded me a lot of in Dhara from
(12:55):
from Acolyte.
Speaker 2 (12:57):
Interesting. I like that. I like that.
Speaker 1 (13:01):
I liked Ndara. To me, to me, that was the
greatest tragedy of one of the greatest strategies of Accolyte
is you killed her off in the first five minutes
of the show, right. I mean, don't get me started
on that, but to me, that to me, that was
a very close resemblance to Dara, and to me, I
(13:24):
you know, I like to believe it.
Speaker 2 (13:26):
Was yeah, yeah, I mean I like and yeah, and
what she stood for and trying to help others, and
I just really I love that they showed a little
bit of the clip and then came back to another
flashback and how this is really driving seven to listen
to right, remember the it is not recommended to listen
to your captors. And she's like, I'll give you thirty seconds,
(13:47):
you know, but that's all because of what that Jedi did.
So watching it a second time, it just really sinks
in more and you start processing it. And like I said,
I really really liked this one, really like this one,
and I think seven is kicked butt. And and so
those I v A four both they're just great together.
Speaker 1 (14:09):
Oh yeah, they are. They truly are, and it just
mates made for a great, great episode. And I'm I'm
I was excited at this, you know, we're we're We've
only talked about four episodes so far, the first three
in the last episode we did and then this one.
But I can already tell you I'm enjoying this season,
(14:33):
this volume of Visions more than I did, definitely more
than I did one. But right now it's it's beaten
two for me. And I really enjoyed volume two. Yeah,
and we haven't even gotten to the episode that I'm
a Law that I've been waiting for because for the record,
since we decided, since we split this up into three episodes,
(14:57):
I'm watching these the week we're I haven't watched them
all yet when they were first released, so like the
three this week, I watched them for the first time
this week, so I'm not you know, watching and going back.
I the episode I'm long forst Black. This is called Black,
and that's the ninth episode. That will be the last
(15:18):
one we talk about. So it's gonna be sitting near
the bush on that one there there. We're covering at
this point at this point, but either way, I can't
wait to get to that one. But so far these
episodes have been have been incredible.
Speaker 2 (15:32):
Agreed. Yeah, the three we covered last week, and and
and uh and this one. And you're gonna hear me
say a lot of good things about the next two.
Speaker 1 (15:43):
Absolutely absolutely anything else you want to talk about, uh
with Bounty Hunters before we go into the next episode.
Speaker 2 (15:50):
Nope, nope, I just I want those two things.
Speaker 3 (15:52):
One.
Speaker 2 (15:52):
I want to see more and I love the role
of this Jedi in Seven's life.
Speaker 1 (15:58):
Very good, very good. Yeah, I will agree with you.
I do want more of this. It is something that
we need that Disney needs to give us that. I
would be wholeheartedly on board four. So give me IV
a four to me more iv A four, So all right.
(16:20):
Next up on the list, we have Yuko's Treasure. Yuko's Treasure,
of course, also released October twenty ninth, twenty twenty five.
This is the fifth episode in the lineup of Volume
three of Visions. This one written by Natsuko Takiya Takiyashi
(16:43):
and Mika Tanaka Nice, directed by Masaki Tatshibana, and the
studio was Kiinima Citrus, Kinima Citrus.
Speaker 2 (16:59):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (17:00):
Synopsis for this episode for Uko's Treasure us Treasure was
volume that was episode six, not five.
Speaker 2 (17:10):
Six. There you go?
Speaker 1 (17:11):
Wait did I skip one?
Speaker 2 (17:14):
No? Bonney Hunters was four, Hunters four, Treasure is five?
Speaker 1 (17:20):
No, right, and then Lost Ones was five. Well now
they have they have them out of okay, near mind,
You're right, you on Disney plus Uko's Treasures is five.
They mislabeled them on on the Star Wars website. Okay,
so yes, you carabassed. I have an order for you
(17:44):
and showing notes that And that's what threw me off
because I'm sitting there like, wait, this isn't David's got this.
Star Wars dot Com has this, see the two people
like when it comes to Star Wars two people I
trust the most aren't jiving and I'm I was going
to have a break for a second. Okay, you Go's Treasure,
(18:05):
which is actually number five on Disney Plus. This episode,
of course, is about an orphan a little girl orphaned
by her family and cared for by a benevolent bear
like droid named Billy. Young Yuko makes a life on
Tatooine in the latest from Kinema Citrus with a street
(18:30):
wise kid conspires to steal a small droid. You Go
embarks on adventure that will reveal her family legacy and
the power of friendship and found family. So let's jump
right into this. Of course, this one is more family oriented.
