Speaker 4 (00:29):
Morning everyone, thank you for tuning in. You are listening
to the Big Bank Show. And I am not Big Bank,
Big Bank, tact taptor helmet and uh he's taking a
break this week and I'll step it in for him.
So this is my name is Richard Walker. It is
a pleasure to be here with you today. In football terms,
this is what we call the substitution. So Big Bank
is taking the week off. Trust me, he's going to

(00:50):
have an amazing show for you guys this season. We're
really looking forward to all that he's got to share
with you next week. I do know that the special
special guests is going to be none otherre than Dear Canard.
That's the former Cardinal Derreck Canard. I'm gonna be joining
the Big Bank Show next We're gonna talk a whole
lot of Arizona football, gonna talk about some great things
that you can do in regard to your wellness journey.

(01:10):
Derek Hass some things that he's able to share from
being a participant from the NFL Alumni Wellness Challenge previously.
And I think it's just gonna be a very high
spirited conversation, a very energetic conversation. You guys should look
forward to them. So that will take place here next
week on the Big Bank Show here on fifteen eighty
The Fanatic. We're also doing and I'm gonna stick with
football terms here, we're also doing what we call combo block.

(01:33):
So I am the host of the Tackle of Basity podcast,
which appears on KCAA well two point five ten fifty am,
Low Miland in California. So we're doing tam shows at
once together. We're working together as a team, and ironically
we're two different markets where the teams don't like each other.
So we're gonna talk about that a little bit as well.
The Rams and the Cardinals, oh man, they're like oil

(01:54):
of water, but they're headed in the same direction and
that may or may not be a good thing. So
we'll take a little dive into that. But we're gonna
start here by just talking about now that the season
has started, this is an excellent benchmark opportunity for those
of you that are out there looking for a start
point for your wellness journey. And what I mean by
that is a lot of people use the new year

(02:15):
as the start of a fresh concept, as a part
of the what's widely known as the New Year's resolution era.
And it's never a bad time to start a wellness journey.
But statistically speaking, a statistics show that people who start
a welder's journey in the middle of the year are
more consistent, they lose more weight, and they still on
their wellness program longer than those who start at the

(02:35):
beginning of the year. Because there's a lot of trend
and a lot of fad that goes with the whole
concept of a new Year's resolution. So think of it
in terms of this. If you're a wellness journey, think
of your life as like the season, right are you
going to prepare for that season before the season starts,
or you're gonna wait until the season begins to start preparing.
So it's the same type of mindset that you should
apply to your wellness and this is the next to

(02:57):
that opportunity for you to do just that. So visit
tackleobc dot com. We have a complete, comprehensive program. Everything
that you need is there. If you need support of
a coach, more specifically, you be coached by a former
NFL alumni like myself or Big Bank or Reggie Brown,
or you know one of the guys in the program
that's that's gonna help help you get to your goal.

(03:17):
There's nothing like having a strong coach that's gonna get
you from point A to point B. And that's why
you're able to be successful, because you're gonna have someone
that's gonna held your album, that's gonna help get you
through those tough times, help you break the plateaus and
overcome barriers. And that's the whole concept of coaching. That's
why we love the game football, is that coaching is
such a critical component in order for people to be successful.

(03:38):
And you can apply that same concept to your daily life.
So visit tackleobcity dot com if you want to sign
up for coaching, that opportunity is there. Sign up for
the newsletter. And then also if you are currently on
a weldther journey, we want to hear from you, so
we want to hear the stories of you tackling obesity
so submit that to us. We'll be happy to share
your stories and tell everyone how you're tackling obesity. So

(03:59):
we're working as a team. There is there are no
requirements to make this roster other than you're commitment. We
are looking forward to everyone and anyone who's interested in
joining the Tackle of the City team by all means,
reach out to us and we will definitely bring you
on board. So you've made the team if you're listening.
That being said, we'll start off by, you know, briefly
talking about the twenty twenty three Hall of Fame class,

(04:21):
and I'd be remiss if we didn't touch on these gentlemen.
It's such a source of inspiration to hear all the
stories that propel these men to greatness, that they've oncome
so many challenges and obstacles and barriers. And you know DeMarcus,
we're even talking about, you know, him from having some
opportunities that he overcame, you know, being on the street

(04:41):
and you know, almost unfortunately almost getting involved in what
could have been like an attempted murder situation. That's a
very compelling story. It's great to see that and to
hear that, and they're really champion success. That's a great
way to start the season. I don't I don't care
what anyone says, and this is no disrespect to basketball
or baseball or any other sport, but I really think
you should start and end your season with inspiration. And

(05:04):
that is exactly what the game football does. We start
by honoring those who made the commitment major sacrifice, who
put into blood, sweating tears, and they achieved a pinnacle
of success that's so high that they are literally what
we call football heal. These men are honored because they
achieved more than what the human mind is capable of comprehending.

