You are now tuned into the Tackle Obesity Show with

(00:25):
our host, Richard Walker.

Speaker 3 (00:32):
Good afternoon everyone. This is Richard Walker, the Great sports Morpheus.
We are alive at Super Bowl fifty eight Radio Row
and we are at again on a part of a
special tricast. We're in three cities. Our home Riverside, California
one O six point five one two point five FM KCAA,
the station that leads the list of mind. However, we're
also on a special simulcast in the Desert and our

(00:53):
sister station fifteen eighty the Fanatic CBS Phoenix, and we're
in the home of Dick Buckets and want to pay
w CKG, Chicago, in the Land of the Bears. I
have two special guests with me, and I have a
subject matter that I want to talk that's a personal
manner to me. And I am with the American Heart Association,

(01:14):
and you are the CEO of the American Art Associations.
You're Nancy Brown and you're here to talk to us
today along with mister Jeff Miller, who is the vice
president of Communications for the NFL, and we want to
talk about the partnership between the NFL and the American
Heart Association. So we'll start with you, Nancy. Tell us
of what brings you here today.

Speaker 4 (01:35):
Well, we're proud to partner with the NFL our partner
for almost eighteen years and helping people live longer, healthier lives.
We have focused on Place sixty together for so many Did.

Speaker 5 (01:47):
You ever be involved?

Speaker 4 (01:48):
Were you ever involved in places?

Speaker 3 (01:49):
Actually I own the NFL Flag League that we're actually
kicking off in April, the National Future Flag League US.

Speaker 6 (01:55):
There you go.

Speaker 4 (01:56):
And so we have partnered together to help young people
understand the importance of physical activity for many, many, many years,
and now our partnership has expanded even more broadly to
focus on CPR training and helping schools and youth sports
leagues understand the importance of adopting emergency response plans and
having access to AEDs.

Speaker 3 (02:17):
That is just a critical, critical, critical skill to have
because you never know when you're gonna have to step
in and save someone's life. And you know, we have
you know, so many people out there with undertake their
heart issues. I myself am my heart survivor of early
stage heart disease, and I was fortunate enough to get
help in an early stage and you know, be able
to overcome the side effects of that. But a lot

(02:38):
of people are just don't have the awareness of how
critical heart disease is and how it is important to
know to get to get tested, but to get treated,
but also to have the skills to help someone else
that's in need. And mister Miller, I'm going to talk
to you, you know about your involvement with the American
Heart Association and NFL Play sixty, you know, talk to
us about you know, why it is so important to

(03:00):
get our young folks out the play and also for
them to have these critical skills you know, like CPR well.

Speaker 6 (03:06):
No question, and kids are not as active as they
used to be.

Speaker 7 (03:10):
We all know that they're engagement with their phones and
other screens and all of that are leading to decreased participation,
less health among our kids, and we need to get
them active in sports.

Speaker 3 (03:20):
We need to get them active period.

Speaker 7 (03:21):
But one additional thing I'd like to mention is our
work with the American Heart Association since the Tomorrow Hamlet
incident last January second, which demonstrated, I think, to the
country that emergency preparedness, the availability of ads and people
who know CPR can save a life and you don't
have to be you don't have to have the resources

(03:41):
of the NFL, and all the doctors and trainers on
field in your high school, have an emergency action planet
so you know what to do should there be a problem,
Have access to an AD one to three minutes from
your field or from your arena, or whatever the case is.

Speaker 8 (03:55):
And make sure somebody knows how to use it and
perform CPR. Those three basic things are going to save
our kids' lives, and so our work with the American
Heart Associations has been focused on that over the past
year and we're going to continue to until our high
schools are safer for the kids who play sports.

Speaker 3 (04:10):
And Nancy, you know, of course, it is definitely critical,
you know, for us to have this program where these
kids have access to life saving resources with getting them
out to play. What about the adults in the corporate
sector and you know, just just a private sector. You know,
one of the things that we can do to help
improve the overall education and understanding of how critical it

(04:33):
is to have these skills in those sectors.

Speaker 4 (04:35):
Well, thank you for asking. You know, the American Heart
Association has a broad platform called Nation of Life Savers,
because we believe everyone should be surrounded by people in
their lives, whether it's at work, a community center, their
faith location, their school, or their home, that know CPR.
And knowing CPR is as easy as pressing hard and

(04:57):
fast in the center of the chest to the two
staying alive, which has the right number of beats per
minute to help restore blood flow to someone who has
suffered a cardiac arrest. It's really critical that we take
action for everyone to learn this life saving skill and
in places like companies, community centers, baith centers, and schools

(05:18):
that these emergency response plans that Jeff spoke about are
in place and ready to be activated if needed. Here's why,
you know, three hundred and fifty thousand people a year
suffer an out of hospital cardiac arrest, and fewer than
ten percent of them survive because these emergency action plans
are not in place. So we are on a mission

(05:39):
together with the NFL, to make sure that these emergency
action plans and CPR training and availability of AEDs is
something that everyone can benefit from.