(18:53):
You have a lot more a lot more storytelling based
on relationship in this than you did in the last one,
where it was a lot of action. But let's let's go.
Speaker 2 (19:08):
Right to this.
Speaker 1 (19:08):
You know, they didn't pull any punches. They took us
right back to tattooing, right. Yeah, And from the looks
of it, at one point, I do believe we were
in the most icely cantina.
Speaker 2 (19:20):
Yeah, yeah, especially with that little that little spaceship outside
they had a landing. You know, we saw it, you know,
back of course I saw it in seventy seven probably
you know Opening week saw it. You know there was
a stationary never moved. But uh but yeah, that's I mean,
you know all the imagery right of tatooing.
Speaker 1 (19:42):
Oh yeah, I love the and taking us back to
somewhere as iconic as tatooing. You have to have that
those iconic places and scenes to tell the story. And
one of my favorite scenes is, uh, you Co and
Billy are walking. They had left most sicicly in there,
(20:03):
which I'm assuming he's bustled. He's never said the name
of the city, but they're they're walking through the desert
and you have the two suns setting in the two
suns setting in the distance, and it's just very to me,
probably one of the most Star warsy scenes you can
get on Tattooing.
Speaker 2 (20:24):
Oh and I and that's why I put in the
show notes. I had to stop it and I rewound
it and I looked and I'm like, it's very quick.
It's very quick, but you'll see create dragon bones behind them.
At first I didn't see them. I'm like, oh wait,
and then I saw them very quick, very quick, and
kind of a different angle on what we've traditionally seen
(20:45):
is create Dragon Bones in episode four, so that I
loved it. I love seeing that. And and like you said,
there was even an overhead shot that is like right
out of the special edition. Yeah, you know, they just
animated it, you know. And so yeah, all the all
the fields, of course, all the jahwas and then even
(21:05):
at one point it's uh, Sola, the boy is telling you,
are you sure it's this way? Because most is the
other way, you know, So they were heading they were
heading straight out of the most areas. So but yeah, Billy,
b I l I I was it, baby, I love
you right, thanks to that, you know. But I like
(21:27):
these characters Fox here, Malcolm. Yeah, you know, you say
who voiced it?
Speaker 1 (21:34):
You go ahead, let's talk about Fox here because the
look is just iconic, right, It's got the look of
of of something straight out of ancient Egypt.
Speaker 2 (21:47):
Yes, Egypt? Yeah, yeah, with the dog face.
Speaker 1 (21:54):
Yeah, very very iconic look. But then you bring and
probably one of the most iconic character actors there is
to voice them in Stevey.
Speaker 2 (22:10):
Oh it's brilliant.
Speaker 1 (22:11):
I mean, come on, it couldn't get much better than that.
I mean, Stevey and Star Wars. I never thought I
would see the day.
Speaker 2 (22:21):
No, as soon as I heard his voice. As soon
as Fox spoke, I'm like, I know who that is.
Speaker 1 (22:24):
Oh absolutely, and I know that there's no mistaking Steve
Bumi's voice.
Speaker 3 (22:30):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (22:30):
So the fact that they got Steve and to do
a Star Wars episode.
Speaker 2 (22:38):
Uh, that's pretty impressive.
Speaker 1 (22:42):
Yeah, oh absolutely.
Speaker 2 (22:46):
So.
Speaker 1 (22:47):
And of course, uh, Sola, I like Sola again a
redemption story. In this episode, you have Sola, who's part
of the pirate gang with under Fox here finds out
that no, they're actually going to kill Uko and Billy
and take the treasure back that they think they're hiding.
(23:08):
And of course he comes He's like, no, we can't
do that.
Speaker 2 (23:12):
You know, they're just a kid.
Speaker 1 (23:14):
So of course he runs and try warns them, and
of course he starts his redemption journey by rescuing Uko,
then helps Uk rescue Billy, and then of course they
all end up at this basically this mausoleum out in
the middle of the desert. Yeah, and they find one
(23:35):
galactic credit which looked like it came like identical to
one of those little credit card credit chips from Galaxy's Edge,
which I thought was a nice note. I thought that
was a great nod.
Speaker 2 (23:50):
Oh yeah.
