Speaker 1 (02:05):
Mo yah.
Speaker 2 (05:02):
H h h h.
Speaker 3 (05:20):
H m.
Speaker 4 (05:30):
Hm.
Speaker 1 (05:38):
We are Loly. Hello.
Speaker 4 (05:41):
Welcome to episode two of the WAZ podcast TACKI Toaster
Tray Club. Hello Riley, welcome back to another episode. We
have some interesting topics today, and none of them well
I say, I was going to say it wasn't anything
to with Nintendo, but actually it might. I don't know
(06:07):
if they're going to have a Nintendo.
Speaker 1 (06:09):
We don't know that well about Nintendo. Then come on
out with it.
Speaker 4 (06:15):
Well, no, I'm talking about the Universal Studios in the
UK thing potential thing we might have maybe.
Speaker 1 (06:23):
Because of course, do they have Nintendo stuff there or
is that just a separate.
Speaker 4 (06:27):
Yeah, the Florida and Japan one has I think it's
both of them. Now has the Nintendo Land right.
Speaker 1 (06:35):
Oh, I thought it's a separate thing. I didn't realize
it was actually a Universal Studio.
Speaker 4 (06:39):
No, it's part of it. So yeah, that's so it's
my we maybe this is a Nintendo stream again.
Speaker 1 (06:51):
In the in the plans at the beginning, but they
did span I think I think.
Speaker 3 (06:59):
They've actually said or like the speculation of like if
you look at the map of what the world is
going to be anyway.
Speaker 1 (07:06):
Like well, like superhero stuff. So Spider Man was mentioned
in the news and then I when I went back
onto the news again, they'll talk about it's fame, the
land was famous for its bricks, and then I saw
a big pile of bricks.
Speaker 4 (07:24):
I feel like someone told me about the brick thing before.
I don't remember. Yeah, no, I mean like before this
news though, or maybe you did. I don't know, because
this has been coming for some time, right, Like this
has been rumored.
Speaker 1 (07:42):
It's been rumored, but like I was excited, like to
turn on the news and it's like, oh, they've actually
like going to stop, and for.
Speaker 4 (07:50):
The first time, it's like actually proper news, not just
just whatever. So so it's going to be near Bedford,
so it's like Midlands, which I guess is logical. It's
probably only a couple of hours at most from London,
so I guess that's to be expected.
Speaker 1 (08:13):
Big enough, probably free land area, I guess, because obviously
there isn't much space in Britain at the moment.
Speaker 4 (08:24):
Yeah, as you say, it's a brick it was a
brick manufacturing site that has been dormant for probably quite
a long time now. Yeah, re repurposing it the BBC
article says it's likely to feature James Bond, Paddington and
the Lord of the Rings. And I feel I would
(08:48):
really hate if they made it like overly British just
because it's in the UK.
Speaker 1 (08:53):
That's going to be a selling point, isn't it, because
for not for people who live here, but wors to
come from other countries, because like how the Japanese one
is very Japanese with all the animes. Yeah, there's a lot,
like there's Demon Slayer stuff that was exclusively there and
you know, all that kind of stuff, and then the
(09:13):
American one was very Americanized. So I think they're going
to try and the British, I think they're going to.
Speaker 4 (09:18):
The American was just that's just default. They are American
American people. The USA is Americanized. No, that's just they
probably just wanted that.
Speaker 2 (09:31):
That is just Universal Studios.
Speaker 1 (09:33):
In my head, I thought the Japanese one was the
original one, but it's not. I'm an idiot, but yeah,
it's because the Japanese did their own version of it
because they've got American stuff there and they got their
exclusive stuff as well, So I think the gimmick side
of it, they're going to like do a British kind
of a gimmick to kind of sell it more to
(09:53):
outside tourism.
Speaker 3 (09:56):
Yeah, I do think.
Speaker 2 (09:58):
I do think the Lord of Rings is that's huge
anyway like that. That's so that would be brilliant. So well, yeah,
but I mean it's a huge was it. No? No,
it's filmed in New Zealand, but obviously J. R.
Speaker 3 (10:14):
Tolkien was British and it's supposed to be loosely based
in Uh someone would be to correct me, but the
woods close to where they used to live.
Speaker 2 (10:23):
It was very much That's where like.
Speaker 3 (10:25):
The idea of Mordeal came from, not Modeal, but like
Middle Earth came from.
Speaker 1 (10:31):
Is it Sherwood forest? Robin?
Speaker 2 (10:34):
That's different part of the country.
Speaker 1 (10:37):
I went there was Robin Hood for a day, going
around with my Yeah, you were robbing who which is
because wait is that way his name Robin?
Speaker 4 (10:48):
Because he robbed? He was robbing the rich in the hood?
Speaker 2 (10:51):
Yeah, I think that's.
Speaker 1 (10:55):
I nearly spared my tea out because of that joke.
Speaker 2 (11:00):
What were the other thing? Is it mentioned the others?
Because I know I knew about the Chames Bond.
Speaker 1 (11:04):
Already Spider Man pop up, So I'm guessing Spider Man.
Speaker 2 (11:10):
Well, i've seen Back to the future as well.
Speaker 4 (11:14):
Well, we really know because they got rid of that
Ride of the US one.
Speaker 3 (11:17):
Right, actually a long time no, because it's it's not
that it's not gonna be at right to be a
new one. And I think it was supposed to be
what's the what's a bloody place called that it's set
in the fifties.
Speaker 4 (11:33):
The town called no, yeah, I don't remember. It's Hill Valley, right,
Valley town though, just.
Speaker 2 (11:50):
I think that's the town, isn't.
Speaker 4 (11:51):
It certaill value? And again actual hill Vale, Hill Valley
back to the yeah, okay, fictional town and yeah, Hill Valley.
Speaker 2 (11:57):
I found it.
Speaker 3 (11:58):
So if that's the case, if they've got like a
repica of that, that would be awesome. I'd look amazing,
like fifties esque, you know, that'd be cool. But I
don't know if that's a natural like rumor that's almost
been confirmed or whatever.
Speaker 2 (12:12):
I think it's just a lot of speculation.
Speaker 1 (12:15):
But that's going to be very good for opportunities for
cosplayers then who lived live around the UK. Just all
the backdrops they can picture it now, me with my
Martin McFly puffer jacket thing, with my iron Man and
my hoverboard? Yeah, good photos. Are you referencing my bad
(12:37):
iron Man cosplayer? Did my? No, it's all my first
or second comic con.
Speaker 4 (12:43):
I think it was that was that was your first?
Speaker 1 (12:45):
Yeah, I think it was my first. It was the
point where I was totally stark from the animated series
Iron Man Armored Adventures where he was a team and
he you know, yeah, he was still iron Man. It
was like Spider Man.
Speaker 3 (13:03):
Did he do? I don't know.
Speaker 1 (13:06):
So for the cosplay, it was literally a red T shirt,
the geans he wore, and the red and white Basebally
kind of shoes, and then I built myself an art reactor.
But obviously because the back of it was a sink plug,
it made it stick out more when it was in
my chest. So yeah, they called me the one tit wander.
(13:30):
I never thought I would say that by myself.
Speaker 4 (13:33):
I was gonna say, I never thought i'd hear that
come up.
Speaker 1 (13:39):
I did talk about the time I kissed an eye
and on wazz streams, and that's.
Speaker 4 (13:48):
If you're watching this on YouTube, that's on this channel.
That is four solid four years ago. In fact, you
know what, we're about a month away from our our
four year anniversary.
Speaker 1 (14:03):
We should probably we should probably plan something I should
probably think about. But yeah, the story didn't happen four
years ago. The stream where I talked about it happened
four years ago.
Speaker 4 (14:14):
Yes, yes, that's correct, because.
Speaker 1 (14:16):
I was I was a dumb kid thinking I could
kiss an iron be for some reason changed. Let me
just stick my tongue in this. Don't do that, I
think cold.
Speaker 2 (14:29):
You didn't know.
Speaker 1 (14:31):
I want my to. But yeah, going back to the
Universital studios, I think they said it was going to
take about six years to build, give or take. Uh,
it's going to be a long time because it was
a lot I saw.
Speaker 4 (14:47):
It was.
Speaker 1 (14:50):
Mm hmm.
Speaker 4 (14:50):
The guy mister Spiegel, and think of Spikes Spiegel from
how be pop? I can't. I mean, yeah, scared ages.
We're going to be quite old by then.
Speaker 1 (15:08):
It will be probably too old to do it. But
then to be fair, well, you never you're never too
old too fair. The guy that, the guy the streamer
I watch, he's in his forties and he does all
this stuff. So hey, how we'll be still streaming in
our forties maybe yeh uh, yeah, I'm on their website.
(15:31):
I don't I was on the news I heard six
years Yeah, I think it was.
Speaker 4 (15:36):
It sounds it sounds reasonable.
Speaker 2 (15:38):
Yeah, for a whole thing to make an entire theme park.
Speaker 1 (15:42):
I want a contract because you know how the British
Building Society is very famous for cutting corners and making
houses that fall to pieces.
Speaker 4 (15:55):
I mean, I certainly hope it's well. I mean, you know,
we this is a country with world class theme parks.
Maybe not all built like entirely you know from UK companies,
certainly not the roller coaster, but still, you know, we
probably have one of the most dense like most densely
(16:19):
packed area of quality theme parks. And I think the
only place that probably rivals that is literally the Disney
World complex in Florida, because obviously that's a bit ridiculous
in what it is. But you know, stuff at Olden
Towers obviously got leave Land UK as well. Chessington Thort
(16:41):
Park at least in terms of its thrill rides. If
you add universal to that, all of these are within
a few hours driving distance from each other. You could
drive from what's the furthest south of those. It's probably
it's probably park, right, I think is Shessington Further, I
get where that is yeah, is that not I'm checking.
(17:05):
We are jagging. Well, here's here's you know that is
further that's actually within the twenty five and you know
what we do.
Speaker 1 (17:13):
Then once it's finished, well before it's built, finished, built,
we could do a theme park crawl stream where we
just do one day, not one day, but like different days,
going to different day after another. Yeah, to celebrate the
university studios being built. And then we'll go to Universal
(17:34):
Studios and stream it. If we're still doing this in
our forty hear me.
Speaker 4 (17:39):
Out, what if we actually at least went on one
ride each in one day like the resulting YouTube is say.
Speaker 1 (17:49):
That would be expensive?
Speaker 2 (17:52):
Really far it?
Speaker 4 (17:54):
Well, okay, let's go chess the drive Chessing. I'm gonna
I'm on Google Maps right now.
Speaker 1 (17:58):
Right driver, so he's going to find a way.
Speaker 4 (18:04):
Alten Towers right, Okay, Driving from Chessington to Alden Towers
is three hours. That's not too bad. Really, Let's literally
add what next me Thorpe Park and then we want
Legoland windsor relatively they Yeah, I'm going to put in
(18:29):
bed Ford Steel. This must this is probably it. That's
gonna be where the new thing is. That's further plain, No,
that's okay, that's the wrong place I need to find.
Is there some sort of address for this where it's
going to be. So I'm just gonna put in Bedford
(18:54):
because I can't find anything more specific brick place, and
I put steel. I meant bricks, didn't I yeah, yeah,
that doesn't help.
Speaker 2 (19:04):
No, But.
Speaker 4 (19:07):
Now it's close enough.
Speaker 2 (19:09):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (19:09):
The total drive now is six hours. This is an
odd way. Is this the best way of doing this?
Speaker 2 (19:19):
I guess so, well, surely you go.
Speaker 3 (19:23):
You'd go down tars last or first with you, because
I currently have.
Speaker 4 (19:28):
It last, doing a lot of loops on yourself around,
he throws, adding like three hours plus the trip out
to Bedford back to the m one town of Kempton. Yeah,
that's where the little park.
Speaker 2 (19:44):
Well.
Speaker 1 (19:44):
I meant to do the stream with all the other
theme parks to celebrate the new one being built, and
then once it's being built, then do solo stream for
that one.
Speaker 3 (19:55):
But that would still I mean, you're not really to
save much time, because of course that's it. May you
save a few minutes, but you've still got to get
to old towers, which is the main issue.
Speaker 1 (20:07):
All in a day, like different days, different oh yeah,
I mean one day after another would actually be quite
fun as well, I think, But I'm just thinking all
in one day. I think it pick the best rights
and then make it into the video. Whether it's just
one video with all the days that we go into, well.
Speaker 4 (20:27):
Yeah, I'm just thinking of the challenge of getting to
all of them in that you don't understand, like it
would be.
