Speaker 1 (00:00):
An amateur astronomer just captured something striking using his at
home telescope that kind of can just put in your backyard.
A YouTuber known as Dopsonian Power managed to photograph the
three i at lists the interstellar visitor currently passing through
our solar system, and the image shows an object with
an unusual, irregular shape. It doesn't look like a typical

(00:23):
comment that we're used to seeing, and this adds to
the list of strange characteristics surrounding this object. But the
photograph is not the only weird thing mentioned this week.
A connection has emerged between the three eyeat lists and
one of the most famous unexplained signals in history. The
Wow signal of nineteen seventy seven, may have originated from

(00:44):
the same region of space as this mysterious visitor, and
this revelation comes just days ago from Harvard professor Avi Lope,
who calculated that the probability of this alignment being random
is less than one percent. Combined with new data showing
impossible chemistry and unexplained color change, some scientists are now
calling for interstellar protocols to assess what this object actually is.

(01:08):
Here's what we learned this week and why it matters.
As always, I'm here to report the information without bias,
and you can decide what to believe. You can find
the sources in my detailed articles at ufonews dot com
along in the description box below. Hey you followers, I'm
Christina Gomez and welcome to this episode of UFO News Updates.

Speaker 2 (01:27):
Just a few days ago, I realized that back on
August fifteenth, nineteen seventy seven, there was a very famous
flare in the radio radio signal that was given the
name the Wow signal because the observers that recorded it
that the Ohio State University was stunned at how powerful

(01:49):
this signal was and gave it and wrote wow in
the document that the records that the signal, and so
it's called the signal from nineteen seventy seven. And I checked.
It turns out that it came from about the same
direction in the sky as three ayatlas, within nine degrees,

(02:10):
and the chance for a random alignment of the two
directions of that day of nine degrees or so is
a zero point six percent.

Speaker 1 (02:20):
On August fifteenth, nineteen seventy seven, the Big Ear radio
telescope at Ohio State University detected a powerful narrow band
radio signal, lasting just seventy two seconds, and the signal
was so unusual that astronomer wrote WOW in the margin
of the printout. That signal was transmitted at one four

(02:41):
to two zero point four megahertz, the hydrogen line frequency,
and hydrogen is the most abundant element in the universe,
making this frequency a logical choice for any civilization attempting
universal communication. For nearly fifty years, the WOW signal has
remained unexplained. It never repeated, and no natural source has

(03:03):
been conclusively identified. According to Lobes analysis, if the three
I at Liss was located approximately six hundred ae or
astronomical units from Earth back in nineteen seventy seven, which
in AU is a distance from between the Earth and
the Sun, producing the WOW signal would have required about
zero point five to two gigawatts of power, or in

(03:24):
simpler terms, a powerful transmitter on the three eye Atlas
could have produced the WOW signal using nuclear reactor level power,
whereas the same signal from light years away would require
impossibly huge amounts of energy, and the signal was also
blue shifted by about ten kilometers per second, indicating the

(03:45):
source was moving towards US, and while the three I
Alis is currently approaching the Sun at approximately sixty kilometers
per second, an artificial object capable of maneuvering could have
accelerated after detecting something of interest, such as planets orbiting
within our Sun's habitable zone. One possibility Lowe raised is

(04:07):
that the WOW signal wasn't a message at all, but
rather a powerful radar pulse scanning the Solar System for planets.
And despite this correlation, no radio telescope has even been
pointed at the three I at Lists to search for transmission.
At least that the public knows of the WOW signal
connection could be easier to dismiss if the three I

(04:29):
Atlas behaved like a normal comet, but it doesn't. Over
four thousand observations from twoenty and twenty seven observatories worldwide
have revealed something that challenges our understanding of interstellar objects.

Speaker 2 (04:44):
There is no push that is visible on the trajectory
of the object, and that means that it's very massive,
at least one thousand times more massive than the previous one,
which was a comet Borisoviet discovered in twowenty nineteen. Not
only that it's so massive, much more than the previous one.

(05:06):
But there is also not enough rocky material in interstellar
space to deliver such a giant rock into the Inner
Solar System over the past decade.