Speaker 3 (05:50):
Well, I just have to say, we're at the Super Bowl,
but we already have We're alays surrounded about with champions
a I'm thankful to you Nancy and the American Heart
Association for taking the steps to be more proactive, and
of course Jeff, with the NFL's involvement and with Play sixty,
we're gonna make our youth a lot healthy. They're gonna
have a right future, a safer future, one where we've

(06:13):
tried to prevent heart disease through activity through NFL Play sixty.
But in this situation where something happens, we have the
emergency resources in the training, within the ours reach to
be able to help those that are in need, and
we need to increase that ten percent number as as
was possible.

Speaker 9 (06:29):
We absolutely do.

Speaker 4 (06:30):
You know, we need to create a nation of life
saver so that that survival rate can be significantly higher.

Speaker 3 (06:36):
Okay, So for those that are tuned in, how can
they find out more information?

Speaker 4 (06:40):
They can go to heart dot org, slash nation, I'll.

Speaker 3 (06:44):
Stand it and Jeff NFL Play sixty the future. How
can they find out more about it.

Speaker 7 (06:50):

everybody watches the game on Sunday.

Speaker 3 (06:56):
I was standing. I'll be REMISSI if I will ask
you both real quickly four or for a winner.

Speaker 7 (07:02):
I just rode for a good, safe game and after
the last whistle bloz at the end of the game
on Sunday, I'll be relieved.

Speaker 3 (07:08):
I'm ritten for both teams.

Speaker 4 (07:09):
Okay, and for you, Dancy, I'm runing for both teams
because my Detroit Lions came this close to getting in.

Speaker 9 (07:15):
And they didn't.

Speaker 4 (07:16):
So I'm you know, whoever wins deserves to win and
it will be a great game.

Speaker 10 (07:20):
What is your.

Speaker 3 (07:22):
I just can't pick against Mahomes. Oh. I just think
he's he's he's a legendary quarterback. I think he's gonna
add another one to the show. Yeah. So for you, uh,
first of all States is tuning into the game. But
also make sure that you check in to NFL sixty again.
You know, we have our youth dout there, get them
off the phones, get them more active, get them out there,
and also get information from the American Heart Association We

(07:45):
need to have a nation of life savers. It is critical.
Let's do this as a team. You're tuning in to
KCAA one O six point five one O two point

Alumni and they're tackling adolescent OBC epidemic by educating the
youth and how it's long term effects shorten their lives.
Please go check out Tackle Obesity and I wish you
guys all the best of luck.

Speaker 15 (09:28):
This is the NFL Alumni Tackle Obesity Challenge, and here's
the deal. We need to inspire kids to recognize the
importance of tackling obesity. And I'm happy to try to
be a part of this. Cost it's an epidemic, a
cost the US and the world of course, as we
know it. But I want everyone to endorse the NFL
Alumni Tack Obesity Challenge. I hope everything goes well, even

(09:49):
if you can make it, make it all right. Random
cunning and I'm reaching.

Speaker 2 (09:52):
Out Clinton and Whitney. Wheeler explains the importance of having
a coach.

Speaker 10 (10:00):
Having a coach actually is a great thing to be
honest with you in my mind, because the coach is
gonna always hold you accountable. A coach ain't gonna be
your friend. A coach is gonna tell you the truth
no matter what happens, and he's gonna basically he or
she are going to motivate to be able to be
a better person. No matter how mad you get at them,

(10:21):
no matter how much you want to maybe yell and
curse them out, they gonna still.

Speaker 3 (10:25):
Be the same person.

Speaker 10 (10:26):
They gonna come back the next day, you ready to
work harder than what you did yesterday, and you ain't
gonna have no choice but to respect them and continues
to do what you do with them exactly.

Speaker 16 (10:35):
I actually have a coach and a mentor, and both
of them are so important. It's such an important part
of your journey. And a coach holds you accountable. And
you want to find you a coach that has already
accomplished what you want to accomplish, so they're able to
see things that you're not able to see. If you
get you a coach that have already walked the path,

(10:57):
so your path can be easier. Get you someone that
can speak life into you, someone that can guide you,
someone that has a system that's going to work for you.

Speaker 17 (11:07):
Right.

Speaker 16 (11:08):
So having a coach and a mentor. A mentor more
so helps me with mindset and that spiritual walking in
my coach. Of course, not just the weight loss coach,
but just the overall business coach, business experience. So if
that's something that you have been hesitant about investing yourself.
It's a seed. I know coaches are free, but when
you sow a seed, you can expect the harvest.

Speaker 17 (11:30):
Right.

Speaker 16 (11:31):
So a scene gets you a cold and I promise
you it to be life changing.

Speaker 2 (11:38):
Mike Gullick for Tackle Obesity.

Speaker 18 (11:41):
People talk about diabetes. Oh, you're just lazy to let yourself,
you know, get overweight, and this is what happened. You know,
It's like, man, you know I don't accept that now.
Certainly at times you can eat better, but you know
that the heredity factor can be involved as well. Either way,
if you have it, deal, Like I said, there's no
sense in now arguing, complaining whatever, do something now you

(12:05):
have it. So the one thing that I've learned about
type two diabetes is obviously you can manage it, but
if you let it go and start letting things happen.
The things that can happen to you, from eyes, toes,
from different things are permanent. You can lose your site,
you could have to get your toes amputated, and you
can start losing functioning things on you that you now

(12:26):
can't get back. That's a daunting thing. So you don't
want to screw around with that you know, you want
to make sure you're you're hitting the parameters you do
and we're all humans. Sometimes I don't, but I try
to get back on track as best I can as
soon as I can, because I know it can go
down a road eventually that I can't come back from.