Speaker 1 (20:35):
What about making it a charity thing so you've got
more of an oof to do it within the wind
in the day.
Speaker 4 (20:41):
I mean maybe, but yeah, it would have to be.
I think it'd have to be like because you know
on Halloween they are open late. Yeah, if like Old Towers,
then entering at six pm.
Speaker 3 (20:52):
Mostly when it opens basically.
Speaker 4 (20:55):
One second I have to go grab the door, no worries.
So yeah, I'm surprised how long it's actually taking three
hours from Chessington from all Towers and I'm doing I
am doing in reverse here on Towers to Chessington. Wait
if I got this, yeah, hang on, I could make
(21:17):
this better. Then I got the I sucked it up.
Speaker 2 (21:20):
I fucked you put you made it so you go
back on yourself something.
Speaker 4 (21:24):
Yeah, I thought, Okay, now four hours twenty seven is
the actual number here. Okay, that's not as now it
makes a lot more sense the route it's taking. Okay,
this makes a lot more.
Speaker 2 (21:37):
Not going back to London or whatever.
Speaker 4 (21:40):
But that is obviously still quite chunk, like considering the
length of a day awaking day, four and a half
hours just driving and not even getting in and out
of the parts, and then you've got to get on
a riode too. Obviously, what we're gonna buy fast passes
like a right or right basic thing again, like.
Speaker 2 (22:02):
The tea cup or something. I don't know, it would yeah,
that would be quite a colt.
Speaker 3 (22:07):
I mean, I guess if you you would probably have
to do it like oh you're going to ride the
best ride there or like the most popular ride. Is
that it makes a bit more interesting than and I
guess you could see how long it takes it.
Speaker 2 (22:20):
I mean if you go to some of the parks.
Of course, it depends when you do it.
Speaker 3 (22:24):
Well, if you're doing like a week day that isn't
a half term working, then may be all right.
Speaker 1 (22:30):
All right, I'm back.
Speaker 4 (22:33):
It's probably slightly less than this because looking at thort
Park on this map, like, is it actually driving me
past the car park? Round into the service roads as
Thought Park and into the park itself.
Speaker 2 (22:49):
You need to do that.
Speaker 4 (22:53):
I've lowered it to four hours nineteen by taking.
Speaker 1 (22:56):
That before you. Before I left, you talked about the
Halloween thing. It was open till like, I agree.
Speaker 4 (23:04):
Me too.
Speaker 1 (23:05):
Did you When which day.
Speaker 3 (23:06):
Did you go? Yeah?
Speaker 4 (23:07):
Well, not the same day as you. I think we
were like a week out from each other or something,
because you were saying you're going there, and I was like, oh,
I was there last week with my sister.
Speaker 1 (23:16):
Oh yeah, because my sister just says, oh, let's go
and booked us all tickets. And then I went to
the Dead Beats one, and then I made a joke
because I was going to cover a Kaipimori concert because
our fan base is called dead Beats. I'm a prince,
(23:37):
I'm no dead beat. Yeah. And then it was kind
of strange though, because like when we did the maze afterwards,
like the Scarecrow amazing, they looked like the scarecrows from
Doc two, that Doc two episode where like the people
were turning to scarecrows. The my sister, my brother, and
(23:58):
my brother's partner was behind. Oh and my sister's partner
were all behind me and as we were walking, so
you know, some of them will just stand up and
like run after you and point at you and all that.
They would deliberately go past me and go behind me,
where all the people were actually being scared about it,
and I was just walking straight through like nothing was
going on because they weren't bothering with me. They're bothered
(24:21):
with more of the people that were screaming behind me.
I was like, but they're not scared too fair. I
did think one of them was a statue and I
went really close and it just started. It just stood up,
but instead of coming for me, it just went behind me,
and I was like okay by then, and I carried
on walking through. It was ridiculous. It was just like
they weren't bothered with me, and they obviously they do
(24:42):
stay before you go and you can't touch them. They
won't touch you necessarily, blah blah blah. But the American
ones are full on where they actually will grab you
and throw you around, which I think are probably more
scared of those ones than obviously our little team ones.
But I do fe.
Speaker 4 (25:01):
We only did the free one and uh it was fine,
and like, yeah, it was a bit weird when they
would like come at you or sort of stand in
your way, but like obviously they don't.
Speaker 2 (25:12):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (25:12):
Yeah, the one about bail ones with the Scarecrows, the
Deadbeat one was really dark but the only thing that
was the only thing that they would happen they were
you would go in and it was just like a
pole dancer just like lunging at you and like kicking
out his leg which was close to our faces at
one point, but obviously obviously they're trained enough to not
(25:34):
like hit you. And then they're just othersombie type people
with headphones on. And then it just got dark and
then you would trip over barrels more than being scared technically,
but like everything was being As I was walking, everyone
behind me was being scared than what I was facing,
which was just like what's the point, But yeah, it was,
(25:55):
it was.
Speaker 2 (25:56):
It was.
Speaker 1 (25:56):
It was an experience because I got to write some
of the rioters, which was the really fast one, the
race car one that goes super Rita is it called
is it called Rita.
Speaker 4 (26:10):
Talents? Yeah, the one that launches you, Yeah.
Speaker 1 (26:12):
Launches you up right really fast. It was like it's
the fastest launch not to sixty in yeah, in sixty seconds.
Speaker 4 (26:22):
That doesn't go that doesn't go up though, like Stealth
a Thought part that just shoots you forward and then
you go round and.
Speaker 1 (26:28):
No shoots you up. The one I'm talking about race car.
Speaker 4 (26:33):
If I it's all on Towers, it's definitely Rita and
it doesn't when it goes somewhere up. Well, yeah, I
thought you went. Yeah, I went to Towers. Oh you
went to went on I thought you went.
Speaker 1 (26:45):
I went to the Thought Park Halloween.
Speaker 4 (26:47):
Okay, okay, we're talking about everything.
Speaker 1 (26:52):
I'm trying to find it is.
Speaker 4 (26:54):
Yeah, yeah, no, that definitely goes up. That's not eighty
oh okay, but it was like because Reacher is actually sixty.
Speaker 1 (27:02):
Yeah, this one was like six, like really fast. But yeah,
Thought Park, I went to not the one year wrong about.
Speaker 4 (27:13):
An eighty stream streak rightly, Damn.
Speaker 1 (27:18):
That's a lot it is.
Speaker 2 (27:22):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (27:23):
I went to Thought Park on Halloween, not Friday. Want
to to be honest, not really been fan of the
Halloween staff at theme parks, other other than just being
able to stay there later in the UK because normally
they don't.
Speaker 1 (27:35):
The only the only thing that happened there as well,
that's worth mentioning. I think her name was that I
literally nearly bumped shoulders shoulder with. I think her name's
Katy Perry, Katie Price, Katie Price. Sorry, that's it Katie Price.
Speaker 4 (27:54):
Hey what what a down grade?
Speaker 1 (27:57):
Sorry? I got I got it, I got it, I
got them.
Speaker 2 (28:00):
Yeah, brilliant story.
Speaker 4 (28:03):
Right, well, no, it's only Katie Price.
Speaker 2 (28:06):
You've got more money then.
Speaker 1 (28:10):
Yeah. Literally we walked literally shoulder to shoulder past Katie
Price and it was like the it was the American
town bit in Fort Park, which is also funny as well,
but yeah, that was that was the first celebrity nearly
bumping kind of thing.
Speaker 4 (28:30):
Well kind of a celebrity, but you know, I mean
she is a celebrity, but I mean, yeah, it's it's
only Katie Price.
Speaker 1 (28:41):
You've got like the A list and all that. I
think she's what, You're an A list celebrity.
Speaker 4 (28:47):
Yeah, if Katie Price list what we.
Speaker 2 (28:53):
Like, we're like, we're the X factor. We're terrible, We're
better than.
Speaker 3 (29:01):
I re been to Fort Parks since went on the
school trip, right, and that was a long time ago.
I've literally name of been once. I've been.
Speaker 4 (29:13):
A couple of years.
Speaker 1 (29:14):
I think I've only been three times in my life
because when I lived in Belgium, we did all the
theme parks there, so most of my childhood was all
the other theme parks there and the zoos. But the
famous zoo that I went to was Park Paralicio. It
was called that was all We always went there, so
that was that was a place to go to. But yeah,
(29:35):
it's just theme parks here. I've been to Legoland Windsor
only once when I was younger.
Speaker 4 (29:45):
There it would be a long time.
Speaker 1 (29:46):
Autumn Towers have been way most Sea Life Center I've
been longly. I've been a couple of times. No, but
like you know, places like that, just like places like
that in general, like amusement or places to go family attraction.
Speaker 4 (30:08):
That's it.
Speaker 3 (30:09):
I think it's like here in England, like obviously where
we're based is there's not too many and I don't know.
Speaker 2 (30:17):
I just they're never really my thing.
Speaker 3 (30:19):
Like this is why I like Universal because when I
went to Universal in Florida, I haven't really gone Rader
coasters anyway.
Speaker 2 (30:26):
I'm not massive huge fan of Reller coasters because it
just makes me feel ill.
Speaker 3 (30:31):
But like they've got so many simulations there, like the simulation, right,
I love them like I can't get enough of those.
Speaker 2 (30:37):
They're amazing. So when I went there, I was thinking,
oh crap, I'm not going to go on anything.
Speaker 3 (30:41):
But of course, like Universal has tons and tons of
like simulators and rides that you know are clearly not
like huge Rader coasters, so it's brilliant. But it sort
of made me like a few park snob really because
I'm just like, I go to Universal and I'm thinking, well,
nothing else is going to be as good as in
a person studios, and I'm right because.
Speaker 2 (31:06):
Hopefully it will be just as good if not there.
Speaker 1 (31:10):
The good one we went to as well, because we
all went to it as well was Disneyland Tokyo. We
went to that was a fun experience at night with
all the lights and stuff. Never experienced that before, and
as you said, like virtual stuff, wasn't there. A riby
went on there that we had to put like a
virtual reality headset on, and being a roller coaster where
(31:32):
it's like bent down slightly and it's like a space ship,
because I know.
Speaker 2 (31:39):
It was.
Speaker 1 (31:39):
It was like a gray because obviously we because we
queued for the spaceship one and it was like you're
in a winged grade space and no, it was a
different one. It was a wing winged gray thing spacecraft
and like you let your length forward, but you've got
a headset on, so what you see the floor, it's
(32:00):
what's on the headset. So yeah, that's why. The other
thing I remember that that was one where I went
to because obviously we got the fast track tickets for
most of it, but then obviously it was that night
and some of the fast track things didn't work because obviously,
like it's that night, so like not a lot of
people there. The other one we did was you went
(32:22):
on the log flume, and I would I didn't want
to get wet and cold, so I sat there with
I sat there with the bags watching a Jack SEPTICAI
video with our portable Wi Fi. And then you guys
came back going back, Oh we didn't get wet, it's fine.
So then we all so I went with you this
time back to it and then what happens, I get
(32:45):
wet and random randomly that time we got wet.
Speaker 4 (32:52):
Yeah, and we all got I think genuinely, like you
sort of come off the first time. Yeah, we couldn't
affect that.
Speaker 1 (33:05):
You could expect lots of money on the the stand
standing dry as that don't work. Yeah, yeah, that's going
to be a fun experience whenever we do theme parks,
and if we do, we'll probably live stream or make
a video, depending what our production value is going to be.
Speaker 4 (33:29):
Remember when we played disney World in Minecraft on stream?
Speaker 1 (33:34):
Oh yeah, it wasn't very good.
Speaker 4 (33:39):
No, I thought it was really good.
Speaker 1 (33:40):
I remember, just kept breaking. Yeah, like.
Speaker 3 (33:48):
I think.
Speaker 1 (33:50):
I think towards the end we got a little bit bored,
so one of us was kept breaking the blocks to
get behind them.
Speaker 4 (33:59):
You know, you couldn't rake it though, because it was
all set up in a way that you couldn't. I
think you're thinking of you might be thinking of that,
like because we played like after Minecraft mission map Mission Maps. Sorry, yeah, yeah,
I remember, and that was a bit less lockdown the
(34:21):
the it was a third party thing, but it was
like off the Microsoft store that disney World was actually
pretty pretty like seriously done. I mean we bought a
load of pickles in we were chucking the pickles in
the fountain.
Speaker 1 (34:34):
In the pickles and pickle.
Speaker 4 (34:42):
I don't know, only pickles are like are do Drew
Tommy dyl not the food kind, only type pickles, And.
Speaker 1 (34:58):
He to this day, he's still wat is that program?