Speaker 1 (23:51):
Then of course from there the fighting ensues. They end
up winning Fox Air Lee. Everybody leaves, and of course
they've discovered that that really wasn't the treasure, that was
just the lobby. They took an elevator underground, and there's
(24:11):
this whole world opened up to him. There's home, there's supplies,
there's a starship. And what I really liked about it
is Uko brings Solo with them as all as like, no,
I'm not this is your thing, This isn't me. I'm
(24:32):
going to go. Go's like no, no, your family now,
and brings him in because that's all Solo was looking
for through the whole thing. That's why he joined the pirates.
He wanted family and he was searching for family, and
he just I love the fact that he found his
family all through this tragedy.
Speaker 2 (24:54):
So cool. It was so good. You know, when they
start showing, you know, and Yuko's there was Sola and
Billy and these you know, the little holograms of you go,
you know, with he and she. I thought it was
I thought Sola said, what is he crying about? I
don't know. I could be wrong, because if star Wars
(25:15):
dot Com says she.
Speaker 1 (25:17):
Then well, you know also said this was number six.
Speaker 2 (25:22):
Right, so they got the order to so. But just
just seeing those those holograms, you know, we're very touching,
and I thought they were very well done, you know.
And then right, not only for Sola finding the treasure
of found family, but just the treasure for you go
to be able to not not the starship and not
(25:44):
the home down there. But but you know, those videos,
those holograms of the bring back can or even facilitate
memory of the parents. There's a there's a lot of
treasure there, you know.
Speaker 1 (25:58):
Oh yeah, oh no, absolutely a lot of treasure there,
a lot of a lot of memories and everything too
that Yuko will Uko could start remembering. And then of
course it ends with them of course taking off in
the starship, with Billy going and give them flying lessons.
(26:20):
What could possibly go wrong? Two kids and two kids
and a care.
Speaker 2 (26:24):
Bear more adventures in space.
Speaker 1 (26:28):
Yes, I tell you. One thing I did want to
mention that that we hadn't mentioned yet talking about this
particular episode is the fact that with at the beginning
of the episode, of course, this is the whole thing
is revolving around Yuko's birthday, and they're celebrating Yuko's birthday.
(26:49):
Billy goes to town to sell some water from moisture
evaporators they got and to get Yuko a present, and
one of the models she's looking at is a T
sixteenth Skyhopper, the same like toy we see Luke playing
with while see three pos getting his oil bath, you know,
(27:09):
and a new Hope. And I thought that was a
great nod to the saga as well, not only being
on tattoo, but having that there as well.
Speaker 2 (27:17):
Yeah, there was a number of really cool hanging ornaments toys,
how you're gonna call it more toys, you know. One
was one was a besmand and at the boodam hanging
from it was the cloud car another another toy. But yeah,
a lot of classic imagery throughout this, you know, kind
(27:38):
of like when we were talking last week about the
song of the Four Wins and like you were mentioning
like the the mask, the storm Trooper masks kind of
taking apart. One around is a crane precias Crane's neck
and her goggles you know, like rays, and so a
lot is iconography and yeah, so I'm glad you brought
(27:58):
that up when Billy was in the there's a lot
of those, not just iconography, but you're here, Doug Chain
talk about the Star Wars silhouettes like we know them,
you know, And that's what I really should really pick
up on. As soon as Billy's standing there, and of
course Sola comes up and says, hey, have you seen
(28:19):
these guys? You know, of course it's Yuko's parents and
and stuff. But yeah, a lot of a lot of callbacks,
a lot of iconography, a lot of silhouettes that clue
us in of a lot of cool things in Star Wars.
Speaker 1 (28:32):
Oh, absolutely absolutely. And one thing I we we didn't
mention too either was Foxier had his underlings. You know,
we had the two, we had Gura en Riku, but
then we had all these little bread face underlings. Zer
(28:54):
was it me or did they remind you of Minions?
Speaker 2 (28:56):
Minions?
Speaker 1 (28:57):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (28:59):
Basically get nothing to either, Yeah, exactly.
Speaker 1 (29:03):
They Star Wars now has minions, only differences they're pink red,
pink is red there. But yeah, no, I thought that
was fun too.
Speaker 2 (29:17):
So yeah, well, and I would say this consistently what
you're talking about. You know, we see the create dragon
bones to start, but then this great Dragon at the
end actually plays a critical role in helping out our heroes,
you know, falling down in the hole. The great Dragon
comes back out and then like I said, knocks everybody
(29:39):
down in and stuff. So yeah, create dragon throughout this
episode as well.