Speaker 2 (12:46):
Richard Walker speaks on why having a wellness coach is important.

Speaker 3 (12:51):
It is so much different having the toach because most
of us lie to ourselves. No, there's there's most of us.
There's just we don't have the ability to be really
honest with ourselves, and having that lack of accountability is
where we fail. Sometimes. This is the voice in your
head that says, a, you know what, I don't need
to be on the die to day, and you know what,

(13:12):
I don't need to exercise to day. When you have
someone from outside of your head that sees you and
sees what you're going through and sees how you're behaving,
and they're able to point that out to you, and
then you also have to answer this person as to
you know, why you didn't accomplish your goal for that day,
It creates successful or coulibility. That's the biggest thing that

(13:33):
I think a lot of us are mission is just
not having someone to bouce this off of so that
we can see, Hey, I'm not doing what I was
supposed to be doing. Let me get back on track.

Speaker 2 (13:43):
Reggie Brown speaks on why having a wellness coach is important.

Speaker 19 (13:48):
I tell people, and I've been I've been saying this,
How does life having a coach?

Speaker 20 (13:53):
Well, everybody is doing something good or doing something special
as a coach.

Speaker 19 (14:00):
Anybody needs a coach.

Speaker 6 (14:01):
I don't get what you do.

Speaker 12 (14:02):
Mother.

Speaker 19 (14:02):
Jordan had a coach, Jordan, I've had a coach, Reggie,
Brian got a coach. Until I got a coach about
working on my way? It wasn't workie, But now that
I got a coach, man.

Speaker 18 (14:15):
Look, we want to not go.

Speaker 3 (14:18):
Hi.

Speaker 13 (14:18):

Speaker 3 (15:25):
Hey, listen up, this is Coach Walker. Welcome to another
episode of Tackle Obesity. This is a very very special episode.
We are live at Super Bowl fifty eight Las Vegas.
I have a very special panel, a gift starting over
with too bout right one of the dogs of the
tackle Obesity movement, none of it than Arizona Cardinals legend,
mister Michael Bexton. Thank you for joining us today. What's up, Rich?

(15:48):
Thank you for having us here. Good to see doctor
Dawes and Kyle Uh we lost a lot of weight?
What the toime?

Speaker 22 (15:54):
Sure did?

Speaker 3 (15:56):
What's a gentleman that was a key player. He was
a s amty back of the day. A lot of
y'all I don't know this. See, I thought I'd get
parents of wisdom from everywhere. He's one of the brother
one of the member of the brother who. He's there
for day one when the Tackle OBC program was called.
The NFL Alumni wellness program way back in the day.
He started with us. He's still with us, the world
renowned doctor Oz. How are you doing today?

Speaker 6 (16:18):
God bless my friends, so I thought to say.

Speaker 23 (16:20):
But what I've been most proud about working with the
NFL is how athletes who are studs when you're playing
can be studs.

Speaker 3 (16:25):
When you retire.

Speaker 6 (16:26):
Yes, and losing weight was a big part of that story.

Speaker 23 (16:28):
But all along we've always been thinking, how do we
pass us on, how do we get the young kids
involved in learning from what you guys have to teach,
because frankly, they're much more interested in what you have
to say that what a doctor says, what their teacher says. Absolutely,
So we created a foundation called Healthcore. Coming to visit
you in Being Sudden Monday to talk about this a
little bit more.

Speaker 6 (16:44):
But we're all over the country.

Speaker 23 (16:45):
Raised eighty million dollars for health Core to go out
and teach kids about health. But the best messengers are
you guys. So we are teamed up with the NFL
alumni having players talk to young folks about not just
losing weight, and that's tip of the iceberg. It's truly
about the trolling. What's happening in your body because then
you can change the world outside of it. And it's
getting folks that think differently about the role they have
with the most pressures thing they've ever erited. And that's

(17:07):
why I think you guys get the weight off, can
keep the weight off. And whether you use it a
medication to do it, or our procedures or diet and exercise,
we'll talk about that, I think a little bit because
I got an idea that I think most people benefit
from called intermittent pasting.

Speaker 6 (17:20):
But it won't happen unless the right message you're out there.
That's why Kyle.

Speaker 23 (17:24):
Richardson, who has been leading the NFL Alumni health is
so critical this process of our partner in this endeavor
works with Healthcore and been a good friend.

Speaker 24 (17:31):
Oh, we're honored to have doctor Oz, right, guys, I
mean we're all one helpolutely here absolutely.

Speaker 3 (17:36):
You know.

Speaker 6 (17:37):
Our message is that we're beacons of the community.

Speaker 3 (17:39):
We're hiding in plain sight.