Speaker 4 (35:04):
If I didn't they remake Rugrats recently?
Speaker 1 (35:07):
I don't.
Speaker 4 (35:11):
Sing even though.
Speaker 1 (35:13):
About the new games that you kept playing and showing us,
and then.
Speaker 2 (35:19):
That's hates it.
Speaker 4 (35:22):
By way. I was looking at any game of interesting
for then was it?
Speaker 1 (35:26):
We went around your house and then you and guy
played rug Rats whatever ps And I was just want
to sleep on the couch, never getting a drink, drinking drinking, see,
because that's all you have in your fridge is five
bag curtaons of oat milk even.
Speaker 4 (35:49):
And I'm pretty sure, but didn't you purchase milk that day?
Speaker 1 (35:54):
I think it was the day No, it was the
day after. I think one of the days, I think,
because you went for a and you brought some back.
Speaker 4 (36:03):
Not to go for a run with you guys there
that morning.
Speaker 1 (36:06):
I swear we stayed around the house. Even when we
went to like Scotland and stuff, you would go for
a run.
Speaker 2 (36:14):
Well, it was definitely not that time we were there.
There's no chance.
Speaker 1 (36:17):
Well, all I remember is rescue for a run. And
there's other story you're mixing up, and the other story
stuck in my head as well. When we were in Scotland,
and I bought sugar to have with my tea, and
I brought I was trying to bring it.
Speaker 4 (36:34):
Yeah, I know, it's Scotland where I went for a
run and come back with milk. That was the first SLA.
The first Scotland was anime festival.
Speaker 1 (36:42):
And I don't think we were first.
Speaker 4 (36:44):
I think because that's the only one was oh sorry, well.
Speaker 1 (36:47):
The apartment where where the no, it was the apartment
where the draw the doors kept falling off and we
didn't have wi fis. I know.
Speaker 4 (36:55):
I think I brought back milk on the on the
the one that had all four of us, because I
remember hot shots specifically being like waking up and seeing
that I had got milk and being very early.
Speaker 1 (37:10):
Yeah well okay, and then the other story. And I
think a couple after I was trying to bring back
sugar because didn't want to leave a half bag of
sugar in the place, so I try to bring it
back on the air in the airplane and why and
it came up on the system. So I got searched
(37:32):
and they swore.
Speaker 4 (37:35):
The power.
Speaker 1 (37:38):
They looked to be funny and it's like sugar, so
was like it's fun but like it was very embarrassing
because I still take a bear with me to places
because obviously, like he's my go to bear. It was
it was just embarrassing them pulling him out and serving
him for drugs. I was like, oh my god, like.
Speaker 2 (37:58):
Why did you want to take sugar?
Speaker 3 (38:01):
I didn't want to.
Speaker 1 (38:06):
It was a way, I know what you mean, because
because it wasn't an international flight, you would be fine
international because the same you have in the UK of
the in England.
Speaker 2 (38:19):
Sorry, the white powder. It's probably very very easily.
Speaker 1 (38:29):
Yes, I'll be stupid enough as a prince to take
back the white stuff in my suitcase.
Speaker 2 (38:35):
He did.
Speaker 4 (38:37):
Surprisingly, this story is after that time you tried to
take a katana style umbrella on an international flight.
Speaker 1 (38:46):
And it was it was a slightly expensive one. I
wasn't going to leave it in Japan, was I? And
I stupidly should have bought the one that collapses in
itself and not the big one because I was huge.
(39:07):
But when I packed it and obviously with a bag
and stuff like it says the lady. The Japanese lady
desk person did check what it was and like felt
the bag and went, oh, this type of umbrella, like
they know they knew what it was idiots, and then yes,
(39:32):
And then got back to the UK and we all
went at the baggage claim and.
Speaker 4 (39:41):
Nothing.
Speaker 1 (39:42):
All of the suitcases came, but this sword didn't. We
didn't realize we had to go all the way at
the back of the airport where special bags would be released.
As soon as I turned up, there was a loud
like beeping noise and then out popped out my bag
Katana umbrella, which I still have in my room to
(40:04):
this day and I've used.
Speaker 4 (40:06):
What's funny as well, is that, of course we both
got by the way. This has changed since we Japan,
but we both we all of us got two bits
of checked baggage, right, And I have a flight book
to Canada and it doesn't include any checked baggage, let
alone two bits. It's like one hundred quid extra if
(40:27):
you want check baggage. Is insane. I don't know how
that's changed in the last it's been a while, it's
like eight years now, but like still I can't believe it.
But anyway, I don't know. You already like bought another suitcase, right.
Speaker 1 (40:44):
Oh yeah, yeah, because I bought I bought a big
suitcase to take on me Japan, and my parents go, oh,
use these bags inside the thing to like fleatly fold
close up, but then it made it full anyway. So
I was like, if I was going to bring back anything,
(41:05):
it wasn't going to work out. So when we were
in Japan, I then listen to you guys when you said, oh,
if you just roll your clothes up, they will just
fit half of the suitcase. But at the time, because
I had stuff to bring back with me, we suggested
going to it would began with a D. It was
(41:28):
what shop like, not like not like a Japanese pound
line or something, but it was like like a store
that had everything. Yeah, don quixote, which I always hear
in Connors and Chris's streams. Donkey for sure, yes, donkey, hope, donkey,
let's call it a donkey. And I when I purchased
(41:51):
a very nice black and turquoise small suitcase where actually
all my clothes that fit in the big suitcase and
made it full actually fit nicely in this tiny one,
and then I could bring all my other stuff back.
But it didn't stop it from being really heavy and
awkward trying to go through Japan with a suitcase that
(42:15):
was slightly broken and the little suitcase, but I did
have the sort of sticking out of it because yeah,
I couldn't just carry that around like an idiot. And
you guys remind me, remember on I was gonna say,
you reminded me how awkward my suitcases were, because you
guys left me with the train elevator lift by myself.
Speaker 4 (42:43):
That was the last air and B apartment.
Speaker 1 (42:47):
I saw it was the train one because it's like
it's the train one because I remember people coming out
of it and there's a little screen at the bottom
to show if someone was in there or not, because
obviously they're only like one to two people per person
inside this lift. So so you guys went down and
then you took a picture of me struggling getting into
(43:07):
this lift with my two bags, he said, helping me,
And then yeah, it was just like that picture, Hank.
But actually seeing what Riley wrote Aero after shape, I've
thought they were making a pun on my name because
it's got arrow and.
Speaker 3 (43:24):
It's the most wanted line. I've actually got a bottle.
Speaker 1 (43:27):
Of change my name too, because that's cool, very good.
Speaker 4 (43:34):
There a review coming out on your YouTube channel.
Speaker 3 (43:37):
I need to make I would have to review like
thirty bottles.
Speaker 1 (43:41):
When you're going to review the.
Speaker 3 (43:45):
I can't because it's incredibly expensive.
Speaker 1 (43:49):
Trying to get guided by Donald Trump's after shape he.
Speaker 4 (43:53):
Brought out or go on after shame.
Speaker 1 (43:56):
Yeah, because we made a joke about because obviously guy
was getting you to buy all this stuff, and I go, oh,
why didn't you get rescued buy this? And I linked
you to the page.
Speaker 4 (44:05):
I probably didn't know that's what it was, or I've
just forgotten completely.
Speaker 1 (44:08):
Yeah, Zone before he became president, he brought his own
perfume brand.
Speaker 3 (44:15):
Yeah, that's mandatory for every American to wear it apparently.
Speaker 4 (44:18):
So weird.
Speaker 1 (44:20):
Japan was fun and hopefully we can do it again
at some.
Speaker 4 (44:24):
Point because we should do a cyclothon. Yeah Japan, no one,
No one's done that before.
Speaker 1 (44:32):
Well, talking about cyclophon, c dog Via, who is also
called Connor, is doing a cyclophone for every day now
from the thirteenth, for fourteen days from Kaido to Tokyo
this time around, I feel like, so he's free. He
(44:52):
was the fourth one, so he does it. He's done
it every year in April.
Speaker 4 (44:57):
I just it feels like it comes around really good.
Speaker 1 (45:00):
Yeah, I know. A couple of weeks ago. I was
watching the third one. But I was watching the third
I remember the.
Speaker 4 (45:06):
Yeah, I remember seeing like this footage of like didn't
they end at the Tokyo Tower or something, and like
there's loads of people there, yes, and everything, And I
swear that was like three weeks ago.
Speaker 1 (45:17):
Yeah. Well, now he's on the fourth one and I've
just finished it. Well, I'm a day behind because I'm
watching them vodds because it's nine am Japan time, which
is midnight our time. So I watched them a day
later on YouTube. And I also watch Iron Mouse's version
because she's bringing out videos to do with each day
that she appears on them or if she's watching them.
(45:40):
So it's a quite interesting thing seeing the different perspectives.
But yes, it's at this time it's obviously Connor and
Chris Broaden Japan who were doing it mainly, and then
joining them for yesterday's one and today's one is Peute Pie.
Speaker 4 (45:59):
So I was gonna says, yeah, and that's actually who
you were going to say. That's clearly he's the guest.
Speaker 1 (46:07):
The next guess is someone that who does by a
cycling in Japan themselves. I can't remember the name. All
look up a minute. Yeah, I've been watching that. It's
been quite interesting having that in the background. Is eight
Hour of Odds.
Speaker 4 (46:20):
I thought you were watching it live this morning when
he posted about it.
Speaker 1 (46:23):
Because I was watching the vod because he's trying to
bring them out quicker, but obviously because obviously someone else
that has that, who controls that channel.
Speaker 4 (46:33):
But see, this is why they should multi stream on YouTube.
That's already they're easy, so they should get me on
the team.
Speaker 1 (46:41):
Yeah, and it was quite interesting learning because obviously they've
got like pull the cameraman with them, so you get
to learn about him more when he's doing these live
streams and behind the scenes kind of thing. And obviously
like they're like Ian and stuff, the people in the van,
but it's just learning about all the all the new
tech that they are using. So obviously the I was
(47:04):
texting you about the new tech cameras they were using
and all this like livestream stuff. So it's quite interesting
to watch whilst the charity thing's going on. But also
you get to because he's doing these things in between
while cycling and going to the van and checkpoints and stuff,
you actually get to see all the different stuff he's
(47:24):
using and what he's using and all that, and also
you know a bit of a tangent.
Speaker 2 (47:31):
I know.
Speaker 1 (47:33):
He you know the backpack he uses where it has
all the SIM cards in it for him to use
internet to live stream. The SIM cards this time are
Journey what's it called Journey, No Journey, Journey Japan Journey
JAPANESIM because Chris Broad, a Broad Japan person, has brought
(47:57):
out his own SIM company.
Speaker 4 (47:59):
I as you say that, I've already goog with it,
right I click on it. I'm wound out because as
you say that, I see his face pop, like what
the fuck?
Speaker 1 (48:09):
And if you buy it now you get five hundred
yen off his cocktail mocktail at his bar. He also
owns called Lost where it's actually behind a gatching machine.
So you walk down this like wait, so in the
building there's like a cafe over there, and then like
there's just a random gatching machine on the wall and
you've actually got to which actually is working gatcher in it,
(48:31):
but you actually have to pull that aside, which is
quite heavy, and behind it is the Lost bar and
it's pretty neat.
Speaker 4 (48:38):
I talk about can I talk about the genius business
of this man, right, Like, think about it. You make
a YouTube channel that gets popular about life in Japan,
stuff you do in Japan, and then that obviously is
people who use that when they go to Japan. And
then what do they do when they go to Japan?
They go drink at your bar and use your ease
(49:00):
him for internet giving you more money? Like smart, right,
I really think this is so interesting.
Speaker 1 (49:09):
Famous book writer as well.
Speaker 4 (49:12):
Well, yeah, the book is just good in general, but
I love the idea that, oh where should I go
in Japan? Oh, I'll use the guy's products and services
that I have learned from his YouTube.
Speaker 1 (49:21):
Like to be fair, he he has because he talks
about these things on stream. Well he doesn't stream per se,
but he's always on Corners or Premier two years. But
he does talk about in depth, like his opinion and stuff.
He's quite like I kind of like how he thinks
and all that kind of stuff. But he has mentioned
(49:42):
with his eSIM. I know, like people say these things
to like try and sell it and stuff, but like
he is general with this stuff. So he says, mostms
in Japan will bounce their stuff outside of Japan and
bounce it back in again. So you won't get a
good coverage as they claim you're getting, but his services
are actually they ping inside Japan and not outside and
(50:03):
then in again. So interesting, that's it will be a
go to thing to try and obviously review the.
