everybody else. Man, everybody's loving these episodes. Yeah, man, I'm
getting a lot of love behind the scenes. So glad
you could call hose with me on this one.

Speaker 4 (01:19):
Bro.

Speaker 2 (01:19):
We have an amazing guest set up for today.

Speaker 3 (01:22):
Oh yeah, we got a good one. I tend to,
you know, bother this guy a lot, and you know
he tends to jump on nerd and all those other talk.
But this is you, man. I know you're excited to
have him on because it's a it's hard to get
this guy on a lot of times.

Speaker 2 (01:37):
So yeah, man, he's really he's really doing me a
favor with this one. Everyone knows him for the Spurs Talk.
He's Kent's five's leading writer. He's a hefel metal metal.
Let's bring him on in Welcome to the Room. Jeff Garcia,
what's up, dude?

Speaker 4 (01:52):
What can we do that one more time? Ruddy? Please
more or know the power of the dark Side? You know,
I actually have a hat and on the side of
the hat I wear once in a while lose it
says you don't know the power of the dark Side,
and nobody has ever seen they can't figure it out.

(02:14):
I'll wait for the first person to see it, so
hopefully that'll happen.

Speaker 2 (02:18):
Man, do I did intentionally drop something, just like a
flash the camera real quick, you know, try to get
them to catch that. Yo. Jeff checked this out, you know,
Reference Star Wars checked this out, checked this out.

Speaker 4 (02:30):
Hey, what's that, dude? That's the ben Kenobi Is that
the exclusive?

Speaker 3 (02:34):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (02:34):
It's uh, it's the Chase exclusive, black Light, black Light
and whatnot?

Speaker 4 (02:39):
Bro. I approve, I approve, Hey, but sith damn good show, buddy,
I heard a lot of good things about it.

Speaker 2 (02:48):
Appreciate it, brother, you know you probably have to. You
have the best podcast in the game. When it comes
to spurs and whatnot with locked on.

Speaker 4 (02:55):
Thanks for having.

Speaker 2 (02:56):
Thanks for having me on. I mean I really tapped
into the dark side, it seems like because I left
a lot of people unhappy.

Speaker 4 (03:02):
Bro, he did. Yeah, I saw some comments left on
the lowest episode you were. I guess whatever this hap
comes out, I guess it was last week. H man.
This one guy really came at you hard because you
shouldn't have opinion because you're not from San Antonio. What
was the other one? You're not old enough enough?

Speaker 2 (03:20):
Not old enough. That's a new one. That's a new one.
I was like, oh, man, they still think I'm a
baby or some shit. You know, that's that's all cool
with me. I mean, my my favorite insult was he
probably paid to be on.

Speaker 4 (03:32):
Yeah, you know. And I saw and my first thought
was like, Okay, this has gotta be one of your friends.
That's my that was my gut reaction was like, it's
gotta be one of his boys around. And then I
saw you react. I said, oh, it's not one of
his friends. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (03:45):
I was like, no, people, people are too emotional, but
it is what it is. I mean, that's enough about me.
Let's get to the nitty gree let's talk about Jeff Garcia.
I know you're probably overall the Spurs talk bro. I
know people would have you on that's all they ask
you about. But how do you what do you say?
We talked about some uh, some of your other adventures.

(04:07):
You know, you're your hosts. Yeah, you're hosting all these
different comic cons. I mean you got Alamo com Big
City what is it? A Big City count down? Oh?

Speaker 4 (04:16):
Man, Yeah, there's there's so many. There's a there's Big Texas,
There's River Walk Anime, there's the Big Winter one is
Antonio got Kawa Khan. Now Rudy's been to these before,
but it says you ever been to one? This is
one you have to bring your eight plus plus game
in the world of anime. I mean this is like

(04:38):
deep dive stuff. I mean even Rudy's families that have
gone there, they tested my knowledge and I'm like, I'm stumped.
I'm like, I don't know. But that's a serious one.
But it's pretty big in the winter. And then the
new one is the Big Texas Horror or Terror Con,
I should say. So that was fun. I I survived
Sitting next to Michael Myers sith.

Speaker 2 (04:58):
Man, how that field? How big is he in person?

Speaker 4 (05:03):
He's a tall dude, but he's not like jacked, you know.
Interesting enough, he actually played a conan, the barbarian in
some of his earlier work as kind of like not
not obviously not Arnold, but you know, I think in
that realm might before Arnold came on the scene, like
another type of like B movie or something like that.

(05:25):
So he did that, and but he was just so
down to earth. And I know you're probably gonna touch
on this later, but so com and asked him about
how days in shape for the role. It was a
physical role, you know, and he's not old, but you know,
the years are trying to creep up on him. He's
like in his sixties. And one thing that took away

(05:47):
from that was he said when he goes to the gym,
it's the mindset. He says, if you train like an
old man, you're gonna look like an old man. If
you trained like a young guy, you're gonna look like
a young guy. I remember sitting there with them Elias
and like this, I was like I should write this down.
I mean, it is awesome. I mean, that was just awesome.
And then but overall, I mean these cons have been

(06:09):
there's sometimes that depend. Lots of times I do a
con and then like when I get back, it's like
you go back to reality. It's such a weird shift
because you're sitting like a Myers, You're sitting You're sitting
with Juliet Lewis, You're sitting with the entire freaking cast
of Cobra Kai and then the O G movie actors,

(06:30):
and then you go back to work on one day
and it's like, Hi, it's hard to like get out
of it.

Speaker 3 (06:35):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (06:36):
The coumdown is what they call it, right, the come down, yea,
the cooling off period. I can't imagine. I imagine sitting
next to them probably gives you like an adrenaline rush,
especially if it's you know, someone not that you idolize
or say that you admire.

Speaker 4 (06:50):
You know, oh you mentioned ye yeah, yeah, the one there.
I try not to bamboy out, but I there's one
I just told the guests. I said, I'm fanboy right now.
And that was that was Danny Trey Home. Yeah, I
told him right when he sat down with me, I said,

(07:11):
you know, everybody's looking at me on the stage. And
I look at him, my grab my microphone and I
just tell him, I go, look, I'm gonna be honest.
You know, I'm fanboy now right now. And he starts laughing.
And then I looked at the crowd and I tell
the crowd, Hey, don't tell the organizers of the event,
because I'm not supposed to do this, you know. And
then I look back and I'm like, I can't help it.
So he's seen me like kind of be like, oh
my god, it's freaking you man. It's Dustal Dawn, It's

(07:35):
Predator all that stuff. And the boy he was, remember
he was a voice actor for King the King of
the Hill. I think he played Enrique. I remember he
was the voice actor for Baane and then he was
in the Book of Boba Fet so you see, I'm
telling I was like, oh my god, you're in the
Book of Boba Feed and and and you're in Predator
and this and that. And then he kind of calms

(07:55):
me down. He puts his hand down my hand because
I'm gonna say it. He said, it's okay, it's just
have some fun. I'm just staring at like, oh my god,
he's touching to me. Yeah, that one I found out
fan boid out. The second one, I well, I should
say maybe the one that I fan boyed out most
was actually meeting Ralph Machio and oh really helped me out.

(08:17):
What's the other guy's name, William Zaka. Yeah, seeing those
two guys, the original Johnny Lawrence and Daniel LaRusso that
was Yeah, that one was was weird because first of all,
you grew I grew up watching these guys. And then
then when I when they go and sit down, I
wanted to sit with the o G cast and they

(08:38):
ended up taking the seats far at the end of
the stage and I'm sitting next to the younger generation
and next to me is barn Maria, so he's sitting
right next to me. Yeah, yeah, we'll be So we're
all sitting there and I ran out of there's no
more seats and it was like, I think, Rudy, did
you go to that one? But you were to that one, right, Yeah,

(09:00):
so really got to witness what happened after that. So
everybody gets introduced it right, and I'm still standing on
the stage and I look around and go, oh, there's
no word for me to sit. So then she total
looks at the crowd, looks at me, and he starts
slapping his lap and so every you can just sit
right here, sit on top of my lap. IM like, no,
it's okay. I'm a fan, but I ain't gonna go
that far, you know.