Speaker 1 (05:17):
We'll explain that.

Speaker 3 (05:18):
Explain that AVI like, so, what do you mean there's
not enough rock? What do you does this mean you don't?
This is even further a reason for you to think
this isn't a natural object.

Speaker 2 (05:30):
Well, yes, because there is limited reservoir of rocky material
per unit volume in interstellar space, and even if you
package all of it in objects of this size or bigger,
then there is just not enough number of objects to
deliver them at random ones per decade to the Inner
Solar System.

Speaker 1 (05:50):
Despite visible outgassing clouds of material streaming off the object,
the three ialysts shows no deviation from a purely gravitatedtional trajectory.
This means it must be extraordinarily massive to resist the
push from its own emissions. At thirty three billion tons,
the three I atlas is comparable in size to the

(06:11):
Manhattan Island, while the Borisaw from twenty nineteen was roughly
the size of a football field, And this creates a
statistical problem if any natural population of objects. Smaller ones
vastly outnumber larger ones. We should have detected dozens of
football field sized interstellar comets before encountering something this massive.

(06:37):
But it gets even more serious. Aviy Lobe has submitted
a white paper to the United Nations calling for a
creation of an international committee to evaluate anomalist interstellar objects.

Speaker 2 (06:48):
I decided to submit a white paper to the United
Nations basically calling for the creation of a committee that
will analyze we know about interstellar objects, objects that come
into the Solar System from outside, similar to three I
atlas that look anomalus because we have to be prepared

(07:10):
for a black Swan event, an event with a small
probability that could change everything for us, and it's really
important to be prepared for that, and currently there is
no international organization. Obviously, alien technology would be a threat
to all humans on Earth. It wouldn't care how we

(07:31):
split the land on this rock that we call our home,
the Earth.

Speaker 1 (07:36):
The object's trajectory is also unusual. It is aligned with
the plane of the planets around our Sun, a configuration
that occurs randomly only about one in five hundred times
for interstellar objects. Each of these objects alone might be coincidental,
but together they form a pattern that demands explanation. Just recently,

(07:59):
Dabsny and Paws captured this image of the Three Eye
Atlas with his telescope. What shape does it look like
to you? The Three Eye at liss is expelling massive
amounts of nickel with almost no iron. According to research
published in Astronomy and Astrophysics, every other comment ever studied
shows nickel and iron in ratios roughly proportional to solar abundances.

(08:23):
This object completely breaks that pattern, The research team concluded,
quote the presence of nickel and iron in this commentary
comma is extremely puzzling. One hypothesis researchers have discussed quietly
is whether this represents waste products or byproducts from active
industrial processes, manufacturing repairs, or maintenance of radiation shielding on

(08:47):
an artificial structure. And as you watch this video by JPL,
the Three Eye Atlas is making the closest approach to
Mars right now.

Speaker 4 (08:56):
Next it's heading towards Mars. It will be closes on
October third, and spacecraft in orbit and on the surface
will try to catch a glimpse. After that, it's on
to our Jupiter, what will our spacecraft see. We'll soon
find out.

Speaker 1 (09:13):
NASA's Mars Reconnaissance orbiter, along with the European Space Agency
and China National Space Agency spacecraft should achieve pixel resolution
of approximately thirty kilometers, potentially enough to resolve surface features
or structural details if they exist. After Mars, the object
continues towards Jupiter before leaving our Solar system entirely unless

(09:36):
maybe it changes course, which there is some evidence that
this object has slightly altered its path.

Speaker 2 (09:42):
Nobody imagines a situation where it might be alien technology,
And that's something that we must entertain. Given that we
launched spacecraft that will exit the Solar System, like Voyager,
for example, and we just did it over the past
fifty years, Imagine if we had them continued the research
and development in science and technology over a period of

(10:06):
a thousand years instead of one hundred years, or over
a period of a million years. And that's some benefit
that and other civilizations might have relative to us.

Speaker 1 (10:17):
At what point do accumulating anomalies require us to seriously
consider artificial origin? And if we determine an interstellar object
is potentially artificial, what should humanity do about it? Let
me know in the comments below. I'm Christiana Gomez and
that is it for today. I will see you again

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