Speaker 2 (50:13):
Spokesperson.
Speaker 1 (50:16):
I well, to be fair, he does it on that. Yeah,
I sponsored by it. Now. I do have vast respect
for Seed Dog and Chris and Premiere two and all
the people involved around Seed Dog, like and Iron Mouse.
I have so much respect because they're quite down to
(50:39):
earth and not like people who get lost in money
and sponsorships and all that. These guys are quite still there.
They're themselves, they're genuine and stuff. They give that actual
opinion kind of thing, even though they do have sponsors
here and there, but like, they're quite they they have
(51:00):
sponsors that are like not shoving down your face, but
they're good sponsors if that makes sense.
Speaker 4 (51:07):
Yeah, I mean, you know this is so logical, right,
making a convenient sim card for I mean, we've we
had solutions for this when we were there, but like, well,
if I go to Japan again, kind of this is
the first thing I'll think of now.
Speaker 1 (51:23):
Yeah, because I would actually probably do that now with
these because the last time we went, I just focused
on just using our pocket Wi Fi.
Speaker 4 (51:32):
Yeah, I mean I was one of my own thing anyway,
just for from when I went to Okayama, because I
would be alone anyway.
Speaker 1 (51:38):
You had you had the special card that you could
take money out in a foreign country. You had to
you had your own SIM card and as me with
all my cash and uh a pocket Wi Fi device
that shared between all of us because I was in
the backpack. So yeah, who who was the smart one there?
(52:00):
I think especially I did.
Speaker 4 (52:04):
I did convert some cash obviously. You know we've got
a funny story around that as well, haven't we. Yeah,
but that's the last time I converted cash for anywhere,
because I just withdraw it when I need to know.
In most most countries have to take card now, and
even Japan probably more than when we went, because COVID
happened there too, obviously, so I imagine think that more.
I mean COVID was the typing point in the UK
(52:26):
of cash to card becoming more popular. Right, It's crazy
how I just flipped the switch that one year.
Speaker 2 (52:34):
Basically, Yeah, it was crazy times, crazy times.
Speaker 1 (52:41):
But it does make me want to get my own
bike and do a cyclophone around. What was the place
we were going to look at the Isle of Wight.
Speaker 4 (52:54):
You said, out the way. Yeah, yeah, come to my
mind as well and talking about it that idea.
Speaker 1 (53:00):
Yeah, but hopefully we could probably work something out for that.
But yeah, that that would be like a fun experience.
Speaker 4 (53:07):
The biggest thing would be you getting a bike and
started the cycle. There are two things that things that
don't have right now either. But at least I do
a little bit of runnings and obviously.
Speaker 1 (53:18):
Guy is like, yeah, yeah, he's he's exactly his YouTuber model.
Speaker 4 (53:26):
Exactly the wrestling belt and goggles he's always wearing.
Speaker 2 (53:32):
I do always have.
Speaker 1 (53:33):
Well, Guy is famous in real life to us for
wearing sunglasses and a leather jacket. Even if it's pitch
black outside, he will still wear his sunglasses. Which but
this is going way back, I know, but like this
that all that sticks in my mind is your leather
(53:53):
jacket and your.
Speaker 2 (53:55):
Went out.
Speaker 4 (53:57):
I know.
Speaker 1 (53:59):
Well, actually, when I get my chance with the because
I've got the dogs and the puppy and I've got
I do sit in the back guard and when the
sun's out because obviously when it's warmer and stuff, I
can do that because all freeze more than a normal person.
But yes, once, once everything and all that. Then I'll
(54:22):
hopefully start doing the exercise stuff bit by bit and
then hopefully, yes, I'll be cycling around the Isle of
Wight for charity if that ever happens. But yeah, that's
a go to goal for me to see if I
can get.
Speaker 4 (54:39):
Somewhere and then happen, I will get on dream.
Speaker 1 (54:45):
Well, I've got to drag you guys with me, because
there's no chance a fairy by myself. I need ant
fall off the ferry.
Speaker 2 (54:59):
There.
Speaker 4 (55:00):
I'll do the I'll do the I R L setup
and and guy can be the support car driver. How
about that?
Speaker 3 (55:08):
Yeah, thinking about like behind when when he's slowing down.
Speaker 1 (55:13):
Given nudge, no, no stopping, I don't You've only not
even done a mile yet. You've just got to blow
on me and I'll just fall over.
Speaker 4 (55:26):
You just sweed him up, You blow him and he's
going out.
Speaker 1 (55:33):
If there's an artist listening, please draw that. That would
be hilarious scene.
Speaker 2 (55:38):
There's artists, please draw inter use blowing.
Speaker 1 (55:45):
Not like that. We're not pre because we're on the
tangent of like Japan and all that and streamers. Uh,
Ludwig and people know who that is, Yes, my favorite,
(56:06):
a famous streamer who's also friends with Connor. Before Connor
did a cyclophone, Ludwig and someone I can't remember his name,
Michael or something did their own journey across Japan Tip
to tip it was called and they were using motorcycles
without maps to get from one place to then one
(56:28):
part of the country to the next in Japan. Damn
color was then watching it to then like say, always
done that wrong? Or you know, praising him when he
really good Japanese and kind of stuff. But yeah, is
there another tangent to move this along? Because I don't know.
Speaker 4 (56:48):
Where to start.
Speaker 2 (56:50):
You stop yourself.
Speaker 1 (56:52):
No, once we start with Japan, I will be here
for hours.
Speaker 4 (56:56):
Oh yeah, Does anyone have anything in the theme park
related they want to cycle back to? Or shall we move?
Speaker 2 (57:07):
I mean, I feel like I don't know have you
you both? You been to disney in Florida.
Speaker 4 (57:15):
Long time ago.
Speaker 1 (57:17):
I've only been to Disneyland Parish and Disneyland Tokyo. I
don't know if it's Disneyland or Disney World Tokyo, but
one or the other. I've never been to the American
one isn't.
Speaker 2 (57:33):
Ruskin. Do you go did you when you went, did
you go to all like the actual land or oh.
Speaker 4 (57:38):
Yeah, we we'd spend a lot of time. We didn't
stay in a Disney hotel, but we did all of
it every land. Yeah, we didn't know the water parks,
but we did do Downtown Disney, which was a thing.
I remember being down Disney on like what felt like
the hottest day and there was like no there was
(58:00):
no like cover for a while. So there's just the
sun beating down and I probably had you know, I
was have been like seven or something like, I've probably
never experienced I mean I happened to like like some
of the islands off of Spain, so maybe I had
experienced heat like that. But either way, I was.
Speaker 1 (58:25):
Experienced space travel at a young age.
Speaker 4 (58:36):
Because I have no comeback because you you have, you
have you know, pointed out the floor and everything. I
just said, breaking, I have no comeback.
Speaker 1 (58:49):
Because you're right, you always said when you've always mentioned.
Speaker 4 (58:54):
About Okay, yeah, no, I The truth is I went
to I went to Disney Space World in Space, Florida,
So Downland, Downtown Space Disney, down Space Disney.
Speaker 1 (59:14):
Why so why are plant space? Why is everything called
space if it's a planet because it's in space, but
it's in space. We don't go space on Earth.
Speaker 4 (59:27):
Earth is just Earth. I'm from space Earth. It's like Earth,
but in space. That doesn't make any I think it
makes perfect.
Speaker 1 (59:37):
Space is like a literal theme park in space. They
did in Futurama.
Speaker 4 (59:44):
They had a theme park on the moon.
Speaker 1 (59:45):
Oh yeah, the moon. Yeah, but which is the space moon?
Speaker 3 (59:51):
And then my.
Speaker 4 (59:53):
Space Earth has the space moon. You've got to moons,
and I know, I know one of them is called
lavender space space Moon two.
Speaker 1 (01:00:06):
There's one slightly one slightly red.
Speaker 4 (01:00:10):
That's the red one.
Speaker 1 (01:00:11):
Cool. Yes, space and you're space for the moon, to
be honest, I really like that. And your and your
planet is orbiting a younger son, so it's a blue
sun because it's a younger and hotter sun. Space Sun.
Speaker 2 (01:00:31):
Saying stuff that's gonna be taken really weird. Hotter sun, younger.
Speaker 1 (01:00:43):
Anyway, sun planet stars, that kind of thing.
Speaker 2 (01:00:48):
Yes, we we get you love rescuss suns anyway.
Speaker 1 (01:00:53):
Carry from Japanese stuff to anime's talk.
Speaker 2 (01:00:57):
Here we go.
Speaker 1 (01:00:57):
I'm going to talk about some of that isn't an
anime because I thought it was an anime, but it's
not is the new Devil May Cry animation that I
finished watching it.
Speaker 4 (01:01:08):
It's good.
Speaker 1 (01:01:09):
It is very good. Lots of swear words because every
every sentence needs to end with the F word, apparently
in their vocabulary. It's really funny. Johnny on Bush is
the main voice actor in it. He's Dante.
Speaker 4 (01:01:24):
The second time he's come out. Yeah, I can't remember why,
but I said his name.
Speaker 2 (01:01:32):
Carry on, carry on.
Speaker 1 (01:01:35):
It's it's really good. The animation is really good. I
like the style of Dante because I've seen what he
looked like in video games, what he was in the
actual in the two thousand and seven anime as well,
but I do like this design of him. I tried
to add it on my mau after first episode that
I watched. It wasn't on mau. I was very confused,
and I thought, well, because it's new, it might be
(01:01:56):
it might take a while to be added. So a
couple of days there after I watched the couple more episodes,
I added, No, it's not there. The only one was
there the two thousands. Someone looked at the credits and
it says us TV, So it's not an anime. But
everyone calls it an anime, which makes sense because anime
in Japanese is animation. But it's kind of weird where
(01:02:19):
people think it's an anime even though it's not because
it looks like one. But yeah, it's really good. The
visuals were great, the sound was great. The quite of
early two thousands music, I think it is how Rolling
Rolling by? Who they buy.
Speaker 2 (01:02:41):
It was Limbuskit, But I mean it's gotta be like
early two thousand nineties.
Speaker 1 (01:02:48):
Yeah, early two thousand stuff, because there was Green Day
in there. There was obviously and all that. It's like
it's quite well. Yeah, I know some of these bad,
but not a lot because some of them.
Speaker 3 (01:03:02):
Like there's actually that is the best part about that show.
Though I haven't even seen it, but I've seen the
set list that show. I'm just looking like, oh my god,
I thinking, what the hell, Like, there's a new Evanescence
song on there?
Speaker 2 (01:03:16):
A song sung for this show? How cool is that?
Speaker 1 (01:03:22):
Even in the story, even though it's to do with
humans and demons, with a lot of the storytelling, it
kind of hits home with what's happening around the world
at the moment, where like, yeah, communication needs to be
key and all that kind of stuff, and like because
someone's slightly different, they're like bad or something. But the
(01:03:44):
story kind of like tells it in that perspective. And
I did like one of the not it's not a
sport of per se, but I like how one of
the episodes they just tell it with two different animation styles.
When I see one person ends up in the Demon
realm and it's just music playing, so you look, you're
(01:04:04):
like watching the story play out between the two worlds
and two animation styles and it's just music playing. That
fits perfectly, and I liked that episode. It was quite
a well, not a unique way, but like it was
a nice way to tell a depressing story, if that
makes sense, because obviously with no lyrics, no vocals or anything,
(01:04:27):
it was kind of like showing what happened between two
different people at two different times, and it was just
the animation style was great and it was just Yeah,
it's only eight episodes long, and it's now been renewed
for season two. So if there's anyone who are interested
in watching it, who's played the games or wants to
get into it, because I actually haven't played any of
(01:04:48):
the games, I've seen someone play the game, but going
into it kind of blind. It was kind of good
to learn about Devil Make Crime. Basically, I don't know.
Speaker 2 (01:05:01):
Yeah, but I'm sorry.
Speaker 3 (01:05:02):
I was going to say, I don't know if the
actual story though, is from the first game. I mean,
as far as you said last time I spoke to
you about it, it doesn't sound like it's.
Speaker 1 (01:05:11):
They do reference. They do reference some of the stuff
he's done in the past, so I don't know where
exactly it's set because they've talked about They talked about
Raccoon City, which I don't know where that happens.
Speaker 2 (01:05:23):
That's evil, That's a complete different game. I had discussion.
Speaker 1 (01:05:29):
They have other references. I thought it was then Make
Our Reverence, but yeah, they have references to other things
in this story. It's where he gets his necklace stolen,
so I don't know when that happens in the game,
but they try to go after it. They go after
his necklace.