Speaker 6 (17:41):
Come join.

Speaker 24 (17:42):
You know, we have a message to tell. We need
the medical society to help us with that.

Speaker 18 (17:47):
We need partners, any.

Speaker 24 (17:48):
Institutional partners, you know, and collectively we can move the
needle on a lot of different things in our health
and it's it's a lot. We could all start to
message this locker room where you guys are done, there'll
bec a campaign. It's great, you're the messenger. You are
an ambassador, doctor Oz. With the Healthy Core, our chapters
aren't throw layer over to actually work into schools. And

(18:10):
now we're caring for kids. Yes are to Mission Safement
at NFL MNI is caring for kids, care for our own.
We're gonna care for our own so we can care
for those kids through the Healthy Core.

Speaker 3 (18:19):
And care for everybody. And this is such a great
dynamic because life imitates football in so many ways and
basically our our testimist to that we apply to principles
from football to our willdness journey and just having a
strong coach, having someone like doctor Oz who could call
the instants and those to help us get the right

(18:39):
type of programs, the right type of mindset, because it's
more than just about what you eat eternally, it's also
about the mindset. It's about what we call the NERD concept,
which is nutrition, exercise, risk destress. It's a lifestyle change,
but it's not a diet. I hate the word diet.
It's a lifestyle adjustment, and once we adopted their mindset,
it's the same type of time that you had on

(19:00):
the field. It's game plating and it's such an excellent
game plan that we have there. We just couldn't keep
it to ourselves. We wanted to get it out there everybody.

Speaker 23 (19:07):
Well, I'll tell you what's been stunning to me along
the way is that people think weight gain is a
borrel failing. If you blame yourself, you have shame over it.
People make fun of it. It's none of those things
that we've learned that now because of these new injections,
because people can lose weight pretty quickly. And what but
my friends who are taking these different injections about for
way loss say to me, is I feel like you?

Speaker 3 (19:28):
Yes?

Speaker 23 (19:29):
When I see you stop eating, I feel like I
should stop beating because I don't feel the urge to
keep going. But historically I did feel that urge. Right,
So that actually is underline for us a major opportunity
because if you can get people back to their playing weight, yes,
they'll stay there. Were really with the lifestyle changes that
you point to, and they may just mention this in
a mid fasting that I tease everybody about This is
not a diet. This is how a lot of humans

(19:49):
probably spent their lives because you didn't get up in
the morning. If you're out in the wild thousand years
ago and have your milk the cereal ready for you, right,
you have to go out and catch your breakfast right,
So you didn't get practice. You had lunch or dinner
maybe if you're lucky, So having two meals a day,
pushing your first bill back later, making sure that when
you have your dinner you don't have to dessert because
does that'll allow you when you make up in the
morning not to be hungry, and so you don't have

(20:11):
a struggle when you're doing that.

Speaker 6 (20:12):
You're gonna have coffee, but you can't have sweets.

Speaker 23 (20:14):
That changes the game for a lot of people. And
I'd suggest, if you hear my voice right now, think
about it, because it's the number one opportunity for you
to live longer. And if I can blow your mind
with a little stat and I was talking to Kyle
about this with the NFL alumni, we can get people
to work three years longer because you love your job,
you're healthy enough to do it.

Speaker 6 (20:29):
That saves our economy a trillion dollars. Wow, that makes
Medicare and Social Security solvent. It deals with a lot
of our social programs.

Speaker 23 (20:37):
And it's your patriotic duty, I think, to stay healthy
enough and to find a job you love so it's
not really work, but you keep doing to do just that.

Speaker 6 (20:44):
That's how America stays strong.

Speaker 2 (20:47):
Stay tuned for the Tackle Obesity Show. We'll be right back.

Speaker 25 (22:45):
I just want to thank you so much for this.
I come from a healthcare background. I've lost over one
hundred pounds myself.

Speaker 3 (22:50):
My boy had died last year.

Speaker 10 (22:53):
With one limb.

Speaker 25 (22:54):
His leg was missing, he lost several fingers and his
foot was missing on the other side. So when I
tell you, this is serious and I appreciate what you're doing.
I know we work very closely with Lee as well
on health and wellness. But I just want to thank
all the positions. I've worked with a healthcare organization for
many years, and Seawan's working on specifically health disparities and

(23:17):
education is Kenny. It is absolutely key, So I want
to thank you for that.

Speaker 18 (23:22):
I remember one.

Speaker 3 (23:23):
My name is Richard Walker, and I and head coach
for the TAP of Obesity Program. I want the first
of all, thank you for making the first step in
the journey to your overall wellness, and that's taking it
time to get this information. Let me tell you a
little bit by myself. I remember this journey myself. I
teach from testimony, not from theory. I've been where you are,

(23:46):
and I'm at where you want to be, and I
continue my journey every day. I learn things every day.
I learned from people that I coach. I learned from
people that coach me. I learned from people's failures. I
learned for successes also from my own. I can teach
you the right way to do things, and we'll help
you overcome barriers, will break hurdles, will break plateaus, we'll
figure this thing out.

Speaker 26 (24:07):
Well.