(05:25):
They push themselves to boundaries beyond the wells of what
we call reality, and they did it on a consistent
and high basis for so many years, so many times over,
and there were again, and they deserve those gold jackets.
Those gold jackets are symbolic of having that extra push
that ninety nine point nine percent of humans on Earth
just don't have. And you don't have to be a
Hall of Famer to be successful in life. It is

(05:47):
great that they start off by highlighting the pinnacle of success,
and this is the beacon that every player looks towards
they look toward Canton to see those gold shiny jackets
that say, hey, maybe one day that can be me.
Because there's a very small percentage that actually makes it
to the hall. Now in life, well, we don't have
an opportunity to make it to the hall, and we
don't have to have a bust of our likeness in

(06:09):
order to be successful in life. We are successful based
upon our interactions with others, based upon how the world
perceives us, based upon how we preceide ourselves, based upon
our interactions with family, friends and coworkers and relatives and associates.
And you know, the things that we leave behind is
our legacy, that's our hall of fame. And this show

(06:30):
is about the wellness component of that. So if you
think about the hall of fame journey in life, well,
part of it is how well did you live? And
you know you're only able to be here for a
limited amount of time, So why not maximize the value
that you have with your family? So if you're able
to overcome things such as obesity, that is like hall

(06:51):
of fame caliber and achievement in your life. Think about
that as we go through this journey that we call
life for those of you who might be new to
the show. As I mentioned, the goal is to provide support, resources,
motivation for those who are striving to lead a healthier lifestyle. Now,
we consider obesity to be an epidemic. When you like
to break down barriers and inspire positive change. We want

(07:13):
everyone to embrace wellness and feel empowered to make the
better choices for the health. It's a journey and we're
here to support you the entire way. Now, going back
to football, because we know that one of the things
we like to do in life is to have a
good time. We like to relax. Football is and escape
from the everyday grind of work or school or whatever.
Football is a great outlet for individuals who want to

(07:35):
escape and just relax and enjoy a very highly spirited,
highly competitive contest between some amazing athletes. As we embark
and we enjoy this game, one of the things that
happens is that, unfortunately we sometimes make very unhealthy choices
while doing so because we love the wings, the nachos,

(07:56):
the beer, the pretzels, the hot dogs, you know, all
the stuff that that that's associated the game. Food, the
trailer tailgate, food that's associated with the big Game, and
these things are part of what cause is this obesity
pandemic that we're currently experiencing in America. So where do
we draw the final line? Because there's done what you're
gonna take football and all the fun food away from America.

(08:19):
Let's just be honest for a second. We love the game,
we love the food that's associated with the game, and
we're going to continue to enjoy both. So what's the
work around here? Well, I'm glad you asked, because we're
gonna take a quick break and when we come back,
we're gonna talk about the tailgate and how to make
the tailgate break. How do you enjoy football with all
of the wonderful foods that we typically associate with, you know,

(08:41):
watching the big game and kicking back and join having
a tailgate. So we're gonna take a quick break. We're
gonna go to some messages here. We'll be back here
tuning into The Big Bank Show on fifteen eighty. The
Fanatic also simulcasts on KCAA ten fifty eight on one
oh six point five one or two point five reals.
We're working as a team to tackle obesity. This is

(09:03):
the Big Bank Show in tackle BC Podcasts. We'll be
right back after this missage.

Speaker 4 (10:56):
Welcome he everyone back to the Big Banks Show and
the Tackle of BT Show Simulcast Special simul Pass Block
the Big Feller stepping in for the one and only
Michael Bankston. My nename is Richard Walker. Thank you so
much for just staying with us now. Before we went away,
we talked about how to enjoy the big game, how
they enjoyed the game of football with all of the

(11:17):
wonderful side festivities that we like to do, in particular
the things that we like to eat during the game.
It is such a tradition in this country for us
to have things on the grill at things to eat
as we as we embrace football. And yes it's game time,
but that doesn't mean that we have to compromise our
health and wellness. So we're going to talk about some

(11:38):
healthy tailgate options, and Nimmy just add this, some healthy,
delicious tailgate options because it's important for us to have
food that we enjoy. We're not going to sugarcoat this
or coach this in any other way. We want you
to enjoy the game and enjoy the flavor that comes
with the tailgate, but we want you to do it
in a healthy banner. So we have some suggestions here

(11:59):
on things that you can do to incorporate into your
game day festivities so that you can enjoy the game
without feeling guilty. So we're gonna break these down into
different the four food groups that I feel are pertinent
to the game so that you can steal indulge in
those delicious game day treats. So we're gonna start with
the obvious, which is the proteins proteins. There are very

(12:23):
various options regards to proteins that we consume during the game.
You can do so without the rail of your health goal. So,
for example, chili, A lot of us love chili. I'm
a Southern boy, Mike's a Southern boy. Also, we really
love chili. It's just a matter of simply substituting for
a healthier version of that protein. So if you haven't

(12:43):
tried it, try turkey or chicken chili. It is amazing.
It grills the same way as beef does without the fat,
and you're able to really enjoy your chili. So in
your chili recipe, try it with lean ground turkey or
lean ground chicken. Add that to your game plan for
enjoying your tail. Give also chicken skewers, so you can