Speaker 1 (09:21):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (09:21):
Yeah. So eventually they just brought out another chair. I
think that's what they did, or they just dance somehow,
and then I sat down and then kind of some
other fun things. You know, I never revealed before seeing
a boy, Ron Peerlman taking a nap backstage, you know,
before he's all old. He took a nap right in
front of everybody, snoring and everything. And then it was

(09:43):
the other thing during that kind of with Ron Pearlman,
he was part of the oh my god saying that Ryan,
thank you. So I'm there talking with Jack and and
all the crew, you know, we're all there with me,
and then Ron pearl sitting next to me. Well. As
the host, I usually tend to do a little giveaways

(10:05):
at the end of the panel. It is from me
to the fans for coming out. So I had it
next to me and it was like a dragon ball
z thing, right and he kind of he picked it
up and during the whole con well, the panel, he's
just trying to impress me with his knowledge. He goes, hey,
I know who that is. So as his microphones down,
it's like, I know who that is, he picks that

(10:25):
go coul right, I go, yes, go cool Ron Man.
It's a good one. Didn't he fight this guy and
the like you see story? Yeah, he gave me the
back story. And while the freaking sons Anakary panel was
going on, and then I kind of snap back to it,
we go back to the audience and we just feel
those questions and those falled out. Yeah. Have I ran

(10:49):
into some diva moments with actors? Sure, there's let's let's
hear there is one that shall be up. But there
was one that got a little diva and scolded a
fan for being a fan and taking pictures during the panel.
I'm not kidding. Stop the panel with me pointing the

(11:11):
person out and goes, what are you doing? Don't take
your pictures? And we all thought they were just playing
around and he's like he's liked no pictures, no pictures right?
Another fan? Does it? Stop the panel? What did I
just say a little while ago? Just going on and
on and on. He even scolded the official uh comic

(11:32):
con videographer that's there to document everything.

Speaker 2 (11:35):
And that's yeah, and then.

Speaker 4 (11:40):
Yeah, I mean fans are there to see you know
you you're there. You know he's to my knowledge that
he's never been invited back. He was a hand ship.

Speaker 2 (11:48):
I don't I don't blame them, bro. I mean the
fans come out, they travel from all over, you know,
just to right then they pay. They put a pretty
pedal penny for those panel.

Speaker 4 (11:57):
Do they do they ship? I mean, you got you
got this other things one of the one of the
against the coolest thing I'd done, and it was not
by design or anything. So they brought all the original
hosts of Blues Clues right from the very first iteration
to the last one. Right, it was the big deal.

(12:18):
The panel was packed and everything, right, I do my thing,
and then you know, sign for fan questions. And one
fan went up there and the microphone says, hey, you know,
I don't get happen this opportunity to be a game before.
But I got all three of the original hosts on stage.
Apparently I don't have kids, so I don't know if
there was a particular Blues Clues song that was very

(12:40):
popular with babies, and like they all sang it on
every every season, I guess. So they start singing it, right,
So I'm on the couch and I kind of like
screwed over. Okay, that's their thing. I'm gonna let them
sing their song. Well, a third host, so the most
recent host, he grabs my arm, pulls me in. So
there's videos somewhere he's singing a blues clue song with

(13:01):
the original host online somewhere. I don't know the word,
sith rudy. I don't know the words. So on the
microphone you just hear me saying, like, hits a blue
dog happy, you know, I don't know what to say.

Speaker 2 (13:13):
He's hitting the last word of every life. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (13:16):
Yeah, So there's video out there somewhere. Some fan that
went out there has it on video of you see
the guy he just they hatch over and they go, no,
join us, and they think I know the lyrics. I
don't know the lyrics.

Speaker 2 (13:30):
So that was a fun make a brother man.

Speaker 4 (13:34):
I was faking it, and I think one of the
most badass things I did, and perhaps the first time
that I actually got nervous. It was a combination of
nerves and fandalism. And that was when I hosted the
Mandalorian panel. That one, I mean, you're talking about Carl Weathers.

(13:54):
You're talking about the guy who plays the big Jack
Mando with a with a big big for the gun
the Way of Arrival Roman, Yeah, him, and then the
Armorer so Rob. And then I remember meeting Carl Weathers
and this is not a week before he passed away,

(14:15):
and I have many pictures of me with him doing selfie,
so they're kind of treasured. So he's a big Lakers fan,
huge Lakers fan, and I got him to say ghost
for his go reluctantly. He hated it. He did not
want to do it, but the fans were egging him on.
And then he said he's like, I guess he goes
see when ghos fers go and he went on crazy

(14:37):
about that one was that we did something different. We did,
you know, a little bit of Q and A, but
all of us had agreed beforehand that we're going to
have a contest like and of course leave it to
Carl Weathers. He goes, I don't want to push up contests.
Whoever could do the most push ups in their cosplay.
One thing I forgot what it was, but I was
just sitting there like, oh my god, I got a

(15:00):
Mando panel here, I got the boy. I had the
voice actor of Anakin Skywalker and the Silka Tano. One time,
I was able to get the voice actors for Goku
and Vegeta to do an prompt to it and Good
argue over the Antonio Breakfast Taco and like, uh, they're

(15:20):
going back just on the spot. They just turned it on,
and you know, you you go go. Obviously always he's
trying to get it. Vegeta is getting competitive. So there's
in the in the in the back and forth arguing
over the last Antonio Breakfast taco, pickering pickery and Vicktory victory.
She just stops it. And imagine these guys are like

(15:41):
in their voice so it's sound. I mean, it feels
like I'm sitting next to Brigitta and Goku in real
life and the talco's gone and then realizes that TN
stole it, So no, no, I'm just stole it. That
I'm just stole it during their Vickery. Yes, so it fun.
I mean that's just the tip of the iceberg. I

(16:03):
mean from you know, with these cons have allowed me
to experience, and you know, it just fell on my lap.
It would really how it all started. It just fell
on my lap. I was. I think there's no secret.
I think all of San Antonio knows that I'm a
big nerd. I don't hide it. I'm very open about
it and I love it. So for those that don't

(16:24):
follow me on x Monday through Friday, I start off
the day with some sort of like cool nerdy video,
whether it's you know, Anakin and Lord Mall Friday or whatever,
something like that, you know from Superman. Whatever, it's nerdy
and it's cool and it's fun. Then like you go
up there. So I was doing that for a long
time and then one con eventually just said, hey, wait

(16:46):
a minute, he goes, you're okay. They were like, you're okay,
just being a nerd like that, geeking out every day,
and went yeah, they go, we gotta we got a
part for you. And then that's how it all started.
And I've been doing this since Oh my god, I
was still in New York City at the time. I
would fly from New York to host these things. I
think I'm going to guess six seven years now. And

(17:07):
then one thing led to another. Then another con reps
were there. There s in hey can you do hours?
Another ones there, hey can you do hours? And slowly,
little by little, you know, that's all I have. So
I have like four cons that I host throughout the year. Now.
Now there's some cons that are hard to get, like
to be an MC like in their San Japan. I've

(17:28):
tried with them and it's like talking to a wall.
They don't listen. They don't listen. I can't do their
booth at San Japan. Introduced myself and I gotta oh.
They're just like, no, we're good.

Speaker 3 (17:43):
Man.

Speaker 2 (17:43):
I would have would have whipped out your portfolio, you know,
your photo ops and whatnot. You know, yeah what I do.
How are you not going to have me on?

Speaker 4 (17:52):
Yeah I do, Yeah, yeah, that's what I do. And
then they were like no. Now there are some cons
that I have declined because they're not for kids. Okay,
there's some there's some risk a cons that are very underground.
Let's just say people are like naked throughout the entire con.

Speaker 2 (18:15):
I know, I know a couple of sosios that are
ready to host that if you want to give.

Speaker 4 (18:21):
One's on Hey, hey, hey, sid once one's on right now,
his name is really competent. He'll do that one.

Speaker 3 (18:27):
The day.

Speaker 2 (18:28):
Man. No, that's the rate at r sports star down there.
He ain't afraid of nothing but Rudy.

Speaker 3 (18:34):
No, definitely, not especially man No, but give it. I'm
gonna give you a quick just a quick thing on
Jeff's announcing sith.

Speaker 2 (18:43):
No.

Speaker 3 (18:43):
Not a lot of people know this. I think the
first con that Jeff was supposed to be doing in
San Antonio, I literally got a phone call from Jeff saying,
I need your help. I may not make it to
this con. Yeah, I need you to be on stand
by the all these panels. Now, keep in mind, I
know zero about a lot of the anime stuff coming out.

(19:06):
So he's like, I won't know till Friday or Thursday late, yeah,
till like I'm Monday morning. I get the call, and
I'm that whole week I am researching everything about the
panels because I figured I'm probably gonna have to host
these panels because he won't be able to make it
in town and time. And I was shitting bricks man

(19:28):
left and right.

Speaker 2 (19:29):
But I know that was kicking pressure.