Speaker 2 (01:05:51):
I'm not sure. I mean, it's difficult because.
Speaker 1 (01:05:54):
It's like he's established himself as the Demon Hunters, so
he's so I guess it's after the first couple of games,
because I guess where you where you start to be.
Speaker 3 (01:06:06):
One that make cry its weird series because the third
game is technically the first chronologically, so it's like before
he opens the Devil May Cry, which is the like
business that he runs.
Speaker 1 (01:06:20):
Well, there wasn't any mention of what the business was called.
It was just it was just a crappy apartment he
was in that we saw.
Speaker 2 (01:06:28):
Yeah, it's probably it's probably his own thing, because they probably.
Speaker 1 (01:06:32):
Wants to change a bit because he gets hired by
a short, big, most of.
Speaker 4 (01:06:44):
Person.
Speaker 1 (01:06:45):
There's a person who owns a nightclub who gives him
Demon Jobs, well you know, dogs to do.
Speaker 4 (01:06:58):
I thought I thought Demon Jobs was the guy who
founded the evil version of Apple.
Speaker 2 (01:07:03):
Yeah, I was gonna say, but.
Speaker 1 (01:07:07):
Like he's quick to like stab you in the back
and he uh, very New Yorker. But he's like short fat,
got lots of jewelry on the shirt with the two
buttons that are open, and that kind of character. I
don't know if he appears and if he's in the games,
(01:07:27):
he's like the go to person.
Speaker 2 (01:07:30):
I don't think. No, I think it's quite a bit different.
I don't what they've obviously done used some of the.
Speaker 3 (01:07:36):
Main characters and written their own story, or at least
even if it is from when the games all it's not.
Speaker 1 (01:07:44):
It doesn't sound like even if that's the case for
someone who has seen someone play a little bit of
Devil May Cry, it was such a good series. It
was so good in fact, that I literally thought it
was the Japanese animation because obviously, you know how other
kinds that doesn't mean it's good, but like it's pizza
(01:08:05):
to some people. Anime in a sense has been really
good and like American or British maid or other countries
kind of lack in animation kind of things. But they've
kind of brought that back now with Netflix is kind
of brought that back with Arcane and Devil, the Devil
May Caris series and all that like it. They seem
(01:08:26):
like they're Japanese animations, but they're not. With the storytelling
and like the animation quality and all.
Speaker 2 (01:08:32):
What.
Speaker 1 (01:08:33):
It was surprising to find out it wasn't the actual anime.
People said it was an anime kind of thing, Like
even I thought it was anime when I first started
watching it.
Speaker 3 (01:08:44):
Yeah, I mean, I do actually want to watch it,
so what there will be a point where I may
find myself watching it, but I've got so much to
watch the moment that.
Speaker 1 (01:08:53):
I'm not sure, especially watching it with my soundbar and
the and the subf the fight scenes, the music kicking
in it was brilliant. It's like when Rescuers.
Speaker 2 (01:09:08):
I was gonna say, is is Virgil in it?
Speaker 1 (01:09:12):
Ah? Remind me who that is? Some characters I don't want.
Speaker 2 (01:09:16):
To remind you is because if I do, maybe a spoiler.
Speaker 1 (01:09:20):
Wait is Virgil? Yeah? Virgil? Isn't it?
Speaker 2 (01:09:24):
Yeah? Just I mean once again democrats? Wait series.
Speaker 3 (01:09:29):
So I don't want to say too much about her
because in case someone hasn't actually played it well, want
the spoilers.
Speaker 1 (01:09:35):
They cover, No, it's not it's not a spoiler. They
cover Dante's childhood and they call her lady, but she's
got a proper name.
Speaker 4 (01:09:49):
It's Yea.
Speaker 1 (01:09:52):
Or something, but obviously he always calls Yeah. They tell
her backstory, and then they tell the main villain's backstory
as well. People people saying the villain is a new
(01:10:13):
person because he looks different. He's now a rabbit looking thing.
I don't know if there's a rabbit looking thing in
the game, but apparently they changed his design. That's the
one I know. Yeah, Okay, anyone else got any idea
before I ramble on about anime because I'm in the mood.
Speaker 3 (01:10:35):
Let's let's stay clear from anime huge podcast. I mean, well,
I guess the other thing we're going to talk about
was still Bull Run, don't we.
Speaker 4 (01:10:46):
Oh yeah, new Joe Joe's Bizarre Adventure anime confirm the
only anime seven seven Yeah, I'm eight.
Speaker 3 (01:11:00):
Yeah, I'm on six. Still.
Speaker 1 (01:11:03):
I never got around to watch it because I don't
know when. I didn't watch a lot of it. I
just watched it on crunchy or whatever. But now I've
been watching more on Netflix.
Speaker 2 (01:11:13):
One of the best.
Speaker 1 (01:11:16):
The only thing I've seen is he's got a horse,
and that's the anything different.
Speaker 2 (01:11:22):
They are called mounts. Well different.
Speaker 4 (01:11:33):
Well yeah, stands Stands has ended.
Speaker 1 (01:11:37):
Let's stand Yeah, so that's so. Stillbull has been announced
in production that I came across, Yes, a.
Speaker 4 (01:11:48):
Couple of seasons away maybe, I guess.
Speaker 1 (01:11:50):
I don't know, but judging by how what part six happened,
it would probably be picked up by Netflix. Uh, that
will probably be hard to watch it.
Speaker 2 (01:12:03):
Why I watch it? Not going to buy anything?
Speaker 1 (01:12:06):
Yeah, it was just weird that I watched all the
parts up to part five on crunchy roll. It's like
anime is getting strange because it's getting more popular. I'm
finding it different in different places, Like it used to
be just obviously crunchy roll and high Dive and whatever.
(01:12:27):
Now it's crunch y Roll, high Dive Netflix because obviously
Netflix is getting into it now and and now for
some reason in the UK, Channel four has picked up
an anime series which you can only watch it on
Channel fours app and that's the new famous what's it
(01:12:48):
called Lazarus?
Speaker 4 (01:12:50):
Oh, that's the one that Yeah, I should seek it
out on there. I haven't started watching that yet.
Speaker 1 (01:12:54):
Yeah, Lazarus, who is done by the same people who
did Cowboy Bebop and who else?
Speaker 4 (01:13:02):
Same director at least, but yeah, Cowboy Bebop and Can
I Bebop? Sammarai champlus Space Standy Karen Tuesday class in resonance.
Speaker 1 (01:13:11):
So that I think Channel four went, oh, this one
is done by this person, so maybe we'll get more
view were so gapped this one and not letting one
have it.
Speaker 3 (01:13:22):
I think it's a good idea to put on more
things because the fact is nobody is going to use
crunchy roll if you you're not even like remotely interested
anime if the best place for it arguably is Netflix
because that's the many place everyone's going to have. Everyone's
going to have Netflix, so it makes so much more
sense to have it.
Speaker 2 (01:13:41):
It's same with like w E.
Speaker 3 (01:13:42):
It's basically now only on Netflix, which is ideal because
it also means that saves me money everyone.
Speaker 1 (01:13:47):
But I do think that I do think that is
Obviously crunchy roll was designed for a place for anime
and where it was my go to thing to like
just watch what like there's some day airing show but
it's no, it's not gone, but it's just.
Speaker 4 (01:14:03):
Yeah, it's like, this is a bigger issue, right. The
issue I think is that, you know, like we go
back years and years before streaming piracy was the best
way to acquire TV shows, et cetera. Because TV no
longer traditional TV. Yeah, like I have never had a
(01:14:26):
Sky subscription and I never will because that's it's not
worth it. But then streaming came along, It's like, oh,
I could pay a monthly fee to see all my shows.
Nice and crunch row was no different to that when
they came along, because it's really convenient, right, And there
were a few other things I know, but largely it
was all on one platform, and that made it convenient
and more convenient than piracy. Then now we've got a
(01:14:48):
million streaming services. You're thinking of it from an anime perspective,
but you see the same thing just in general. If
you want to if you just watch TV shows, but
you want to watch Sunny on Apple TV, but also
The Boys on Amazon Prime, but also it's breaking back
on HBO. I don't know. The point is if you
(01:15:10):
want to watch everything, you need to buy a million services.
And you know what, actually piracy might be easier now again,
and the companies are going to realize that when their
profits go down and some and then something will change
and it will kind of converge again. I reckon, So
I know I'm not doing anything like that. However, that
(01:15:32):
is the history of it and is just going to
swing the other way again. It's just services.
Speaker 1 (01:15:38):
Yeah, well, it's just because now everything's on other things.
Now it's just my evenings when I watch these shows.
I'll watch all I can on crunchy Roll of that
particular day, and then I'll have to hop onto Netflix
and then watch what they have for that chronological day.
And then now I've got to hop onto Channel four
(01:15:59):
or BBC I Player or because BBCi player has anime
now and they've got the whole of one piece on
there now, So yeah, it's everywhere now. It's just from
from something that was like niche, like we could like
talk like niche enough and like all that. Now it's
(01:16:20):
like mainstream and like there's TV average now that use
anime styles or does something with a Japanese twist or something.
It's now a thing like you know, when we first
got into it, it wasn't it was a niche thing
getting things now and then and like oh this is
cool kind of thing manga as well, and now it's
(01:16:40):
just like it's now a thing to do, like it's everywhere.
It's not like the nerdy thing to do anymore. It's
even it's still even non a people watch like your Name,
a Silent Voice or Attack on Titan and still like.
Speaker 4 (01:16:58):
Can I highlight why this like a real big sign
of this and this has been going on for like
over ten years now, this movement however, right I mentioned it,
I think on stream recently, but my local HMV got
refurbished right and last week or so it opened and
I popped in what they've done with the place you know.
(01:17:20):
I look around downstairs and it's mainly like merchant stuff downstairs,
which it was before, and that's fine. There's still like
a sort of K pop section because obviously that's very popular.
Speaker 2 (01:17:34):
You know.
Speaker 1 (01:17:34):
Yeah, back in the day, listening to K pop was
a niche thing, and now it's on the radio and
they've got a whole stores to do with it now here.
Speaker 4 (01:17:42):
So I there's many merchants, says, that's fine, pop culture
type merch whatever. Go upstairs because that's where they always
had that, the CDs, the vinyls, the DVDs, the Blu rays.
I look around up there, there's still obviously CDs and vinyls,
and then like headphones and stuff. It's rearranged quite a
lot though. They've got a book section now, which I
(01:18:02):
was really surprised about. They've added actual book section, complete
with like sitting down area and stuff. All they need
is to sell coffee. Yeah, quite nice. But this this
is decrease the DVD and blue rays section. And I'm
going up and down this this area and I'm like, nah,
(01:18:23):
this surely hasn't happened. By the way, the book section
has a manga section, I me point out, So yeah,
that's good. But I'm going around the DVD's and blue
rays and I'm like, so, I can't find the one
thing I look at, right, I can't find the anime.
Don't there's no anime there. However, I go, I go
(01:18:45):
back downstairs, right, and I clearly I didn't look hard
enough because on the ground floor the dv some blue
rays that have been moved to the ground floor, the
anime anime section down stairs now next to the k
pop and they have fried a place in the store
(01:19:06):
now that they.
Speaker 1 (01:19:07):
Did because obviously when you walk into the ch and
H and bs, they've got like the Narrow too, the
Demon Slayer, the definite kind of merch that you see,
and the drinks and stuff as well. But yeah, it's
just now surprise and hearing that they've dedicated a whole
anime section to go along with that with all the
(01:19:29):
k pop stuff because they have like Korean stuff there
as well. It's just merging all into this like not
a niche thing anymore, and like any it's anyone's game now,
which is can be good and bad because obviously there's
they're quicker to run out of stuff because it was
like when it was niche you could actually get a
(01:19:49):
hold of things, but obviously if it's going to become big,
it's like fighting everythings and scalpers and you know that
kind of stuff, like the Pokemon cards can't even.
Speaker 4 (01:19:59):
A lot of things didn't exist then. Remember remember the CEO,
Well I'm not sure if ceo is the right term,
but the head of Manga UK at the time, Jerome
Mazanderani saying in response to people on Twitter asking for
a Planet Blu rays instead of and he said, you know,
(01:20:20):
you guys got to buy it. You guys got to
buy and Planet on Blu Ray at the time was
certainly something that wouldn't wouldn't sell enough. But we have
had Planet on Blue Ray now in the UK for
several years. I know that that's just the thing that
happened randomly now with no new show, no nothing, it
just came out as a classic. I guess the numbers
make sense.