(13:05):
take chicken breast or chicken thighs on a stick with vegetables.
They are amazing over the grill. Now, one of the
things that causes problems is not the protein itself, is
what you put on the protein. So all be very
cognizant of how you season the protein and also what
type of condiments you use with it. Personally, I recommend

(13:27):
a couple of things. If you look at the label,
look at how much sodium content is in the seasoning
that you're using. There are some amazing options that are
out there. I can't even list them all, but there
are some amazing options out there that taste really good
but are low sodium. One of my favorite, and they're
not paying for this spot yet, but maybe we'll reach
out to them to do so, is what's called I

(13:49):
hope I'm pronouncing this right. Tagan TJ I M. And
this is a lemon limes flavor season that I use
when I grilled chicken, and it really brings out all
of the the flavor in that chicken when you grill it.
It has like this chipotle type taste to it. You
can squeeze some additional line on it if you really
want to get that acidic flavor. And it's very low

(14:11):
in sodium. So I'm looking at the label now. First
of all, has zero calories, which is critical. I when
you look at the sodium content, it's only one hundred
and twenty milligrams per serving it sodium. What sodium does
is sodium helps you retain one and you don't want that.
That's one of the things that's kind of productive in
your weight loss journey. So having low sodium opps. That's
just one example of a low sodium option. Look for

(14:33):
those things in your grocery stores. Read the labels. You
can also do some Google search and we're gonna post
some tackle OBESITI friendly condiments on our website, so visit
tackle obesity dot com. We'll have a list of some
TAPULOBC friendly condaments on there, so we'll put we'll put
that on there as well. There's a stir fry mix

(14:53):
that I have that I personally use and is very low.
I want to say, I don't have what in front
of me, but I want say it's somewhere in the
neighborhood of forty calories per serving, and it has a
chili like a hot sweet chili flavor to it, and
it is incredible. There are so many different options that
you can use hot sauce. Folks, if you're a hot
sauce fan, the good news is you can use all

(15:16):
of the hot sauce that you want because all use
the lower sodium is zero fat involved with that. So
there are ways to seize in your proteins so that
you can enjoy it without the without the guilt, and
without the you know, the negative effects. Another Tailgate favorite
of mine is devil eggs. Devil eggs, oh man, they
are incredible. Boil your eggs. But again it matters what

(15:37):
you put into them. So I use a olive oil
based mayonnaise. I'm not gonna put the labels out there
because well they're not paying us. But olive oil based
mayonnaise very low in canties, very low if fat, very
low a sodium it is. It tastes great. It literally
tastes just like the regular maynonaise you they all. They
are also low sodium options for mustard for those who

(16:00):
like to put mustard into your devil legs and again seasoning.
I in particular, I have an alipenio based salt that
I used that has no carbs, no calories, and super
low sodium and that's what I used to bring out
the flavory. And of course pepper. You can have all
the pepper that you want, you know, when you're making
your devile legg mix. So these are just examples of
things that you can do for proteins to really make

(16:22):
them stand out at your tailgate. And of course does
not forget that you can still have chicken wings, you
can still have steak. These are things that you know,
we love to enjoy during the games. Again, it's about
what you put in on how you prepare. Now wings
are typically either grilled or which is not bad. You
know you can you can put wings on the pit

(16:43):
and smoke them. Again focusing on the correct type of
seasoning so that you're not bringing into minch sodium into
the equation. But more importantly, the fried version is where
we start to have prods and fry foods are very high,
in fact very high and so be very high in
cholesterol and they're just really kind of productive for a

(17:04):
wellness journey. But We love the crunch, we love the
taste of wings. We love to dip them in wretch,
which is also you know, could be very fattening as
well if you're not very careful, so you got to
double WHEMMI here, But we love wings and we're gonna
eat them during the game. And I'm not discouraging you
from youself. I just want to teach you a different
way to do so, so you will see on our
website I will post a video. But what I call

(17:25):
coach Walker's wings, and I make wings in my air
fryer with no salt, no flour, no grease, and they
have the same crunch, they have the same texture, and
they are amazing. And they're available in so many different
flavors that you can make. There's an orange flavor, lemon lime,
you can have, barbecue, you name it. I will teach
you how you can make these wings, and just a

(17:48):
little bit over twenty to twenty five minutes or so,
so we'll post that video on the tackle of BC's website.
Is literally I can't have I can't go back to
the old. Wait. I'm additching myself to joy the coach
Walker wings because in my opinion, they taste better than
the fried wings, and I know that when I'm eating them,
I'm not I'm not causing any damage to myself because

(18:10):
they're prepared with things that are healthy in nature that
are going to call my arteries or raise my blood pressure.
You know, we'll we'll post that video on the website
tackle obesity, do coll So that's proteins again. Burgers, Oh,
I can, I forget burgers. That's one of the one
of the tailgating favorites. There are turkey burgers. They're available, delicious,

