(00:00):
Hello friends, Steve Stockton here withyou. Welcome to our latest episode.
Now. Halloween originated from the ancientCeltic festival of Souweene, which has observed
two thousand years ago. The Celtsof Ireland, Northern France, and the
United Kingdom considered November one their Newyear. The night before the new year

(00:22):
was when the boundary between the worldsof the living and departed blurred, and
the spirits of the deceased returned toEarth. In present times, Halloween is
a knight of fun and spooks, when people indulge in harmless activities like trick
or treating. However, Halloween hasbeen associated with some horrendous crimes, and
I explained disappearances far more terrifying thanany ghosts, goblins, or witches.

(00:46):
In this video, we'll discuss casesof individuals who went missing on or around
Halloween. Join me, let's walkand see first up, the disappearance of
Marvin Alvin Clark. The oldest activemissing person case in the United States is
the disappearance of Marvin Alvin Clark.Marvin was born in Marion County, Iowa.

(01:07):
Around eighteen fifty two, He andhis wife Mary moved to Oregon as
early as nineteen ten, per censusrecords. Together, the couple had four
children, including a daughter named Sidney. On Saturday, October thirty, nineteen
twenty six, around one pm,Marvin departed tig Guard, Oregon for Portland,
Oregon to visit Sydney. Is unclearwhether he traveled by motor stage or

(01:33):
bus. Two days later, Marycontacted Sydney and learned that her husband never
reached his destination. Marvin's sudden disappearancecaused great concern among his worried family members,
who began the search for him immediately. The region also took an interest
in the case. Sidney claims shehad no idea about her father's intent to

(01:53):
visit her, as he had justreturned to his home in Tiguard after meeting
her a few days earlier. Marvinwas paralyzed on his right side, and
Mary suggested that her husband may havebecome ill in Portland and was taken someplace
where he cannot be identified. Accordingto some witnesses, Marvin was spotted at
a bus station in Portland dressed ina dark suit and slacks. More than

(02:14):
a week later, on November nine, Mary received a seemingly disjointed postcard from
Bellingham, Washington, apparently sent byMarvin. Several people in the Bellingham area
claimed to have seen him there betweenNovember two and three. In nineteen eighty
six, decades after Marvin was reportedmissing, laggers discovered skeletonized human remains in

(02:35):
the woods between Tigard and Portland, which raised new hopes of uncovering Marvin's fate.
Wire rimmed glasses, a pocket watch, an eighteen eighty eight v nickel,
a nineteen nineteen penny leather shoes,a Fraternal Order of Eagles, pocket
knife, and four tokens of theinscription D and P were found alongside the
remains. After this discovery, Marvin'sgranddaughter, Dorothy Willoughby, came forward and

(03:01):
presumed that the remains might have belongedto her missing grandfather. State medical examiner
doctor Karen Gunsen conducted an autopsy andconcluded the individual's cause of death was likely
attributed to self harm. She estimatedthe individual's age between thirty five to fifty
five years old, Still, anofficial identification could not be made at the

(03:22):
time. Marvin was alleged to havebeen between sixty and seventy five years old
when he disappeared. Marvin's case wasrevisited by doctor Nicky Vance in twenty eleven.
Forensic pathologists were able to retrieve sufficientDNA from the remains, which had
been instoraged since nineteen eighty six.A twenty fourteen report by The Oregonian stated

(03:43):
that the medical examiners could not locateany maternal descendants of Marvin, which prevented
them from making an identification. DoctorVance said they were trying to find a
maternal link and follow that lineage tomake a stronger association. In twenty eighteen,
KOI NTV reported that Pam Knowles,Marvin's great great granddaughter, and her
son, provided DNA samples to determinewhether or not the remains belonged to Marvin.

(04:08):
The DNA samples were sent to theUniversity of North Texas for comparison,
whereupon it was determined that her remainswere not Marvin's. The DNA samples remain
on file with the National Missing andUnidentified Person System Database for potential future comparison.
As of twenty twenty three, Marvinhas never been found. The disappearance

(04:29):
of Marvin Allen Clark has remained amystery for decades, despite the passage of
time, the enigma surrounding his disappearancehas continued to captivate the imagination and leave
many bewildered and intrigued. Next,we have the disappearances of Pamela Hobly Patricia
Spencer. On October thirty one, nineteen sixty nine, two teenage schoolmates,

(04:53):
fifteen year old Pamela Hobly and sixteenyear old Patricia Spencer, were reported missing
from Oscota, Michigan, a smalltown in northeast Michigan along Lake here On.
Although the girls were not known tobe friends, it is believed that
they decided to leave school early beforeattending a homecoming football game and a Halloween
party later that night. Neither girlhad an id or purse with them.