Speaker 3 (19:33):
I mean I was like, I can handle it, but
this leads to something that I wanted to ask Jeff,
and You're gonna kind of like this. That was the
first time Jeff ever met and talked to Johnny Youngbosh.
Now I bring him up because there's an evolution to
Jeff and Johnny from button heads to buddies. Now. I

(19:58):
wanted to talk a little bit about back because it's
crazy how it was. Man. I remember just telling like
Johnny was kind of rude, and you know, I just
didn't really open up. The next time I talked to
him and Johnny was in town. It's like, hey, he's
like friends of mine, like we're good buddies and stuff.
But that was like the evolution of y right there.

Speaker 4 (20:19):
Yeah, yeah, Johnny Young, you know, one of the original
power and he started off, you know, well one of
my first times doing this. You know, he it's like
kind of like being he was kind of like media
a little bit, but not to that. But it was
very light like he would kind of be like pop

(20:42):
to start, but then he'd be like, Okay, well I
answer the question. But I didn't know. I get that
was just a huge justever he is. But I took
it like, like I'm talking. I felt like, so I'm
making this up, so I'll be like, you know, that'd
be so oh Johnny, Yeah, you know the physicality of

(21:02):
playing you know, a ranger, you ready for that, you know,
tell us about that process, you know, yeah, you got
no choice, right, And then they just get quiet and
I'm like, you know, like, oh my god, he's gonna
be one of those. So then another lap around, you know,
go back to him. Hell, Johnny, did you take from

(21:23):
the set you used to have the original helmet? Do
you have to tell you if I stole something? And
then it just be and then uh. Then afterwards though,
Madi he's like, oh buddy, He's like, hey, that was
a good one. I'm like, what the fuck does that happened?
You know, what's going on here? You know, what are
we doing? Then the next con is just happen to

(21:44):
be back to back, so the same thing, but this
time now he's being a little snarky, but now he's
answering it, you know. So it was almost like now
I run into him at con and he's not great.
Padel was like, hey, man, what's going on? What's up?
You know, he goes, you know, it's a shame. I'm

(22:05):
leaving tonight, you know, otherwise next time dinner, just week
a very deal. Uh, it's just surreal that you get to.
I mean, a couple of weeks ago, I sat next
to an Academy Award winning actress mirrors orbno, yeah, oh
my god, like and then it's few, it's you, it's

(22:28):
it's mimic. So but now you kind of like, I
allow those under my belt now and I think the
best there's no doesn't take a genius. They're just people,
you know, you just I hang out with him, I
talk to them, you know, like Johnny is the best one.
Johnny's cool, sees me, big old bro, hug everything, you know,

(22:51):
Michael Myer on day two of the kind of that
it was day one. Then I just seeing and then
you see them and they'll stop me. They'll be like, hey, yeah,
what's uping man, Oh hey, what's going on? You know?
I did like, okay, cool, so but under fun and

(23:16):
I'm so glad. I gotta have that in my life. Well,
you know, I was absorbed as long as I can,
but I haven't have this thing. I was going through
myself phone the other day. I was like, oh my god,
I got all these pictures from years and years in there.
I want to print them out and like put them
in a photo album or maybe like a big poster
of it. So whenever you know, we're about to cash

(23:40):
my chips in and people look back at hey, who
is this right? Look at this?

Speaker 2 (23:44):
You know, go ahead of go ahead and flex on everyone. Yeah, bro,
that's that's like a NERD's dream to be able to
host a con of any sorts. Uh, and I mean
any sorts on this end, even those adult ones you're
speaking of.

Speaker 4 (23:59):
But uh yeah, so so they don't have movie stars
then it's just it's just the very interesting cosplay contest.
They have a lot there.

Speaker 2 (24:11):
Oh okay, okay, I'm reading what. I'm picking up what
you're putting down. Brother, But you mentioned you mentioned.

Speaker 4 (24:18):
A hey, hey, can you hear me?

Speaker 2 (24:23):
I think you're breaking up a bit, bro.

Speaker 3 (24:28):
Really yeah you're able to hear?

Speaker 4 (24:33):
Yeah? Okay, you want to write a note refresh on
my end, because on my end, you guys are like
seriously delayed.

Speaker 3 (24:48):
Okay, can you hear us?

Speaker 2 (24:49):
Now?

Speaker 4 (24:53):
Yeah, I'm gonna do.

Speaker 2 (24:56):
All right. Okay, I could always edit this nobody.

Speaker 3 (25:03):
Uh, there's a first for everything to edit anything. But
I got a whole weekend to figure it out.

Speaker 2 (25:10):
So hey, if not, who fuck it? Bro? This this
this show is as raw as it gets. You know,
they're gonna see us power through this stuff.

Speaker 4 (25:18):
Okay, okay, Yeah that's a little better. All right? Yeah, yeah,
it was worse and worse and worse and worse, like like,
oh no, I don't keep up now, all right? See,
So well I guess we'll pick it up at the ginoun.

Speaker 2 (25:34):
Yeah, well we'll get past the Cochino con. So you
just finished covering all your all your cons rights a
couple Yeah, you listed a couple of your of your
favorite guests, right, you mentioned you mentioned Karate Kid. What
I have a conspiracy theory for you, a movie conspiracy theory.
What side are you on? Who was the actual villain

(25:56):
in the karate was it? Was it Daniel LaRusso or
was it Johnny Lawrence?

Speaker 4 (26:01):
Hmmm?

Speaker 2 (26:02):
I mean let me get your take, and then you know,
you know what.

Speaker 4 (26:06):
Villain? I think? Man? Mmmmmm? That so's tough. I can
see both sides, and I get both sides, you know,
from the different perspectives, you know, Johnny Lawrence, Yeah, it
makes sense. Here's a guy that's come to your town
and already warmed up your chick. I get that. Uh

(26:28):
you know they didn't, didn't you, Dan didn't didn't he
dump water on him in the bathroom? I think something
like that.

Speaker 2 (26:35):
Yeah, that was so that was like halfway through the
flick after like they had already called their peace or whatever.
So he's still instigating like an asshole, bro.

Speaker 4 (26:44):
But hey, let me let me guess Elias is gonna
go with Daniel LaRusso.

Speaker 2 (26:49):
Right, Oh for sure, bro. Let me tell you, like
you said, you're not gonna show up to my hometown.
You're not gonna get involved in mine and my girls'
relationship problems. He delivered. Really, he hits Johnny in the
face and expects not to get hit back, not knowing
that Johnny Lawrence is a three time champ or whatever.
He was all Valley champ at the time.

Speaker 4 (27:10):
Bro.

Speaker 2 (27:10):
And then he's just instigating from the beginning of the
film till the end, like he's just he's just a gnat,
And yeah, he's he's a bug, bro. But the true villain,
in my opinion, would have to be Larusso's mom, because
how are you gonna let your boy just hang out
with a random maintenance dude and not check in on him.
You know, that was pretty weird.

Speaker 4 (27:30):
I was gonna go with I was gonna go with Crease.

Speaker 2 (27:36):
Oh that guy's that guy is a fucking nutcase.

Speaker 4 (27:39):
Yeah, but pick one man. I think I leaned towards
LaRusso as not being the villain, uh, because I think
this all could have been resolved with it just a
conversation like like, let's just say, like you were single,
Sith and you had a lady, and like, I didn't know,
I'm the new guy and I just see a hot chick.

(28:01):
I'm like, okay, what's good up? You go? Hey, bro,
I know you're new here, but that's my that's my lady.
You know. Oh my bad, you know sorry, you know,
everybody could have worked it out.

Speaker 2 (28:10):
But if I'm not mistaken, Johnny tried that, bro, and
he he kind of grabbed the Yeah, he grabbed the
radio and he just let go and LaRusso fell over
and he took it as a as like the first
hit in my and that's not what it is, broh.
Danny Daniel had to do is get his ass up,
say my bad, this is in my battle. It is
what it is. When he's just a cocky kid from

(28:30):
Merocita and he got his. He that got his give
them chick it to them. And can we talk about
the crane kick? How is that unblockable? All you had
to do was take one fucking step to the left
or to the right. You could have just reached out
caught that foot. Happens all the time in UFC. Granted
that it's a movie, but that shit's not.

Speaker 4 (28:48):
Yeah, hey, hey, Rudy, how come Lawrence keeps on repeating
over it was an illegal move? Illegal move? He says
that a couple of times about the series, Well, the
recent series Netflix's when they recounted, I don't see why
it's illegal. That was, Hey, it's karate, you go for it.

Speaker 3 (29:07):
But well, see, I don't know. I'm not a karate
my I can barely kick past my knee. So is
it because it's a straight kick to the nose?

Speaker 2 (29:19):
Well, I know, because they straight up cold cut each
other in the face too.

Speaker 4 (29:22):
Yeah, Well, I don't I don't get what they never
explained what I like the information of why Laurence says
it's an illegal move? Right. Rich said, he said that
a few times it was an illegal.