(18:30):
they are low fat beef burgers. I recommend if you can,
if you get a grill burgers, start with fresh meat.
Not not the panties that already meet. Start with fresh meat.
Starts personally, I use a combination of turkey and beef
because you want a little bit of fat in there
so that it's not completely dry. I get the ninety

(18:50):
three seven, which is the ninety three percent lean turkey,
and it has great consistency and great flavor, but it's
it's very little fat, and I mixed in probably for
every two portions of turkey, I mixing one portion of beef.
And that's how I ration a ratio to beef, so
I still had the same beefy kick. I still have
the same charring that we like. We like those grill

(19:12):
marks on our burgers. I still season it, as I
mentioned before, with options that are not going to create
you know, a sodium of surplus and my diet and
then also after the grill, I'm very careful about what
condiments I put on it. So I'll put together an
example of a burger for you on the Tackle of
be City website. Think about the carbs as well. The

(19:33):
bun is a major source of issues when it comes
to as a potastes to a wellness journey. The bun,
the cheese, the condiments are critical components of things that
you should look for. But you can still enjoy a
delicious burger while you enjoy the game. We'll show you
a different way to work with that, so visit tackle
obesity dot com. I also want to put this out

(19:54):
there if you have ideas we want to hear. This
is a two way shelf, So if you have ideas
as to things that you like for us to test,
or you know something that works, send us an email,
send us a shout out, go to the tackle bcity website.
Share it with us. Your stories are things that you've
changed as you've gone through your wellness journey and how
you accommodate it. Because your flavor profile will never change.

(20:17):
You are who you are. If you're a high protein person,
that's who you will always be. If you're someone who
likes sugary sweet things, that's who you're gonna be. If
you someone who likes spicy foods or sweets or whatever,
that's who you're gonna be. So what you have to
do is tailor your nutrition program to meet your flavor profile.
And that's where you see a significant increase in success

(20:38):
because what happens, unfortunately is a lot of people they
will have a disc what I call a discipline threshold,
which means they will step out of their flavor profile.
They will almost pitch their nose or ignore the fact
that they are not really attracted to the food that
they're eating, and they will suck it up and deal
with it. But there's a threshold as to how long
you're gonna stay within that discipline of brackets, so to speak.

(21:03):
And what happens is the moment that they get something
that reminds them of their flavor profile, they step out
and this is what we call falling off the wagon.
This is where you get that one person who gives
you a sample of something. Oh my goodness, that was good. Now,
let me just have another one. Let me just have
another one. Let me just have another one. Oh, I'm
just gonna do just one cheat meal for today. Oh

(21:23):
I'm just gonna take today off and I'll just do
I'll get back all tomorrow. Next thing, you know, your
back off of your willness journey because you found your
beacon is that flavor profile that we all have embedded
in us. So if you incorporate your flavor profile into
your wellness journey, this is how you stay on track
because you're not changing. It's the same as a football team.

(21:46):
If you're a defensive minded football team, you change out
some of the personnel, the philosophy of the team doesn't change.
We need to stick with your philosophy as to who
you are as a person as it pertains to your
your flavor profile. So it's critical that you don't deda
from that and just be honest with yourself. You're gonna
have to try some things that you know you haven't
done before. Some things you're gonna like some of you

(22:08):
aren't and if it's okay to acknowledge, Okay, this didn't
work out. It's the same as making adjustments in football. Okay,
we tried to blitz, we capped eat on this one.
Let's let's try something different next time. So it's a
number of different ways that you can stay on track,
and again, staying within your flavor profile is a critical
component of the success. So we're gonna take a brief break.

(22:29):
When we come back, we're gonna move on to the
next portion of the tailgate of second Here we're gonna
talk about some of the snacks, some of the snacks,
some of the size snacks that they come into play. Again,
you're tuning into the Big Bank Show. My name is
Richard Walker. I've setting in for the big guy this week.
They got the offensive alignment doing the defensive alignment's job.
But that's okay. Sometimes you gotta switch and play to

(22:51):
the other side of the ball. It is what it is.

So we were talking about to Gate food and how
they enjoy the big game without causing the damage and
all the bad things from you know, making poor decisions
and poor choices when you enjoying the game. So I'm
gonna step away for a little bit because I know
that the Cardiff fans, I promise you that we're going
to give you a brief preview of what to expect
for the season that the Cardinals. If you're listening to this,

(26:22):
the Cardinals are scheduled to take the field on Sunday
and they have a lot of things, a lot of
unanswered questions coming into the season. So I'm gonna briefly
touch on that, trying to give you a bit of
what to expect for the twenty twenty three season. And
as I mentioned, we're also going to have Derek Canard
on with the Big Guy next week, so they're gonna
definitely talk a bit more in debt. You know talking

(26:44):
about the season, so briefly, we know that. The first
thing is that there has been a coaching change. Cliff
Kingsbury is no longer the coach of the Arizona Cardinals.
I think a lot of you are perfectly okay with it.
And there's a new regime. Intu, there's a new mine,
there's a new philosophy, and I apologize. It's actually I
forgot to look at the schedule, so if you're listening