(05:15):
Pamela informed her family that she wouldreturn home after attending the game and party
with her friends and boyfriend. MaryBurley, Pamela's younger sister, who was
eight years old in nineteen sixty nine, spent most of the night trick or
treating. As the night continued withno sign of Pamela, their mother began
frantically calling around to locate her daughter. Pamela's boyfriend told the family that she

(05:38):
did not show up when they weresupposed to go out in the evening.
After speaking to Patricia's mother, shelearned that she too was missing. In
a later interview with On Demand,Pamela's sister, Mary Burley said, the
morning after November one, I rememberthat the police came. They kind of
searched the house. He went outinto the forest and party places that we

(06:01):
know, and they were nowhere. There was no sign, there was no
nothing. All we know is thatthey were last seen as they were walking
down River Road. According to initialreports, the girls were last seen walking
away from Oscota High School. However, in May of twenty thirteen, a
witness told the police that he hadgiven the girls a ride when he saw

(06:23):
them walking along River Road, whichruns parallel to the Ausable River. He
dropped him off in downtown Oscota. The man had provided this information to the
police years ago. Mark David, the former chief of police of Oscota Township,
believed that the missing girls were victimsof foul play. However, he
does not suspect a man who cameforward, nor does he suspect Pamela's boyfriend

(06:46):
of having any involvement. Chief Davidmoved to Oscota in nineteen sixty and was
only twelve years old when the girlswent missing. He became a police officer
in the early eighties and mentioned thatthe case had been a topic of discussion
for decades. Pamela's sister, Mary, firmly believes that Pamela did not run
away. Although her sister was knownto be a partygoer, she had a

(07:09):
lot to look forward to, havingrecently gotten engaged to her boyfriend. Mary
also suspects foul play in the disappearance. Mary said, I mean, there's
so many rumors there at the bottomof foot dam she was pregnant. Has
also been a rumor that pam andPatty are not together. The girl's disappearance
has been devastating for their families.Pamela's sister returns to their hometown several times

(07:32):
a year and keeps in touch withthe police on the investigation. Pamela's mother,
who moved to Florida, spent herlast days in Michigan before she passed
away without knowing what happened to Pamelaor Patricia that faithful night. Former police
chief David, who retired in Octoberof twenty twenty three, said of the
case, it's solvable. I thinkwe can do it. Anyone with any

(07:56):
information regarding the girl's disappearance has askedto contact their local byebranch. Next the
disappearance of Stephen Damon. On Octoberthirty one, nineteen fifty five, Stephen
Damon's mother, Maryland, told herson to be good while she went inside
an East Meadow, Long Island supermarketblocks from the family's home to buy a

(08:16):
love for bread. She left Stephen, who was not even three years old,
and a seven month old sister,Pamela, who was in a carriage
outside on the sidewalk. When shereturned almost ten minutes later, both children
were gone. After Maryland was takento the hospital to receive treatment for shock,
around two thousand people, including policeofficers, firefighters, Mitchellfield personnel,

(08:41):
boy scouts and volunteers searched tirelessly tofind the two missing children. They eventually
found Stephen's sister Pamela still inside hercarriage a few blocks away. However,
Stephen and his bag of jellybeans werestill missing. Law enforcement drove Maryland around
the area, with the grief strickenmother crying, Stevie, where are you?
Over the loud speaker Over the years, the FBI and police flowed leeds

(09:05):
as far away as Hawaii. DetectiveMatthew Benaro revealed there were multiple reports of
a female hitchhiker carrying a small boywho assembles Stephen in Minneapolis. Another claim
was made of a woman and aboy who looked like Stephen in a tavern
in Kansas. However, despite pursuingall leads, none of them ever led
to any concrete evidence. Detective Benorasaid it was a never ending and fruitless

(09:31):
search. In November nineteen fifty five, a student studying at Queen's College in
New York City wrote three extortion lettersto Stephen's parents. These letters demanded money
in exchange for Stephen's safe return. The first letter asked for three thousand,
the second ten thousand, and thethird fourteen thousand dollars. Stephen's parents tried

(09:52):
to comply with the demands, butlearned that the extortioner had nothing to do
with Steven's presumed abduction. Rumors circulatedthat Stephen he might be the Boy in
the Box, a small boy whowas found de seized inside a cardboard box
in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in nineteenfifty seven. However, the unidentified boy
did not have a healed arm fracturelike Stephen. Additionally, Stephen's footprints taken

(10:15):
when he was a baby did notmatch those of the deceased child. In
two thousand and three, the policecompared the DNA of the unidentified boy with
that of Stephen's sister. The testsconclusively proved that Stephen was not the boy.
After a significant investigative effort, theboy in the box was identified as
Joseph Augustus Zareli. The case gainedmedia attention again in two thousand and nine

(10:39):
when a Michigan man named John Barnesclaimed to be Stephen Dammon, but DNA
test proved otherwise. Stephen's family alwaysremained hopeful that he would be found.
However, little evidence exists regarding Stephen'sfate and his case remains unsolved. Anyone
with any information regarding Steve Even's disappearanceis asked to contact the Nassau County Police

(11:03):
at five one six five seven threeseven zero zero zero. Next the disappearance
of Yung Jong Cindy Song. CindySong, also known as jun Jong Song,
was born in South Korea on Februarytwenty five, nineteen eighty. In
the mid nineteen nineties, Cindy movedto Virginia and stayed with her aunt and