Speaker 1 (29:45):
So very good, very good. All right, anything else about
uh you ghost treasure before we go into our final
episode for this.
Speaker 2 (29:57):
Oh, let's do it man for tonight, Steward.
Speaker 1 (30:00):
All right, let's go into it. Next up, we have
the Lost Ones. This one is officially on Disney Plus
number six on the lineup. This one was written by
Taka Hito Nishi and Hitoshi Haga, directed by Hitoshi Haga,
(30:24):
and this one was also done by Kenema Citrus. So
this is the second one in the series for in
the volume for Kinema Citrus, fantastic episode. Good job. So
let's talk about the Lost Ones. This actually is the
(30:45):
sequel story to the episode Village Bride. Okay, of course,
when her ship is damaged an incognito f escape certain
disaster with the help of a crew of refugee. But
when her I did it, he attracts the Empire. The
craft is intercepted and f must confront her former Master
(31:09):
shad Rah. All right, so let's uh, let's jump right
into it, my friend, what were your initial reactions to
this episode?
Speaker 2 (31:21):
Well, last week I talked about how you know, out
of the three three of these nine are part twos, right,
and I said that I liked the original of the
duel and volume one. I liked the Ninth Jedi versus
(31:42):
the Ninth Jedi child, this second one, and this third one.
I thought I felt the same way. But when I
watched it again to prepare for this recording with you,
I'm like, wait a minute, I'm really liking this. I'm
really digging this and really taking more in and just
really listening to what F has to say Chadra, you know,
(32:03):
and stuff like that. And and I'm liking these characters.
I liked Lulu the little Droid. And again I like
this character of F. I really really liked her in
the village ride and how she saves that village and
just kicks butt and getting some backstory. Initially I was like,
(32:25):
I don't think I like this as much as the
first one, But watching it the second time, I'm like,
who at her? The way she battles her former master man.
I love it. I love it, how about you.
Speaker 1 (32:38):
Well, right off the bat, this show, this episode had
me hooked because it's not in the show notes. So
I don't know if you realized it, David, but that
opening scene is I know mucha back to the future.
(33:01):
What the opening scene, you see him put the device,
the device on the rock. Then all of a sudden
you see the guy stand up. He's in a yellow
radiation suit with the red around the visor, and he's
holding a square box with a string. He is Darth
Vader from the planet Vulcan. Oh my gosh, from Back
(33:22):
to the Future. That is one hundred percent back to
the future.
Speaker 2 (33:27):
Oh my gosh. I didn't know that.
Speaker 1 (33:29):
Oh my gosh, I noticed it. I was like, I
am not seeing this. I watched it. I watched that
opening forty seconds, thirty seconds, whatever it is at least
a dozen times, pinching myself while I was watching this.
This is so back to the future. I mean, it
(33:50):
was perfect. Its absolutely incredible. Uh and I loved it.
To me at that point, I was hooked. I'm like,
this is it? Boom here we go. Yeah, and uh
then of course we uh you mentioned the village. Of course,
that's where f meets up with the crew saves them
(34:13):
from from the village and they escape on their shuttle. Uh.
And of course their shuttle is the Ghost to the Phantom.
Speaker 2 (34:24):
To excuse me, the same type of ship is the Phantom,
That's right. That's right.
Speaker 1 (34:29):
So we got that, which is pretty sinc and cool.
And then of course we find out that the whole
purpose of these scavengers that that are on the planet
where where f crash landed, essentially, uh, is that is
their home planet. But because of overmining from the Empire
(34:51):
and everybody, there is now a curbon issue and there
are random eruptions that base freeze the parts of the
planet in carbonite, which is insane. So you have them
in this destroyed village getting supplies, getting what's salvaging what
(35:12):
they can, when all of a sudden there's an eruption
and you have all this black stuff coming through and
basically freezing everything in carbonite. Wicked, crazy scene.
Speaker 2 (35:23):
I loved it.
Speaker 1 (35:24):
Gosh, it was insane. It's kind of kind of kind
of gave you a this is what happened in Pompeii feel, yeah,
because it just swept through in a blink of an eye.
Speaker 2 (35:35):
Yeah, so good, so good.
Speaker 1 (35:39):
Oh, fantastic, fantastic. Then of course we have Ron, who
is uh who was the one that was dreadless like
Darth Vader from the planet Vulcan.
Speaker 2 (35:51):
That's right, it is what it is man, and.