(27:05):
to this, it is now. The Cardinals did play the Broncos,
and this is recorded before the Broncos game, so they
did play the Broncos on August the eleventh. I don't
have the results of that, but I think what you'll
see is just a lot of moving parts with this organization.
It's crazy as it solves. One of the question marks
that I have for this team is the quarterback position,

(27:26):
which shouldn't be a quarterback because shouldn't be a question
mark because you have a franchise quarterback and Kyler Murray.
But his health is a major area of concern, and
this is where a lot of people are gonna look
to see what he's gotten his contract. He's at the
point to where you know, you're gotta find out exactly
what he's made of as a quarterback. You know, he's

(27:46):
shown flashes of greatness, but at age twenty six, I
think he's at the point of where these are gonna
be entering his prime years, and I think we go
we gotta find out very quickly with or not he's
he's gonna take the reins as the franchise quarterback and
move the team forward, or if he's going to regress,
and then you know, ultimately the Cardinals may decide to
go in a different direction. He has lost a lot

(28:08):
of weapons. DeAndre Hopkins leaving Twell is a critical blow
to this offense. I don't care what anyone says. DeAndre
Hopkins is a world beater. He's a All Pro receiver,
He's a sure handed receiver. He still has the ability
to create separation and get open in space, and he
is going to be an asset that's very difficult to
replace with this current roster. As no offense to any

(28:31):
of them, but none of these guys, you know, stick
out as a as a DeAndre Hopkins type. So that's
going into the season with a question mark about your
quarterbacks health, and you know his ability to return, and
then having the loss of a top in my opinion,
top five receiver and a veteran prisons in that locker
room is going to be a huge opportunity that they're

(28:53):
going to have to overcome this year. They do have
a new head coach and he comes from the Philadelphia Eagles.
I think thehilosophy of the organization it's going to change.
So they are gonna shift from a offensive minded team
under Kingsbury to more of a defensive line a defensive
minded philosophy under new head coach Jonathan Gannett. That Jonathan

(29:15):
gannon was the former coordinator for the Philadelphia Eagles. He
was defensive coordinator. He's had top ten defenses in two
of the last three seasons with the Eagles. He also
had a stellar defensive presence with the Indianapolis coach with
coach Els DB's he had a couple of Pro Bowl
defensive backs that he coached there. He was also a

(29:36):
defensive quality control coach with the Titans back in twenty twelve.
So he is a premier defensive guy. That is his
bread and butter. He is. His entire career has been
centered around defense, and I think this where they're kind
of shifting to focus on. And again, this is no
offense to you know, Kyler Murray and that offense. But
I think that they are focusing more on the defensive

(29:58):
side of the ball and the end you know what
upgrades they can make there. I think that this team
has a lot of questions. They're aging a little bit
in the secondary. You got a guy like Bludda Baker
who's an outstanding player, but you know he's got you
got a few miles on the engineer. So it's gonna
be interesting to see what happens this season in that
division because the only team coming in, in my opinion,

(30:21):
that's on a Super Bowl competitive level, at least based
calon what we saw last year is the forty nine Ers,
and they have their own questions to answer with the
health of Rock Purdy and what or not Trey LANs
is going to be the guy that they go with.
But I think the lodge part of the teams beneath
the forty nine ers can really make things interesting. And
the Cardinals are one of those teams that if they

(30:42):
can really get things together on the defensive side of
the ball and not have such a demand or such
an appetite for offense. This team can win some football
games as is, and then you build upon that. So
I see the opportunity for this to be a team
that can win eight or nine game teams possibly and
you know, make things, you know interesting in otherwise really

(31:05):
not competitive division. You have the Rams, who are coming
back from a very disappointed season where they also lost
a number of key players. They have questions on their future.
They definitely have questions on the quarterback because they've been
rumors of you know, Matt Stafford being shot in the offseason,
but you know they're not being any takers. So two,
three or four positions in the division are interchangeable. And

(31:27):
if the forty nine ers don't answer their questioning the
quarterback and they don't have the insurance policy of Jimmy
Garoppolo anymore, I think that this is one of those
divisions that, you know, really could be a surprise to
a lot of people this year. So don't be shocked if,
for some reason, somehow we have a different NFC West
champion this year. So I just wanted to step away

(31:48):
and just kind of give the Cardinal fans a little
bit of, well, what to expect we're going to take
a little deeper dive into the rams here a little
bit before we leave for today, let's kind of give
you a little to use a pun to go all
with what we're doing here, just to put up put
a little bit of seasoning on the chicken, so to speak.
And again, you know, Mike and Derek Canard, they're gonna
talk a way more debt into Cardinal football next week,

(32:10):
so you'll be able to enjoy that along with you know,
the next episode of The Big Bang Show. So we're
going to go back to what we were discussing for
and this. These are different ways that you can enjoy
the tailgate without causing the damage Solus. When we started
off by talking about the proteins in a different way,
you can enjoy your proteins. But now we're want to

