Our water temperatures are sitting pretty between 72 and 77 degrees - wetsuit optional, but definitely refreshing. The sun is bringing serious heat with a very high UV index, so slather on that sunscreen unless you want to look like a lobster by sunset.
Wind conditions are looking primo with southwest breezes around 10 mph, which should keep things interesting out on the water. Expect partly cloudy skies with a likely chance of scattered showers and a slight possibility of thunderstorms adding some dramatic flair to your beach day.
Tide hunters, listen up! For Jacksonville Beach, you'll want to catch the low tide around 8:50 AM and ride the high tide at 2:49 PM. Fernandina Beach and Vilano Beach have similar rhythms, so plan your beach activities accordingly.
Looking ahead to Monday, things mellow out a bit. Winds will shift to the northwest and then southeast, surf will calm down to 1 to 2 feet, and thunderstorm potential drops to basically zero. Tuesday continues the chill vibe with sunny skies and small waves.
Pro tip: Even though rip current risk is low today, stay alert near jetties, piers, and reefs where unexpected currents can pop up. Safety first, stoke second!