Speaker 2 (29:34):
Throughout throughout Cobra Kai. Yeah, and Daniel. Daniel just tells
him to let it go multiple times.

Speaker 3 (29:41):
So Daniel's a cheater.

Speaker 2 (29:43):
Bro, He's the villain and the whole thing. I mean,
Cobra Kai was a combing of age story for Johnny Lawrence.
It's his redemption arca Ali.

Speaker 3 (29:52):
Couldn't Ali be one of the villains.

Speaker 4 (29:54):
Or maybe Ali's a villain man? She didn't. She could
have got the fire out quick.

Speaker 3 (30:00):
She played both sides. I mean, while she was, you know,
seeing Daniel, she was probably still sleeping with Johnny. I mean,
it's all her fault.

Speaker 4 (30:08):
Hey, at least the question is really like, in that situation,
then if you know your girl is the one that's
instigating it, do you kind of give a pass to
the guy. He's a stranger, he's not like a bro,
he's not a family members, not a friend. Do you
kind of say, like, all right, no, I go I
get it. You know a hot chick is coming on

(30:28):
to you. Yeah, I would do it too, So we're good,
and I'm gonna take care of business with my lady first.
Let's talk this out. Isn't that kind of situation, like
if you don't know the guy, you have no connection
to him. He's just a random guy. Can you'd be like, yeah,
maybe the real villain is my girl.

Speaker 3 (30:45):
I mean, I would say so possibly. I mean, for
all we know, Daniel and Johnny are fighting, and I
don't know Dutch or Bobby or tapping Alley on the side.
What's going on?

Speaker 2 (30:57):
Broom? Women in the eighties and seventies ruined everything, bro,
And that's not even my generation. You know who was
another one who caused so much fucking problems? Pad May
from Star Wars. Jeff, do you agree or disagree? He
she groomed a kid who grew up not knowing how
to love correctly because all he knew was one person.

(31:18):
She groomed him from the age of twelve, and look
what he did. He destroyed galaxies, murdering a whole race.

Speaker 4 (31:28):
Or I don't know the power of you know what?

Speaker 2 (31:30):
So you don't know the power of Padme. We'll just
keep it at that. Yeah, but uh, Jeff, if you
were in the Star Wars universe, would you be a
Sith or would you be a Jedi?

Speaker 4 (31:41):
And that's a good question. That's a good question because
I do think there's some certain things that are wrong
with the Jedi. You know they they're too at least well,
hell about this. In the Yoda era when he was
in charge, he just went to by the book to
you to buy the book. H you know, you know,

(32:03):
no relationships, you can't love. It wasn't material things or nothing.

Speaker 2 (32:09):
No material things. Yeah, no fear, no fear.

Speaker 4 (32:13):
Here nothing, you know, just kind of like like numb,
I guess, numb to everything. You know. Imagine having an
instructor tell you, hey, yes, sorry, your mom's gonna die,
but you gotta let it go.

Speaker 2 (32:25):
Yeah, but don't react to That's what I tell everyone.

Speaker 4 (32:27):
Don't react to it.

Speaker 2 (32:29):
And again, had every right to crash out. Bro, he
saw his mom die in front of him. He just
wanted to prevent his girl from doing the same. And
here we are, here's everyone telling him that, you know,
let it go. People are immense to die. And if
I'm not mistaken, Yoda tells them, you need to learn
to let it go that person. If that person dies,
it dies, man, won there's a way to save someone.

(32:51):
Then by all means, figure it the fuck out.

Speaker 4 (32:53):
If they mean a lot, because because I was asked
this question like years ago, they said, okay, what if
you're loke and you get the vision and of all
your your boys and your sister. You know, your crew
is about to get smoked.

Speaker 3 (33:05):
You know.

Speaker 4 (33:06):
Yeah, he probably would do the same thing, like, yeah,
I gotta cut this training sester short. I gotta go
help them. You know, my sister's in trouble. You know,
my boys in trouble. Chew, he's in trouble. You know. Yeah,
I gotta go, so I get it, you know, but
then I don't get the sith.

Speaker 2 (33:24):
All.

Speaker 4 (33:24):
Just calm it down a bit, guys, Just chill, you know,
just relax here, you know, like you don't have to
wild out so quickly. You don't have to, you know,
I guess go back to strike first, strike hard, you know,
you just chill. If I would pick the the older Jedis,

(33:44):
I would be one of those, because if you go back,
they're still I mean really, I think they're still body
armored and they're ready, they're ready to rock, you know.
If yeah, yeah, there.

Speaker 2 (33:55):
Were there were actually there were more of a military
military men back then. Yeah, a post these whack ass
and philosophers and teachers and whatnot. The Old Republic. They
were just kind of you know, you want to play
game and find out I'm gonna whip out this light
save Yeah, whatever happens happened.

Speaker 4 (34:12):
Yeah, they're they're there. They kind of they knew, you know,
and uh, you know, and I think I would lean
towards the Old Republic there. One day we're gonna get
a night to the movie one day. One day we
got close though with Acolyte. We got what do we see?
We saw Yeah, at the tail end of their reign, right,

(34:35):
that's where we're catching it, like a right at the
end of their rain. Yeah, Rudy, why why would why
were the Jedi accolate? Like their sabers were like oh
that you notice that they were like they're like PBC
pipes just huge. They weren't like sleep down and everything.
They were just very basic looking. It was just like

(34:56):
a tube and that was it.

Speaker 2 (34:58):
Yeah. I don't know. I mean, I guess like during
the Alcolyte, like I said, it was more military base,
so they were more uniform. If you saw even their
their outfits, their Jedi robes and all that were all
similar posts to nowadays you had Obi wan kenobi and
rocking the opposite of whatever kit fisto. I was gonna say,

(35:20):
Samuel Jackson, Mason Windu. I'm calling him by the Vice
oction name.

Speaker 4 (35:26):
Imagine, imagine, imagine Mace in the Old Republic Jedi Crew, Man.

Speaker 2 (35:32):
Man Macey the Old Republic Crew. We'd we'd probably get
a little Samuel Jackson action there. He's like, bow out
the Jedi motherfucker.

Speaker 4 (35:40):
Well, I love it back and watch band the Sith
He'll he tells Anakin flat out. I think basically that's
I don't trust you like this total I don't.

Speaker 2 (35:51):
Trust like, make me, make me trust.

Speaker 4 (35:53):
Make me, make me trust. You told them to his base,
Yeah you're good, but you're not gonna be part of
the crew. And then it's like, dang, yeah he wasn't
playing man. They had didn't listen, did they really? They
just didn't listened.

Speaker 3 (36:08):
No, they never did. They never do listen, man, that's
the problem.

Speaker 2 (36:11):
So so Rudy Jeff. Jeff has gotten all my case
a couple of times because I told him I haven't
seen that Transformers movie from h When is it? When
is it from animated?

Speaker 4 (36:22):
Eighty six?

Speaker 2 (36:24):
Eighty six?

Speaker 4 (36:24):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (36:25):
God, he tried, was talking to me about it one time.
I was like, bro, I don't know what the hell
are you talking about But go ahead and cook, Jeff,
because that's all you bring it up. Because I have
a question from our boy Mike beaz Bear. Jeff. He
asked if you could, if you could voice any Transformer,
Autobot or or Receptacon, which which vehicle or alien would

(36:47):
you choose to voice?

Speaker 4 (36:49):
You know, if I could do Depticon's first out a
cartoon voice, not movie voice, but the car cartoye of
gal the Galvatron was off. It felt high, pitchy and whiney.
What leader Leonard Nimoy did in the movie pretty good,
but when they transitioned to his character to the cartoon series,

(37:10):
it was very whiney, and I never I never loved
voice actor or the voice direction they went with Galvatron.
So I would try to redo Gavaltron, but making it
similar to what Lenn Mooy did. I get what they
were trying to do because and Rudy, I think you
noticed O G. Megatron, that boy was more of a general.

(37:33):
He was more of a military guy. Galvatron was more
of a royalty, you know, and he look at look
at his helmet. It was basically a crown. Megatron had
a military helm. So I kind of would have loved
to blend the two right there. But if I could

(37:54):
go back and fix it, Gavaltron voice just never in
the cart It's just never in a never really now
for an robot. Let's see, I'm gonna mess with Prime
because that voice is iconic. You don't mess with iconic.

Speaker 2 (38:11):
You don't like wanting to change Vader's voice.

Speaker 4 (38:13):
Bro, you don't, Yeah, you don't, don't change stars voice.
You don't change sound Wave's voice. You okay? With Shockwave, Rudy,
I mean, is that the iconic Shockways voices iconic?