(32:31):
talk about the snacks. So when it comes to snacks
and nibbles, here are a couple of things that you
can enjoy. Now we know that snacks are typically penis
popcorn for some of you, you know, crackerjack, nachos. These
are all things that are very high carbohydrates. Carbohydrates are
not very good for you because they help to store

(32:53):
fat and we're not talking about healthy carbohydrates here, so
that's the issue is how do we replace those things
that we like to nibble age in the game. So
here's some different options. One of my favorite is dehydrated free.
It's a fantastic option, very light, very tasty, very easy
to enjoy. It is a very healthy alternative to your
traditional game day snacks. And for those of you who

(33:15):
have crunchy cravings. One of my favorite recipes, and again
this will be shared on the Tackle Obesity website. I'm
an onion ring and french fried guy. One of the
ways that I enjoy my onion rings is air fried,
again with no grease, no salt. But the alternative that
hack that I use is I use almond flour instead

(33:37):
of traditional flour because it is significantly lower and carbohydrates,
it still has the ability to have that same texture
and crutch and you will enjoy your onion rings just
as you did before. There's also ways that you can do.
I use the zucchini fries in a different matter similar
to that with the olive flour as the coding. So

(34:00):
I'll post those on the Tackle Obesity website for you
to enjoy as well. There are a number of different satisfying,
craving alternatives that you can have and enjoy during during
the tailgate and still watch the game. Fiji sticks are
always a popular one. Real veggies are are fantastic and
they can be as I mentioned a part of the

(34:20):
skewers or things like that. There are a number of
food options as well that you can use and we'll
list those on the Tackle of bsity website as well.
So it's all about having fun. It's all about keeping
the change moving, so to speak, as it pertains to
your wellness and you don't want to be bored and
be left out and be the lonely kid that's not

(34:42):
you know, a part of the tailgate festivities. So we're
gonna put together as I mentioned, this tailgating menu and
if we post it on the tackle of BC website
for you to follow, light share and subscribe as well.
And if you have suggestions for things that you would
like to see incorporated into the tailgate men you or
if you have things that you're currently using, please share

(35:04):
that with us. We want to grow a library. You
want this thing to be where anyone who's interested in
different ways of making things for the tailgate. We think
of it like a huge problem, a huge healthy pop
look where everyone's bringing something healthy and wealthy to the
table and we're just gonna all share the goodness and
enjoy the game and enjoy the festilities and Jordia's tailgate

(35:25):
and a healthy man. So you're tuned into the Big
Bank Show. My name is Richard Walker, and make sure
you visit back again. Tackle obcd dot com like, share

talk about the next components of the tailgate and we'll
be back right after this year. You tune into the

All right, and we are back on the Big Bank Show.
My name is rich Walker, stepping in for the Big
Guy this week tapped his helmet out, but he will
be back next week, joining you here on the Big
Bank Show Off fifteen eighty The Fanatic. We're also doing
a very special assigning pass today with our partners over
in California Riverside at Casey ten fifty one oh six

(38:22):
point five one or two point five FM the station
at least you know listen behind so you get the
best of both worlds today. So before we went to break,
we briefly spoke about the Arizona Cardinals and what to
expect for this season. I do want to spend sending
a shout out as a Houston guy myself to Clayton Tone,
who will be the starting the season as the backup

(38:42):
quarterback for the Cardinals. And this is a guy I
think Cardiff is really shitting brace because he's a He's
a smart, tough football player. He has a number of
years of experience under his belt. He's won some incredible
games for us here in Houston, and I think he's
going to be an asset to the organization. He's definitely
going to bring a lot of things to that quarterback
film rule and when called, he'll be ready. So you

(39:03):
guys should be excited to have him as a member
of the Cardinals organization. I think he's gonna do some
great things and he's gonna be a guy that's going
to be around that organization in the league for a
number of years to come. So that being said, I'm
gonna briefly pivot to the Los Angeles Williams. Oh Man.
What a drastic change of events that took place there
with that organization over the past year. They won the

(39:26):
Super Bowl in twenty twenty one, coming off of a
great season, they were able to overcome the Bengals and
win that Super Bowl, where, boy or boy, that things
changed for the worst the following season in twenty twenty two,
in addition to injuries to Cooper cub and a number
of other key players. The first thing was the first
glaring loss was Von Miller leaving a free agency going

(39:49):
to the Bills. And you know, it's just something about
a guy that can change your playbook offensively speaking, and
von Miller that kind of player. He's that kind of guy.
It's like a hurricane at cleate. He comes off the edge.
You have to you have to find him on the field.
Your quarterback is looking for this guy for every play
and you know, no offense to anyone else. Of course,

(40:11):
Aaron Donald is an All World He's an All defensive tackle,
and he's the guy that's in the conversation for in
my opinion, top ten defensive player of all time. He's
definitely going to the Hall of Fame. He is being
one of the most disruptive forces ever to play on
a football field. From a defensive perspective, he's a phenomenal

