Dall'apertura di Suez (1869) alla rivoluzione di Nasser, migliaia di donne della Goriška, nell'odierna Slovenia, migrarono ad Alessandria d'Egitto per lavorare con varie mansioni presso ricche famiglie di commercianti e inviare il denaro a casa. Salvarono così dalla miseria e dai debiti le loro famiglie. Erano le Aleksandrinke (in italiano, le Alessandrine).

Paola Cicuttini è nata a Cividale del Friuli nel '71. Dopo la laurea presso l'Università di Trieste, ha lavorato per oltre 10 anni all'estero. È traduttrice freelance e scrive per hobby racconti e romanzi, prediligendo le storie che approfondiscono l'universo femminile. Ha frequentato il corso “Scrivere per il teatro” di Scuter.

Questo podcast raccoglie i testi vincitori della prima edizione del concorso “Stories” (marzo 2021). È realizzato dal Teatro TRAM di Napoli in collaborazione con Scuter scuola di scrittura.

The Brothers Ortiz is the story of two brothers–both successful, but in very different ways. Gabe Ortiz becomes a third-highest ranking officer in all of Texas while his younger brother Larry climbs the ranks in Puro Tango Blast, a notorious Texas Prison gang. Gabe doesn’t know all the details of his brother’s nefarious dealings, and he’s made a point not to ask, to protect their relationship. But when Larry is murdered during a home invasion in a rented beach house, Gabe has no choice but to look into what happened that night.