Speaker 1 (35:58):
We have him. Of course, he ends up being the
one that gets saved by f after a building collapses
and they get rescued and they take him and they
escape the carbonite and they go back to their ship
where they meet up with Juna, who of course reminds
me of Decks from the Diner.
Speaker 2 (36:19):
That's right, that's right.
Speaker 1 (36:21):
Uh yeah. And of course, long story short, cutting it
out a lot of the small talk and everything there
because you know, she's a new person. Everybody's excited to
see her. The Empire shows up demanding the turnover the
Jedi that the ship is hiding, and of course we
have a refugee ship. We have f on there, and
(36:44):
so f just surrenders her stuff. But Ron's not going
to let her do it by herself. No, no, no,
he goes with her. He surrenders, She goes surrenders and
ends up being taken to her master Chadra, who she
is survived the events of the last episode, and this
(37:07):
is where we're at. So what were your thoughts when
she walked into almost that Holidax style thing h and
met Shadraw That was really cool?
Speaker 2 (37:21):
Yeah, yeah, well it sounds like basically Shadrab made the
old deal with the devil, you know, like you know,
I I died, but I came back because you know,
I agreed to do this. And then it's the usual
what do they call it? An Incredibles monologuing right, you
know says I can't get caught up in monologuing, you know,
(37:41):
and and then you got to talk to each other.
But it gives us that backstory. And what I really
really love is how f focuses in on what her
master taught her, not not this version, but you know,
literally saying the Shadrah you you know, I'm I'm helping others.
(38:02):
I'm doing I know right from wrong. I know what
you taught me, and I'm going to do that, not
not this new message that you want to try to
push on me, foil or you know, foist on me.
I love that she doesn't go for it. That's why
I love her like I do seven the two really
(38:22):
strong female characters that that are doing the right thing.
I love it I love it and and you know,
and then I love the part too, buddy, where you know, Chadra,
I guess is zero then?
Speaker 3 (38:38):
Right?
Speaker 2 (38:38):
Chadra? Is is that right? Is that zero? Now?
Speaker 1 (38:42):
Yes? Zero?
Speaker 3 (38:44):
Now?
Speaker 1 (38:44):
Zero?
Speaker 2 (38:45):
And and basically telling F you know you cannot defeat
me in lightsaber battle, and like F's like doing a
flip over and saying, yeah, I already know that I
can't beat you in a duel, but I can put
this carbonite on you. That was like sweet, that was
so cool, you know, I spreading down the side of
(39:08):
of zero, you know, and and freezing the you know,
the whole body and stuff like that. It's a very cool.
Speaker 1 (39:17):
Oh yeah, it was quite cool. Quite fun to see too,
because one, you know, I one thing I kind of
jumped ahead with zero showing up, a shower of zero
showing up. But that starter story are coming out of
hyperspace beautifully animated. Oh my gosh, absolutely stunning to see
(39:41):
that thing come flying out. Now, the whole holidack thing
that she's kind of on where they meet up to me.
That takes me to Rebels too. There at the end,
when Ezra is taken to meet Palpatine on board the
(40:01):
Star Destroyer. Yes, and where he's tempted with his parents
and and everything, and Palpatine appears as the regal Chancellor
without any of the battle wounds from uh from Mace.
Speaker 2 (40:17):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (40:18):
But then as Ezra is calling on the forest and
getting start and not buying into what he's seeing, you know,
the the structure breaks down and all of a sudden,
Palpatine becomes citious and it's just really intense. And I
love how this one comes into because it's got that
same feel on the stars on the Star Destroyer.
Speaker 2 (40:42):
Well yeah, and when when the scene disappears, you see
the star Destroyer out there. You know, he was like, oh,
it's all nice in here. Oh wait, there's a star
destroyer out there, right, you know, Here's here's the real
city is. Yeah, that's where you are. You're not in
a nice you know, serene, what a countryside area. You're
(41:04):
on a starter strayer and you gotta be careful here
real fast. It also, you know too, when those those
pains kind of turned back over to stars and you
could see the starter strayer, you know, see an outer space.
It reminded me too of in the Last Jedi when
that big veil comes down, doesn't that reveal a who
bunch of stuff. When when Kylo w Ren and Ray
(41:26):
are battling, you know that that veil is up there
when they when kyler Ren takes out Uh snoke. Yeah,
do you remember that when that veil comes down and
you can see out into space? Isn't that right? I
think that's what I thought of too.