Speaker 1 (01:20:40):
Because yeah, because when it was a niche thing, we
would only get hold because obviously the UK was small
and stuff. It was like, yeah, we get the DVD
rights and all that, even though there was Blu rays
and stuff, but yeah, it was just we were there
when a transition from mostly DVDs to then they were
actually getting into the works with like Blu Rays and
opening other companies and a limited around and then it's
(01:21:01):
just boom, it's now everywhere, which is me is kind
of cool as well, because when you actually mention hobbies
now like anime matter and all that, yeah, people know
what you're talking about instead of you try and explain
what it is first. Even though I've explained it a
lot of times to my family members to say this
and that and all that, they still need reminding what
(01:21:25):
it is because see, like it's not their thing, which
is fair enough. But like now other people you can
talk to and they you know exactly what about. Like
my brother watches like some anime with me. He will
randomly talk to a guy who has nothing to do
with anime or all that, and they have seen like
Attack on Titan and stuff, because to them it was
just a normal good show. But then it's an Then
(01:21:47):
you find it's an anime kind of thing, like people
are watching them not realizing their anime because obviously Netflix
all that before didn't specify the difference. But like, yeah,
people would watch these and actually quite enjoy them. And
then you just they always by the way, and then
they go, oh, that's.
Speaker 3 (01:22:03):
They probably know it's an anime, but it's because it's
so mainstream and because what they've been told by probably
somebody else to watch it. It's like you sort of
put that past.
Speaker 2 (01:22:13):
A lot of people aren't too closed mind, just simply
it's anime.
Speaker 1 (01:22:19):
A lot of people I've come across in the past,
it's like, yeah, because of anime, they think it's going
to be like all the like the Kiddy kind of
or too girly or something. But it's hard to explain
to them that it's like kind of the shows that
they've watched or like I don't know, like Swat or something.
And then it's just like, but it's like animated, but
(01:22:40):
it's still good because they can get away with animation.
Speaker 3 (01:22:44):
And the thing is it's not just anime anyway, because
it's also to like the Amazon Prime show Invincible, which
is all like basically just a cartoon. It's exactly the
same thing, and people, even though that's really good as well,
people turn around and be like, oh, okay, what because
it's animated, Like I don't like it. And at the
end of day, you know you're entitled to not like
(01:23:04):
it's animated.
Speaker 1 (01:23:05):
Yeah, because they still think additions kids like for kids.
Speaker 3 (01:23:09):
Yeah, but some people don't like it because like some
people like live action over animated, Like it's like going
to a film to it. You know, some people don't
want to watch something animated. It's perfectly fine, but at
the end of day, they're probably gonna end up missing
out if you're not watching, you know, if you just
simply because of that reason.
Speaker 2 (01:23:27):
But it just doesn't. Yeah, It's just it's one of
those things again.
Speaker 3 (01:23:30):
It's like it is like when Netflix are doing a
good job with basically shoving these things down your croat
really and you know, it does work, and it may
get more popular, may say sort of what it is,
but you know, it's I'm all for them putting more
stuff out there anyway, even though I don't watch anime myself,
Like I'm happy.
Speaker 1 (01:23:49):
For it to get it sort of, you know, yeah,
because it was hard to get like merchant stuff, and
you would always have to like either buy it from
Japan and hopefully gets shipped and stup for you know,
and now it's actually in shops physically, which.
Speaker 4 (01:24:06):
Is like I remember having the similar conversation with about
animation as such to my previous land lady, and she
was she almost she made a comment like I never
heard that that that term before and my live action,
because yeah, it's just movies.
Speaker 1 (01:24:32):
I've had that encounter before where I've said, oh, it's
live action. So it becomes part of my vocabulary because
obviously talking about animal live action because of us and
all that it. Yeah, people get confused when I say
live action because obviously I got my parents to watch
the One Piece live action and I had to explain
(01:24:53):
to him that it was an animation, it was live action,
and they looked at me a bit funny because obviously,
like who says live action when it's peak. Yeah, so
they actually enjoyed it as well, so they can't wait
for season two that's.
Speaker 2 (01:25:04):
In the works, So who enjoy one Piece?
Speaker 1 (01:25:09):
So I might dive in and watch the whole of
the animation of One Piece, but I probably won't survive it.
He's going to stream it as well and get band
straight away.
Speaker 2 (01:25:20):
Just just stream the entire show. Yeah, it's great.
Speaker 1 (01:25:24):
Uh segwayway, Segway.
Speaker 4 (01:25:30):
I just wanted one more thing I want to say,
because I mean sort of talked about it but rarely
asked the question specifically about you think it does going
mainstream take something away? It kind of does I feel more,
but I feel more strongly the other way. And I
talked about this with regards to Formula one as well,
which had a similar thing, And it's probably more relevant
(01:25:53):
because that's had a lot of new fans coming with
the Netflix show in the last five years. Now, some
of the newer fans are not They have a different
way of enjoying the sport to the older fans, which
is different. But I think at the end of the day,
it's fine because because and you know, as Adro touched on,
(01:26:16):
I can, I can. If I mentioned F one to
someone now, almost anyone, they'll be able to they'll talk
back to me about F one. And before Drive to
Survive the Netflix show that that wouldn't happen, you know,
And I could talk to anyone about F one now
and yeah, some people be like, oh, it's only F one,
(01:26:37):
blah blah blah, it's other of most sports is better,
and that's probably true, but also it's the starting point,
like once I get talking to him about like my
boss at work, I talked to my F one the
time he realized that one. He's into sport as a whole,
to be fair, but it likes f one. But I'll
always you horn in like otherest thing, Like you're talking
about the off season and stuff, and I'm like, dude,
(01:26:58):
say twenty four it's we can put it on. He
doesn't yet, but you know we've got maker about it.
I'd be talking about eighty five hundred all of May,
and you know we'll work on it. But you know
it's a starting point to get people to go further.
And anime is the same. Like I accidentally let my
coworkers add me on Steam. I of course gave them
my I didn't give them. I didn't give them the
(01:27:20):
rest of one. I gave them my my my like
old Steam where most of my games are so stored.
But I forget I have Calgary from rewriters, my proper picture.
This doesn't really help. And of course, of course I
noticed that because I haven't exactly announced. I like, but
I don't really watch. But you know, they commented on that,
(01:27:42):
but like it wasn't that weird of a thing. It's
just anime. Like they're all nerdy people anyway. You know,
anime is in a similar thing where you're more likely
to just be able to talk to people about it
now where you never could before, and even if that
changes the scene and the vibe and everything, and I'm
perfect okay with that if it means that it's not
(01:28:06):
I can talk about was with you guys exactly.
Speaker 3 (01:28:09):
Yeah, accessibility is huge, really, I always think just being
able to actually go out to a streaming platform and
get it. I know that if you want to watch everything,
you may have to buy two a free, but with
Netflix you're probably sound with basically majority of things, like
if you like this spot on there, like Amazon exactly,
(01:28:30):
saying there's some football games on there like it just
makes a massive difference and it gets more fans into
all of these niches.
Speaker 2 (01:28:38):
Is ideal, I think is brilliant.
Speaker 1 (01:28:40):
The only the only service I haven't bought yet because
I know most of my shows that I've watched and
season two's oft been h what's the word licensed buy
Disney instead, so obviously went from Crenchroad to Disney. Yeah,
it's the only one I haven't bought yet because obviously
(01:29:00):
that's just going to add more money to my already
student servers they do, So, yeah, it's a bit of
a bit of a hassle when they go from one
place to another depending on the season.
Speaker 3 (01:29:14):
That's the one thing that's why things like one week
three trials exist so you can then just watch them.
Speaker 1 (01:29:21):
I do. I keeping a lot of three month ones
for Disney, so I might as well just use them.
Speaker 3 (01:29:28):
And if you're going to watch Disney, if you get Disney,
watch Daredevil because there they were born again is fantastic.
Speaker 1 (01:29:34):
Oh yeah, I watched what's it called screen rants Dared
Devil trailer video thing and they're saying how bad the
other seasons were compared to the new one.
Speaker 3 (01:29:49):
That's the new season's like really like gritty, like it's
that typical like Marvel sort of found their foot with it,
and like where the others are quite you know the
other's and actually double mouth studios like some of them
a bit like you'll be like, you know, but this
is like the story is really like strong and it's
quite dark, and that's what I want, you know, we
(01:30:09):
want Dar Devil to be a bit more edgy like
because punishes in as well and you know, kills everybody. Fantastic,
Like it's amazing. It's literally finished watching the newest episode
today and it's just anymore any more what happens?
Speaker 2 (01:30:23):
Come on, it's really good.
Speaker 1 (01:30:25):
The only time I've seen Daredevil appear in this show
was the Spider Man movie because I knew who was
away where he becomes his lawyer and then yeah, like
even though he's a cameo, I knew who exactly who
he was. But yeah, it's it's great that is niche shows.
(01:30:52):
Niche stuff is becoming more popularized, so it's not just
all the nerdy, kind of weird kids watching it as
they would put us in that category kind of thing.
Now it's like anyone watches it, like, yeah, so, uh,
Tangent not Tangent Segway, Tangier. Yes, oh wait, that's Tangier
(01:31:20):
from Demons.
Speaker 2 (01:31:21):
There.
Speaker 1 (01:31:21):
I thought, you know, I thought you were doing a
road that's me. I wish I wish I was tanger
He's quite cool. Talk about Tangrou.
Speaker 2 (01:31:34):
Quickly about hot Sun.
Speaker 1 (01:31:35):
I can't. The Demons Slayer movie is going to come
out at the end of the year, the first one
as it was announced to come out. It was announced earlier.
It was announced last year December that they're going to
do announce another announcement this year and then our announcement
(01:31:56):
was like, oh, it's going to come out September. It's
like that's quite far away. When it was announced it
to be a bit sooner. But no, yeah, that that's
going to be interesting watch. I'm I'm going to get
tickets and all sorts of that one. Hopefully I'll drag
Wrescer with me. If if he Binge watches the the
rest of the series that he hasn't seen yet, unlikely,
(01:32:19):
but yeah, that one of them. There was one of
the animes that like when did the wow factor with
the animation style, the budget, the the unfold, the Ball
Universe studio. I think it's called that correct.
Speaker 4 (01:32:35):
I still think the animation is not that.
Speaker 1 (01:32:40):
When it's like intense fighting scenes and stuff, the animation is.
Speaker 3 (01:32:47):
Yes.
Speaker 4 (01:32:49):
I really felt like in season one that was one.
Speaker 1 (01:32:52):
Yes, there was one animation, that's what that's what kicked
off its popularity. That one episode in episode nineteen, that
one that obviously that whole thing, But there is more
of it in the other seasons. It isn't just down
to the one episode. There is more episodes of that
because of what happens up to it. Even the last
(01:33:13):
episode was like, oh my God. But yeah, let's tangiro
to a tangent not tangent segue. I think you haven't
started either Summer Pockets or Ladders yet.
Speaker 4 (01:33:27):
I haven't either.
Speaker 1 (01:33:29):
I haven't started watching some Pockets because I wanted to
play the game first, because I did the mistake of
not completing Rewrite yet before watching a bit of Rewrite
to then realize that I should stop watching Rewrite to
then play the rest of Rewrite. Yeah, so with those
ones that nos, I'm going to play first before I
watch them. But it does look interesting, and obviously I
(01:33:52):
have no idea if that it's good or not yet
as an anime, but it will certainly not suffer as
much from b anime form as Rewrite does, Like I
would just.
Speaker 4 (01:34:04):
Say, it's not as complicated as a story. So yeah,
Rewrite was just basically never gonna work.
Speaker 1 (01:34:13):
Yeah, because I didn't.
Speaker 4 (01:34:14):
Watch is actually amazing. Little Busters works as well as.
Speaker 1 (01:34:16):
It does anything done by Key in the past. I
did watch the anime first, What Angel Beats itself was
an anime first anyway, which obviously started me off watching anime,
and then Clannard Little Busters. Yeah, I watched them all first.
But now when I got into vision novels. I feel
(01:34:38):
like I want to play the game first before watching
and then.
Speaker 4 (01:34:41):
Have more.
Speaker 1 (01:34:43):
What's the word, not respect, but more interest or observant
in the anime itself, if that makes sense, from the original,
from the original piece that it's from. Like I've been
doing that manga where I where I've been reading mangas
(01:35:03):
first and then watching the show, and then we're getting
like more wowed because obviously like, oh, it's that panel
animated and they've done this with that kind of thing.