Speaker 3 (24:07):
One thing we all know as sports fans or just
in life in general, you're not gonna get where you
want to go unless you have someone to teach you.
Everyone's had a mentor someone that's taking them by the hand,
or there'd be a coach, a professor, someone that taught
them to business, someone that taught them how to be successful.
I can do that for you because I've been where

(24:29):
you be, where you want to be. I've been where
you're at right now. I've had those knights where you
feel like you're tracking your body and there's no way out.
I've had those knights where you're eating uncontrollably and you
don't know why. I've been through all the story begues.
I continue to go through them as well, but I
know strategies to help you overcome them. I can help
you get to your goal. That's why you should select

(24:51):
me as your coach. My name is Richard Walker. I
coach from testimony to national theory. You pick me, We'll
get to the finish line together.

Speaker 11 (25:00):
Join the Tackle Obesity team.

Speaker 2 (25:02):
Now Quinton and Whitney, Wheeler explains the importance of having
a coach.

Speaker 10 (25:11):
Having a coach, actually, it is a great thing to
be honest with you in my mind, because the coach
is gonna always hold you accountable. A coach ain't gonna
be your friend. A coach is gonna tell you the
truth no matter what happens, and he's gonna basically he
or she are going to motivation to be able to
be a better person. No matter how mad you get
at them, no matter how much you want to maybe

(25:34):
yell and curse them out, they gonna still be the
same person. They gonna come back the next day, you
ready to work harder than what you did yesterday, and
you ain't gonna have no choice but to respect them
and continues to to do what you do with them exactly.

Speaker 16 (25:47):
I actually have a coach and a mentor, and both
of them are so important. It's such an important part
of your journey. And a coach holds you accountable. And
you want to find you a coach that has already
accomplished what you want to accomplish, so they're able to
see things that you're not able to see. If you
get you a coach that have already walked the path,

(26:09):
so your path can be easier. So get you someone
that can speak life into you, someone that can guide you,
someone that has a system that's going to work for you. Right,
So having a coach and a mentor. A mentor more
so helps me with mindset and that spiritual walking. Then
my coach, of course, not just the weight loss coach,

(26:29):
but just the overall business coach, business experience. So if
that's something that you have been hesitant about investing yourself,
it's a seed. I know coaches are free, but when
you sow a scene, you can expect the harvest, right,
So a scene gets you a cold and I promise
you it to be life changing.

Speaker 2 (26:49):
Mike Gullick for Tackle obesity.

Speaker 18 (26:52):
People talk about diabetes. Oh, you're just lazy to let yourself,
you know, get overweight, and this is what happened. You know,
It's like you know, I don't accept that now. Certainly
at times you can eat better, but you know that
the heredity factor can be involved as well. Either way,
if you have it, like I said, there's no sense
in now arguing, complaining whatever, do something now you have it.

(27:17):
So the one thing that I've learned about type two
diabetes is obviously you can manage it, but if you
let it go and start letting things happen, the things
that can happen to you, from eyes toes, from different
things are permanent. You can lose your site, you could
have to get your toes amputated, and you can start
losing functioning things on you that you now can't get back.

(27:39):
That's a daunting thing. So you don't want to screw
around with that. You know, you want to make sure
you're hitting the parameters. You do, and we're all humans.
Sometimes I don't, but I try to get back on
track as best I can as soon as I can,
because I know it can go down a road eventually
that I can't come back from.

Speaker 2 (27:57):
Richard Walker speaks on why having a wellness coach is important.

Speaker 3 (28:02):
It is so much different having a coach because most
of us lie to ourselves. Know there's there's most of
us there's just we don't have the ability to be
brutally honest with ourselves, and having that lack of accountability
is where we fail. Sometimes. This is the voice in
your head that says, ah, you know what, I don't
need to be on the die to day, and you

(28:23):
know what, I don't need to exercise to day. When
you have someone from outside of your head that sees
you and sees what you're going through and sees how
you're behaving and they're able to point that out to you,
and then you also have to answer this person as
to you know why you didn't accomplish your goal for
that day. It creates successful accountability. That's the biggest thing

(28:44):
that I think a lot of us are mission is
just not having someone to pous this off of so
that we can see, hey, I'm not doing what I
what I was supposed to be doing. Let me get
back on track.

Speaker 2 (28:54):
Reggie Brown speaks on why having a wellness coach is important.

Speaker 19 (28:59):
I tell people, and I've been I've been saying this,
how is life having a coach?

Speaker 20 (29:04):
Well, everybody is doing something good or doing something special
has a coach.

Speaker 19 (29:11):
Everybody needs a coach. I don't care what you do.
Mother Jordan had a coach, Jordan, and we've had a coach, Reggie,
Brian got a coach. Until I got a coach about
working on my way, it wasn't working. But now that
I got a coach, man, look now we want to go.

Speaker 3 (29:29):
All right.

Speaker 13 (29:29):
This is Dick Buckets and speaking for tackleobesity dot com.
You know what you are having trouble with your wave
like everybody does.

Speaker 5 (29:39):
This is a website you can go and learn something
about controlling your way again.

Speaker 21 (29:44):
Tackleobesity dot com.