Speaker 3 (38:27):
So there's a few I was thinking about. Shockwave is
one of them. I'm gonna throw Ultra Magnets in there
with Robert Stack in the movie. Yeah, and then as
great of a person as Judd Nelson is, I mean,
Rodo miss Ultra Magneus and then Shockwave. They all sound off,
but they all sound very unintimidated. So if I had

(38:50):
to pick, you know, characters, I would have probably redone
all three of those. But yeah, Shockwave, who was supposed
to be one of the most you know, iconic and
you know, big bad Decepticon. He he had a voice
like a librarian. I'm like, I mean.

Speaker 4 (39:09):
Oh wait, I got it. I got it. I think
if I can do it, though I agree what they
wanted to do, I could redo it, though I would
revoice pop Utron's voice because he was very like always
in a fight, he would just think everything out. You know,
he'd be like, oh, I'm fighting Syphilias, okay, and before

(39:30):
I throw my first punches, the air is going to
the direction if I apply this for he's getting spot
kicked the whole time. He goes, okay, if I use
this amount of torque in my hand, you know, you're
in a fight, and then I put it here, you know,
then he's getting this. It's getting cooked. I think I
would change that one a little bit more. Would have
gone opposite, you know, because the techno bots they were

(39:53):
very like when they were individual, they were kind of
like just a crew, just just a bunch of boys.
But he came together like stiff Robot, like the traditional
like I am going to overthink everything. So I would
love to kept that vibe with with tom py Trump,
just because a compupron smart just and I think that

(40:16):
would have been good the way, uh Rudy, did you
know this? Jen Nelson Rebody's replayed the voice of hot
Rod in the cartoon series.

Speaker 3 (40:26):
Yeah, yeah, I do remember he.

Speaker 4 (40:29):
Came well not not like years after Generation one was
over when they kind of did the revivals, Jen Nelson
came back for hot for hot Rod. I think, I
don't know about Rotomus, but he did come back for
a hot Rod. But and then again, you're just you
look back at the you look at Transformers one, and
I get this questions of that, like, oh, you think

(40:49):
Transformer one is good. I think it's great, real good.
But it's just eighty six. There was something special about
eighty six. Eighty six. You know, we we were we
were taught death, we were to war, we were taught oh,
cartoons don't cartoons don't end with everybody happy at you know,
every episode. You know, this was more like like hey, yeah,

(41:17):
that that just really woke your woke woke us up
as kids, like, man, did we just see Ratchet dyed?
Did we just see spoiler?

Speaker 2 (41:28):
Yeah? Come on, bro, go ahead, cook cook.

Speaker 4 (41:32):
X Y x Y and Z character getting smoked that
you grew up with, and you're like, what the And
there was a big one, you know, and then and
by the way, uh Rudy I think you agree. You know,
Megatron won the fight, right, won the fight?

Speaker 2 (41:48):
Oh I heard Optimus Prime get taxed, all right, the people.

Speaker 4 (41:52):
Still today he did not take the l because he
got in. I think Megatron overall won the fight.

Speaker 3 (42:03):
Yeah, I mean the autobots basically pulled to Tom Brady
and cheated a little bit there.

Speaker 4 (42:08):
So well here here, here's the thing. Here's the thing.
You're like m M A and I I think you're
a fan of M A two. If you go if
if you watch the fight, who lands the most significant strikes?

Speaker 3 (42:23):
Rudy Megatron.

Speaker 4 (42:26):
He landed the most significant strikes. Not have to say
that Prime didn't get his his smokes in, but the
dead glows bigger hits Megatron delivered and Megatron didn't hold back.
Prime is like, okay, I'm gonna give you a no
and just take care of business. But a man again,

(42:48):
then if he I can't wait till you see the fight.
You can make a decision who won who really.

Speaker 2 (42:54):
I'll be hitting you up with my opinion though, I'll
check out the fight itself.

Speaker 4 (42:57):
You just go on YouTube. I was gonna say the
quick yeah you're good, and then you'll be able to
figure it out. From there.

Speaker 2 (43:04):
So, uh so, Jeff, I gotta let's hit a speed rum, bro.
I have a couple of nerd this this or that,
similar to your new to your new segment on the
similar to virus. So all right, so we're gonna we're
gonna give you two options and you that's it. You're
just gonna give us a quick explanation. Why why?

Speaker 4 (43:23):
Right?

Speaker 2 (43:24):
So back to the future or the Karate Kid. What's
better trilogy? What's what? What's the better trilogy?

Speaker 4 (43:38):
Man, I'm gonna go karate again?

Speaker 2 (43:44):
And why?

Speaker 4 (43:46):
And why? Because it seems it lasted longer, the longerviy
of it lasted.

Speaker 2 (43:50):
Then all right, Rocky Rocky three or Rocky four Club
or Lang or or Draco Rogo.

Speaker 4 (44:01):
Mmmmmmm Rocky three, go back and watch that. That's a
lot of heavy stuff. You got. You have the death
of your mentor you got him falling, you got t Yeah,
mister yeah, you, mister T. I mean enough said, but
but Rudy remember with three with clubb mm hmm. That

(44:24):
that was just trying to make Rocky more like he's
full of himself? Was that what it was? Or he
just he got soft?

Speaker 2 (44:30):
No, he was fooling him. He got he got too comfortable.

Speaker 3 (44:33):
Too comfortable.

Speaker 2 (44:34):
They were there were there were cherry picking his fights
after the Apollo once he got the title. They were
just trying to keep his beat on him basically, which
to mean it's more realistic than a fucking Soviet creating
a super a superhuman coming and killing killing Apollo, you know, yeah,
I don't think.

Speaker 4 (44:53):
By the way, By the way, did you know that
in all boxing movies, the drug Rocky bite is considered
the best boxing movie scene ever made, made really by
fan votes.

Speaker 2 (45:08):
Wow, And to me, I think it's the most overhyped
movie in the whole in the whole franchise, Rocky always
going to be it for me?

Speaker 4 (45:16):
Yeah, I'm going with CLUBB Rocky three. Just it had
more emotionally to it, and I did my grandness. I
think that I should have lasted long, a little longer. Hey,
here's one for you, and here's one for you. Just
I know you gotta go back to your listener, but
I got one for you. Just get around the rock
here prime CLUBB versus A Dot A dots Creed. Who wins?

Speaker 2 (45:41):
Is Donnis in his prime? You gotta break it down me,
which Donnis are we getting? Are we getting a Donas
from Creed two or three or three.

Speaker 4 (45:48):
We're getting three as the most recent and you got
you got Clubber in his prime ship.

Speaker 2 (45:58):
That's a hard one, bro, It's a tough.

Speaker 4 (46:00):
Right, Yeah. I don't you think you can? You think
ave a Haymaker from Clibber. No, that's the thing.

Speaker 2 (46:08):
I don't think he no, but he but his his
cardio work in part three was just out of the world,
out of this world.

Speaker 4 (46:16):
I mean, yeah, but but but if Lang, if Lang
drops one, that might be bites out or he did
a couple and then I don't know Donas can recover.
I mean, it wasn't when his ribs like all pretty much.
I mean because I forgot who.

Speaker 2 (46:29):
Yeah, basically, Baby Drago went ahead and Baby took him
out and busted his kidneys up and whatnot, and he
had the nerve to blame Rocky, like Rocky was the
one in there not playing. You know. Well, that's that's
what we hear a lot of nowadays, coaches being blamed
for the ship that their players or boxing boxers don't

(46:52):
don't do you.

Speaker 4 (46:52):
Know, going with the cardio factor. Yeah, it's all good,
a slight edge, because.

Speaker 2 (47:00):
That's the only reason that's the only reason why CLUBB lost. Bro,
he doesn't have that cardio.

Speaker 3 (47:06):
I'm I'm, I'm. I was always a big CLUBB Lanth fan,
So I would probably stick with CLUBB because that one hit.
But hit when Clubber fought Rocky. Was that really Cluver's prime?
But he was you don't know what, right? Yeah? Yeah,

(47:33):
I don't know. I mean clever. Clever is a different
type of boxer. I mean he's he's he's.

Speaker 2 (47:40):
A street dude, Bro, that's your strength kind of.

Speaker 4 (47:45):
That's the thing too, do you think, Anna, I.

Speaker 2 (47:49):
Don't think so. He's too soft. He was too sheltered.
I mean a lot of people are gonna say, oh,
well he was raised at a detention home and all
this stuff. Man, he still comes from the Creed family.
He still had that that most checks in his back pocket.
He was still sheltered. But I don't want to hear
anything because even between him and Jonathan Major's character, he

(48:09):
wasn't even the better fighter between them two. But uh
yeah not In all Clubver Lang he gets he gets
to win, and at that if he catches him early,
he gets he gets the same. He gets to win
the same time he got got it over Rocky round three.