(40:31):
player and he's still well within the prime of his career.
But you got to have the guy that comes off
the edge, and that's where you create cramos for an offense.
When you have a guy who dis rupts the tackles,
who gets to the backfield and just rupts the quarterbacks
timing and puts pressure on him and puts hits on him,
that really throws out the timing between the quarterback and

(40:52):
the receivers. And that's where you saw that that opportunistic
defense of the course with a world beater like Jalen
Ramsey who was out there on the corner, you know,
taking full advantage of the past rushed deep as generated
by Von Miller. That's no longer there Jalen Ramsey is
no longer there as well. He's now Miamy Dolphins. So
there was just so many losses with the Rams. I
think they just took a huge step backwards. There were

(41:14):
even rumors of coach Sean McVay retiring in the offseason,
and you know, to his credit, he very quickly dispelled
those rumors. But I think without any question that this
is not the same type of Rams team that we
saw go to the Super Bowl once and you know,
didn't get deal done. A few years later they were
terry and dig gets deal done. This team's rebuilding. I

(41:35):
don't know. I was just to say, am fans, but
I'm sorry. That's just the cold, hard fact is that
this team is in a rebuilding rode. They may not
advertise it as such, but there's definitely too many oles
in that organization for them not to be in a
rebuilding phase. First and foremost, you have questions about your quarterback,
and there are very strong rumors and reports that they
tried to shop Matt Stafford in the offseason. They just

(41:58):
didn't get any takers up with very big contract. They're
paying the tab now for that Super Bowl, which, in
might opinion as as a as a pretast to success.
You know you're gonna pay the tab for it at
some point. The way that the salary cap works and
the way that free free agency is structured, you're gonna
win now and pay later. He beat it in the
form of salary cap space, where you're you're gonna have

(42:19):
to get rid of some veteran players or you're gonna
give up draft capital and at some point your pipeline
of talent is gonna dry. But that's the price you
pay to win the Super Bowl. So you know, if
you're a fan, then you ride the wave. You want.
You cheer where they win, and you you hank her
down and ride ride the wave when they lose. But
that's just a part of the game. So rams have
a very very long season ahead to know. I'm just

(42:41):
gonna just gonna be very honest. That's just what you know. Rafts.
They'll prove me wrong. But I just don't see where
this team is gonna be competitive, especially with the Cardinals,
you know, starting a new head coach, a new defensive
minded philosophy. They're getting Kyler Murray back. Hopefully in uh
he'll be able to return the four or even though
they lost some key pieces on offense, I think there's

(43:02):
still a better overall football team than the Rams are.
The Seahawks were a huge surprise last year, and none
other than Geno Smith, who, in my opinion, for a
significant portion of the season was even in the MVP conversation.
He had a great year. They have a lot of
young talent on that that Seahawks team, and they're hungary.
So they're a team that I think is on the rise.

(43:25):
They can they can surprise the fuck the end this year,
and it would surprise me if they're at a minimum
a playoff team and they can compete for the division
because the forty nine ers, who are a superman one
of the Super Bowl favorites. But they still have questions
at the quarterback position. Are they gonna go with Trey Les,
Are they gonna go with Brod Purdy if he's healthy,
or does the playoff season someone else that we don't

(43:47):
know about that they may decide to go with. So
it's gonna be a very interesting season, to say the
least in the in the NFC West. And you know,
we'll be here for it. We'll we'll you know, talk
about it a bit here on the Big Bans Show.
You know, my full is a Cardinals guy. You know,
he can tell you a lot of the intricacies about
this organization and he's going to have some guests on
that will share their opinions on it as well. So

(44:09):
continue to stay tuned. Will be a little bit of football,
a little bit of a little bit of fitness on
this show. So before we went to break, we're speaking
about things that you can do to make the tailgate
rate without causing the damage. So we spoke about the proteins,
we spoke about the snacks. Now I want to talk
about the sides, the side dishes. These are the things

(44:30):
that also add the extra powers on. So you have
your proteins, you have your snacks that you nibble on.
What about the side dishes, things such as the potato salads,
the French fries. These are things that add a lot
to a wellness They have a lot of challenge to
a wellness program because they're so high and fatty cars.
So I want to talk about some different creative ways

(44:52):
that you can enjoy some classic favorites with a nutritious twist.
The first thing that I have on my list is
green bean steps you can take green bean sticks. You can,
as I think I previously mentioned, you can coat them
with almond flour at airfryums. They have a delicious texture,
nice flavorful crunch, and at the same time they're healthy
for you. You can also air f califlower wings, or

(45:13):
you can do a cauliflower or roccoli based pizza, which
is one of my favorites. I literally favor rocci based
pizza over you know, the traditional pizza now because I've
gotten used to how delicious it tastes. And you still
have the same bonus. You still have your amazing pizza sauce.
You have your cheese, which they're all low fat cheese
options as well. There there and again we'll we'll post

(45:36):
all the components on the website for this. You can
still have your pepperoni, it's a protein. There are low
sodium options from Proto for prepparona. You can have chicken.
I'm definitely a chicken pizza guy, so you can grill
that save real chicken that we mentioned before earlier in
the show. You can have some of that on your pizza.
So think of any protein that that you you like
can go on your on your pizza. You have a