Speaker 11 (29:50):
Ready to take control of your health and conquer obesity.
Join Tackle Obesity now, get coached by an NFL alumni free. Yes,
you heard it right. While others pay thousands for coaching,
our NFL alumni are here to support you without the cost.
Who knows exactly what it takes to tackle obesity. It's

(30:13):
your time to make a change. Join now, go to
tackleobesity dot com. Together we can score a victory against obesity.

Speaker 3 (30:37):
Well, one of the key things that you brought up
con and I want to go back to this is
the Moniker Caring for gears. And we know as players,
as athletes, we're the now, but we also have to
be prepared to pass the baton to the next generation.
So I wanted to talk to you, you know, as
a director of the NFL Alumni Willness for our health program,

(30:57):
the program that we have to reach out to the
youth of America because we have a serious issue with
our youth in America. We have currently around a forty
percent obesity rate amongst our youth. So talk to the
folks at home about the programs that we have, the
outreach and just the importance of managing your child's nutrition,
keeping them on a healthy track, and just keeping them

(31:19):
focused on then just being in the overall state of
great willness, then through to the NFL umni program.

Speaker 24 (31:25):
Look, I mean, I think it starts with us. We've
got to take care of ourselves, so we can be
the ambassador to say, hey, here's the pathway right.

Speaker 6 (31:33):
Look, it's inside of us. We know where this is.
We played football.

Speaker 24 (31:37):
We're in a career that taught us how to eat, workout,
and then there becomes another life which is post football.
So we know it's in us. But you've got to
start to and build that regiment. We need physicians to
come along the side and say what's the newest and
latest technology, what's the newest and latest data? Say, and
then we can carry that message back so that we

(31:59):
know ourselves what we should be telling our kids. And
that's what we're so excited about the Healthy Core because
that's what Healthy Core is going.

Speaker 3 (32:05):
To teach us.

Speaker 6 (32:06):
Right, So we can't do it on our own. I
don't want to do it on our own. It's too heavy.
Healthcare is very complex, you know.

Speaker 24 (32:13):
Outside of the NFL Alumni, which I spent a lot
of time, I have a healthcare company and it's post discharges, a.

Speaker 18 (32:18):
Lot of follow up care calls.

Speaker 24 (32:20):
It's complex from everywhere around all the walks of life.
There's not one solution, but collectively we can be a
messenger and we can find that message and then it
comes to the kids and those kids through doctor well,
through your your foundation. You have a great message to tell.

Speaker 3 (32:36):
Thank you.

Speaker 6 (32:37):
Cod Now I got a gift for everybody. Can I
give it to them?

Speaker 3 (32:40):
Ah?

Speaker 23 (32:40):
There we go Gobviously Healthcore because it's a charity, goes
out and raises money. And there's a wonderful company called
I heard they gave us a quarter million dollars this
year and they are partners of NFL Alumni. They're the
largest online helpless store in the world. And they said
that if we if you go to IRB dot com,
they sell everything supplements, if they sell baby food, pet food,
whatever you did, you put an NFL alumni is the

(33:02):
code youet fifteen percent off. So the NFL Alumni have
negotiated a discount for everyone. Is here's my voice and
is watching this program to take advantage of an NFL
alumni as the code. If you go to iharb dot
com and that way you buy healthy stuff because that's
all they sell.

Speaker 12 (33:16):
Awesome.

Speaker 3 (33:17):
Hey, thank you Doc Does and Rich and Kyle for
what you're doing. I work in the behavior health field.
We talk about tackling obesity and I lost some way
along with Rich when we did the first round of
Tackle OBC or the wellness program. But when you look
at the mental aspect, the cognitive aspect, when you see
and especially in the Native American community, because that's why

(33:38):
I work at mostly and you have those differences, but
they self esteem, the repport graduating high school going on
to the next level, the secondary education is huge because
of how they look and how they feel and how
to proceed because we've got social media issues, we got
other peer pressure issues. We've got a lot of things

(33:59):
that to fighting against these kids taking it to the
next level. Also, we got the computer generational where they
set there on the couch playing computers more so than
getting out there like we try to do with Play sixty.
Get them out there, get involved, intermeding fast as you mentioned,
that's what I do now. Oh, it's a sustainable way

(34:20):
of doing it. You can still eat and if you
eat in that period of time frame, you still will
lose weight. And you can still maintain or also lose weight.
So I command you for that one because I know
that was part of it, and I'm gonna continue to
do that because I can still give me something to
eat and still feel healthy.

Speaker 23 (34:37):
But that's a critical point. You can also be social.
You can go all with your friends. Who wants to
be at a program right can't play with your friends.
And we celebrate around food. So if you're not gonna
be able to have a good time in life, By
the way, that's the most important secret to longevity.

Speaker 6 (34:50):
Have a good time with people you like that, did y'all?

Speaker 12 (34:53):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (34:53):
You know, I'll forgive any transgression if you do that.