Speaker 4 (48:23):
Ko I think I think if Clever were to land
one on Adonna's, Donna's goes back to the oh my god,
like like I don't know, Like, yeah, I give the
doubt in on him.

Speaker 2 (48:37):
He's gonna send his ass with his daddy.

Speaker 4 (48:41):
I know, by the way I do. I do give
was that Michael Jordan kudos And you probably know this,
sip uh. He choreographed a lot of the fights based
off Dragon ball Z.

Speaker 2 (48:53):
Yeah, yeah, bro, he's he's a big anime fan. Even
what is it is? Killmonger attire was a reference to
Vege the saying I don't.

Speaker 4 (49:03):
Want man, why can't we get that in a movie?
Why can't we get that in a movie? Say we
get dB evolution, but why can't we get that kind
of look? You know, I mean, I was like almost
spot on battl Arm're saying, though, I mean, it was
really really good, just didn't.

Speaker 2 (49:20):
If I'm not mistaken, they got the whole They got this,
the the cat in the hat treatment. Jeff the live
action film was so asked that Toryama says, naw, We're
not going to be doing that, at least for the
foreseeable future, because uh uh, what's her name? Missus Seuss
put the kibosh on any more live action flicks because

(49:41):
Cat in the Hat was that horrible.

Speaker 4 (49:44):
I went. I remember going to the movies when the
evolution came out, Height Height, and I remember walking out, like,
what did what just happened?

Speaker 2 (49:53):
Oh? I didn't stay for the whole thing. They got
like fifteen, they got like twenty minutes out of me,
and I was like, you know what, this shit's corney.
I'm out.

Speaker 4 (50:00):
Ah, my god.

Speaker 2 (50:01):
Sometimes sometimes corniness is good. Like my wife and I
just we just watched Nacho Libre oh maybe maybe like
four days ago, and I told my wife, you actually
find this shit funny. She's like, well, yeah, it's so bad,
it's good. And I was like all right, and she
was naming like She's like, we should watch Napoleon Dynamite next.
See what you think about it. I've never watched it,

(50:24):
but I don't know, bro, you've seen them.

Speaker 4 (50:27):
Jonathan Majors what was the name of the character and
the people of Green movie? I forgot the name of it,
this name, but anyway, my point. Highly recommend this movie.
Highly recommend one of his movies recently, Magazine Dreams you
gotta see that movie. You have to see that movie

(50:48):
that that first of all, it is intense and his
acting is off the charts of that character Magazine Dreams.
I highly recommend everybody watching this fine right now, watch it.
You're gonna be in the edge of your seat. You're
gonna feel like Mike. Afterwards're gonna be like what just happened?
Like he was like the director just doesn't let you breathe.

(51:10):
It's like one thing after another after another after another,
and then it just majors man the way he portrays
and plays that role, the main the main character. Oh
my god, it's like Chef's kiss man. It's a great movie.
It's a shame it's not gonna get attention because of
what he did. But if he didn't do what he did,
I think he probably would have swept up a bunch
of awards for his portrayal of the main character. It's

(51:32):
it's a phenomenal movie.

Speaker 2 (51:34):
No, I believe you. He's he's a great actor, and
it's a shame of what happened or what he was
framed for. You know, I'm not I'm not siding either
or you know know, how to wanted to show to
get canceled, but what happened really shook up the whole
MCU universe as well. We would have had Kang Dynasty.
It was. It was supposed to come out, if I'm

(51:54):
not mistaken, May May fourth, May fifth of this year.
Now we have to wait on this Infinity saga or
whatever the hell it is. Bullshit the Doctor Doom stuff.
But with with Robert Donnie Junior getting chosen when there
was the likes of Silly and Murphy available to play,
I just hope, I hope they I don't know. I

(52:15):
hope they're playing a trick on us and it's not
actually Robert Downey Junior playing in because he had the
perfect send off with with Iron Man.

Speaker 4 (52:24):
It just like a cheap way out.

Speaker 2 (52:26):
Yeah, it's it's some money grab to Jeff.

Speaker 4 (52:29):
Like why are you going to recycle that? And then
Chris Chris Evers is gonna come back and you know,
Robert Downey's coming back, and like like, you don't have to,
we don't. We we can survive without him.

Speaker 2 (52:41):
They didn't. They didn't learn about from the Star Wars
sequels bro which.

Speaker 3 (52:45):
He refused to watch.

Speaker 4 (52:47):
Hey, but real quick before we get to that though,
Rudy though, why would they do why would they bring
that Robert down? It doesn't It's like it feels like
a cop out.

Speaker 3 (52:57):
Well, they've lost so much money lately that they figured
they've got to bring these guys back somehow a big
office draws when when it's all said and done, I
mean they everything good with the Avengers was good in
the beginning. I just don't think the transition that they

(53:18):
had between directors and you know, actors, and but I
think what really killed mc U. I'm just gonna pretty
much say it. It's all those TV series on Disney.
I think that killed a lot of it was just
I mean it's basically I was just reading a comic
book and just that that story arc and a comic book,

(53:39):
and you could have done without it. I mean, if
you want to run. I love the Moonnight series. I
mean for them just to say, well, we're done with it,
I'm like, come on, man, I mean, that's that was
a good you know, I would rather have that. The
what F series was.

Speaker 4 (53:53):
Cool, but season one was okay, season two sucked.

Speaker 3 (53:58):
Yeah, And that's what I'm saying. They they're trying to
put so much out of it and put so much
into everybody's mind that it's like you're watering down everything
that you're planning to do. But the Robert Downey Junior thing,
I don't know. I I personally think they should have
never canceled the Kang Dynasty. They could have just gone
a different way. I mean, it happens all the time.

(54:20):
I mean, you know, and that's where I'm like, why
did you get away from that? King? Would have been
the perfect transition into Doctor Doom? The absolute perfect transition.
Now you're having to come up with, Well, Robert down
Junior is gonna play Doom? Well, how the hell is
that gonna happen?

Speaker 2 (54:36):
You know what?

Speaker 3 (54:36):
I don't even think they know yet, for being honest.

Speaker 4 (54:39):
Yeah, no, there are a lot more missus. As far
as the TV side, He's like, like, I never saw
I never saw it darkness that that series. Yeah, I
never never even seen a single second series. Uh thatcho there,

(55:04):
I guess you know. I thought it was just too quaranty,
too corny, and like, you know, just felt I felt
like I just didn't feel like it's a hopy show.
But there's hits, you know, like Daredevil Reborn at that novel,

(55:27):
I thought the Punisher. At least season one was great.
What else? Uh? So then there's are those ones that
don't attention that I think need more attention and uh
like bro uh and Double Dinosaur. Now it's geared towards
kids as gear is a little if you watch those

(55:48):
and I see in every single episode that is actually
pretty good. It keeps with the m c U vibe
going and uh and and they brit they have a
major villain in this one. Uh oh ready helped me
out here? What's the control the cops? Hey, and I'm
looking and they gave that series a major major villain. Hangout,

(56:12):
moon girl, what I'm sare I'll get it for you.

Speaker 3 (56:18):
Yeah, I can't remember.

Speaker 2 (56:21):
He's the one.

Speaker 4 (56:24):
And I don't get here. Beyonder that's it.

Speaker 3 (56:28):
Oh The Beyonder.

Speaker 4 (56:29):
Yeah, yeah, Aggy, that series The Beyonder and it's voiced
by oh my god, can't remember the voice now, good lord?
Uh you know, but good music. It really captures the
m c U. It's really good. But again it's like

(56:49):
you get it and it's like, oh it's it's like
it is geared towards the little kids. But the show
itself is pretty pretty good.

Speaker 2 (56:58):
I'll probably give it. I'll probably give it a watch
with my kid then. I mean even not like she
plays much attention to stuff other than blue.

Speaker 4 (57:04):
Right, but it's Laurence Fishburne. Laurence Fishburne voices the.

Speaker 2 (57:11):
Lawrence fishburn More Morpheus.

Speaker 5 (57:13):
Right.

Speaker 4 (57:13):
Yeah, but but I hope it gets back on track.
Like the hype. We'd all be hype, you know, in
the training out and you know, get your tickets and
you know.

Speaker 2 (57:30):
I'd even go as I'd even go as far as
to like log off social media just for that week,
the week of the premiere. I'm like, y'all can't ruin
this for me. Now. It's kind of like, uh, you know,
they they give away the big plot point or whatever
in the movie. I'm kind of like, eh, you know,
I probably wasn't gonna say this ship anyway.