It's it's an interesting way of seeing a show differently
if you've seen the original source material first. But then
there's other shows where I have watched the show first
and it works better because of the major plot that
(01:35:27):
happens in it. I would rather see the animation than
reading it, but I've done vice versa, so it depends
whatever floats you book.
Speaker 4 (01:35:37):
One thing I always forget is that the silent voice
cut off, Like the entire last story from the anime.
We forget there's a whole school festival. Yeah, like it
was just erased. And I'm so used to the movie
version now obviously because it is fantastic that I forgot
that when I watched that in the cinema at the time,
(01:35:58):
and it sort of was getting it. It was ending,
and I.
Speaker 1 (01:36:03):
Like ended way before like the book. And yeah, because
there's another one of those where I read the manga first.
Obviously it was before like any announcement of it, but yeah,
and then seeing how the two stories, like how they
can can turn it into a TV show or a
movie and what they have to move or whatever. But yeah,
it's it's just like, as you said, it was just
(01:36:23):
like we were expecting a little bit longer because obviously
we read the book first, but there's so much they
can put into a show to make it still because obviously, yeah,
it was the whole point of them, like the whole
figuring out part came after where it ended in the movie,
but they still made it fit the movie ending, which.
Speaker 4 (01:36:46):
They made it work.
Speaker 1 (01:36:49):
Where they can't because they've skipped something in the book.
And that's when we read the mong or because it's
better and like for example, Rosarien Vam higher very etchy anime,
not not very fighting stuff happening and all that, but
then you read the manga and it's very dark. It's
(01:37:11):
like more combat in it, and the story goes obviously
a little bit longer because obviously it's the story continues more.
Speaker 3 (01:37:16):
It's still it's still quite Yeah, well, it's.
Speaker 1 (01:37:22):
Less in the manga than it is obviously in the
TV where they made it like every five seconds, but
the story of the dark story that makes up for it,
which obviously is a bit disheartening where they take a
show and like ruin it with lots of fan service.
Where I will talk about that now because that's a
(01:37:42):
good segue. Is I've obviously finished I was a fan
of Initial D. I finished Initial D. So I'm on
the MF ghost and the races are good, the characters
are good, the story is good so far, I'm on
season one. The only little thing that annoys me, obviously
they do have them in real racing and stuff, is
(01:38:02):
what they call grid girls in MF Ghosts. They're called
the angels, and they're very heavily uh sexualized. Let's put
it with that, with like the buttcam and the boobcam
and all that kind of thing before they say that
before they ask the question to then broadcast, like what
(01:38:23):
their thoughts are on the race and all that. So, yeah,
that bit slightly annoyed me from where how it was
when initially and now they're kind of like putting a
little bit of fans overs in this kind of genre,
which I don't know if it makes sense to rest
or all that, because I've seen how well they exists.
Speaker 4 (01:38:40):
Yeah, race queens still exist mainly just in Japan. They
have been removed from most other things. But obviously you
wouldn't get like a boob camera and ask cam anyway
in real life, Like that's ridiculous.
Speaker 1 (01:38:52):
So like they'll go, oh, you've got to be like
prepared because obviously, like because obviously one of the girls
is new, and like they literally like the girl they
did the what's the word where the race board is
where they go, like they move from first to all
that when they get past and all that, it's not digital,
(01:39:12):
it's analogue. So the angel has to go up and
actually pull it off the board and put the new
one on. And as they're doing it, the cameraman goes
towards them, but then zooms into there. But obviously they're
wearing bluemos.
Speaker 4 (01:39:26):
Anime and obviously these events they're doing don't exist in
real life. But you wouldn't have a grid girl or
race queen doing that job anyway.
Speaker 1 (01:39:38):
So because they did say that was anything that was different,
because obviously, like digital placing exists.
Speaker 4 (01:39:45):
But even even even in real life depends on the series,
but certainly in Everyone they still hold out an analog
pitboard in case things stop working, so that is still
a thing they do. But again, it wouldn't be a
Grid girl doing it. It would just be a guy
from the team, not necessarily a guy, but like not
someone dressed like that is what I mean, like someone
(01:40:07):
who is actually member of the team properly.
Speaker 1 (01:40:09):
And the winner gets and the first three winners get
to choose an angel to kiss them on the cheek.
Speaker 4 (01:40:16):
So yeah, that's super fucking weird. So yeah, that's just
anime being.
Speaker 1 (01:40:22):
I thought, because the way initial D was where it's
just mostly guys in their cars and yet there's a
few girls here and there, and it's just like MF
Ghost were set three years later and it's yeah, it's
very like the Grid girls are very like skimpy and like, yeah,
I was just like, ah, I want to enjoy this show, please,
(01:40:42):
there's there's there's there is a time and place for
fan service, whether if there's too much of it, it
does ruin the story in my opinion. I know there's
people out there that watch it regardless, but you know,
I had to. I had to get that out off
my chest. Fair But it's a good show still with
the modern cars and the racing style. More I'm getting
(01:41:03):
into more. I'm getting into racing more now because of
the legal aspect of this one. Now, obviously the other
one was street racing where it wasn't up to code.
Let's go with that.
Speaker 4 (01:41:20):
Shall we do a few questions from our.
Speaker 1 (01:41:24):
Yes, and you can choose that racing question because I
have an answer.
Speaker 4 (01:41:31):
Well, the if you could make your own YouTuber racing team,
what would it be called?
Speaker 1 (01:41:36):
I misread it. I thought it was anyway.
Speaker 4 (01:41:44):
Because you probably don't have an answer for other ways.
So okay, if you added a racing team of anime characters,
detail it right for.
Speaker 1 (01:41:54):
The For the YouTuber side of it, I would obviously
pick Rescer because I know what he's like and is
good at it. I've been watching a few racing streams
of Riley. I would obviously choose Riley because I know
them as well.
Speaker 4 (01:42:10):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (01:42:11):
And then alongside them, I would obviously choose Takai Fujiwara,
a kind of Canada Riverton, which is he's the main
guy in m F Ghost. He's the British main guy
in Ghost. His name is Canada, Canada, Canada, Canada. Okay,
(01:42:35):
I didn't. Okay, kind of he's cool, but it's his
Japanese name is kind of geary. But his British name
is Riverton is his surname, so I'll choose him as well.
How many people do we get in a racing team?
Speaker 4 (01:42:54):
I don't know, infinite there's four, and then I.
Speaker 1 (01:42:59):
Will probably choose Beckingham. I think his name is Beckingham.
The German guy who's inn m F.
Speaker 4 (01:43:08):
Ghost, David Beckham.
Speaker 2 (01:43:10):
David Beckham is the driver.
Speaker 1 (01:43:15):
Sorry Beam Bauer Beckham Bauer, Michael Beckham. Bauer is the guy,
the German guy in m F Ghost who drives a
automatic Porsche. I think it is. I'll choose him from
(01:43:35):
what I've seen. He's a bit of an ass, but
he's racing. He races an automatic and I like automatic cars.
Speaker 4 (01:43:44):
Why why do you?
Speaker 2 (01:43:47):
Why are you the only person?
Speaker 1 (01:43:48):
Because gears worrying me, so I've been more focusing off.
I'm going to learn the drive automatic.
Speaker 2 (01:43:54):
That's because you.
Speaker 3 (01:43:54):
Can't dry you need to you know, as soon as
you drive a car, it's like they're not worried all.
Speaker 4 (01:44:00):
Unfortunately, I have to alert you to the fact that
automatic cars also have gears.
Speaker 2 (01:44:09):
That's true.
Speaker 1 (01:44:10):
They have park drive.
Speaker 2 (01:44:13):
It's just reverse.
Speaker 4 (01:44:16):
No no, no, no, yeah, but when you put it
in drive, it still goes to gears by itself. Now
until you get to a hill and you need to
put it in first or second specifically, which you can
also do so.
Speaker 1 (01:44:30):
But okay, he tries.
Speaker 4 (01:44:31):
I'll tell you what if you if you don't, if
you don't like gears, you should get an electric car.
Speaker 1 (01:44:35):
I was looking at that because guess what they actually
built the car I want with an electric engine.
Speaker 3 (01:44:43):
What car is that?
Speaker 1 (01:44:44):
I Toyo six, the original, the new one eighties one
they've built rebuilt as an electric vehicle.
Speaker 4 (01:44:55):
Okay, but you can't just buy that. That's a project.
Speaker 1 (01:44:58):
I won't get hold of out a bit if that's
the case. But yeah, Beckenbauer drives a Porsche seven eighteen
Cayman S and Riverton drives the Toyota GT eight six
because I know the latest one after that is a
gr I was looking at.
Speaker 4 (01:45:20):
Yeah, they need to do another series by the same
Mangaka where the main guy drives at g are A
six and plays I Racing all the time, because that's
in that game.
Speaker 1 (01:45:30):
Oh that's what I was going to say. You would
like Beckenbauer because he is like you. He only he
became a well you are a professional driver, but he
became a professional ractar drive because he played games like
the ones you play. That was mentioned in the story
where I'm at.
Speaker 4 (01:45:51):
I guess that makes sense though, because of course there's
no motors proper motorsport anymore in that world, right.
Speaker 1 (01:45:56):
So, oh no, there's proper race stuff because Riverton comes
from the British Racing Academy or wherever it was called.
Speaker 4 (01:46:07):
But isn't the MF ghost type of racing the only
racing left? Because they talk about how back I remember
I watched episode one and I think it back and
about they were saying he should have been like racing
at Lemon, but like they don't do Lamon anymore.
Speaker 1 (01:46:20):
So like, oh no, racing doesn't exist, but this is
a different kind of racing where like it's live streamed
and all the drones following and all that they do
mention other tracks.
Speaker 4 (01:46:32):
Yeah, I thought they just got rid of it.
Speaker 1 (01:46:33):
Also, another Rester Egg for the dub fans. I think
it's also for the sub as well, the ending preview
screens where they get read out like next time blah
blah blah is read out by the voice actor of Tacmi,
so yes, he attacked me kind of appears in it
as the over voice for the end preview cards at
(01:46:55):
the moment he is mentioned in the show like all
the other character. Well actually get to see the other
characters as well from in their fifties. But yeah, it's
quite interesting. Cow wait to watch more of it when
I get round to it. Next question, Oh yeah, your
answer to the question, I don't really have.
Speaker 4 (01:47:18):
I mean, like, you know, I drive for Murai and
it's like, well I just make that, just make your
variety exactly. You know, it's Jordan asking us. It's like
we're already on a team, Like what more do we
what more are we baking? I don't know, So how
about end up with just with do you have.
Speaker 1 (01:47:38):
Characters you want to turn into a race team?
Speaker 2 (01:47:43):
I mean not especially the thing I hate the most
in the world is racing, So.
Speaker 3 (01:47:52):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (01:47:53):
I mean, it's just it could be anyone. Like, honestly,
I don't really have an answer.
Speaker 3 (01:47:59):
I guess I just if I wanted to pick people
in a racing thing, I'd probably pick really stupid people
that you know, weren't actually gonna help me at all.
Speaker 1 (01:48:09):
But in the anime twist of all things that people
aren't very good at it and being the winners and
the fashion anime, because that's my second LEAs thing in.
Speaker 4 (01:48:23):
The world anyway, as a favorite thing in the world
is go for the champ.
Speaker 1 (01:48:35):
Before you got start. Anyway, racing kind of thing I
got really into because of Rescuer fine enough being a
model on his streams, learning all the caution flags. The
next question, No, I'm just I was just saying about
racing before we move on, and then watching, uh, what's
(01:48:56):
the F four anime? I watched Overtake Overtake as it
and then something happened in it and I called out
what flag was going to be used or what light
was going to be used, the safety car kind of thing,
and I was like, ah, thanks Resca for all this,
And now obviously I watched the initial d and then mfgh,
it's just like all the racing terminologies and liking cars
(01:49:18):
now is all thanks to Resca I just have to
put that out there.
Speaker 2 (01:49:22):
Your wife thanking him. He's ruined your life.
Speaker 1 (01:49:26):
He's opened me up to like cars because growing up
cars were just all that car looks nice. I never
knew like I never like thinking about all these complicated
names and all that kind of oh that car just
looks nice. Now I actually know these things and like
no car names, no two point leader engine kind of
talk and all this it's just.
Speaker 4 (01:49:46):
Like two point engine kind of tour. Still might need
some some work here, I don't know.
Speaker 1 (01:49:59):
Well, one of the cars in the show is the
too something learangine thing. But yeah, but like it's like
Rescuer and all the other YouTuber racers that obviously associate Rescuer.
