It wasn't a dominating suite, but they swept the They
swept the Mariners. The kid pitched. The kid pitching for
the Mariners yesterday pitched was pitching a no hitter, and
I think the seventh or eighth inning, uh Jazz killed
it for him. And not only did they, you know,

get out of that funk. I mean, I mean they
were down like five nothing and then ended up winning
the game like six five. So you know, it could
be a sign that they're you know, getting things working again.
But we'll see.

Well, just to give you a heads up, man, this weekend,
you're going to be hosting the that you the Cubbies,
who are currently sitting in first place over there and
in the National League Central Man, So you're going to
have a rough, a little rough Weekendah yeah myself, we
got yeah, yeah, for myself. The Padres is gonna be

hosting the the Phillies, who are also sitting in first place.
You know, the Padres are currently in the third out
in the NL West, sitting behind the Dodgers and the Giants,
who they will be playing each other this weekend as well. So, Rudy,
you're gonna have a tough one as well this week.

We still got a game ahead of y'all in San
Diego against San Diego, so.

actually gonna be visiting the Astros. So that'll be an

also this weekend, all Star weekend festivities kickoff. Uh they
got like celebrity baseball and stuff like that. Monday we

have the home Run Derby, followed by or Tuesday we
also have the All Star Game. Anthony excited about the
home run Derby.

Yeah, I mean you'd be you'd be out of the game.

I guess if you weren't, if you didn't get excited
for the home run derby. You know, the home run
derby's just one of those events that you have to watch, right,
even if I think that, even if you're not like
a baseball person, right, you just watch it just to see, right,
It's just it's just the cool thing to see, just
like these big dudes being kids, you know, and then

just seeing how many home runs these guys can not got.
And then to be honest, like even watching like the
kids out there, you know, waiting for the balls that
stay in field, right, fighting for that's become sort of
like a cool you don't thin to see.

you got Junior Cam and Arrow, you got the kid
out from Seattle's is the roaring the ball this year? Uh,

necessarily considered like a power guy. But when that guy
gets a hold of one man, he gets a hold
of it. So it'd be it's gonna be fun to watch.

So so right now I got a I'm rooting for
somebody in particular. His name is James Woods, right, but
but there's a personal reason behind that. If it wasn't
for the story I'm about to tell you, I'd probably
be rooting for Cruise, maybe even though the guy. You know,
I'm in the Tampa area, so maybe cam and Arrow.
But so this was my In my neighborhood, all the

dads get together once a week, you know, play a
little poker.

And one of the dads. He's he's just like this
cool dad, right, He's this dude.

This is a neighborhood guy, family guy, always having get
togethers with families. And one night it got it got
pretty were playing poker, it got pretty late, and his daughter,
who's in college, was visiting. It was over the Fourth
of July weekend and her boyfriend was there, and you know,

we just started talking. So the kid, but I'm not
I'm not.

I don't know him like that to you know, sort
of put his name out there. But this kid was
the right hand picture from from the state of Maryland,
and he played baseball with Woods and maryld They were
on the same team in Maryland in high school, on

a on a travel team, just like destroying people, right.
And he's like, he's like, I can call James right
now if you want.

We play. We play Call of Duty every night.

So so he uh, And I know that this is
like a national story already, right, I just it's just
one that I wasn't paying attention to. James Wood and
Jackson Maryland. They played on the same team right in
high school and then get drafted the same year together

the Woods was originally a Padre.

I I know Chash Chisholm can get you know, a
hold of one, and he's gone on some streaks, you know.

odds on favorite and cal. I mean, he's having a

remarkable season. He's having, you know, a season that a
lot of people probably didn't predict already. But I'm to
go with the easy way out. I'm gonna go with
Kyle Raley. If I had to get an underdog, I
truly will say this. People don't believe it, and he's
actually one of the guys that's favored to win it.
But I don't think Ronald Acunya has I don't think

he actually makes it through the first round.

To be honest with you, he's.

A big name, but I don't think bar the injury,
I don't think he has that same power that he

not win. He may not do very good, that's to me.

gonna go with Kyle Riley as well. You know, he's
currently sitting at thirty six. And the whole reason why
I say that I was gonna go with him is
when he gets a hold of win and he launched that,

gonna be fun, fun, fun. You love watching the home

Wise, both of you guys watch baseball, so like I do,

What's probably one of the most memorable home run derbies
for you, For you guys, Josh Hamilton easily I was
the Hamilton One. Thing was was massive. It was big.

I think that was huge. Yeah, the story that was

And how Josh Hunna, how Josh Hamilton pretty much how
to make a comeback and then just launching all the
baseball's you know, that one home run derby and that
that's round. I can't remember exactly how many he knocked over,
but everybody, you know, was just like on their feet.

Remember ESPN he even made a commercial uh off a
bit where what he runs into the ball or whenever
he's at the SPN studio, like the ball gets him

And then Tuesday, man, we got the All Star Game
coming up at You're interested in that?

personally maybe it's an attentions man thing, but I prefer
to watch the home run derby. Then if if I.

Could only watch one of them, it's going to be
the Derby, I said, you know, if I'm at home,
Jill and relaxing, also down't watch the game.

But I don't know, it doesn't exclite him as much. Right,

You know, pictures get swalked out right away, and you know,
we got our favorite player out there.

that those two mbers a pretty significant in baseball and

Yeah, actually yeah, I kind of am. I I enjoy
the All Star Game. I really like it. It's one
of the one games I watched throughout the season for MLB.
But you know the thing with the All Star Game
is I like it because you get, you know, the

top players in baseball. But I don't like it for
a reason why Anthony said, you don't get a whole
lot of pitchers that stay in the game for very long,
which obvious reasons. But you know, here's the part I
like about MB All Star Game. It means something unlike
a Pro Bowl, you know, unlike the NBA All Star Game,

unlike any of that stuff. The MLB All Star Game
means something. So these guys play, and that's what I
really like about that is that they end up playing.
And that's that's the reason why I will like to
watch it, because I'm not just watching an All Star game.
I'm watching a game that's gonna determine home field advantage
at the end of the year. So these guys got
to play for something. That's why I'll watch it, and

that's why I do what I do enjoy watching.

something that my daughter can hear it.