Speaker 4 (57:50):
I've seen uh Captain America with the Red Hulk one.
I haven't seen them. Oh.

Speaker 2 (57:55):
I heard it was a cornfest.

Speaker 4 (57:56):
Bro.

Speaker 2 (57:57):
I saw the Red Hulk and Falcon fight and they
said it was worth it. You get maybe a four
or five minute bout and that's pretty much it. The
climax was.

Speaker 4 (58:07):
Pretty the Red Hulk and you you get buried.

Speaker 2 (58:13):
Yeah, it didn't make sense. They didn't capture what the
Red Hulk really was supposed was supposed to be. The
character itself is way more iconic than whatever the hell
they try to do with Harrison Ford. And let's not
talk about the setback and the CGI.

Speaker 4 (58:27):
Man. I feel like I haven't seen it.

Speaker 2 (58:29):
I haven't seen it, Bro, It's just as bad as
It's just as bad as the Flash. You know what
I'm talking about? That that that.

Speaker 4 (58:37):
Nick Flash was horrible CGI. I mean just terrible and rudy.
They went ahead and read Flashpoint movie a comic book.
They just messed it up Flashpoint series and they just
destroyed it. And the Flashpoint I know what, watch the
cartoon movie. That is just incredible, incredible. That's the way

(59:03):
it should have been, not what we got.

Speaker 2 (59:05):
It's the same thing that they did with The Joker, Jeff.
We were supposed to get the killing joke, the actual backstory,
but we got the We got Arthur Fleck and whatever
the hell they tried doing in part two. Bro, I
think DC is worse off than than the MCS, if
I'm being honest.

Speaker 4 (59:24):
Yeah, I remember I got to see San Antonio. You
got to the San Antonio premiere of The Joker Part two,
and I'm real excited. We're going, We're gonna go, you know, hey,
you're gonna have fun. And I remember just afterwards, everybody
was quiet and they had they they had a people

(59:45):
like from the studio outside of the theater after it
was over, polling people what do you think? And I
just remember hearing people like, yeah, it was not what
we expected. They could have gone this way. That'll tablet
and you would like do like a one through five ranking.

Speaker 2 (01:00:01):
Survey, Yeah, quick survey.

Speaker 4 (01:00:04):
I did one. I said it was horrible. It was horrible.

Speaker 2 (01:00:07):
Man Tim Dillon, who was in that flick playing uh,
playing security guards. So this is the worst fucking movie
I've ever acted in. And I've only been in three flicks,
so that's telling you a lot.

Speaker 4 (01:00:17):
Bro as a Ray, Well, well, you.

Speaker 2 (01:00:21):
Know, we don't want to keep it too long, Jeff,
So let's just finish his list real quick. Yes, since
we're on that on that boat, what do you prefer
Marvel or DC characters? When it comes to Marvel? What
mar why?

Speaker 4 (01:00:34):
I think a little bit more complex, a little bit
more complex, a little bit more complex. And DC, although
now they're trending towards a little bit more complexity as well.
But initially, if you go back at the O G
Run and you had Iron Man dealing with the alcoholism,
and you had other characters going through I mean, who's

(01:00:56):
the other one had as oh, Peter Parker and then
you know his you know, teenage years growing up and
getting rejected by women.

Speaker 2 (01:01:07):
In the family and whatnot get in the family.

Speaker 4 (01:01:09):
Or now not to say that d C has good characters.
Of course, again a couple of the great ones they
have the trilogy, Wonder Woman, Batman and Superman. Uh but yeah,
you were growing up. You read the comments, You're like, man,
this They felt like you're more real life in the
MCU than you were in d C. And d C
Yourginny Rand versus an interdimensional creature named Mittels, you know,

(01:01:33):
and and Marble.

Speaker 2 (01:01:35):
You the relatability just wasn't there.

Speaker 4 (01:01:38):
Wasn't wasn't there. But they're just they're still good. But
and I'm probably gonna be like that meme where that
characters like this right now and all those swords are
pointing at him because they have a hot take and
he agrees them. But I think, I think, I think
Zack Snyder gets gets the end of the gets run
of the deal. He's to get some pretty good d
C movies. That's to this day. To this day, I

(01:02:02):
don't get wh people bass Man of Steel, I don't
get it. It's a great Superman movie. It's a great
Superman movie.

Speaker 2 (01:02:11):
It's fun, you know, you know how it is, Jeff.
Everything gets judged just because it's cool.

Speaker 4 (01:02:16):
Bro.

Speaker 2 (01:02:16):
You know a lot of people probably have a have
it recorded in their DVR or in their DVD case.

Speaker 4 (01:02:21):
Ready, I tell read this. That has the best ending
of any Superman movie. Yes, even above Superstoral Reeve looking
at the camera as he flies away. That has the
perfect ending to a Superman movie. But go rewatch just
that last few minutes where he's on the bike going
to work, and how it ends. You cannot That's perfection

(01:02:44):
the way it ended.

Speaker 2 (01:02:46):
Yeah, I'm probably gonna need to do a rewatch.

Speaker 4 (01:02:48):
Bro.

Speaker 2 (01:02:48):
I'm trying to Rudy to Rudy's with me. He's like, shit,
I don't I don't remember what happens.

Speaker 4 (01:02:55):
Go back and watch how it ends, you know, and
just the dialogue what they say. It feels like you're
gonna be like, I can't wait till next week where
I pick up my comic book. You know, that's what
it makes you feel like. And I think it's the
perfect ending to a Superman movie. You cannot get better

(01:03:16):
than that and everything that dialogue implies, and it implies
a lot what's about to happen to his life?

Speaker 2 (01:03:24):
So I have one one of the last questions to
ask you, and you know you you know my take
on this. If Heath Ledger hadn't passed, what what? What
would his Joker would be as iconic as people make
it out to see him because honestly, I think it's
it could be, it could be better. I think it's over.

Speaker 4 (01:03:43):
It's over. High ready got a boo button on there,
or something like I've got a lot, I've got no no.
I I can disagree with you one hundred percent. You know,
I think Ledger, what he did with the Joker was
just like I just I Jack Nicholson pool, Oh, yes,

(01:04:04):
stage with Joky side of it, But you know he
was more would you sound like.

Speaker 3 (01:04:13):
So Jack Nicholson was early early comic book accurate Joker
like where we would get from Caesar Romero back in
the Out of Last Days. But what Heath Ledger did
to the Joker was. He brought out what everybody wanted
to see, the like how the Joker was portraying everybody's mind,

(01:04:35):
you know, don't care anarchy still with the joke here
and there by, you know, the pencil trick and all
this other stuff. But what Heath Ledger did was say, Okay,
I'm gonna make the Joker what everybody else expects him
to be, and I'm gonna be real. I don't know
if you'll ever get a perfect Joker more than Heath Ledgers.

Speaker 4 (01:05:00):
I had joking and obviously you know that I got
close and out. But as far as Ledgers come, yeah,
for me, it's him, it's Mark Hamill. I think those
are the two that are top of the list. And
you know, and Mark Hamill too. I mean we watched

(01:05:21):
interviews about him and what he wanted to do a Joker.
He wanted to bring out that demonic side that he
that gritty, evil side as much as you can push
it for a kid's cartoon, even though it wasn't. Go
back and watch the Batman nineties running and I don't
think there was some kids theme in those. So him
and him and hamil Man, they did just iconic I mean,

(01:05:43):
go look at Hamel's portrayal of the Joker in Phantasm,
that one too, but Massive Phantasm. He did a damn
good job. And the way the way his last scenes
with with so and so, I'm gonna give it away.
I mean, people should know already what happens, right, Rudy,
You should know by now what happens in the Mask

(01:06:04):
of the Phantasm.

Speaker 2 (01:06:07):
Jeff, the chows I got, bro when they have the
picture of Jack and he gets the crayon and draws
a smile and you hear that iconic laugh, Bro. Probably
one of the best scenes of all time in any
comic movie.

Speaker 3 (01:06:18):
Bro.

Speaker 4 (01:06:19):
Yeah, and I think I think really helped me out here.
Didn't Mark Hamill say he's done with Joker because the
other guy voice actor passed.

Speaker 2 (01:06:29):
Away, Kevin Kevin Conroy?

Speaker 4 (01:06:31):
Yeah, did he say that.

Speaker 3 (01:06:34):
I believe he's done with that. He's not gonna do
any more Joker.

Speaker 4 (01:06:37):
Hey, by the way, you know, just we're talking about
Mark Hamill, so in real quick you know, he voiced
the Chucky Doll and the most recent revival movie.

Speaker 2 (01:06:46):
Yeah, yeah, it's the good guy though.