Speaker 1 (41:41):
Yeah, so yeah, Yeah, it's definitely one of those one
of those things that's just quite quite cool with with
the nods that it's giving two and she said last
Jedi and we see in Rebels that of course we
have the the whole Master versus Uh Padawan fight that
(42:04):
we see you know, everywhere. But I I thoroughly enjoyed
this episode overall because I thought I thought everything just
went really cool. Loulu, we haven't even talked about Luli
yet and we're running out of time. Lulu, of course,
is a little droid with the single eye. It's kind
(42:27):
of a combination of of R two BB eight and
the little was it do o from this combination of
those three together, Yeah, pretty cool. And of course we
see ron Uh being guided by the Lulu who's hacked
into the system. And then of course there's a one
scene with Ron where he is kind of almost in
(42:51):
that area like we see Obi one in on the
desk star really turning off the tractor beam. I thought
that was pretty thinking cool to see that. That was
a nice, nice nod to a new hope. Then, of course,
ultimately everybody makes their escape as the Star Destroyer blows up,
and that's where we're at. Anything else from the lost
(43:16):
ones we haven't touched on before we no no.
Speaker 2 (43:20):
I thought we did a nice job there, and again
I thought this was a maybe my favorite follow up
to the three episodes from volume one that got follow
ups here in volume.
Speaker 1 (43:30):
Three, I will I will definitely agree with that of
the ones that all got followed up, definitely, this was
probably my favorite, if not just because of the back
to the future not that helps that really that really
did something for me that that that's a nod I
never thought I would actually see in either franchise Star
(43:53):
Wars or Star Trek because they merged the two so fantastic.
It was great. I loved it and I can't can't
say enough great things about it. All right, So with that,
we of course want to hear from you and hear
what you think of Star Wars Visions Volume three. Of course,
(44:15):
we've already talked about episodes one through six. In a
future episode, we will be discussing episodes seven through nine,
so be on the lookout for that soon. But let
us know what you think of Vision's Volume three so far.
Multiple ways you can do that. You can, of course
find us on any of our social media We of
(44:38):

(45:08):
That's a mouthful, that is, David. If somebody wants to
talk Star Wars with you, my friend, how would they
go about doing that?
Speaker 2 (45:15):
Well, mine's a lot easier than what you do. That
was a mouthful. The two easiest ways are I would say,
I'm going to say, actually Instagram first. You know I'm
probably there even more than than Twitter X. Now, so
Instagram just my name David Motters, or like I mentioned
Twitter X, it's at David Underscore Motters. I need to
(45:39):
do a better job of checking on that. I just
haven't gone there a whole lot. But you know, again
the third way, and I've mentioned this over a number
of episodes, you can always send it to any of
this show socials. I have to always slow down when
I say that or it's gonna be a Cara Bass moment,
but Aaron always gets that stuff over to me.
Speaker 1 (45:57):
So so there you go, very good, very good, And
of course for me, if you need to get a
hold of me, the best way to do that, of
course is through any of the show socials as well
as you can always hit me up on my personal
exit or my Instagram, both of them are at Tia
Harris twelve, ten seventy nine. We would love to hear
(46:18):
from you, all right, my friend, you know what that means.
Speaker 2 (46:26):
Yeah, it's time to wrap up the show.
Speaker 1 (46:28):
It is time to wrap up the show with our
favorite part of the show, the Star Wars Dad joke
of the week. I need a theme song, you know,
even if I just go back and pull like eighties
basketball music, do do.
Speaker 2 (46:43):
Do Do Do Do Do Do Do do do do
do do do do do Do you ready for this?
Speaker 1 (46:48):
Do do to too, to do too? I can have
some fun too, you know. Anyho Are you ready, my friend?
Speaker 2 (46:58):
I am ready?
Speaker 1 (47:01):
All right, here we go. What do you call a
Jedi with four eyes?
Speaker 2 (47:13):
What do you call a Jedi with four eyes?
Speaker 1 (47:16):
Jed?
Speaker 2 (47:17):
I I I. Oh, it's not even Oh my gosh, apparently.
Speaker 1 (47:35):
Well Pearl will be jet.
Speaker 2 (47:39):
Okay, there you go. Even you really crack yourself up down.
Speaker 1 (47:46):
I really do, man, This is the best part of
my day. I love my Star Wars checks. I hope
you all like them too. If not, stick around you
here more. Anyway, all right, David, my friend, this has
been a blast as.
Speaker 2 (48:06):