(45:58):
broccoli based you have to made us of aust you
have cheese and in your choice of proteins. Adi. I'm
telling you it is a delicious dish. You can use
the power Poli flower based or the broccoli based. Will
show you how to do that on the tap of
of Becity website. It is amazing. It is incredible. It's
very formal, and it also has a very good shelf

(46:19):
life because I actually made a huge portion of broccoli
pizza and I portioned it out so that I will
have meals for the entire week. So and it is
I'm telling you, folks, you will. You will really enjoy it.
It's just simple things like that you can do and
enjoy the game and still have that part of your
your flavor palette, your flavor profile will be satisfied. Another

(46:41):
option that I wanted to talk about us as I
mentioned that the broccoli pizza, but also stir fris. Stir
fries are amazing if you're a fan of Asian food.
It is an incredible alternative that you can use for
for a tailgate for popular any combination of green vegetables
and proteins with a stir fry sauce it's very easy

(47:03):
to make, and it's very satisfying, and it is a
great game, top snack game, top food. I should say,
you can make bowls, you can make salads with it.
There are a number of things that you can do,
but what you want to avoid are the high cars,
the high sugar, and the high soviet. So these are
things that you look for to try to avoid as
you're making your stir fry. But there are a number

(47:24):
of different options that you will just totally thoroughly enjoy
and they're very low cost options as well, so gives
you a little bit of breathing room for your budget
and you can still enjoy some delicious meals as you
tailgate and enjoy day. So we talked about proteins, we
talked about the snacks, we talked about the size. One
of the hidden pitfalls of a tailgate is what you drink.

(47:46):
And the rule of thumb that I always use is
that you want to drink as few calories as possible,
because when you're drinking, you don't think about calories. You know,
you think about Okay, I've eaten a large portion. Know
this isn't right, But we drink sometimes not just to
qunch out thirst. We drink socially, so like we'll have
a beverage in our hand as we talk, or we'll

(48:08):
get extra drink. And what happens is that you're consuming
large portions of liquid which you know, first of all,
doesn't have the filling quality. You know, it says something
that you eat, but it still has the sodium, which
a lot of people don't know. Soft drinks, for example,
very hot in sodium. Also, even you sports drinks, your AID,

(48:30):
I'll just say dash AID like AID. I won't mention
the names, but you know what they are. And this
is the same type of beverages that you know you
see your your favorite athletes drinking on sidlides, you know,
to replace us, their their their electrolytes. A lot of
people partaking these drinks while watching the game, and if
you read those labels, you would be very shocked to
see that there's a a very high amount of sodium

(48:53):
as well as sugars and those drinks. And that's where
a lot of the deceptive. The deception is that you know,
you think that these drinks are healthy, and a lot
of the fruit juices are very high as sugar, so
you think that you're drinking an orange juice or an
apple juice or whever, and you're actually drinking a very
high amount of sugar or even worse, high fruit toast
orange syrup or something like that. These are things that

(49:15):
you need to watch. So my suggestion for that is
look for the low calorie or zero calorie preferable versions
of your favorite drinks. Now, I aim a big kid
and I like flavored drinks. I am a Sonic Ocean
Water guy. There is a zero calorie replacement for the

(49:36):
Sonic Ocean Water and they have a single syrud packets
or in front of a coal correct that you can
also make it by the jug and it literally tastes
the same. You can ice it down, you can crush it,
make it slushy, whatever, but they have the packs that
you just add to water and it has that same taste. Again,
it's about satisfying your flavor profile without doing the damage,
and that's where you're able to stay on the wagon.

(49:59):
That's stay on the plaid a, enjoy the game with
your Phraser family, and still be able to progress as
it pertains to your wellness. So definitely check those options
out as well. You can have an amazing tail d
with amazing food at an amazing time, and at George Football,

but instead we should see them as a book mark
in our lives, giving us guidance to achieve our goals

(52:30):
word for today, drive for greatest. You just had the
Pro Football Hall of Fame, and as I mentioned, the
NFL starts it ends the season with inspiration and you
can do the same. Start off with the inspiration of
the Pro Football Hall of famers being recognized for their
greatness throughout their careers, and it ends with the greatest
game of the season, the pinnacle of the team accomplishment,

(52:52):
which is that Super Bowl. And I think that you
if you book in your life with goals to inspire
you on both ends of your journey, you could the
process you'll have season after season after season and success,
and it will help you to move forward and your
goals and your aspirations and live a long, healthy, happy
life that you can enjoy with your friends and family. Again,

Are You A Charlotte?

Are You A Charlotte?

In 1997, actress Kristin Davis’ life was forever changed when she took on the role of Charlotte York in Sex and the City. As we watched Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte navigate relationships in NYC, the show helped push once unacceptable conversation topics out of the shadows and altered the narrative around women and sex. We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today. "Are you a Charlotte?" is much more than just rewatching this beloved show, it brings the past and the present together as we talk with heart, humor and of course some optimism.