Speaker 4 (01:06:49):
Thank you. So when I did I did a child's
play panel recently at the cor Con and I brought
up about Mark Hamill doing the voice and in the
revival to the original actors of Andy and Kyle. So
Andy obviously throughout the entire series, and Kyle was the
I think the babysitter and Charles bray two. Yeah, and

(01:07:10):
they didn't. They just looked at me like, how dare
you ask that? And I just remember like, okay, moving on,
you know, saying that they were they looked like they
were pissed off. That not at me, just more like
a revival was made and that a different voice actor
took over. And I think at the time the original
act voice actor was still around, so I think he died.

Speaker 2 (01:07:33):
So Brad Doris is still alive and kicking, kicking, okay, okay, okay.
He voiced Chucky in the in the t Society in
the TV series as well, him him and his daughter
who she got that laughed down to a t bro Soli.

Speaker 4 (01:07:50):
If you're running to the movie cast of joh they
don't bring up anything about the revival, don't bring up
Maracoun and don't bring up what the reboot, nothing, nothing,
They're not too happy with it, but.

Speaker 2 (01:08:01):
For some reason don't don't even mention Luke Skywalker They're
gonna come for your ass.

Speaker 4 (01:08:06):
Yeah, yeah, no, And I did. I mentioned Mark Hampbell
and there I just remember sitting in the chair with him.
They're looking at me like like this fury just in
their eye. Okay, I'm not gonna mention it anymore. I
thought it was a fair child's play. It's part of
the friend.

Speaker 2 (01:08:19):
Yeah, I mean, still the same character. But all right.

Speaker 4 (01:08:21):
Yeah, but but as far as jokers concerned, no, I
totally disagree with you. You're What he did was just phenomenal, phenomenal.
You can watch that whole movie untill be you know,
just left for your mouth open after his performance, I
mean from him barging to the party, to the interrogation

(01:08:42):
scene to over taking five ten steps ahead, uh you know,
from what he do really did he put ropes in
the skyscrapers to stop the helicopters and little things like that. Yeah,
it was just so awesome. And then like again, his
final line, what was this On the line he goes
he tells Batman, I think we're meant to do this

(01:09:03):
for like years and yeah, and he goes off and.

Speaker 2 (01:09:07):
He basically he tells him without Without you, there's no me,
or without me, there's no U. Either. Iconic iconic, just
as iconic as having the great Jeff Garcia here on
plead the sith Bro. I loved having you on here.
Glad we're able to move on from the Spurs stuff
and just yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:09:23):
Thank you for that. I appreciate that. Yeah, it's a
breath of pressure to be able to nerd out. Hey
can come in and talk about the draft or Papovich retiring.

Speaker 2 (01:09:33):
No, I told, I told Rudy, let's leave the convert
the controversy on the Spurs talk to decide. Let's let
Jeff nerd out for once.

Speaker 4 (01:09:39):
You want, you want, you want to hear some controversy.

Speaker 3 (01:09:41):
Ruddy, Oh god, what is it?

Speaker 4 (01:09:44):
SI didn't believe that I worked out.

Speaker 2 (01:09:49):
I didn't believe he was as big as he is.
I was like, oh, okay, he probably works out like
like the rest of us. But I saw my horror
con and it was like Baines sitting next to Michael Myers.
I was like, all right, I'll see you.

Speaker 5 (01:10:01):
Bro, I'll see you, yeah, Jeff, Yeah, Rudy's the only
person san Antonio, at least among friends, to see me
during a workout.

Speaker 4 (01:10:12):
Nobody else ever see it. Yeah, yeah, oh yeah. I
had a couple of passes for Rudy for a con
and he had to pick him up and I said, well, yeah,
so we're you gonna get him and then he drove
up and I came out and I was like damn it.
And I remember going back inside in the gym like ship,
I don't like that, and people see when I'm at work,
but Rudy got to see.

Speaker 3 (01:10:33):
Yeah, it's like imagine, you know, it's like a little
thin waist and the muscles are like out to hear,
like you know, massive us.

Speaker 2 (01:10:40):
He's got like two thousand's triple A Rudy, you know
the reference.

Speaker 4 (01:10:45):
Yeah, you know what, you know what physique I always
admired in the w W E and it's it's a tie.
But I'm I'm kind I'm kind of lean towards Batista,
like Pete Batista.

Speaker 2 (01:10:59):
That he was a he was a tank.

Speaker 4 (01:11:02):
Yeah that and then the close second, well maybe it's
like one b is uh the ultimate warriors than the
peak Batista, Like who was more in shape?

Speaker 2 (01:11:15):
You think it has it has to be. It had
to be ultimate warrior, but it was more because if
their height. I would say, yeah, his his must his
muscles just suited his body more than him what Batista did.

Speaker 4 (01:11:28):
But he still I don't understand what do you mean
by because of the height, Like I don't get that.

Speaker 2 (01:11:33):
Well, well, his muscles, I guess they just fit his
body better. I don't know how to explain it really,
but he still looked kind of how could he say rudy.
He didn't look he was jack but you know what,
but you could see.

Speaker 3 (01:11:48):
He was more like chiseled like he was more just muscle,
like pound for pound muscle. He had the guns, he
had everything. Batista had that chiseled look like it was
just muscle on muscle, but never that that swoll look
is what you know. I remember Batista in his prime.
You know, he wasn't like super swell like the Warrior was.

(01:12:10):
The Warrior was, you know, pure muscle and you know,
pure steroid.

Speaker 4 (01:12:14):
That's what that was.

Speaker 2 (01:12:20):
All the above, bro, But there's no doubting that the
Ultimate Warrior was indeed an icon bro.

Speaker 4 (01:12:26):
Was Warrior was shorter than Batista.

Speaker 2 (01:12:29):
I want to say he was, because Batista's pushing about
six six three six four Warriors about a good six
foot six one so it is. So his body just
uh it was height made up? Did help? He was
stumpy stumpy. I guess what we're getting.

Speaker 4 (01:12:45):
Really see, I don't remember Warrior being stumpy. I remember
being tall.

Speaker 2 (01:12:50):
No. So look, Jeff, I'm gonna I'm gonna blow your mind.
How tall do you think Ria Ripley is.

Speaker 4 (01:12:56):
I'm gonna guess like five ten?

Speaker 2 (01:13:01):
How about you, Rudy Real Ripley.

Speaker 3 (01:13:03):
I've always thought she's probably the same five ten, maybe
pushing six foot like right at six.

Speaker 2 (01:13:08):
Oh, she's barely hitting five to seven. She's just she's
five seven looking up. Everyone else in the ring with
her is pushing about five. They're about five feet between
five and five ft, especially lived Morgan. Live Morgan's only
five foot one. Jordan Grace to the New Muscle Mommy, Yeah,
she's ripped to the gills. I believe she's four for eleven. Bro,

(01:13:31):
I'm telling you they they what I thought Real Ripley
was over six feet? Did you yes? A fact jacket
on a fact jacket.

Speaker 4 (01:13:41):
I believe you're but you're I mean, I I appreciate
WD wrestling, but you're the expert in that area. So
she's only one Did you say five six seven seven
real ripley. They make her look like a beast in there.
Bring there. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:13:56):
I I thought she was at least six six feet.
I thought maybe she'd top off at about six one
six and a half.

Speaker 4 (01:14:05):
But she's she's pretty. She's pretty shred too.

Speaker 3 (01:14:09):
I always tried to work out, but I couldn't get
past Dusty Rhodes physique. So I just kind of man,
I'm built like Yokozuna.

Speaker 4 (01:14:20):
I'll say, I don't say you're build like tugboat.

Speaker 3 (01:14:23):
Oh god. Back in the day, yeah, back in the day.
I could have easily joined the natural disasters back in
the day, but after losing some weight, I tried to
get to My wife's a big Randy Orton fan, so
I tried to get to his physique, and no, I
kind of got to, you know, cowboy Bob Orton and
that's about his enough.

Speaker 4 (01:14:49):
Realm.

Speaker 2 (01:14:53):
So with that, with that being said, that's my co host,
Rudy compos Orton and thanks for I want to get
here today, Jeff much love bro. Anything you want to
plug before we sign off?

Speaker 4 (01:15:05):
Yeah, yeah, I don't know what's coming out, but with
the NBA Draft coming up, so keep it on. We're
watching on X. If you're not Jeff g Spur Zone,
follow there, I'll be a draft. Well, we're at the
Spurs meeting of the draft or where you go at
the Victory for Performance Center. So we'll get here with Brian, right,
I say picks. We'll see where they keep him, and

(01:15:28):
we know we're gonna keep them at least, so we'll
we'll see what happens then and then for summer league.
Maybe I'll fit in a little vacation between now and then,