I've learned so much and it's just like, yeah, I'm
now liking cars. I buy model make, I buy kits
now where you build your own little model cars. Okay
(01:50:20):
they're initial D cars at the moment, but like you know,
start baby steps and now I'm actually liking cars and
want to be more like into cars. I'm just putting
that out That is neat goodt question.
Speaker 4 (01:50:35):
If you can collab with any vsuber, who would it
be and why you already do that. You're doing it
right now. The more interesting.
Speaker 1 (01:50:50):
The person I would probably like to collab with, was
it YouTuber or non YouTuber?
Speaker 4 (01:50:56):
It says v tuber. I mean, you know, if you
have someone you really want to say that isn't a YouTuber,
and then you might as well go yep.
Speaker 1 (01:51:06):
With Chris, I would like I.
Speaker 4 (01:51:08):
Just could just say iron Mouse because you probably find anyway.
Speaker 1 (01:51:12):
Yeah, I know what I mean. Like it's literally like
being like the kind of YouTuber in his stream, like
Iron Mouse is like that kind of like one real
person one YouTuber kind of collap I like to do.
I haven't done because obviously I would just collab with YouTubers,
but yeah, YouTuber would probably be there's so many YouTubers
(01:51:36):
I watched. Probably obviously the more famous one. Iron Mouse
will probably be like a fun banter because obviously get
to like when she does collapse, she does it with
like a few others, So like you, probably I'll probably
run into Cairo and all the other V Show jo members.
That'd be kind of a fun banter. Clipping Maury would
(01:51:56):
like to collab with, you know, that would be fun
because they're the ones I like properly respect and like
their music and jazz.
Speaker 4 (01:52:10):
I struggle to answer this one. I think because a
lot of a lot of people I like have a
lot of respect for, I'm not sure i'd necessarily want
to collab with specifically because I'm thinking, like, what would
we do, you know, Like, you know, I think, you know,
Calliope Moury being someone who was very important in me
(01:52:33):
becoming a YouTuber. But then like, I can't imagine doing us, Like,
what the hell are we gonna stream?
Speaker 1 (01:52:39):
Well, wasn't the Hollow Life girls into racing?
Speaker 4 (01:52:44):
Well, there was a thing. Yeah, I mean, maybe there's
something there, but either way, it's it just seems odd
that I mean, you know, she comes to mind though,
because yeah, she was the start of it all, I guess,
I mean, yeah, that's a fitting one, I think is
neither of them. Those two were the hosts of the
Hollow Life English Race event, which did not go as planned,
(01:53:07):
but neither of them were actually driving, although that being said,
I think Irish did hop on. However, they weren't like participating.
They were like the hosts rather than that. In fact, yeah,
maybe Bibu because Bibu was like one of the winners
of that and she did pretty well despite being on controller,
So maybe.
Speaker 1 (01:53:28):
Go against the strong racers because that's in your bio.
Mm hmm, come to challenge the race.
Speaker 4 (01:53:36):
Yeah, well, I mean yeah, Iron Moss comes to mind
as well, just because yeah, again a lot of respect
for her. Yeah, there's probably a few more people are
not thinking of.
Speaker 3 (01:53:49):
But I don't know.
Speaker 4 (01:53:51):
Again, I'm not sure what I would do in a
collab with these people, but yeah, there's people that come
to mind. I guess, Oh, what's past Stir I would
probably like to collab with. She's a YouTuber that wormed
away into the Vanos Crew. She seems really fun and
kind of interesting out there as well.
Speaker 1 (01:54:12):
But yeah, she's kind of fun. She's called Pasta Ravioli. Ah, yeah,
she's a YouTuber with pastor in her hair.
Speaker 4 (01:54:21):
Is she Italian?
Speaker 1 (01:54:23):
I don't think so. But she was the one who
showed you the bedroom artwork where she had like the
among Us in the corner and like you had to
kind of find all the among Us characters. I think, yeah,
I showed you when.
Speaker 4 (01:54:36):
She Yes, yeah, I remember this person.
Speaker 1 (01:54:39):
Yeah, yeah, guys muted, I don't know if he's got
an answer.
Speaker 3 (01:54:44):
He must know some YouTuber was falling asleep listen to
you too.
Speaker 2 (01:54:51):
Yeah, I don't know.
Speaker 3 (01:54:51):
I mean I don't really know any YouTubers, so I
would personally not say one because I don't know any.
Speaker 2 (01:54:57):
I mean I could say hot shot, that's maybe one.
Speaker 1 (01:55:05):
Is there any content?
Speaker 4 (01:55:08):
Guy?
Speaker 1 (01:55:09):
Guy?
Speaker 4 (01:55:10):
That was the answer to the next question.
Speaker 2 (01:55:12):
Sorry, what's the next question?
Speaker 4 (01:55:16):
Who's the biggest fervor?
Speaker 2 (01:55:19):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (01:55:20):
Skip that one?
Speaker 4 (01:55:21):
I thought that was a dumb questions, not as seriously
going to go.
Speaker 2 (01:55:25):
Through that.
Speaker 1 (01:55:29):
Under the bus? Okay, exactly.
Speaker 4 (01:55:34):
Is there anyone? Is there anyone outside of YouTube in
though that comes to mind.
Speaker 2 (01:55:39):
That's the thing.
Speaker 3 (01:55:39):
I don't really watch any influence or anything, so I mean,
to be honest, if it was the closest I probably
could get to something that like is to do with
what I like, and you know it's also to do
YouTube and whatever. Is probably the up down down crew
(01:56:01):
from there. Basically A they're wrestlers, so like that you're
like wrestlers in like they still wrestle now, but they
play games and like with other wrestlers, so like it's.
Speaker 4 (01:56:15):
Yes, you're their.
Speaker 1 (01:56:19):
Horizon with the wrestler of youtub were meeting actual wrestlers
and playing.
Speaker 2 (01:56:23):
Yeah, exactly, Yeah, it would be it would be a
good chance to you know, sort of get.
Speaker 1 (01:56:30):
In their business emails.
Speaker 2 (01:56:32):
Yeah, I'm sure that will go.
Speaker 1 (01:56:35):
Stranger things have happened. That's how some of the people
groups they've literally just because one person DMed another, because
you can do that on YouTube like when.
Speaker 3 (01:56:45):
You but we're talking the quality between us and them
the astronomical.
Speaker 1 (01:56:55):
Yeah, but there's more to you you going if we
do more.
Speaker 3 (01:56:58):
Of podcasts and more street I'm sure that we eventually
get there, right.
Speaker 1 (01:57:05):
Yeah, we Well we're getting there. We've got we've got
a lovely discord full of our lovely fans, and we
do stream the streaming the same game every time. But
anything else what?
Speaker 2 (01:57:25):
Yes, so we do we finish all the questions? And
that was that was that.
Speaker 4 (01:57:28):
I think that's a good point to stop more questions
who's the biggest perverse? After that, I feel like the
next one is a long one though. But are you
just a simple question? And I don't think it is.
(01:57:49):
Why are youtubing?
Speaker 2 (01:57:51):
Oh yeah, we can't.
Speaker 1 (01:57:52):
That will be a question for the next episode, right
down a formula answer, because.
Speaker 4 (01:58:02):
That's a question that deserves a longer talk.
Speaker 1 (01:58:04):
I think it deserves, it deserves deep dive. Why we
are we if that makes sense, because we are why
we are?
Speaker 2 (01:58:14):
Yes, well we're not called well we was we was?
Speaker 4 (01:58:19):
We was.
Speaker 1 (01:58:21):
We was. But yeah, there's a discord link if anyone
who wants to join and join the bounter. It is
for the racing talk most of the time, but uh,
I try to dive in where I can because I'm
still learning the lingo. But yes, come join and have
a blast. See if you can get guide to talk
(01:58:42):
in it as well, and.
Speaker 3 (01:58:44):
Also post as many questions as you possibly can using.
Speaker 2 (01:58:51):
Make sure that's stupid.
Speaker 1 (01:58:53):
Continue posting the questions in the discord question channel because
we will keep doing them, so we recycle them kind
of thing a hopefully and our podcast will have a
topic now and then. But we will ramble like I
(01:59:15):
have been doing because once I started stop that's one
of the sides to me because I am autistic. H So, yeah,
all my autistic brothers and sisters out there, there's no
(01:59:35):
one else there there?
Speaker 4 (01:59:40):
Are you still there?
Speaker 2 (01:59:41):
Well?
Speaker 1 (01:59:42):
I don't think.
Speaker 3 (01:59:44):
Yeah, anyway, have we said all we want to say
about the subject before we leave? Before we leave Universal
Studios in the dust and never speak of it again.
Speaker 4 (01:59:57):
As it opens in sixty time, yeah, we on Where's podcast? Episode?
Oh yeah, guys remember an episode two? It's open now
I r l stream time.
Speaker 2 (02:00:16):
And we'll be billionaires by then, so it be fine.
Speaker 4 (02:00:21):
I'm sure. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (02:00:24):
Sheltered from his mansion, Universal is open.
Speaker 4 (02:00:27):
By the way, Why do I sound so old.
Speaker 1 (02:00:31):
Age because stages age rappidly from thirty It just goes
all downhill and then jumps in his lamb.
Speaker 4 (02:00:46):
No matter how rich I am, you wouldn't catch me
dead owning a Lamborghini.
Speaker 1 (02:00:53):
That was fine. I'll just take it off yourself. Uh no, but.
Speaker 4 (02:00:58):
Buy it mate.
Speaker 1 (02:00:59):
A quick question out there before we end, what is
your ideal car non racing?
Speaker 4 (02:01:12):
You just said this Apple car play?
Speaker 1 (02:01:14):
Did you say Aldi A three?
Speaker 4 (02:01:17):
Audi A three my Apple car play? I think it's
I don't have a lot of requirements for my car.
I don't know if if it's a central remote locking
will be pretty good too.
Speaker 1 (02:01:32):
Actually, my sister owns an Audi Aldi. Sorry, because I
think it's an A one or an A three. But
one of them, they said was more catered to being
a girl car. She said, well, I mean that's just
a bush anyway, I told her like because she goes, oh,
(02:01:53):
and I says what about this one it goes all that. Yeah,
that was more cadus for boys side between an A
one and A three. She's said, the one she's got
is more what girls drive kind of car.
Speaker 3 (02:02:05):
I mean, I would only say about like a Fear
of five hundred is like commonly a young woman's car.
Speaker 2 (02:02:12):
But every of the cars whatever I.
Speaker 1 (02:02:15):
My ID car, my ideal car, is ID car. What
is obviously either the A e eighty six from the eighties,
of course, but recently because of them. Of course, I've
been looking at reasonable cars and I could get hold
if I wanted to, I could get hold of a
twenty twelve toot Toyota GT eight six if.
Speaker 4 (02:02:43):
I want to, just wonderful the older eighty six to
the new eighty six, and you described it as well,
now I'm looking at reasonable cars.
Speaker 1 (02:02:53):
Well it's no, it's it's not new. It's well, it's
older because the newer one is the twenty twenty R
eight six, which is Yeah, buying.
Speaker 4 (02:03:04):
A new car is obviously astronomical around.
Speaker 1 (02:03:08):
I've seen one for around thirteen grand in blue on yeah,
on a website that I could probably get hold of
one if I ever did want one, if but I
first learned. I need to learn how to drive. There's
no point by it I can't use it.
Speaker 4 (02:03:25):
Yeah, honestly, honestly, I mean I don't even know. I
presume you could buy it an automatic. But honestly, if
you're going to buy a sports car like that, you're
you're buying a manual and you're learning to drive manual
because you will regret not like if you ever come
to that point, you would regret not having the manual
(02:03:47):
for sure, like no doubt.
Speaker 3 (02:03:49):
It makes way more sense just to learn the manual anyway,
because then you have the option to do automatic.
Speaker 1 (02:03:57):
But I some people have founded of automatic, and they
did say with like, how the how I am with like,
I think I would overthink the gear situation how like
I think it would like.
Speaker 2 (02:04:10):
But you'll get used to Yeah, you need.
Speaker 1 (02:04:14):
I need to learn it to to then to like
realize if I'm going to be good at it or not,
which is that's a fair point.
Speaker 3 (02:04:20):
But anything.
Speaker 1 (02:04:22):
With any racing game and learn, Yes, that's what I mean,
with any racing game with gears. I've been just doing
it randomly and like obviously burning my tires or breaking
the engine or whatever, because obviously I don't know the
correct format yet, like how gears work, so I've always
(02:04:43):
opted for automatic. But if I had more money than since,
I would buy a manual car. If you see the
cars I want to get,