Speaker 23 (34:57):
Much of what you're speaking to I think, especially with
dative American part relations with health care does it a
big way resonates if the right messagers are there. That's
why the players where you guys, are so important because
if you can do it, other people can copy you
because they trust you that you know your body is
better than anybody else. So that's why com SO honored
the FO alumni has partnered up with health Core and
we I heard because we can make this happen together.

Speaker 6 (35:17):
But we all have to row the oars together.

Speaker 3 (35:19):
Absolutely, we are facing a very difficult opponent.

Speaker 18 (35:23):
Folks.

Speaker 3 (35:23):
I'm not gonna sugarcoat it. Obesity is an all pro
team of killers. There's diabetes, heart disease, stroke, cancer, you
name it. They have all pro players. But I'm happy
to say that we have all pros too, and we're
gonna meet them at the line of scrimmage through education,
through lifestyle choices, through promoting the healthy values, and then
we're gonna give them a rough for their money. And

(35:45):
this is gonna be a very interesting contest. I think
we got the team that's gonna take us where we
need to go. We need you to join the team
as well. So visit the tackle Obesity website tackle obesity
dot com. Let's tackle obesity dot com. You'll see Coach Mike,
You'll see me on there, Coach Faulkner. Doesn't matter if
you don't select us, whatever. Get help somewhere. That's the message.

(36:08):
Get help somewhere. There's a lot of information, a loud
resources out there. Partner with someone and even if you're
not in a state of be obesity yourself, you probably
know someone who's dealing with obesity and its co morbidities.
We all need to work together as a team. Everyone
has a role. Let's support each other and let's fight
the battle against obesity again. This is Richard Walker. You

(36:29):
tune in to Tackle Obesity. Thank you so much, Kyle,
Thank you Doctor Odds. As always, our amazing first team
all pros here with Tackle Obesity. We'll be right back
after this.

Speaker 2 (36:40):
Stay tuned for the Tackle Obesity Show. We'll be right back.

Out Clinton and Whitney. Wheeler explains the importance of having

Speaker 10 (38:39):
Having a coach actually is a great thing to be

ready to work harder than what you did yesterday, and
you ain't gonna have no choice but to respect them

Speaker 12 (39:12):
With them exactly.

Speaker 16 (39:14):
I actually have a coach and a mentor, and both

that's something that you have been hesitant about investing yourself.
It's a seed. I know cod is aisle free, but
when you sow a scene, you can expect the harvest. Right,
So a seed gets you a cold, and I promise
you would be life changing.

Speaker 2 (40:17):
Mike Gullick for techo obesity.

Speaker 18 (40:19):
People talk about diabetes. Oh, you're just lazy to let yourself,
you know, get overweight, and this is what happened. You know,
It's like, man, you know I don't accept that now.
Certainly at times you can eat better, but you know
that the heredity factor can be involved as well.

Speaker 3 (40:36):
Either way.

Speaker 18 (40:36):
If you have it, dear, like I said, there's no
sense in now arguing, complaining whatever, do something now you
have it. So the one thing that I've learned about
type to diabetes is obviously you can manage it, but
if you let it go and start letting things happen.
The things that can happen to you, from eyes, toes,
from different things are permanent. You can lose your site

(40:58):
and you could have to get your toes amputend. You
can start losing functioning things on you that you now
can't get back. That's a daunting thing. So you don't

it creates success. For with Kyler Goody, that's the biggest

(42:11):
thing that I think a lot of us are missing
is just not having someone that bout this off of
so that we can see, hey, I'm not doing what
I what I was supposed to be doing. Let me
get back on track.

Speaker 2 (42:22):
Reggie Brown speaks on why having a wellness coach is important.

I got a coach about working on my way, it
wasn't working. But now that I got a coach, man,
look all we want to go?

Speaker 3 (44:03):
Good afternoon everyone. This is rich Walker pro Legens Media.
We are here live at at Super Bowl fifty eight
Radio Role and I am here with two very very
very special guests. To my far right, the man, the myth,
the legend, eleven time pro bowler, Pro Football Hall of Famer,
former New Orleans Sate, former Kansas City chief, a man
Willie Roave. How are you doing today?

Speaker 12 (44:24):
Man?

Speaker 18 (44:24):
I'm doing good. Grady'll be here.

Speaker 3 (44:27):
And to my right this mountain of muscle here, it's
the sighatic hulk of a man. My good friend, mister
Russe Allen, how are you doing today?

Speaker 12 (44:35):
Terrific?

Speaker 3 (44:35):
Reg and Russ you're here, and Willie you're also here
in support of the Vents Wellness Village. So tell us
about this this new and exciting vest Welldness Village.

Speaker 27 (44:46):
Well, my partner David Harshfield, Doctor Harshfield, and I formed
a new charity that's Wellness Village and it is just
being donated a eight acre heartsel land that has a
seventy thousand perfect building on it. There we're going to
have veterans along with first responders and the injured athletes

(45:07):
live and go through therapeutic programs together. And we have
really we've asked Willie here because of his work with
actually current soldiers, and I'll.

Speaker 12 (45:17):
Let you let him tell you about that.