(11:24):
uncle while attending school in the UnitedStates. After graduating from high school,
Cindy was accepted into Pennsylvania State University, where she majored in integrative arts.
Cindy was a twenty one year oldsenior in two thousand and one and was
scheduled to graduate in the spring ofthe following year. On Halloween Night in
two thousand and one, Cindy wentout with friends, like many people of

(11:46):
her age, wearing her bunny costume. She attended a Halloween party at a
bar on West College Avenue. Then, after playing video games with their friends,
they dropped her off at her apartmentcomplex around four am on November one.
Sadly, this was the last timeanyone saw her. Cindy's roommates became
concerned when she did not attend herclasses on November two, and reported her

(12:11):
missing to the authorities. Upon investigation, the police discovered Cindy's Halloween costume and
cell phone, but her purse andwhile it were missing, there were no
signs of a struggle. A pairof false eyelashes, and the backpack she
carried went out with her friends thatnight or left behind, suggesting Cindy successfully
returned to the apartment after being droppedoff that morning. They also found tickets

(12:35):
for an upcoming Britney Spears concert, suggesting she planned to attend. Police Chief
ever J. Connor said no onehas seen or heard from her, since
we have no eye witness accounts ofher leaving the apartment, getting into a
vehicle, going, or being takensomewhere else. People don't simply disappear,
but nobody has come forward, norhave we been able to locate anybody who

(12:56):
knows anything specific. Chief gone addedearly on there was the college atmosphere at
the holiday weekend, but there wassomething about this early on that gave my
officer's costs for alarm. We hada detective assigned to it immediately, and
we had as many as eight officersworking on this in the first week or
so. Bloodhounds were used to trackCindy sent but failed to produce any leads.

(13:22):
A reported sighting of Cindy and Philadelphiaturned out to be fruitless. Later,
a phone call made by someone claimingto be Cindy was determined to be
a prank. Chief Connor said,we have had investigators from around the country
involved in many different ways, includingfour federal agencies, but right now we
need accurate information. A reward oftwenty seven thousand dollars was offered to anyone

(13:45):
with information about Cindy's whereabouts following herdisappearance. An eyewitness came forward to report
that a woman resembling Cindy was forcedwe pulled into a car by an unknown
man in Philadelphia's Chinatown district, whichis nearly two hundred miles away. The
eye witness stated that the man shoutedto leave them alone. However, this
man has never been identified. Intwo thousand and three, Hugo Selensky became

(14:09):
a suspect in Cindy's disappearance after PaulWeakley, an informant, told the police
that Selenski and another man, MichaelKurkowski, abducted a woman and kept her
in a walk in freezer until shewas deceased. Selensky admitted to abducting Cindy,
but told investigators that Kurkowski was theperson responsible for her death and kept
the bunny airs she was wearing asa keepsay. He stated that Cindy was

(14:33):
buried in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania.Investigators found twelve sets of remains at Selenski's
home, but none were positively identifiedas Cindy's. As of twenty twenty three,
Cindy's disappearance remains unsolved. Anyone withinformation as to contact the Ferguson Township
Police at one eight hundred four sevennine zero zero five zero. And lastly,

(14:58):
the disappearance of Christina Bastition. OnOctober twenty ninth, twenty fifteen,
Christina Bostillon, a thirty four yeold high school English teacher, was a
victim of an attempted break in ather apartment in Apple Valley, California.
Christina had bipolar disorder, and thisincident caused her to exhibit increasingly erratic behavior
and a heightened fear of staying alonein her apartment. On October thirty,

(15:24):
Christina decided to take a few daysoff from work. She packed her belongings
and moved into a relative's home.On the morning of October thirty one,
Christina called her mother, Cheryl, from Phoenix, Arizona, to let her
know she was safe. Christina saidshe'd extracted her phone SIM card and ran
it over with her car before drivingfrom Apple Valley to Arizona. Christina was

(15:46):
reported to have attended a Halloween churchevent in Apple Valley, where her mother,
Cheryl, served as a pastor thatafternoon. Later that evening, she
went to her friend's house in AppleValley, but left in the early morning
hour of November one. She tookher dog Coco with her, but left
behind her wallet, id, andglasses. According to her mother, Christina

(16:08):
needs her contacts or glasses to see. The next day, show received a
call inquiring about Christina. The callermentioned that some of Christina's most cherished items
were discovered scattered along Highway two fortyseven near Lucerne Valley. The personal belongings,
including her cell phone, a price, the electric guitar, checks,

(16:30):
artwork, and pictures, appeared tohave been thrown out of a vehicle window
on the road. Christina's silver twodoor Dodge Ram fifteen hundred pickup truck was
found abandoned on a dirt road offHighway sixty two in Morongo Valley, California,
on November two, twenty fifteen, around seven pm. The truck had
scratches and dents on both sides, which appeared to have been from being driven

(16:52):
over rough desert terrain. The truckwas purchased just a week earlier. Back

Still, no other trace of herhas been found. The circumstances of
Christina's disappearance remained vague and her caseremains unsolved. Family believes she may have