Speaker 22 (45:19):
Well, I'm just glad to be a part of it.
And it's going to be an Arkansas all from Palm Bluff,
so then I can go and visit and there's spensive
time there. But anytime you give back to the military,
you want to help these retired football players. You know,
I know they're giving their life on the line. We
give our body, our body of but you know it's
a lot of gift that goes into that, and they

(45:39):
deserve all the help they can give when they get
out of the Allned Forces, when they get out of
the NFL, to make sure you can equip them to
be good citizens and live a productive life. And getting
me and Bought were talking about the structure the ballance
when you're in the military. When you play football, everything
is regimented and structured in your life. And that's the
hard part of a justine to not having that structure.

(46:01):
So giving back teaching them those fundamentals and give them
that structure where they help them get off to this
start after they finished serving it on the football field
and in the military active duty.

Speaker 12 (46:12):
You know, you bring up some great points.

Speaker 27 (46:14):
There's a movie I recommend everybody watch is on Prime
and it's called MVP, and it's about merging players and
veterans and it's all about the experience that is so
common between.

Speaker 12 (46:27):
Lord see make twenty Good Vilences.

Speaker 9 (46:29):
It exactly is, and Nate was with us last night,
and so we want everybody to actually watch that film
because it gives context ever they were doing, and in
many ways it was the inspiration behind forming that.

Speaker 12 (46:43):
That's well as village the way we are.

Speaker 3 (46:46):
Well, Willie. One of the things that I know that
you did last year during this time is you travel
actually travel to Qatar and you spend time with the
men and women in serious.

Speaker 22 (46:56):
I traveled to Jordan. One of those inmates. I mean
when we sorry what those soldiers got killed a couple
of month ago, So that at that time they were
flying those F fifteens in the series. So you know,
now it's very volad to in that area Jordan, Katar
and Jaboti, East East Africa. And you got to understand,

(47:17):
I mean, any day things can change like that over there.
So what they do is they're really sacrificing their life
and putting their life on the line to help us
have the freedom we have over here. And we don't
really take that for granted until you go over there
and see how they're living in and what they give up.

Speaker 3 (47:33):
It's right, Yeah, it's just so important to you know,
support our met and Women's service and really just your
efforts in regard to taking care of our men and
women's services, showing them that they're appreciated and that they're
loved and their service matters is just so significant. We
have so many issues that go unchecked with our men
and women's service and we're excited to hear by all

(47:55):
the services that the vests well as village will offer,
you know, some physical treatment but also some mental health options,
so you know things like that. So's can you gotta
give us some details about what's going to be offered
at the VISCE Willnas Village Well.

Speaker 27 (48:09):
It combines medical services which will include regenerative medicine stem
cells at different treatments, along with wellness care which could
include things like hyperbaric oxygen, external counterpulsation and different treatment
modalities that are used both therapeutically medically but also in
a wellness of barra. And then we're gonna be working

(48:30):
with this new really partner of ours, Eager to Motivate,
which is a coaching, weight loss and lifestyle coaching company
started by a veteran.

Speaker 12 (48:43):
Twenty one year Army officer, Jeff Witherspoon.

Speaker 9 (48:47):
And he now and his team will be training our
staff how to inculcate the Eager to Motivate program then
so that not only will the people who come be
treated medically, they'll whole lifestyle will be addressed and will
be elevated.

Speaker 3 (49:05):
Well, this is just a wonderful end deal. And when
when can we expect the facility open? When when will
this be be available to the veterans and their families.

Speaker 27 (49:16):
I think local veterans will be able to be served
within two months.

Speaker 12 (49:20):
We just got the donation this week.

Speaker 27 (49:22):
Also, I wanted to mention Richard and I met through

I want you to fly down. I want you to
be a groomsman in my wedding because Minnie and I
are getting married.

Speaker 12 (49:54):
And Kay and I were able to go, and it's
been such a blessing really to be able to be together.
It was wonderful.

Speaker 2 (52:23):
Richard Walker speaks on why having a wellness coach is important.

Speaker 3 (52:27):
It is so much different having a coach because most
of us lie there ourselves know there's there's most of
us there's just we don't have the ability to be
brually honest with ourselves, and having that lack of accountability
is where we fail. Sometimes. This is the voice in
your head that says, Ah, you know what, I don't
need to be on the die to day, and you

(52:48):
know what, I don't need to exercise today. When you
have someone from outside of your head that sees you
and sees what you're going through and sees how you're behaving,
and they're able to point it out to you, and
then you also have to answer to this person as
to you know, why you didn't accomplish your goal for
that day. It creates success or Kyler Goildy. That's the

(53:09):
biggest thing that I think a lot of us are
missing is just not having somewhere that bous this off
of so that we can see, Hey, I'm not doing
what I was supposed to be doing. Let me give
you back on track. All right.

Speaker 13 (53:21):

Are You A Charlotte?

Are You A Charlotte?

In 1997, actress Kristin Davis’ life was forever changed when she took on the role of Charlotte York in Sex and the City. As we watched Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte navigate relationships in NYC, the show helped push once unacceptable conversation topics out of the shadows and altered the narrative around women and sex. We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today. "Are you a Charlotte?" is much more than just rewatching this beloved show, it brings the past and the present together as we talk with heart, humor and of course some optimism.
